I was introduced to the world of steaks by Crowd Cow earlier this year and I am happy to say that I am glad I clicked on that popup ads. The quality of my American Wagyu steaks I got from my subscription boxes have never disappointed me once. IMO, the subscription is the way to go; it's customizable, flexible and the delivery is always on time. I am really looking forward to more delicious steaks from Crowd Cow in 2022!

I have had 3 boxes delivered so far and I am a big fan of Crowd Cow. They made my dream of trying out Japanese A5 Wagyu a reality, and it was life changing! It was everything I could have imagined and more. I am working my way through their other less extravagant selections now, but I like how there are usually higher end options available for certain cuts. Something I can't even get from my local grocer, and everything has been much fresher too. There is a great selection of higher end product - from beef, pork, or chicken, to seafood and fish, and its all been fresh & delicious. I have been really impressed with their deliveries, its always packed very nicely, and all items arrive completely frozen. They remind you of incoming boxes beforehand as well as an update right after its been delivered. I have enjoyed cooking and eating some top quality proteins that I didn't readily have easy access to before, and I didn't have to travel to some specialty store or butcher shop out of my way for, especially during this Pandemic. I think the best part is the fact that it everything comes frozen keeping it all fresher for much longer, so I can plan out meals at my leisure as opposed to having to cook a meal immediately after buying unfrozen meat or seafood previously. Now we can make less runs to the grocery store and just have a freezer full of delicious protein. I will definitely be a longtime member of this terrific service!

Okay so Crowd Cow rocks in a huge way. We have ordered the Pacific Shrimp (and we love MX shrimp so it matters), and the boneless lamb (which was lean and tender and awesome on the grill), and the hot Italian sausage (which was PERFECTLY seasoned). Everything we have ordered has been amazing. If you care about protein, well-raised protein, and surprising customer service, Crowd Cow is a find.

I recently became aware of Crowd Cow and was excited to discover such a huge selection and variety of proteins to choose from. In particular, what I was most excited to see, was the Bison Tenderloin Steaks, as they are not that easy to find. Setting up an account & ordering was super easy, received order confirmation & tracking almost instantly. Placed my order on 5/29, late in the afternoon and received the morning of June 1st. Received a text message as soon as my order was delivered. The Bison Tenderloin Steak's grilled beautifully, tasted amazing, tender, lean and very flavorful. I will be ordering them again, once they are back in stock. Also, what I love about Crowd Cow, is their referral program. I sent the referral link to my boyfriend, (he would save $ 25 and I would save $25 on my next order). After eating the Bison Steaks, he was so impressed, he immediately placed an order. I highly recommend Crowd Cow and I love their mission- To create an alternative to the current meat commodity system, and to create a meaningful connection between the farmer and the customer, so people can know and appreciate exactly where their food comes from. food is great. Love that the food is still Frozen and fresh when delivered. Found great package deals. Also tons of choices different types of foods. The only problem I had with several people I known work for that company. Complain of a supervisor in the packing name Alvin who made racist comments towards whites and black people sending them home early ignoring them and disrespecting them several times He was reported by numerous people. But still remains a employee there

Bought 4 times now from Crowd Cow - I've also used Omaha Steak; Butcher box, and CSAs. It seems there are lot of new ones popping up. Meat Quality - Great. Steaks seem well aged but not to that 21 day mushroom like smell (I some people like that, but the wife and kids are not a fan of long dry-aged beef). Chicken was grade A, the sustainably farmed salmon was not cheap - but turned out well both sous-vide and in (hot) smoker. Packaging - Great (I like that the flank steaks were not folded on themselves) / the use of biodegradable material is welcome - more than adequate insulation and dry ice. I'm buying my Turkey for Thanks-giving from them. Again, not the cheapest but the quality of meat has been high, and packaging excellent. Photo is of two whole chickens cooked hanging (mid-cook) on S-hooks there is butter under the skin and the drippings cook the potatoes below. I didn't take a better photo unfortunately but they turned out great / crispy skin, like a rotisserie.

I am not one to typically write reviews, but Kobe/Waygu beef is my favorite food in the world. Until Crowd Cow, I had only eaten it at restaurants (Prime, SW, Etc.). A 10 Oz Kobe steak costs over $750 at one of those restaurants. With Crowd Cow, you can get Kobe at much more reasonable prices and if you are looking for something even cheaper, the Kagoshima Waygu is nearly just as good, for a fraction of the price.

