Reviews of Colman Dock
Audrey P
Construction every where. Poor signage, cars lined up for hours to get on board. Homeless woman living in the handicap stall of the women's bathroom. Ferry is great very spacious. Smooth ride. Snack machines on board to purchase food. Lots of security.
Leah Spitzer
The new terminal is big, bright and well ventilated. It does get a little noisy when a boat is loading or unloading because of the way sound bounces. Current ADA access is not great. Instead of an elevator near the terminal there is one on the other side of the parking area. Much too far for someone with mobility issues. I ended up just going up the stairs VERY slowly. I hope this issues gets resolved when the rest of the terminal is finished.
Sam Horine
As far as docks go, I’d rate this 12/10 - really solid, nice traffic patterns, looks good in a photo. They’ve really been doing a lot of work on this one over the last few years so probably when they’re done it will be closer to 14/10 if all goes according to plan. Nice work Colman Dock.
Ludovicus de Soncoeur
Such a special experience to get out to the peninsula for hiking and biking. Excited for construction to be done.
Watching the advancements in construction each time i ride is fun. Seeing it all take shape.
J-M F
There’s one entrance and it says ferries and then it wraps around and comes one block over then you pay at the toll booth and get into the lane that he tells you and pay for a ticket to get back
Smiling Ls
The ferry was great. It's a good hour to Bremerton and with covid they are taking precautions. Seats are blocked off for social distancing, the food area is closed but there is a vending machine, and you can stay in your car the whole ride it you like.
Nate Edwards
It’s so much nicer now that construction is nearing completion
H. Becker
New construction has made terminal into a beautiful facility. Street access will be impressive when totally finished.
Michael Cochran
Great way to visit Seattle and not have to drive around and pay for parking. Trip both ways was under 30 bucks which is cheaper then gas from Shelton, and gave my girlfriend and I a chance to sit back and relax after walking around the city all day. Kinda a long wait between ferry's but the company I had made it worth it will definitely be going back for another trip soon
Jewel II
Yay! Almost home! Very sweet of them to get me on the ferry ⛴ at the last moment! Always great customer service!
eileen schiro
While, I understand that this area is under construction, the access from the street level to the terminal for those with luggage or people who have mobility issues is extremely difficult. Signage to elevator access that is across a large lot/drive thru is minuscule and confusing. Hauling baggage up the access stairs is a hard task for even the fittest of people. We were very lucky to find a young ferry worker who helped us. Kudos to him.....this little old lady is very grateful for the helping hands.
Jeremy Leishman
Considering the dock being located on the waterfront, I don't believe it is as busy as other docks.
Easy to find, plenty of paid parking all around, lots of security cameras around, fairly clean and well kept.
Michele White
Sunsets are amazing in August. And construction and remodel at the ferry dock is almost finished.
charley cook
Great View of West Seattle! You can catch the water taxi certain times a year from here as well as the Vashon Southworth Ferry. There's a lot of construction in this area until they finish the parks on the waterfront. Parking is pricey and scarce.
Roy Chao
First time taking the Water Taxi Seattle ferry to reach Pike Market. I enjoy the ride.
Joe Stephenson
Honestly I was dreading my first ferry ride here. But I am glad to have been wrong. Quick and easy. Honestly it's to expensive but hopefully that will change after Covid.
Moni
This is one of favorite pastimes...parking my car on Bainbridge Island and walking on the ferry to Seattle for a day or weekend of exploration! As a walk on...no fee for the ferry from Bainbridge to Seattle...then it's under $10 to come back across!
So, get out and explore this amazing city...or come visit us on the west end!
Niños Cruz
Very well organized although the construction going on right now make it little bit hectic because of traffic. The entrance is kind of tricky you got to watch for the signs leading you to the ferry dock. It has public restrooms subway taco del mar and a coffe shop. The entrance is on the intersection of jackson and alaska way
Kevin Druin
It's been under construction for a very long time but crews manage to keep movements organized well. The new terminal is coming together and will be so nice when complete.
Dalton
The dock is dealing with construction so be patient but as far as they’re going now everything is smooth. There’s not that much seating especially now with Covid. But I had a great experience the last four Sundays as I go to Bremerton every Sunday for dinner.
Business Account
Seattles ferry dock is being remodeled from the old to the new. It doesn't have any of the places in it like the old dock did but once remodel is finish I'm sure it will look 👍. …
Robert McClure
It is what it is! You can get a ferry to Bainbridge or Bremerton and that's that! Subway and an ice cream shop. Everyone is always super helpful and I'm thankful for the service!
Patrick Flanagan
Undergoing a lot of construction right now. Pay attention to the detour signs.
S. Brent Lee
Was my first ferry ⛴ and very cool. Besides my daughter knocking my Oakleys in the water lol
Bryant Ulmer
No complaints everyone is professional, purposeful & prompt. #lastcall
Ang G
We live near from here. Far. I can't say I've ever even been on a ferry. Especially one this large. Saturday lines are loonngg. Get there early to go to Bainbridge island. We waited about an hour. There schedule is a little off. We departed 25 minutes late. The weather was cloudy, of course. So, the ride wasn't as scenic. Oh! Go to the restroom in the market! The outhouses here are disgusting.
KerinMzR
Caught a ride to Bainbridge and back... Efficient, even during construction!
Nikki “Nix” Künz
Love taking the ferry. Always worth the view. Ferry is always clea , especially amidst this COVID-19 pandemic.
Donna Quiroz
The "new" Coleman Dock in Seattle is spacious, and the attendants keep the area safe, while janitorial staff keep it clean. It is clearly marked for social distancing concerns, and masks are required as the new norm requires.
The announcements for sailing are still human generated, and some are hard to understand, but it is a personal responsibility to watch schedules for smooth travels.
Construction is still underway, so expect improvements in the future.
Prudence Lahti
They are doing construction so it was a bit confusing to find the pedestrian entrance. I can cut them some shack as they are working to make improvements. Worker who was addressing those waiting for ferry was difficult to understand and seemed crabby. Everyone was confused.
Amy Paris
Things are improving with the renovation but limited services for food etc.
RovingFox “RV Adventures”
Even though it's under remodeling, it seems to run smoothly.
