Great place to walk in the woods so close to the city. You'll feel like you're out in the wilderness but on a easy to walk trail. Love how many trees are labelled so you know what you are looking at. The bamboo forest is pretty neat. Not that hard to access with transit using either the bus and the park shuttle, or just taking the MAX Red or Blue Line to the zoo station and walking down.

Beautiful natural oasis close to the city. Entry is free and you only pay for parking if visiting by car, which is $2 an hour or $8 max a day. We walked the redwood trail which takes about an hour and only went back to the car because it started to rain. Highly recommend this trail as the enormous trees are awe inspiring.

So many trails to choose from! A little muddy in spots, I would suggest wearing hiking boots. Only walked through a portion of the trails on the west side of the visitor center building. For some fun interesting sights, grab the kids adventure map in addition to the full map. We saw a tree hit by lightning 40 years ago. Also, Hank (a visitor guide with arboretum) is great with tips and directions!!!

Great variety of trees and paths (even shortcuts) to take. You can take an hour and a half and see the vast majority of the park, or take three or four and not be bored or going in circles. There is plenty of parking, and some good views (not of downtown). Very family-friendly... Saw a toddler walking through.

Magnificent arboretum! Huge collection of trees, great volunteers, endless paths and trails. Pay for parking. Visitor center and store with bathrooms. Picnic areas and covered pavillion. Some paths are ADA accessible, many are not.

You can join Washington park and see the Rose Garden and play tennis !

Beautiful hiking trails through a variety of different trees and shrubs. We especially loved the redwood observation deck. Trails are well maintained and well marked. You could spend an entire day here.

This place is so huge and beautiful. We spent about two hours here and could have spent more. Remember to bring water and it’s kind of a hike, I have vertigo so some places were pretty steep but I have never done really steep hikes so I feel like it was a good starter.

Folks should know that the trails are easy to walk (lots of small hills and valleys) and that this "living tree museum" is designed to provide color and interest in all seasons (for winter it's holly berries and camellias; in the spring the magnolia blossoms are incredibly showy). Make sure you stop and take time to explore/look around: I thought a tree had been carved into and my husband pointed out that it was insect activity - so cool. And, you can park pretty much anywhere in the park - but obey the signs and leave ZERO that's valuable in your car Thieves are pretty common and they've smashed windows even in crowded spaces, so just beware so that you can enjoy yourselves.

Peaceful place for an east walk or hike with kids or family. It is nice and serene and the trees provide a wonderful cool place to explore nature. I definitely suggest this place if you want a good quick hike with young kids.

beautiful area. lots of trails with clear signage -- from a 30 min loop to a 2 hour loop, there's something for everyone. the area we parked in didn't have many spots, but we were able to find parking easily due to it being a wednesday morning.

Dog-friendly place with affordable to free parking throughout. The visitor center has restrooms, a small gift shop, and printed maps. Trails are well marked with trail names, directional arrows, and milage. Plenty to explore for a couple hours to a full day. I've never seen so many species of holly before. The mountain viewpoint is great, but we could only see bits as it was very cloudy. The Bamboo garden is a don't miss. Would recommend.

What a great urban escape! So much space you feel you have the area to yourself! Plenty of benches to stop and take in the natural landscapes and soundscapes. Long trails and short trails to meet your needs! Definitely worth a stop!

theres a free shuttle that ends at 7pm. if you miss it you can take the max which is portlands train service. however i do recommend doing some trip planning if youre not driving since some of the areas are pretty far apart and it can feel a little scary to not have a plan after the sun is setting. the rose garden was stunning and so was the aboretum. i recommend bringing hiking shoes for the arboretum as some parts of the trail were pretty slippery.

Fantastic Arboretum! Love all of the plant/tree identification/info. They have trees from all over the world and there are benefits to visiting in all seasons. My personal favorites are the magnolias in Spring and the Redwoods any time of year!

Parking is cheap at $8 for the day or $2 an hour. Every trail is worth seeing. There are restrooms and a gift shop at the parking lot.

I love this park! It is such a great place to explore! I am a professional photographer and they have beautiful weddings and it is also a great place for portrait sessions. Whatever your reason for visiting, just make sure you go!

