Reviews of Keller Auditorium

Beautiful place to have a show or event of any kind. The event hall has great acoustics and the balcony availability is a plus. Getting in was a breeze and the seats were comfortable. Transportation outside of the city was fairly easy on a Sunday night at 11pm. Pioneer Square was about six blocks and a fun walk. Will be back for more.

Keller is a beautiful auditorium to catch a show. We parked 2 blocks away at a city garage for $5.00. They had every door staffed, there was no line to wait in, just walk up to bag check and then through the door to the ticket person. We were given instructions as to what door to enter the auditorium through to find our seats. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. After the show the side exits make leaving quick and pain free. An overall a wonderful event at a special place.

The Keller Auditorium is beautiful. With the Keller Fountain Park right in front; a park I remember playing in as a kid on those hot summer days. I haven't been to a show at the Keller in at least a decade; having the opportunity to come back and experience an amazing "Heilung" performance there was amazing. Architecturally, the auditorium is stunning; the artfully designed acoustical ceiling distinguishes itself.
The light show that accompanied the performance was... Intense. The flashes were a little invasive at times; with every hit of the bass drum, I was strobed violently in the face with four lights. I had to resort to synchronized blinking just to be able to see; by the time my eyes just began to recover, they were bombarded with more flashes - I hope there were no epileptics in there. However those 60 seconds aside, the lighting created a great ambience and when paired with the fog machines - it really set the mood.
I had a great experience there; the staff was helpful and everything went smoothly (as far as I was concerned). If you have an opportunity to see a performance here - GO! It's not a place to mosh pit or anything because it's a seated Auditorium but if you're down to watch something (seated - which were decently comfortable), it's great.

The Keller was good!!! The staff was a bit frantic with lines and moving people around. I feel they could have done a better job explaining to people what was going on when they were telling us to move to different areas while in lines. They could have benefited from having multiple band merchandise tables since that line was inside the building running down the length of the entire first floor all the way to the entrance. It was a bit chaotic. The bands were great! The crowd was fun, but not too rowdy for the experience. I hope that the staff can come up with better ways to address safety issues with patrons and organize the inside of the main floor better, otherwise, it was great!

We watched ‘To kill a mockingbird here at the theater. This was our first time at this venue. They opened their doors about an hour before the start. There is a minibar and a small snack counter inside, and a few restrooms, which were not enough for the people that attended the play. There are parking places Around the area, which is convenient. We enjoyed that night!

This is Portland's main home for traveling Broadway shows. I'm glad we have such a nice, large facility but the building badly needs a remodel. A lack of space on the first floor leads to overcrowding. Bathroom lines are beyond acceptable. Concessions are limited and good luck buying souvenirs. Seems like doing some reconfiguring internally and bumping out the front of the building to take over the covered area out front would go a long way towards making this a world class facility. Plus there would be so many more concession opportunities to generate additional revenue.
Chad Nygard
Been here a few times. The staff is allways great. This Auditorium is a great experience. 5 buck parking near on Sundays.
Chris Reavis
It's a great venue and glad it's here. Floors are hard concrete and seats are rough for 2 hours. Water is $6 a bottle. Staff very friendly and visibility and audio is great.
Riley Hoagland
The Nutcracker was my first experience within the Keller Auditorium. So many people in a small space. If that's anxiety inducing, get there early to be close to one of the seating entrances. There was plenty of staff helping patrons find their entrance.
The seating was sufficient.
The sound was incredible. You can hear all the finer notes and subtleties of each member. It was lovely.
Carrie Clark
The Keller Auditorium is a great venue, we just went to The Werq the World Tour and it was so much fun! Before that we saw Hamilton here which was AMAZING!
Savannah Meekins
Went to a comedy show for Jim Jeffries. Comedy was great. Acoustics in the theatre were very good. There could be more concession stands and the food wasn't superb.

Moulin Rouge was Spectacular! We sat on the floor level and looking around, doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house! The sound was good, also.
Michael Turpin
I went to see Moulin Rouge here early January of 2023 and it was lovely.
Besides the show, which was a delight, the facilities were lovely.
Restrooms were clean and accessible if a little hard to find for someone unfamiliar with theater conventions (they're labeled as lounges).
Parking can be tricky but there is a big parking garage nearby; your mileage may vary with regards to availability of spaces therein.
Overall it was a lovely time, and from what I could tell there's not a seat in that place that doesn't have solid visibility of the stage.
Jodel Fernandez
I went to the Keller Auditorium for the first time to see Moulin Rouge. It was surprisingly an amazing show. My all-time favorite musical is The Phantom of the Opera, and it was hard not to love this one as much as I love Phantom. There wasn't a dull moment. The story is well written. So much energy! Great cast. Great crowd. It's definitely wonderful to have the opportunity to attend live shows like this again. My heart is filled with joy when I see people doing what they love to do, and it was evident that the performers had so much passion in their craft. It's contagious! I'm super glad I went.
The auditorium is smaller than I expected which was a good thing. I can't imagine there are any bad seats. I was seated further in the back of the orchestra section and the acoustics as well as my view were great, and those two things are my top two priorities when it comes to watching a show. After all, what's the point of watching live if you can't see or hear very well?
Izabella LoGiudice
My fiancé and I have been here to see several shows. We most recently saw Hamilton! The Keller never disappoints! It is a beautiful building, the staff is wonderful. There is not a bad seat in this place. There is a beautiful water feature across the street. It's a wonderful place to take photos before going to a show.
Bryan Koch
Beautiful venue, really enjoyed the show they brought to town. Only minor nitpick was the seating not being intuitive based on how the ticket was formatted. Saw multiple other people going to the wrong entrance as well. The ticket says " section B, row Y, Seat 9 in one area, but I have to go in at Aisle 3, noted in a totally different spot on the ticket as "entry 3". Very helpful staff steered everyone where they needed to go, but it could have been better explained on the ticket.
Sharon Elmer
Keller Auditorium has always been a favorite of mine. It has remained beautiful after several years. The employees were spectacular. Extremely helpful and great personalities. A few were over the top accommodating and went out of their way to assist me. Terrance and Lance were among those. Thank you.

We came for the show of Moulin Rouge ! It is also the first time to be in Keller , we were lucky enough to get the seat so close to the stage , and the whole show was nice and joyful. We love musicals , and this one definitely makes our night even more enjoyable. The music varies from Tina Tuna , Lady Gaga, Sting , Adel , A-ha…., so many and so amazingly combined all of them brilliantly!
Lynette Wyller
Keller Auditorium is located in a beautiful part of downtown Portland, Oregon. There were various concessions in the lobby with souvenirs from the Nutcracker. The snacks were limited to a few selections of candy and one brand of potato chips. Pretzels and a pastry at one nutstand were available. The view from all angles in relation to the stage seemed good if you get your reservations in late, (but my favorite place to sit is the first tier or balcony up front to get the best view of the stage no matter where I am. The seats were comfortable and a good size. If you go to a matinee, it may be a good idea to spend the night in Portland if you are driving. The rush hour going south has significant traffic.
JoC (JoC)
Love the auditorium and layout. We watched the last day of CATS, the musical and it was great.
Right infront of the auditorium 1 is a great waterfall fixture (Keller Fountain) that families are enjoying.
10/19/2022 Another great play in a wonderful auditirium. My in-laws who attened with us really love how conveniently located it is - restaurants and most of all parking lots.
Tracy Long
It's a small venue. All the seats are pretty seem to have a great view. There are SO MANY BATHROOMS! they have an elevator attendant with personality. All the ushers were so kind and seem like they enjoy what they do.
Kris Mijares
The Keller Auditorium is probably my favorite venue for shows and music in Portland. Just the right size! Not too big, not too small. Wonderful people work there and many fine people generously volunteer their time. I hope they know I appreciate them all. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. The current production of "Too Kill a Mockingbird" is outstanding. I'll be back to Keller Auditorium in early November for "Carmen." I can hardly wait. Thank you Keller!
Alita Hawksworth
Plenty of paid parking garages around Keller.
Easy in process as there are many entrances/exits.
Finding our seats quickly.
Sound system is great during shows.
What staff we interacted with were friendly.
CHRIS VAN METER
Love this other than the steep downgrade to get to seats, almost tripped, and hurts the arthritic knees.
JChris Sanchez
Took daughter and grandson to their first live Nutcracker... Production was excellent and the theater was beautiful... The only recommendations would be better line management outside the main entrances... more concessions areas specifically at box level.... and crowd control around souvenir tables... But none of that took away from the experience... We all had a great time!!
Astro Eclipse
We saw Moulin Rouge and it was amazing! Love the amount of seats in the theater (2 balconies!), and amazing overall experience :)
CSL
I see an article where Portland wants to renovate it. They'll probably ruin it like everything else. It's older, yes, but has a lot of character and seemed to be in great condition. I had seats in Orchestra and the accoustics were great; the seats were tiered properly to afford a clear view.
Greta Kessler
Beautiful, clean, cozy, not the biggest but fit so many people and not overly stuffy. There is a parking garage that is easily found right across the street. I was worried at first about parking but it was easier than what I was ready for, so that was a pleasant surprise.
Everyone inside was very friendly, polite, and elegant. The show itself was an amazing experience- a true masterpiece. I recommend for anyone to go see Shen Yun, you will have a fantastic time, as we did.
Thank you again for such a spectacular night!
Angel :3
The moulin rouge was absolutely gorgeous, the staff were incredibly friendly and the bathrooms were easily accessible. Can’t wait to come again <3
Scott Shiigi
This is a review for Hadestown and not the Keller. We really enjoyed the show-the singing was amazing by everyone involved.
Mark Ryan Alot
It was our first time to watch OBT's The Nutcracker. The place was nice and we were under-dressed. The place was cozy and we had a blast! Definitely coming back to watch more shows.
Sirretta Hawkins
This Show was the most Memorable, Beautiful Event I have ever Attended. My Daughter and Grandchildren were Amazed at the Performance of all the Dancers, they will remember "The Nutcracker " for the rest of their Lives.
Jonathan Orleck
An amazing venue, quite the experience. I love the box seats. Comfortable, excellent viewing of the show even at the most extreme angled boxes.
Just a great place to take in a show!
linda
I went to see Dita Von Teese and wow, genuinely what an amazing first experience with this beautiful venue. Parking is also easy to find. I definitely can’t wait to go to more events in the future!

A year ago, I’d give this place a 4+ rating; today we just had a really disappointing experience there for the Nutcracker. Did you know after paying $60+ a ticket seeing a ballet performance in a reputable theater, some shows are NOT done by live orchestra, rather it’s a recording?? I always purchase tickets directly from the Oregon Ballet and with their “generous” 40% off, I paid four tickets of $45 each for good seats. Later just by chance, I learned of all places at Groupon that some performances are not with live music which was not indicated on OBT site. Okay about the Keller Auditorium, every years Nutcracker shows are so crowded that going to the bathroom is always a struggle esp with small children. Today we were literally 1 or 2 mins late and were told, we had to be seated at the very back of the theater for Act 2! It’s my kids first experience with nutcracker and we were SO disappointed. There was no time to get through the long line for the bathroom! And added that it’s not even live music, I don’t think we will return next year.
