Wonderful experience from start to finish. Very immersive from the moment that you walk through the door. The waiting room before you even enter the rooms is next level, and also has some fun puzzles you can warm up with before your room. We did “Jazz Parlor” and “Inventor’s Attic”, and both games were awesome! Very unique and well thought out puzzles. Our gamemasters were both also great. We’ve done escape rooms all over the world, and this one is definitely worth a visit!

Escape My Room is one of the most well thought out escape rooms my group and I have ever encountered. From when you first walk in to when you leave, you have been transported back in time. We completed our third room at this location and out of all the escape rooms we have done, this place has turned into our favorite. The staff are amazing and you always meet a new character for each room. It may seem a little more pricey than other escape rooms, but the experience makes it so worth it!

What a pleasure. Seriously. There are escape room places that build great sets. Great puzzles. Great moments. And Escape My Room has all of that. But what Escape My Room has that many do not, is narrative. A continuous story that exists through all of their games and involves you from the moment you step into the building. The lobby, the hallways, and even the game masters, all exist within the intricately crafted world that is Escape My Room. You become involved in a larger story that spans across all of their games. Every puzzle, set piece, prop and story beat are carefully crafted to to enhance the overall narrative. I have played all of their games and I want to especially shout out Inventor's Attic for its whimsy and brilliant puzzles and props. Smuggler's Den also accomplishes something in an escape room that others have attempted, but they've succeeded where they failed. No spoilers here though! Thank you folks for bringing your storytelling to this amazing industry.

Our group had an AWESOME time at this escape the room!! But I have to commend Laslo on his amazing job being the leader and storyteller of our escape the room. He honestly did such a good job and made it such an exciting an experience that we came back the next day, however that storyteller was very unenthusiastic and completely bored - it was a shame. All in all- we had a great time the first time and the puzzles were so fun to work through as a team!

I would honestly give this place 100 stars if I could. Whatever your expectations are, Escape My Room will exceed them. It's immersive, it's magical, it's fun, it's challenging, the staff is unmatched, the experience is one of a kind- even if you're an escape room vet. I can go on and on. I went for the first time in Sept of 2019 and I was BLOWN AWAY by the level of detail in their building; and that was BEFORE we even got into the actual room. I've done over 20 escape rooms, and even used to work at one. But this one wins over all of them, hands down, and it's not even a competition. We loved it so much we did another room when we came back in Oct of 2021, and will be doing another when we go again in March of 2023. Obviously, I highly recommend this place. I promise you won't be disappointed. One word of warning though: if you've never done a room before and this is your first one, it will absolutely ruin every other one you might do after. This place is on a different level. Nothing can compare. Trust me.

Great atmosphere, very immersive. Way better than any other escape room I’ve done. The clues were not too far fetched, but still very creative. The actor/guide was very friendly and fun, and was very helpful. If you’re ever in New Orleans I highly recommend it.

My first escape room, and it was very difficult, which was what made it fun. The guide who was helping us along the way was amazing. Manu puzzles requiring teamwork were very fun. The story of the mystery was also incredibly interesting and fun to be a "detective." Topsy, "Cutie" we love you.

My kids and I had so much fun in the Inventors Attic! Kids begged to come back, but since we are out of state, it’s not possible this time, but next time to New Orleans it will be a definite place we revisit. Absolutely authentic and so creative… my kids have been to other escape rooms and HANDS DOWN THIS IS THE BEST they had been to. Must come and enjoy.

Antoinette was a spirited guide, but not at all intrusive. She set the tone for the escape room perfectly, and gave us just the right amount of help when we were stuck. The venue itself was also perfect, very thoughtfully decorated and really giving an “old south” vibe. My group had an excellent time here!!

Best escape room I did so far for me. Immersive even before the game. Staff amazingly welcoming. We did the smugglers den and it’s a must try ! Half of the game is in the dark and it’s really fun and unique.

We did 3 out of their 4 rooms (Jazz Parlor, Smuggler's Den and Inventors Attic)!! ALL rooms were pretty awesome!! Excellent challenging puzzles, and awesome electronics props. We are escape rooms enthusiastics with over 50+ escaped rooms all over the US and this place, for sure, became our number one favorite! Amazing decor from the entrance, to the waiting room and to the actual escape room. Not to mentioned awesome hosts! Topsy and Carlton acting skills were fun and made our whole experience very enjoyable. We HIGHLY recommend Escape My Room! Thank you so much guys for making our visit to NOLA a fun one!! 😍

If you are looking for an immersive Escape Room then this is the right place. Hands down, it's the most immersive experience Ive been to and Ive been to some too places around the US. I suggest you start with their Mardi Gras Study even though it's the oldest and first room. Its best to start at the beginning of the story. Their blackout room was really fun as well, you cant go wrong here. Make sure you arrive 15 mins before so you get the FULL pre experience! You'll thank me later!

This was so much fun. We will definitely be going back! Edit: After completing all rooms I can absolutely say this place is great. Every game master we came across stayed beautifully in character without making it weird. The rooms all have the running theme of the DeLaPorte family and feel super authentic. The waiting area is well-decorated and comfortable. Highly, highly recommend!

Amazing, incredible, beautiful, perfect! Found this place literally 20 minutes before i walked there with my friend for my birthday! Laszlo is unmatched! Made the experience the greatest from beginning to end, so lively, fun, and helpful. This place is a true gem and is a must if you’re visiting New Orleans. Upon arriving to New Orleans, we immediately made our way to Escape My Room to play the Jazz Room & Inventors Attic, giving us our 121st escapes. Walking in the entrance was cool and much can be said about the waiting area. They had a puzzle/mini game available to us while we waited which got us warmed up. Both rooms were excellent and if you are fortunate enough to escape with 15 minutes or more you can choose to do a bonus round 😉 Shout out to our GMs Val and Midge who were great!