After having a hard time finding good local beef in my area, I tried Crowd Cow. The quality is great and priced about what you would pay at a local butcher shop. I tried a few different farms: grass fed, grain finished, and American Wagyu. I've definitely found a farm I really like (Cottonwood Ranch) and stock up my freezer when I'm running low and it comes available. I also really like that Crowd Cow offers big, meaty chuck ribs which are excellent to smoke and hard to find at times. They are also my go-to for trip tips, since they can be hard to find in the southeast.

I have bought three types of products so far: Japanese Wagyu, Wagyu from Tasmania, Australia, and bacon. They all tasted amazing - I'm not even able to pick out ONE favorite thing, because ALL are my favorites! Shipping is always fast and reliable, and the meat remains frozen when it arrives at my place. I especially appreciate the handwritten note that comes with EVERY order - how thoughtful! Understanding the effort that ranchers put into making high quality Grass Feed Beef makes this meat worth the price. This is our third shipment from Crowd Cow. I love the fact that I can pick the cuts of Beef I want and it is delivered to my door. This is supporting the little farmers and not the giant feedlots. Give them a try pretty sure you'll be glad. I've ordered beef, chicken, pork and salmon from Crowd Cow, all of which have been fantastic and tasty. Their customer service is responsive and top-notch and I see no reason not to order more over time. The delivery box holds the items frozen for some time, as I have been away for a day or two when it is delivered and it is just fine on my return. Oh man, where to begin. I feel like I begin to salivate when I read the name Crowd Cow. I’ve ordered from them several times and it just dawned on me these guys need a review from me. If I could give them six stars I gladly would. My last order was a pair of 12oz steaks from Five Dot Ranch. As usual they arrived precisely when they said they would, packed in enough dry ice to keep them frozen for a week! I cooked one up in the cast iron with just salt and pepper and it tasted divine. We've had a great experience with Crowd Cow. The prices are a little more than our local grocery store, but the quality has always been MUCH better, and I really appreciate knowing where the meat was produced and how the animals were raised. The shipping and packaging has also been great so far, insulated either with biodegradable foam (my favorite) or recycled & recyclable paper-encased shredded fiber, and kept cold with plenty of dry ice. They even left a personalized handwritten note which was a nice touch.

We love ordering from Crowd Cow! We live in a small city without access to meat this healthy without driving about 1.5 hours. The taste is incredible. We were skeptical about the grass fed ribeyes because they have less marbling than we are used to but the flavor was far beyond what we can get at the local butcher shop and well worth the price for a 16oz steak. Delivery is always on time and the food is well packaged and kept at perfect temperature. I was also skeptical about the food always being frozen but it always tastes fresh. Well worth the price tag and super easy service. Thankful to have found this!

Beef from here has always been fantastic. It's always packaged well, and in many cases, it goes right into the Sous Vide, no repackaging required. Here's a shank I picked up a while back, it's been cooking with some mushrooms for 24 hours at 135 degrees. It's the best. thing. ever.

This is my first experience with meat home delivery. I’ve found that the meats and poultry are tasty, consistently so. I really like that a variety of small farms are used. I can’t honestly say it tastes considerably better than grocery meats do, but I have had several experiences with questionable quality of grocery meat purchases, so again I like Crowd Cows consistency in quality. The packaging is very effective-everything arrives completely frozen, even in Florida. The most recent box looked as if had had a rough trip-very battered and also a day later than the original tracking said. I thought uh-oh, but everything was still totally frozen! Also, it’s great that they use the dissolving styrofoam and dry ice. I the way they notify customers of upcoming shipments and the ease of changing products and dates. And I also like their selection and choices. If I had to say anything negative, it would be cost. However, I think they’re less expensive or comparable to other home delivery companies.