The best arboretum I've visited - such an incredible variety of trees from around the world, all planted throughout several gorgeous trails. The layout of Hoyt creates an immersion experience where you are truly surrounded by the quietness of the woods despite being in the middle of the city. Many trilliums, blackberries, and ferns line the trails while tall redwoods, oaks, firs, and spruces cast their long shadows over dirt paths. You can focus on exploring one type of tree by sticking to a single trail, or connect trails together to see more variety. There is something for everyone here, whether you are interested in learning about plants, birding, or just taking a break from the business of city streets. I highly recommend visiting - often if you live here :)

Great hikes with varying difficulty and length all from a good home base. The staff were nice. Kid and dog friendly. I'd stay by the overlook trail if you have any wheels since the stroller walk had a few roots, inclines, and width issues. Restrooms were clean enough with soap, water, paper towels, and LOTS of toilet paper.

The trails are clearly marked and there’s a great map at the visitors center and website (also in photo below). If you are new, the 30-minute, 1-hour or 2-hour trails are perfect (I recommend starting with the 1-hour trail). The thing that makes this place special is they have trees from all over the world. Hiking in the PNW is great, of course, but it can feel like if you’ve seen one trail you’ve seen them all. There is a lot of variety at Hoyt. Other things I like are that the trails are easy, with minimal elevation, and even in summer it is mostly quiet and uncrowded. In addition to the trees, there are some pretty flowers in the spring and summer. I haven’t been in winter but I imagine it’s cold and wonder how many leaves are out. Another thing to keep in mind is the trails are labelled with times that give plenty of time for stopping and looking. The 2-hour trail for instance is only 1.25 miles.

Beautiful array and diverse tree groups, with charming fairly well worn gravel paths. The trails are a bit narrow at points for wider folks. Parking is very limited and many choose to park along the gravel shoulder. Park at your own risk. Remember there are no bathrooms or drinking fountains along the trails so go before you go and bring water. The smaller fence signs we found confusing, with fewer benches than we would have liked. However the woods and peaceful paths are utterly remarkable, considering just how close to the city center the arboretum resides. The absolute crown jewel of Portland nature walks and trails.Its worth the hassle of parking and perilous peak times path sharing.

As an arborist.. I get to go play in the trees at the Arboretum one day a year, and volunteer with lots of other local arborists to help preserve and take care of Portland's living museum of trees. If you happen to be walking the trails on this sacred day... please.. enjoy the show! And take time to appreciate the trees around you. Another beautiful day to be an arborist in the arboretum!.. cleaning up dead limbs and reducing hazards. So feel free to walk through this amazing place and know you're safe!

Park of the Washington Park area, and adjacent to Forest Park. Paved walking trails, an interpretative center, and lots of nice views. For more Park like amenities like picnic tables and playground, go to Washington Park, for more hiking trails, Forest Park is the best bet. But here, if you're interested in a short walk or seeing collections of rare and interesting plants, the Arboretum is a nice middle ground.

This is another special park on the must visit list if you have a bit of time in portland. There are hiking trails originating from here and extending into forest park . You can rent the pavilion, which is stunning, for an afternoon event ( like a wedding!) for a nominal cost (considering the setting!). Park at the visitor center across the street and stop in to say hello.

Tons of trails to hike and run! If you are new to this area, navigating the trails can be a little daunting, so pay close attention to the little trail signs. I really appreciate how comprehensive and clear these signs are, they are at almost every intersection (though sometimes pretty small) so once you know which trail you want to follow or turn to, it's not that easy to get lost. Great spot in Washington Park. For here you can go north to check out the redwood observation deck and cross Burnside to climb up to Pittock Mansion; or go south to the Vietnam Veteran memorial and Oregon Zoo.

A Beautiful forest not far from downtown. I loved this place. It was not a stroll with trees around lawns like I was used to in other cities. Instead, there are many paths through forests; you can choose an easy, quick path or a moderate path for varying amounts of time. The paths are well marked according to which trees or shrubs you'll encounter. I highly recommend the path to the redwood deck. It was magical and awe-inspiring.

There is an impressive diversity of tree species and a real depth in the educational signage and resources throughout the arboretum. The visitor center staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the gift shop was small but well stocked. Bathrooms, water, and free trail maps were available.

The Hoyt is a magical museum of trees within walking distance of downtown Portland. 12 miles of trails will take you through a magnificent collection of magnolia trees, a redwood forest, a winter garden blooming year round, maple trees with amazing autumn color. Beautiful place. The lady in the visitor center was over-the-top friendly. As a none hiker, the map was hard to follow on our own, however if you kept moving you were going to hit a post telling you exactly where you were at. Have the say throughout the arboretum if you felt lost, the path to get back to the visitor center was very clear. Paid for 2 hour parking.