Don Roessler
Had 2nd row center seats and were well worth the cost. All the facilities features were to everyone's advantage but if you are wearing very high heels be careful as you start down the aisles as they are very steep.
sejisk
Watched the Broadway musical "Cats" here, such a fancy place!
J. H. Poggendorf
Fantastic performance, premier talent, exceptional staging, marvelous orchestra, outstanding flats and props and backstage support....and all in a glorious physical facility/theatre.
Couldn't have asked for a finer afternoon!!!
Christopher Dupell
Always a good place to see a play. They're a little strict and there's not much concession unless it's intermission. That's my only complaint. They should be servicing 24/7 because that's part of the experience we pay for.
Erika Bataran
Love the shows here and pretty good prices. But the seats are super uncomfortable.
Candice Ray
Keller is a staple in PDX. Ballet, theater, concerts you name it. The venue is gorgeous and prices are fair.
Seating is uncomfortable chairs are a bit lower and the rows close together, isles on ground level very steep.
No bad view in the house!
D. I.A.
It is a nice one yet has some disadavantages. Too tight seating, I felt suffocated. Entree is not large enough to accomodate people, WC line was from one side to the half of the lobby.
Tony R (Toe-knee)
Only problem I had was the steep slope down to the front seating area. Difficult to get up and down the aisle with a prosthetic leg, outherwise it was a great place for a show.
Paul Weber
PORTLAND ! WE ARE SO LUCKY
Great venue for Broadway Across America shows ... very good acoustics, great site lines, friendly ushers. Top notch venue. TOP NOTCH BROADWAY ACROSS AMERICA TOURS and TOP NOTCH SPECIAL PERFORMANCES!
If you are a woman and typically need to use the rest room at intermission, book your seats on the right side of the auditorium as the women's rooms are on that side and the lines are ridiculous, so by sitting closer you'll arrive at the first group in the queue.
The dinner buffets prior to shows are hit or miss or in our case, miss or really miss, as it always smells and looks good except for the two times we did it, it was terrible .. very disappointing. RECENT SHOWS INCLUDE am amazing show with Lord Huron proving the venue works just as well for a loud live show too and last night BAA Hadestown ... wow ... but more about that later. Great venue. Buy your tickets Now!
Liane H.
Love going. Nice place and nice people. Will say, now with COVID measures you cannot eat at your seat which is a little sad. They have great snacks.
Update 1/7/23: Masks are optional now so food and drink can be eaten in the theater! Still a great show.
Hala Awad
Enjoyed the show as usual but I couldn’t get in till after 15 minutes from the show because I was 5 min late. After that people were in and out in the middle of songs. I didn’t know what was the reason and I was by myself.
Kim Scott
The place to see traveling Broadway shows or have big meetings/presentations in PDX. The 2nd balcony is way high up, so you might want to bring binoculars if you are up there.
Lindsey Petersen
We came and saw The Phantom of the Opera here, and it was amazing! The facility is clean and free of debris. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The seats are a smidge uncomfortable, but what can you do, it's an old Auditorium. I'm looking forward to this venue again in the future.
Scott Yngsdal
Place needs some upgrades to the lobby spaces. Bathrooms desperately need to be expanded and upgraded. The grounds on the property could also use some attention.
Leslee
We saw Moulin Rouge and it was wonderful. I advise anyone who likes Musicals to go and enjoy all the wonderful talent!
Jeremy Black
Went to see the Nutcracker, It was awesome
Rick K
Pretty nice auditorium but the sound was not that great. We watched a concert there, st Vincent. It was nice to see a bunch of areas to purchase drinks as most venues have a lack of areas and as such are extremely large lines. The bathrooms get busy but if you make your way upstairs those lines are shorter.
Ken Davis
Always a great venue and experience at Keller. There are no bad seats and the staff is always pleasant helpful!
Rebecca Fry
Wonderful shows put on here. Parking garage right across the way, always friendly folks working here to serve and inform
Will Skaggs
Had a good time. Nice theater. But seems a little musty and dated. Thinks maybe it's time for a update.
Mark Nimphius
Great venue! Moulin Rouge was fantastic!
Grace Hoover
Always enjoy the Keller for a show or ballet. The venue is set up well and check in and seating is easy to find.
Lisa Neef
Wonderful venue to see a theater production. I don't think there is a bad seat in the entire place!
Colby Black
I would have given 5 stars, except my husband and I took 5 steps out to wait for our Lyft, ( was 12 minutes away) and I turned around thinking I better use the restroom real quick, and the guy at the door was pretty rude, and said " dont you see the sign that there is no re-entry!" even though I explained that my hand was barely off the door and I just needed to use the restroom. NOPE, did not let me back in. hmmm
Ryan Sternke
Friendly staff, but not nearly enough bartenders on staff, on any of the floors. If anyone tells you the lines are shorter on the third level, don't buy it. Me thinks they are just driving people upstairs to make sure all the bartenders have a nice, Loooong, line to plow through. No problem with that, but make sure every bar has at least 2 crew. We enjoyed Interpol for the most part; I do think this venue is better suited for any show that doesn't involve standing. The slope of the lower concourse was just steep enough to cause lower back pain after only a couple hours. The acoustics are really better suited for spoken word, and possibly orchestral/operatic music (or maybe it was the mix and/or our "seating"). Not sure if I would see another musical act here, but definitely come for comedy/play type deal. Also, eat before you come, the food options are LAME, when is the last time you choked down a giant, dry preztel? I recommend the EXCELLENT Murata Sushi that's just around the corner for pre-show noshing.
Jeremiah Thornton
While this auditorium is quite large, no seat feels too far away. The prices are pretty good, as each group sets their rates competitively. Parking is only $5-$10 at either of the two parking garages adjacent to the theater, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby, as well as a restaurant and concessions inside (which the prices aren't terrible, but aren't great). Every performance is high quality, and the ushers are respectful and helpful. Highly recommend any performance here!
Alicia Nicole
I can hardly wait till theater is a regular activity in my mother's and my life again!
The lighting: superior, the entrance, the atmosphere, the location: another world!
The productions are worth year round tickets! I adore that we have such a fine establishment to enjoy live theater not too far away.
Always, always an adventure that has never disappointed - since I was a freshman in HS, going on over two decades if enjoyment 💛
Chen Chen
It was amazing to watch Broadway’s Hamilton here. The environment is comfort and Show is spectaculars!
Dave Lovejoy
As always we enjoy our annual tradition of attending the Nutcracker. Thank you Keller for hosting us!
Jake Cole
I don’t think there is Abad seat in the place. The acoustics and view are outstanding.
CJ P
In need of repairs. Good acoustics. Good drink options. Sometimes security is way too uptight & sometimes it’s way too lax, it depends on the performers & crowd.
Aimee Fritsch
Facility is beautiful, production value is always excellent. However, balcony 2 seating is not comfortable for larger bodied humans. As a women's pant size 22, I barely fit, and the chairs dug into my hips. In the future I'll look into different seating options.
Brett Redfield
Saw Jesus Christ Superstar and absolutely loved. The venue is amazing and the view of the stage is spectacular
Jason Zerbel
I like this venue but it has a few quirks that can make it interesting. Like the men and women bathrooms are on opposite sides of the venue. They have lounge areas outside of the bathrooms. There are no cup holders at your seat so you have hold your drink or set it on the ground. Or drink it quickly so you can clap. The bars are professionally staffed and have a good selection of beers. The ushers were friendly and helpful for finding your seat in the dark. The best thing was that parking was only 7 bucks for the event right next door.
jimmy chacaj-solis
Went to go see the Shen-Yun performance.
Arrive at least 30 minutes early and possibly earlier if the performance you are seeing is really popular!
Rachel Proper
My only issue was just how much garbage there was in the water! That was after watching a family come and cool themselves with this filthy water that smells so strongly of bleach. Another gentleman started picking up the garbage outside of the fountain. Well. That was my gumption to help. So I asked the other couple there to watch my e bike and stuff, they agreed. I then spent the next hour getting garbage out of only half the fountain!!! Especially where it filters the water. Sooooooo many bags! Filled up that stone pebble garbage 15 ft from this fountain up! Mind you I just recovered from a stroke 4 days prior. Perseverance folks.
Gary Sanders
Super nice venue, comfortable seats, although a little right in the legroom for us taller folks. Hosts a wide range of entertainment...I’ve seen killer bands and heard inspiring talks here.
Kathryn Larimer
We've had season tickets to Broadway Across America for years and sadly this was our last season. The Keller Auditorium has the nicest employees and volunteers, a small assortment of snacks and drinks during intermission, and restrooms that are clean and well kept. We'll miss our shows and hope to find something like it in our newly relocated area.
Cindy McCoy
Always a nice place to see a show. Staff are friendly and helpful. My only hesitation was the lack of security, which I found odd.
Kim Luttrell
Good venue for shows, but the seats are pretty tight if you're a person of size. Opt for the balcony box if you can. The ushers and staff are great.
D. Lewis Champie
I find it hard to believe that this is really how the bourgeoisie enjoy upper crust entertainment.
To put it in perspective; I've sat in more comfortable seats on a Frontier Airlines flight. I can't imagine people really want to be entertained and at the same time share arm rests while their back is pressed into a hard piece of un-cushioned metal. My arms were tingling before the show even started.
And forget about getting up to go to the bathroom, you can't even get out without everyone in your row having to stand up. Just another example of the rich trying to squeeze as many humans into a building as possible so they can suck as much money out of the space as possible.
Five bucks for a bottle of water that ended up being OPEN when I got it. And forget asking for ice unless you want it in a cup the same size as the ones you get at the dentist.
alex Williams
Great venue. However, so needs more rest rooms.. terrible lineups
Matthew Kress
The shows are often great. Sound system works well and the lighting looks good. The venue is just OK. Not particularly fancy or special.
Brenden Coyle
The cast is always amazing, there is really no bad seats, staff is helpfull and kind, bar is reasonably priced and makes stiff drinks though the selection is on the smaller side.
Elizabeth Stanwood
Amazing, beautiful venue and we had an amazing time with comfortable seats and great view for the Rex Orange County concert! Can't wait til he comes back to town. Always love shows at the Keller for the amazing acoustics.
Bill Melcher
We just saw Hadestown at Keller Auditorium, which was a fantastic production of a fantastic musical. Persephone played by Kimberly Marable was amazing. The show and music garner five stars while the venue is showing its age. The late July show was almost as warm inside as out. The volunteers however were great.
