Reviews of Little Rock Zoo
Miranda Snow
Lots of beautiful animals that have huge habitats or multiple medium sized ones they can move between. The zoo keepers are super friendly and obviously love the animals, happy to answer any questions. Even during the day, the glow event was really cool. They also had multiple play grounds throughout for kids to run around. Only downside is I wish there would be signs for areas that are closed and the train ride was disappointing for what it was
David Pyle
Disclaimer, my wife and i are zoo enthusiast, and visited this zoo along with 6 others this same week.
The little zoo with a good selection of animals. Low entry cost, and wide pathways make navigation pretty easy. There are two distinct areas, one half is older and the other half is newer. Even the older side was good.
Good:
entry price
Multiple viewing areas for most exhibits
Wide pathways
Good selection of animals
Easy parking close to entry
Bad:
They opened 5 min late
We waited 25+ min (after they opened) to get in
There was a constant line to buy tickets all day
Signage for animals off exhibit could have been clearer
Overall they would have gotten 5 stars, BUT there is no excuse for me spending 25+min in line to buy tickets and enter the zoo. We were not even at the back of the line as we had arrived early. I would expect some may have waited close to 45min. We did two loops in about 3 hours. You should plan 2 loops as some animals will not be out or visible at all times.

We visited on a sunny warm day following a bad cold snap. Almost all of the animals were out and enjoying the day. The zoo has made quite a few changes since our last visit and everything looks great. Animal enclosures are clean and most give the animals a lot of space and enrichment. The best was Kevin, the zoo's baby Black Rhino! He is ADORABLE! THE Penguins we're very social and vocal with visitors and made for a very enjoyable experience.
Dana Marie Martin
There was a Heat Advisory in effect from 8:00AM - 2:00PM on the Saturday we strolled around the Zoo! We cooled off in the Cafe Africa and bought Jungle Punch. The Zebras were outstanding, and we enjoyed the little Asian Elephant. We saw no bears except for the little Bear Statuette at the entrance to the Bear Exhibit. The Penguins were adorable, and we had a most enjoyable time there!

The little rock zoo is one of the best zoos ive been to. It is very family friendly and the zookeepers and rest of the staff and volunteers are the best. Our sons favorite zookeeper is Sarah who goes around each time we see her telling our kids about the animals. Highly recommend coming for a visit or getting a membership.
Bro Jones
Great weather and a nice place to walk around with a couple of young folks. The paths were nice, even, and not too steep for a disabled guy to walk. Unfortunately many of the animals were napping during the warm afternoon time. I suggest going when the animals are more active so that you are more likely to see them all.
Lynley Turner
Our visit impressed us so much, that we left with a family membership! I've been to this zoo a handful of times over the last decade, and today I was blown away by the improvements! Many animals have much larger habitats, trash/recycling can everywhere to help keep things clean, hand washing and sanitizing stations anywhere you look, multiple play grounds for all age kids (& wheelchair accessible)... There is always room to improvement & expansion at any zoo, and there were several projects underway. The best way to support the zoo is to go visit! Thanks for the wonderful family day Little Rock Zoo!

This is a nice zoo. We had a morning free and decided to stop by and ended up spending several hours. It was hot (August) but there was a lot of shade. There were a wide variety of animals including lions, gorilla, orangutan, rhino, cheetah, elephant, zebra, and ostrich. We were lucky to run into the keeper for the rhinos. He told us quite a bit about their history at the zoo. Another zookeeper near the elephants spent a little time with us too which we enjoyed.
Worth a visit!
Mike Wing
This was a great little zoo! There were a few baby animals that we got to see while we were there. The food was not bad but pretty expensive, $50 for three burger meals that came with fries and a drink each.
Overall great place to visit.

Took my son on his birthday and he LOVED it. We ran into someone leaving out who had an extra ticket for free entry, so that was $10 less we had to spend. They’re doing a little construction but that’s easy to overlook. They have a playground with an indoor cafe, a gift shop and even a train ride for the tiny tots.
Aaron Thomas
The zoo was great. I've been to bigger zoos but this zoo has its own charms. All the animals looked very happy and after talking with the zoo staff, you know they care very deeply for them. Only complaint is how small the gift shop is. They need more merchandise.
Brandy Boyd
We went specifically for the zoo lights lantern festival. It was well laid out and not at all crowded. The zoo itself seems nice from what I could tell in the dark- enough so that I would like to go back and visit the zoo itself when it's not so cold. :)
M P
The Little Rock Zoo is so much better than it was in the past. There are better and cleaner cages. The animals look better and the general atmosphere is pleasant. I suggest purchasing an annual membership. We will be going often this summer.
Diwrnach
I haven’t been to this zoo since I was a kid myself. It’s been at least 20+ years since my last visit.
It’s not exactly as I remember it. I’d say for a city the size of Little Rock it isn’t bad. It isn’t in the same league as Memphis or St. Louis of course
They have made several improvements. I did see lots of exhibits closed though due to animals being sick/injured.
I’d say you could easily make a day of it if you bring your younger kids. There is a decent amount to see and do, several play areas for the kids to play and interact as well.
All in all I recommend going if you have younger children, adults and teens would probably like the bigger zoos over this one. I do hope they can get some additional funding to continue making improvements.
Ashley Smith
We absolutely loved visiting here. I honestly think this was one of the best zoo's I've ever been to. I really enjoyed how the animals are very easy to see.
Lorena Barrera-Shankle
We had an amazing time with the family!!! GLOW WILD come and experience more than 30 lantern displays artfully placed throughout the 1.4-mile paved walkway throughout the Zoo’s 33- acre park. All ages will have fun and perfect scenery to takes pictures with your loved ones...make sure to check the weather and bundle up for a great family time!!

We decided to spend my daughter's 7th birthday at the Little Rock Zoo while we were visiting Arkansas & it was a wonderful experience. There was no wait to get in, basically had the zoo to ourselves and the few other visitors we did run into were all very nice & friendly.
My daughter had a blast visiting all the different animals; the gorrillas, elephants, rhinos, and zebras were some of her favorites. And we even saw razorback pigs! Some animals had to be moved indoors because of the heat, but we didn't mind at all. The animals appeared to be well taken care of & the zoo itself seemed to be well maintained. There were plenty to see & do at the zoo!
We stopped at the Cafe Africa for a bite once we got hungry. Food was good (had vegeterian options which was great!) and reasonably priced, but what impressed us the most at the cafe was the friendly staff!! Whoever was working at the cafe on Thursday July 7th, you guys rock! They went above & beyond to make my daughter feel special for her birthday & we really appreciate them for doing that.
We've gone to plenty of zoo's all across the country but this one was definitely one of my favorites. Little Rock zoo, you guys rock!!! 😉
David Engle
The GloWild event was way beyond what I expected. Pictures don't do it justice... You have to see it to experience it. I read that there were a couple dozen displays and thought it would be a cute, fun walk with the family... there really are lights and displays throughout the hour-long walk. It's an instant Christmas-time tradition for us!
Nadia Parker
This was my first time visiting Little Rock zoo and it was just okay, I have been to better zoos. As soon as we walked in it looked kinda deserted. All of the restaurant kiosk were closed which was very annoying since it was very hot and my friends and I would have definitely bought a cold drink. Some of the animals looked sad which made it kinda depressing. Also a lot of the exhibits didn’t have any animals in it such as the gorillas so that was disappointing. The gift shop was over priced as well as the ticket for the experience, and the carousel needed to be renovated. There was also no shows or any exciting things happening, which is weird since I visited it during the summer. Lastly it felt like a maze, it was not a lot of signs to point you to different exhibits, we had to go back to the front to ask for a map because we did not know where we were going.
Lori King
We had a great time. We seen just about all of the animals except for one(the bears), they didn’t come out. But overall was a great experience and My kids had smiles the whole time we was there. Not only did we see animals, but they have play areas for the kids as well. So you if your feet hurt from walking, just have a seat and let the kids play for awhile. if you’re hungry or thirsty, they have food courts with great food and also vending machines with drinks. We had bbq nachos that we’re good. We recommend this zoo to others who want to have a family outing.
Wendy Smith
It was a beautiful day. Most of our experience was wonderful. However, lots of exhibits were closed. Reptiles and aquarium were locked down, the train was out of order, several out door enclosure were under construction. Over all okay but would like to see all of the animals.
Austin Beachler
I have been to several zoos around the country and this has been one of my favorites. The staff is always friendly and have a good selection of animals. The baby tigers are a can't miss.
J T
I've always enjoyed taking my daughter to our zoo when she was young. We made fun, long-lasting memories there. We've visited the zoo since I was a little girl. (Pictured) I think it's important that everyone continues to support our local zoo in Little Rock. And one of these days I am confident I will be visiting the zoo with my grandchildren. I look forward to it. Oh and you have to ride the train that meanders throughout the zoo. It's a great way to see lots of animals.
Dajha Eaglin
My husband and I went on Saturday! We was walking around the zoo for like 2 hours this zoo is a good size. had free tickets. We had fun and we enjoyed ourself 🥰!
Heather Jones
This is such a cute place! It was inexpensive and interactive! My 3 year old loved every bit of it! She even got to milk a (pretend) cow!
The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms were terrible. They smelled so bad!
Joel Rodriguez
Nice, clean and organized. Areas were blocked off to keep everyone on the path for the light show going on currently. They did a great job!
James Cummings
I came for the fund raiser light exhibit. It was way better than I expected. It took me about an hour to see everything. I recommend this for families before the exhibit ends.
Alicia Campion
It was a beautiful day at the zoo! Took 3 hours to get through the entire zoo, and that included a train ride, carousel ride, and 3x at the playground.