This area of town is one of the most wonderful to visit in Portland. The air is filled with pine smell and the numerous trails around make this natural space exceptionally fun and peaceful. You can enjoy a picnic with your family while enjoying the great views, meditate by one of the enormous trees, or come to hike for a while—a great workout! It is just amazing how close you are to the city but at times as you walk around you can’t even notice it.

200 acres of gorgeous walking trails featuring dozens of species of trees by trail - the redwood trail, the fir trail, and the magnolia trail are personal favorites. Fairly easy hiking, and family friendly! I pushed my toddler in a stroller all over the park without much difficulty. The paths are generally smooth. Excellent spot to exercise! After the first time, I went back the next two days in a row because I had to see all the trails! Also a great spot to birdwatch.

While we only walked a small portion of this beautiful park, we were blown away by the beauty! So many incredible trees and we loved seeing the last of the stunning fall colors. We were also there on the Veteran’s / Remembrance Day weekend and the memorial was reflective and fitting.

The Hoyt Arboretum is a lovely space that has many different trails that will take you to the various collections of trees that the Arboretum has in its collection. They also host free guided tours of certain sections occasionally, so make sure to follow them on social media. The best part is that this is all free, although I would suggest making a donation to the Friends of Hoyt Arboretum if you enjoyed your time there

Park on the side of road where there are trailheads. Although it can be busy, there is always a chance to find parking. The trail system is like a web and can expand to cross many roads. However, remember where the car is parked is more important than where you got lost in the trail, as there are always people hiking and can direct where you are. But never your car.

This is a large hilly arboretum, free to the public, with a wide variety trees to learn about, loads of meandering trails to explore and get lost on and a good place to find peace, quiet and fresh oxygen just minutes from downtown. There are sections with redwoods, pines, hollies, oaks, cedars, elms, etc. mixed in with the predominantly Douglas Fir and Hemlock forest. The 30-mile Wildwood Trail winds through it.

This is such a great, quiet place in the middle of the city. There are lots of trails, but nothing too strenuous. All of the different types of trees make the arboretum unique. I loved the redwood section.

This was my favorite part of our trip to Portland. At the beginning of our hike it was just interesting reading the names of the different trees. As we went further along we began noticing the subtle differences between the different species, and really enjoyed the diversity in the trees, as weird as that sounds. You could really spend a couple days here and not see everything. Parking was pretty crazy, but it wasn't very crowded once we got away from the visitor's center. The Arboretum is a must see if you are visiting Portland. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

Portland is very fortunate to have the Hoyt Arboretum. This is one of the top Arboretum's in Northern America and in my opinion is a must go if you're in the area. We only had an hour here and only got to see a small portion of it.

Not bad. The Nature was good; but the Welcome Center was closed and the restrooms were filthy. Not their fault really; but maybe have someone keep an eye on it? The Veteran's Memorial was pretty neat with plenty of picture opportunities and flowers and life everywhere to keep their memories alive.

We haven't spent a lot of time in the Northwest, but we were in Portland for a wedding. This place is so accessible - just a few minutes from downtown. We loved this place. We explored several miles of easy trails. I highly recommend this area if you are looking for an outdoor activity in the Portland area.

Best ceremony wedding venue ever. So glad we chose this location. It was beautiful in snow and in spring. Easy to get a permit for a party or wedding in our case. Just have to go through the lottery at the beginning of the year. But also great for hikes (free) any other time. So beautiful and peaceful. I wish this was right outside my door. Oregon is calling me and i can't not pick up the phone!

