Reviews of Salt Lake City International Airport
Gourmand
I like the airport for the location. It is super close to the main city (10-15 minute drive). They also have public transportation in the form of a rail car that goes from the airport all the way into downtown. This makes it extremely efficient and affordable to get from the airport.
The airport in Salt Lake is really long with long walks between A and B gates. The massive windows gives great views of the mountains during the day though!
I also appreciate how clean the airport is!
Derrick Grant
I was extremely impressed with the Salt Lake
City International Airport. I had a 3 hour layover at the airport and I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness, layout and options at this airport. There was a phone/electronic charging port at literally every seat at the Delta gates. The food and shopping options were bountiful and convenient. The airport and gate information boards were very informative and well laid-out throughout the airport. This is a great airport for your travel needs.

The new SLC airport recently opened. Wow, what a tremendous space! There is too much to mention here so allow me to note which features most impressed me. The space is large, open and quiet, yes quiet, great acoustics. The retail establishments are a combination of local and national brands. Utah has been updating their alcohol rules for decades, yet I was pleased to see a full bar reflecting the morning sun when I changed planes here on March 17, 22. The restaurants are plentiful and diverse. The clothing stores are high end. There is a piano being played into the beautiful space at the beginning of the North concourse. Power for devices is everywhere. The airport has set up a system using QR codes to text your order to each restaurant and pick it up when you exit your plane or if you want to avoid any limes. There is more. Check out the kiosk and flyers around for more details.

Loved the airport. I arrived and departed through this airport during my visit to Salt Lake City. The airport was near, and clean. The washrooms were very clean and new. The security check was good, and went smoothly. My flight was in concourse A, however I walked to concourse B to see off my husband. There are multiple good food options in the airport. I hardly find this good food scene in the airports.

The airport is very modern looking. I liked how the bathroom was very clean. The TSA screening system at this airport is very efficient. The moving walkways made it a piece of cake to get to the gate. I also liked the big windows and art installation, they make the airport look welcoming.
5/5 good service 👍
Happy flying! ✈️

What a beautiful airport! It was awesome looking out the windows on a sunny day seeing the surrounding mountains.
We had a 3 hour layover and it was helpful having something pretty to look at.
Finding food was a little challenging. There were plenty of specialty options but I was traveling with a teenager. I needed something traditional, not a vegan smoothie or artisan pizza.
Thankfully I found a place with chicken waffle sandwiches and burgers.I had to walk really far to get there. I got very lucky and there was no line, every where else at that moment had at least 10 people in line.
Greg Eakins
This might be the nicest airport I've ever been to. It looks like it was recently built or renovated, and they spared no expense.
Organization is great - it's very easy to get around this place. They have a wide range of shops in the two terminals, and best of all, the place is ridiculously clean! The bathrooms are large enough to accommodate traffic and not always be nut to butt with other travelers.
I interacted with some of the night staff here and they were really friendly.

Great selection or restaurants and shops. Restrooms were conviently located and well maintained. Almost every seat in the waiting areas has its own charging station. Hand sanitizing stations were frequent throughout Airport. Multiple tvs were found in most gates. All staff we interacted with polite and friendly. We had a multiple hours layover and it helped to really pass the time.
Shana Denise
Really nice Airport. Had a lot of different places to eat and it's extremely open. If you're going out to be Gates it's like a 30 minute walk. Hopefully they can get a sky link or a sky Trail to get from gate a to gate B because that walk is just way too long. Other than that the airport is extremely nice and has a lot going on for itself. So glad to see that they decided to upgrade the airport and also allow for more spacing. Mask mandate is still in effect.

This was a really nice airport layover stop. My terminal was clean and had lots of seating in the gates areas. There were quite a few shopping and dining options to choose from, but the highlight was the new Delta Sky Lounge. If you're flying out of Salt Lake City and fly Delta, I would highly recommend visiting the lounge if you haven't already.

Nice airport and lots of great stores and restaurants! Cafe Rio, Starbucks, Panda Express, Panera Bread, Coach, Mac and more! We had a long wait time by the gate but kids had a good time at the airport. Also, when heading out of the airport, make sure to take the stairs or elevator to private passenger pick up or it could get confusing.
JamiSue Sharp
Since the renovation, everything feels so clean and updated. There are many great stores to stop and shop in. Lots of great eating options. They have the walking paths that can get you to your gates faster as well. Very helpful and friendly staff. Every where we walked was clean and organized. Charging and outlets in the chairs which is the best thing ever when you come off a long flight and need that extra charge before heading into another. Thankfully more and more they are updating and helping passengers find ways to feel comfortable in an airport.
Brandon Musselman
What an amazing airport for Salt Lake City! It's big, beautiful, and clean. There are so many more food, and shopping options compared to the old airport! Can't wait to see it when it's fully finished. It will be very comparable to other large airports around the country.
Kishore Dasararaju
Beautiful. Clean. Good choices for food and drink. Some fast food services were closed around 10 pm. Walked from end to end to get my steps for the day. Wall architecture on the way out is beautiful, wavy, cloud like, mesmerizing.
Vishwa Seneviratne
A decent airport moderately crowded during peak times. Lately I think it has gotten busy. But it's a good airport for your transits. I had a short layover, it was really quick. Fairly efficient. Taking transit through via this airport likely gives you the opportunity to see the amazing mountain terrain around Salt lake City.
Hanh Nguyen
I’ve been though this airport a few times and it seems somewhat efficient. They have many shops and usually seems clean. Although this time around they are doing renovations so you have to walk white far to get to baggage claim. But I’m sure that when they are done, it will be all the better .
Christopher Johnson
Probably going to be my new layover airport! The view flying in/out of the city is so gorgeous! Should you choose to stay inside, a friend and I ended up with an unplanned 7-hour layover and were plenty entertained within the walls (we'd been in the city for two days anyway). It's a beautiful airport and very clean. Lots of traffic in Terminal A! Lots of good shops, places to hang out, and if you have a long layover (2.5+ hours), you absolutely could take a ride downtown, see Temple Square, the capitol, or the university, and make it back in time.
Terminal B was a bit more spacious and relaxed. Access via the light rail is extremely easy; a train leaves 3x/hr (every 20 minutes). There is no ground transportation access from Terminal B.
All of this said - don't count on making a < 1hr. layover here, in my opinion. The underground corridor connecting the two terminals is not that far of a walk, but this is a large airport.
Tim Frantz
The airport is divided into 2 concourses : A and B. It is a modern airport with lots of space to roam about. The seating all has power so you can charge your stuff. They have lots of places to eat and shop. The bathrooms are clean and big. The scenery is also amazing! I'm looking at snow covered mountains all around. The flight coming in was bumpy. Looks like Salt Lake may have been a large lake basins at one time? The also have recycling bins and hand sanitizer throughout. Great airport.