MAYRA GALVAN
It was beautiful 🤩 this weekend. Can wait to buy tickets for Glo Wild! Behind all these beautiful colors there’s a lot of hard work. Thank you all for making our zoo trip very memorable.
Bill Causey
We came to the Little Rock Zoo for the Glo-Wild holiday walk through. This is a good for kids of all ages and adults. Good time for everyone
debra larsen
Very nice zoo. They are getting ready for the Christmas holiday so there are alot of unexpected exhibits.
Shawna Wegner
This place was a real hit or miss for me. My husband just took me here for my 33rd birthday. I had never been to a zoo before. The animals were amazing!! We went right when they opened on a Tuesday, and most of the animals were out and easily seen. They had a lot of closed exhibits, not just birds. Their website said Monday and Tuesdays are the least busy, well maybe Monday is but the Tuesday we went on was pretty busy, busses of students and a lot of family's with kids even though school is in. The Cafe Africa is the worst. The food was hard old and terrible tasting. I got sick off of the BLT. The employee spent the entire time acting like we were bothering her, and you had to pay $2 for a CAN of WATER. Some of the animals seem like they may need better care, like the flamingoes. The gift shop is a joke and shouldn't even count as a gift shop. The variety of merchandise is very low and extremely expensive. Doesn't look well made either. All in all, the animals were awesome and lots of them, and they are the only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1.
Piper Gilbert
In the 1970s and 80s, the LR Zoo was a dismal place where big animals were in small concrete and iron cages for years. They have vastly improved exhibits and focus on having more relatable and manageable animals, including farm animals which city kids enjoy seeing. We went for a holiday light show with giant illuminated animals. Perfect family outing!
V M-D
The zoo hours are shorter than they used to be, closing at 4 p.m., the snack bar with the air conditioning inside closes at 2 p.m.
If you are not there before 11 a.m. you're not going to 90% of the animals. Very few of them are outdoors in this heat.
Also they drain and refill the water between noon and 2 which means the critters are even less inclined to be outside.
Dollar Day made it worthwhile as far as price goes ( they say it's best to make a reservation but it's not required unless they are at capacity) and the rental of a cart for my mother to drive around in certainly helped her and gave us a place to throw things in the front of the basket.
If you do get a cart though, you're pretty much going to have to pay attention because the people around you don't and you will have them cut in front of you even when you're going 15 miles an hour.
Parking was fine but you had to walk away so I dropped everybody off at the front and came back.
Elisabeth Mizner
Great zoo very clean and well kept animal inclosures. A great outing for the whole family
Alaura Little
We went to the Zoo Lights event and it was great! It doesn't go through the whole zoo, so it's easy to hey through before you get too cold.
Heather B
Very nice zoo and easy to navigate. A lot of the animals were indoors and not available for viewing. We spent about and hour and a half walking the entire zoo. Lots of benches and shaded areas to take a break and keep cool.
Molly Stroud
We love the zoo! Can get up close to the animals. A penguin came right up to us. Not many places you can get so close to the animals. Great time for kids. This zoo isn't overcrowded or too expensive either. Always a great time! Princess left her butterfly wings on that table in the gift shop, but they're such a nice zoo I have high hopes of them being returned.
Marie Huie
I wish I could spend all day visiting the various exhibits but when you bring the grands, you are moving a bit faster. My favorite is the Gorilla Exhibit but I enjoy them all.
Catrina C
The price is great, you get to see quite a bit of unique animals, the only ones we didn’t get to see were the bears, none of them were out. I feel that some of the animals don’t get enough access to water to swim in and play in. Or even sprinklers would be nice for the animals just because it was such a hot day out.
S P
Lights were really cool. Great experience for the grandson. Price is steep for what it is, when you go in as 3 adults and a small child, and that will be a serious consideration next year...
Ginger Beck
I enjoy the zoo but the slowness of the lines to get in and the difficulty of the layout makes seeing everything nearly impossible, especially for a small zoo. I know we can’t rearrange the zoo but perhaps large pics of gorillas or elephants with big arrows pointing in the proper direction will help. Drink machines were empty. Fish food dispensers were almost all empty. I wish we had more competition with Memphis and Dallas.
Randall Lottie
Awesome experience my 1 year old loves loves loves the zoo and to the person at the ticket counter thanx alot you really made our day!!!
Ivan Hernandez
Good experience, it seems that most of this zoo is pretty new. The and planning making ot bigger. Animals are so close to people. The train is 3 dollars 💸 por person and the ride lasts 3- 5 min. …
Pandy29 Monica Lausten
Was busy this morning around 10:30 am when we went. We all had fun walking around seeing all the animals they had out.
Adam Richardson
A wonderful place to spend the day with your family without having to break the bank. We go so much we decided to become members.
Tasha slye
It was okay, not my favorite but not terrible. Staff were friendly enough, overall everything was clean and animals seemed healthy, there just wasn’t as many animals as I’m used to with other zoos I suppose and my kids did feel they would have enjoyed the discovery museum more. We did go on a weekday and it seemed they were in the process of changing out most of the water? So those may have affected the quality of the visit.
Lindsay Jones
We had a blast at the zoo after a trip from Children’s! We can’t wait to go back and visit. The animals were happy for the most part and the elephants and petting zoo were a blast! The train drivers were so curtious and friendly. Truly such a nice little zoo. Make sure you bring quarters for the petting zoo.
Pamela Johnson
It was ok. When my husband & I visited I seen a lot of the places where animals should have been were not there. I think that if they had tour guides it probably would have made the visit much better.
Karisa Stinson
Nice small zoo. Very clean. Easy to navigate.
Aditya Roshan
Other than the zoo being next to the noisy highway, everything was great. Enough area for animals to roam free and humans to watch them. Some of the animals are really unique here and haven't seen them in any other zoo. On a plus size it is not pricey. 3-4 hours you can enjoy every section of the zoo. The best part was the farm and interaction with goats, donkeys and ponies.
Eric Jackson
Wonderful experience with beautiful and interesting lighting with the lanterns. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Stephanie Walker
The value of the entry price is wonderful. They have all the classics- lions, tigers & bears. The zoo staff is wonderful, so friendly and love to answer questions. The landscaping is gorgeous and well maintained. Exhibits are well maintained and animals appear happy & able to access privacy. Cafe Africa food is a bit overpriced, but I imagine it is to help keep cost of entry LOW and supports the animals & staff. Be sure to bring quarters to feed the fish and farm animals!
Emily Johnson
This is a perfect zoo. You and your family can see everything in one day & have the most incredible time. The crowds are sparse and you have a good amount of time to see each of the precious animals. Little Rock Zoo is perfect for toddlers to adults as well as family bonding ❤️
Geoffrey Vorisek
Most of the zoo was great. Lots of exhibits and the animals visible from multiple angles. The train ride was rather disappointing. Very short track and the conductor was going too fast. The ride was only 5 minutes long and a good portion all you see is I630.
val Steeves
Little Rock Zoo is a very good place to take the family, both young and old. The atmosphere is very nice and cheerful. There is a wide variety of animals to see. A place I'd definitely go back to should I ever be visiting Little Rock again.
Alicia Rene
Recently went for dollar zoo day. Staff was nice. The animals looked like they hated being there. The freaking chimp threw a rock at spectators. (Which was funny but sad because damn he must be annoyed). The animals were cute but the 3 stars because they just look depressed and lonely. The exit area was also confusing.
Stephen Gideon
We joined, family membership is awesome! Had such a great time.
Katy Kane
Loved the zoo! $12-$13 for adults. Reserve a spot before you go. We reserved ours just as we got to the gate on a quiet Friday afternoon but wod definitely plan ahead on weekends. Also not much food available inside so eat before or bring snacks.
We were happy to see large enclosures for many animals and promises for expansions to other ones as they raise funds.
Onyxstacia King
Enjoyed seeing the animals. Can't wait until the reptile house, bird house and the cafe open up. My husband was a little disappointed that he couldn't see more of the reptiles. Definitely will be back. Be sure to make reservations before going because of covid. The price to get in is about $13. That's not bad!
Robert Shaffer
Update- After my most recent visit it was discovered that the cafe is no longer serving most of it's menu due to a "burned up fryer" and no longer selling suviener cups. The menu was already limited before this now almost non-existent. I still love the zoo but makes it hard to support when there is nothing to buy.
Great place to walk with the family. If you go at the right times you will have a chance to see the animals being fed and can talk with their keepers. If you are one to go more than 3 times in a year the membership is worth it.
Claire Plauche
Some of the exhibits were a little confusing, but besides that..they had creatures there I had never even seen or heard of before.. keepers were very knowledgeable and were excited to teach..hands on..super comprehensive! Fantastic Primates and bear exhibits! The zebra and ostriches were hilarious.
Jeremy Jones
Actually, I didn't want to go. Mainly because I feel like we have a great zoo at home. But I was surprised and enjoyed the Little Rock Zoo and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. I was also surprised about the price for admission 12.95 per adult, what a deal. We will go back next visit.
Darrell Snowden
Despite being a member to the zoo for years to help support them, I hadn’t been in 3 years. I really like the changes that have been made in the meantime. The elephant enclosure is great and it was awesome to watch the baby tigers play.
Anonna Mouse
This is a pretty cool place. I like that they provide enrichment for their animals. The bird house was awesome. They have a photo strip machine with the zoo's logo and animal of your choice. I'd go again.
Kayla Bumgardner
Glow Wild 2023 was spectacular and my 2yo son LOVED it!