Portland’s Hoyt Arboretum, situated between Washington Park and the amazingly beautiful grounds of the Pittock Mansion, is one of the crown jewels of the extensive park system within the city of Portland. It is a living library of trees, and celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2018. Many of the original plantings have by now grown into giant and beautiful specimens. The Arboretum counts more than 6000 individual trees, and more than 2000 unique species. The visitors center is a small, nondescript building located at 4000 Fairview Blvd., yet it is packed full of interesting information, resources, free maps and guides, and staffed with a smart and well-informed volunteer and professional staff who can answer your every question. During summer months, free tours are offered on Saturdays, and professional tours are available most other times of the year. With 12 miles of trails winding through Southwest Portland hillsides, there is a lot of ground to cover and dozens of interesting sites to visit. A couple of favorites include the Magnolia Trail, with over 120 of these amazing living fossils, whose spectacular flowers actually evolved before bees and other pollinators. Instead, they rely on beetles for reproduction. Be sure to spend some time on Portland‘s famous Wildwood Trail, which winds its way through several parts of the park, including an incredible miniature redwood forest comprised of dozens of the oldest trees in the park. Although these tall beauties are a far cry from the astounding giant sequoias some 480 miles south, along the California coast, this little slice of heaven will give you a taste of the Pacific Northwest’s magnificent redwood splendor. Perhaps most amazing of all, all of this is just 3 miles from the heart of downtown Portland. Quite literally a 10 minute ride from just about anywhere in downtown. An experience not to be missed!

SPLENDID TRAILS! This beautiful Oasis is easy to access from Downtown and blends well into the rest of the trails in the West Hills. I had set off on a quest on Washington Park intending to go to forest park but stumbled on the beautiful landscape here. It was SURREAL. I spent a couple hours briskly walking and only explored small portions of this trail system. I would love to come back again next weekend or when the leaves start changing colour!

I came as a last little stroll before I left Portland and it was WORTH it. Fun little trails and lots to see, I barely made a scratch in the all the hikes I could have went on. The visitor center had a bathroom, and there was a garbage can at the entrance if you brought a snack. Overall very fun time. Sadly I can't show any photos here, since I took them all with my dslr.

It's looking pretty good up here. Portland's been very crazy. But the people that cause the trouble are too lazy to climb the mountain. It's also a nice neighborhood so if you needed help from the police they might actually show up. I would feel confident if I fell down up here somebody from the medical community would find me and help me. There's a few statues left that haven't been tipped over. I would feel safe bringing my kids here.

Great trails, many of the trees have a small placard with the trees genus and species on it both teams common names and the Latin names. So many different types of trees: Grecian Firs, Ponderosa Pines, and Japanese Beech just to only name a few. The diversity of plant and animal life is really incredible. There were some squirrels that began singing (or laughing) basically began making lots of sounds in a repetitive mannor as we passed under a stand of trees, then much later there were many birds that were all chirping at the same time above in the surrounding trees. Lots of different trails, many options. The trails were wide and we'll maintained, some of them were even paved.

This tree museum has many beautifully maintained trails each of which highlights different categories of trees. You can have a short and easy walk or go for miles switching between trails. You might get lucky and see wildlife like this Barred Owl that was perched about 20 feet from a trail.

Easy, well maintained trails with user friendly parking. In the summer this is a very crowded attraction but worth the greenery and escape from the city. The clubhouse is very informational and provides details for local flora and fauna. Winter hikes are doable, but often muddier and reduced visibility (and less crowded).

Extensive trail system with different plants available to view. Many have identification labels. Displays provide additional information. Trails are generally well marked at intersections with directions to destinations. The free map available at the Visitor Center is advised. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center. They were clean and well maintained. The parking fee in the parking lots can be paid with an app or at a machine in the lot. The parking near the Visitor Center tends to fill up early, but you can park elsewhere in the park and take the free park bus. You can also take the MAX to the Washington Park station and walk or take the free bus. The 63 bus also goes to the Arboretum. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trails. Trails can get busy.

Hour Arboretum is a gem. It features miles and miles of trails visiting groves of trees of various kinds, showcasing which is which with identification plaques either on the trees or on the ground in front of trees/bushes of that variety. Large open spaces and covered wooden decks also lend this area to picnics or other gatherings. We just took to trail and covered deck for a Cub Scout adventure last night and it was perfect for our purposes. Highly recommend!!

SO beautiful. I still can't believe you only have to drive a few minutes from the city and you're essentially in the wilderness. We were in a rush to grab lunch and head to the airport but wanted to stop by, so we spent 30 minutes here and just walked around. There are trails and hikes and pathways and lounge spots for DAYS. So many options that can cater to the time you have a or the type of walk/hike you're looking for. Whether you're with family, kids, elderly, with your dog, on your own, its truly wonderful. This is one of my favorite places to hike, with many small trails that overlap and are very beautiful in the variety of tree as well as elevation and path experience, making just about every trail fun and worth revisiting. It also has a grouping of trails allowing you to walk the circumference of the arboretum of about 5 miles which also goes around the rose garden and japanese garden. I come back here frequently, however the cost is the only thing holding me back from coming more as there is a small parking fee dependent on how long you stay, with the longest length of the full day being 8 dollars last time I checked, but about half of that for a couple hours.