This was the most immersive escape room I had ever done. Unlike the other escape rooms, you feel like you have stepped into another world as soon as you open the front door. I did the inventor's attic with one other person. I was told it would be a difficult challenge for only two people, but we were able to escape from the room with 20 minutes left to spare. The puzzles were unique and clever. Word of advice: Get there early. There are a lot of things you can do and see in the waiting room. If you enjoy escape room, you need to try out this one before you leave New Orleans.

This was my first escape room experience, and it completely blew my mind! Our group of 4 was paired with a group of 2 for the "Inventor's Attic". The whole experience was magical from the moment we walked into the parlor of the Delaporte family home, which set the energy and atmosphere for the rest of our time. Junior was our host, and he did an excellent job guiding our experience. He was helpful when we clearly were following a false tangent, but never gave us any easy outs. He was patient and whimsical, and I would specifically go again when he is there! The Inventor's Attic was later after layer of surprise and delight. The puzzles we're challenging, and really gave us great pride when each was solved. It was really fun to see your friends work in a new dynamic, and we have not stopped talking about the attic and it's puzzles since we finished! I am officially hooked on Escape My Room, and am counting the minutes until I go back!

This place is great. My group did both of the available rooms (yes, we beat both even though they have a 32% and 37% win rate). Both of the rooms themselves were awesomely done; probably the best rooms I've done this far. What made the experience even better was that there were even more puzzles in the elaborate lobby to get you warmed up.

Hands down, the best escape room we've done! We've done a lot of rooms in multiple cities and the Jazz Parlor was the most creative, interactive, and fun room that we've ever seen. There are multiple layers of puzzles for those that dig and the whole experience just shines with a level of attention to detail unmatched by anything else I've tried. These guys are great. If you like puzzles and unique experiences, go here. I know I'll be back for their other rooms next time I'm in NOLA!

A MUST DO!! This place is not overhyped it is as amazing as it seems. Absolutely worth the money and time. Only arrive about 30 minutes before your time slot even though it says 1 hour. You can walk here from the French Quarter in about 12 minutes. It took me and 3 other adults exactly 1 hour to escape. I wouldn't recommend going without atleast 3 people total or make sure you're in a time slot that has other guests. Not creepy or spooky at all, good light positive problem solving and suspense filled fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Our recent trip to New Orleans would not have been complete without our experience at Escape My Room. The facility is amazing and dripping with ambiance. From the moment we (my wife and two boys 10 & 12) walked into the building to the moment we left we were completely immersed. The room we did was the jazz room which proved challenging but doable thanks to the perfect subtle guidance of Lazlo who was fantastic. A perfect host and guide. Attentive and helpful without giving us answers but just enough to nudge us along. Lazlo rules!!

This is the best escape room I’ve ever been to! Right off the bat you’re immersed into the experience when you go to check in and a friendly voice comes over the speaker, greeting you in character and bringing you through a hidden door to the lobby where there’s a warm up puzzle to do while you wait for your room to be ready. Midge the psychic was an amazing hostess and explained the rooms and rules, still in character, in a fun and interactive way. She came over the loudspeaker whenever we needed a clue and the whole experience was just amazing, we will definitely be back!

4 of us tried to tackle the Inventor's Attic as our first escape room adventure. We enjoyed ourselves but didn't finish within the hour. If we had 2 hours we might have finished but it was a bit complex for us newbys. The facility was very cool and our host 'Val' played the role beautifully. We will go back, but for an easier room.

Visiting from Out of state and decided to fill some time with an escape room. (For reference we have done over 10 rooms over the years in multiple states) I was a little put off by the price (it was just me and my husband) but it was worth it. I first found the entrance off putting but we were immediately reassured that we were in the right place in such a fun away, and showing up a few minutes early was rewarded! This was such a great experience. We did the smugglers den and while the actual puzzles weren’t the hardest we have had , the way you had to do them was so unique and fun! I am now planning on coming back to New Orleans just to bring the kids to this escape room.

I came with a friend and did the jazz parlor one night and another room the following night. We absolutely loved it!! HIGHLY recommend. One of the coolest escape room experiences ever. The entrance alone is worth the trip! I've done quite a few escape rooms in the past few years and this one definitely was one of the best! The level of interaction was really high, and unique. There were a few things that need fixing, like they need to redo their blacklight marker stuff, but otherwise it was amazing.

Amazingly detailed, lovingly crafted escape room. The puzzle masters are unique and committed to the experience. My group did two different rooms in an afternoon and they were equally fantastic. We consider ourselves pretty seasoned and they both proved challenging. We were impressed by the level of detail and the craftsmanship of the individual rooms as well as the business as a whole. If you are looking for an escape room in the area, don't miss it!

Don't let the location fool you! Once you walk into their main entrance room you are instantly transferred into the game. Everything is decorated with little small saying and jokes as well as a little game at the beginning while you wait. Once you begin your room you get so focused the time flies! At any point you can speak to the voice in the sky, aka your game host or hostess, if you need hints. This was my first escape game and I'm already signed up for my second. Fantastic experience!

We were visiting from San Diego and our swamp tour was cancelled do to weather. We decided to do Inventor's Attic with the family: parents, two teens and a preteen. It was the best escape room we have ever been to. The clues were challenging and fun to work out . The decor was amazing, which added to the atmosphere and the sense of make believe. This is by far the coolest escape room I’ve ever done. We had two groups of 6 race to complete the two Jazz rooms and it was such a fun group activity. The entire experience from the moment you walk in is outstanding. HIGHLY recommend.

Booked the Jazz Parlor Escape room on a whim on a sunday morning. We did need to wear our masks the whole time, staff also wore masks the whole time due to COVID which was no bother. The experience began as soon as we walked in, the establishment was quirky from the decor to our host, Emily. Emily was very upbeat and completely in character. We got a back story and were led to our room. The Jazz Parlor escape room was very fun, challenging at times, hints were helpful! We ESCAPED!! There was even a bonus second challenge we got to endure following the escape room which was a nice surprise. Would recommend!!