Tanner Godfrey
Beautiful new airport! Security has always gone very smoothly with their new system. Be warned if you’re in terminal B (southwest)- there’s one of the longest airport walks in existence. The parking system works great as well!
Glory Spurlock
What a gorgeous new airport! At least the terminal is, anyway. I wasn't flying, so that's all I got to see. But there is so much stuff inside the terminal, including shops, that you can enjoy with your ticketed friends and family. And it's huge, open, light, and just beautiful.
And a heads up that there are multiple check-in locations in the terminal based on how you got there. One on one floor for the drop off lane passengers. One on another floor for the parking garage passengers. Maybe even another one elsewhere too. If you're meeting people "at the check-in desk", clarify which one!
It'll be nice when they maybe get a transportation system or something in place to get to Concourse B, apparently it's up to a 20 minutes walk from the Terminal, depending on your gate. Make sure to allow plenty of time to get to your gate!
No free parking, FYI. It's $5 for the first hour. I was there less than 2 hours and paid $10. Payments are taken at the exit gate lanes well outside the parking garage. No kiosks in the terminal or garage for payments.
Can't wait to fly out of here, myself!
Ed Liu
Super fancy airport. Clean and convenient.
There are many nice stores. Lego, Mac, iStore, TripAdvisor, shake shack, and so on.
We arrive and walk to the car rental building, the walkway and direction is very easy to figure out.
Ramon Perez
It was under a massive renovation while I was there, but the views were spectacular. Had all the trappings - food, souvenirs, bathroom, moving walkways, etc. It's going to be a very nice airport, but for now you're taken off the plane in a sort of airplane parking lot, bussed to the terminal, and then herded through a maze of temporary hallways.
Ellyn Davis
I was very pleased with this airport. It is very clean and modern, with lots of natural light and windows to see the beautiful view of the mountains outside. Every seat has an outlet for charging, which is amazing. Easy to navigate with lots of food and drink options.
Leo Stanko
Bright, Open, good restaurants and bars. I love White Horse, Squatters and Roosters. It's a walk to Terminal B, however that should soon improved. If you are in the higher number B Gates you might end up with a bus ride to your plane too! Plan for a little extra time as construction finishes, and enjoy the beautiful terminal.
Shahadat H. Rakib
This "new and improved" airport feels like a joint architectural design venture created by M. C. Escher and Hieronymus Bosch. If the Amtrak still ran between SLC and where I need to go, I really would take the train instead of having to go through this airport.
Beth Fine
Great service at Delta today. We were traveling with two dogs and a bunch of bags and the line and security went through quickly without delay. Flight left on time. We ate at the market Grill in Terminal A for breakfast and it was all great
Tree-Fan Events
One of the nicest airports on the west coast, the design is very appealing, the screening super efficient, the waiting area just wonderful, plenty of food options, healthy and not, add a tram and this could be one of the top airports in the country.
Lily Bloodworth
This is a very large , beautiful, and clean airport! The only problem was that we had walked at least 15min to pick up our luggage because we took American Airlines- the furthest gate from baggage claim.
J G
This airport is good overall!
I was reading some of the reviews on this airport, and from my experience flying through here using it as a connecting international flight, I didn’t feel any racism at all. I am Colombian and my wife is Mexican. We went through U.S. customs and then TSA and had no issues at all. On the contrary, they were nice, even funny the TSA agent we were talking to lol.
The airport is big from what I can tell. It is well organized, and signs are very visible, it just me that I racing trying to catch the next flight that I don’t look we’ll enough lol.
One thing I did not really like was this: after our plane touched down from an international flight, we went to pick up out checked bag from baggage claims, then we went through customs. Then we had to go up 3 floors to check in again for our connecting flight. After re-checking in, we had to come down 1 floor to now go through the TAS check point. I wasn’t really happy about all that up and down, but it is what it is.
TSA line was huge… but it was moving at a good pace. They do have lots of food places and inside shops throughout the terminals, it made it very easy to find food!
Peter Burt
What a gorgeous airport with unique designs on the ceilings, walls and gorgeous sculptures. Loved how clean it was and all of the windows showcasing the snow covered mountains. Flight got in on time and catching an Uber lyft was super easy right outside on the curb. No annoying shuttle or anything like that to deal with. AND my Lyft from the airport to destination 7 miles away was only $16 thanks to the much cheaper gas in Utah vs where I’m from in California. Great airport experience.
Renee Funk
Salt Lake City Airport is by far one of my favorite airports. Great layout, very clean, easily navigable. The Delta Lounge at SLC is also very nice.
Dr. Abby
Clean, pretty, and new. It's relatively small, considering there's only one terminal. But it's expansive, so prepare to do a lot of walking. There's a Starbucks, and only one restaurant pre-security (Blue Lemon) and it opens from lunch onward. All other food options are past security. Beautiful views, large restrooms.
*The Frontier check-in counter opens 2 hours before scheduled flights.
Ty Walsh
One of my favorite airports in the U.S. very quick and easy to get in and our. Love the restaurants and the place is very clean. You need to walk between terminals and be sure not to just stand on the escalators because other people have places to go and also want to get their steps in
Stephen Lafferty
Long walks! Actually felt like I was back in time 50 years ago....had to walk underground to change terminals, then when I arrived at the proper terminal, the gate was at the very end where multiple gates each had their individual doors but just connected to a long hallway with switchback ramps that took me to a shuttle bus terminal erected on the tarmac. A circuitous shuttle ride took us to the plane parked in the middle of the tarmac.
Scenery was beautiful though, as the mountains rose out of the ground at the end of the airport.
Vy Dinh
A very new and big airport! They have long walking aisles with wall arts to make it fun. Easy lanes for Uber/Lyft rides. Good experience overall.
Chris Fellure
Pretty sure this place is a social experiment to see how far people are willing to walk inside an airport before they decide it'll be easier to drive to their destination next time. It's new, and that's nice, but with so many moving walkways how did planners not realize a tram would make for a better customer experience? I've been to a lot of airports and this one isn't terrible, but wear your walking shoes and track your steps because this is the place to get them! Take a look at the photos of endless moving walkways!
Felipe “Philipe” Lorenzo
The SLC airport at change aesthetically better than I last seen in 2015, after COVID class friends decide to visit the park in Utah, The airport in itself feels very different, I lived in SLC in 2006 till 2015 and much have changed.
Elahe Javadi
Certainly more advanced & more efficient compared to O'Hare, MCO, and Denver's! Lots and lots of food options, all seats have power outlets, TSA is more efficient w double rails, exit & pickup areas are super organized! 3 bag hooks in bathrooms, spacious bathrooms...it sure shows that Utah is a wealthy state!
Jen Burk
FOOD! Modern amenities! Beautiful. I've been through MANY airports even out of country and this takes the cake for food options. OPEN even during covid junk... no lack of service, wonderfully staffed with open signs everywhere... I ordered several dishes and tasted them all... didn't get let down once! Ingredients from all over the world... come hungry with a long layover! LEGO and phone plugs, clean bathrooms - the staff of multicultural and sitting together laughing during their lunch break. Art, sun, mountain views... POSH