One of my all time favorite places to hang out with my friends and go on nature walks. There are several good trails that will take you all around Washington Park. Wildwood trail extends from Hoyt all the way 30 miles north into Forest Park and northwest Portland. The trails are named after trees that you will see on your hikes. I saw a deer, a raccoon, and some cool birds all on my last trip alone. I have been coming here throughout the two decades of my life. Very nostalgic.

I want to give this place 5 stars bc it's AMAZING. Dogwood, oak, holly, giant sequoia, coast redwoods, etc. It's beautiful and amazing. I'd give it 10 stars,b to be honest. The issue is that the signage does NOT reflect the trails and it's pretty easy to get lost. There are trails on the signs that don't exist on the maps and vice versa. They need to update their signs BADLY. Other than that, you really shouldn't have an issue finding a parking space, and it's beautiful and quiet with people who are either exercising, relaxing and enjoying nature or paying tribute to our fallen heroes of the Vietnam war. Great place.

Hoyt Arboretum is gorgeous. The trails are clearly marked. Lush, green hills provide ample space to leisurely stroll or take a rest while the kids climb trees. Did I mention it's free? The parking is only a couple of bucks and it's a couple bucks well spent.

This place is beautiful. It has over 6,000 trees and over 1,000 species. There are many hikes and walks combing through the area. Very kid friendly. I took my LO on a short walk to the redwood look out deck. Truly stunning group of redwoods and Sequoias. Despite it being winter it is very green and beautiful. Arrived early afternoon on a holiday weekday. Parking is scattered around the park, found parking relatively easily and close by a trial head. There are plenty of maps and trails are clearly marked. There are lots of people and lots of dogs around. There is also a visitor center with bathrooms. Visitor center was closed for the holiday. It has been raining but hike wasn't that muddy. Trails are very easy and not much elevation.

The signs up that State Leash Requirement are old and need to be removed, I guess. Very confusing to people who see dog owners with dogs on leash and most without, I guess it’s preferance!! I guess RUNNERS have the right of way too, new law for 2022? Interesting!

Hoyt Arboretum is a wonderful place to walk! The numerous trails are well marked and well maintained. The collection of plants is amazing and well organized. There is everything from redwoods to hawthornes to Japanese maples, Doug firs, bamboos and plants you never heard of! The informative signage is fascinating. There are many benches for resting and contemplation. In the fall, you can pile up leaves to jump into and in the spring there are lots of flowers. The Arboretum is large enough for solitude and the expansive views are a great inspiration. You can really breathe here!

Make sure you pick up a map at the visitor center so you can see the various hiking trails and different trees you can see. The visitor center is currently closed but they have maps available to grab outside. My favorite route is to park at the visitor center and take the Wildwood trail around Washington Park, past the archery range and the Japanese garden. To get back to the Visitor center take Winter Garden trail to Beech Trail. The map will show you. That stretch of the Wildwood trail is particularly stunning.

This is a beautiful way to spend a day. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Pretty much any of the paths you take is beautiful. I definitely recommend you grab a map before you head on the trails. While there are trail markers, there aren't directions to get back to the parking lots. It's also important to remember that there are about 200 acres of trees in the Hoyt Arboretum, so it's important to pick your route beforehand and park accordingly. It can be tough to find parking so I recommend you go early if possible, or take the metro up to the zoo and walk from there.

Very nice walking paths in among various forest settings. We took the redwood trail. The trails markings are a bit confusing but you won’t get lost. Gorgeous place to unwind in the middle of the city. Easy to get there by transit. If you take transit to the Washington Park MAX station, you can catch the free shuttle at the zoo to here.

A relaxing, peaceful walk. There are trails that are easier for people who prefer a firmer footing but definitely take the Redwood Trail if you can handle a couple routes on the trail and see the deck. We went a couple hours before Sunset, the one hour loop took us about 30 minutes. The paths spider web and connect so you can always make your way quickly back to the entrance before the last shuttle runs around 7pm on weekdays. We've been to the Japanese garden and the Rose Garden on previous visits but decided not to disturb the beautiful peace of those locations with our very small children. A large forest with the road running through it seemed a better place for young kids to get out and run around and be noisy.