650NINJARIDER
Much nicer since the upgrades, still under construction.
Flying Fish
New part of the building is great. Will be glad when the whole project is finished.
Rebecca Meikle
It's a bummer they don't serve food anymore! Seattle to Bainbridge Island run.
p o
Great view of the Seattle skyline. Travel with your car on the ferry to Bainbridge island and explore local shops
Joseph Cash
The most organized and efficient dot service I have ever experienced. The ride across is the icing on the cake.
Sue Goodwin
Ferry rides in Seattle are 2nd to none. Views, comfort and nice locations are worth the ride
Suzanne Rowley
Fun place to go and take out of town visitors . Or locals. Enjoy the ferris wheel. Great views. Love wings over Washington and Kidd Valley burgers.
David Esterl
Interesting up dates from construction. Go online to get updates at WSDOT delays or cancellations. Ooops, I forgot to take great pic of Mt Baker in the sun halfway across Salish Sea. Next time
E.L.
Cities always look better at night lol
Helena Funny
We took a ferry that departing from Colman Dock to Bermerton. The journey provided us with the wonderful views of Seattle City Skyline, which I would like to share with you.
Brian Krueger
Undergoing construction currently that will last another two years. 2024 forward should be ready to go.
Tay Jones
Quick service and wasnt long trip
R Tan
The ferry was 45 minutes behind and I hear they cancelled the one after, but I still rate it well because it still has the best views and I don't have to drive around. Just don't plan with a tight schedule!
P Kittler
Even if there's a long ferry wait, there's always beautiful things to see.
Florian Schweizer
You should take the ride to Bainbridge. Very nice there, the ferry ride is cheap and offers a great view of Seattle.
Robert Miccio
Looks it going to be nice after all the renovations are done. Had to get ground transportation and was kinda shocked while getting a cab 4 days after the snow. That there was ice all over the sidewalk across the street. The city should be ashamed. Felt they dont care about people visiting. No regard for safety.
Stacey Rucker
This is where we took The ferry to Brainbridge island...
G Ram
Great views! Restaurants and bars in area..down from Pike Market.
Janet English
The trip on the ferry and finding a way to I5 after leaving the dock is difficult. Signs are not clear..it looks like everyone needs to be in left lane upon exit from the dock. This is not the case. Right lane can go straight and access I5, however the signage is unclear. I took a right through construction to find my way to South I5. There was little signage to help me take the left turn that would get me there without a long drive on highway 99. Be aware of this and know you can get there somehow..lol
Vitaly “Driverj” Shur
Pretty efficient with such heavy construction going on.....
Ed R
Easy and efficient, wasn't hard at all
Allen Knoll
Still under construction. Pretty easy to get in and on the boat. Surprisingly, Sundays seem to be less busy. Got on the boat right away and sailed on time. We all know how bad traffic is in Seattle so this was a surprise!!!!!!
Eric Kang
Check the schedule ahead of time, plan your trip well, otherwise you feel like in a rabbit hole
Kaeleb Connelly
Quick and easy access to the ferry. Although I highly recommend you arrive early, they can only hold about 200 cars. Also use the bathroom at home, they only have port-a-potties outside the ferry.
Happy Mick
Well it's a ferry terminal so what can I say about it, humm. The employees are very professional and the only issue is when people don't follow their instructions. If you are not a local then I think finding the entrance during all the construction is difficult so plan ahead. It's really nice to see the construction progress. Also, turn off your car alarms while on the ferry if you leave your car so others don't get their brains beat to mashed potatoes when it goes off due to ferry rocking or someone touching it while passing by. Thanks.
Finnian Pessolano
Ots quite different from what i remember from living in seattle a few years ago, but it is beautiful to look at the skyline and the straits from this location. There are busses not even ten minutes away and the stadiums are basically down the street. Seattle is a beautiful city overall, and you can walk most of downtown from Colman Dock.
lorrie hughes
Very nice the remodeling is coming along nicely
Peter Schulte
The Washington State ferry terminal has been remodeled since the last time I used it. It is sparse but there seems to be plenty of seating. The waiting lines are well marked and the turnstiles are automated so, one boarding begins, it is quick!
My only complaint is the universal complaint against line jumpers. People used the space reserved for handicap entrance to waitt and then to jump in front of us once boarding started.
Anirudh Kumar
Okay dock in Seattle with reasonable prices. However, with the current construction, access and signage was a little unclear for people new to the area.
Molly Graf (Mollywog)
The new Colman Dock is still under construction so lots of barriers inside and out and very noisy. It will be worth it once it's done, but right now very disorganized and sometimes frustrating as things move around depending on where they're working at the moment.
Brooke Paeper-Archuleta
Always a favorite! So much fun touristy stuff to do. Sometimes I forget I'm a local lol. Plus the views from any advantage point for spectacular. They make for perfect picture opportunities.
Tim Baker (Charon)
At the time of writing (29DEC21) it's under construction so it's not as good as it was or will be. Still, it has some seating and snacks available and it's not too long a walk from the market or the arenas. It's good for what it is.
david Delacruz
Under Renovation...but it is a place of awe. When you go and get the feel of being there. And you have never been. Well it's cool there though it's not a hangout place. There are many paths you can take to arrive here at the Ferry Dock in the Pioneer Square District. You can catch the Water Taxis here too as it has its own separate boarding rotunda. If ya go.
Have a great time. You might see me. It's my rest area for the time being.
Thank for reading...
Dave de la Cruz
Eric Kent
Think it will will be nice once complete, however seeing ppl shooting up heroin as you get off the ferry wasn't cool
Alisa
It was a great weekend and everything was great.
Brian Ruhe
Easiest commute is to take a ferry out water taxi! Highly recommend. Construction at the dock makes it a little more congested but still worth it!
Jenifer Higgins
Got there a little early(20 min), wish there was more available seating for those waiting. The A/C was nice though. Wish I realized my Orca card could be used to pay fare.1
Christopher Driver
Slick and easy , even under partial construction
William Asman
Went well, it was a bit confusing because you have to come from the south to get onto the ferry drive thru. The ferry drive thru winds through some construction. I only figured it out because I saw other cars going around a weird way and then getting in line for the toll booth. Ferry ride went well, pretty smooth, slow and steady.
