Reviews of Paint the Town
R. Joy Rush
Wide variety of pottery and color selections.
Thorough, but memorable instructions.
The staff is very helpful in their tips and advise, but also will freely let you work out your own creative ideas.
Pleasant atmosphere for families, friend groups, or a date with your partner.
Very inclusive staff and business practice so all feel welcome.
Could be very busy on weekends and evenings. Plan ahead!
Daily specials and order ahead options are also available.

We LOVE Paint the Town and go all the time. The prices are comparable or better to other ceramic painting places and you can use an unlimited number of colors when painting in the studio. There are a wide variety of options to paint and they range in price from about $10-60 for the larger projects.
Depending on when you go, space may be limited but you can paint outside if it’s nice out. There can be a lot of kids, but the staff manages the space well and you can usually find a chill and quiet spot to work on your creation.
They have multiple shades of every color in the rainbow and a variety of tools to help you paint ranging from brushes of various sizes, stencils, stamps, toothbrushes for a speckled patter, to paint pens for precise detailing.
If you are here on vacation, note that it takes a little over a week for the pieces to be glazed and kilned. All in all, a great way to spend a few hours. Parking is free in the U Village garage.

Celebrated my girlfriend's birthday here along with 6 other friends. Booked an advance reservation here, that includes 2 hours of painting time in an indoor private setup at the back of the painting studio.
This was our first time when it came to ceramic painting. So the staff were very friendly and extremely patient to go over how things work from end to end. They also have a decent collection of ceramic pieces and a wide range of colors. The entire painting session was so memorable and fun-filled with friends around and the final product made the overall experience completely worth it.

Great activity for all ages. An abundance of pieces to choose from to paint. Affordable and reasonable prices per piece. First come, first served for indoor and outdoor seating. Helpful and friendly staff. They explain the whole process well and are very knowledgeable and informative. The environment is peaceful, inviting and nice. Their music selection was great. Great location! Loved everything about my experience

Paint the Town has been a staple of the University Village for a long time. Because of this, it's busy quite often. I recommend reserving a spot if your party is over 5 people. You can also now order take home kits to paint your pottery at home and then bring it back for them to fire in the store which is a good option if you want to create something but don't have a lot of time to spend waiting for a spot to open up. I love this sort of establishment, but it can definitely get pricey.
Georgina Chandler
For years this has been one of my favorite places to go to relax in Seattle. It’s always fun and the staff are very friendly. They have a great selection of pottery and paint colors and it’s always well stocked, clean and comfortable.
Emily Ahn
Great activity with nice pieces to choose from and beautiful paint colors. We arrived around 3pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy, but within an hour became packed. Staff was friendly, and they don't give you a time limit for how long you can stay.
Andrea
Great place to be if you find yourself bored at home. The staff explains the process if it’s your first visit. How to use the paint, how to clean up properly and what to expect after your project. It is first come first serve with seats indoors as well as outdoor. My friend and I spent about 1 hour painting our designs. Pleasant environment, good music and affordable prices.
Mary Beale
Very affordable and entertaining experience. I’ve painted two cereal bowls here, and they both turned out as I expected. They do a good job of walking you through the process if you haven’t been here before. Great for a date night or to take your kids to!
chaitanya brahmbhatt
Great therapeutic excercise! The staff was helpful and place was clean and well organized.
Serina Hsu
It was fun. They had everything you need to paint some pottery or in my case, a Christmas ornament. The staff was helpful and we all had fun.
Maria Zolosloth
One of my favorite places to go to with a friend or on a date with my hunny! So many varieties of things you can paint and the girls up front as so friendly and accommodating. They also have seasonal pottery and new ideas when I come in! Did some Christmas gifts for my folks and they turned out phenomenal. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BUSINESS!!!
Oscar Alvarez
Spacious place for relaxing art. The best part is that their prices are all inclusive. They are generous with the paints and the selection is large. Staff is polite and nice.
Bruce Hardy
Very relaxing experience! Staff is super friendly and helpful in giving us advice on different painting techniques. Seating is limited. For us, our masterpieces took time to make, so plan accordingly (2+ hours). They have a variety of pieces to paint from vases, mugs, pots, plates, and a huge selection of figurines.
Tiffany Jenkins
Great place to let your creativity out and paint some ceramics!!! I recommend printing something (they can print it for you to size, just email it to yourself before you go) and tracing it with their special paper if you can't free hand (that's what I did for the Totoro characters on both of these mugs)
Abhiram Ravi
Paint the town is a fun activity for people of all ages. Went there with a few friends, not all of whom were interested in artsy things to begin with but even they enjoyed the experience. We were all very excited to after the week long wait to see the results of the activity and it turned out way better than expected. The staff are all very helpful and guide you if you're ever stuck. The experience is totally worth the price.
Definitely will be visiting Paint the Town again with more people.