I love that every month you get to choose how much and type of protein from a variety of categories, Beef, chicken,pork,buffalo,fish. All from planet sustainable small family sourcing. I think it is great when the farms send you a thank you video for your orders. In a way you feel as though you know where your food is coming from and there is heart behind the products. Another great thing about Crowd Cow is the pricing is very fair not overpriced at all. Yes, there are expensive cuts of meat... you don’t have to buy these. They have organic and heritage options and you can play with prices. I get the organic chicken breast and ground turkey thigh and steel head. I've gotten 5 orders so far buy one or two of various items to try out, all good so far.. All the other online meat markets are too expensive. The only complaint I have is the price fluctuations but it is what it is. The sales are nice and I do get a discount for being a member. I highly recommend crowd cow!

We sous vide about everything that we order from here (from the Pork Chops to the Japanese A5) and it's always high quality, shipped quickly, and some of the best meals we had during quarantine. They have a huge selection of various meats and cuts so it’s fun picking out what to get each month. They are a little more expensive than my local grocery store but the quality is so much better! I was hesitant to be ordering meat from a website and then having it shipped to me. I am glad that I made the choice to try them. They have good decent cuts of meat that aren't that expensive and the shipping isn't as bad as you'd think. The boxes ship well sealed, insulated and well chilled to keep my meat frozen for the two days it takes to get to me. I made their boneless duck breast last night for dinner, it was so good. All of the meats I've tried so far have been very good cuts and very tender. I will continue to purchase from them. I love the fact that I can see exactly where my meat is coming from and see the farmers and their ranches. The beef, chicken, pork and scallops I’ve gotten monthly since March are delicious. Crowd Cow is easy to work with and the quality of the products is outstanding. The box comes on a date that you are made aware of a few days before. Everything is packed individually and then in dry ice. The prices are excellent for the quality of the food. I have been using Crow Cow for about a year. I am a cook. Not a chef but a cook. I mostly bbq/smoke and grill meats along with cooking/grilling all kinds of other foods. In my youth I was a cook at a steakhouse. The meats I get from Crowd Cow remind me of the meats the chef of the restaurant sourced locally from farms in NW Indiana. I have yet to get a back or not-as-advertised cut of beef from Crowd Cow. You pay a bit more for that quality but it's worth it! I also like the fact that the company supports the local farmer vs. the meat packing industrial complex. I also get my meats from a friend who is a butcher at a specialty grocer who gets his meats from local farms in IL. The cuts are comparable in quality, cut and price.

Crowd Cow always lets me know when to expect my delivery. Packaged very well and the food is always still frozen. I receive chicken, salmon and halibut every delivery. The chicken breasts are delicious and much better than the grocery store product. We get both chicken breasts and a whole chicken. The salmon and halibut are delicious. They always include a package of ground beef which is great as I make my own dog food.

The things I purchase through Crowd Cow are always top notch quality. Things are more sustainable and taste better than what I can typically find in the grocery here. I love that I can easily skip or reschedule boxes if I'm not ready for my next one. Things always arrive still frozen and the packaging is mostly very sustainable--the foam insulation is a plant cellulose that disintegrates when you run water with it. The meats themselves are vacuum sealed in plastic, but you can tell they've minimized the amount of plastic involved as much as possible.

Crowd Cow is very high quality meat, delivered right to your door. We can really taste the difference. It's definitely a "cut above"!! Tastes way better than the stuff we get at our local grocery store for sure. If you are worried about buying meat online because of spoilage during shipment, don't be. Crowd Cow is my go-to for the best quality meats! I love that I can read about the farms that the products come from, and appreciate finding so many choices for humanely raised animals. I've always found the CC website easy to navigate. Also- they allow me to send meat gifts, which (obviously) have been really well received. Shipping is quick, and everything has always arrived uber-frozen. I've ordered from CC at least 8 times now, and have never been disappointed. They offer cooking suggestions and are always really nice about showing their appreciation for their customers. I've gotten bacon, pork roast, chicken, local wagu (from 2 towns down) as well as some other amazing beef cuts... been very happy with everything. Love love love this service! I try to be more conscientious on where I buy my groceries and after a few months of using them I now get about 99% of my meat here. When I have recommendations or requests of new products they should offer, quite literally a month later I see it available for purchase. The biggest draw for myself is their selection of wild game meats like venison, bison and wild boar that I now almost exclusively eat. Everything I've ordered in the past month has been top quality. Chicken thighs, sirloin, ribs and especially the ground beef and brisket. I have a pork shoulder and flank steak on the way and can't wait to those on the smoker and grill. Shipping is always on time if not early and the packaging is done with care. I have used Crowd Cow a few times now. I did a test order the first time a few years ago, and since order a pretty decent haul to stock part of the freezer. I am a fan of being able to know where my meat comes from and Crowd Cow does a great job of that while providing a lot of choices. It does come to your house frozen, and the packaging is AWESOME! They do a great job of making sure that they are as eco friendly as possible. Dissolving the packaging peanuts in the sink is super fun. If you are going to buy meat that has been frozen you cannot do better that Crowd Cow. (Note: most grocery stores sell only meat that was frozen then thawed anyway. If you want non frozen meat you will need to find a local butcher but their selection will be more limited) I have referred many friends to the service, and will continue doing so.