Atmospheric but exceedingly poorly lit. The room we played had a number of interesting puzzles but it was made much more difficult due to poor lighting and worn and poorly functioning equipmemt. Be prepared to read *a lot* of text. On the positive side there was not an over-reliance on combination lock based puzzles.

My husband and I escaped from the Jazz Parlor with Emily as our host. First of all - Emily was ON IT! The moment we had a question or needed a hint she was on the speakers to help... almost as if she was actually paying attention to what we were doing, which isn’t something we have experienced a lot in the area! We’ve done over 100 rooms all over the country and really enjoyed this room and company. The room was VERY well designed, and challenging while still remaining logical. We loved the added immersion of the spooky lobby and our wonderful host, Emily, staying in character the whole time. We will be back to do the other rooms!!

My friends and I have done roughly 10 escape rooms together and I think this place is my favorite. We did two rooms in one weekend. (Smugglers Den and Inventors Attic) We've been to several escape rooms elsewhere where the rooms itself were just awesome. Great props, decor and themes but there is just something about this place that stands out to me. The props were good here too. Pretty much everything in the entire place looks like a piece from time but Good vibes I got is the best way I can describe this place. It wasn't just "ok you are here to play a game, watch this video and begin". From the moment we walked in the employees are more of actors and are in character with the theme of the Mansion and the room you are doing. The rooms were challenging but not super hard. Smugglers Den was quite a new experience for us. The clues are there if you know where look (or feel) and there is no 'penalty' for getting a little nudge in the right direction if needed. We didn't need it though. (Well..maybe just once) If you are in N.O. looking for something fun to do that isn't Bourbon St. You should definitely challenge yourself at Escape My Room.

Great Time for Rookies My group of four decided to take a break from stuffing our faces and drinking excessively while visiting NOLA. I recalled seeing an ad for an Escape Room in the area so I looked it up. I was glad that it was within a very short (<6 mins) walk from our hotel. Took a bit of convincing for my friends to go because they didn't understand the concept. I had been once before to an Escape Room though. Not wanting to spoil it for you, but the NOLA Escape Room is much better than my last experience (which was super fun as well). The theme starts out as soon as you enter the door, and the staff are in character throughout. Antoinette was our hostess and was funny the entire time. She also knew when to assist us when we were stuck and wasting time. I recommend the Jazz room for newbies. With a bit of luck, and teamwork you have a good chance of figuring it out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Thanks Antoinette! You made all the difference.

One of the best escape room experiences I’ve ever had! You can tell a lot of thought and work has been put into these rooms - the puzzles are novel and related to the story. And the decor! While some escape rooms I’ve been to keep the decor light (so everything in the room turns out to be a clue), the rooms are rich with red herrings and background plot. Loved the entire experience and wish I had done the room earlier in my trip to New Orleans - I now want to try them all!! A great way to spend a rainy day!

We've done a few escape rooms, so decided to spend a rainy vacation day doing this one and were not disappointed. The atmosphere and design were excellent, with a New Orleans feel yet accessible for travellers (no specific local knowledge required). Our host Wren was excellent, both very friendly and helpful throughout the experience. The escape room puzzles were quite well designed, with many unique challenges. We were impressed by the thought put into it, as well as the fact that it flowed very well and was doable for 2 people (both having experience with escape rooms) yet also posed challenges along the way. The location of the building was fairly close to where we were staying and booking a weekday morning spot didn't require excessive notice. It is lots of fun for a smaller group and well worth your time! Would have loved to try an additional room if we were there for a longer period of time (especially with cold/rainy weather!).

We did the "Smuggler's Den." I have been through 20+ escape rooms in several different cities, and Escape My Room in New Orleans is one of the most outstanding and unique escape rooms I have tried. This place is amazing! As other reviews have stated, the experience starts as soon as you walk in the front door. I don't want to spoil anything, but they have set up a really interesting world and stories that tie to each (escape) room. The staff stays in character from beginning to end too. Our game master for the room was Wren. Special thanks to her for not giving any unprompted hints during the game even though we were struggling. We usually like to try to see how far we can get without help first. We started asking for hints with 4 minutes left but we still didn't pass (pretty close though). They're not joking about the pitch black for half the game! Also note Smuggler's Den is only 45 minutes long. Anyway, I highly recommend this room and I hope we have time to try another before we leave!

This is a great experience! Our group did two rooms. The puzzles are well set up - challenging but solvable. They even have bonus puzzles if you get through the rooms faster than anticipated. The decor and the story are great and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you go, check out the several puzzles in the waiting area.

You can tell that a lot of thought and work has gone into to overall setup of the facility and the rooms. The game starts as soon as you walk in the door! She was friendly and informative and just made the whole thing interesting and fun from start to finish! Fantastic experience! The initial welcome into the game was superb, I've done a couple escape rooms and I've never had such a beginning. The puzzle itself (I did the inventors puzzle) was very well crafted. No part was too frustrating to complete and solving the puzzles was very rewarding. What a great Escape Room Company... I was able to do Jazz Parlor and Inventor's Attic, and wished that I had time to investigate more...JP was a great start with some unique pieces, but my partner and I left IA beaming with joy! IA is such a well written game, with non-stop impressive tech and puzzles that are super fun to solve. The space is so immersive and pays clever homage to the beautiful and mysterious city it resides. I've have had the pleasure of visiting many Escape Rooms in different countries, and this was one of the coolest introductions and use of lobby space I've ever seen. I would love to dive into the details, but don't want to spoil this for anyone! The staff were also top notch, catering perfectly to our experience all while maintaining character. I have no idea how they organize and keep the flow working so well within the space....it is a well designed and managed operation. I highly recommend these experiences to locals looking for something new to try, tourists wanting an awesome to-do that feels like NOLA, enthusiasts excited for a new challenge, gamers looking for the next great game, artists appreciating other artists, or.....pretty much everyone. I've done over a dozen escape rooms and this was by far the best one. We visited for my birthday and escaped with just 6 minutes left. The rooms were beyond immersive. You start from the minute you walk in and are immediately solving puzzles. The waiting area has puzzles for you to do to keep you busy and warm up. The staff was awesome and so on brand. The room was clever and we'll thought out. If I lived here if be back every weekend!