Great experience at the new airport. As a Utah local I love the way they made this amazing new facility without causing any interruptions in any of my flights and we fly multiple times a year. That is impressive. Thanks SLC airport planners! It has been very nice with the new art, tall ceilings, and open layout. Security is super fast, as long as you don’t go when everyone is traveling and wants work off, and even then, definitely less than an hour. They have very up to date security screening lines that speed up things. I just really like the vibe of the new airport. Very modern. Very appreciative of the TSA staff and SLC airport staff who seem to have it together. It seems like a great place to work.
Alex Serebrov
Very well organized, compacted and pleased to the eye airport. Despite long lines they are moving very quick and their security station is very well organized with automatically bin feeding machine and numerous open stations.
Leah Day
Love the airport, especially after the remodel. I pass through often and am always grateful for the various food options. It's easy to navigate the airport and there are plenty of bathrooms as well. Security usually moves quickly too. I loved my most recent trip when they decorated for the holidays!
Sejoon C
I flew off from this airport last Thanksgiving holiday and this airport is new and some parts are still under construction but it's clean, modern unlike many airports in the us.
In general, infrastructure in the us is old and Salt Lake City is not a big city like NYC so I was pleasantly surprised by this clean airport. Never seen an airport like this new and clean in the us so far.
A Sabbagh
One of the best airports I’ve been too! Very nicely designed, very well taken care of, many cafes, restaurants, shops, stores..
Hassan Makhlouf
Although our stay was only transit for less than an hour, but the new design looks great. Clean , well organised terminal and easy to navigate.
Newsha Makooi
Beautiful and clean airport with fantastic on-site amenities. Given that it's a hub for Delta Airlines, it is a big airport so expect some long walks and crowds. It is a world-class airport!
Brendan Ryan
Really gray airport. Security is smooth, it’s incredibly clean and looks as if it was recently renovated or something. It’s even decorated for the holidays. Things seemed well run as well as I didn’t even have to wait for my bag at the baggage claim. Would travel through here again.
abesh mubaraki
Sunday after thanksgiving… and I cannot think of a better airport for a layover on the way back home. It was a beautiful morning flying in and out :-)
Denise Brabec
Very easy to navigate. A bit of a walk from our gate to baggage claim. Takes about 10 mins but they do have moving sidewalks. Has stores and food, very clean. Well marked. Easy travel right now as kids are back in school. Only took one pic from baggage claim.
Tiffany Stock
So clean, so much to do…but WOW you gotta be in shape to make it to your gate. I speed walk and from dropping the rental car with NO security line ( *pro traveler tip : salt lake has TWO tsa gates, the one in the lower level is for international but you can use it if it’s open- there is usually NO line. The line was super long at the regular tsa and it’s 6am already. They both end up at the same place! So use international and save time!)
To the southwest gates too us 50 min!!!
If you have a hard time walking … please ask for help.
Yes there is a tiny 6 person shuttle through the b gates but it’s hardly ever there or running and only 6 people fit - so don’t plan on that.
Heidi Carrington
Very busy airport.Clean from top to bottom. Many shops there to get food and drinks .So nice to hang around with multiple artwork to look at.Security officers are one of the most friendly ones I encountered.Airport shuttles run frequently. At the moment very busy , many try to fly out.Arrive at least 3 hrs b4 departure.Lunes are very long.Don't worry your time is not wasted .Artwork and cleanliness is breathtaking.
RCS S
Well organized and bathroom were clean. Busy airport but it’s manageable. Murals designs are gorgeous.
Capt. Norm
Bring comfortable walking shoes. Nice, new looking and modern airport but a very strange layout. If you are unlucky and land at or leave from terminal B, you will need to walk about a quarter mile to get to the half mile tunnel to terminal A. Then another quarter mile walk to the baggage claim area. It took me 20 minutes to do the walk. The security check lines are very long. This includes the TSA line. Allow extra time for this. The architects of this airport did a very poor job of planning. On the plus side, the car rental center is an easy walk from the baggage claim.
Prashant Patel
Very nice and spacious Airport. Good services. Very friendly staff. Lots of shopping and food places. Our checked Bags arrived quickly. Nicely decorated for Christmas.
Travis Rudd
For a new airport this is a pretty bad design. Be prepared to walk. I felt bad for the elderly folks who were struggling with their hike to the B gates. The facility is new so that was nice, and it seems like there are plenty of restaurants and stores between Gates. It just seems like they missed something in the design. All other large airports I've been to have some sort of means of getting you from concourse to concourse without requiring everyone to walk.
Matthew Monroe
Brand new terminal and two concourses. Power outlets everywhere and fast wi-fi. Be prepared to walk a lot, however. Two more concourses are being built over the next two years.
Nick Giersdorf
Great airport, no issues or delays. Getting an Uber was easier than at most airports - very well organized.
Benson Lee
Super clean, wholesome airport. The new terminal is amazing! The public amenities are awesome; bathrooms everywhere lots of drinking fountains and awesome selections of food and shopping for necessities. The gates are super easy to find and security goes very quickly. Basically everything you would want in an airport.
If you have a layover here then don't worry, you'll be entertained.
Pretty fast free wifi too!
Judy Cook
I love the new SLC airport. They have plenty of wonderful places to eat. At regular street prices. It is rather large, but pretty easy to navigate.
Sergey Blashkov
Really nice airport with modern design and unusual and good set of stores/businesses inside. This is so far the only airport with Lego store I've been to. And food selection is good too.
Everything looks new and clean inside, travelling between gates made easy. Holiday decorations look good too!
Richard Love
Small airport with a lot of potential. There aren’t many restaurants to choose from but the ones that are there are really good (for airport food). The options for fast food is very limited.
The terminals are a LONG way apart so if you’re transferring between terminals, plan for a long walk. They are, however in the process of adding another access tunnel between the two so that will help a lot.
I was unaware of the number of destinations from SLC so that’s a big plus.
aquicotui 049
Wonderful airport but very difficult for boarding airplane because remodelation process, nice design and very clean place,
I can recommend for travelers
Michael Culpepper
What an Amazing Airport.
Their TSA/ Security Area is Very Large, A Beautiful Area and one of the BEST Security areas I have Seen.
The Construction is a Mess and Taking Shuttle Buses is a Pain..
But it is a Beautiful Airport.
Peter Reaney
12/22 Had to change planes here en route from Heathrow to California for Christmas with relatives. New airport (very fresh and clean) and very large - took us a good 20 minutes to walk from our arrival gate to departure gate. Some interesting design features and also really nicely decorated for Christmas (see photo). Immigration people as miserable and unfriendly as every other US airport!
Jim Dodds
Love the new airport. I didn't explore it as much as I would have liked but it seems to run efficiently. The security check area was better than most airports. That's the benefit of being new. The greeting area for missionaries and other groups was a very good idea. The space for and choice of eateries was well thought out. I miss the long fast moving sidewalks.
Could you please post general times for how long it takes the shuttle to get you to the terminal from a certain shuttle stop at each shuttle stop. Also perhaps a map to walk from the economy parking lot to the terminal. I understand it is quicker to walk from the northwest lot to the terminal.
Eric Jeffreys-Berns
Decent modern airport in Salt Lake City. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Moving walkways to move you faster. The downside is concourse B is separated from concourse A via a tunnel so hope your connecting flight is not too tight. At Delta gate there are new charging plugs between seats at gate waiting area
Brian Choi
Really clean and big airport that has nothing. No lounges other than Delta Club. Don’t expect to have any fun here.
Also no cart. You need to pay and I don’t understand why. Not an ideal place for travelers.
Also, why no flights to Asia? Please add flights to Asia!
Esther
It's all new!! Wonderful people, beautiful murals. Very nice airport. Clean! And a great crew of people working there.
Christine Min
I've grown up in Salt Lake City and this has been my home airport since I was a little kid. I remember how the old Salt Lake airport used to be and have used the new airport just as much or maybe even more by now. In the past, I used to be able to walk through the whole airport within 15-20 minutes. It was still fairly nice and always clean; I loved my old airport.
After the renovations started and the airport kind of shut down for a while during the pandemic, I came to travel again in 2021 and the airport had changed so much. It is even nicer and bigger than before. It is still my most favorite U.S. airport out of all of the airports I have been to, and I travel quite a bit. Security is still just as quick and efficient as before, but now I think they are able to service more people in the same amount of time. There are a lot of food options, many little convenience places, and bathrooms in the middle of almost every section. The art around the airport is beautiful and I love the wall waves that are lit by many colors.
The biggest problem is now how big it is. Trying to walk from security to your gate takes about 20 minutes now. They have those moving sidewalks, but it is still SO FAR. Especially if your gate is a B gate, you will be walking for more than 20 minutes. A gates are mostly Delta gates and so if you fly with other airlines you will be walking for a while. It is just as long trying to go from your gate to the baggage claim and to be picked up. I like that we do not have to deal with a train that goes back and forth from different gates like other airports do because I find those very annoying, however, the walk is so arduous, especially if your bags are heavy. I guess you can't have both, so I'd deal with the walking, however, there are those who may struggle even harder than I do trying to get around in this airport because of the immense size, so please take this as a warning.
Brenda Maslin
Great airport, first time passing through in a long time.
Nice shops and eating locations.
Only 1 Delta Sky Club in A so if you fly out of B, give yourself time for the walk.
Mr C
Still under construction but it is looking better than ever. TSA seem under staff but they was at the times I was there moving everyone through smoothly 😉 my plane delayed it did have a flat tire but they quickly had a new plane ready for us. …
Alex Kolkena
Not bad as airports go. Wish it weren’t under construction. But, they do have a Cafe Rio 😎👍 …
Nina Murray
Nice airport. I really like the ease of port of entry. Most ports we've been through when coming back into the country have you go through customs pick up your bags and then go through tsa security again. 😒 it can be frustrating 😒 when your next flight is right away. But this airport has a separate security line that is only for those coming in on international flights, which means that there isn't a ton of people. And you don't have to go completely across the whole airport to get to your connection.
Keith Kelly
Very nice airport and easy to find your way around. Plenty of convenience options from food and beverages to apparel and others.