Fabien Mondun
I went there with my family. The zoo is well organized. Sanitizer almost everywhere. The helpers are friendly.
My kids enjoyed every bit of time we spent. In addition, the café Africa is clean and decent. The line can be annoying but once the food is ordered it takes less than 10 min to be ready. Customer service, top notch. Overall, based how happy my children were, you deserve a 5 star ⭐️.
Alex Bailey
It was a nice visit, got here right at opening, so not crowded at all. The zoo is on the smaller side, we did two full laps around the place and it took a little over 2 hours. Not all the animals were out, some of the exhibits were closed, and doing some construction in places. I was disappointed in the amount of trash in some of the animals exhibits, also seemed like a small space for the larger animals.
jennifer parker
We love the Little Rock Zoo. It's a wonderful place to bring the family on an outing and have a picnic lunch.
Jason Mullins
This was my first visit to the Little Rock Zoo. Some exhibits were closed due to Covid, but overall I feel like this zoo brings guests closer to the animals than most others. I very much enjoyed my experience!!
Tom McKay
Family friendly with cheerful, helpful staff. Very clean and orderly. Number of animals seems to be down from past years. They do a good job maintaining and updating the habitats.
Rho Rho
I wanted to get away for awhile to get my mind back clear and get my energy back up, so drove from Texas to Little Rock for Christmas and visited the zoo the day after Christmas and was among the 1st in the gate. So peaceful and crisp as it was early and it seemed like all of the animals were on their best behavior lol. Wish there was more variety, but it was cold and early so I could have missed some, but enjoyed myself. Zoo was clean and animals appeared well taken care of.
minnie h
The Glow Wild was lame. Go somewhere better, like Garvan Woodland Gardens or Downtown Hot Springs. Overpriced and under delivered.
The old school weird carousel was fun. That should be included for $20 per person. At least one ride. That made our trip.
The music was canned Christmas elevator music that had nothing to do with the display. You all need help with your planning and design.
The concessions were stupid over priced and a very limited gift shop.
I haven't visited the zoo, and at this point, I'm not sure I want to.
Jessie Hooks
Glo lights there were so pretty and fun!
Rosanna Snelson
They have a good variety of animals. It was a little complicated to keep track of where to go next, bc everything seemed to intersect with each other. We went in the winter, so many animals weren't out, but as the day progressed and it got up to 40 degrees, more animals came out. We spent about 2 hours there and enjoyed it.
Kevin Durden
The Little Rock Zoo may not be the biggest Zoo around, I can see it all in an afternoon, it's quite enjoyable. I got to oggle at otters, look at lions, and peer at penguins. That's one of the LR Zoo's best attractions. There were cute signs through out (Give the graphic designer a raise), and the Zoo staff was extremely helpful. The zoo also has many social distancing measures in place, allowing all to enjoy the Zoo, while staying safe. Overall, a great experience, and a good use of an afternoon.
Anthony and Lisa Flores-Vargas
Very knowledgeable staff. The animals here are more taken care of than some other zoos I've been to. The decorations for the season were mind blowing. It was clean and easy to navigate
Janice Hogan
You need to get there by 10:00 while it is still cool or most of the animals will be inside the caves or head in the shade and all you will do is walk around and look at empty grounds. Cooler weather they will be out side.
Alicia A
We have a family membership and love it. So far this year has been great at the zoo we went for their spring break events and had tons of fun. Lots of great food and games
Casually Relyt
It is a lot of fun. It's got multiple playgrouds for the kids to enjoy, the staff is friendly and answers any questions you have. The large indoor areas are closed right now due to COVID-19 restrictions, but it was still a blast, and there is always stuff to learn and fun to be had. My wife and I love going and taking our godsons with us.
Breanna Fletcher
None of the inside exhibits are open which really puts a damper on the experience. Half the exhibits we could see had no animals in it. It was really a waste of money. The only funny part was when the monkeys started to have relations lol. In front of the kids.
Hope Meyers
We went to the Glo Wild event - it was great! There were plenty of lanterns to see throughout. The moon swings were super fun to see. They had a smoke and bubble machine that was really different which kids and adults alike found cool. The train and carousel were available to ride for an extra fee. The train took you by a few very small light features and through a short tunnel of stringed lights. Our 1 yo enjoyed the train a lot. They had adult beverages available for purchase as well as soft drinks and fair type foods (funnel cake, corn dog, etc.). We felt it was definitely worth the money and a great way to be outdoors. We would go again for sure!
Thelva Balkus
Great exhibits, went during the day but their Glowild was set up and looked really good, too bad we were just driving through or we would have come back for that. Baby rhino was so cute. Nice big enclosures. Great place to visit and bring the kids.
Reed Chandler
I'm really impressed with the improvements that they have made over the years. We are proud members of the Little Rock Zoo and would highly recommend others to get their own membership - It's well worth the cost.
L Wilson
Employees (zoo keepers) are friendly and knowledgeable about the animals at the zoo.
They need more funding.
Nice park-like setting.
Children have several play areas to enjoy....
The tiger cubs are adorable! Also, they have a baby rhinoceros (Kevin) and he's looking very handsome.
Sean Buckels
Nice little zoo. Takes about 3-4 hours to walk the whole thing with a 9 and 3 year old. Lots of shaded areas for talking a break in the sun. Unfortunately, while we were there quite a few of the animals either weren't on display or were hiding because of the heat. There is a nice little petting area for the kids with goats and other animals to pet though.
Kayla Burchfield
This wasn't a bad zoo, but there was a lot of construction and a ton of exhibits were closed! But, I understand they're trying to improve things. I do recommend they update their signs, there were several times we were walking around in circles trying to determine where we should be.
Bjorn D
- A lot of water supplies to refresh yourself were broken or turned off.
- Seems to always have construction and (half of) the exhibits are empty because of it
- a lot of shops and other areas were closed too although they say they were open according to the website or entrance.
- pricey for what it is if you want to compare to the Memphis Zoo or St Louis Zoo.
+ It is a zoo... Its great to be able to visit one and the people that take care of the animals.
Joshua Booth
Large and well maintained. Not sure why, but when we went on a Thursday in July it was mostly empty, so we didn't run into much if anyone, so the animals were active and not hiding from noise etc.
The only downside is most enclosures use a chain link fence or net with not a lot of glass windows, so it makes it hard to take good photos, especially on a phone with no manual focus.
May Howard (Sissy)
I Love this zoo because of all the newer, more environmentally correct enclosures that have been built 4 each animal type. Especially love and adore the penguin enclosure. Lets U get super up close and personal with them and apparently they love it as well. They are drawn 2 their, "glass window" into our world as we are drawn 2 the same into theirs. Mostly clean zoo. Animals all look as happy as they could be in captivity. Don't see any signs of mistreatment or of being malnourished in any way. The price has gone up over the years, but I can see & understand the need 2 help get these animals into more natural environments as they have built/still are building. But, as a grandparent of 4, the annual price tag is awesome. Pays more than for itself in 2 visits a year. So I definately suggest joining the member's of the Little Rock Zoo, 2 reap all the extra m, "rewards" offered 2 it's members throughout the year.

The zoo is wonderful. The admission prices are comparable to most zoos I've visited. The rentals are a bit to high. Their gift shop has a nice mix of high and low cost items and even sells ice cream. The vendor stands are comparable to faire costs and have funnel cakes! Save money and buy drinks from the vending machines. This zoo is special needs friendly.

A great zoo for a smaller city. A membership is the best value if you have a kid or children or if you just really love animals. The staff is very friendly.
Nicholas Romano
Highly recommend getting a year pass if having a family because it's a great place to bring kids. Always appreciate staff who show kids snakes or other animals up close. Food truck food can be a bit overpriced, but tasty - can't say the same for the cafeteria food. Kids loved the penguins, but don't get fooled by "penguin parties" held outside the zoo. Trust me, it's no party. Anyway, the zoo is great!!

A truly wonderful resource for the community. It may not be the Bronx or San Diego Zoo, but the work the Little Rock Zoo is doing to provide activities for our region and their conservation efforts worldwide is incredible. With the growth they've experienced over the past few years I'm very excited about the bright future ahead for the Zoo and our town.

I love going to the zoo with my 6 month old daughter. She really likes looking at the animals *the ant eater is her favorite for some reason* and I like having a place to go that I know will keep her entertained and content. I have a membership so we go about once a week to see our animal friends. We hang out in the petting zoo area a lot and love the Boer Goats.
The only thing I'm a little bummed out about, and the reason I only gave it 4 stars, is that the giraffes and lions are gone 😢😢 They've always been some of my favorite animals. I understand they are renovating the lion's exhibit, so hopefully they'll be back soon.
The membership is also a good deal. I have the individual plus membership so I can bring one guest with me anytime and they don't have to pay a thing. And it was only $10 more than the individual membership. 👍
One more thing, I've learned the best time to go to the zoo is during the week when all the kids are in school and the majority of people are at work. It's so quiet and peaceful, and the animals seem more relaxed, too.
Dianna Baker
For a city the size of Little Rock it's about the ideal size. The staff was friendly; one zoo volunteer carried around a corn snake for guests to touch. It was a extra hot Saturday so many of the animals were inside their shelters and we couldn't view them; I'd say over half were not visible. The animals we did see were interesting.
The layout of the zoo was confusing, but thankfully we received free map with our paid entrance fee. The zoo was very clean and the animal dwellings were well maintained. There was a bit of construction in a couple of areas. Unfortunately, nearly all the concession stands were closed and that seemed odd for a hot Saturday afternoon.
There was a small train to ride but for additional cost.