Mumzy “Mumzy Darlin” Darlin
Ticket booth attendant was very nice, polite, and informative. Waited in a long line to enter the ferry, but no issues whatsoever. Having a great experience thus far.
Bruna Lenzi
I loved this ferry! Simply a good trip with kids!
Christyl Kennedy
Ferry wasn't crowded at all. Ride was nice and stress free. Got to stretch our legs and check out the many decks on the boat. My grandson loves it and it's better than the hour something drive to Bremerton. Worth the cost to drive on in lack of traffic and stress alone.
chris .,
will be great someday when refurbishing construction gets completed (eventually.)
Jerad Shuster
Best tourist deal in town. Fun boat ride to Bainbridge for under $10 per person.
Shelly Ann Holmes
Coleman Dock has always been a great place to go. Yesterday they were extremely helpful and accommodated a disabled person (me). Àlso in part thanks to two lovely good Samaritans, Andrew and Shea. The construction and lack of access to elevators is especially difficult. I didn't see any signs directing handicapped or the more challenged of us to an alternate ways up to the terminal. I also wondered why the ferries were so slow. Mind you, I think it's great as it may cause less chance of collisions with whales and other sea creatures or boats.
Mark Chavez
Something different to see and hangout with family.
Master Pattison
Quick and easy. This has become a staple location in my life as it's one of the last places before I se my wife again.
Mary Rausch
Hopefully the construction will end soon.. it was difficult for me.. the elevator is clear across the parkinglot.. was a 40 stair climb. Seating is limited not easy for the handicapped..
Robert Hergert
Loved the fairy boat ride! Highly recommended!
Stevi Grega
The dock will be great when the remodeling is complete. For now, it's a little hard to navigate
Amy Hua
A bit crowded but very organized place. The vending machines had a lot of trouble with the volume of ferry riders that wanted a drink and broke down often.
Yizu Lulu Yeh
A fun place to hop on a ferry to Bainbridge island
Nena Raphael
The best way to see the Seattle skyline!
Roxanne Guevara
The place could be beautiful however,. The homeless situation is a bit crazy. Everywhere I saw there was someone asking for money. The place looks sooo much better without the big highway though. There are many cool shops and awesome restaurants. Easy to just hop the ferry and spend time shopping and have a nice dinner with friends.
Darcy Taylor
It’s a mess due to construction. Both ferries vending machines will usually rip you off. The bathrooms on the car deck are gross. I’ve seen pictures of what Colman dock will look like snd it will be beautiful. Not sure how long it will take.
RACHEL S.F.
My family and I really enjoyed our time there.
Lyn Schnug
I'm sure when it's finished it will be great. However for now, all the construction makes it difficult to get to the ferry if you are walking or being dropped off.
coffee girl
Running a bit late on game day. Parked a bit far and ran to the dock. Well, let's just say I had about an hour to kill until the next ferry. This gave me time to have some coffee, walk around a bit and enjoy a bit of people watching. Nice location, lots of bicycle parking quite close. Clean restrooms and security making the rounds. The next ferry left on time filled with everyone decked out in blue and green. Fun ride.
Chris Madl
Will update to five stars when the construction of the new terminal is finished. Friendly employees, ferry is always on time. I rode the fairies every day six days a week for 4 years and I think maybe half a dozen times the ferry was a few minutes late, a few times it was more than a half hour late and maybe twice the run was cancelled. All the other runs both ways to Seattle and back to Bremerton it was right on time at any given time of day. Very impressive in my book. As a matter of fact I'm bumping them up to 5 stars right now after listening to my own review, they deserve it even with the construction hampering things from time to time.
Ujiyo Himura
Very easy to get around even with the ongoing construction.
Jenny Hines
Its great if you have the funds to drive on.... I had to take friends to AmTrak and she gave me $25 to get home. Well it turned out to be $29.45 I had &1.45 in change which meant I needed $3.... I had No more $$Money
Holly Wikoff
Fairly basic terminal to wait for the ferry. Don't get their early if you cannot stand for a long period as there are very few seats
Shayna Bagley
Currently in construction but they are doing what they can and I’m satisfied with the services
J. Blake Barnes
Beautiful outlook to see the city!
Mitchell Brown
Make sure you check if the boats are behind schedule and get to the dock at least an hour before your intended crossing. Even during COVID, the boats have been running late and very full during the weekend morning crossings while weekday mornings have been considerably lighter. No complaints about the dock itself or the crossing experience. The views from the deck are truly ridiculous.
Andrew White
Colman dock is under construction until 2023 and the changes they have made so far are good. They need more police to limit the pan handling, but otherwise the facility is clean and the bathrooms only smell like urine sometimes! Great progress my dudes.
Lorrie Hillier
Water front is being worked in. It will be so exciting when it is finished. Beautiful scenery during ferry rides to island's. Los of great places to eat , lunches, antique store. Many other attractions including the famous Pike place market.
Toymaster54
The trip takes about an hour. I do believe the ferry I took was that the 2nd longest route. Hopefully the gallie will be opened later this year. Due to the pandemic, we choose to stay in our vehicle but a person can walk around.
Jamie Brewer
It was a great day to be around the waterfront!
Sue Tucker
Always check web site on the night before you go some ferries aren't running. Great ride fun for the kids to see the water and boats.
Owen Hall
We took the 35-minute ride to Bainbridge Island. Boarding was easy, the crew members were capable and helpful, the ride was smooth, and the views were spectacular. We choose to sit outside, but indoor seating, snacks, and drinks are available. An ideal excursion for anyone visiting Seattle.
Bj Hedahl
BEWARE !!! The entrance is STILL under construction.... Finding your way as a driver or a walk-on passenger is still stupid (November 2021).... For the FOOT FERRY, you buy your ticket in another building just south of the ferry terminal and THEN WALK three or four building NORTH to wait (IN THE RAIN) for the Foot ferry ....
Marion Jarisch
The new West Seattle Water Taxi loading area is great. Overhead walkway from the State Ferry terminal makes it safe and quick. There are benches in the awaiting area. Great!