It’s big, it’s well “signed”, clean, and flights seem to consistently be on time. Lots of food and drink options. Overall a pleasant travel experience.

Beautiful new airport but the layout is strange for new visitors. Check in is on level 3 except for Delta. Then, proceed to security on level 2. Level 1 is street level.
Jason Avery
I love this airport! It’s my home airport so I visit often. All of my experiences have been nothing short of amazing! The food is great, airport is always clean. The newly remodeled airport is just so cool to explore.
The huge windows provide great views of the planes and our beautiful mountains.

I Love this airport! It’s my home airport so I visit often and all of my experiences have been nothing short of amazing! The food is great and it’s always clean and the new airport is just so cool to explore. The huge windows provide great views of the planes and our beautiful mountains. They also have great transportation because Salt Lake has a great rail system. I LOVE this airport and I can’t wait for you to visit.
UPDATE: Just visited again recently and it still amazes me how clean and organized this airport is and it runs smoothly without delays most of the time.
April & Robert
Beautiful mountain views all around the airport. Very clean and easy to read signs while looking for your gate.
PNW & Beyond
Friendly staff at information booths to help you ensure your on the right path. Easy access to all the rental cars with no waiting in line. Almost each turn has those motioned walking paths to get you to your destination quicker. The bathrooms were clean and big enough to where you didn’t have to wait in line. Lots of glass art and other artistic features that made for a pleasant atmosphere. Many stores located in the airport, along with high end stores like a Coach store. Knowledgeable staff located outside of information booths, continuing to allow you to ensure your walking in the right direction. Tons of rental car options including Tesla’s. Large windows everywhere.
Todd Leeflang
First time at the new airport. It's really nice. Parking garage is crowded but the vibe of the whole place is really nice.
Kayden Lamb
Very nice airport! Very clean and easy to navigate. It does take a while to get to some places so come early. The lines are usually longer than most airports but that’s only because they are so busy. I have had lots of great customer assistance here I’ve noticed a few workers that are very impatient as well though but for the most part people are very helpful here! There are great food options and shops inside. There is always great art in the airport as well. The new design is phenomenal with what they have done with this airport. Always great flying into this airport.
Ravi Singh
SLC Concourse A is spacious, clean and has lot of restaurants. Decor, ambience and layout is excellent. On-site Car rental is great and saves time by not taking a shuttle to offsite location. Airport is near to downtown and within 30 minutes of drive time. View of mountains during winter is spectacular.
Mama Fox
Beautiful new terminals. Lots of food options, shopping. All restaurants appear open at 7:30 a.m. However, walking between security and terminal B takes 15 minutes at a brisk walk. You have to walk the entire length of terminal A, plus a tunnel. If anyone in your party has mobility issues (walker, cane, etc), you should request an airport wheelchair or a ride in the electric cart. When I came in 2020 with a relative using a cane, it took almost an hour to walk from terminal B to baggage claim (taking small rest breaks). We had no idea the terminals had changed so drastically.
Good, modern TSA area. Easy to get to rental car counters without going outside. The rental process here is generally smooth with helpful employees. Some companies have kiosks. Easy to get to freeway, Salt Lake, and points beyond.
Melissa Mona
More food choices would be ideal for long layovers. I somehow always fly Delta in and out of SLC so I get to board and deplane outside. Like crazy old times.
Josh Levine
Very easy to get to, you can ride a bike or scooter (including the Lyft shares) right up to the terminal. There is also a light rail that goes to and from downtown.
This airport uses the new multi-station bin system which is much faster- I was able to get through the TSA Pre line in less than 2 minutes.
Note that the B gates are a far walk from the entrance, so give yourself at least 20 mins if you need to get to them.
George Sagen
The facilities are new, immaculate, and comfortable; however, the walk from ticketing and baggage drop to the gates is much, much longer than before and you need to add extra time on top of your normal early arrival (30 additional) so that you make it to your gate. If you fly frequently, getting TSA pre-approval is worth the fee for the benefit of moving securityquicker. If you find this review helpful please help me by giving it a thumbs up.
Ana Chavarria
Big and beautiful spaces. It is a new airport they have nice design, beautiful modern decoration. The restaurant and gift shops are out of the common ones. I really enjoyed to walk arou while waiting for my flight.
Anna Christopher
Ugh, construction makes this a new challenge, hope it fixes the old Delta feedlot gate situation. Currently expect to plane and deplane far from the concourses and get bused in, I would say tight connections are a bad idea until complete. Arriving to B concourse will still be a long outdoor walk in a temporary plexiglass like walkway. Arriving A concourse and flying out B is a trek. The hallway to B concourse warns of a 7 minute walk to the gates. Good news still nice eating and shopping options and an xpress spa. Update 8/22/22 same hot mess.
Don
I enjoy using this airport, but keep in mind I like walking. They are adding more to the airport that should cut some walking down.
Lyle Haskell
This airport has very good and relatively easy access to Downtown Salt Lake City and is less than 1 hour drive to Park City area. Know that this is a Delta Hub and as such, if you are flying on Southwest Airlines or American and/or American partner airlines, you’ll need your “walking shoes”, as you will need to walk past at least half of the Delta gates, take an escalator underground, walk under the tarmac, and then re-emerge in Remote Terminal B and walk to your B Gate. It will take you a while…
Additionally, there is Only ONE SECURITY CHECKPOINT as you enter the airport designated for all passengers, so again, plan accordingly. Gates B21 through B30 are at the far end of the concourse.
Note that there is no Admiral’s Club lounge or affiliate lounge for American Airlines passengers at this airport.
On the plus side, there are “moving sidewalks” along the concourses to help assist you with the trek to Terminal B and the chairs at the gates are equipped with power ports. And all employees encountered on my trip throughout the airport and surrounding areas were courteous and helpful.
Emily Price
This airport was renovated since I last visited SLC and I didn’t recognize it! It’s very modern and feels much bigger than before. Quite a walk to get to the B gates nowadays! Lol
Daniel Hughes
It's a huge airport... but pretty well organized... plan on getting your 10k steps in. Delta crews absolutely fantastic!
Prateek Sharma
The airport is beautiful from inside with various interesting art installations. The rental car station is nearby and walkable.
Alicia Spencer
Beautiful views. Clean and efficient airport with more than enough bathrooms, eating areas, and shopping sites. One of the best delta lounges I have ever visited. If you are connecting to a smaller plane be prepared to walk, especially if you land in A terminal. After walking to the one area to connect to the B terminal, there is a long walkway with two moving walkways. Once you ascend the escalator, you must get to the end of the terminal, walk in a covered ramp, board a bus, then walk up the stairs to board the plane.
Emily Lannon
Easy to navigate, quick through security, clean. Could put more water fountains out but REALLY appreciate the comfortable, non crowded seating with power.
Kathleen Dodson-smith
LARGE!! But very efficient, modernized TSA system which greatly reduced wait time. Well staffed. Gate areas have comfortable seating with updated flight info screens and staff making frequent announcements about delays or boarding. Very impressed with their improvements from 8 years ago! BUT the airport is so large now that a tram system is necessary. Heard one is being planned.
Marz Martinez
Helpful security guards whom know where to go & what to do if your lost or can't find tour gate. Lines move quick here. Interesting visuals of the airport art. I dislike how expensive everything is here. Bathrooms were clean & stalls were spacious enough to bring your roll luggage 🧳 with you inside. Decent amount of food & souvenir shops of just about anything you need.
Brandon Phelon
Security can take a little while, and if you're in terminal B, buckle up for a LONG walk. Aside from that the airport is pretty nice
uɐᴉǝuɐ ɥsǝɯ (uɐᴉǝuɐɥsǝɯ)
The remodeled airport is fantastic. There is excellent flow without bottlenecks, security is thorough but speedy, everything is easy to navigate and fine, there are a lot of awesome food options conveniently placed and fast, filtered water bottle filing stations, restrooms, and less cramped seating with power options built in.
Almost no waiting anywhere prior to the gate, very important for getting to your flight on time.
Some people using the facilities are disgusting, but slightly more tolerable because the airport is awesome.
Bhakta Katuwal
Excellent airport after the remodeling. Terminal B is little futher so plan accordingly if you have your flights departing from there. TSA is much better and managed well to lessen the crowd.
Selvon Ramsawak
Make sure to fleet here well before your flight time, even for domestic flights. Line was 3 folds deep on a Wednesday
seanmcistanbul
A quite nice new airport. Everything is spacious, efficient, and updated. Security is quick, signage is easily understandable, plenty of seating at the gates, a good selection of dining options in both concourses, and plentiful restrooms. People do complain about getting to the B concourse, but once the central tunnel is complete it will be easier. Until then the exercise is good. Parking can sometimes be problematic.
Tim Moorehead
The airport is super efficient now and getting two and from the south parking is very easy and the bus drivers are super nice! My experience at the salt lake international airport is awesome now! I travel so much and it's such a great relief to know that I can get in and out quickly.
Rachel Ann Minton
I’m new to Utah and flew out of here for the first time over Labor Day. The security lines moved fast and it was super clean. Southwest’s gate is a bit of a walk. It took me 25 min to walk from the entrance to Southwest’s gate and that was without any delays. Really nice airport overall !
Caly Lott
Clean airport with friendly staff. I travel with my service dog and finding the pet relief area is sometimes difficult, I had a staff member reach out to me to let me know that there is a pet relief area at gate B20. The family bathrooms are kept clean and have a QR code to report any maintenance that might need attending to.
Marilyn Call
The new Salt Lake City Airport is too time consuming to walk to gates. It is also physically difficult for many of those who are disabled or elderly. While it’s nice to be able to get wheel chair assistance, often the wait because of lack of staff to push the carts is too long.
Recently a friend who is recovering from a leg surgery waited along with 22 others to receive wheelchair service. Only one wheelchair was available. No airport personnel ever came to answer questions.
My friend was going to miss her flight so she started limping and hopping along in great pain pulling her carryon. Other kind passengers helped her the best they could and she almost missed her flight. She was exhausted, in pain and upset after walking nearly one mile and a half to her gate. Who knows how long the others waited.
Electric wheelchairs available for a small fee may help alleviate this very serious problem until the underground train is built.
Isn’t there a law that requires airports to assist the disabled?
Many are hoping the airport authority will creatively and quickly fix this problem.
Corey Keller
We transited via connecting flights on December 5th. Our limited exposure was not the best experience due to limited food options. We came in on B (commuter flight) and left on B. We wanted to eat lunch, but there was no fast food. It was either grab and go items with a very limited selection, or sit down. I went over to the A concourse and was disappointed that for such a long distance there was not a train, but only walking. Then I got to A and the same problem, limited food options, no fast food options, only sit down and limited grab and go. Hopefully as the airport finishes future phases, options will improve.
As for the gate areas, they were nice, except we had to arrive off gate and got bused to a long covered walk way into terminal B. I understand that is temporary, but inconvenient. Waiting at our outbound gate was nice as they had plenty of power ports, and other facilities were good. I can't in all good conscience though rate this higher than a 3 because of the limited food options, poor commuter flight access, and the poor connection between the A and B concourses. But the facilities being new were very nice.
Steve Shelton
Economy lot shuttle service is a JOKE. Every shuttle that came by was too full to let any new riders on. One guy getting off a shuttle stated that he had to wait for 4 shuttles before he was able to squeeze onto one. I was able to find a path through the rental car garage to the terminals after realizing it might be a while waiting for shuttles. The airport should have a marked pedestrian path to the terminals for anyone who doesn't want to have to rely on the sub-par shuttle service.
The restaurant selection once inside the terminals is very nice.
Holly McKhann Realtor
This is a beautiful Newer construction airport with many shops and restaurants. Very comfortable and very clean. I dined at Café Rio and there was excellent signage to the passenger pick up area.