I have been here a couple of times. Last time, I went there with friends on a weekday evening. It was a very relaxing activity for us after a busy day. The store was not too busy, we didn't have to wait. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend this. I've been there on a weekend as well. Just to keep in mind: they're very busy on weekends and I had to wait more than an hour that day. It's better to go early in the day on weekends.
Gina Miller
Lovely helpful staff, bright clean calm atmosphere. Such a treat to paint here.
Hanna Beytebiere
I had a great time painting pottery here with my friends! There was a wide selection of pottery to choose from, such as figurines, plates, cups, mugs, bowls and tiles, plus more. The prices were reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Trinh Mai
Love coming here with friends! Can get pretty crowded but can usually find somewhere to sit. I recommend coming here if you have a lot of time on your hands. Great for all ages!
Diana Joan Nazziwa
Come great creative with your mind and do some painting!!! So many options of pieces to paint . Tables are shareable with others. Prices are affordable. Lots of happy kids and adults always here to self express. No food allowed but it's best. Come get creative!!!!
Tanya Button
Such friendly staff. They explain best methods of painting your pottery piece. Super clean tables, pallettes, brushes, bowls, etc. Very enjoyable way to craft a keepsake.
Amaal Mire
Such a beautiful space and I loved doing pottery there
Michelle Talbott
Paint the Town helped plan and facilitate a virtual painting session for our Volunteer Appreciation events at our non-profit organization. We had over 300 registrants and nearly 200 in attendance. From start to finish, the entire team has been professional , helpful and incredibly kind. There were many options offered to best fit our needs along with options for shipping paint kits straight to our registrants. Our volunteers had a great time and are asking for more opportunities as well as asking that we offer opportunities such as this for our youth members. The staff in attendance are excited to book our own events as well. Thank you Celia, Ashley, Jen, Annalise, Shannon, Sarah, Mei, and Celine!