Robin Zimmerman
Just two blocks up from Pioneer Square makes max convenient. Lines going in always move quickly. The snacks and drinks can take a while but nothing abnormal. Not a bad seat in the the house. Just some that are better.
Brian Levy
Regulars for Best of Broadway. Sound quality really depends upon traveling troupes systems. Always fun evening.
Mitch Groce
Wonderful venue for touring Broadway shows. Recommend Morton's happy hour before your show
Andrew S
Theatre itself is clean . Only issue with the seats , they're crazy uncomfortable and worn out .
Parking is cheap and easy to find around the auditorium .
Jonas Carter
Great auditorium. Always clean and we've seen quite a few wonderful performers here.
Brendan Clark
The Will Call and Lobby area are quite small, I would recommend to get your tickets well before the show and get there early if you would like to purchase concessions. The actual auditorium is quite nice with an older feel to it. Beyond the quality of the show you are seeing the venue creates the perfect atmosphere, especially for broadway musicals.
Insider tip: avoid the double letter seats in the middle orchestra section, the light and sound board are up there and are distracting. The end of the alphabet in the right or left against the aisle are often cheaper but the same view as their more expensive counterparts.
PDX M
It is a great venue and no I’m in the orchestra towards the back I could still see the stage very well well
Eugene Lee
Modern theater with fairly comfortable seats. Above average leg room. Use the bathrooms and bars on upper levels and balcony to avoid lines in main lobby.
Eric Nelson
Beautiful venue , great location. Decent price drinks and snacks. Good sound. Hope to visit there again
Amanda
Was here for the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 last night. Very enjoyable place and parking is right across the way. Seems a little outdated, especially the consessions. I brought in my own treats instead. There isn't any sort of security getting in which is a little scary in this time and age.
Collin Berry
Wow and Wow! Best auditorium I have been to. Access and parking was an absolute breeze, there are so many parking lots/garages around at a fair cost. The building itself is in great shape. Not too massive so that you can't see. We sat in the boxes for Eddie Izzard. The seats were above average comfort for a robust person. I would definitely go back!
Donna Courtney
I watched "to kill a mocking bird" with Richard Thomas. He did great, and most of the troup!! Other then that the seats uncomfortable but great night for my bday!!
David LaFrance
Excellent show, great venue.
Drinks are small and overpriced as expected and the seats need to be updated. Maybe like chairs you can at least replace the cushions once a decade so I don't have back pain by the end.
Overall good experience. Definitely going back after seeing the nut cracker and Dracula.
David Enriquez
This show was great, the $10.00 hot dog was not. Burnt and the bun was chewy. Eat before or after.
Ernie Sawyer
The staff were friendly and knowledgable. We saw Wicked and it was awesome! The theater, hallways and restrooms were all clean and the building was easy to navigate. There is parking nearby (across the street).
Alice Quezada
We had dinner in the cafe which was a buffet. The food was good. The auditorium is nice. But... There are not enough toilets available. During intermission there must have been a hundred people in line for the toilets. There was not enough time unless you ran out before the end of the show to go at break.
Kenneth Young
Fantastic shows, spacious seating, and plenty of parking with little to no walking.
Bonnie Etson
I enjoy every show I have been to. The place is beautiful.
Shelby Ann Davis
Beautiful auditorium! If you get second balcony, you can still hear the show so clearly.
Vicki Thomas
Clean, well lit. Very, very nice staff. Seats are moderately comfortable.
Holly Mellgren
Good views from all seating areas, no pillar obstructions! The staff was very helpful and informative, I felt like they would prevent any issues before they could start. And best part, awesome acoustics!!
Nancy Brett
I love going to shows and events at Keller Auditorium. It is easy to access and always has fun stuff.
Jennifer Sublett
Great venue and awesome performance. Should have more help around the merchandise table.
myfriendmike (myfriendmike)
I've seen a few shows at Keller, and they generally deliver. But this review is about the actual place, not the shows... hmmm... The bathroom capacity could be increased. With a full house, people are still in the bathroom line (yes, even the men's lounge) when the packed show picks back up. The seats are comfortable enough. Ummm...plenty of parking garages around... Concessions people are friendly... Coffee was excellent 👍 I think that's all the opinion I have.
anthony washington
A beautiful and amazing place! Just saw a show called To kill a mockingbird a few weeks ago it was amazing
Tara Ross
Wonderful! All seats are great. The Nutcracker was splendidly done. A superb performance!
Oaklynn Adrianna
If you truly would like a reading with a psychic that is authentic and real, I highly suggest this Psychic (name). Amazing and kind person.
JA F
Good smaller venue... just my style! My only reservation is once you go through the doors and enter the auditorium, watch your step..pretty steep drop. In and out of aisles have similar drops. Pay attention! Other than that... loved the Nut Cracker presentation there. Great music backup too!
Debra Torres-Reyes
Beautiful. Finally I got to see Shen Yun. Plenty of parking. Great venue.
Tom Greenwood
Seats are comfortable enough, no complaints. I could see the stage even when the person infront of me wasn’t short.
Drinks are served during intermission only, they could double their drinks sales if they sold to the men who are waiting for their wives waiting to use the women’s restroom.
The place could use better ventilation.
Nick Chambers
A great venue! Saw Bill Burr here. Not a bad seat. I was in orchestra, section 5, row dd. I'd say if you want to see the details of facial expression, you'd want orchestra level, A-Z, but not double letter rows or balcony. Otherwise, any seat is a good view. From DD, with 20/20 vision, I could almost make out facial details, but it was still close enough to enjoy everything about the show. Center or side row doesn't matter. All angles are fine.
Also, the balcony level overhang does not obstruct any views, although if there was a high flying show like cirque de soleil or wicked I imagine it might for the very back.
David G2
Best venue in Portland for live theater! Every seat is good.
Sandy Renfrow
This was my first time here. What a beautiful venue. I went to watch the Walk Off The Earth concert. It was nice to be able to take a drink into the auditorium as long as you put a lid on your cup.
Caitlin
Great venue, employees are friendly and helpful. Felt very Covid-safe, proof of vaccination was required for entry. Saw Hannah Gatsby, and it was a great show! The first one I have seen in pandemic times.
Michael Cooper
My bestie and I went there to see Anastasia and it was amazing. The Auditorium was large and amazing looking. There are a lot of stairs. The performance and the actors were amazing as well. I fell in love with all the costumes. We weren't able to stay long in the building but what we did see was amazing. Can't wait to come again!
Julie Hedford
Always love seeing shows here! Wish that they had an intermission and allowed cocktails in the venue as they did in the past... But it was a great show!!
Jason Smith
Saw Jason Isbelle. Was an awesome show venue was beautiful had a great time
Kate Paliakova
We went to see the Nutcracker. I enjoyed the experience. The auditorium is not too big so no matter where you sit, you still have a good view of the stage. However, if you are sitting on the first row you will be looking up the stage.
Leigh Harper
Excellent venue, personable staff and very expensive bottles of water. Nutcracker was Excellent!
Helios Ovando
Great show, Moulin Rouge. Wonderful staff at the theater, great venue.
Marguerite Rawitzer
Loved the ballet performance of Pas de Deux, and Midsummer Night's Dream. There was plenty of nearby parking.
Rodrigo Silva Freitas
structure is pretty good, heilung show was incredible
Hope
I've seen a good amount of things here at Keller Auditorium, from big name comedy acts to musicals. While the venue prices for drinks or light snacks are pretty expensive, it's to keep a great institution running. (There are also a multitude of places to grab drinks or chow surrounding the venue itself, as well as a dining area in the first level if you don't feel like hunting for a place nearby). The venue itself is clean and accommodating, and has a fleet of incredibly helpful and friendly staff and ushers to help make your night a memorable one :)
Jill Wynn
I went with some family to see Wicked. What an amazing experience!
We parked in a garage on 3rd and Columbia ($6 for the night). It is a cool location with a waterfall across the street. Inside can get so chaotic before, during, and after the show because the lobby is not very big and there's a lot of people trying to cram in there for drinks, merchandise, food, or their seats. The bathroom situation is ridiculous and I would highly recommend going to the bathroom prior to the show elsewhere during intermission.
The ushers were so very helpful and kind and getting out of the show wasn't too bad. Although, I really wish they would have a designated smoking area outside away from the front enrtance. It was disgusting to try to get fresh air during intermission and take a photo in front of the play poster only to be bombarded with smoke at every turn.
Sam Fernandez
Friendly staff and great performance 👏🏽
Amazing nutcracker dancers.
Set design 👌 …
Ken Hansen
Amazing venue! Super clean theater with very professional staff.
Josh Carter
Nice auditorium. Easy drop off out front if you arrive by Uber. Disabled and bariatric seating available at rear orchestra and corner boxes. Limited concessions, but bar is ample and there is a restaurant that’s open before most Broadway shows. Only two public elevators, but they are attended, so they tend to move people fairly quickly.
Brian Legate
Been coming to this place for years. View from the 2nd balcony.
Nathon Dalton
The auditorium is beautiful and spacious and the entire experience is amazing. However, on a practical note, the lobby and restrooms are simply not sufficient for the number of people attending. You're packed in like sardines; barely enough room to breath, with the aweful thought in the back of your mind... what if there was a fire right now? There is no way we could get out. Other than that though, it truely is a magical place. Well worth visiting!
Natasha Booth
Went to go see Hamilton for the first time, it was amazing even for not being all of the original cast members
Moraina Deishl
The Keller is a gorgeous theater! Be sure to get there early if you want time to go to the bathroom, drink, mosey to your seats.
McKenzie Schreiner
Wonderful. Get seats in the middle, that way you won't miss any scenes to the side. Went to the Dracula ballet and it was amazing. Those phenomenal athletes, amazing symphony and killer stage sets/lighting. We went to another world today!
Niko Zuellos
Great venue. Easy in, easy out, good sound quality.
David Leisten
The venue was great. Staff was polite. Lines were non- existant. Shound quality was bad, but I don't picture it as a venue for rock bands anyway, so I blame that more on the band management then the venue (Interpol).
Dominic Lemas
Efficient but thorough security. Well maintained facilities. Great location for a night at the theater 🎭 …
Omar Prado
I really enjoyed watching the nutcracker. Easy to get to and the staff rocks 💥 thank you! …
Nic H.
Keller is a wonderful building and host to a variety of incredible shows. Just be prepared to stand in looking bathroom and bar lines lines. The building itself focuses on more contemporary features as opposed to orante interiors. Overall a lovely place to enjoy a great time.
John Zingale
This was my first time sitting in the upper balcony. My wife and I had first row seats there, and it was perfect. The view, the sound, all of it. I will look for seats line this again.