Hunt Blatz
We were passing through from east to west coast. The remodel is nice. halls are spacious. We prefer taking stairs to escalators, and this was mot an option going between A and B Concourses. Gate attendants were really helpful.
Martha Garcia
Beautiful, clean, modern airport! It was a pleasant experience. From the automated trays in the TSA line to the clean bathrooms. I was especially thankful that the women's stalls were spacious and had not one, but three!hooks AND a small tray to sit your stuff on. BRILLIANT! Also thank you for the warm water in the sinks!
james cockerell
As far as airports go this one was pretty awesome. Great views, great selection of places to eat. Everything was clean and in great condition.
Barış Can Bahtiyarogulları
Airport is super clean. walking to gate seems pretty long. I felt that l was walking less even in Istanbul airport 😁 …
Chris Earley
After traveling through multiple airports in the US and internationally, I’ve come to appreciate SLC a lot more. The security process is very streamlined and quick. My most recent flight started boarding right when I got in line for security. I for sure was expecting to miss my flight. I still had time even after they pulled my bag aside to check it, to make it to my gate and get on the plane.
The airport is very clean and has soft music playing that creates a more relaxed feeling vibe for traveling.
Karsten H Kessler
Bit weird during construction. So that will be the next few years. If you are going or coming with a smaller airplane like what flies to smaller airports, you will get bussed to your plane.
Probably not fun in winter
Pictures of the entrance to terminal A and the mural in the connection tunnel between A and B
Jon Webb
The new Salt Lake City airport entrance layout is amazing, the amount of space was incredible. the food choices, the stores, the space, all of it is great for the future growth plans of Utah. The walk to terminal two is really long, but, whatever.
I took off a star for the entirely confusing tsa team. I appreciate the awareness of security, but they are probably the poorest example of skilled communicators I have ever encountered, but, they are there to check for safety concerns, not sell me, so it’s ok.
Ingrid Kacaniova
The best airport in the world 😁 I love it. If possible, I will choose it to any other airport in USA in the future. Easy to navigate, small, new, extremely clean, car rental companies directly in the airport, no need to mess with shuttles.. Public transportation easily accessible.. Going through the customs was a breeze compared to ORD, LAX...
Rashi tiwari
I have been to SLC multiple times and the amazing views that greet you even before you land are remarkable .The gorgeous mountains from the numerous observation windows is something I look forward to seeing even on short layovers . I think they went under a major renovation and it comes across very obviously -the space is huge ,beautiful , spotless and has a very modern look and feel .
The airport itself is clean and has lots of restaurants/bars and shops . There is one terminal and two concourses- A & B.A short-term parking terrace is next to the terminal. Rental car companies are in the Gateway Center adjacent to the parking garage. I don't think there are many airlines that operate out of this airport but it has good connectivity for all the major ones .There is a lot of walking involved which hasn't bothered me yet but I can see why a lot of people would find that inconvenient .The staff is helpful and kind .
Benjamin Clayton
TSA here is super friendly and the airport is always really clean. The restaurants aren’t too crazy expensive for an airport. The water fountain doesn’t taste too bad either! Usually get through security and bag check super fast too. I typically fly Delta for anyone reading my review.
steven alvarez
My first time going to this airport. Very impressed. It’s very big, it can be a hassle to walking to your gate or getting outside.
TSA is quick, even with a big line. It’s always best to arrive 2 hours before your departure.
Gary Marschall
Great airport. Long walk to our terminal but security was so well organized. The really long line went very fast. All of the seating looked new and had outlets every other seat to charge your devices. Really good airport!
Dale McCord
Would love to know why the main ramp from the buses is dinky and congested with everyone trying to make connections, while the ramp down to the buses is 2x+ wider when there isn't any hurry to catch the flight?....
Nice charger outlets on all seats.
Wifi seems okay.
Still seems small for the amount of people I saw going through there today.
Hopefully the expansion helps...
Wish it had a printing service avaliable.
Ridiculousness with bus system and the walkway should be wider to not be stuck behind everyone when you're trying to make connections.
Geoff Wilde
New airport is amazing with great attention to detail. Except alternative transportation like bikes, scooters, and skateboards. Old airport bike lane ends at the light rail crossing. No designation in the newly constructed area. It appears they would like this traffic to move to the sidewalk. Hopefully this is just temporary until construction is complete.
John Lerch
Nice airport. Good selection of food places. Some of best seating at gates at any airport. But the walk from the Southwest gates to baggage claim/rental car counters! Hopefully that will be fixed when rebuilding is complete.
Will Hall
This airport is interesting. It's brand new and still under construction. The walk between the 2 concourses is insane right now. But they are installing a train system to help with that. Other than that, the airport is beautiful and has a lot of food and shopping options.
Liston Morris
Not too big, or too small. Salt Lake Airport has departures drop off on top, and arrivals get picked up downstairs. The ticket counters are well marked. The TSA has a unique bin station arrangement that helps get people through quickly. The second concourse is connected by a tunnel with tread mills to speed up your foot pace. There is plenty of shopping and dining if you find yourself with time to spare.
Dan Vanderhorst
New construction, great signage, well placed restrooms. Long walk to the gates from security. Very much like Atlanta. When a walkway is not working the walk is even worse. Overall good airport just plan on a long walk.
Ray Christian
Like the layout, and the fact that there wasn't 45 minute line at Starbucks. Nice clean facility. We arrived at 5:00 AM for flight, one place open for breakfast. One person was eating breakfast 10 minutes before boarding. Can't other restaurants be persuaded to open, at least by 5:30?
Nikolai Mannsfeld
Went here for skiing and for a gym meet in April in 2021 (during the pandemic) , nice airport. Pretty spacious and easy to get to your gate and to baggage claim, also to rental cars and check in. All in all, great airport. Nothing really else to say about this airport.
Germaine Adams
Dear SLC International Airport: your airport's cleanliness is second to none, and there's an excellent selection of shops and restaurants to partake of. However, I do have 2 words for you: TERMINAL TRAINS. To get from security, through Terminal A to Terminal B was quite the hike. Either put in more (and longer) moving walkways between A and B, or invest in some sort of railway system. Your passengers will greatly appreciate it.
Michael Hunter
Esthetically it is a very beautiful and modern airport, shops and food galore at all points inside, and as you would expect, all at airport prices.
Now concourse B is exceedingly long, close to a mile, regardless of the moving sidewalks you are going to have to do some serious walking. If you have to get to a connecting flight, good luck with that.
The security/TSA area goes somewhat more smoothly than a lot of airports, there is a feeder system that brings the security bins right to you.
I flew during the week and was only in line for tsa about 20 minutes
Carrie Marsh
Stunning design is fun to walk through.
Private car pick-up signage was not as clear as ground transportation signage and you end up in two different spots, so be aware of the difference. Upstairs across the bridge for local pickup, downstairs for ride-share/hotel/taxi.
Mark Sanders
We just dropped off our son, so don't have the full airport experience. But parking, check-in and drop off were all super easy. It was very clean and had easy to follow signs.
Kimi Price
The new Salt Lake City airport is just beautiful. There are a bunch of new shops and restaurants and plenty of space to sit or charge up your phone. The bathrooms are clean and huge! There is plenty of space to fit you and your luggage in the stall, and there are multiple hooks for any backpacks or duffle bags. The only problem with this new airport is that there is an enormous amount of walking. It is a 15-20 minute walk from security to the end of B gate, and that is with using the new moving sidewalks. There is plenty of murals and entertainment along the way, so it is a pleasant walk, but long nonetheless. They are also taking COVID very seriously. There are constant reminders to social distance and how to properly where a mask in the form of signs and intercom announcements. They have set up lots of free hand sanitizing stations and have set up a testing area where you can be rapid-tested for the virus while you wait for your flight. I can't wait to see any other additions made to the airport in the future!
Madelyn Haussner
Nice, clean, lots of windows, airy. But be aware - the "B" gates are about 8 minutes from the "A" gates. Lost my way, corrected myself, but had to run to catch my flight. It's not a big deal when arriving, but departure can be an issue. TSA was easy-peasy, with few lines. Food lines were long, though. Enjoy!
Jared Johnson
Security is a bit of a wait no matter when you go. The inside of the airport is generally very clean and well kept. There is not much in the way of quick bite to eats. The places to eat are of the sit down type and you can take away it takes time. The B gates have very little to offer.
Steve Bennett
They need to build more airport at their airport. All incoming flights deplane on the tarmac and bus passengers to the terminal. Other than that everything was fine.
Jerry Smith
The new terminals are very nice. Plenty of walking but that’s the case in most major airports. Currently (early 2023) they are expanding the terminals and nearly all of the regional flights are being handled with a bus ride from the terminal to the jets. Plan on some extra time for that.
Katherine Kittrell
Moving sidewalks to terminal B are a big improvement.
Security lines have been short!
Signage directing pedestrians from gates to private vehicle ground transportation need improvement.
Terminal restaurant selection and delta lounge much improved.
Three story atrium with white canyon fins is creepy. New jumbotron of skiers and arches is a big improvement over the scary white fins. Murals are great.
Mr. Fixit
Salt Lake City Internatiinal Airport is a modern well appointed airport with great shops, eateries, lighting and decor. Driving to the airport is easy with access directly from Bangerter Hwy or I-80.
Security goes quickly and being pre-check should speed things along. However, SLC is the only airport where their pre-check detector goes off on me. I use the same belt, watch and shoes as other airports but this is the only one that makes me take them off thus defeating the purpose of pre-check.
Another anoyance is terminal B. Delta takes Terminal A, Alaska gets part of Terminal B and Southwest gets the last spots furthest away. Terminal B is a hoof through a tunnel under the tarmac. There are no shuttles, trains, buses or anything else. Just a long walk. To get from curbside to the end of terminal B can be a 20 min walk.
Lastly is the rental car terminal. Easy to access from the airport terminal. It is accross the street via Skywalk. The entrance and exit to the rental parking seems like an afterthought. It is abrubt with no real lane for ingress and egress. It isn't hard to miss your turn and have to go around again.
Fixing a few of these things would earn SLC airport a 5-star rating.
Matthew Larson
Salt lake has outdone themselves with the airport this time. Here's to a few more years of growing pains. Nice artwork and it was fun to walk all that way to the gates. Very nice selection of stores and shops.
Jerrilene Antone-Morton
It is a huge airport, but we managed to make it through security quickly, lots of shops and restaurants to choose from, conveniently located near downtown SLC, there is a light rail that goes directly into the city. We arrived early for our departing flight just to look around and try a few food items and some amazing coffee items.
Matthew
********The new remodeling of the airport is pretty nice. Just beware if you are flying out of the B gates it is a bit of a walk to get to where you need to go in order to catch your flight. Might want to allow a little extra time to get your steps in and catch your flight. 😉 …
Sally Bezemer
This airport is clearly designed to handle a LOT of moving people. I wish there was a bit more space to spread out and sit- even though there's plenty of space, it still feels crowded. Yes, the walk to terminal B is far, but the airport isn't finished yet, and a little walk before you sit on a plane isn't the end of the world. People movers are available to those who need it. I'll be interested to see what they do with the second half of the airport when it opens, hopefully there's more seating.
Bathrooms are big and everywhere, as are water bottle fill stations. Restaurants are available, but don't have much seating. Shopping is available, but generally quite expensive.
Foster Curtis
We went through 4 airports on our trip, and Salt Lake was by far the best one! It was the cleanest and most spacious by far, and had the best facilities. The bathrooms were kind of like a maze, but they had plenty of stalls/urinals so there was never a line, unlike other airports we went through where there was constant crowding. Gates were easy to find, and the staff were friendly. Security is fast and organized! Just an all around good experience. And the decor was beautiful too!!