Overall, I felt that the cost of an adult ticket of $12.50, child ticket of $9.95 for 3 and up, plus a $3 fee for parking was pricey for such a small zoo.
No outside food and drink allowed, except water bottles. So, it was unfortunate that most of the concession stands were closed as it was a tad inconvenient, if you didn't plan ahead.
All in all, we had a good time.
It's not on my "gotta go again" list.

We had a great time at the zoo last weekend. I hadn't been in nearly 30 years. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much it had improved. The new farm animal section was impressive and my 2 1/2 year old loved seeing the farm animals that we have on our farm. We are looking forward to the sensory garden opening up soon. The food is a bit pricey but it always is at places like this. All the animals were quite active and appeared to be quite healthy and happy. We will be visiting again very soon.
Dave Thomas
The Little Rock Zoo is somewhat smaller than the better-known zoos in Memphis and St. Louis, but they have a wide variety of animal exhibits. Over the last 20 years, the Little Rock Zoo has been renovating the exhibits to provide more humane homes for its animals. Like at most zoos, prices at the gift shop and cafe are steep, but that's one of the ways that all zoos pay for their upkeep.
Emily “Em” Rose
It was a lovely walk on a brisk day. A lot of construction and modernizing going on. We sat in the sun on a bench and relaxed. Restrooms were nice. Walkways were large and accessible. A nice spot was made for the kids to play.
Teresa Ternaprovich
With the advent of the internet zoos are no longer the educational tools they once were. Thankfully they are switching over to conservation messages for each of the guests.
Support your local zoos at holidays if you can.
Scott Madding
I’ll have to say it’s definitely improved from the last time I went. Large variety of animals that all looked clean and healthy. I would highly recommend going even tho the price is pretty steep. But if it goes to improving and upgrading I’m all for it! Our granddaughter had a BLAST!! 😃 …
Staci Jones
The animals were actually out, and about. They were doing more work to the zoo though, so some paths were blocked & we had to back track to come around another way. All in all it was a great day!
Amy Lightfoot
The one thing that I was surprised at was how clean the bathrooms were. The only thing I wld say that bothered me is we were starving, went to the Cafe & they wanted like $20 for a Chicken Sandwich, I expected it to be high, but not highway robbery!
Angélica Cuevas
Best zoo ever!! So many especies in there, even penguins. The only two things that I could complaint about are: that the food is not that good and that the train ride is short, it doesn't go around the entire zoo. Other than that is a very clean and open environment to go with the kids!
Emilee Baker
I don't know what to say, I love the Little Rock Zoo. It's a nice place to walk around (especially if you can manage to go in the daytime on, say, a Monday when most people are at work or in school). They've really put a lot of work into it since I was a kid and we used to come for field trips. It seems like they're constantly in a state of improvement and I'm pretty excited about some of the new projects they're currently working on.
The only thing that really disappoints me is that I've never managed to visit on a day when the lorikeet exhibit is open, but I'm sure that I'll manage later this spring.
Overall, I do wish that there were a few more animals or that the current animals had a bit more room in their enclosures, but the zoo is totally landlocked and there's not much that they can do in that regard. For the most part, I'm really pleased with the way the zoo uses the space that it has, however limited that may be.
I'll definitely return (many times), because I'm just a bit proud of our little old zoo and the conservation and education work that it does here in central Arkansas.
Nancy Isom
So impressed with the updating and expansion of the Little Rock Zoo! This was our first visit in 2 years and we were not disappointed. So much for the kids to see and do, i would not waste the money at zoo cafe. We spent $33 on burgers and the food was NOT good! Not worth the money AT ALL!
Everything else was amazing!
Abby Stout
Evacuated for Hurricane Laura here and the kids needed some enjoyment during chaos, we enjoyed all of it! With Covid-19 happening they made it easy and enjoyable for all ages! Definitely recommend😊😊 …
Cristian Barco
Bigger zoo than I thought! There were a great variety of animals, I just wish there were more of each.
COVID forced a lot of the cafés and animal shows to shut down, but luckily almost all of the exhibits are outside.
They had food trucks set up that sold shaved ice, frozen lemonade, and fried dough for about $4 each.
We captured great footage of the animals. Unfortunately, about 5 or 6 of the approximately 20 animals we visited were hiding, so we couldn’t see them.
Will definitely go next year, hopefully without COVID ruining things.
Keepfight 10
Amazing experience at this zoo! All the animals seemed well taken care of as well as happy. I will prewarn anyone visiting however that the food prices are expensive. Canned soda from the vending machines are 2.00, the food in the cafe is exorbitantly expensive as well. I highly recommend pre eating before you come or bringing your own food like we did. Other than the prices it is an amazing experience to share with family and children to say the least
Lori Frazier
I haven't been here in some years, so since it was my Mom's birthday I took her!! They have so many new exhibits and it's just amazing!! We went on a day where it was chilly so we were able to see a lot of the big cats that usually don't come out unless it's cooler. Will definitely be returning!!
SkurgeOfCaprica -
For the price you cant beat it, me and my four children, wife, roommate, and a family friend all went to little rock from fort smith to see the dinosaurs at jurrasic quest, and spent a hefty amount of money to look at poorly painted plaster. The following day we decided to go to the zoo, it was close, we were in town, and it's a life experience my children had yet receive. We spent half of what I spent at jurrasic quest and had 200x the fun. It was mid winter and a lot of the smaller primates, and the bears were in for the winter either to hibernate or to keep them in a more climate controlled place. And yet their was still tons to do and tons to see.
My only complaint if any, was a lack of water. Im not sure if the lack of water in the exhibits comes down to finances or the weather. Both are plausible, if budget Is the concern I would have gladly paid twice if not more what I did for the experience my children had here. Obviously seeing primates and things housed is complicated, but everything I witnessed here was humane, clean, and handled. I would just consider tackling the water situation. Sloth bears like to swim!
Kurtis Sutley
Always enjoy the Little Rock zoo. The people are friendly and helpful. As a photographer I wish they had more glass in the exhibits and they would clean it more often. Picky I know. Have yet to see the Rhino other than at a very long distance. Quite a variety of animals. Worth the price of admission or annual membership.
T. Bunting
It's a little better than the first time I visited this zoo a few years ago but still doesn't wow me. Some of the animals were not even out and their enclosures were too small for them. I can't believe they charge so much to see only half the animals and some of them look gloomy. I have been to the OKC and seen better enclosures and paid only $8 and no extra for parking. What are they doing wwith their parking and entrance fees? The only reason I went this visit is because it was zoo day for my daughter and her school.
Jamie Mitchell
Had a great time at this zoo. We went just after storms and the animals were very active. Only took one star away because several exhibits did not have animals nor signs stating that the exhibit was temporarily closed.
Adrian Neal
It's not the biggest zoo but I recently took my 4-year-old daughter and we had a great time. We went on a nice day and the animals were out, and several of them were very active. It's a good activity on a nice day, especially if you have little ones.
Kirtus Gaston
The animals were very active and appeared to be well maintained. One of the better smaller zoo's I have been too.
Charles Head
We took our son and had a great time. We spent about three hours and ran out of time before seeing everything. We'll definitely be going back.
Courtney S
It's awesome! It's big It's beautiful staff was super friendly they did a game and had huge corn dogs the animals were definitely taken well care of up and moving around my favorite is the penguins but I've always loved them
Branden Henner
Wonderful zoo and worthy of support. Friendly staff but would be nice if they modernized and didn't require you to show your physical zoo card for attendance. Surely they can look it up.
DeAnna Renno
This is a great little zoo which is very easy to find. We came from Memphis and we're able to go straight there with no problems. The zoo was clean and the enclosures were well maintained. The gorilla habitat was my favorite by far as it was very large but still easy to see the animals.
Kristin Gundt
Clean zoo but not much else going on right now except to walk around and see the animals that are there. Many cages empty due to multiple reasons. Limited interaction and educational events with zoo staff and animals.
suzanne buffington
Attended with school for end of year field trip. Clean, lots of shade and many food stands. Employees pleasant and helpful. Wish there were more water stations.
Tom T
Nice smaller zoo with wide walking paths and nice viewing areas for the creatures of the zoo. It was hot as could be so the misting stations around the zoo were very appreciated. Train was underwhelming as we were expecting a ride around the zoo but it was very short and there wasn't much to view. We would skip that next time.
Thanks for the nice zoo experience.
Lucas Steininger
We really liked the zoo alot. Not the biggest of zoo's that I've been too, but alot of cool animal too see. One thing I really liked is that you are closer to the animals then you are at alot of zoo's.
Hiliary O'Neill
This is a very cute zoo, reasonably priced, and with a big focus on conservation and rescue
Stacy Boudreaux
Very nice zoo, my son and I had a wonderful time.
Karen Stedeford
It was amazing I had fun but the food was not that great 😕 but other then that it's a great place to go with the fam
Amanda Swope
I did the glow experience and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun family night.
Leah Tyler
A great zoo. I never get tired of it. They take such good care of the animals and it has a great flow. Highly reccomend.
Juston Hargraves
stopped in little rock for the night, and was searching for things to do that evening instead of sitting around the hotel. came across the glowild event at the little rock zoo. i think the cost should be a little less in my opinion, but i understand it's for the cause. the hot cocoa, and adult beverages were a nice touch. also don't recommend the train ride for the additional $3 per person as you only really see the backside of the exhibit and half the ride is in the dark. use the money for more cocoa or a gift in the world market. i would still attend again if i had to do it over again.
Daniel May
Great zoo in the heart of Little Rock. Love the new farm exhibit and the old standbys like the big cats and bears. Amazing to see the gorillas and fun reptiles too!