Tyler Williams
Went to see Hamilton at the Keller Auditorium on the last night that it was being shown. This was my first time inside Keller Auditorium, and I enjoyed my experience. Keller still requires masks to be worn during all performances, which is something to remember before you go.
I was slightly concerned with the parking situation, considering that Keller Auditorium is in downtown Portland, near the PSU campus. Finding decent street parking can be a challenge with events. There was an independent parking garage one block north that was only charging patrons of the show $6 to park for the evening. If you were to be driving to Keller Auditorium, this would be my recommendation for parking. I still think that using Trimet is probably the best option to get to this location.
Alcoholic drinks were overpriced, as they are at any event. The selection seemed pretty good, I opted for a Deschutes Brewery IPA.
The seats overall were not bad. My partner and I sat on the top floor, all the way in the back, just barely inside the theater. Despite essentially having the “worst” seats, we could still see the performance well, and all of the dialogue and music could be heard without issue.
I would say that overall, it was a good experience at the Keller Auditorium. Nothing knocked my socks off, but then again, I don’t think it’s supposed to. That may take away from the performance.
Four stars because it was good, not great. However, I would go back for another show, albeit with a full belly and having “pre-gamed” with more reasonably priced alcohol.
Nicholas Cornelius
Its a beautiful venue but I hate how small and vlose together the seats are.
Marge Rowan
The Frozen Musical was Amazing and Stunningly Beautiful! Fabulous performances from the Whole cast! Sorry for all who cannot attend, now...😔 …
Roxanne Ross
Beautiful auditorium. Coat check, booster seats, sound amplifier equipment available for some shows, sensory bags, wine, beer, and snacks. Merchandise for the show was available to buy as well. As of April 2022 COVID vaccine or negative test required. As well as being required to wear a mask.
Darrell Stewart
Very nice facility. Bathrooms could use an upgrade. It's an older building but they have kept it up pretty good. Nearby parking is reasonable but it will take awhile to get out after an event. Not many places to eat nearby. We have a couple favorites but if you don't like Japanese food you will have to wait till after the show.
Ronnie Sylvester
Saw Lion King here and it was incredible! Even the cheaper seats have a great view. If you can get here and see a show... DO IT!
Ketamine Medic (KetamineMedic)
Saw Hamilton yesterday and it was amazing. The theater is great and it wasn't hott and stuffy! Auditorium was nice and cool. Happy that the Keller requires people to wear masks too.
Jennifer Miller
We went to the Nutcracker. The show was absolutely amazing. The seating is a little tricky if you are up in the box. If someone tall sits in front of you it blocks your view. I'm 5'7 so its not that I'm short. Its a real issue haha. Other than that I love this theater.
Luis Medrano
Nice mid-sized auditorium. We watched the nutcracker and it was fantastic! Unlike many other places, they let you get drinks inside the theater. Drinks are between 9 and 13 dollars, and only wine and beers are offered.
Clayton Ketcham
First time I’ve been to this venue. Saw Beach House and they were great and the venue was great also! I will say though it seems to get very congested near the entrance and the restroom placement was a little weird.
Monica Sandoval
Beautiful theatre, good concessions, good sound system.
Cookie Uretsky
Beautiful theatre. Seats have good view of stage
MaryJo Radosevich
Need more women bathroom at intermission. Chairs aren't so comfortable for 3 hour production..need new ones
Melody Olson
The lines at the womens bathrooms are too long to make it back to the show on time. Very disappointing.
Bob Karetsky
Massive theater. Broadway comes to Portland. Went exploring during intermission... Lots to see
J Toledo
Nice auditorium. Parking garage very close. I probably would purchase balcony tickets next time. Sitting in the first few rows made it difficult to see a lot of the stage. Went here to see Shen Yun. I imagine it would look great from the balcony. Still so beautiful to watch.
pam betteridge
Lovely venue..great sound. Very friendly staff.
Meghan Schott
Maybe since I just came from NYC but it was odd how long they delayed entry to seats. Also even though had second best seats, the view was often obstructed by the head in front of me. Overall the venue was fine but design was not made for optimal viewing
Matthew Dardis
I recently went to Keller Auditorium to see the musical pretty woman and it was amazing the auditorium itself was well lit and well laid out I bought tickets at the last minute and was sitting away in the back at the absolute top balcony as far from the stage as you could get and the view was still completely unobstructed and you could hear the cast all the way from the stage.
Jade Hill
Saw the nutcracker here! Wonderful venue and show.
Netasha Connors
Great venue. The staff is nice too. Be sure to use the restroom before it gets crowded though, the lines get crazy
Richard Whittington
Great space. Enjoyed my concert and the angles where easy to see.
Joseph Russ
I've been here a few times. Never had a bad seat. Last time I was here they were playing The Nutcracker. Not the first time I've watched it. But It was the first time watching when the dancers had to were covid masks.
Bless them for soldiering on with it, it must not have been easy.
Jen CE
The venue is nice, though accessible seats are a little on the small side. Staff did a good job enforcing mask-wearing once it was brought to their attention, but other things like loud food wrappers and crying kids went unchecked and really took away from the enjoyment of the performance.
Ann Lauritsen
Good place to we the opera
Full orchestra and good singing
Nice production
Beechnut87
We've seen a musical, ballet, play, and comedy acts here and love it. Lots of exits allow for a fairly speedy exit and there's parking close all around the area. I would recommend coming here for sure.
Noel Phillips
We have season tickets for the Broadway plays. We have found inexpensive parking across the street and have excellent seats. It is very comfortable, the plays are exactly the same as you see on Broadway in NYC. A good reason for a date!
Garrett Moore-Jones
I love this venue for Broadway shows! Good seats, great acoustics, and many options for parking near by.
Kyle Lewis
They were having trouble with some of their taps so not all beers were available. Seats are comfy enough despite the size of the place it still feels intimate. Bathrooms are clean service was friendly.
Pete Richardson
An essential part of a fine art theatre experience is waiting in a long line for the bathroom with other patrons ... and yet I was able to stroll directly into a stall on six separate occasions during a single performance of Elton John's new hip-hop project, "El-Jay the MC Hits the Street." So maybe they could close some of the facilities during prestige performances? Something to think about.
s j
The staff who worked the event were amongst the rudest staff I’ve encountered in Portland. First, our tickets said Aisle A Row J. When we get there the aisles are numbered, not lettered. We ask an usher who tells us to go to Aisle 1. We walk down to Aisle 1 and into the main event area. It’s dark and impossible to see the row letters. We ask a girl sitting what row she’s in so we can try to find our row and it’s loud so we’re having trouble hearing each other. Finally we figure it out and make our way to our seats. An usher rushes in behind us demanding to see our tickets which we show her. She tells us “you’re supposed to go through me and not bother anyone else to find your seats.” No one told us that, not the first usher we spoke to and there was no usher at the door of aisle 1, so how were we supposed to know we needed an usher to seat us? She comes back regularly and checks on us. Reminding us to put our masks on, even though we’re drinking beverages and have our masks on between sips. There are other people around us with their masks off. This specific usher seemed to be more on edge than the rest as even throughout the show she was walking up and down the aisles reprimanding people. Otherwise the venue was nice.
Sam Paul
First time at this venue and it was great! Saw Bert "the Machine" from the balcony. Wonderful seat! Nice auditorium. Big bathrooms on every floor. Drinking fountains.
Security was tighter than your high school prom dress 👗 and I waited in a line 2 hours, all the way around the block 🚫 to get in, but everyone was in good spirits (drinkable or smokeable).
Saw an ex-gf there too but with a covid mask on she just strolled on by with her new hen-pecked man. No drama and lots of jokes. I call that a great night 🌙 out.
Rebecca Dawn
This was my first real play, and it was amazing! I really liked the Keller, everything was very nice except the seats were too close together for full size people.
I'm looking forward to going back!
Ven Sprecher
I love the Keller, and have seen many fantastic plays, operas, and ballets here. The only reason it gets knocked down a star is that it's theatrical acoustics are not nearly as good as many other theaters I've been to.
Jefferson Coyle
I love it here. So many fantastic shows arrive every year. The walk in is steep so watch those fancy shoes. Enjoy the show!
Brian Harris
Went to see Molulin Rouge tonight. Great musical
Eric Bowling
Masks and vaccinations or negative test required. Good for you, Keller. Keller is an awesome venue for shows! Go early, grab some good snacks and a drink - lobby does get a little crowded until they open the theatre doors.
A A
Nice experience. Audio was clear. Great place for events. The parking garage however did not have a working elevator. Walking three flights in heels was killer.
Renae Autrey
Had a great time at the Price is Right LIVE show!
Katherine Quinby
Saw Shen Yun tonight at Keller Auditorium. Box seat was perfect, able to see the show without having to look around heads in front of me. Good acoustics and sound quality. I highly recommend going to see the show, well worth it!
M W
Saw Shen Yun and the entire experience was fabulous. Loved that I could order a beverage ahead of time to pick up at intermission. Our seats and the view were fabulous. Helpful and friendly staff.
Grant Mcfeeters-Krone
Very big lots of seats. Line moves relatively fast. Seats were a bit small for tall people but what seat is big enough. Seats were comfy.
Susan Herman
Love the show's every time but the mask requirement..not a fan....nobody else requires except medical facilities not sure I will be back until masks lifted....i am about choice
Heather R.
They were really nice and accommodating to me since I'm in a wheelchair.
jacob james
Venue is big, has good sound. I would be extremely hesitant to buy tickets anywhere away from the center. HUGE lines for drinks. Merch is right up front and total chaos.
LEG
Wonderful auditorium with a deep history in Portland. Located right across from the great (but sometimes dry) Keller fountain.
Whitney Johnson
I love the stage and the acts that are brought to the Keller. I always have a wonderful night out at the theater. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly and there's really not a bad seat in the house. My only critique is of the sound quality. I think it may be the acoustics in general and not the sound system in particular but I often have trouble understanding the actors regardless of where I'm sitting. I have sat in orchestra, first and second balconies and no matter where I sit, it's always a bit difficult to understand the exact words during some songs. But it's still an amazing experience to attend a show here and if you get the opportunity, GO. It's a wonderful night out on the town!
Kally Shar
I've attended a few Broadway shows here and last night a comedian. I've yet to be upset at my seat's view. Tip: go up a level to have shorter lines for snacks, drinks, and bathroom! Attached is the view from aisle 6, row v, seat 8.
Wendie Hayes-Pounds
Enjoyed a great show. No bad seats in the entire place. The Keller Cafe is a great option for dinner before the show.
Steve Russell
Beautiful auditorium. Went to see Straight No Chaser.
CJ Daiker
They know how to move people in and out. Lighting and sound was great!
Curtis Nash
Love the Keller, always appreciate that they put on shoes my wife adores so I get to take her to her favorite acts. Amazing venue with extremely friendly and personable staff.
Rhitabrat Pokharel
I watch Carmen and it was amazing. Setup was so realistic.