The food comes vacuum packed and in on dry ice - and they use completely recyclable materials for shipping. Let's just say that I'm never buying meat at the supermarket again. I began ordering from Crowd Cow because I have an intolerance to wheat and gluten and I needed to eliminate grain products including grains fed to meat products. I was specifically looking liver since I could find grass fed protein from other sources but Crowd Cow had grass feed beef liver. I tried their other products and the more I explored the more I found I enjoyed. I find they offer protein variety especially in seafood wild caught that I explored and never experienced from more common sources. The product has always been superb. The quality difference is even more noticeable when you go back to eating same product from more common sources such as grocery stores. The price is more than the store but the increase in quality, variety, and taste far surpasses the price change. I am far more healthy according to my doctor's lab testing - in fact my doctor is astounded the difference in my health in the last year since I eliminated grain fed protein from my diet. Apparently more have found this secret because I find my beef liver - which is absolutely the best tasting liver I've ever eaten and I was raised on liver as a staple food - is not available in the abundance I want so I cherish my delivery even the more.

The pork tenderloin is excellent, ground beef and wagu ground beef excellent, the ribeye steak I cooked medium to medium rare and it had a lot of taste but also a lot of gristle. I have now made about 7-8 ordered as a repeat customer. I have ordered beef and chicken products and have yet to be disappointed. As a Texan, I would like to think I have been exposed to good meat over the years, but I can honestly say that the product I receive from Crowd Cow is superior to anything I had previously. I am so glad that I decided to try this service! The meat consistently arrive with plenty of ice to spare, and is really, really delicious. Most importantly however, the packaging that they use is biodegradable in water. There are other carnivorous treats out there that I don’t allow myself to indulge in due to the styrofoam insulation, but with Crowd Cow that is no longer a concern. I also love that they don’t sell backordered products... if you can order it, you WILL receive it in a timely manner. Customer service is also exceptional.

You will pay more, but if you bought the same thing (how raised and quality) in a store...you also will pay more. SUB STANDARD Shipping/Delivery experience!! I placed my order for Thanksgiving Turkey and Drumsticks, received some great follow-up recipe and general info email, and then delivery day came. I received an email letting me know that my order had been delivered. I went home during workday to take care of the package, but the package was not at my door, not around my home, not at any of my neighbors doors. I reached out to Crowd Cow, but they do not have phone support, only email or text. I received a response text letting me know that the delivery company, "has a habit of hiding it in random places....or it may have been delivered to the wrong address." I was both concerned and frustrated. I then decided to contact the delivery company, which Crowd Cow states on their website is FedEx, but was instead a company I had never heard of called AxlehireV3 (I later googled this company and the reviews are horrible 1 out of 5 stars, about 150 reviews). The AxelhireV3 rep that I spoke with texted me a picture and GPS coordinates for the delivery, which was not my house/address. The AxlehireV3 rep apologized and stated that she would reach out to dispatch and see IF they could pick up at the wrong address and redeliver to me at the correct address. I asked what IF meant? She shared that they could not guarantee that this would be done, and if it was not done then I would have to request a refund from Crowd Cow. I was flabbergasted. I reached out via text and email to Crowd Cow again and received automated response messages letting me know that a support ticket had been opened and they would get back with me. Well, at about 5pm when I was able to leave work, I drove home to see if the box had been redelivered, no luck. Soooooo I decided to go on the hunt for my package. I drove to the address provided by the delivery company, and there was my box with a note from the homeowner stating that it had been delivered to the wrong address. I let Crowd Cow know that I retrieved my package, and about 3 days later (on Monday) I received a 'we are sorry, here is $20 off next order' email. I asked that the $20 be credited toward this current $150++ order, but was told they could not do that. What? Had Crowd Cow provided the $20 off this order I would have given them a 2nd chance, but my experience coupled with what I feel is fraudulent advertising regarding fact that they did not use FedEx for shipping, well ...1 Star and I will not be a future customer.