Yoli Reynolds
It was so much more exciting when the kids were smaller. The girls (now teens) thought it would be fun . Instead it turned them into Animal Activists. It broke their hearts to see all the animals distressed due to confinement. Beware of the Parrot display that you're able to walk into. One but the fire out of me. By the end of the day we were hot and cranky. Next time I'll bring the grandkids on a cooler day.
Rob H
Is there any part of the zoo not under construction or disarray of some sort? UPDATE:4/22/21
Visited the zoo once again. Had a wonderful time, only complaint was the Penguins were locked inside because of Buffalo gnats. Their my favorite. Can't wait until they reinstall the quarter feed stations. We love feeding the fish.
Morgan Chase
Zoo was definitely doing the right measures for covid-19 but it only took us an hour and a half to go through the zoo. Didn’t see much of the animals.
Jody Ruloph
Great place for kids and adults always great to just walk and look. Animals love to pose for camera check photo
Ariel Hudgins
The zoo is alright be it high priced. We did visit in the hight of summer and it was very hot so the animals where trying to keep cool.
The staff was nice. I was hoping there would be an actual sit down resturant with more than just hot dogs on the menu but we did enjoy the visit.
Belkiz Montserrat
We liked it but needs maintenance and more life! Like open places to buy food, drinks! Needs life besides the animals. Staff were very kind and friendly
lesley barry
walking path is laid out well, but the animals seem like they aren't as well cared for as compared to other facilities. The living areas also seemed old and small without many manipulative for the animals to interact with. Our toddler really enjoyed it, though, seeing the exotic animals.
Chris Wittman
Had a wonderful time with the family. The zoo looks to be continually improving. Some sections are not fully open at the moment and some animals were not out. It was a really hot day when we visited and the misting stations around the zoo were fantastic to cool down a little.
Food at the zoo has a few options but could be better.
If going again I would skip the train. The ride was very short and we really didn't get to see much different from waking around.
Daniel Learn
Very nice zoo.. The monkey exhibits had better visibility of the monkeys than most zoos I have been to. The girlfriend normally gets a little depressed at zoos due to enclosure sizes and she mentioned that this zoo did not give her that feeling. Would certainly go again if I were in town.
Lewis Hendrix
It's okay, a little on the small side with around 100 or so animals. $12.95 for adults, 9.95 for kids and $3.00 for parking. Has a train and carousel both $3.00 a ride. It tooks us 2.5-3 hours to leisurely stroll through the whole place.
Janet Creasy
Weather was great and the farm animals exhibit was a favorite of my 4 year-old - thank you, Jessica! We were a bit bummed th qed t the penguins weren't there, but the baby gorilla made up for it!
Beau Blankenship
Good for a small zoo. Not too expensive (except the train ride was $3/adult and lasted about 3 minutes.) Some exhibits are empty from time to time but it's well laid out and additions and upgrades are in the works (May 2019.) Much better than it was a decade ago.
Jennifer Miller
This is one of the best zoos I've visited. Easy flat walk and lots of exhibits and really fairly priced compared to some. We spent a surprising amount of time in the bird aviary (same building as reptiles). We went there for our daughters Kindergarten Field Trip and had a great time. The Africa Cafe has a really cute jungle gym play area that the kids almost preferred over the animals. Go in the Spring! The weather was perfect.
Levi
Very nice animal exhibits. Friendly staff. Offered veteran discounts.
Christy W
A small but well loved and maintained zoo. Had a number of species not found at my zoo in Wichita. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Anna Arteaga
Kids had an excellent time and even got some great food from the Juicy J food truck!
Justin Naff (Master Hylian)
Always a great experience at this zoo.
Adam Askins
They really love it when you open the umbrellas in the gift shop and there's no sign that says they don't.
Chad White
The Little Rock Zoo is a hidden gem in the city. First, they are well staffed and you feel helped before you even enter the parking lot. Second, the animals seemed happy and healthy. We enjoyed watching lots of activity and interacting of the animals there. Third, the place was clean and well maintained. It is obvious that the zoo was constructed sometime in the 1930s, but even the old buildings are clean and kept nice. Overall, it was a great way to spend a few hours. Definitely worth the entrance fee.
Janet Randolph
Great fun! Enjoyed Cafe Africa. Employees all nice and friendly. Farm train was fun --nice "engineer"! Beautiful animals.☺
Hafsa Guven
You can see many different animals here. My daughter and i loved it
Aaron Urbanski
Took the kids on the carousel. You have to hold the younger ones because there are no straps or belts.
Courage Camp
The day we visited we saw either really sleepy animals or incredibly feisty animals. Which is what made this trip super entertaining. The male Chimp seemed angry at us and threw something at us multiple times. Thankful for the metal fence. He gave us a dance before throwing something at us. Pretty cool honestly. The young chimp was so fun swinging on their play area. Then the lioness was super "interested" in our Kinder son. Her "pawing" at the glass was quite the show! It seemed like a clean zoo. We enjoyed our time. But for us 1 trip to t bis zoo will be enough. Nothing makes us want to go back.
Marci H.S.
The Little Rock Arkansas zoo has definitely gotten better over the years and it will continue to do so. They are in the process of getting a giraffe inclosure where they can breed them which would be wonderful for the species and for us.
Relatively flat walking throughout, there is a train that goes past the flamingos, petting zoo, and big turtles, a carousel "over the jumps" antique which dates back to 1924 at least and is 1 of 4 in the world with an undulating track.
My personal favorite exhibits are the Apes, Ostrich and Zebras and the bird / reptile house. There are also 2 small playgrounds for children and a petting zoo featuring goats to feed, cows, mini horses, donkies and sheep.
Great weekend event for the family or a date. They also host a slew of events through the year.
Cindy Mahaney
Little Rock Zoo is okay. Lots of construction, which it needs. Good number of animals. Could use some tender care, but worth the visit.
Riley Raney
Absolutely love this zoo! My family and I have the best time every time we go 😀 …
Kris M
I was pleasantly surprised by the zoo. Nicely set up and the staff were present feeding the animals and interacting with the visitors to provide education about the animals.
Amy Marie Gray
This is always a great day out. New sites each visit.
Kenneth Hoyt
We really enjoyed our recent visit to the Little Rock Zoo. Going to the zoo used to be such a sad ordeal for me because most of the animals had concrete indoor and outdoor inclosures and the animals had no real quality of life. Little Rock Zoo has made some real progress and now almost all of the animals have nice large outdoor dirt and grass environments to spend their days. My favorite part was seeing the new 4 month old baby gorilla which I have included a couple of pictures of. Staff is all super friendly and very well knowledged of the animals. We are looking at getting a family season pass and starting to donate so we can help keep the Little Rock Zoo on track with all of the great improvements they are making.
Randall Curtis
The zoo is getting better. The cafe needs improvement. The reptile house is kinda sad but the new children's sensory garden is nice. Hopefully we can improve the bears location more as the baby bear grows up. I feel like the zoo is trying to get better.
brenda
We were there early in the day. Quite a few animals weren't out. Probably napping after pumpkin fun lol
Hannah Cooley
We went to the GloWild event. It was so much fun and not expensive. Great new tradition and memory builder.
Mary Willard
Our grandkids enjoyed the zoo. They are young and tire easily, so we only stayed a few hours. We decided to grab a quick lunch before leaving. It wasn't quick. Took about 35 minutes to get our order. Our order wasn't complicated and the restaurant was not very crowded. Not sure what the problem was.
Ashley Smoke
A lot of exhibits were closed. Felt more could be done with the overall design of the place. Sorta comes off as rundown.
C B
We were so fortunate to experience a behind the scenes tour of the elephant and rhino pens. The staff was very knowledgeable and professional. The zoo is charming and seems animal friendly with so many green naturalized environments. There are spacious walkways but it is not concrete everywhere . I hope to go again when in the area again.
Leonard McIntyre
Loved the train ride, the zoo has lots of animals I have not seen in a long time it was just great
Two Hoots
Great time at the glowild. Beautiful displays. However, for the price per person, we expected a bit more.
Al Shami
Fantastic zoo with lots of active and wild animals to see.
Hippie Chick
Great time but not like it was when I was a kid. I paid $8.86 for 2 fountain soft drinks. We got a season pass to save money. Definitely worth the extra if you plan on going more than once a year. It includes 4 tickets for the train, parking, and discounts on most other things inside.
R. Salazar
I enjoyed going to the Little Rock zoo. The next time I go I will take some water. It was extremely hot. They had some exhibits closed due to how the day was. Overall I enjoyed my experience at the Zoo. It was exciting seeing all of the animals they have.
G.A.88
There's a lot of pros and cons. Being the only big zoo in Arkansas I'd say it's a good place to visit but compared to larger zoos in our surrounding states it's not impressive. It's hit and miss with the animals. I've been twice in the last month and still not seen all of the animals. I don't know if some of the larger animals in small enclosures are depressed but the sloth bear is the only one we actually got to see up and moving around. The others were sleeping both times or inside where they couldn't be viewed. If your disabled or need a power chair I advise bringing your own. We were informed they had them available to rent but 30 mins after opening the 2 they have were already rented out and they only had 1 manual wheelchair available. They have several play areas for kids to play that were nice and even a couple hand sanitizing stations. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Over all its not a bad zoo but I wouldn't classify it as great either.
Ali Pliler-Lopez
Went to $1 day today and it wasn't too long of a wait to get in but parking was horrid! Food and drink prices were expensive but some of it was worth the price. They have misters for people to use to cool off but don't have enough of them in my opinion or enough water bottle filling stations or water fountains. Some exhibits were closed though sadly.