Phillip Timmons
Portland's largest theater. The place for musicals and dance.
Becky Robertson
It was great but between hotel zags and the Keller we got COVID from our trip there .
Shari Person
From the front door to your seat you could feel the excitement from the people around you as well as the employees making sure you received the best experience.
Debra Payne
The play was very good except the ending! But even more important to me were the excellent safety features! Required vaccines with proof of ID, masks throughout the play, and spotlessly clean restrooms! Bravo to Keller!
Savannah O’Connor
I went to the Keller auditorium to see The nutcracker play. It was amazing The lines for the bathroom weren't that long. The play was really well thought out and very well decorated and it was overall very clean in the theater area. And they served drinks and alcohol and food and then they also had a little gift shop set up. Everyone there was really nice all the workers were very nice and polite and they were all had a smile on their face. Definitely a very nice place the dancers were amazing absolutely amazing. Definitely go watch one of their shows here I will definitely be there for sleeping beauty
Anthony Henderson aka Anton
Great acoustics!
Gustavo Jimenez
Great seats and the temperature is comfortable...
Marie Lee
Everything was perfect, except the crowd. When the doors opened, people started cutting in on others.
It's easy to see how someone could get injured or killed.
Uh, hello? There was assigned seating so no reason to push or shove. Maybe one or two peace officers along the line would help.
Hailey Dopke
Always an amazing time. The handicap accommodations were adequate and although the employees aren't terribly attentive, we do always get helpful service from the ushers. Been to the Keller Auditorium many times and it's still a great place to be. Seats are good sized and theater is always clean. Acoustics are fantastic as is the lighting. Highly recommend the Keller Auditorium. 5 stars.
Lesley Schelzke
Great event. The staff was very efficient with the new covid restrictions which I was dreading but it went by very quickly and the staff were friendly. As usual the facility is superb for concerts.
David Eakin
Always wonderful to watch the Oregon Ballet Theatre at Keller!
Jen
Great place for a concert! Not too big, sound was great.
Lisa Sarmiento
Despite the crowd, and checking IDs and vaccine cards, the line was very quick. Everything was clean and ran smoothly. Not sure why they just can't get more women's bathrooms. Seems like the mens are highly underutilized and one could be converted, just a thought.
Diane Collins
Went to see Shen Yun for our second time; first time in SF 2011.
B
Beautiful building. Get there early because they won't seat you after the show starts. But refreshments are cheaper then most venues in town.
Faith Wellman
Great venue for arts entertainment.. in Portland.
Cheryl Terrusa
Hamilton was amazing! The only reason four stars was chosen was the limited restrooms. There is room to put more womens stalls in the room with the mirrors.
Carole Moore
Saw Mockingbird. Had a great time. Good production, albeit, a tad long...
Summer Casey
The event staff are always really nice & helpful. The theater it's self is beautiful & has been amazing for the different styles of shows & plays! The underground orchestra pit gives off a wonderful sound yet doesn't obstruct or distract your view in any way.
Bror Okerblom
A+ venue and performers. I've only ever sat in rear orchestra, but the seats can be uncomfortable on your back for a longer performance. I will definitely come back with an extra pillow or jacket I can wedge for lumbar support.
Shawn Brink
Great show.
Rachel Cumley
The production was amazing! The staff, not so much. We had and witnessed several negative encounters throughout the evening that could have been handled with much more tact.
Lola Ball
The show was great the sound was perfect!
Emiliano Alonso
Great venue but not the best for a rock concert. Death Cab put on a good show.
Patty Cook
Concerts are always the best,
Although there are places that i do not feel safe in Portland, i know i will be fine here. .
We come from the coast for activities at this venue so we stay at a hotel nearby.
Vanessa Alexandra
Saw Incubus here in September 2019. Great venue, doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the place. Acoustics were good from our spot in the balcony. Multiple bars keep the drink lines short, but I the zigzag set up isn’t super conducive for those in a wheelchair. Overall a very nice venue and would definitely see a show here again.
Joshua Reeves
As a big man the seats were way too packed in and skinny. This is more of a personal issue though and doesn't reflect on the Keller Auditorium. The venue itself is convenient to get to and the staff were very friendly. Even though we were way off center I was able to enjoy the show and had an amazing time. Paying $5 for a bottle of water is boarding on criminal though, and $4 for drip coffee... I forgive the hustle but damn.
Debi Brockamp
It's an amazing venue, beautiful, clean, & nicely organized, with professional & friendly staff. I attend the Broadway plays & find the lighting & sound system top notch.
D. & M. Hinds
Beautiful auditorium. Went to see the Singing Christmas Tree. Seating was within the first 15 rows, bottom level, right side. The sound of the concert was great. Very well maintained, with lots of decorative elements to the auditorium. The balcony looked like it provides a great view of the stage. Unfortunately, the far right side seats did block the singers on the right side, blocked by the opened curtains and wall. No outside drinks allowed but they do have several options for getting drinks and snacks. Price is unknown but options did include alcoholic beverages. Overall great experience that I would happily do again.
Stacy Palmer
Always a great place to see a show.
Durant Fish
Plan on attending this location for the foreseeable future. The plays are always amazing
Tammy Herrmann (Sunshine)
We saw the Nutcracker! It was breathtaking. It took me back in time to when I sat in my daddy's lap and listened to the music. Some of my happiest childhood memories.
Daniel D'Souza
The chairs were quite comfortable, and the staff was quite helpful. Knocking off a star for the outrageous water prices.
Steve Asplund
The King and I Broadway musical was playing at the Keller Auditorium and it was a fantastic performance! Everyone near us loved it! The facility is large, with two balcony's and two side viewing balcony's. The sound carry and projects well. There is a pay parking garage across the street for your convenience too. Nice venue with great viewing.
Pam Howard
Located with easy parking and driving access. I only wish the arm rests were a little lower. Overall the acoustics, and general facilities were quite good
emily kernan
Love every show I've been to
Theresa Lawlor
Really good acoustics in this place. Comfortable seating.
Annika Lohrke
Excellent views and great performances 👏 …
AJ Simmons
Clean. Check in process was orderly, efficient. Must show vaccination card. Although seated in 2nd balcony, great seat. Staff was helpful
Julia Montoya
We went to a comedy show here and I have to say that I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. I have never been to an event here, but the auditorium is fantastic. The sound was great, it wasn't too loud or distorted which you run into a lot these days. There was also just one opening act which I loved also. It was great that there is a parking garage so close, so finding a spot is never a problem. I will really be excited the next time we have an event at this venue. Just a wonderful experience!
Christianna 4th best day ever.
The seating was smooth(a little bit of a tight fit),support staff members were hospitable and the views were all good.
Rachel Carina
They're doing a fantastic job with covid safety. Checking vax cards and/or negative tests within the previous 48 hours before letting people in, requiring masks when not eating or drinking, and reminding people to wear their masks properly.
William Butler
I completely enjoyed this venue. The ladies at items check desk, helped me with a seating situation... I'm a special needs person who could not sit in the chairs with arms,so they delivered a wider seat for my needs! Thanks so much for your time and consideration in this matter! By the way, this is a great place for sound and all seats are good!
M
Beautiful newer looking place acoustics are fantastic
Herb Brasington
Outstanding venue for all types of events. Masks are still required but vaccination status is no longer checked.
Patricia Brintnall
Just saw a matinee of WICKED. Great show. This is the third time I've sat in the first balcony and I really like those seats. I can see everything as well as hearing everything. Probably could use larger ladies rooms, but the lines moved along pretty well.
Justin Case
We always go to the singing Christmas that they have every year. This year was redone with the music and show. IT WAS AMAZING. The theater itself is always amazing. Tight seats, but they still keep this place very well maintained. People where helpful and very nice. See you again next year.
Amber Lynott
We have enjoyed a number of shows in this venue. It is rather intimate and well designed, such that there are very few bad seats. The style is a little dated (60's-ish) but the sound is good, and since we're there for the shows on the stage rather than the decor, we've never really minded.
Barb Jenson
Beautiful building. Exceptional waterfall feature across the street. We were on the second balcony. Had a great view of the stage. I am disabled; getting to our seats in the third row was steep and scary for me. Luckily I had my Significant Other to help. Did not know to go to the wall side to use handrail (usher showed us when we left - Thank you!). Restrooms easily accessible. There is an elevator. Quite a lovely place.
Isaac Thomas
My wife and I love the Keller for Broadway shows! The seating is perfect in terms of leg room for taller people and the shape of the theater allows us to see the stage from anywhere we are at. We have season passes that are extremely affordable and I recommend them if you even want to see 2 shows in a year, you'll be saving money with a season pass for good seating.
Charlotte Bryan
A beautiful theater space that hosts great productions! There is a parking garage right across the intersection and a couple places to eat right next door. The lobby is beautiful. The bathrooms are large with big mirrors and plenty of lights. Signed show posters also line the bathroom walls. The theater itself is spectacular and morphs into whatever the production needs it to be. I highly recommend attending a show at the Keller.
Jeffrey Stewart
Went here for the Aladdin play and loved it. There were a ton of kids but I didn't even notice they were watching. The venue is perfect and it's much recommended for the next play. Definitely worth the price. Only negative part is the bathroom size is tiny for the amount of people.
Linz#2 M. H.
Great venue, classic setting, helpful staff, very comfortable. Parking garage 1 block east super easy to access and short walk.
Bryna Hayden
We saw Mumford & Sons here. What a great show! The staging and lighting were gorgeous- and well handled by the facility. The stagehands pulled off the show with alacrity, while the front staff did an excellent job of helping us find our seats.
The show was wonderful, and it was definitely in great deal due to the hall. The seating was easy and comfortable, we could see everything even from the "cheap seats."
It looks and sounds great, here. Go see a show!
Leah
Easy to find and parking located right next to the auditorium for an easy walk. The inside is absolutely beautiful and our seats on the first balcony were great we were able to see and hear everything just fine. Only been here once for the nutcracker performance.
Jeremiah Thornton
This facility is very well kept, and has great organization. If you come to see something here, you will rarely be disappointed, and if you are, it may just be the performance. The ushers are very helpful, the concessions are pretty reasonable, and the variety offered all lend to a great experience. The seats aren't too worn either, so you shouldn't feel sore at the end of a show. Parking is nearby, and traffic is minor due to the street flow. This place is wonderful for any symphony, opera, ballet, musical, or any other show which may perform here.
Dustin Erdman
I am a season pass ticket holder for the Broadway in Portland series and have been for the last several years. We enjoy our trips to Keller immensely. While we have had the opportunity to attend events sitting in a variety of locations - balconies, box, and orchestra - we prefer our season pass seats in orchestra best. I can truthfully say, however, we have never had what we'd consider a 'bad' seat. Even when labeled 'obstructed view' we have not had any frustration.