Aug 2021
Airport had complete make over. Much nicer however there are no signs in the car rental return area as to "which way to the terminal". That would be helpful
June 2019
Baggage went to wrong Delta conveyor. Still showed my flight at 5 but everybody's luggage went to 7.
Salazar Salazar
My favorite place to go through, customs are friendly and the make you feel great, the airport is super fancy and the services are great.
Michael Reynolds
Everything went smooth. It seemed a little slow today which was nice because it only took about five minutes to get through security. I flew Delta so we didn’t have to go too far to get to our gate.
Ryan Balter
Nicest airport I've ever been to. What a fabulous place to have a layover at. Spotlessly clean, incredibly quiet and calming! Great 3 hours to spend in Utah!
Chaz Shanton
I really enjoyed this airport as much as one can. I had an 8 hour flight delay but the various bars, restaurants, and shops helped pass the time. Security were nice to me even when they had to check my bag.
michael hernandez
i had such a wonderful experience. both times i had a layover in SLC, Ms.Sandra was always there and was very helpful. I was an unaccompanied minor for my trip and she made sure that I was well taken care of. Her service was beyond extraordinary. I definitely felt safe and well taken care of! Thank you so much Ms.Sandra for helping out on both layovers I had during this trip. It was nice meeting you! Made my delta experience spectacular. 1000/10 service. Thank you!
Badam Ramesh
One of the good airport in US. It is clean and maintenance is good. Peaceful atmosphere. Plan your travel in such a way you land at this airport.
T Dozi
The most efficient, clean, traveler-friendly airport in the U.S. I always live flying through or to this place and I travel nationally and internationally. There are a lot of shops and places to eat and the bathrooms are nice too. Easy easy easy to navigate.
MaryGrace
Bring your tennis shoes!!! There is a serious hike to and from the gates. Plenty of Shopping as well. Terminal B has the Gourmandise bakery, cafe and full bar. Nice spot to loose track of time, while waiting for a flight. Aimee is a fantastic bartender!
Andrew Volper
Nice new facility but the stretch between check in/security and terminal B is long. Only a couple of people movers to help you walk a little faster. Not planned out very well.
Chuck Phillips
The expansion is coming right along. SLC is an immaculate clean airport, wide-open, gateway to the west. Temporarily inconvenient taking shuttles from the airplanes to the B concourse. be sure to allow yourself plenty of time if you know you are connecting through the B concourse. Even though the a concourse is not currently under construction, it can take a while to get from one to the other. But, as I said the expansion is going to be beautiful once it’s done. I have flown to Salt Lake City as a final destination twice this year, and the front outside of the airport is also coming along beautifully
Prasenjit Das
Good airport , looks like gone through some serious renovations. Tips: get enough time between Gate A and B
Robin Hed
Easy to get to. Security was very fast. We didn't remove our shoes, laptops, or bag of liquids from our carryon. This was very convenient. Parking was pretty easy. We always take a picture of our parking spot for easy locating on our return.
Rebecca Call
The remodel is nice and the walkways easy to navigate but the walk is long. Congestion around the holidays is bad but tolerable and the staff is pleasant and helpful.
ashleigh williams
Beautiful airport but they missed the mark by leaving out a tram to get to B Gate. In total, it was a 15 min walk from security to the B gates. And I’m a fast walker. If you’re pregnant, have an injury, or more than 1 child, demand for someone to wheelchair or drive you there. It’s insane! I miss the old SLC Airport.
Garrett Brucia
Its a beautiful brand new airport. Plenty of restaurants and space to spread out. Very Clean. Security wait times (at least for TSA precheck) are usually minimal.
Love the Delta sky club, but it is getting crowded as of late. They will probably need a second lounge once more gates in the second terminal open.
Howard Phelps
My first time in the newly redesigned SLC. It's sooo different from the old central hub with concourses like spokes on a wheel layout Neat decor, easy to find your way around. several large open areas.
But, walking from the rental car area to the far end of the B concourse is a long, long, long hike.
Then you get there, go through your gate, walk about a block, and still have to be bussed to your plane!
I was there plenty early, so in spite of the long walk, all went smoothly and departed on time. Overall good experience.
John and Julie McBride
SLC has some great shops and restaurants, but the walk to the B gates is ridiculously long. To get to the B gates, you have to walk almost the entire length of the A gates. There appears to be a plan to shorten the walk, but it will still be a long one. So if you fly any airline other than Delta, plan on a hike.
Linda Chaffee - Gogarn
This airport is fairly well organized and has enough eating venues to accommodate most. Easy to find restrooms as well. I don't mind dropping into Salt Lake for a plane change at all.
Debra Beasley
Terminal is easy to navigate and has pretty good restaurants if you're willing to pay for airport food.Airport bathrooms are spacious and clean and pet walking areas clearly marked. Bonus: we flew in as the sun was setting over the mountains.
Pauline Koranicki
I absolutely love Salt Lake Airport. It is so clean and organized. The food places are amazing (we recommend the White Horse!), and everything goes smoothly. You will not be disappointed.
Ann Barnett
Great experience. Plenty of places to fill the pit in your stomach and if you pay attention to the board for updates they do all they can to make sure you arrive at the correct gate. No shortage of gate transportation for those who need it.
Mike Kimball
This airport is very modern and a great selection of food in the main Concorde.
However, it's so big that you will get your steps in for the day! The layout is weird, not a fan of that
Todd “GreyKatTE” Edson
I arrived and departed during peak business travel times. I went through TSA on departure quickly and efficiently.
The airport itself was clean, well staffed, and had some nice art.
Ryan Pramer
The new airport is one step forward in modernization and 3 steps back in convenience. Be prepared to walk, and walk, and walk some more... Connections less than 1 hour are at risk. And now they're starting to bus you to an imaginary terminal C. No other option flying into SLC, but compared to renovated peers is a disappointment. The best part about it is the prices, water is $2 instead of $5, drinks $8-$15... 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Have a comfortable connection time and you'll be happy
David Liu
5 stars because its clean and easy to get around. Also they have paper towels in the bathroom. Only one main concourse, and you can walk the mile or ride the moving floor. Multiple concessions representing mostly local flavor. Plenty of beer and coffee for those who are worried about that. Amazing views of the Wasatch front (mountains) and the valley on approach. Open your window!!
Tyson Ferrell
I really like this Airport !! Alot of art & lights that change color making the walls & glass art work change along with .. easy to navigate , set up like a horseshoe ; & if you knew my wife that really works out great for me ,lol... enjoy you're trip to Salt Lake and if possible get a hike in with the family , lots of beautiful trails with great views !! Heads up it's been over 100° here for about a week , today 104 , airport is at 70° so if you have a long layover, perhaps bring a sweatshirt !!
Taylor Moulton
Fantastic and efficient design, but only if you fly Delta Air Lines. Once there is a PeopleMover built between Concourse A and B like ATL, then this airport will be perfect. Otherwise, you'll need a hiking stick, water, and to check your bags before hiking the 1 mile route to concourse B.
Kerri Weiland
I want to give you five stars but can’t. It is clean and organized which I am so grateful for. BUT you need to also be efficient! The line for security is sooooo long and yet you have several lanes that could be open. You are brand new with cutting edge security yet you have to take shoes off and take lap tops out. This doesn’t make any sense. On top of that you have brand new machines to u load your items into but the one I glass stops the loading of the new bins 😩. This should be fixed!!!! Lastly, I go to a very nice new place to eat. I need to work, there are docking stations all along the seating but the plexi glass stops my Mac charger from being plugged in. Need beauty with effective and efficiency integration!
Allen Jezouit
On the upside it's super clean and very roomy. On the downside if you're flying in/out of B gates, bring your walking shoes. It's easily a 1+ mile walk from B gates to baggage claim. Very poorly designed.
Brijesh Garabadu
Airport is great and so are the dining options.
3 star review for the long lines and long wait to catch the shuttle to the economy parking lot. This is terrible. It’s the second time in a few months. This can be improved. There is no reason why Houston airport can do it and not SLC. After a long flight its not fun to wait in line with young children in chilling cold for the shuttle bus.
M.C. Rivetti
The new phase of the airport is nicely done, but getting around, like many complain about, is not easy. You will do a lot of walking here, which is fine, everyone can use the exercise, but if you are running short on time it can be a bit of a pain or if you are older or not in shape.
Security lines are never super bad, unlike Seattle which is awful. If you have "clear" or TSA precheck then you will just shoot through. From getting out of my car, baggage check in, security, to gate took me all of about 20 minutes. I do have Clear so that helped a bit, but even if i didn't, it wouldn't have taken a long time.
It's nice to see them de-ice the plane, even though it's taking a few extra to get off the ground.
All-in-all it's a nice airport. Shuttles to the parking lot if you are doing extended stay. Lots of CLEAN restrooms, eating locations, etc. The new phases will make it even better when they come online.
1 star deduction for lengthy walks and infrequent walk ways. They really should have created a better way to get around the airport.
Helen Valencia
Great airport to fly in and out of. Lots of choices for airlines and places to travel to. TSA could be a little better in getting people through the line a little faster, but it wasn’t terribly long. Bathrooms are always clean, but the concourses could use another person or two to help keep the areas clean. Overall a good airport. Safe travels ✈️
Brad Lammers
Why 3 escalators on the Bataan Death March? Every time I am forced to hike, one is going my way, and the other two are going opposite. I'm there about 4 times a month. Love the 'street' pricing on food, sundries and beer. I noticed the new tunnel has 4 escalators.
Rick B.
Be prepared to walk depending on your gate.
Security - New systems that are very high tech, but they will open your bags and check them and that is even in TSA Precheck. I removed my glasses and placed them in a bin and then through confusion of security asking me if I had sharp objects or fragile things in my bag, missed grabbing them. It took a bit to get security to even care that my glasses were gone. Finally I nice woman in security told the guy I had to check an area out and they were there.
Overall - Clean and high tech!
Enjoy!
Jon Fogarty
I Used to travel through SLC a few times a month. This was my first trip since the rebuild. From a travelers perspective, they spent a ton of money to make it worse. Probably necessary to accommodate all the traffic, so for a plane and pilot it's probably great, but for a bipedal human it's not so great. It is massive, so even with a gazillion people moving about you don't feel like a sardine.
Kevin Lewis
Once this airport completes the tram, it will truly be stats. That being said, this airport is amazing. The security is a marvel with how much throughput and automation they have. The terminals already have all the things you might need at an airport.
Meg Orton
Seamless. We were in and to our terminal in about 15 minutes. Not bad at all. The TSA agents were friendly and professional. They answered questions when needed.. they were polite. They had everything running like a well oiled machine.
Even the K9s were doing a great job keeping the airport running smoothly.
Debra Johnson
Very bright and happy looking airport. The walks to gatra can be quite long. There are moving sidewalks so if you have a problem walking you might want a cart. Bathrooms are huge! Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat.
L Q
No complaints about the airport, excited for construction to complete. Flew with Delta, layover was here; had to take a shuttle to the outdoor entrance to B gate and thankfully had a long enough layover to make it to gate A with some time to stop and get food before they al closed.
BernaDette Session
Good looking new terminal addition, good lighting, wide corridors, moving sideways down the length of terminal B, which is the only one I have visited so far. Large, nice new restrooms, with wider stalls so easy in & out, auto-flush, touchless sensors for hand washing, Dyson air dryers with optional paper towels. Very large family restrooms. Filtered water fountains with water bottle fill up. Restrooms & water fountains appear to be all on one side, though. Was told walk to terminal A was 10+ minutes, until tunnel is completed connecting the two terminals. No driven carts available, so mobility challenged passengers will need wheelchair. Also could make for tight connecting flight times. Awesome mountain views.