The family is now talking about another trip to New Orleans just to complete the other 2 rooms. The puzzles were unique compared to other escape rooms. Appropriately challenging, but not impossible. The details, props and decor were amazing. Cannot even imagine the time and effort it took to create these rooms. This is a must do experience while in New Orleans!

I totes adore how this game starts off. I don't want to give it away. But, answer the phone when it rings. You will be glad you did. They have you figuring out puzzles well before your game even starts. The employees do a great job staying in character the entire length of your stay. We did an escape room that was completely dark for the majority of the time. It was a little scary at first. But once you realize there's nothing to scare you it just gets tedious. So much effort to solve very basic puzzles because you can't see what you're doing. Don't get me wrong I had a blast. But once the lights come on, it's an entirely different experience. Peace out and keep up the good.

This place was awesome and thorough. It was also really hard. We had a really good time and we solved the murder with 7 minutes to spare! The rooms are very very unique and the storyline is also unique. They put a lot of effort into the details of the room and even just when you walk in. It's a lot of fun and totally worth the money. We made it a closed session which made it a little bit more expensive but was worth it because then nobody random could intrude on our session and schedule themselves at the same time as us. We had Wren and she was amazing

Like the way it's set up with strange and unique decorations throughout, the costumes you can wear if you choose and the photo at the end. A nice bonus. Our hostess was very nice and explained everything. We did manage to escape but it did take a few helpful hints from our hostess to do it.

Really awesome set of rooms! We did the inventor's attic and it was just hard enough that we finished with minutes to spare, but not so hard that we got stuck on any one puzzle for 30 minutes! The whole experience is really immersice, starting when you enter the waiting room everything is themed and really well decorated. The staff is very friendly and the process is well organized. My one small critique is that a few of the puzzles just required you to systematically try different combinations of answers until you happened to get one right, which I'm not a big fan of. Otherwise fantastic experience and we will be back!

Really fantastic experience, worth every penny. I've done both rooms and they are both a lot of fun and not easy. I've been to one other escape room in Florida which was just an office that happened to have some escape rooms but Escape My Room really puts in the time and effort into the ambience of the entire experience starting with the very first room you walk into (not even an escape room itself, just the parlor) all the way to the last. The staff is funny and part of the charm. The puzzles are tricky without being needlessly frustrating and the payoffs are hugely rewarding throughout. Highly recommend.

Some of the best experiences I have had at an escape room. I had done a few at home, and while on vacation I convinced my partner to give one a shot. We ended up doing 3 of the 4 rooms in the week we were in town. Nathaniel, Junior, and Dottie were great hosts. Similar entertainment venues don't even give a glimmer in comparison to the entertainment we had in the Jazz Parlor with Jax as our guide. Excellent staff and beautiful production value from the moment you step into the building. You can clearly tell the people who work here really love the medium of Escape Rooms and are enthusiastic for you to have a good time. I've done 30+ escape rooms and did the Inventors Attic here. Would rate it a medium difficulty with our group finishing in 40 minutes. Puzzles are cleverly thought out and flowed logically with the theme. If you are in visiting NOLA, I'd definitely recommend allotting an hour or 2 of your trip for this Escape Adventure

Easily one of the best escape rooms I've escaped from and I've escaped from plenty ;) I'm from CA and I thought it'd be fun to do a new escape room in a new city. I did quick a yelp search and fell in love with this place. It's one of the few rooms I've seen that had such a compelling theme. The entire escape room(s) share a central backstory and Escape My Room has done a fantastic job in making sure their guest feel immersed in the story. If you're in New Orleans looking for a room to do then I highly recommend checking this place out. Why? Rooms Played: I did both the inventor's attic and smuggler's den which were the two hardest room to date and our group size is 6 people. Puzzles: (5/5) They did a good job of balancing between finding clues/objects and logic puzzles. In addition, they did a great job in spreading the puzzles out so that simultaneous groups can do puzzles and it's not linear. This is super important for larger groups so that everyone can actively participate. Production Value: (5/5) From the lobby to the actual escape room, everything was so well themed. I felt like I got transported to another time and world. They even let you wear costumes to feel like you're a part of the story! From start to finish, you'll feel like you're a part of the story. Price: (4/5) It's priced at ~$30 per person. This is pretty standard compared to other escape rooms. I actually think it's well worth the price! Other things to note: - I love that it's a little tricky finding the place, a little puzzles before the actual puzzle - street parking only

Spectacular escape room... best I've ever tried. My boyfriend and I were blown away! The gorgeous setting, intricate props, awesome puzzles, technology, sound effects, it was just an experience like no other. I loved how very "New Orleans" all of it was and how much our hosts stayed in character. I HIGHLY, without reservation, recommend this to anyone living in the city or just passing by. For the record, the rooms we did were the Jazz Parlor and the Inventor's Attic (the first is challenging but better for beginners, the second I'd recommend to groups with a little more experience).

If you ever get the chance to check out Escape My Room in New Orleans you will not be disappointed! From the second you walk in the mystery begins. The kids (10,12) really got into character and it was neat to watch them interact with everything. We have been trying to hit at least one Escape Room in each US state. We were in NOLA for the weekend, and tried the "Jazz Parlor". It was so awesome, we came back the next night to try the "Inventors Attic"! Way better than most other rooms where you spend an hour fiddling with padlocks. Even just getting in to the building is fun. This experience was excellent, immersive, and just the right difficulty level. The staff was fantastic (thanks Emily!). 10/10 we will totally do another room at Escape My Room if we're ever back in New Orleans.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Literally from the moment my friend and I tried to find it we started having fun! I love how much thought and detail went into the design of the rooms, and how they really let you put yourself in the roles that go with the theme of the room. Honestly, I have been to three other escape rooms and this one is by far my favorite and on the cheaper end for some that I have seen. It was well worth my time and money. Oh yeah, Agnes is the best, so helpful and very sweet :)!!