Ticket prices vary on production and demand. Sound quality is top notch and the facilities are always clean and comfortable. I would recommend purchasing an aisle seat whenever possible as the rows are impossibly long and being in the middle may leave you feeling...trapped.
Ample parking at reasonable prices ($6 on show night) is available all around the immediate vicinity.
Justin F
Absolutely intimate venue. Wonderful atmosphere, resounding acoustics and very comfortable lower level seats worth the extra
Eric Woelker
It's a good venue for theater shows, though the sound could be better. I feel as though they need some speakers in the back as well. I've sat in a few different locations for a few different events and the further back you go the worse the sound is. Also, I went for Ali Wong this weekend and I feel like they really could have benefited by having some big screens on either side of the comedian so you could see her better. We were in the box level so we had decent seats, but even there it was hard to make her out on stage (or at least her expressions).
Kyle Blackman
I loved this venue. I went to watch comedian Bill Burr, and I had a great time. The seats were comfortable, the aisles were spacious, the acoustics were great! It's extremely close to garage parking. I'll definitely return for more venues!
R XP
The nutcracker itself was wonderful. We were worried about not getting in because we were running late but they seated at 7:40 for a 7:30 show so we made it. Drinks are as to be expected. 11 per wine. The only complaint was the comfort of the theater itself. The seats are probably the originals, as my back wasnt enjoying them to much. The air was hot and stuffy. All in all good show though.
Julie Mounts
This was a fantastic venue and my husband and I were happy to arrive, from out of state, for a wonderful show!
It was EXTREMELY cold and we (ticketholders) would have been much happier being held in the foyer area but the "ticket takers" refused access as we stood in a waiting area while the (people) line held the outer doors open. I think the staff could have made a more hospitable decision. (I was in a wheelchair recovering from an emergency surgery.)
Sung Kokko
We've been to many shows here over the years. I feel like there aren't any bad seats.
Paris Chantelle
It's the smallest stage I've ever seen a Cirque du Soleil show on, but it was still a fun show. The venue itself is nice, again a smaller stage than what I was expecting for the size of the building. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean, comfortable seating with good views.
Joseph Tucker
We saw an amazing performance there, Alice (in Wonderland), however we felt our $200+/pair seats were still with a poor view. We'll liked many of the services offered, like multiple concessions areas and bathrooms, ease of getting into and out of the theater quickly, and comfortable seating, however we'd probably consider other venues over this one because of the high cost and poor views.
Pops1122
This theatre is a perfect space for the Broadway Across America plays! I was a little hesitant because we got upper balcony seats in the center, but those seats were an amazing view of the entire stage, too. The stage space is huge, sound is amazing, and the seats are comfortable for the amount of time you're sittng in them. I can't wait for the next show... it'll be Wicked good!
Elliot Lisac
Very enjoyable venue for live music, theater, and other art performances. We've never been to a performance with bad sound quality or had problems with the facilities. With everything being assigned seating, live pop acts tend to feel a bit subdued as people are rarely out of their seats.
Shandon Sullivan
3,000 person music venue. Great historical place. Needs some upgrades but overall in hood condition.
Justa Person Talking to you
The Keller Auditorium is a cultural staple of the city of Portland, and a place to go to see some of the greatest performers from all over the world. I have been there many times and have enjoyed countless performances, plays, music and the like. The Keller was built in 1917 and was completely renovated in 1967, and so the building does show its age here and there. The isle going down to the Orchestra section is quite steep and I often wonder how folks who are a little unsteady on their feet make it down. The bathroom situation can be a little ridiculous and you have to be quite creative in order to be able to get a turn. I've seen the line go clear across the lobby at times. There is a big parking structure that sits kitty corner from the building, so that is very convenient and a real plus. All in all, the Keller Auditorium is a great place to go to see a performance.

Enjoyed ourselves , nice venue , friendly ushers
rebecca Horn
Always a nice venue. They've added an additional women's restroom in the lobby, which takes some of the stress off during intermission. Still LONG lines to use. Auditorium is very large, view good from most seats, acoustics good. Large lobby with wine, drinks, eats and items from whatever events is playing on sale. Parking available in lots of structures very close to the auditorium.
Scott Reilly
Amazing experience. The build is absolutely beautiful. The staff is helpful and polite. They serve alcohol, soda and food. Beware the prices are on the higher side. Also, most of the guests are dressed in formal attire. Note, that there is no dress code. You might feel a little out of place, but you're good. Had my first Opera here, and I can honestly say is was the best experience I could hope for. I'd highly recommend going. Also, if you want a alcoholic beverage do yourself a favor and get it from the center circle bars. The food/drive shops on either side pour one bottle into a plastic cup, while the center bar has them on tap.
L
The venue is nice in terms of seating and the theatre itself was built really well. Good views of the stage and great acoustics! So I guess they get 3 stars for at least getting all that right. That's the most important thing anyway, at a theater
.
It's the rest where this place misses the boat. The place seems run down, worn out and not updated anytime recently. Floors, bathrooms, overall decor all made me feel it waa old and tired.
.
The other part I didn't like was the fact that they had poor food options. The drink options were pretty good, at least the alcoholic drinks. Good selection of beer, wine and even cider. But very few decent food options. As near as I could tell, the only food offered is 3 different candies (Skittles, M&Ms, etc), a cookie, 3 varieties of kettle chips and soft pretzels (which were horrible, by the way). They did have a guy in a little kart serving roasted candied almonds. Those were amazing! But I wanted more real food options. Seemed pretty lacking in this department vs. other venues around.
.
The other thing that bugged me was the staff really seemed to want to push everyone out the doors ASAP, as soon as the show was over. We met friends there and wanted to catch up and discuss the awesome show we had just seen for give minutes after the show. But felt like we weren't welcome as they were sort of clearing the room and making us feel like we were holding them up. We got chased out of the theater and then tried to talk again in the lobby and same thing. So it was a bummer we couldn't just linger for a few minutes after the show without feeling like we were in the way.
.
Not the best venue in town, IMO. Needs improvements to really be a classy spot again. But the theater is really nice. So I can't rate it any worse than 3 stars, just for that reason.
Fraser Barnes
I went here to see Wicked, and it was amazing. The auditorium is huge, and every seat has a good view. The best seats are probably the ones at the back, because you get a great view, and you can be first to the bathrooms at intermission.
Scott McLaughlin
Wonderful place to see any show or performance. Staff is always good although sometimes short?
Prices for food and drinks here are pretty steep but the selection is always good. So be prepared for that.
We’ve seen some fantastic plays here they definitely bring in a wide selection so always check out their schedule!!
Asha Hawkesworth
This is a great venue for shows, largely because the seating is laid out well. On the concert floor, the grade is somewhat steep, but allows for better viewing in the back. The building is wheelchair accessible, and the balcony ADA seating is quite good. The view from there is terrific.
Jun Burgin
I've gone to a few shows here and every time I've had a clear view and a comfortable seat. Anywhere on the ground floor is good seating, and the first balcony has some good views, too. Can't vouch for the upper balconies.
Brea Beyrouti
The people who work here are so knowledgeable and friendly. It's a beautiful place. I love seeing shows here
Ramvira
Just saw Eddie Izzard and it was a wonderful show. I enjoy Keller and any show I see here. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Tip: If you need to sit while waiting for the doors to open for orchestra seating grab a spot by the elevator. There's almost always a seat available.
Shay McCaw-Weigel
If you are above the second mezzanine, you feel like you are a mile away, but it's still a pretty good view for a live show. Drinks and food are massively overpriced, and the selection is okay (though they often run out of things), so be full and well loaded by the time you get here, if that's important to you.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and seating in central waiting areas are very comfortable. They have a swanky martini lounge on the third floor, which is worth a look and trying an overpriced cocktail, if just once, for the view of the Keller fountain across the street.
Cathleen Manseau
Love seeing shows at this auditorium! They have updated the bathrooms a bit so the line moves faster. I do wish they had some sort of hand rails going down the steps in the seating area.
Tracy Sands
Comfortable and a good variety of shows. Not enough restrooms, though; expect long lines at intermissions. Great fountain outside in front of the building but doesn't run during winter. Several parking structures within 1 to 4 blocks of the auditorium.
Samantha Will
Nice to be back. My first time seeing a musical since the pandemic started. I really appreciate how careful they were about checking that your covid immunization card matched my ID.
AJ Padron
Great staffing for the show I saw, kind and welcoming! Bathroom left a bit to be desired, and they felt a little pushy to get us out after the show. All in all a pleasant experience! Sound was lovely.
JohnHenry Bootzin
Good acoustics. Poor sight lines for the theater production we saw. But the WORST; tickets were double booked, we had to leave the seats we were in, 20 minutes into the show, (bought reserved seats tickets, online). It took another 10 minutes for managers to locate other seats for us. And then they were off to the side, and we could not see a quarter of the stage!
meagan mceachern
Great venue for many different occasions. Just came here for a comedy show and had such an amazing time.
Barbara Furlong
Season tickets for Broadway in Portland make for great date nights throughout the year. We enjoy the Keller Auditorium very much. Staffed with incredibly nice people! Several bars throughout help to decongest refreshment lines. Other than the usual lack of enough ladies rooms at intermission it is a surprisingly smooth experience.
Mikel Farley
Great venue, great production value, and the staff are refreshingly helpful. Always a pleasure to attend events here.
Pam Wink
The Keller is a really wonderful place to see plays. I like the new policy on bringing in your drink as long as it's covered. They need to do a better job of posting prices on beverages. They also absolutely should be changing all the toilets to low flow. It's outrageously wasteful for Portland's premier auditorium. Also the line for the women's restrooms was quite long. Somehow everyone got through just in time
That said, the play was wonderful, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. It's a treat to be able to have such wonderful shows to see.
Ted CasioCalculatorWatch
This large auditorium is nicely situated in the middle of Portland. The sraff were friendly and the facilities (restrooms) were clean and plentiful. The performace we experienced was amazing with no problems from the sound or lighting systems.
The seat angle was a little too shallow for me as a taller person in front of me very much obstructed my view.
We had no trouble finding parking and exiting the area after the show was a breeze.
zander smith
Saw Wicked and it was amazing. The venue id gorgeous and the auditorium itself is great.
Jeffrey Trull
It's a good theater overall, but I think some things about how they manage it could be better. For one, most or all of their beer is not from locally-owned breweries, which bothers me. We have so many great breweries here in Portland, and I think supporting the arts goes hand-in-hand with supporting local businesses.
Some of their policies around food and drink are a bit annoying too. I've had friends be hassled for wanting to carry in food leftover from dinner right before the show (even though they have no plans to eat it there). And I always see people being told they can't bring in bottled water either.
C Piltz
Good location. Not a bad seat in the house really.