Lisa Greiman
Love SLC airport! So nice & clean, easy to get around. People are courteous & helpful. Good choices for a bite to eat or souvineers to buy or something to read on the next flight out. Definitely one of my top favorite airports!
Neva Lucas
Just changing planes. I had wheelchair assistance and they were so polite and helpful. Lots of construction going on. Really expanding. Beautiful window views while waiting for next flight.
Anthony Marc
It is really nice now, but I have gripes. There is waaaaaay too much walking. It is borderline ridiculous how far you have to walk to some of the gates. And if you pass food on the way there, prepare to walk for half a mile to get back to it. There needs to be more food available near the far ends of the terminals. And have more than one moving walkway to make it easier for those who need it. And maybe put up a sign that tells people to stand to one side so others can walk by. It makes the airport feel very very crowded the way people walk every which way and block traffic by walking 5 deep and not caring who is behind them. "Utah Roadblocks' aren't just maneuvers on the highways, it seems.
Liong Mah
Decent airport. It was clean and ready to get through security. Came in on terminal A but leaving was out of terminal B. Be prepared to walk about 20 minutes to get there. Wish they would make it easier to get to.
Yian 26
There is limited infrastructure, like shuttle train between far away terminals, so you you have to walk a lot. There some people mover conveyors but don't do much. There are very few jetways/loading bridges. So they are using buses to take you to your plane with outdoor numbered cubicles where they load the passengers. The atmosphere feels like an army camp. The whole airport doesn't feel very hommy, but somewhat sterilized.
Enoch Lee
As of 2022, the long walk between terminals is pretty terrible for anyone with closely spaced connecting flights. Also be weary of any flights at gates B25-B30, these aren't even individual gates, they all just lead to a shuttle stop where you get bussed to your plane with a stair car.
Eric Rider (SoulRider.222)
I'm not an airport aficionado, but I will say it's a cool airport. I only was here for two days.
Joey Pauga
For the most part, the new SLC airport is pretty and state of the art. The check-in experience is just like any other airports. There were lots of eateries and some fun things to explore for me and my 9 year old.
However, what I didn't like was the single point of entry for security. At first I thought it was just me not seeing another area for security but after asking 2 different airport workers, I was disappointed because the line was long. I'm sure they thought it's a good thing to route everyone into a single area but that reminds me so much of the Atlanta airport.
I've flown out of Hatfield so much that their single point of entry for security is such a time killer. I have to get there so early to get through the security line. Dallas, LAX and a few other large airports all have multiple points of entry for security. This allows me to go through security faster.
So the reason for the 4 star is having to be funneled into a single area for security. It took me 45 minutes to get through security that I was glad I went earlier than I planned.
Apart from this, everything else about it is great. I especially liked the way their bucket system was setup. I didn't have to go hunting for a bucket to put my stuff in it was automatically fed to me right below the counter space I was standing over. Overall, a good experience (except for the ATL-like-feel for the security line 😊)
And one more bad point, it was a long walk to Terminal B! Was there a train/shuttled I could have caught? Once again, very glad I got there 40 minutes earlier than I initially planned. 👍
Dave Shuey
Ok, I had to change my review and increase my rating based almost solely on one thing. The bathrooms in the new concourses are fantastic. The stalls have no cracks, run almost all the way to the floor and have PLENTY of room for luggage so that you aren't uncomfortable if traveling alone and needing to go to the bathroom. The rest of the new airport is beautiful and definitely an upgrade!
Katie Lakomyj
Pack hiking shoes if you are flying Southwest! It is a ridiculously long walk to the B gates. The airport is nice. Nothing stood out as amazing or horrible.
Logan
The airport here is quite nice and a great improvement over the old airport.
1 light rail line running from the airport to Downtown SLC with connections to other LRT liness, buses and the commuter rail operating between Ogden-Provo
There is a lot more space to hold the amount of people it gets day to day.
Several shops I don't go to because expensive.
Nice places to eat at. There is no MC Donalds strangely.
Nice restrooms and, a rare sight, water bottle refill areas.
The best part, there is a lot of seating, you still need to arrive a bit early to ensure you get a seat but you are far more likely to get one.
The TSA checkpoint is nice and clean, relatively quick.
Check in area is relatively spacious, as always, arrive early to ensure you get through check in and security in tike for your flight.
And the main thing people complain about- the walk.
Guess what, that is most airports in the county and around the word. If it takes you 10-15 minutes to walk from the last gate to the front or to the opposite gate, get over it. That is any airport experience.
And you have to remember, airplanes and wide, they have to space them out so their wings don't hit eachother.
Brian Zamarripa
The airport is really is to drive through in large vehicles! I easily found the parking for busses and it was a straight forward loop to the loading zones. Driving out was just as simple!
Ghanshyam Patel
Very nice airport with latest infrastructure and facility. Very spacious & ground staff is kind & helping nature.
Rental cars outlet are easily reachable.
Two terminals are seperate & having long distance to cover.
Myo Min
They should plan alternative transportation during the construction. You have to walk 15-25 minutes to get to your gate. That’s crazy. Other than that it looks very clean and beautiful new terminal .
Abigail Haynes
Nice airport. All the seats I saw had usb and plug ports to charge devices. The bathrooms were really nice, large stalls with lots of room for luggage.
Carey Marie
I've traveled through salt lake city a few times and have gotten to see the many changes taking place within and on the outside of the airport. Today we had to take a bus to the terminal and was most definitely a new experience for myself. The staff here is always so kind and the facility is always clean. Most definitely recommend this airport for traveling or layovers.
Spoorthi U
Nice airport but lot to walk lol 😅😐☹️
😊✌🏻 …
B Rest
Salt Lake international airports recent upgrades and modernization have sped up the process for security checks and made waiting for flights quite enjoyable. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to visit. The modern art designs in the infrastructure is a pleasant departure from the old layout.
Jerry Fitzsimmons
We flew into and out of Salt Lake City International Airport over the course of a week. The airport is very clean and appears to be well organized. Security screenings were quick and painless, hats off to the TSA. Lots of food options once we got to our terminal and it seems as though every seat in the building has power available to charge your devices.
Laura B
Lines went quickly, was thru the airline lines and security in less than an hour! Had time to swing thru get a burger at a market grill and made my flight perfect timing. I do NOT fly well and this experience was rather pleasant. Definitely recommend this airport to travel thru.
Jay Frigon
Very clean, easy to navigate and easy in and out. TSA was very efficient.
AL
One of the best airports in USA. I was in transit to LAX during the holiday season. The terminal is bright and clean. Lots of food options. The staff is helpful.
Matthew Harris
This was one of the smoothest and well organized trip through TSA. Great experience. Employees were nice and friendly and helpful.
Will definitely fly to Salt Lake if I have to go to Utah.
Walter Garff
Gorgeous new terminal. Feels more like a Euro airport. I particularly like the multilevel benches and the oversized (skis) luggage carrosel.
Having everything in one big terminal means it's a good walk to your gate. Reminds me of the Delta terminal at JFK, allow extra time to walk to the gate.
Shawna Williams
The new and improved airport is better now than before. I know that people are complaining about the long walks but SLC airport is still easier to navigate than other international airports. Good job on the upgrade!
Roy Tubbs
Nothing new... Try and give yourself some extra time with layovers. Most of the small planes use busses for transporting passengers from the plane to the terminal. If it's just a connection, another airport would be better for a connection if available.
Ronald Budhi
Super clean airport with nice shops. The bathroom stalls were spacious with plenty of hooks and knobs to hang one’s carry-on. I wish more airports were like this!
Isaac Wait
Nice building, but shamefully bad design in terms of people movement. Up down up down up down. Excessively long walks between check in and gates. Did they not recognize that humans would be utilizing this facility?
Signs all over the airport promising that things will be better in the next phase indicates they recognize there is a problem. But when you spend billions how does it get this screwed up in the first place? Wild.
Larry W
Great selection of shops and restaurants, but the walk from our gate to baggage claim was the longest walk we have ever experienced at an airport. Makes us appreciate even more our great airport in Tampa.
Mike Lewis
The new airport is very nice. I landed at the old terminal on United and it was roughly a 76.3 mile walk to the exit. It’s my understanding that United will be landing at the new airport next week. I am flying out on Delta which is in the new airport.
High ceilings. Nice flow. Plenty of natural light. Some good food and shopping options also. Very clean and shiny.
R XP
This airport is awesome, never had any issues here.
Bengals444T
I went through this airport back in 2018. It was very convenient and safe to move through. It had a lot of terrific and safe staff at the airport. I hope to go back to this airport again in the future with the renovations done to it.
Ian Mears
Wish the smoking areas were more away from the more public areas just to help avoid those who don't want second hand smoke. Thank you. Besides that, always glad to get a welcome home from the kind crew.
Khun Sateeb
Came in international. Not enough customs for the line. Then have to go through TSA for connecting flight. not enough working there so really long lines and no TSA PRE line but after you clear that security you walk past the other general TSA area (not connecting) that had short lines. Then have to change terminals even for a Delta to Delta connecation and a walk of about 20+ minutes to get there and people movers are only going one direction. The opposite of course. Not convenient at all, especially after an international flight.
Debbie Hernandez
I give it five stars it's a great airport but definitely can use more shuttles to get you to the other half of the airport.. but I love stopping in Utah...
IAmRuly
This airport is very clean and everything is so well planned out. Since I had a connecting flight, all I had to do was grab my suitcase and take it to the connecting flight conveyor belt and go wait for my next flight. It was THAT simple! Delta made it that easy! It was the best travel experience I've had in all my life.
Alisha Rodriguez
We go through this airport a lot as it is the main one we use. Very clean, they recently built a new section of it. The downside is that we seem to have to walk great distances just to exit the airport.
Jack Clark
Beautiful huge airport. When we arrived at 1030p.m. the line to the economy lot was about 1 hours long... frustrating that a brand new airport didnt th iui nk if building a better infrastructure to get folk to the economy parking I a reasonable time.
Bonnie Kelly
As I jetted off the plane today in SLC, I had to take a step back and take a deep breath! Where was I? Did I land at the wrong airport? What is this swanky new place? It is SLC new international airport and it is nice!! The interior walls and art are inspired by Southern Utah’s Slot Canyons and they look amazing!! There is just so much to take in!! I need to take another look around really soon!
顏士傑
Nice place nice people
If you depart from SLC
U can take green line to airport for free
Oscar Martinez
Airport is amazing! The sky lounge is is a great place to pass time between layovers. There are a variety of shopping outlets and restaurants.
AARON DeMent
Spacious but the walks are long and congested. For a new airport more work is need to get people from the far terminal to the exit conveniently. It is a little disappointing.
Rad M
One of my favorite airports! Very well designed. Great selection of restaurants and artwork. Getting through security is efficient.
Chrissy Miller
The security guard in the arrival area was so kind. He helped us guide our teenager out to the correct area. I wish I had gotten his name. He was amazing.