Carl Siegrist
Not a place to visit but a place to pass though when taking either the Bremerton or Bainbridge ferry. Hoping it will be much nicer after the construction is complete. Can't happen fast enough for me. All the folks working there are efficient and friendly.
lee colleton
Plenty of infrastructure, no WiFi, no EV charging, no electric ferries. Is this a climate emergency?! 🙃 …
Kay Baltz
Its under construction and if you are hauling luggage or unable to do stairs, the elevator is a long walk. Be sure to allow extra time because it is...a long way. Ticket people are friendly and smiling and the ferry is on time.
James Syrett
Still under construction but should be state-of-the-art soon. Use your GPS to find the entrance now
David Schanen (musicscene)
Great place to meet before or after a ferry ride or a walk in the waterfront. Lots of nearby parking, restaurants, galleries. Close to Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market. Don't forget to ride the Seattle Great Wheel!
Karen Sanchez
Honestly it's pretty good , but I feel they need to better there website and also put some shade, cause waiting in the sun is not fun. Everything else was great though
Tammy Drager
Terminal is spacious, but still under construction. Washington ferry terminal has a bottle refill station, restrooms, and USB power jack under the seats. Full service!
MSW
Still under construction July 2020.
Craig Olson
It's the primary ferry dock for commuters and (in summer) a must do ferry ride for tourists. Under construction now and for a couple more years results in the boats really not being on published schedules on most afternoons. Great place to go if you have a podcast or paperback to keep you occupied. Yeah I have been doing this commute for 24 years.
Tod Rodman
Undergoing total rebuild so is confusing, difficult to get to, extremely reduced waiting room. Passenger Ferry waiting area is just built... 09/2019... and is well done, but long walk during the the main terminal rebuilding.
James Trevino
Always a good experience on the ferry.
BaneDraconis
The entrance is confusing as all hell, due to construction everywhere. And it's a bit of an eyesore, compared to the old structure. Rather reminiscent of Mad Max and Waterworld, really.
Jason L
Busy and disorganized. The signage in the construction zone could be clearer. It's hard to tell if your in the right lane when you get to the toll booth.
Ruth
Tons of construction going on. It's messy, but the ferry folks keep things moving smoothly.
Robin C
I have traveled this ferry route atleast 100+ times and I have never had any problems with Coleman dock! And there is a couple places to grab a bite if you have a sailing wait.
I can't wait to see how the new waterfront will look after all the construction!
Jenni Hale
There is a ticket booth operator named Tommy who is especially helpful and friendly. He is probably in his sixties, and works the late night shift Mon-Fri. He always has a kind word and manages to display an immense amount of patience for all the passengers, some of whom are not deserving of such consideration. Some of the terminal staff are not very warm, so his consistently positive attitude stands out.
Tyler Gearardo
I come through this dock twice a day. Its not inconvenient the way they run it. I just wish the dock staff was a bit friendlier. Also, they don't stick to their schedules often. Many times closing the gates earlier than slated and even more often leaving wayyy later.
Anthony Schlacks
Beautiful area to take pictures of the downtown skyline up close. Take a ferry to Bainbridge Island or Bremerton and take in the beautiful Puget Sound views, with Mt. Rainier in the background. Best to go during a slightly gloomy, and chilly day, to really take in the PNW.
Edgar M
Every single time I go there I have a good experience waiting for the ferry I can't wait till they finish the new dock
Jeanne Crawford
Not much to say about sitting in line! Amazing how smooth they operate the ferries. Most workers are friendly.
Rachel Ringdahl
Under construction, so everything is topsy turvy, but they have good signs and are still running the ferries
Bradley Morse
Colman Dock and ferry terminal is undergoing a major overhaul. There are only basic services there no food or vendors. Of course the ferry staff is friendly and helpful and for tourists a ferry ride is the best value in Seattle.
Adonis El-Mohtar, MFA
Busy this holiday weekend yet very smoothly run .. Kudos to the dock and ferry staff. Unfortunately services in the ferry itself were not available as of yet. Soon we hope.
Ervin Grinberg
One of these days they're going to finish building the new terminal
Michalle C
Very first time out to explore to Bainbridge Island and next time I will know to go earlier in the day because when I got there lots of the restaurants and bars were closed and there was nothing fun to do so last resort was the casino
Dan Krueger
Good facilities, efficiently run. Decent wayfinding even during remodeling activities. Walking distance from decent swath of downtown, making the ferries an excellent option for commuting
Richard Mulvey
Was doing business as usual regardless of the major construction in and around the area (Removal of an elevated highway and Pier renovation were in progress during my visit).
Arthur Smith
It has a way to go, but it's certainly getting there.
Kim E. Morgan, MAT, MA
We had an outstanding day at Colman Dock.
Jim Johnson
Check out the new terminal and beware that traffic patterns are changing as they demo the old terminal and build the other 2/3. If you need the lift (elevator) , it is at Pier 30 where the foot ferry loads. For everyone else there is stairs a little south of where they used to be and the passenger walkway from 1st @ Marion St is still there via a reroute that takes a few extra minutes.
Jeff Kelso
Well, it is a ferry dock. It was under construction when we were there, but it seemed to get the job done nonetheless. If you plan on riding the WSDOT ferry to Bremerton or Bainbridge Island, it's the only game in town.
Shaun
Change is constant I have been commuting my whole life across the water on the ferry boat. Looking forward to seeing the new terminal once it's all done.
Emily R
“I’m on a boat” This star rating is subject to change. Sometimes it’s the worst experience of your life and other times you’re only 30 minutes late to something important.
Larry Green
It's an amazing view to see arriving from the ferry. Right now they are doing construction but still looks so beautiful.
Jim Bennett
The boys I definitely have to do the ferris wheel. The best time to go is near sunrise and or sunset. Each pod is Air conditioning and heating controlled and very comfortable.
Wendi Morse
Once the construction is done, it will be better, but it’s quite organized and handled
Bryan Edenfield
I visited her at her home and it was a houseboat and if I know anything about people who live on houseboats, well, let me tell you, they tend to be spies, so I wondered, should I allow this person to live in my basement? Nearby the birds asked the salmon if everything was okay, and it was not, but we do our best, don't we? There was a dolphin down the street, don't we? Don't we? Don't we? I don't know anything about boats and I ended up in the wrong place but it was a nice diversion I guess. Some people will find solace or god, others will find blades of grass. I don't know. Despair.