Rebecca Johnson
Wish they would do price adjustments in the winter. More than half the exhibits were closed.
We did have a good time just felt it was very over priced for the 1 hour we were there.
Bethany Divsalar
We visited the zoo on a school field trip. The zoo was clean and posted directions accurate. Most of the animals were inside so we didn’t see them but I don’t blame them. It was so HOT on that day. We still had fun. I would go back in the spring or fall.
Keith Doom
GloWild at the LR ZOO! Awesome lights for all ages to enjoy!!!
Lorria A. Eubanks
I was at the zoo today the Museum of Discovery had a flood over the snow ... and I was doing a paint spring break event for the Museum of Discovery and I was able to enjoy the zoo this is their temporary home until they get the Museum of discovery renovated from the repairs
Boonies65
Nice zoo... new exhibits are being added. You can spend most of the day here. Fun for all ages. Scooters are available to rent for those in need.
Mark Roth
Best adventure for me my wife an children, we had a blast an want to return over an over again, ty little Rock zoo!
Melissa Pearce
I have not brought my kids to LR zoo in about 13yrs because half of the exhibits would be shut down each time we went. Yesterday we brought several kids to your zoo, it was ok, still about half of the exhibits closed. There were many animals we didn't get to see. On a positive side, the renovations, added play areas are very nice. Everything was clean and I was impressed by that. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hoping next visit more exhibits will be open, that is really the only area I see that needs improvement.
Lisa Harris
Loved it! Haven't been in years....areas were shut off quite a bit cause of Covid-19 but overall a great time!
Tiffani igo (taffy)
The kids and all the adults that went loved it. Very pretty exhibits and the lions loved my littlest one lol the females ran up to the glass and kept pawing at it trying to reach her. It blew my youngest mind to see a real life elephant too. We are new to Arkansas so it was a great first experience, we will for sure be back again.
Lisa Short
Beautiful Glo displays but, very short. Got through it in about 30 mins. So, we felt the fee was alittle pricey for what they offered.
Sarah Goldman
Great zoo! Lots of different animals plus playgrounds for the kids! They have misters around for those Hot Arkansas Summer Days!!
Jessica Rivera
A well laid out zoo, with many animals to see. Updates are needed to some enclosures, but overall it is well maintained. I hope to see this zoo grow in the years to come, but for a weekend trip with family or friends, it’s a great place to see a large variety of animals.
Opp Milam
We go every year for Autism day. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The animals are well taken care of.
BobbyZ
Great zoo, you can also just visit Battery Street to see animals and that’s free
Andrea Munoz
Had a nice time with the kids and saw some awesome animals.
Anthony Parsons
Animals were amazing and some of the zoo staff were very friendly , I could not help to see a lot of trash in the park could use some cleaning up.
Erika Ultrino
Absolutely love the zoo. I bring my two girls all the time with our Zoo Pass. It's kind of irritating that some of the animals aren't out but can't blame the zoo, it's just been way to hot lately.
Aurora Ortman
Amazing zoo with a lot of wonderful staff. I have never had a bad visit here and it is always improving with the many projects that are occuring.
Micheal Ramirez
It was very good I saw'll lots of animals that I had never seen before
Todd Renfrow
Took my granddaughter to little rock zoo she had a blast
Ericka Haught
Beautiful little zoo, easy walk very well thought out and the animals are so friendly! They came right out when they heard us talking as if to say hello, such a fantastic experience.
Corey Merritt
Me and the family had a blast and the animals were so active we loved tge experience
Chris R
Certainly an older zoo, but had a pleasant experience and animals seemed to be happy in their enclosures.
Lance Brownfield
I grew up going to this zoo, because it's really the only zoo in Arkansas. They have so many animals from each continent. One of their recent additions is the penguin habitat.
The zoo of course seems smaller than when I was a child, but last time I went was still really enjoyable. The zoo charged only a dollar for admission on a Saturday and my whole family went for the occasion.
A lot of the animals are the exact same ones that have been there my whole life. They seem to be treated fairly well for a zoo, which means a lot to me.
ANGEL BULLOCK
We are displaced from the storm we live in Louisiana they gave us a discount and we was able to spend time with our family a great place to be.
Betty Perry
First, we parked pretty far away because they were seriously busy and crowded. Then, we were charged for parking and for three adults and three children after I specified that we had a single free pass which should have gained one of us free access, it did not. Then, half of the exhibits were empty and several of the water areas were disgusting. You could see foam and algae build up in a lot of their water. I don't know if it was because of the lack of employees or just laziness, but we usually enjoy our trip to this zoo. For the price we paid to get in, I would think the animals would be better taken care of.
Susan Hill
My first baby rhino. Sat and watched all afternoon
Such a nice zoo. Amazing
Cricket Watkins
Great zoo!! I had lots of fun killing time here.
Kathryn “Kathy” Stafford
Went to Zoolite displays, rode and train and carousel. A enjoyable time for the whole family.
Erica Carlisle
We went on dollar day and had a great time! Most of all the animals where out and we got there right at opening time so we beat the heat! Definitely worth the dollar.
Emily Lewis
Great zoo to take your kids to. Our kids got a membership for Christmas and love going over for the mornings. The zoo is clean and the animals are well taken care of. Make sure to ask about membership cost (it’s definitely worth it if you plan to go a couple times throughout the year.)
Teresa Morris
Was pleasantly surprised for the most part. Although several exhibits were closed for renovation, I could tell a lot of work had already been completed. In addition to the animals themselves, during Christmas they have a lot of lighted displays of animals, birds and reptiles that are very colorful at night. Will definitely return for a visit in the near future.
Stefany Newman
A lot of fun for only $12. The cafeteria food was awful 😖 so bring a snack. …
Jan Bradley
This zoo has a very caring attitude toward their animals and their customers. It is not too big that you can't enjoy a leisurely walk around the entire zoo and yet big enough to get a true zoo experience. I highly recommend getting a season pass as they have many options available and you can visit whenever you want at your leisure. With the pass you also get free parking and discount at the gift shop.
Krista Linn
Mediocre! Thankful for our membership. We understand that the zoo's were hit hard due to Covid last year - so here is a picture of something that we did enjoy! Lemur just hanging out. 🌻 …
Whitney Watkins-Brown
I enjoyed it for my daughter's first visit. Most of the animals (that weren't sick)looked miserable...alot of habitats were missing water barriers, which I feel is dangerous to their safety and comfort. Hopefully the next time we visit the conditions will be better.
Mae
Super enjoyable. Even during the pandemic they were super safe and still an experience.
A K
We picked a nice day to go. It wasn't crowded and the weather was nice. Every staff member we spoke to was eager to share info about the animals they were caring for. Also, the staff working the carousel, the train and working in the cafe were all so kind and friendly. The exhibits have really improved a lot since our last visit several years ago. We loved seeing all the animals. The kids loved all the play areas. We can't wait to return on our next visit to town.
Grace Buerkle
My daughter loves going so much fun to play on all the play grounds!! Just really wish we could eat at the cafe
Karen Poole
Need to get there early in order to walk the whole park and be able to see all the animals and others and things there or you won't see everything opens at 9 am and closes at 4 pm
Joann Dunn
I saw some animals that I wanted to see in person that I didn't get to in another place and animals I never heard of like sloth bear. One was so sweet when I came up he was way back but came up front. He acted silly as I talked to him. Only thing the Africa restaurant closed too early. I tried to joke it off but young man wasn't having it and was rude. I probably got there about 5 minutes before closing but when I got to counter 3 minutes were left. He didn't smile and tried not to sell me the drink which they was still selling even though no more food. They closed at 2:30 but zoo at 4pm.
James IKE
I really liked it it was affordable and has alot of different animals. Lots of things for kids to do and there were lots of play parks inside
Katie Browning
The weather was perfect there were a lot of people here but when walking around it didn’t feel like it. And of course the animals were adorable.
Larry DeCan
The light show at the Little Rock Zoo awesome.
linda ritter
Some exhibits were closed; however, fun time had by all.
YeazyNation Vevo
Awesome lots of unique Animas big and small from Elephants to Sheep to Wild dogs snakes etc 5 stars highly recommended
Braden Solomon
Great family place for an warm sunny day. Due to the recent cold weather, some of the animals were not out such as: otters, grizzly bears, and howler monkeys
Tony Alvarado
Lovely environment, friendly staff, and clean accommodations definitely were nice to see. Since it was was during what could be considered fall, some of the enclosures were a little bare, for no fault of the animals trying to keep warm of course. My only gripe was the train ride. For how short it felt and for how much you can see before getting on, it did feel like a pricey ride around a small portion of the zoo.
Lori Leanne Nichols
Took my kids here on Sunday March 14th. There isn't near as many animals as there once were but the kids enjoyed it.
Shannon Deckard
The Zoo has many interactive activities, nice walkways & the train ride was short but sweet
Latasha Billings
We have not been in over 2 years. I liked that there was more entertainment/moving with the animals (80% or more). Spent almost 2 years on a good Sunday.
Zach Payne
We're season pass holders that come about once a month. Great zoo considering the size of Little Rock.
Lanessa Dailey
Great exhibits my whole family enjoyed it. 👍
Karl Barnes
It was a warm day, and we only seen 3 animals out; an elephant and a mother Orangutan with a juvenile. Very disappointing.
Waqar Ali
Very clean and nice. Good education for kids.
John Smith
Wonderful place. I am a real fan of this place. Please don’t forget to make donations
Neil Jones (NxG33k)
Great place to get out, see some animal, and walk around. They are always renovating or upgrading something and bringing new animals in.
Lora Kay
We like coming here a couple of times a year. It's a great place for the family. The train ride is way too short. Not worth the money.