Christina D
We went to see Hamilton. The sound in the auditorium was perfect for the play and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Svetlana N
This a nicely designed theater. I have been here several times and have had seats in different areas every time; I don't recall ever having a hard time seeing the stage besides one time when an unusually tall long-torsoed man was sitting directly in front. I have enjoyed each outing and look forward to seeing more shows!!!! I do wish they had an easier-to-navigate website as I sometimes get lost trying to figure out what shows may be coming up.
chantz thilmony
Well the talent was amazing. The staff was super sweet and the long lines at consession went fairly fast. The seats are a little dated and small and if they're going to allow drinks in the theatre they need cupholders- full hands stop people from clapping!
Ken Miller
Super venue for music. There are no bad seats. We were in the last row of the second balcony and could see and hear just fine.
I am disabled and was greatly assisted to my seat by a friendly usher.
Richard Egger
Great stage, staff and shows! Excellent easy parking nearby and usually quick to get in this place. Only reason for four (4) stars is the need for additional bathrooms - or another set on South side of building, & the lobby gets very difficult to maneuver in as it is somewhat narrow. Overall, I highly recommend Keller🙂 1st class performances✔✔✔
Alyssa Pollard
Beautiful theater and very helpful staff. Good variety of drinks. Yes they are a little more speedy but that is to be expected at locations such as these with the various events they hold. The auditorium itself is very spacious, comfortable, and the acoustics are wonderful.
Gayfee Garcia
Decent auditorium to watch a concert. The bar lines are a bit long and unorganized. It gets pretty packed so I would recommend getting drinks before the show since there's no reentry allowed.
Erin Black-Mitchell
The sound is good for concerts, but so so for traveling Broadway shows. Don't have to many beverages before or during the show though, the restroom lines are brutal. They could do away with half of the women's lounge and add a few additional stalls and it would help a lot!
Gab
I saw a musical here and a speaker series here. The venue itself is nice, with nice bathrooms (never enough women's bathrooms though, am I right?!). I really wish they had better food and drink options (like not just candy, cookies, or pretzels). The general public of Portland would be eager to have healthier, heartier options, I think. Otherwise, great auditorium! Everyone who works there is really helpful and friendly!
Michael Boyles (Mike)
The Keller has easy access, reasonably designed seating, lots of beverage bars, restrooms and lobby spaces. Unfortunately the acoustics are poor to fair only for any spoken word performances and some music presentations so a challenge to enjoy fully.
Jason Talks
Delightful auditorium with comfortable seating. Plentiful concessions and drinks and polite staff to help you have a wonderful evening. Whether you're here for an event, a ballet, or just got roped into something you're guaranteed to have a wonderful evening.
Emily Mullins
We attended a performance of The Nutckacker Ballet on Sunday at Keller Auditorium. It us a lovely venue, just the right size, not overly large. Getting seated was easy, there were no ling lines and the staff was friendly and professional. My only concern is that the women's restrooms only accommodate a few at a time. It was difficult to locate the line and once found it was very long and slow. We had to rush to get back to our seats on time.
Emma-kate McCord
My daughter and I saw the Nutcracker here. We could see really well from our seats. It is a very nice theater.
Corwin Brence
I saw Jethro Tull: The Rock Opera here some weeks ago. The show was magnificent, but this review is about the auditorium. I found the layout a bit confusing, and the event staff weren't especially helpful (my party had to ask three different people where our seating area was). The seating is arranged on a very steep slope that is difficult to get up and down if you've recently suffered any ankle injuries, and getting in and out of the seating row stands a chance of causing said injuries if you're not paying attention.
Architecturally, though, the Keller is especially attractive, and the acoustics and stage accommodations are just fine for a good rock opera. I just wasn't too keen about the experience off the stage...especially the locations of the bathrooms, difficult to find, let alone reach, with all the crowds.
Shayna Roberti
I have been here many times to see different broadway shows that come to town and I love it here. The front lobby area can get really crowded as its not a super large space. Their prices for food and drink are expensive but i always expect this when i go to shows or concerts.
davetrek42
Always go to a show here after eating at Morton's Steakhouse, (Which is fabulous) right across the street. Even though the entrance is small, they manage foot traffic well, so you never feel too claustrophobic.
The bar is well stocked, and the staff is always very friendly. Wait time for the restrooms is a little long during intermission, but that's normal for a venue like this.
All in all, a great time, as long as you plan ahead. Parking in downtown Portland can be limited or frustrating, so it's safest to budget for one of the nearby parking garages.
Catherine Caruso
Great location, plenty of parking nearby (we were there for Hamilton - $6 event parking in the garage across the street wasnt even close to full, or you can walk 4-5 blocks from just about every MAX line). Decent selection of food and beverage choices in concessions. Our seats were near the back, they were comfortably spaced, and we still had a clear view of the stage. One quibble - more women's restrooms, please - and on both sides of the lobby! All in all, this isn't one of those gilded, antique art deco music box theaters - but it's still an excellent place to see a show and fat less stressful to get in and out of than similar theaters in many other cities.
Glen D
Beautiful, has a reatarant now on the balcony level that has a nice view of Keller Park, a full bar upstairs and downstairs, great views from any seat in the theater. Bathroom is ridiculously full between sets so make your business ahead of time. Parking across the street to the north is the best and most convenient. McCormick and Schmidt is about five blocks away for good drinks and dinner ahead of the show
scott s (Norcal831)
Saw Hamilton there was amazing.
Grayson Gersten
Saw a concert here and loved the experience. The staff was very helpful and kind. The sound was great and seats comfortable. The fountain across the street is amazing and a great place for pictures!
rc battey
Have seen a few shows here. A very grand theater. You can dress up or just come in jeans and a t-shirt. Employees are very helpful and nice. Buying tickets online is easy and the pictures from various places in the auditorium is useful in knowing before hand your vision of the stage.
Mike Beaty
Wonderful place to see plays or enjoy a concert. Excellent acoustics! Most seats, have an outstanding view of the stage. Often it is very crowded getting to your seats & exiting the building.
Dave Proffitt
I went to a concert there a couple of weeks ago. tThe only thing I didn't like about it was that there's not enough leg room from the seat in front of you if hou are 6' or taller. The seats were fairly comfortable, the auditorium is huge and does have balconies.
oscar nowell
The music sounds great!! It's small but not too big, if that makes sense. Lots of bars so people go to all floors. They're on opposite sides. Good prices for drinks. I loved it there. BTW I saw Interpol and it was great!!!!
Joseph Langley
The Nutcracker was a wonderful experience I strongly suggest you see the show at least once...it's suitable for all, ages and you will remember it for the rest of your life!!!
Margaret Kreder
Always love seeing shows here, good venue. Getting the dinner before the show is convenient and adequate, but the food quality isn't always worth the price tag. Everything is fairly accessible for those who need it and the ushers are polite and ready to help.
Ashley Garcia
It's beautiful inside. Parking is hard to find, as most shows are fully booked but there are a few parking garages. There is also street parking if the odds are in your favor. They have cinnamon nuts for sale at most shows. Cash only, but they are delicious. They also have assisted devices for hard of hearing but you have to leave your driver's license with them. If you need one, make sure you get your booze first so you can leave your ID without regret. They are free however.
Michele Berg
The theater is very nice, and handicap accessible. They have a great variety of shows there every year, and have the Broadway Across America series there. My only issue, esp. with BAS, is their lax ticket policy that makes it very, VERY easy for scalpers to rip you off. All they have to do is sell the tickets to someone else, then contact the box office and they will just email them replacement e-tickets, which they then turn around and sell again. It doesn't matter that you have the actual, verified, original tickets, if the e-ticket people go in first, you're out of luck.
Ellie Argyris
This theatre is so amazing! Too be down by the stage and look around the view is astonishing!! I'm looking forward to another trip to Oregon for any performance played here it's that amazing!! Went to a Lindsey Stirling performance here and the out come was great!!! Beautiful waterfalls across the street to check out while waiting!
Phil V
Clean, friendly staff, ample seat room and inexpensive parking close by. I watched the show, Hamilton at the Keller Auditorium. I found the staff working there very friendly, approachable and willing to help with directions, seating, food and beverages as well as just general conversation about their opinion on the show.
The seats were comfortable and not terribly roomie but I am 6' 2" and a large man, heavyset, my knees did not hit the seat in front of me and I had my own arm rest as I recall and didn't seem too cramped bumping into my neighbor on either side of me.
I sat in the first balcony and though I could see the stage and make out the characters I would advise bringing a set of binoculars for best viewing. Keller Auditorium also offers for any guests, not just those hard of hearing, and audio earpiece with simple to use volume up and down controls that is battery operated and rechargeable. My neighbor was using one and said that it helped immensely in hearing the lyrics and the actors as well as the live orchestra. There is a deposit and I believe it's either your ID, or financial deposit I'm not sure which. When the unit is returned in good working condition your refunded.
I parked across the street on the Southside of the building for $5 in the parking garage. There was no shut off time or lockout time to pick up my vehicle after the show is over. I ask the attendant and he told me that I was able to pick my car up without further charge until the next business day when they open which I believe, was about 6 a.m.
Shane LoGreco
Great venue. Seen plays & concerts and I’ve never been disappointed. FYI Hamilton was amazing.
Ashley Hartmeier-Prigg
Awesome venue for concerts and plays. The lobby is much too small however for all of the things that are going on before the show and during intermission. The do allow you to preorder your intermission drink which is pretty nice, but its so crowded in the lobby you are almost as good to not leave your seat!
Amanda Jenkins
This place is great. Not really a bad seat in the place . I've been coming since I was a child and now I get to bring my children. The cookies at intermission are always our treat, however they were sold out on the first balcony within the first few customers. They need to stock up a little better.
Veriel VanRijn
I absolutely love coming here to see the Broadway shows. We have season tickets and sit near the orchestra in the section reserved for the hard of hearing, where we can see the interpreters. It is wonderful that we can see interpreters as well as the show. Even the shows that fall a little short of excellent are still a joy to watch live. Keller didn't get 5 stars only because the auditorium seating is so steep to navigate the aisles, and as we loyal show watchers grow older, it's getting harder for us to make that climb after the show. Perhaps Keller could invest in a chair lift along one side of the auditorium to help those who need it. We will keep buying those session tickets if they do!
Joseph Colton
I enjoy watching performances at the Keller Auditorium. The place is very nice and large and can host amazing performances.
Bob Johnson
Kind of a non-descript auditorium. Drink prices reasonable. Eat before you come - they only have light snacks. Seems like there is not a bad seat in the house, though the uppermost balcony seemed pretty far. Plenty of parking nearby. Was visiting from Baltimore and decided to go see Interpol at last minute - glad I did!
Elijah Houle
I love going here for shows - Broadway, music, improv comedy! It's cozy, and everyone working here is awesome and helpful (in my experience).