Clairese Yuhasz Austin
The wait for this ferry was so easy but so bittersweet to leave my dear son as I travel back home to Florida. Gorgeous trip. I loved everything about it.
William Lofthouse
Iconic Seattle! Beautiful on gorgeous days. The entire area will look so much nicer when the entire viaduct is gone.
Still a lot of construction work going on, but worth the hassle.
Dusty Crystal
Fantastic customer service and excellent staff
Zack Bryson
this experience to go to Seattle with an amazing time for our vacations. We went there we got through pretty quickly and overall staff were nice but not to over flamboyant.only problem was that the food which way overpriced granted that's acceptable considering the place that you're ordering it.
Ford Griswold
Amateur ferry car drivers make ferry workers grumpy!
Alicia Arter
The new ferry building is modern and efficient. Bainbridge riders needing ADA elevator have to walk outside and over to the next building to get back and forth - seems like there should be one in the building.
Ena M
Under construction but fairly easy to find. Beautiful place friendly staff. And not too long of a wait
Caroline Bell
My first time riding the ferry. It was a lot of fun. Local roadwork made it hard to find the entrance though.
Chris Mills
The terminal is currently undergoing construction and there is not nearly enough seating or space for walk on passengers waiting for the ferry, especially given covid.
Britt Stevens
All new terminals but still under construction no homeless individle living in the terminal! Very clean but due to construction exiting the Ferries traffic can back up and you wait for a light or 2.
Mikayla Prementine
The remodel is great and security is much improved so you can feel secure on your commute. Four stars only because construction is ongoing.
Sonja Leonard
It would gotten a 5⭐if the vending machines took cash
Doris North Ohler
Very efficient! Beautiful views of the city and the mountains and Bainbridge Island. Very pleasant to have coffee and deck.
Jorge Garcia
Beautiful city but the homeless are a big problem for tourists. Many places to eat and a lot of things to do. Bring a sweater to Seattle!!! It gets a little cold
Cc Cc
While first impression of having to wait outside in the very cold weather for a "bus" to take me to the car rental agency, the rest if the process was fairly decent. Should provide maps to newcomers, especially in evening as signage in Seattle us deplorable. Perhaps the auto rental industry can push for better signs as it wpuld cut down on the many auto accidents. Perhaps even saves lives, novel idea. However Seattle being an extremely 'liberal' area, common sense not a strong point!
Dustin Hand
Clean, not new but neat looking and kept maintained.
Alyssa Piper
First experience I was confused but there are signs EVERYWHERE to help you out. I loved how easily I could catch a ferry on short notice and on foot.
Saje Holly
Nice view of the sound
Alex Loumos
Easy access to ferries for efficient car loadining and unloading. Be cautious during viaduct demolition, as instructions from google maps lead to unusable entrance. Follow local signage instead.
William Thielen
Hey Coleman doc was fine. However I've got some real issues with the way your app has been behaving lately putting me on the wrong side of the street not getting the address is correct when working at conjunction with the lyft
plus some of the routings you give us are incredibly dangerous you just don't know the layout of Seattle streets and freeways
Levi Charles
From the peninsula getting to the city you have to go thru here. On the city side is never ending construction and homeless camps but there is also some fun stuff in the area like the ferris wheel and The CrabPot Red Robin. Best clam chowder right off the ferry. Kinda don't have a choice but go thru here from the peninsula.
Phoebe Ann Sharp
Only game in town, but they'doing their best under trying circumstances. Poor and confusing signage during construction, with a long walk to surface transportation at mysterious locations. Google Maps struggles to keep up...
kurt dahlke
Colman Dock is under construction, the temporary waiting area is small, be prepared for being crowed( during rush hour traffic)! But, you'll have great views of the city!
B R
For the most part everything typically goes very smoothly here. We like using the ferry system and when there's a wait thete are interesting places around Coleman Dock and some good food.
Darrell G Richards
What a day. Had fun. The place is bustling. In the summer that dock waiting area can get hot. The fans help but when the wait is long, as mine was, it can be uncomfortable.
Joe Becker
Major reconstruction going on there. Traffic was smooth and they had good signage.
J.Michael Smith
Its kinda confusing due to some construction but still easy to navigate
Hallie Ralls
Currently under a state of permanent construction, giving it a very transient feel. Overall they've done a good job making sure everyone is serviced during the period of change! My only frustration is that they seem to refuse to get ORCA involvement or even the ability to load ORCA cards at Coleman Dock. Why not make it easier for your customers to use your services? Seems counterintuitive, but that's just one plebian's opinion.
P Michael
The slowest construction project I have ever seen. By the time they are done, it will have taken the equivalent time span of building the Empire State Building THREE TIMES!!
Karen Lee
It's currently under construction for a while. Easy to get tickets to head on over to Bainbridge or Bremerton. Use the kiosks further in the terminal than the ticket counter person for a faster queue time. Orca Cards e-purse is accepted!
Joseph Johnson Jr
Take the Ferry over to Bainbridge or Bremerton. Cheap ride, less than $10 round trip, and you'll get the most epic views you can find in the city.
Nicholas S Hoffman
The WSF employees are doing good job of keeping everything moving while undergoing construction and in spite of having multiple vessels experiencing unscheduled maintenance issues.
Charlene Mc
Always a beautiful place to be at. Usually i head for Waterman dock. I have spent the last 35 YRs returning to these local waters around waterman dock and coleman dock..seeing the ships/ferries seagulls and skyline never grows old. Peaceful always. Beauty kept by local residents is a plus ! "Society" in Kitsaps streets may be growing "Ugly", but, our shores remain safe and beautiful !
Sea Otter
Current traffic routing is truly weird and a bit dangerous for passing pedestrian and bike traffic.
VALERIE LYNN WILLIAMS
Where else can you catch ferries across Puget Sound? Construction is lousy in the area but I was on foot walking around the Sound to Bremerton or Belfair or Bainbridge Island are not feasible options plus it's pretty. If you have never been on a ferry you should just for the experience the views from the boat are worth the ride.