This Arboretum is massive and it's beautifully maintained with long trails through diverse groves of magnificent trees. The Redwoods are breathtaking. Free tea in the visitor center. It's very easy to get here taking the shuttle through the park. The suggested times for walking the roots are very conservative. I would say if you walk at a healthy Pace you can finish a root in half the time of what's listed.

The visitor center has helpful people who can explain the structure of the trails for you. There's really short trails, short trails and medium trails which don't have a ton of elevation. So good simple hikes for anyone who isn't up to full blown hiking. Make sure you go in summer to see the magnolias in bloom. The redwood trees are also a must see as they're several centuries old. All the trails have clear markers and you won't ever get Lost.

Beautiful park inside the city of Portland. Features a dense network of trails. Limited parking spaces keep the number of visitors low so the trail are never overcrowded. There are no play structures do you can always expect to hear sounds of nature.

A visit to the Hoyt Arboretum is like a breath of fresh air in the city. There is even a grove of Redwood Trees to visit. The magnolias were in bloom and so beautiful. You can pick up a trail map from the gift shop/nature center and then wander to your heart's content. The trails are well marked and go through a variety of plant habitats. Hoyt Arboretum is one of my favorite places in Portland to connect with nature.

Wonderful arboretum with a lot of different trails and markers detailing the different trees and plants in the area. There are plenty of signs so that you don’t get nervous about getting lost. There are benches and pavilions to relax and sit at. My boyfriend and I plan to go back and picnic in the pavilion or the wedding meadow. *we had planned on hiking up to Pittock Mansion but that specific trail is currently closed off due to construction(?)*

Hoyt Arboretum is beautiful year round, but especially beautiful in spring and summer when the weather is beautiful and the sun is out.It's arguably just as beautiful as the Japanese Garden nearby in its own way, but best of all it's free! There are so many different trails and each one is like a step into a different world. I love learning about the different trees in the park and seeing the amazing variety. This place is the best. I highly recommend checking out the cherry tree collection in early spring, and the magnolia exhibit in mid spring. The blooms are varied and wonderful. The area is quiet and secluded, and you can even make it here on public transit.

If you are interested in trees this is the spot for you. Different hiking trails take you through different types of trees, most with markers describing each tree and plant. The land has hills and valleys so driving a chair through these can be challenging but not impossible.

This is my favorite go to place for a morning hike. There as many options for how long/intense you want to go for. Generally the closer you are to the parking lot the busier it is, also the easier the paths are to navigate. It is a very wide reaching park and you can at one point cross burnside to make the intense switchback hike to the Pittock Mansion if you are so inclined. Many of the trees are labeled and bikes are prohibited so you will find walkers/hikers, and lots of dog walkers.

It has direct access to the Oregon Zoo, World Forestry Center, Children's museum, and has the largest collection of conifers on the planet. Wonderful marked paths and notable stopping points around beautiful and unique imported trees. My personal favorite are the not too uncommon holly bushes. I’ve collected a few fallen drying leaves to press for future art project. Some trails are more fun/ longer with a view, and more woodsy which are reminiscent of the pnw rainforest vibe. Parking has been easy, pay to park at low cost for ample time. Some tree signage missing here and there. Pokestops and smaller hiking loops available to those looking for less of a day trip. Also nearby are the outdoor archery range, full rose garden, aesthetically landscaped Japanese memorial garden, and large children’s playground and tennis courts.

I can't honestly say it was good because we showed up at dark. It's open until 10. In either end of day light saving, that's dark. None of it's lit. Maybe I'm expecting too much because of the work it requires to run power through the park but maybe I'm not because they say it's open. The park is beautiful for an afternoon walk in rain, snow or beautiful sunny Sky weather. Unfortunately on August 31st I slipped on loose gravel and fractured my upper arm which is still not functional. I was taken to the emergency room and my car was left in the parking lot paid up for a full day but seeing as I couldn't drive I had to leave the car until my emergency room visit was completed and my companion was available to remove my car. In the meantime the city slack me with a $44 parking fee even though my car was removed one to two hours after my full day payment lapsed. As far as I could tell there is no way to get a refund with the injury I have in a timely fashion as my repair will take months. I don't really have anyone willing to present for hours to argue for that $44 and there's no one that can take a phone call. I slipped on loose gravel which was like landing on marbles or ball bearings. The whole thing seems a little unfair and I've been out of work the entire time.