Typically my household will only buy locally raised beef/meat. Once a month we order Crowd Cow for several different reasons. The first one is it that their products are sustainably sourced from responsible farms, the second is that all of their products are top grade, the third is the selection. Love the wagu options, I cook these on a charcoal grill and check the temperature so I can pull it at 135F. But the rest, I'm ambivalent about. I don't buy here to be socially responsible. I buy for quality. I have bought wagu sirloin, ribeye, and filet. The favorite of my wife is the filet, I love the ribeye. The sirloin was good, but I've never been a big sirloin fan and these didn't win me over. Better than other sirloin, but not so much I would buy them over the other two. I have purchased the frozen lobster from Maine but didn't feel it did justice to the lobster I had when I lived in Maine for 20 years. My wife and I didn't really find a good reason to purchase the ground beef as I couldn't find much difference between what I buy locally. They do make great 'smashburgers' though. The bacon was salty and again, not much different. On the plus side, nothing has been negative. I will continue to purchase the wagu that has ruined me for local purchase of steaks. And when I find something else that sticks out, I'll update this review.

I have ordered mostly seafood from crowd cow and all I have had has been excellent. I did order a quantity of ground beef that was extremely gray. Some so much so that the texture between the gray and pink actually seemed different fro on another. I went ahead and cooked and ate a pound and the flavor was good. The gray was off putting. I wrote crowd cow about this and received no response. I do realize ground beef can become gray but never seen it quite that gad in similar packaging.

Crowd Cow is fantastic. The old adage “You get what you pay for” is completely valid with them. You are going to pay a premium, but in return you are going to receive premium products. The Wagyu tri tip was out of this world good. The Ora king salmon was the best piece of fish I’ve ever eaten. Even the dog treats are great(assuming my dog would leave a review of the beef lung and tongue treats he completely houses when given). And my brother liked the tri tip so much he became a member. In all honesty, I haven’t received a sub-par piece of anything. And it’s super easy to customize and create new boxes each month, they also get a few specials that pop up to entice trying something new, so I bought some lovely blue crab that was phenomenal. Packaging is completely convenient and I haven’t had any issues yet thankfully but I imagine if something was off, they’d make it right. The notification system is good, like Amazon, I get an email and a text message when my package has been delivered.

I started ordering from the Crowd Cow in late 2017 and the service is excellent. I was able to adjust a delivery date because of my vacation as well. I have ordered both meat and poultry from different farms, and so far the quality far exceeds that of the organic equivalents in the supermarkets. Now, I only buy pork and lamb there. Of note, for the pate lovers, I ordered liver twice and the pate was delicious (I boil it and then ground with apples). In the past, I always added butter to the pate, but the liver was so reach, it was unnecessary. I have mentioned the company to my friends and neighborhood site so they could enjoy this as well.

Ordered two 8-pound White Oak Pastures Heritage half-hams on Monday, 15 April 2019 and they were delivered by FedEx on Friday, 19 April 2019 in perfect condition. The shipping was free, but the packaging that went into shipping our order to us was INCREDIBLE! Amazing planet-friendly packing materials, along with 30 pounds of dry ice, ensured our hams arrived still properly frozen and ready for Easter weekend. A little personalized card was included in the box...nice touch! I'll update this review only if we are disappointed after eating the hams, but I have every confidence they will be awesome, just from my customer experience with Crowd Cow this past week. Already looking forward to trying some of their other products soon!

We really appreciate the quality of Crowd Cow and the fast shipping. I recently had one of the products not live up to the standard and when I gave feedback they remedied the situation quickly and to our total satisfaction. My one small complaint would be that the plastic bags they use to ship the dry ice often are completely open and the dry ice is all over the box. Not a big deal, just a bit of a hassle.