Chelsea Murphy
Our kids absolutely love to go to the zoo. They have also made some really fun changes to the kids play areas. I love the new touch smell hear see Garden area.
Robert Hudspeth
Nice little zoo. Animals have some space, and there are great viewing options. Don’t go to their restaurant inside the zoo. You will literally wait over an hour just to order, and the food sucks and is severely over priced. They should be embarrassed about their cafe. Everything else is great though.
Laura Foster
Absolutely lovely! A venue at the zoo served as the reception area for my friends wedding and it was simply beautiful. The holiday decorations made the zoo especially charming. I can't wait to go back!
Davelynn preston (dj)
Love 😍 😍 😍 they gave the monkeys and gorillas presents for them to open it was friut they had wrapping paper everywhere they were so happy there was babys monkey 2 …

So recently my family and I came to Little Rock to have a family day and the kids of course chose to go to the zoo . We had lots of laughs and so much fun but I want to point out one moment in particular out of the trip . We stopped by the gift shop and it was this very kind young lady named Naomi . Now typically we avoid stopping in gift shops because my son is a very active child but we tried our luck that day and as usual he was excited to be there and Ms. Naomi noticed the overwhelmed look in my face as I tried to tend to my other child too . She was so sweet she talked to my son so calm and helped him pick out a souvenir to purchase . For the rest of the night he kept trying to say “Naomi” her kindness truly made my sons day ! Good job Little Rock Zoo for hiring such a sweet soul !
Mike Finch
For a smal town zoo, during the off season, we had a great time. The new baby rhino made a short appearance, and that's why we came. The reptile house was finally open too. Those were our two missions. In addition, ALL the big cats were out and active, which is always a thrill. We were also treated to a very vocal and rambunctious display by one of the large primates near the entrance. I was personally a little disappointed by the lack of information in the reptile house. They had only names, and no information about habitat or location. The zoo is supposed to be an educational experience, not just looking, so that was a bummer. We're members, so well hope to see more in the future.
Jenn Young
So I’m not sure I got her name right but this girl in the gift shop with two colors of hair (Naomi? I think was her name) was super friendly and helpful. She helped me find a great souvenir for my son and was really sweet to him. You need more people who act like this girl.
Keith Smith
Seemed decent. Not all stalls were open. Could use more water fountains. Animals have decent habitats.
Austin Laborde REALTOR
Pretty big zoo. Lots of animals and things to do. Train ride was a bit of a disappointment but overall a good time.
Mary A
Its making great progress as far as the animals there. Parking is spacious unless they are having dollar day.
Clinton Perkins
Went here with my family, and had fun. We rode the train, which was nice. Saw many animals. Was hot honestly, but was good overall.
P.J. Martin
You can tell that a lot of work went into this. Great experience!!
Bonnie Fischer
Nice little zoo. Unfortunately land locked by the city so can't expand. Would like to see larger habitats for some critters, but the ones they have are well maintained and the animals seem well cared for. Would recommend this zoo.
Kati Byers
Every tiny detail was amazing. I buy the yearly pass for it and it's definitely worth it!!!
Missa Rey Belle
Went for a School field trip. It had nice paved walkways with cute animal paw prints and tracks. They had a petting zoo with a lovely momma goat and a baby. There was a snack shack as well as a cafe. They even had a carousel for the kids to ride. As well as a train. But it was closed, along with a few exhibts. A lot of the exhibits were combined so there would be a couple different types of animals in the exhibit. I'm assuming after the covid thing they had to alter a lot of the exhibits such as the closed-in ones which would be like the reptiles and what used to be the butterfly garden but now it's out in the open.
Anita Vaughan
They are doing a lot of work to the zoo. Fun areas for the kids to play also.
William Hill
Great little zoo. Fun quick day trip for the family. Make sure you check the website before had they do have storm damage closures from time to time.
Matthew Kull
Very enjoyable time at the Glowild light display.
CJ Resler
Very affordable, great place for a family outing!
Chris The Awesome Stow
Great zoo.I enjoyed the different animal enclosures. They were active in the morning.
Emily Eberhardt
Went on a field trip with my daughters school. Absolutely loved it and will go back. Some exhibits were closed but that was from storm damage a few days before so everyone was very understanding. Had a blast
Brandy Dailey
When we went, there was very limited food and drink options, even the gift shop was closed in the middle of a busy day. The animals were the only fun thing, and even they seemed depressed and bored. Would love to see the city dedicate more funding to the zoo so it can shine like it should.
John Hedrick
Dollar admission day at the Little Rock Zoo. Too hot, 101°, today to tour the zoo, but it presented an opportunity to ride the over the jumps carousel.
From Wikipedia:
The Over-the-Jumps Carousel, also known as the Herschell-Spillman Carousel is a historic carousel at the Little Rock Zoo in Little Rock, Arkansas. Built in the 1920s and first exhibited at the 1924 Arkansas State Fair, it is believed to be the last operating "over-the-jumps" carousel in the world, with an original undulating wooden platform mounted on a 1960s-vintage caterpillar drive. The horses were carved by the Allan Herschell Company.[2] After many years of private ownership, the carousel was acquired by a local nonprofit group and donated to the zoo in 2007.
Zoo now has 4 EV chargers, but that white pickup is not an EV.
Thomas Fulmer
Great zoo, good exhibits and friendly staff.
Julianne Baer
Good size to bring young children. Parking on a game day was a little frustrating since they take up the zoo parking and then zoo visitors have to find spots. Very friendly staff! Child loved the elephants, flamingos and lion, and everything is well marked and easy to read. Train ride is fun, but honestly expected it to go around more than once for $3 per ticket. Cafe was good! Burger buns are delicious. Wish they had their normal selections available. Great place to visit for a 1/2 day with the family!
Thomas Crump
Nice walk paths. Interactive activities for children. Moderately diverse collection of animals. Great staff. Good prices, (except food).
Emily
Decent zoo for a smaller city. A lot of animals were missing from their spaces but it was a little cold/rainy so it's understandable. The gift shop was also a bit underwhelming.
Bradley Partyof8
The new exibihits are great. We really like the new clean bathrooms too!
Allen Troth
The zoo itself was nice and under refurbishment in select areas. A decent variety of animals to view as well. I would avoid the cafe there though. Service was so slow that we asked for a refund on our food. A 40min wait is far too long for a chicken tender meal with french fries for my son.
Timothy Krebs
Great time here saw many animals. A couple no shows but the heat of the day had everyone hiding in the shade. Over all very fun day!
Leydi Munoz
I wish they had the picnic area open. It is a good place to go and have family fun time or as a field trip with the Sunday School group (kids).
Regis Evans
Great experience for my son!
He loved the multiple playgrounds/play areas!
Rick Piro
Great zoo! It's very enjoyable to visit.
Jill Moody
GloLive was a great, family friendly experience at the Little Rock Zoo! The exhibit was so colorful and beautiful. Refreshments and snack were available for purchase. Beer and wine served for adults. Gifts also available. Great for all ages.
Kristyn Holden
We love the LR Zoo. They have a good variety of animals and my kids love the 4 play areas. I think the LR Zoo's farm is the best kids area of any zoo. Also, if it has been several years since you last visited, they have made lots of improvements. Finally, if you plan to go more than once, buy a membership!
Kyle Crain
The entire reptile exhibit was closed "due to covid". Several others were closed for unknown reasons. I always hear people say it doesn't compare to the Memphis zoo, and maybe it doesn't. I'm not too concerned with how it compares to a bigger zoo, but it would probably help if they kept the few exhibits they did have, open all the time. Still a good way to spend time with my kids.
lauren duffydegonzalez
Great place to take the kiddos! We did breakfast with Santa and it exceeded my expectations! It was wonderful. We will be making it a new holiday tradition :-)
Chris Smith
The zoo is pretty ok we went at the wrong time I guess cause every little habitat we went to all of the animals were no were to be seen so it was a lot of walking to not see much but we still enjoy walking around with the family
Brian Hurt
A very nice, well maintained zoo! Also you might would like to try zoo cafe. Great, fair priced food, hot & fresh!
Tsandra Horton
Was a great visit. It was very hot so all the animals were hiding in their inside inclosures. Lots of water fountains, bathrooms, and shade all along the way very clean and green friendly zoo which I appreciated very much! We got a lot of good exercise. The animals appear to have a really great enviroment. This is a small zoo compared to the Memphis Zoo which is what we are used to. There are several playgrounds throughout the zoo that are fun and engaging for the kiddos. There is a lot of construction going on! Big things are coming and I know we will be back when it is completed.
Loretta Barnett
Enjoyed the day there. Went kind of late...so most animals were put up. The workers were very kind even tho we hadn't made it to exit within the 30/mins alotted time after close.
Rachel Bartlett
Enjoyed our visit today. Loved the baby sloth bear
Veronica D.
We went on a field trip day and still did not feel crowded, there were enough animals to see, the train ride was about 5minutes, it was fun but not a must see in my opinion.
Casandra Lewis
It wasn't crowded, and all of the animals were active. We had an amazing time!
Kimberley Abmas
Went about 2 months ago, as I was in Little Rock on a travel assignment... it was depressing. The animals looked sad. Lots of exhibits were closed. Tons of people without masks on. The restaurant was closed at that time. The bird exhibit was my highlight lol.. The elephants looked like they were so over it. Very dry environment. Not much greenery at that time. I usually love love love the zoo, but was somewhat disappointed. 😕
Matthew Sims
Great place for family activities. Exotic animals, playgrounds for kids, and it didn't break the bank. Will definitely bring the kids back.