Expensive way to share a nice time with friends/family/coworkers to paint ceramic figures, but it’s a great way to have a fun couple hours with someone/people. They make it -very- easy to just go paint something that would otherwise take a lot of set up and know-how. Been here a few times now!
Helen Ell Tran
Fun place to paint mugs, bowls, and so on. The price is high but it was a great experience.
Billy
The staff is amazing! So helpful and patient. We loved celebrating our birthday here and will certainly be back!
Journey O
I've come here since I was a small child and I've never been to a better place. It's well organized and clean.
Sims Family
I brought my daughter here(9yrs) we had a great time super friendly environment awesome staff for sure coming back with my nieces
Kalan Guiley
This is a really fun place for kids! It has been a pretty noisy and energetic environment every time I've been there, so I wouldn't recommend it for a date (although it seems like other people do). I'm also always a little surprised at how expensive it is. It tends to be a "special occasion" for us, e.g., painting a jewelry box for mom's birthday. But make sure you plan ahead--typical follow to get your painted items through their kiln is about a week, and it gets longer around holidays.
Virginia See
This place is great. They have a wide variety of pre-made ceramics to choose from for painting, ranging from mugs, bowls, and plates to cute little animal figurines and less obvious items like picture frames, candle votive holders, and spoon rests. A great choice for a unique and personal gift! It takes 1 week to get your item fired and returned to you. They have tons of paints and tools and are great about offering advice and expertise if you need it, but not crowding you if you prefer independence. My daughters have loved painting things here since they were little, and I love it too! Definitely check it out!!
Kristin Bates
We really enjoy this place. Great afternoon activity with or without friends, spans the age gaps in our multi generational family. There was one afternoon is which some young staff members were speaking inappropriately but the vast majority of our visits have been awesome.
Naomi Menahem
Our virtual team building event was so much fun! Adam did a great job in moderating and teaching. What a great way to step away from the stress of working remotely and taking time to hang out with the team while staying creative.
Felicia Kayne
This place is fun for family, couples, and individuals. I needed a rush on mine because i was moving out of state and went to have a good time with my daughter before i left. They normally do a rush for 5 days, but mine was done and ready in 3. Thank you!
Genevieve St. Charles
Great place! I went alone, and granted it was packed with kids because it was a Saturday, but I gotta say it was a delightful experience. The staff was super friendly and I think my pieces are gonna turn out awesome. It's such a great gift idea. I'll probably go back and make some more stuff!
Elizabeth Oestreich
So much fun! You pay for the piece and everything else is included. There are inexpensive little trinkets, expensive large cookie jars, and everything in between.
Suzy Ekstrom
This place is always busy, but it's worth the wait and the small elbow space. They have the best selection of pottery in town. And they don't charge you a studio fee which is nice. You can bring snacks and drinks too which is great if you have little ones.
Antonio Escobedo (Kontrabedo)
Lovely store, kind people working there to help you out. A great place for both kids and adults!
Debbie Perelman
My favorite place to come paint ceramic pieces. Lots of color options, piece options, and materials to use such as stencils, brushes, etc. They only charge for the piece and there’s no studio fee. They had my piece ready in about a week and I loved it. They properly pack it with paper so it doesn’t break. Super friendly staff.
Logan HZG Lauren
I like that there is no charge for studio time and you can take a long as you want. The atmosphere is creative and fun, the staff are friendly. There were adult with kids, couples, and people painting by themselves, too. Great activity and super fun and creative!
Nancy Schuldt
Oh, how I do love this place! I've made many pieces for own home, painted many more for gifts, and hosted a number of parties. Today's treat was a project with grandsons, ages 3 years and 18 months, for their parents for Christmas. Staff was super helpful and my mind is spinning with ideas for next time.
Briana Kemp
The small place was very crowded! While I was picking out my piece to paint, my boyfriend got all the directions, I got none. I knew where the paint was, but I didn't know they had idea books of all kinds or stencils, and who knows what else!? But I had a good time free handing my bowl. And they both turned out so well! Decent price too:)
Matt Perrone
Paint the Town is a great date night spot. Each piece of pottery is a set price, and they provide all the paint and supplies. Once you are finished with your creation, they fire it to make it glossy and about a week later, you can pick it up. The pricing is pretty decent considering everything you get, including a huge list of different colors and options. The staff is super nice, and being within U Village makes it easy to grab food and walk around before or after.
Christine Bierman
I enjoyed painting different objects with my family on a rainy day. The shop's small size and Covid limitations meant that we had to paint a short distance away from the store in a pleasant, covered shelter. My suggestion for us non-artists is to have on hand basic templates for common designs that we could use as visual aids.
diksha narahari
Its a very cozy and cute place with a variety of pieces to paint on. The staff is very friendly and walk you through the process, there are a number of colours and tools to go off on your imagination. The prices are reasonable as well as they glaze your product too and you get to keep it. Many offers too, different on every day of the week.
Ru Mahoney
We visited for the very first time for my daughter's birthday, taking two of her friends and they had a nice time. We came back the next week to pick up the pottery and noticed they have a nice punch card for 20% off for every $100 spent. Since we'd spent $88+ on our first visit I asked if we were too late to get the punch card. The clerk was sweet and said no problem but was stopped by another clerk who said they couldn't do that and stood mumbling to the clerk helping us while we waited. Policy is policy, I get it. But saying yes then no is bad business and just seemed an unnecessary unkindness to new customers. Especially when we spent nearly $100 on our very first visit. Decent place but highly priced and we felt awkward and suddenly unwelcome after asking about the punch card. We'll opt to patronize one of the many other pottery painting places next time and hope for a more warm and friendly environment.
Jennie Riedinger
SUPER FUN as an online, team building experience! Great coordinators were communicative and flexible, art instructor was fun and patient with my raucous group!
Cassie Brock
Such a fun place to go! They have a wide selection of ceramics to choose from as well as a wide selection of paint colors. It's a relaxing environment to paint in, and your finished product is ready in a week!
Alexander Gorevski
Was a lot of fun, 5 stars if they had more seating. Watched about ten couples come in and were told to wait. We were lucky and showed up early with a party of people so we got seats.
Forrest McIntyre
My girlfriend and I have been trying to make it to Paint the Town once a week. It is a great artistic date where you actually get some keepsakes :) Prices are great especially with their daily deals. Price includes pottery, paint, firing, etc... All inclusive :)
Lizabeth Meany
I would come to this place about once a week when I was a server with weird work hours. The staff was friendly when I would only paint the cheapest thing, and would stay for up to 4 hours, they provided helpful advice and friendly conversation. I recommend this place to anyone who needs to get their creative juices flowing and relax.
Kaci Uipi
I saw this many times while passing but wasn't sure what yo expect. We took two young boys there and it was great. A wonderful environment where you can relax and be creative, de-stress... The staff was kind and helpful as well. Also, they have daily specials so check those out. For example, Wednesday is buy one get 2nd one for half off.
Marsha Steger
This place is spectacular. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of their size, it's too bad they don't have a larger facility. And because I do believe that the price of some items is a little bit high. But overall it's an awesome experience!
Monique Ragland
Had such a great time with great options to choose from. Went with friends from college and we all really enjoyed ourselves. If you need something fun and relaxing to do, take the time and visit Paint the Town.
Loren Hanson
A pottery painting shop that has a healthy variety of pottery to choose from AND allow you to repeatedly come back to continue working on a piece. I spent two weeks working on one once so they are a patient crew.
It's a one week wait time for your artwork.
Worst thing about the place is that the bathrooms are over by the Tesla dealership and the escalator.
Genny Roberts
Great place to come when you're with friends and are all like "I'm not sure what to do"! Bring out your creative side and have fun! I'm no artist and had a great time- plus you can make easy gifts!!
kelly pleva
Great atmosphere and so much fun!
Dauntlessmmm
Little on the expensive side but it was really fun! My friend insisted on taking me as a gift and I had so much fun if your not very artistic the place isn't good for you but if you are this is your heaven outside of Michaels and Joannes!
Katie Blankenship
The only reason that it is not 5 stars is the pricing. I came and was treated wonderfully. The options were very fun and had both creative needing and guided selections. The instruction was easy to follow.
Lauren Silver
Loved it! I painted a mug and my bf painted a dog bowl. Took abt 90 minutes. Cost 50$ in total

I went yesterday with my family and I had a great time! The staff just kind of let you do your own thing. Honestly, they were really helpful when I did have questions, and there are instructions at every table.