I can’t believe how delicious this meat is! Typically, I go to my local Whole Foods meat counter and have them double-grind brisket, chuck roast and short ribs together to get the perfect ground beef mixture (meat-to-fat ratio) for burgers, meatloaf, etc. But even then, it can be difficult to obtain beef that has been grass fed/grass finished. When I saw Crowd Cow on facebook, I was intrigued that they were featuring a sustainable farm with grass-fed AND grass-finished beef that is ALSO dry-aged. Sounded too good to be true, but I decided to take a chance on ‘tipping the cow,’ so I ordered 24 lbs of ground beef. It arrived in a timely manner, very well-packaged, securely & with dry ice. Well, let me tell you...that is the best ground beef I think I have ever had! We’ve had burgers twice now and both times: tender, juicy, with great beefy flavor, which you just cannot find anymore at your local grocery store. Plus, it’s a bonus to be able to help an independent farmer who cares about their livestock and farmland...no pesticides or herbicides used at the farm this meat came from! I now have two packages defrosting in the fridge for meatloaf. Bye, bye Whole Foods meat counter!! It’s been nice, but I’ve found a new love!

I had my misgivings when I first found out about Crowd Cow--you have to subscribe to the site before getting any information--but it's impossible to overstate just how good this meat is. CC sends out emails a few times a month with detailed descriptions of the cow of the day. You select the cuts you want from a number of assortments. It's typically delivered vacuum packed and flash frozen, over dry ice. We've ordered four times so far, and each selection has been exceptional. We've cooked on the grill, in a pan finished in the oven, and sous vide with a finishing sear (my favorite). Our first delivery was New York Strips as the primary choice. These steaks were about an inch thick, 12 oz+ each. The flavor of this meat, the tenderness, the lovely mouthfeel (yeah, that's a foodie term...deal with it)--these are all as good as you'll find anywhere. This meat is not cheap, but it is an absolute value. It's now the standard by which I judge fancy restaurant meals--and so far, the restaurants come up just a tad short. Highly, highly recommended.

I have ordered several times from Crowd Cow. Scallops, Chicken, Beef, never disappointed. This last order was a problem. For something different I ordered 3 types of fish. Let me say I am a fisherman and eat may types of fish. WILD ICELANDIC RED FISH (Ocean Perch). I knew as soon as I opened the box there was a problem. The perch smelled very fishy (still vacuum packed). When I opened the vacuum packaging the smell was stronger. The fish were still very frozen so not a shipping issue. I cooked some and tried to eat it. Reminded me of the Bluefish my father tried to make me eat. Definitely not the…”tastes mild and sweet, with depth and buttery richness” advertised. Possibly problem at the source. WILD ICELANDIC WOLFFISH – Better than the perch with no smell. Taste was OK but again not the …”Sometimes likened to lobster and crab for its mild, sweet finish” advertised. WILD ALASKAN HALIBUT – Excellent. Definitely won’t be ordering the perch again. I repeat this is the first time I have had a problem. All previous items ordered were very good.

Easy to order, our food always comes from regional sources instead of factory farms (usually within driving distance from our house), and the grass-fed beef definitely tastes better than the stuff we'd get from the grocery store. Cooking is also easier, especially sous vides -- everything comes vacusealed individually. When not pre-seasoning, just plop the meat into the hot bath and sear it up for dinner!

WHERE'S THE BEEF?!?! I love this concept, this company and their product. I've ordered grass-fed beef from them several times now, and every time I think it's the best beef I've ever had. My children, 2 yrs to 13 yrs, all inhale it, and I get compliments from friends and family all the time. The price is a bit more expensive than store-bought, etc, but you pay for the quality, taste and knowing exactly where it came from. Quick shipping and always packaged well, it goes straight in my freezer with more convenience than hauling 10-12 pounds from the grocery. It come in a fabulous quite large Styrofoam container packed with dry ice. I had to hunt for my first steak which was nestled in the middle of a lot of packing material. Also I found complete instructions on how to cook it and a tin can of special salt. Well worth the money for the experience of having that meat simply dissolve in my mouth. I knew exactly where my package was en route and exactly when it was going to be delivered. It was spot on. Some of my favorite cuts are the rib eyes, strip steaks, tenderloins, tri tips, denver steaks and even the ground beef. Began ordering from here as a “treat” for my girlfriend and I, then it became a habit...now it’s a requirement. I’m literally unable to purchase (or even order) steak from anywhere else. Their other meats are good (I’ve ordered their crab legs, pulled pork, chicken, mussels and lamb), and I’ve never been disappointed (if I enjoyed lamb as much as steak, that’d be something else from them I’d be unable to get anywhere else). Their steak however, across all cuts, is just unbeatable not only in quality, but also value. I’ve settled on their grass fed and grain finished ribeye as my favorite, followed by the filet. Honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the New York strip, ordered four of them and won’t be ordering them again (although to be fair, not a huge NY strip fan to begin with, was just hoping to be swayed by them given the quality, but still just didn’t do it for me). Ordered an olive wagyu for a friend as a birthday present, and it may be the best response to a birthday gift as I’ve ever gotten hahaha. Five stars across the board.