Did the jazz room as a party of 2 and a separate party of 3. I'm an escape room veteran and can say for certain this room will not disappoint. Refreshingly, it has very few mechanical locks to open and instead revolves more around interacting with the environment. The logic flows well from one objective to the next. There is a more fleshed out narrative than most escape rooms and some of the reading materials will make the story richer-- while providing clues of course. Overall production values are excellent; the materials look and feel authentic. The guide was fantastic, affecting an accent that was just the right proportions of cheesy and charming. I strongly recommend this escape room whether it's your first or fiftieth.

Awesome place! You are in character from the moment you step in the front door. The lobby area is large and expansive with all kinds of interesting things to look at while you wait. We did the Jazz Parlor mystery, which was very fun. We didn't escape but got very close! All different sorts of puzzles and clues. The bar has been set high for all other escape rooms.

We have now played over 180 escape rooms all over the country. Escape My Room is now my favorite escape room company. What they have created is a masterpiece. The immersion starts the moment you walk in and the way they have designed your experience is absolutely incredible. I could have spent my entire day in their lobby, just exploring and experiencing all of the lovely details. The games themselves were absolutely beautiful, themed so well and so believably, full of clever puzzles and incredible reveals that were truly joyful to experience. We were only able to play 2 games this trip but in a way I'm happy because that means I get to go back and experience it again. I can't wait!

This was the best escape room I have ever done. Carlos was an incredible guide with a great sense of humor. “Escaping the room” was easy to moderate, but the bonus puzzle had us racing to the last minute. Decorations were clearly curated and it wasn’t just an afterthought. The puzzle gave 6 people plenty to do with some cool effects and solutions that definitely required some brain power. Wish we stayed in NOLA longer to do more of these.

This is an immersive experience from the moment you walk in the door. We found this Escape Room on our last day in New Orleans and we had to do all 4. These have easily been my favorite. Our work group had so much fun solving these clues and escaping the room! They start the experience with costumes and setting the scene, and then they put you in a themed room (we got Jazz themed!) and the timer begins! You have 60 minutes to work with your team to find clues and solve the puzzles to escape the room. Very hands on with fun and inventive clues. Great team builder in a fun and engaging environment. Would recommend to families, friends, co-workers, etc for any occasion.

This escape room was great. I had done a different escape room before and this one beat it as far as the attention to detail, the story and the setup (in the other one, for example, it was sometimes too dark to see or write, no such problems here). We did the Jazz Parlor and Rose was our hostess. We were very close to escaping, didn't manage to, but lots of fun was had by all. I also loved the fact that we were encouraged to choose costumes out of a chest and put them on, and the way to check in via a perfume shop was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this as a fun, group bonding activity.

Every part of Escape my Room, from entering the building and leaving, is super cool. The puzzles were challenging, but they were not dumb luck tests. This was my first attempt at an escape room, an experience I shared with a friend and a couple of strangers, all of which were also first timers. We chose the Inventor's Attic room and it was such an enjoyable experience. Our host 'Phineas' gave a brief and enjoyable back story before disappearing into the background. We only heard from him again when we were obviously stuck and then he offered a couple of hints rather than actually solving puzzles for us. We never did escape, having 1.5 puzzles left to solve before the time ran out. Not bad for our first ever escape room. All in all a brilliant experience I couldn't recommend more. Do yourself a favor and book a session now!

We went as a family of four to New Orleans and had so much fun the first time that we played a different room the next day. We especially appreciated that the room had a New Orleans vibe to it, so we didn't feel like we could be doing an escape room in any city- it definitely felt like New Orleans. From the moment you ring the bell you are transported to The waiting area is themed and there are puzzles to do while you wait. Most other escape room that we have done have a sterile environment for their eating room, with the exception of the Hollywood Escape Room. We've done 8 different places for escape room and this was our favorite. Both of the stories made sense and the puzzles were challenging and fun.

I was expecting this to be fun but this was BEYOND fun. My husband bought us 2 tickets for my birthday and we were paired with another group of 6 people. The decor, mood, story line, and clues were all so detailed and well thought out. We did end up escaping in time but it was very challenging - exactly what I was hoping for. Don't mistake this for some kind of "tourist" attraction. I'm a local, I don't like touristy things and this was not touristy at all - locals and tourists alike can enjoy this place. I had so much fun, and our team worked so well together. Go, you won't be disappointed!

Of all the escape rooms I've tried, this one is by FAR my favorite. The atmosphere, attention to detail, and New Orleans-based storyline make Escape My Room an amazing experience. Whenever I'm in New Orleans, I check to see if a new room is available, because it's one of my favorite things to do in the city. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a little hard to find, partly due to some construction that was being done on the street outside, but that just adds to the experience. Step one of the escape room: find the escape room. I also love the puzzles you can do in the waiting area. If you're thinking about trying an escape room, this is the one you should do! Seriously. Totally worth the price.

My sons (19 & 9) and I visited New Orleans for Spring Break and came across Escape My Room while looking for activities nearby. Not realizing it was appointment only, we were greeted in the most unexpected fashion. Immediately hooked us so we booked a slot for the following day. The entire experience was so much fun, perfect mix of vintage creep factors, puzzles, story lines, and teamwork. I wish this was in our city so we could enjoy each experience. Phineas was a delight, couldn't determine if he was a great actor or truly as eccentric as he seemed. Lol. Escape My Room is for sure on our list for when we visit N.O. again.