Richard Eason (MystaRE)
Old Seattle history. It's a very fine service. However, Orca usage is only limited to E-purse. You can't use any monthly service which I totally disagree with but that's a personal opinion.
Robert Mclaughlin
At the moment of this post it is under construction, and will be until 2023. A trick we have learned as a walker from Bremerton or Bainbridge is to buy your tickets for return trip when you arrive so no lines when you leave. The elevator needs to be update, little scary for handicap. Use the brick taxes to get to the ball parks.
Sue Fox
They're doing construction by the dock, but the signs are clear to tell you where to go. The ferry workers are helpful. Ferry left on time.
Ann Koi
Nice dock, but construction in the area makes it kind of a pain to be dropped off nearby and walk there carrying a bunch of luggage
Ted Mezgebu
Lots of construction projects happening around here
Juniper System
Love riding these ferries. We visit Bremerton a lot and it's a lovely journey (with some anti-seasickness medicine at least. We get seasick easy!)
Erin Hundtofte
You catch ferries here. It's a great place for ferry-riding. The whole dock and terminal is under construction right now, so pack your patience, and maybe a hard hat. At the north end of the dock is a separate dock for catching the King County Water Taxi to West Seattle or Vashon, or the Kitsap fast foot ferries to Bremerton, Bainbridge, or Kingston.
Tonja Warner
The dock is in transition now, but the employees are still very professional and I don't mind making the trip so much because of that...
Hannah C McKay
This is where you go to get the ferry to both Bainbridge island or Bremerton. There's a ticket window with about 3 booths where you can buy your tickets to either destination. There is a small coffee shop- sandwich-news stand and a information center. There is a small amount of seating and 2 sets of bathrooms for waiting walk on passengers. If you have an orca card there's no need to buy a ticket because you can just scan your card at the turnstiles. If not then you will scan your ticket at the turnstiles..Bremerton ferry line is on the right side and Bainbridge is on the left.
If you are driving on just follow the Ferry signs till you get to the entrance. Tell the worker at the booth what your destination is and pay the fare and you will be directed to correct area to park. Getting there with time to spare is important because at commuting times will be busy and you might end up in the overflow section either hoping for a slim chance to get on or to be the first to get on the next ferry.
Bainbridge island crossing time approx 35 mins
Bremerton crossing time approx 1hr
Patty Jones
Under construction, so it's still a mess. But the WSF people are working hard to keep it as organized as possible.
Brandon Wilson
If you're driving on during a busy time of day, be sure to arrive 20-30 min before departure to guarantee you'll make it.
Brandon
Ferry is affordable and beats driving through traffic and finding parking in Seattle. Most of the things to do are in walking distance and there are plenty of lime bikes around to see the farther locations
Hillary Sibley
No wait! Got right on the ferry. Smooth ride straight into the city.
Jordan Bair
-1 Star for current state, 3 stars for previous set up, and 5 stars for the dream we’re being sold. Right now, this place is a disaster but it’s under construction, what do you expect?
Bill Walters
If you are visiting from out of state be sure to confirm you are getting on the correct ferry. the echo in the terminal makes it hard to understand so double check
cupoftea
Such a cool place!
Tom Fryzel
I was in Seattle for vacation last year and paid way too much for a very brief harbor tour. This time, back for business, and with a few weeks in the Emerald City, I changed my plan.
This time I took the ferry to Bremerton to go see the Navy museum and also because it gave me a long cruise. For $8.10 per person, round trip, this is the real deal. The ride has exceptional views and is 5 times less than what I paid last year.
The ferry system is probably the worst kept secret tip for tourists to get onboard and take in this amazing city. So, why fight it?
Jason Staczek
The dock provided adequate moorage for my vessel. Again.
Lynne Studer
Always relaxing. They are a vital part of my safe plan for violence free life
Lance Thames
There rebuilding the place, and the road in front of the exit. Thank you city planers keep up the great work.
Chris Carson
With all the destruction and construction in the area, I am surprised the ferry service runs as smoothly as it does. Traffic flow is confusing but survivable.
Amberlea Rose
Under construction, so difficult for pick ups and long walks from ferry to street. After rebuilt will probably be better
Nick Cummins
Colman Dock is the ferry terminal in Seattle that has service to Bremerton (1 hour) and Bainbridge Island (35 minutes). I commuted from Bainbridge for about a year and typically found my waits on the Seattle side to be spacious.
There are convenient machines that allow you to pay for your tickets without having waiting in line.
This place could use a bit more in terms of food services, as the options are rather limited especially in the later hours of the day.
Only other thing I would like to note is that this particular area of downtown tends to have a high concentration of homeless. I don't judge them, and in fact often offer money, but it's just something that is worth noting.
Michael Blodgett
Nice ferry terminal but watch your belongings lots of homeless junkies hanging around
Jaylin
As of January 2022 the bridge thingy that goes up and down so people can get on the ferry is broken.
fumei lin
A fun ferry ride I am very proud to share with every one of my friends visiting Seattle. Viewing the waterfront skyline at night from the returning ferry is amazing every time.
Lane Oneway
I love taking the ferry from here. It will be so beautiful when this is all completed
Peter Horanyi
The ferry terminal. Nice but the bathroom leaves an olfactory impression.
Dennis Barclay
Its the nicest of the ferry terminals. Always nice and clean , the people that work there are usually helpful.
Tso “Chucky Cheese” Pigu
It's a dock.
I give it 5 stars because It didn't fall apart. It held up passengers perfectly. We got on to the boats as advertised. Wow.
NITE OWL STUDIO
Fun ride.
Bruce Baker
Close toPike's Place Market
Cheyenne Harris
First time on the ferry very cool experience! Tickets are reasonable cheap round trip or one way, vehicle or walk on.
akshay reddy
Amazing ferri ride
Lisa Widner
Wow, if I were anything but alert and inventive I'd be lost, as the path to the ferry is unbelievably wonky!
Devon McWeeny
Nice change of pace to ride round trip, serves good beer upstairs, fun to find a quiet spot to make out in as well ;)-
Brooke Mahnken
Maybe someday it will be cool. But it's always under construction. So it's a construction site that you have to hang out in while you wait for the ferry...