I've placed several orders from Crowd Cow, and everything has been amazing. The wagyu steaks are out of this world! I suggest using a sous vide to cook the steaks, and then using a blow torch to quickly sear the outside before serving. The fat melts away so quickly, and you want to keep as much inside the meat as possible. It's like eating at a 5 star restaurant at home, and it's a great way to impress friends and family.

I found Crowd Cow with a google search. I had never shopped for meats online but loved the organic and the co-op idea. At first it seems more expensive but let me tell you this - my daughter RAVED about the chicken (and she is a Whole Foods lover) - there was no need to clean the breasts and all the they were HUGE. The price on Wagyu cannot be beat, their sales make it even better. The quality of the A5 Wagyu is top notch and delivery is quick. I have ordered the rib cap, multiple rib roasts and other things from this site. Everything is great. If I were to deduct any stars, I would give it a 4.75 star, because twice the product arrived with slightly broken containers. Not a big deal since it was shipped next day air, and came early in the day. But If it were to be delayed a day, the meat would not be stored at the proper temp, since the air escapes the box.

Crowd Cow is an online fine meat purveyor. I'm able to get some things I simply cannot get anywhere else (a wide selection of Wagyu - some of the finest in the world, specialty lobsters and fish) online or in person. (Important note: I live in NYC). It is a market though. With covid upending things, prices have gone up across the board, although not too much (no price gouging here). The packaging and delivery are great. You'll likely get a standard cardboard box with a makeshift cooler inside; they use biodegradable foam wrapped in recyclable plastic for insulation. Inside the foam cooler will be your meats, along with dry ice. Usual cautions with dry ice apply (don't touch directly, let it sublimate on a porch or balcony NOT in your apartment unless the windows are open and good airflow is occurring). The web interface is a little simplistic (I should be able to hold multiple ship-to addresses in my account, in case I want to ship to family members in need). Prices pre-covid were generally okay, if a little more expensive than a standard grocery store if you were buying things like ground beef. The subscription plan is probably the way to go if you plan on multiple orders; it is very flexible. Due to covid, there have been a lot of shortages. I understand that 1) there was no way Crowdcow could have predicted the pandemic 2) the timelines for the supply chain are long for most of their products (like 2.5 years at a minimum). Even so, I wish they branched out a little in response, e.g. looking at other seafood that might not be standard but is still delicious and available. I'm going to continue ordering from Crowdcow. The meats are of the highest quality and the markup is generally worth paying. But I think some more sourcing would go a long way towards keeping customers.

Gotta say, Crowd Cow is awesome. We have some good butchers in San Diego, and a fair share of grass fed options, but being able to know exactly which farm the meat came from, and also having the ability to pick different farms to experience how they raise their cattle and produce their own craft product, Crowd Cow can’t be beat. I have ordered Japanese Wagyu and Amaerican Wagyu (Japanese pure bred, but raised in Oregon), and the beef from both is astounding. I expected the Japanese to be awesome already, but I wasn’t sure how the American raised would be. It was just as amazing, if not more so (depends on what kind of meal you are intending). Shipping is fast, reliable, and cold. They pack with a fair amount of dry ice in a eco-friendly insulated cooler that keeps the meat solidly frozen. Prices seem fair and reasonable for the quality of food that they sell. All in all, I highly recommend them.

One suggestion is to offer membership not based on recurrent order (I don't like ordering the same items), but based on the dollar amount we buy in a certain period of time (e.g., customer remain a member as long as she/he spends an average of > $500 in the last 3 months).