SO MUCH FUN! This was my first escape room experience, and wow was it awesome! You don't have to arrive early if you don't want, but there are puzzles to solve in the waiting area, and they are a good warm-up to what you'll be doing in the room. Plus there are just so many cool things to look at! We had 3 adults in our group, and paid for 8 to have the room to ourselves. But in hindsight, we see how fun it would be to join others, plus there are so many puzzles to solve that you could use extra help! We did finish, but with about 2 seconds to spare. The room (we did Mardi Gras room) was a great balance of challenging, without being too frustrating, and when we got stuck once, they gave us a hint without giving it away. Highly recommend, and will be back the next time we visit New Orleans!

It was a good escape room experience. First, this company did a great job creating an immersive ambience that really sucked you into the scenario and New Orleans' history. The puzzles were fun but pretty difficult. The only thing is you should plan more than an hour for the experience as the company was very slow getting us into our room. We were not in the room until a half hour after our scheduled time, instead we were waiting in the lobby without anything to do or instruction.

Went for my very first escape room experience yesterday. I'll admit, I felt a little skeptical that the whole thing was going to be for me. Wow. Was I surprised. The whole thing was incredible. Within 1 minute of arriving I was into it. The theming here is so deep. The staff was great ( Thanks Dylan!) and the ambience of the "mansion" was spot on. My group is planning to return today for another of the 3 rooms. Walking distance from the French quarter and with lots of bars and restaurants in the vicinity, this place has it all. If you like puzzles, mysteries, historical fiction and/or group bonding then get yourself to this place while you're in New Orleans!

This place was INCREDIBLE!! My husband and I were looking for fun things to do while in New Orleans for a little weekend mini-vacay. We’re in our early 30’s, but don’t really like the bar and club scenes, so this was right up our alley. From the moment we stepped in, the invigorating experience began!! We did the Jazz Parlor room with 1 other couple and we made it out with seconds to spare! It was sooooo much fun. Definitely our best escape room ever and a major highlight on our trip! They had amazing decor, hidden elements, and even some costumes and items you can wear while you play to add to the ambience! We contemplated doing Mystere’s Escape Rooms because we LOVE scary things and saw they had rooms more geared toward haunting and thriller. But, Mystere was about $100 for the both of us BC we are out of towners and don’t have LA state ids!! That was crazy. Escape my room was only $60 and was a TON of fun... Highly recommended!!

I've gone here twice, and loved it both times! The first time was with 3 friends, and we ended up with a group of 8 total. The second time was just my husband and I, and we were the only ones in the room. It was great both ways, but being the only 2 in the room was better I think, and we did escape. So, don't be intimidated by doing it with small groups!

SPOILER FREE!!! We decided we should probably break up our time in NO with at least SOME sobriety. So, my sister-in-law suggested an escape room. I am glad she did, because it was a blast! So awesome, that we immediately booked one of the other rooms (this place has a few options) for the VERY NEXT DAY! This was my first experience, so I cannot compare to others, but the attention to detail was INSANELY AWESOME. From the moment you walk in the door! We did a murder mystery on the first day, and it truly showed that each of the four of us brought something different to the table. Junior, the person who was our “guide” was great! He provided a great experience and made sure we had fun! We did more of a puzzle type room the next day, which I liked a little better because I am more analytical, and it was also AWESOME! Our “guide” was a tall guy with brown hair, and I feel bad I am not giving his name, but I just can’t remember it. it was something unique like Finneaus... I am now pretty sure it was Finneaus, and he was also fantastic! Bottom line... we had a mix of people who were excited to try it, and people who thought it was going to be lame. Everyone got into it and left with a smile on their face!

If you are a big fan of escape rooms, you have to check out this one. If you're brand new to escape rooms, this is a fantastic one to start with (although it may spoil you). The amount of detail they put into the puzzles, clues, story, and atmosphere is incredible. I've done two out of three of their rooms so far, and I cannot recommend them enough.

AMAZING! Hands down one of the coolest escape room companies we have ever seen! My fiancé and I have played 134 rooms and this is the company we can’t stop talking about. We ended up playing all of the rooms they had to offer and our only thought after playing the first game, The Inventor’s Attic was “how soon can we book another game?” You will love this place and the amazing staff. The wonderfully delightful and charming Antoinette brightens even the darkest of rooms and is a proper game master. The sophisticated Belle DeLaporte is the definition of southern grace and hospitality and will make your soul desperate for the smooth tones that only New Orleans can offer. Junior, with his haphazard brilliants, will take you to new heights and show you a new world inside the mind of a member of the DeLaporte family. Lazlo, full of youth and kooky energy, gives you a chance to see what New Orleans celebrations are all about. The entire staff made us feel right at home in this crazy odd, yet strangely warm, home of the DeLaporte family. Seriously, the amazing people at Escape My Room were so great and made our whole trip to New Orleans worth it. We loved this place and were so happy to meet such amazing and welcoming people. We could not believe the amount of unique and mind-blowing puzzles we got to see. The rooms and waiting area are absolutely beautiful and have real antiques and oddities scattered about to make for what might just be a perfect escape room. The entire place, from the very moment you see the door, sparks intrigue and wonder that invites you to explore and see the massive amount of interesting parts of the world this company transports you to. The people who made this place are some of the most creative we have seen and the puzzles are fun and like no others you will see and the story lines keep to the New Orleans traditions as well as give the player a completely new and different experience than other escape rooms. The only thing I wish we had gotten to do was meet the owner and creator of such a fantastic place and meet a true genius. We were fascinated with the game mechanics and stories being told and couldn’t get enough. It was the one escape room we didn’t want to escape from. To any enthusiasts out there, Escape My Room is a much more memorable and fun adventure than any adventure you could take to Baton Rouge. I wholeheartedly recommend trying all of the rooms at Escape My Room! Thanks again to the entire staff. You guys made a disappointing trip turn into a treasured memory and that 100% thanks to you. This really was an amazing place and one of the best experiences of my vacation. We're all 23, and want to have an engaing and unique experience and this was it. It was our first escape room ever, the inventors attic really was tough, but we finished with 5 minutes left. They really put alot of thought into each room, and the challenges aren't unsolvable, but the amount of challenges and puzzles in the room made every minute exciting. I would definitely reccomend this to a group who wants to have fun and be challenged.