Bryan Hites
Looking better every day, but the constant redirecting can get old. Can't wait until they're done!
Roguegunn Works
The dock in Seattle is not the same as the one on Bainbridge. It is just a place where you load on board. I wish they had more of the maritime experience there. More history.
Robert Crocker
Dock was fine as always unless down a boat and ones running fall behind.
Zane Rhea
Excellent fish, farmer's market and general market with large variety of stores. Fish market is on street level.
john t
Pretty great views of the city. Worst part is waiting at the Dock. Ngl. Still totally worth it...
Finn
sometimes difficult to navigate but overall a nice place. lots of shops and places to eat!
Justin Regis
I'm excited for what this will EVENTUALLY be like with the construction completed. For now - it's kind of a mess.
Autumn Brown
The new terminal is a lot more walking. Bainbridge side always gets more seating. Bremerton gets treated like 2nd class citizens. A lot less pan handlers in the new terminal.
D Cool
It,s good to see my home here in Seattle growing like it is. I hope the poor can still find a spot in the fast growing city I call my home.
Lori Reed
Fun and much to see and do. Just walk and stop and enjoy the day! More fun to just go without plans.
Scott Gordon
It was okay. Port-a-pottys for restroom facilities which was poor. I don't understand why since you have to line up and wait for the ferry, they don't put in better facilities for folks waiting.
Mrs Means
I enjoy the remodel of the place I just wish they was more than just vending machines for food.
Rick Sutton
Colman Dock is currently under a huge modernization. For now the facility is functional. Will revisit review upon completion of the huge remodeling process.
Trisha Robinett
Besides the long line & wait...it was a very relaxing fun stop..!! Multiple food vendors, gift shops, ferry boats, ferris wheel, aquarium & sights all in one stop... 😊 …
Michael Lodato
Bambridge island ferry fun shops, eating and make sure you hit the icecream shop before you leave. Take pictures on the boat of the views coming back to Seattle.
Sami Biro
The water taxi is super fun on a nice sunny day and you get views of alki and downtown as well as Vashon Island and Blake Island!
Kurtis Sterling
Under construction. Changes are happening daily. Be patient. Give time. The tollbooth workers are people too.
Ruth Replogle
The ferry dock is undergoing a major overhaul and is a bit of a mess at the moment. I Googled the plans, and in a couple of years the ferry dock will be lovely.
Kai d'T
Under construction and parking/pick-up for the ferry is not the best. But one would assume typical of a large metro area.
Linda Dieckhoff
Still under construction. Seems like they have been forever.
Alex Fane
Best way to get to Sequim or Port Angeles quickly. Choice of two sailings, Bremerton or Bainbridge, each is about 30 mins less driving time than Fontleroy to Southworth via Vashon island and passage is quicker.
David McDonald
Didn't have any problems with the construction and the wait was not bad.
Denzyl Dcruz
It's ok..... wish it had a nice restaurant overlooking the bay
Evan
It's a ferry terminal. They have ferries. Bremerton is good, Bainbridge is great. Easy to find a snack or cup of coffee nearby.
George Suarez
Very clean great ride on boat
Cynthia
Love the open air.. best way over to West Seattle since the bridge is out.
Avielle Jannsen
Expedient in getting us off the ferry, but very hectic in getting off the property due to significant construction.
Amber Warren
On the way out if Seattle it's more expensive then coming into the city. No Wonder so many people get trapped and live homeless here!
Alice DeSoto
Even during the rebuild the staff is efficient and clear. Entrance is down Alaska toward the volcano a few blocks.
Scott Michaud
Our first trip over to Bainbridge Island. We took the ferry with our minivan and it only cost $24 with two people.
Katy Corbeil
Nice dock. Well maintained. Signage is easy to read. Not being from here and not being familiar with this area the signage was great.
corinne Johnson
I'll sure be glad when all the construction is done.
susan oreiro
Small waiting are due to construction. No place to get coffee or food. Plan ahead or get it on the ferry.
Scott Cameron
Confusing to get your car in line for loading. Otherwise, they are helpful and it was a good experience taking the ferry.
wayne boyle
Had a great time here
Evan Sarina
Busy and a little packed. But restrooms and public areas were clean.
Jessie G
Lots of construction around this area give yourself a few extra min to your travel time
Mark Poepping
Got to Bainbridge but on the third ferry. Watch for super busy times (and Saturday is one busy day).
Stephanie Carpenter
Easy to navigate! Friendly staff very clean and they have taken all Covid-19 restrictions!!
Jim Sorenson
Getting there with all the changes still nice, waiting and good bordering flow. Security with dogs still nice to see.
Larry Marta
Perennially under construction, some day they'll finish, of course I won't want to work myself out of a job to soon either🤔 …
Da Suit
I liked it you can also buy food to
Molly Proctor
Hot in the summer with lots of bodies crammed inside waiting for (usually delayed) ferries. A lot of vagrants outside as well as inside, had two very scary men follow me inside the terminal while harassing me
MERIMAR NI FIACH
The new terminal is huge! And beautiful. The expansion we need, & will come to love.
Martha Pike
Nice, organized, and clean. The service superb. Not enough schedules available though
Bill Vale
They are right in the middle of a huge upgrade. It's kind of Confusing having two ferries loading At the same timeThere. Bainbridge on the left and Bremerton loads on the right
Mahta
enjoyed the ferry but to my chance every time i go there , there is some construction going on
M B
My client was really into the fans.
Duane Brown
On going construction is challenging. Ferry schedule is terrible.
Matthew Daves
Construction galore! Still easy enough to maneuver through. Plus the ferry system is awesome.
David Metz
This is a stay cation option with amazing possibilities. The ferry system is an awesome way to see Washington from a new vantage
Scott Stackhouse
They are just a little slow on getting you off loaded; but they are short handed.
Gracie Chan
Be prepared to wait long line for the ferry. Wait can take 40-60 minutes on a weekend.
Nicholas van Orton
The ride to Bainbridge is very inexpensive and so worth it. Best views of the skyline for a few dollars. Must do!
Mikel Borgaard
Nice area in downtown Seattle. 4 stars due to homeless tents and sketchy people in the area.
Manuel Cabana
The place is gorgeous at night and crowded during the day. Lots of cool shops nearby.