Good and environmentally friendly packaging. Sustainable farms. Consistency is a different matter. I have ordered from them 5 times now. Sometimes I find the meat is old from the oxidation in the cryo vac bags. Who knows how long it has been sitting in a freezer. Before anyone says look at the date, I have been in the restaurant business for 15 years. I know what old meat looks like. The game meats that I ordered are sometimes short on weight. I.E ordered 1lb of bison cubes, only get 13ozes(bag included). Yes I weight everything out of habit when dealing with purveyors. On my 4th order there were things that was backordered (2pcs of bavette I think but they only had one) so I changed some things so meet the $100 requirement. Instead I got 2 orders, charged twice, got 1 pc of bavette in one of the orders and the other one I got what I added. Needless to say that is a lot of meat and freezer space. Not like I can return it. I said O.K. maybe they are really busy because of Covid-19 and uptick in online orders. Recent order(ordered on Wed 24 for Saturday delivery on their calendar pop up)they had something on back order and alerted me via text, so I changed it to something else so that I can still get my order on Saturday. As I am sitting here writing this review, it is Saturday 2/27 8:11pm. Now before anyone says I am being too hard on them let me ask you this, why are you in business and advertise that you are able to do this and that when you can not? Where is the accountability? They need to get their logistics in order specially when I am dropping $100 dollars every 2 weeks and then some. I fully appreciate their sustainable sourcing and humane approach to their products as well as their transparency in the farms that they work with. 5 stars in that regard. I write this as constructive criticism and by no means disrespecting their work or mission. I will continue to support them as I believe in their mission statement but I hope they can improve in their consistency.

We've placed several orders for ground beef and steaks from Crowd Cow already. Really happy with the quality of beef, and the low price point. The meat is always shipped frozen, vacuum sealed with dry ice, which I REALLY appreciate not having to deal with the giant gel packs afterwards. I wish they didn't put it in a styrofoam container, but it is reusable for a cheap beach cooler. I enjoy the back stories on the small farms. I also appreciate knowing that none of the cow is wasted, since they don't slaughter until the entire cow has been purchased. This is the closest we'll ever get to going vegan. Sustainable, delicious beef.

Always impressive. I've been using crowd cow for over 2 years now and I just say it's the easiest way to get japanese a-5 waygu. Most of you have heard of a-5 waygu, kobe beef etc. If you know anything about real japanese waygu you'll know you probably haven't had it if you're not going to high level steakhouses, where the japanese waygu costs around $45/ounce. And they have a 3 ounce minimum. Crowd cow is the only place that competes with these places and consistently provides amazing waygu from japan, you can go to Costco and get 12 lbs for $950 I love costco, I love japanese waygu but I do not have $1000 laying around for 12 pounds of waygu lol. If you're looking for a great experience with some beef coniesuers or you've always wanted to try waygu I'd recommend, buying a 13 oz from crowd cow. Follow the instructions on how to cook it, get a handful of salts, 6-8 would be ideal and then have a waygu tasting party. Ive done it several times and it's always a hit. People can't believe how buttery the waygu is. Crowd cow usually has waygu in stock and they keep adding more. If you've ever wondered what real japanese waygu is/tastes like I'd take the plunge. I've ordered mostly Wagyu (something you can't get easily locally) and been super impressed by delivery - fast, and packaging comes with enough dry ice to keep it frozen solid until you get home to put it away. Taste varies - this is small-scale producer meat, and so you have to find the producers and cuts that work for you, but with the ability to order a cut at a time, quantity 1, this is low risk and nice to explore. I can confirm that you don't need the high end "regular" cuts of Wagyu to get great tasting meat (in fact, those can be overwhelmingly fatty). As for meats beyond Wagyu, it's sort of hit or miss depending on your taste. If you like Costco Prime, then it's hard to beat that - price point or taste - with what's on offer here. But if you like the idea of supporting small ranchers, getting to try different breeds of cow, etc. - then this is a great way to go.

A great place to buy meats that are different from your local butcher. Your local butcher will not have have the reach of Crowd Cow in terms of reaching organic farmers from all over the world. It's one of the few places where you can get your Wyagu fix. Prices can be a bit high due to the overnight shipping involved but that's to be expected.