Escape My Room is fully immersive from the moment you walk in the front door, with detailed decor, production elements, and engaging puzzles that keep you entertained even before your scheduled game begins. Our game master, Wren, was a wonderful hostess who provided thoughtful (challenging, not too hand-holdy) hints to help us succeed. If we ever find ourselves back in New Orleans, the remaining Escape My Room rooms are definitely on our to-do list.

Having done probably 15+ escape rooms across the country, I can say this was one of the better escape room experiences I’ve had. Upon entering the building, the rustic “escape room” vibe immediately becomes apparent. The walls are lined with old artifacts, paintings, and portraits. Many things seem to have the wear and tear of long term use that gives the entire building an old mansiony vibe. The lobby itself has little puzzles you can work on to solve while waiting for your room, some of which have already been solved by others and some that are still unsolved. There’s 3 rooms to explore and look at things so you don’t get bored. The game master was also amazing and added to the realistic mansiony feel of the place. He stayed entirely in character as he was explaining the background story for our room and the rules of the game. The room itself was very well designed and executed. The puzzles were clean and straightforward despite being difficult to solve at times. Anything confusing about the room is cleared up with instructions you can find around the room. The clues were true to the theme of the room and were exciting to solve. Overall, would highly, highly recommend this escape room for novices and more experienced escape room goers alike. Everything about the place has been expertly designed and thought out to ensure the best experience possible. Will definitely be back to try out their other rooms!

This was tremendously fun! From the moment upon arrival to the photo finish! Escape My Room has really paid attention to detail and it has created quite the immersive experience. My group of 6 did the Jazz Parlor room yesterday and it was SO.MUCH.FUN! The greeter was in character the whole time and had a great accent. This, combined with the decor, the clues, and the story line, really created a unique and unforgettable experience. It was such cool activity - very different from a usual Wednesday night and a great change of pace. I don't want to give anything away so I won't go into details of the room. Once we arrived and our hour long timer began, it took my group a few minutes to gather our thoughts and start collecting clues. There are so many things to look at! But the actual hunting around for clues and piecing things together was great. I guess we went a little out of order than "usual" but honestly, I didn't really notice. There is no right or wrong way to solve the puzzle! After we escaped we were taken to the photo finish room where they snap a photo of your team as a fun keepsake. Photos are then posted on their social media for you to find. I would highly recommend this Escape Room over any others in the city! I've been to others but none were as fun or as story-immersive as this one. I can't wait to try out their other rooms!

This was my first experience with an escape room. It was a very entertaining way to spend an evening. I had a lot of fun solving all of the puzzles with my friends. I got a group of five of my friends and we got to do it together. It was cool how we got to touch everything and how it had a lot of New Orleans related things in it. It was pretty challenging and even though we didn't escape (we were sooo close) it was lots of fun. They even took the time afterwards to tell us the piece of the puzzle we were missing at the end.

Nathaniel was an excellent host and really made us feel like we were part of a production rather than simply solving a series of puzzles. We chose the Mardi Gras room, and without too much detail I'll sum it up by saying it was a series of well planned, intricate puzzles that came together for a fun and addicting experience!

Our family of four had such a wonderfully novel experience in the Mardi Gras Room this morning that we promptly reserved another appointment to the Escape My Room for the same evening and for the following day! This second experience in the Inventor's Attic was a successful escape, but it was definitely a much more difficult mystery than our initial attempt in the Mardi Gras Room. If you're methodical, have a keen sense of logic, and love solving puzzles, you'd love these rooms! For a family of four, going to two rooms today (and to the third room tomorrow), it quickly became a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it! Our family will remember this vacation as one of the best because of how much we enjoyed this experience! Nathaniel, our host for the Mardi Gras Room, was the consummate entertainer and had the perfect personality for this dramatic venue. Robert was more serious and equally wonderful as our host. The entire setup with antiquities and well designed clues made it so fantastic! Bravo! The only thing that is recommended is that if your party has four people or more, is to opt NOT to share because otherwise you might be paired up with people you don't like, who monopolizes all the clues, and ruins your fun, as was the case for our third room, the Jazz Parlor. The joy of escaping this room in record breaking time was diminished by the lack of collaboration and cohesiveness between our three groups. Definitely opt to be by yourselves if you already have four people in your group! Otherwise, everything was super, fantastic, great, awesome, the best! We heard that there will be a fourth room! We are already making plans for a return visit next year!!

When you go into Escape My Room, you are not only going into a brilliantly designed escape room, but also going back in time into a bygone era, one filled with antiques, intricate details, and fully in character gamemasters. The two games I have done here, Jazz Parlour and Inventor's Attic, were both beyond immersive games filled with brilliant set design, engaged and tactile puzzling, and immersive storylines. The lobby, just the lobby, is far more detailed than most escape rooms, even reasonably good ones. Before your mission, you may explore little eccentricities in three cozy rooms each invoking the spirit of the city brilliantly. In addition, due to an unfortunate incident involving being prepared with some particularly rowdy and unruly children, we were compensated with a free game, a gesture of kindness uncommon among the escape room industry. If you are in the area, visit Escape My Room. You will experience beyond authentic, brilliant escape room for all levels of experience.

Read up when you go (you should go), have a team strategy (someone focus on puzzles, someone gather data, someone to manage the data and keep things organized - but not be the boss). Remember that a lot of what you see are NOT clues; it's up to you to figure out which are. Expect a challenge and you won't be overwhelmed. We got into it and solved it... can you? This place went all out, strange stuff and lots of period decor. Highly recommended!

