I absolutely love these candles! I especially love how they all pertain to readers. And they are safe candles too, which is very important to me. My favorite is Oxford Library and Old Books but you can't go wrong with any of them. I prefer the 16oz jars to the small ones which you can hardly see burning because it isn't glass. I'm a returning consumer because of how beautiful these candles are!

My love of Frostbeard Studio started about four years ago when my sister gifted me a candle called Bookstore in honor of my late husband who LOVED to read and loved the smell of books and bookstores. I instantly fell in love with the combination of scents they create. I love how different they are and how you can somehow smell each individual scent in one whiff. My favorite smell mode is the wax melts. I make multiple purchases each month, so eager to try new scents and also to try ones that they bring back for a limited time. I currently have 60+ wax melt containers that I devote an entire drawer to. There’s nothing I love more than getting ready to read and picking out a scent to match my reading mood. I’ve become a collector. I love the packaging and the colors of the wax. I know that sounds weird but it matches my OCD perfectly. The shipping is always fast and I love that you can get “pages” for purchases to redeem later for rewards. I’ve got many friends and family hooked on them as well. I have a coworker that is really sensitive to smells and usually gets headaches but these don’t bother her at all. Thank you Frostbeard for always giving my stories the perfect scent!

I found this incredible company by accident and decided to try them out. That was probably 3 years ago, and I have ordered exclusively from them ever since. The scents are unparalleled, the inspirations behind them are clever and charming. Personally, I buy the wax melts, because they seem to have a better scent throw, and last longer than the candles. That being said, I do also have a lot of candles because of the monthly subscription, which debuts a new scent each month. Do your home a huge favor and let it smell fantastic every day. ✌🏻

Just like a weathered bookstore with blends of mahogany, leather, and coffee. A perfect Christmas present for my father which holds old bookstores very close to his heart.

The scents are some of the best things I have ever smelled. They don't just smell good they create a wonderful atmosphere. The old forrest, reading in the cafe, and bookstore are some of my favorites. It feels like you are sitting in a forrest, Cafe, or bookstore. It's crazy how they captured that in a scent! I Love These Candles! As someone who gets severe headaches from scents I am so happy that I found this company and their candles that I can actually burn. Even the strong scented ones don't induce headaches which to me indicates that Frostbeard uses high quality ingredients. The scents are so wonderfully creative. I have yet to find one from them that I truly dislike. I've purchased about 20-30 different scents and I have loved every single one. My favorites are the woodsy, earthy, rainstorm -related scents and Frostbeard does them so well! I would highly recommend this company and their candles!

Absolutely love this place. I bought the 8 ounce Oxford Library and I'm so happy with it. I had it burning in my upstairs office way in the back of the 2nd floor of the house and my wife could smell it downstairs when she came home. It's such a clean, leathery smell.

I got the Book Store wax melts as a bit of what I assumed would be a safe bet. It smells fine; and I really, really want to like it more than I do. Unsure if I just got a wonky batch or something because it's supposed to smell like mahogony, leather and coffee. I've had a lot of these scents in different forms over the years respectively, but this one really just smells like coffee and an undernote of plastic/chemical smell. I hate to leave a 'meh' review because I really just think I may have had a bad batch but yeah. Absolutely no hints of mahogony or leather at all. I love this company, service was great, prices are great, shipping was fast. I'm considering that maybe the wax was poured into the plastic packaging while still too warm and maybe it just picked up that scent? Just a guess, but honestly a little disappointed. I'd like to try more in the future, but I'm a little worried by this. Really does smell like burning plastic and coffee. :(

Thee perfect candle for book lovers! I fought digital for the longest time because I liked "the feel and the smell of a book." This candle takes care of the smell part of that. I haven't bought candles for myself from any other shop since at least 2014. And I go through a lot of candles. I honestly don't know of a better way to communicate how delightful their various candles are. Shipping is always fast and thoughtful (from the packaging to the stickers I requested recently). I really don't know what home would smell like without the Frostbeard line of candles and I'm very glad for it. From college apartments to my current condo the scents of home (yes, that was a horrible pun) have always been provided by this wonderful little shop. Update: Finally made contact with customer service after pestering them on social media. Sounds like there was some goofy email filtering going on. I have had my damaged/missing candles replaced as well as given a partial refund. The candles are still amazing! I would just be wary of the current shipping company they are using. Favorite scents: Reading at the Cafe and Halfling Hills Candles are great. But unfortunately I have had the same experience as other reviewers. My most recent order showed up with missing and damaged candles. Tried giving Frostbeard the benefit of the doubt thinking the shipping company they are using is awful. But I emailed and left comments through their website almost a month ago with no response. Will definitely update my review if my order is resolved without a credit card dispute.

Well... Okay. My order was resent after being lost in the mail, so here is my updated review. I would knock off a star for the spotty customer service, but we all literally have our bad weeks or days, and I am not going to fault someone for being human. That aside, the real review. Now that I can review them, these scents are the bomb. I not even joking around. They're subtle in palate, and when you melt the melts, they last a good long time. My house goes from mundane to something just short of magical when the titillating scents hit the air and disperse. Each one I have smelled so far, and the one currently melting in my wax warmer, is enticing yet not overpowering. Some wax melts sting your nostrils or eyes with whatever they put into them, but not Frostbeard. They seemingly melt and burn rather clean and don't trigger my spouse's allergies. Give them some patience and time with shipping and customer service. They're a growing business with some growing pains that they're working out.