Julie Doumbia
Always excellent shows, does not disappoint! Lots of parking options for evening for $5 nearby (cash only). Pretty crowded inside, long lines for restrooms, but it's the quality shows that really set Keller apart, we always have a great time!
Kerry-Lynn Fifield
Solid venue with good access to parking options. However the theater itself is quite dated in appearance and functionality. Additionally the acoustics are sorely lacking. I did enjoy an outstanding performance of the Portland Opera here, however it was difficult to not be disappointed by the challenges of the acoustics, despite my exceptionally close proximity to the stage.
BJ Pruit
Not really a bad seat in the house, though the seats are a little narrow. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the cafe/restaurant was not open before the performance. We went extra early thinking we would have dinner as well. Overall, we had a very nice time.
B Reed
We had 4 tickets to see Eddie Izzard. I called to request a wheelchair for my disabled wife. Not only did Valerie and Michael set up the wheelchair, but when they found out that my wife is disabled they upgraded our seats to better provide easier access. What a WONDERFUL gesture. Thank you so much. I'm sure we'll enjoy the show even more.
will b
Show was great. Whoever ran the line for the entrance/ security was really bad. They didn't know about things security should know and people didn't get in on time
Randy McCartney
Very nice old style Auditorium. Excellent acoustics and comfortable seating with adequate leg room.
Don B
Keller Auditorium is an outstanding venue for live performance and their presentation of "Straight No Chaser" a capella music was no exception. Friendly staff and very comfortable seats. Lots of parking for a reasonable fee in numerous covered garages within a 1minute walk. Easy access from I-405.
Karen Rasmussen
Saw Shen Yun there. It was great.
emely p.
Awesome! The lights are fanstastic and there is so many seats. Much bigger than many Broadway theatres. I went yesterday and was awesome. You can even get food, wine, and gifts here!
K K
You can see the stage from any purchased tickets except for a few seats at the sharp angles or against the walls .
Judith Moore
No bad seats except for a few near columns on the floor. Shows need to check their sound connections with existing system.
Chris Califf
Very nice. "To Kill a Mockingbird" was amazing.
Kathleen Anson
I saw the Flaming Lips here, and the atmosphere was terrific. The dress circle seats are great - I think the balcony might be a bit high for a show like that, you would be "out of the action" The mixed drinks were good, especially after showing a little kindness to the harried bartenders.
Anthony Winner
This is the perfect large event venue. Comfy seats that are well maintained, very few bad viewing seats, a staff second to none, and there are several dinning venues close by that will compliment any event there. Lots of parking close by, but if your do park in one of the close by garages, a bit of a tip, hang out in the Keller for 15 - 20 minutes and let the garage empty out. Also think about your route home, its best to not have to go by the Keller on the way out, pedestrians will fill the streets for several blocks on the way to their parking, keeping those driving by at a standstill.
Brayton Kerekffy
By far, the nicest auditorium in Portland. So clean and professional. Very small for big plays/musical but has the advantage of being affordable enough for local things to be held there too. Overall no complaints and highly recommended.
Alan Davison
Great place with good acoustics. Eat and drink before you arrive, a bottle of water was $4!
Tami Danielson
Really an excellent venue. Saw "Wicked" there, and had a perfect view from the balcony. Temperatures were well-controlled, but just a tad warm. Great job!
samm 8988378
This was my first time attending anything at the Keller Auditorium. We saw The Book of Mormon. There could have been problems, but Portland 5 and Keller Auditorium staff made the experience trouble-free.
One of our party was in a wheelchair, and we were having problems locating wheelchair seating at the online ticket resellers site. In frustration I left a message and Keller staff quickly returned my call. They gave me a number to call Portland 5, and seating was quickly obtained.
At the play, Keller staff was quick and efficient, as well as friendly. Beer, wine and cider are available. Not only can you take your drink to your seat but you can pre-order, and have your food and drink waiting for you!
I'm not sure whether it's Keller Auditorium, The Book of Mormon road company or both, but they do a wonderful, charitable thing. We were outside during the intermission and spoke to a student. He told us about the raffle. Before the show starts, there's a place to sign up for a raffle. If your name is drawn you can have one of twenty-five front row orchestra seats for $25.00! The student was one of the forty people who had signed up for tonight's raffle, decent odds. They could have sold these seats for $250-300 each, but chose to make the arts an affordable experience. That's such a good, caring thing to do!
Denise Lee
It's a great venue, well placed, but the lobby is tiny and it's too warm inside the stage area. The ballet was great, though. Acoustics are awesome.
Barbara Young
I attend the Opera there. Sometimes the Ballet. Acoustics are good. Very comfortable seats in the ADA section. There is a snack counter and also a pleasant bar.
This is an outstandingly accessible Opera. Reader boards translating to English from language in which Opera is performed. Performances are also plays...good acting, excellent music, I love the scenery...etc etc. You go!
Luis E. S Lezama
Wonderful place mariachi concert was amazing
Jen Dadek
Good acoustics and comfy seats
David Chatman
Keller is one of my favorite places in Portland! Fantastic customer service and and always a friendly smile to be had by pretty much any employee you meet there. They plan well for their events and even though the bathroom lines are long, if you plan accordingly, you'll always be alright. Whether it's Broadway or ballet, you'll never go wrong! So grab some tickets and enjoy yourself!
Matthew Sevier
All in all a nice place to watch an event/show. In the bigger scheme of things and the surrounding Portland area, I would have to give this 5 stars in comparing with all other venues in the area, well inside a 175.5 mile radius (Seattle). I have read the other reviews and they are missing the bigger picture. Keller has all that you need to fulfill your theater experience. See a show here while keeping in the back of your mind, you are not in Manhattan.
Lori Hahn
Beautiful building but concessions of course were outrageously priced as expected, not enough of them the line was literally from one end of the lobby to the other.
Colette Adelman
One of my favorite venues. There's not a bad seat and the sound is good.
J BB
What a great venue. The sound in this building is incredible. I hope to see more shows here.
keri wyckoff
Went to the Singing Christmas Tree!!! Amazing!!! THANK YOU
bobbo103 marquette
This place was originally designed for perfect acoustics. Well, that hasn't changed. Being older and having compromised hearing, I can really appreciate the design!
Dustin Dahognawho
Nice venue. All seats seem like good seats in this place
susie gaylord
It was wonderful I'll have to check on the next show.
Nicholas Parkin
The overall venue was nice. But everything about the staff and ownership was medium to low par. There is no actual restaurant, instead you'll get a makeshift buffet with crappy knock off food at 25 dollars per person. The restrooms were as clean as a gas station restroom. And seeing Phantom of the Opera in this facility actually took away the enigmatic, operatic, and magical feel to the musical. Poorly done Keller. Poorly done. I will most likely never see anything here ever again.
Kelly Witbeck
First time at the Keller seeing Tom Segura. Great seats in the balcony but there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Usher staff were very helpful. Easy to get in and out, garage parking available nearby.
Jean Lorenz
Acoustics could be better, but we thoroughly enjoyed the Plat nonetheless.
Benji Akre-Hill
This is not a review of the artists or shows which appear at this venue. The venue of is desperately in need of a face-lift. The staff are always kind, which is what saved this place from two stars. If, IF the concessions on your level are being served, prepare to wait for the length of intermission. And right before you head back to your seat, be sure to take out a second mortgage for that sippy cup of wine and often stale cookie. And six (?) bucks for a bottled water? I think Broadway might be cheaper.
Karen Gale
Just saw "Les Miserables" and came out in tears. Good tears. Standing ovations that wouldn't quite. So appreciate a venue that brings in such quality entertainment and provides a setting that can accommodate that quality. Entry into the venue was easy, even through the crowd.
L G
Easily accessible location with parking nearby, but I usually take and Lyft/Uber, easy and fast. I did find the transients a little bothersome, but I just kept moving and ignored them. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of restrooms on different floors so if one floor has a line, try another floor. The seats are comfortable and allow for a little bit of legroom, much more than the Schnitz. The attire depends on the show but it's mostly dress casual, jeans with a nice shirt would be fine. I would recommend seeing a couple of shows here and getting a ride to the door, safer that way.
Nick Feola
For being in the city that it's in, it has done a good job with accessibility. Great seats for the great show I watched, Daniel Tiger. Great and helpful staff as well. Bathrooms are a little different but not bad. Overall a good place to see the shows you are looking to see.
Claudia Fuentes
I saw the Nutcracker here and I really enjoyed the venue. The place is clean and cozy. The seats i had were in the balcony, but I was about to enjoy all the action on stage. The line for drinks is a little long, but the venue was lovely!
Bud Hayes
Great setting, but they decided not to install the 42 seats in the orchestra pit, 5 of which were mine. Front row center for Brit Floyd (good lord they are SO good) went to 6 rows further back. NOT COOL!!!
m Anderson
We love Keller, but OBT Dracula could have been so much more! Ie, a modernization would have rocked the house. As it was, meh.
douglas lewis
Good venue for a play, haven't been thrilled with the sound for big concerts
Pamela Didier
Love Keller Auditorium - every seat has a great view. Parking garages all around area.
Tinky Weed
Great venue. I like how they broadcast the event out in the halls and the bathrooms (awesome for when you're getting a drink or taking a pee break).
Even the nose bleed seats aren't horrible.
Seat size is adequate...but I'd hate to sit next to someone who's 300+ lbs, they'd be spilling over into your seat and taking up elbow room.
Concession prices are around the same price as a movie theater.
It's a little chilly, so you may want to bring a jacket if you tend to be sensitive to chilly environments.
Joe Riztastic
Excellent space, and killer performances.
Tracy Turner
Fabulous venue! Great acoustics. Always a treat.
Wesley Knitter
Great venue but concessions pitiful compared to similar venues. Suggest enlisting food trucks before/beginning of performance for those of us coming directly from work. The sandwich place next door closed at 6:30 and besides Morton's we were told closest place was 2 blocks away (from security).
Krystal Rogers
Amazing building! Though I wonder if they could do something to improve the bathroom situation at intermission time.. And more allergen free/vegan options in the snack vendors would be great. This is a progressive city, after all.
Christine Laurins
Nice Atmosphere, small venue makes for more intimate and personal show. I like it!
Kiki Larue
What a beautiful theater. Every seat is a good seat. Plenty of ushers to help. Clean restrooms.

Beautiful place! Probably partially due to them not allowing beverages without tops into the theater. 😁 Yes, you read that right, you'll be drinking your wine or beer thru a straw if a cup with a lid on it. Anyway, once you get used to that, the place is great. …

Loved the production of the play last night. Stood in line to use the bathroom on the north side of the building. It was a single stall/room serving handicapped/men/women. There is only one mens full service (more than one stall) bathroom on that side. Talked with women in line. Most of us never got close to being able to use. Suggestion: install Full Service women bathrooms on both sides of auditorium.