This escape room experience was terrific. We all played Sherlock Holmes! My group enjoyed it immensely. The rooms were really well decorated and the story the hostess told us was interesting. You will learn a little about New Orleans and you will be amazed at how fast the time goes by. This is not a scary experience, ie nothing will jump out at you and we all felt very safe. It is near the Superdome and there was free parking. We will be back to play the next room they open.

From the minute you walk in it’s like living in an I spy riddle book. There are mysteries at every turn and puzzles to uncover and solve, even in the entry room! I don't have a basis for comparison, but I will say that these were very well-run and they really did try to make it an experience. Unfortunately, we failed to complete either room, but we were a lot closer the second time around. If you want to take a break from the bars and general "hoopla" of New Orleans, give this place a try - they really do make it worthwhile and it's entertaining. I'd go again!

This is my second time going to Escape My Room. The first time was with my parents, and this time with a group of 7 for a birthday. They had moved to the bigger location since my first time, and it has a better feel now when entering the building than before since it looks like you're walking into an antique perfume shop. They have more rooms now, so next time I will be asking for a different room for a new experience. I'm really impressed with the puzzles complexity and how well they used sensors and switches to make things happen when you've solved a puzzle. It startled a few of us when a drawer popped open after playing a certain instrument. I like how they've improved on giving out clues; at the old place, a person used to give clues out over a speaker, which I now realize it takes you away from the experience. They now give clues out through an old monitor, which makes it feel more like another puzzle and adds to the experience. We ended up escaping this time, and I think it helps if everyone talks as they search the room, and be open about all ideas. I will definitely be going back!

It was intricate and immersive with a fun theme and backstory. With six people, some of us ran out of things to do near the end, but some of us had either completed escape rooms before or were experienced with the types of puzzles we encountered - YMMV.

After completing and becoming hooked on these games in another city I was passing by, I jumped at the opportunity to test my wits again in New Orleans, this time with two other friends. The puzzles and overall atmosphere of the venue were so thought out that we went twice in our short 3 day stay in NOLA, savoring the chance to partake in both the Jazz Room and the Mardi Gras Study. We were fortunate 'to escape both, but not without a few pointers from our guide. Compared to other Escape the Room type venues, this one was exquisitely cohesive, and compliments well the history and culture of New Orleans. The rooms were challenging, but fair. TLDR: This is not a cookie-cutter experience. The owner/creator has invented something entirely new and wrapped it in the mystique that New Orleans naturally carries. The sheer originality of Escape My Room is impressive beyond words. Even if you have been to a similar Room-Puzzle in another city, what you will find here is something entirely its own and in an incredible way. I had no idea what to expect from this experience. I have heard from friends who've gone to places like this in other cities, and all I had been told was, "It's like that old game Myst, but live-action." That in and of itself was enough to interest me, but the description doesn't do it justice. In my wildest dreams I did not expect Escape My Room to be as overwhelmingly awesome as it is. I was on a trip to New Orleans with a few friends, and we were meeting a few more friends while we were in town. The entire plan for the 3 days while we were in the city consisted of going to amazing restaurants and bars. While there is nothing wrong with a trip filled with good food and drinks, I wanted to do at least one thing that broke the mold. Whether that be a museum, or a live show, or something else. What I settled on was Escape My Room. Out of my seven friends on the trip, only 4 or 5 were really interested in going with me, but the outliers begrudgingly came along with the group. Within five minutes of being locked in the room, everyone (outliers included) were absolutely enthralled. I would love to speak about the Room and what made it so mind-blowing specifically, but I don't want to ruin any surprises for other first-timers. Suffice it to say, from the moment you walk in the front door of the business, before you even set foot in the Room, the ambiance is set and the fun begins. I can, without any reservations, say that Escape My Room was one of the highlights of our trip, and it was unlike anything I've ever done. I will finish my review by just listing a few spoiler-free tid-bits about our time there: -We chose to do the "Jazz Parlor" and had an amazing time, but I've actually been told that the "Mardis Gras Room" was the first room they opened and is an even better experience (since they've had more time to streamline it). I can't wait to make another trip down, and I will definitely be trying out the "Mardis Gras Room." -We were able to escape the room, but only just barely before time ran out. There was another bonus puzzle that we had started solving but did not get close to really figuring out. In other words, there is replayability even if you want to go to the same room a second time. -As I said above, there was more than one person who was hesitant (to say the least) about spending their time and money in New Orleans doing a live-action-mystery-puzzle. Not only did they end of having a great time, but one of those people was by far the most engrossed in solving the puzzle by the time that our hour was drawing to a close. So, if you have some friends who are on the fence, drag them along anyway and watch them totally lose themselves trying to solve the mystery. FINAL NOTE: We had one person in our group who is very claustrophobic. She made it through just fine. If you or someone you know is thinking about going but claustrophobia is an issue, just remember that the room is bigger than you might expect at first glance, and there is a big red button by the door that you can ring to be let out. By no means are you truly "trapped" in the room.

Truly in-depth decor, wonderful staff, and engaging puzzle design made for an absolutely satisfying experience for all involved. They put sooo much thought into the riddles and puzzles you can't help but be amazed. So I heard about this place after getting into a great conversation with the owner of a roadside attraction oddities museum in Abita Springs LA called The Abita Mystery House. The props were good but some were worn out and lighting was very poor and lights on a couple of props did not work, so it was not clear how to read directions or work some of the equipment.. Like a lot of escape rooms, there were marks on a lot of the props where it's apparent what people have tried in the past. We had to ask for numerous clues and even with help from the attendant we didn't see what to do because of poor lighting. The room was in a part of town where the streets were torn up so when we got there we turned and left because we thought were in the wrong pkace. There was not good signage outside. overall 3 out of 5.