Cody Brower
A good looking airport and security seems fast and the terminals were all working. However, the Southwest (and other) terminals require a LOT of walking to get to, though.
John Nye
New Airport. Clean, TSA isn't too bad as long as get there with enough time. Food options are good. Not much to complain about.
Ryan McLaughlin
The new airport terminal is nice and modern, but there is no direct access to the B gates, so you have to walk a really long distance to get there.
Kumarco Singha
Airport is clean and well maintained. Lots of shopping and dining. A very beautiful airport. Getting through security is easy and efficient. No smoking lounge.
PugNut PugNut
Best airport Ive ever been to. Kind staff, easy and fast security. Small but not too small perfect airport.
Texassapphire Texassapphire
Easy to navigate
Clean
Good places to eat
Beautiful Mountain View’s
Chris Anderson
Not as large or confusing as Denver, and not undergoing semi-permanent construction "to enhance your flying experience" (Hah!), like Denver and Portland. Also, surrounded by the Wasatch mountains, making it very scenic.
Michael Connor
GLASS IN MASS
is one way to describe the new passenger concourses at SLCIA, where floor-to-roof windows gift exhilarating views of Utah mountains and pull in silver morning light at the end of the 2022 Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend. Shops and eateries abound on the long concourses that require such long treks the staff erected signage joking about 10,000 steps regimens. Lovely place
Matt Carson
It's huge! It's a 7 minute walk between concourses. The artwork is beautiful. The facilities are nice and new. There are lots of shops.
Shanoa Nutt
Been to almost every airport in the US. The food is meh. The gift shops are meh. If you have to have a layover it's meh. The layout is strange. Big "H" hope you do not have a disability you will need assistance for the pointless hike across the "H".
S H
This is this the perfect airport. Its small, easy to navigate, clean and has lots of clear signage. It made my trip to SLC easy.
Dahlene Hancock
Short layover my plane was late. Kinda sad. As the lay over I had would have allowed me to see the newer airport. But the service I received there was wonderful
Korin
Beautiful airport. Nice modern systems. Only problem is you have to walk 12 miles from TSA to your gate. I'm in pretty good shape and I was worn out! Check ALL your luggage!
Malal Sow
Of couse construction still ongoing but in my opinion, this is the 2nd best terminal in the US after Atlanta. It is clean, organized and very well engineered. It would been even better if they increase more places to eat within the terminal.
Christian Wietholt
I was just transferring in this airport but I liked it. It's small enough to make a tight connection even if you have to switch terminals. The signage is big and clear and there are plenty of good food options. I went for the Boar's Head Cafe. Although the airport seemed busy it didn't feel overly crowded and the nice view of the mountains is a real treat. The restrooms were also clean.
MikeyBlueEyez Boom
Wife recently had surgery and the wheelchair ♿ staff, as well as the staff at the airport, was very friendly and helpful. The airport that is now is use is only 1 1/2 years old.
Great airport in my brief experience.
Jenna Holland
Such a well maintained airport! Very clean, lots of bathrooms, by far the best airport we stopped at on our trip.
Sharon Spicer
The airport procedure to check a suitcase is very different than any I have ever encountered. Once you understand how it works it is probably more efficient than the old way.
Brian Haller
Good airport, great options for getting food in both terminals. Some hassle currently during construction to get in to terminal B, but looking forward to seeing it after.
Jon Thompson
Beautiful airport but with hundreds of millions of dollars for planning……how can you have to hike over 20 minutes from the far gates to get out…!
astralvenus
Clean, fast TSA check, large restroom stalls, this airport is big and you have to walk everywhere so no time to be late
Jongho Yu
It's a really modern and clean airport, but good luck if you're not flying Delta. There are no lounges except for a Delta SkyClub, and the walk between the main terminal and the B concourse is quite long.
There are quite a few decent spots to eat though, including Shake Shack, Panera, Smashburger, etc.
Elmo W
One of the best designed meditation waiting airport. The baggage arrival and departure area gives you a sense of underwater experience without the water.
Quincee Kingston
Not a bad airport but they need to figure out a better way to get to terminal B. It is very hard to get all the way over there with lots of luggage, little kids, or if you have trouble walking long distances.
Cheyenne Talbot
So fast and easy. Security took maybe 5 minutes start to finish.
A J
Awesome updates to the airport. Plan ahead and play by the rules and everything should go fine for you here. And the new art is very nice.
Stuart Jensen
A+! Love the new airport. Can't wait for it to be finished. The walk to B gates is a pain, but TSA is so slick, it makes up for it.
Eaze Up
Delta did a great job checking me in. My terminal was very far away but I arrived early enough so it wasn't an issue.
Stacie Graves
Looking pretty SLC. It's a BIG airport now, so plan plenty of time to get to your gate (I was at a B gate, which took some time). Security was smooth, everyone was super nice. Lots of great food options and it doesn't hurt that everything is brand new
May hoyt
Helpful staff. Huge building. Gorgeous interior. Slow security. Better get plenty of time not only for security, but for all the walking from one place to another. First experience there was good other than multiple delays of the flight which was probably unrelated to the airport itself.
Billy Nieminen
Hey you gotta fly somewhere? This place knows how to hook you up!! If you're taking the cheap seats be prepared to walk a mile down to the B gates. Delta has all the A gates. Very nice artsy feel to it. Really used that budget wisely to make it a nice looking place to travel.
Mark Faur
Construction, has you walk once around the planet before boarding any planes at Gates B25 and above. Then you walk some more outside, then take a bus, then walk outside a bit more :))
Make sure you get to your gate at boarding start time! The trip from TSA to plane takes a good 30min.
Justin Budikentjana
Bathrooms were very clean and the spacing between shops and gates was well thought out. The only thing I would change is having more seats at the B gates.
Larry Wigal
Nice airport. If you are flying out at 7 am on a Friday you do not need to be at the airport 2 hours early, especially if you have tsa precheck.
Kyle Miller
How do I separate the airport from the TSA....the airport is nice, clean, easy to navigate. The security line - not so much. We're all just trying to get somewhere, why do I feel like I'm being bullied in middleschool again just going through a TSA security line. I'm sure they are stressed, overworked, underpaid, whatever - not sure why a majority of them have to be so short and rude with people who didn't chose to stand around for an hour to get through security. Only advice I can give is get there early, put in your earpods in line, and just bite your tongue till you're through. And for the love of God dump your liquids before hand, and take out your electronics to go through the x ray thing. You'd think it's a capitol crime here in Salt Lake City for forgetting to do so based on how I saw some folks get treated
david holloway
Nice airport. I slept in the terminal between my connections. Fairly quiet and mostly undisturbed during the nighttime lull when no flights were coming or going. The folks cleaning the terminal were as quiet and respectful of me sleeping as they could be. My only issue was a repetitive airport announcement every few minutes with current COVID-19 requirements in the airport.
William Broadhead
Coming along. Still, you want to be in the A Terminal vs the B Terminal.
alec o
Good airport long check line. Really good food.
Michael S
The new Salt Lake Airport is amazing. It's huge and takes forever to get to some gates, but they have plenty of moving walkways. I love going through TSA here because of the new high tech systems they have now. It's a new experience and so much more convenient than before. Definitely won't regret flying out of the new and improved airport.
Tom Hagstrom
It's an excellent place to train for a Grand Canyon rim to rim hike. Also good training for folks who like to show up at the airport 30 minutes before the flight.
David Sanders
Just opened this week, still getting some of the links out. Very nice, open floor space. Slightly weird set up with check in and security on different levels. It isn't a big issue, just not what I'm used to. Overall a good layout.
kelly hunsaker
The longest walk of all time between terminals. I appreciate the shops and massage options. Park and wait lot is a lifesaver.
Amy Lantz
Nice airport, very clean with nice shops to include duty free. However the B gate section is about a 7 to 10 minute walk from the main terminal.
Ino De Guzman
easily accessible and once inside, eaisly navigatable as well - last time i was here was back in 2017 so to see the airport here having just done their renovations well is a great look
just not a fan of charging the passengers 6USD for use of the carts (our home's airport doesn't) but maybe that's just how things are here
Tom Abernathy
Southwest airlines is a very, very, very long walk, lol... TSA was great and efficient this Thanksgiving weekend.
Nancy Lowery
Crazy updated and clean. Open past 10 pm for food. Great layover spot. International travel entry was quick and painless.
Anne Hoesing
Airport is nice, but going from terminal B to baggage claim was a ridiculous hike. Not good when your bag wheels are broken.
C Odesa
The new terminals are world class; spacious with ample seats and charging ports and very fast wifi. There's an abundance of retail shops and restrooms with Delta lounges at every terminal.
Liquid Light
I appreciate that it's undergoing major renovations, but maybe if they'd spent a little less time and money on art installations as part of the initial build, and then all the time and money to make the videos bragging about all the art (which totally could've been added as part of the finish work later, the art and the brags) they could've spent those resources getting the links between the new A and B terminals online so it's not a two mile hike from security to over half the gates. Seriously, they printed on the signs in the underground access that the B gates are a 7 minute walk!? Also, I know it's hard to tell from the outside but how is it that in the last year it seems like they've made zero progress in anything? Three least they could do is have some updates or timelines posted in the airport to give us some HOPE that it will ever get better. One passive though is that thankfully they seem to FINALLY be enforcing "no parking, no waiting" at the passenger pickup, which helps a ton getting you out of the airport.
David Daniel
One of the easiest airports to navigate.
Tricia Jensen
The new Salt Lake International Airport is beyond impressive. The expansive space will serve this community and its visitors well into the future. It was a much needed upgrade!
Rob Pittman
Good, not yet great, international airport. Prepare to walk a loooong way to your departure gate or baggage claim!
Terry Wallace
It's been a while since I flew through salt Lake and I loved the upgrades and reconstructed art at the airport
Steven Fuller
Not sure what I was expecting here. Something better, I guess. The new airport doesn't have a lot of character. It feels brighter than the old one though. So that is good. Update: I've been through many more times since I originally posted. My opinion has not changed.
Leslie B
Food on terminal B... has been a bust last two visits. Not the great fare I have gotten used to in SLC. Still great waitresses and helpful flight counters/ attendants.
Mark Michaelis
Clean, open, great views!! New terminal will be huge.
Tim Miller
Love connecting through SLC when flying with Delta. Recent terminal renovations have really improved the quality of the layover. Grab a window seat when flying into SLC for a great view of the City and surrounding areas.
Jean Robinson
The airport is simple to use. The walk is great since I have to sit on a plane for a few hours.

Gorgeous BRAND NEW airport! Has all the things. High end restaurants and shopping, wifi, usb charging at every seat, excellent security, fast check in. It's huge so be prepared to walk a ways to your gate. Flows beautifully. Gorgeous architecture. I can't say enough about this beautiful new airport!

Definitely one of the cleanest airports I’ve been to and TSA wasn’t awful either.

Security was a breeze. Walking to/from gate B is a challenge if you're tight on time. The airport didn't really think first before constructing this new setup.

This is a bit of a runny dink airport. Not much in the way of shops. TSA Pre Check opens later than regular and regular TSA security is kind of slow because there are so many people. True this airport is being rebuilt, but until then...

Out of all the airports I have been to this is one of the most efficient ones. Especially when it comes to time going through security and checking in bags. The only complaint I have is that I was not aware that laptops were not allowed in your laptop bag or they will search all of your luggage!