Kryssie Beard
Good place. Mostly clean, several food options available when open. Staff is mostly helpful.
Zander
The ferry system is a point of nostalgia for me, I love to take it every time I visit home!
Joseph Bourdeaux
1st ferry ride it was fun
Mahdi Albassam
Still under construction. No vendors, restaurants etc Will look great when completed. Ferry docks complete.
alex vasquez
A bit more congested then normal but good experience overall
Anne McIntyre
They have restaurants and bathrooms available as well a nice sitting area
Tim Kusherets
I am always a fan of the area, and the boat ride is fun, but the huge drawback is that they advertise public wifi and there is not.
Michael Smith
Still alot of contruction going on. I would suggest if you are driving get in line a few minutes ahead of schedule.
Ben Pischke
Very fun. Huge cookies were delicious and Farris wheel was fun.
Randy Weich
Very friendly. Answer questions. Left feeling good. On the ferry, beautiful. Treated well.
Nicholas H Briggs-Campbell
Great employees! Thank you ferry workers. ⛴
h. b.
The birria res was yummy.
Juan Herrero
Nice ferries. However the ferry terminals are dated and unfriendly to the public experience. Needs an upgrade
jack weelmaa
Clean, easy on / off . Ticket sales and information easy access
Rick Scollay
Fun place to visit lots of cool shops
Kathleen N
Awesome customer service from the WSF!! Beautiful ferry ride and when the remodeling is finished in the Seattle terminal I know it will be beautiful!
Christina Lott
At this time I just was trying to catch the ferry to go home from picking up friends in an airport didn't get out go to the restaurants or anyting but great fairy ride
C Mc
Still under construction and gettkng easier ro navigate
Larry Kapigian
Quick, clean and Friendly
Lonnie Hyde
Historic, refurbished, beautiful view of the waterfront, Ivar"s is a stone throw away.
Sal Spils
I use it all the time to commute to and from Bainbridge island. Great ferries although sometimes late
Thomas Kaminski
A little construction but still easy to use. Great experience. Helpful staff.
JOHN LOCKE
Washington State Ferries do a very good job of moving people through the food on the fairies is good views are spectacular
GREATDANE206
Cool spot downtown by the piers lot of food nearby good views
Blaise Vitale
A decent dock. Will probably be much better after the construction ends.
Jae Tee
Easy and efficient. Will definitely use the ferry service here again.
Dan L (Khakinurse)
Currently because of the viaduct closure it is a bit of a mess getting into this ferry terminal. Normally I would give it four out of five.
Alex Sedlacek
Could be better but overall a nice mass transit hub. Lots of homeless people on-hand nearby.
Jerome Morin
Ugly day at Colman dock today weather is terrible it’ll be awesome when the sun comes out
Ryan Galantuomini
Not alot of cars on the boat was a quick trip kinda nice
James Buckmaster
Lots of confusion, even for locals. But I think the outcome will be worth it, eventually.
Marcelo Romero
Convenient service and food and drink on board large ferry. All good
Patrick Heys
All the work has made it look amazing
Jim Burgraff
Great ride, very nice chairs and spectacular views
Jacob Asher
Hard to get to. Steps no ramps for luggage unless you go way out of way to elevator
Leona Soto
Never took a ferry before. Was actually cool
Richard Maria
They need to rework the signs to make it easier to drive on during the construction.
J Z
Friendly staff helped with finding the bicycle entrance for the ferry
Cheryl Pearson
It's a good places, if you don't mind crowds
Bill Slach
Busy, delayed exit from the ferry due to other ferry arriving first
Brittany Gulbrandson
I'm sure it will be lovely when they're finished with it, but for now...
Sergio Montoya
Excellent experience
Chris Woodell (Chris)
Tourist must and local once. Its pricey, but what isn't these days a decent amount of things to do, good for an hour or two.
Chad Gallup
You can take a ferry or use the restroom, perfect 5/7
rockwa sequim
What can you say?, it's the downtown Seattle ferry terminal. You must check the times carefully and be a little early.
grace
great dock, and nice veiws, especially if you walk on.
Colleen Kragen
There is major construction going on. Most of the restaurants are closed. It's difficult to get around and very crowded. Looking forward to the renovations being done.
Maria Davila
Fun place to visit and catch a ride to nearby islands.
dana maree
It was ok since they changed it takes a little bit longer to drive on. But worth it, less wear and tear on cars
Michael Marinella
A little confusing if you haven't been in awhile. Sign directions are good, just be alert.
Doray Wiggins
At least inside out of weather, overcrowded due to 2 cancelled ferries due to maintenance.
Tim Garner
The place is a mess during construction
Rachel Anheier
In my opinion, the street lights should favor drivers when the ferries are unloading.
Tmac Macomber
Not marked well to get you to the right ferry lane. People cutting across lanes and staff didn't stop them.
James Christie
It’s starting to look better. The new dock looks like it’s gonna be nice.
James B
Confusing until it gets finished. Been working on it for a looòong time.
Alva L Smith
It's going to be nice when they finish the rebuild.
Steve Tate
Pulled up to the ticket booth, purchased a ticket and was the first one on the ferry after waiting in line for around 15 minutes.

Blue Heritage
Fast ferry staff very friendly and helpful especially considering how hectic it is there.
just pic
Good place, which is under renovation, so the infrastructure who improve further
Craig “Captain Awesome” Walker
Several tours. Do Blake Island dinner or Lake Union locks. Dress for exposure
Michael Misinonile
Massive rebuild and nice leaving SeaTown....please help this tagged, overgrown homeless city!
Ashley Tennesen
There isn't enough seating and I just can't wait till all the construction is all over 😣 …
james jean
Could really be more organized... Not adjusted well to Covid...
Aurora A
Love the waterfront now that the viaduct is gone.
Brian Schmitz
As always, the terminal staff were great!
William Iles
The doctors, dock that ever was, I dock, you Dock, everybody " Dock- Dock" ol Mc Dock Dock had a boat that docked eee-eye-eee-eye-ooo!!
Christi Nixon
Still under construction. It can be a bit confusing as to where to go to pick up folks arriving.
Reba Starr
Will be great when construction is done.