Wonderful handmade product. I initially found these products on Amazon but I really wanted to smell the candles, so I'm very lucky I only live 15min away. They smell exactly what I had hoped for. I got two candles as a gift for a book lover friend, they were shipped quickly and packaged carefully. They didn't make it to my place initially and were sent back by USPS, but that was likely because of weather problems, they quickly put the package back in the mail and they got to me within 2 days! I am in love with this candle that I got from Frost beard studios! It is the rainy day reads scent, and it is completely awesome! I burn it on my nightstand while I’m reading at night, and if I go in and out of the room I can totally smell it when I come back in, and I can smell it while I’m sitting by it! A lot of candles the scent is not very strong in the air, but whatever they use in these really is very strong and I can smell it really well and it smells wonderful!My only complaint is that it was a little pricey because of the shipping costs, but if all of their candles smell as good and strong as the first one I bought, I will be buying many more frost beard studio candles!

These candles are amazing! Shipping is fast, the box they're shipped in is perfect, and the smells are unique. I've been hooked on Oxford Library, Bookstore, and Winter Keep for years, now, and get excited to try new seasonal scents. I typically buy the tarts to try the new scents and then buy larger candles for my favorites. Each small, square tart lasts for a few days of constant melting before I switch it out to renew the scent and they're strong enough to make the house smell great without being overbearing. Overall, very cozy scents and excellent communication regarding tracking, shipping, and follow up.

Uniquely nerdy scents that smell incredible. Whether your looking for sweet, earthy, or the scent of an antique library, they’ve got you covered. Definitely worth the price and the soy candies last much longer than your typical wax. Frostbeard never disappoints. Their max melts are perfect for tea candle burners and they fill the room with a scent that is pleasantly strong but not at all overwhelming. I was worried Divination Classroom would make everything smell stuffy but it had a wonderfully herbal (thanks, earl grey!) and almost linen smell. Absolutely perfect. Oxford Library is clean and cosy. Literally cannot recommend this company enough. I have candles from them, too (Old Books and Rainy Day Reads) that I also HIGHLY recommend if you want something with a flame. Love, love, love!!!

Always ship on time, and the scents are so unique and fragrant. They aren't too strong as to be nauseating, and they aren't so weak that you can't smell anything. Perfect for a single room. Used the wax melts. Been shopping here for years, and likely the only candle company I will use from now on.

I can't tell you how much I love this company! I've gotten several candles here both for myself and for gifts, and they are all winners. I even subscribed to their candle of the month club about a year ago, and I'm always very excited to receive my shipment around the first. One thing I've learned is that the candles tend to complement each other- it's not like a lot of scented candles where you can only burn one scent at a time. The scents are not overwhelming, and are sort of scent families that god well together. Granted I've learned this because I have tons of them, but the descriptions on the page give you good info about what would go well together. Their seasonal candles are great and this is a terrific place to get gifts if you're shopping for an avid reader. Highly recommended!

What fabulous candles! The smells are wonderful, different, and never overpowering. The quality of the candles is superior and they last a long time without loosing their smell. The "Reading at the Cafe" candle will convince you that you have just baked chocolate cake and made a fresh pot of coffee. Well worth the cost if you can afford it!

I love Pemberley Gardens, which I purchased for the second time. Rooms smell like roses, but not too sweet or cloying. More like have a rose bush in the house. Rainy Day Reads is a great find — subtle and long-lasting. The ginger and lavender combination works wonderfully. I still miss Scottish Highlands, which is so far my favorite, but these two are both awesome.

Loving these candles. They are making the quarantine/working remotely so much more pleasant. (I can't burn candles at the regular office). Shipping is fast and customer service has been fabulous. I had an issue a couple of weeks ago with a Screenplay candle not burning properly. I wrote in for advice and ended up with a replacement candle! The scent of the candles aren't very over powering, rather light and fragrant. I love the names of the candles. They almost have a tongue-in-cheek humor about them. I highly recommend their products. I've purchased a sampler in the past to find my favorites. I still love the Old Book. It smells like I'm surrounded by books and immersed in a classic first edition.

I ordered the Through the Wardrobe candle. It arrived very promptly. I love the scent. It does start out very subtle but it lingers nicely. It's very fresh and crisp. I've used it for several hours already and have barely made a dent in it so i am confident that if anything, Frostbeard has underestimated the hours of usage. Amazing candles and waxes. Seriously. My wife is the candle person in our household, and I found Frostbeard online when looking for a good stocking-stuffer for her. She's a librarian, so these scents were all right up her alley. Not only do they have weird and "out there" scents like Old Books, but they smell amazing! And they maintain the essence of each scent as well. You can really smell each of the "ingredients", and it truly transports you to wherever/whenever/whatever the candle's namesake is, whether it's Christmas at the Burrow, Sherlock's Study, the Oxford Library, or Rainy Day Reads. They all Have that "essence" to them. It's a bit tough to describe. I really didn't think I would like the Old Books scent. Who would? But I bought it because I was so curious, we smelled it before burning it, and I thought, "Oof, yep, that smells like old books alright. What'd I get myself into?", and then we burned it, and it was AMAZING! It's honestly become one of my favorites. So far, we've burned probably 6+ candles and every one of them were an absolute delight. They are a bit pricey, but I honestly cannot say that it's dissuaded me from coming back and buying more for her (and me) though. They're just that delicious smelling, and so pleasant. Seriously. Give them a shot. I can pretty much guarantee you won't regret it.

That‘s where my candle odyssey began... The mobile website of Frostbeard is not optimized to navigate the shop easily. I actually had to order from my computer to properly get to the desired items. Also, shipping outside the US is crazy expensive (I shipped to Berlin, Germany). I ordered candles worth 30$. For shipping, I had to pay 10.10$ (a third of the product price!) Because the worth of the package (this includes shipping price) was more than 22 € (which would be tax & customs free in Germany), I had to collect my package from the customs office, spend gas money on the trip and an hour in the customs‘ waiting room + pay 7€ tax on the package. A lot of hassle altogether for 5 small candles...