Brandy M
My first time visiting LR and the first place I thought of going is the zoo lol. I enjoyed it a lot. It was real hot too so just as they mention some animals were not up for the heat. Btw the staff were very friendly. The gift shop was nice too! Can’t wait to visit again when it’s slightly cooler to see more animals.
Bonnie Jones
We went in the middle of June with 4 kids. The kids had a blast even though most of the animals were sleeping because of the heat. A lot of the exhibits and enclosures were closed or under renovation. The indoor exhibits were still closed for covid reasons. I think it was slightly over priced for what was available, but overall it was worth it because the kids had fun.
Dianna Kilburn
It was hot so many animals were chilling in the shade. This white handed gibbon was very entertaining as he sang back to us! Every thing was well managed and clean. You need a reservation but come visit the zoo!
Nydya Robles
I really recommend it, perfect for children and family, employees are very friendly 👍🏼adults $12 /children $9/ and under 3 years free
KICKIN BUTTS TAKIN VAPES
Kinda blew, all the animals seemed to be in trance, didn't get to see half of what used to be there. But a great place to walk.
I'd go back.
Wesley Kennedy
Off season. Not all animals out an about. Need to finish renovations. May return another time.
Melannie Godfrey
I finally got to go to the LR Zoo after many years of anticipation and sadly, I would give the zoo a "C". It's very clean but it is quite obvious that the zoo is lacking funding and the animals are lacking because of it . . . Many animals didn't have adequate water availability: pools/rivers/ponds/puddles were all virtually dry for animals who enjoy the water when it's available!!! I can't afford an annual membership but I did buy a tee & souvenirs on the way out to help in whatever ways it can?? I believe that the zoo is doing what it can but they desperately need some more funding!!
Michael
The only real drawback from recent LR zoo visit was the over 1 1/2 hour wait on lunch order at Cafe Africa. No excuse for that long of a wait.
Dutch
Injured gorilla limping around with a massive incision, many unfilled enclosures that still have the signs up as if animals are in them. Not the cleanest, I feel bad for many of the animals while some appear to have decent exhibits.
joanna sain
It's fine. Not a great zoo, but small enough to cover in 2-3 hours. There are some nice habitats and some really sad ones.
Mari Morgan
I had an awesome time out of all people I really liked the young lady in the gift shop Naomi . I inquired about a membership she really explained it well and convinced me to get a grand parent plus membership . Some then workers need her positive attidue.
Trisha Teer
There were a few closed exhibits but everything was a great experience!!
Jim Rardin
Great visit, friendly staff.
Daisy Hardie
I have been to OKC zoo and the Tulsa Zoo. I had never visited the LR zoo. We had a blast. Sadly the only place to get food closed at 2... the zoo is open til 4. And there were no other places to get a snack. Or lunch. My sugar dropped while trekking through and my husband rushed to get something and missed a lot of the zoo because he had to wait forever for the meal he ordered. He ended up getting a refund because they weren't prepared or stocked with food to support the amount of guests they had.
They require you to reserve a spot on their website so I feel like they should definitely have enough time to stock their kitchen.
Not very many of their exhibits were closed which was really cool. Nothing sucks more than hoping to see your favorite animal and them not being there.
Hana Kinnett
Very nice,a lots of amazing animals. Great food.
Mary Katherine McKenzie
Fantastic zoo! Great staff and beautiful animals! This park is easy to navigate. There is a great restaurant to eat lunch and cool off! Very kid friendly with a little kid zone, which contains slides and other play equipment. There is a train that runs through the zoo as well. The animals are close enough to see easily and take great pictures!
Alina McLemore
Excellent entry fee, big carousel, beautiful animals.
Susan Quirk
Just returned from a visit to the Little Rock, AR zoo and I was quite impressed. The zoo is undergoing some construction (not intrusive), with improvements for the animal area and visitors. Completed areas are quite nice and it’s obvious there are additional area that will open soon, which are also creative and well thought out.
Despite being hesitant to visit the zoo because of Covid, I was impressed they have done such a great job continually disinfecting all areas. Patrons of the zoo all wore masks and were thoughtful to maintain a safe distance. Worth a visit and a donation, so the zoo can continually improve itself.
Nico Juncos
Went with my baby, wife, parents and cousin. It was awesome! We even arrived with just a couple hours left until closing and managed to see most of the zoo. We will be returning!
Amanda Ebert
Have never been to a zoo with sooooo many adorable babies! The orangutan baby stole the show. Very nice attractions, clean and well kept. Thank you for making our first trip such a great visit.
Sarah Sinclair
We had to make a reservation and pay at the gate. Check in was easy. There was still a lot of people. Everyone kept their distance and didn't bunch up. The reptile exhibit was closed but everything else was running: the cafe, the train, the petting zoo and various food trucks. The animals were being fed when we came by so they were all active and playful. Most of the water stations were closed or removed. All of the play areas were opened.
Steph W
Beautiful place for a day out. Clean and friendly. My son loves that there is a playground and a train too.
Thuy Le
It's sunny and the animals are sleepy but they are cute and not very crowded
Tonya Hanlin
I was not impressed with Little Rock Zoo. The animal enclosures are pretty small. My personal opinion, the animals look sad. We seen every animal in about an hour to hour and a half. A couple of the exhibits were empty or being remodeled. Ive been to other zoos that i liked alot better.
Janae Blew
Me personally, I thought it was actually kinda boring. The only thing that made it all worth it was that my kids had a blast. If it wasn't for them I'd probably never go back.
Britney Barker
The foods expensive but you can expect that at the zoo. Other than that we had a great time.
Sarah Wilkinson
We were driving through Little Rock on a long road trip on a ridiculously hot day, so when we decided to stop, not very many animals (or people) were out, and the animals that were out seemed to be struggling. I loved that the zoo had so many places for the kids to play, and they even had a misting station to cool guests down. As a non-expert, I felt like the animals' enclosures were not enough for some of the animals - the rhino had a very small area, the elephant appeared to be in a horse stall with no grass or trees or anything other than a barrel of sand, etc. But all of the human buildings were modern and updated. I was talking to a friend about it afterwards and she let me know that animal habitats cost $5 million PLUS to upgrade/build, so I realized that the zoo was probably doing the best they could with what they have. I hope the upgraded buildings and inviting spaces they have implemented will convince the Little Rock community to step up and help the zoo upgrade their habitats.
Latasha Lewis Henderson
The kids enjoyed the staff was nice and friendly.
Mitch & Taliatha Knapp
Not nothing like it used to be . Hardly any animals lots of empty area's hardly any exhibit s.
Frank D.
great zoo , open @ 11/8/2020.
Tonya Bealer
Visiting the zoo never gets old. Always something new to see or experience each time we visit.
Cintia Navarrete
Awesome place, they are taking care of the animals and have foundation to help the ones are in danger. It’s not huge but it’s a great family place for the weekend and make sure to trim the twist fries there delicious.
John Lachiewicz
Great playground and animals. Good size for the city.
Rick Reed
Most of the animals were in their dens, no shops or anything were open except for the shop you're forced through to exit the zoo. May be better at night for the season. I guess going early morning was a mistake.
Kaley Faye
Great place for kiddos. The lion was against the viewing glass, the baby orangutan was hanging at the viewing station, the corn dog was was the bomb, and people were polite. The animals are easy to see, animals are active, crowds are small and the staff was super polite. Especially the two women checking reservations at the gate this morning (3-27-21 @ 9:45 am-ish) on the iPads. They were amazing. Kudos for making it a five star rating with such amazing customer service. Will definitely be returning again.
Debjanee Protyasha Nandy
The animals looked very exhausted. Some of the exhibits were empty.
Samantha clark
Fun nice people, a lot of animals
Denise Gordon
We went on a Friday not knowing you had to have reservations because of Covid and had to sadly leave. We did however make reservations for the next day and came back first thing the next morning and was not disappointed. All the animals were in rare form...very active and interactive, it was fun for the entire family. They have done lots of renovations putting in new walk ways and updating several exhibits. We were sad there were no giraffes, the bears were asleep, and several exhibits the animals were still inside. It still needs a lot of work and funding.
Julia Ginn
The zoo is clearly being renovated and a lot of enclosures were closed (some because of Covid and others for unknown reasons). Quite a few animals were nowhere to be seen. The signs were missing in some areas as well.
A few habitats seemed way too small for the animals (the elephants in particular).Otherwise the zoo was fine. It wasn't dirty, the restrooms were clean and the walkways were easy to navigate. I just wasn't particularly impressed for the reasons named above. It wasn't really worth the money, and I worried about some of the animals having happy environments. The primates seemed very happy and taken care of, though!
Emily Border
Nice little zoo. We were able to see quite a few of the animals. My kids had a lot of fun.
Rubyet Evan
Visited during the winter when some of the animals would've been less active. Still, there was surprisingly quite a few things to see for a relatively small zoo. You could get petty close to some of the bigger animals, but just be wary because I saw a little girl get caught in the splash zone of a peeing lion. The staff were very friendly as well.
Mark Timmons
We had an excellent time at the zoo today. My father-in-law was in town and him along with my wife and I and our daughter went and spent a couple hours and had a great time. A lot of the animals were out playing which was shocking but was really neat to see. The safari shop was closed which was a bummer. All of the eating places were closed because of covid-19 but there was a funnel cake and corn dog stand!!
Christopher Baumgardner
Inexpensive fun for the family. Feeding the birds was the kid's favorite part.
tenny jackson
Loved it had a good time all the animals were out and enjoying the sun will go back soon
Quan Tum
This is a really nice little zoo. You can do the whole thing in one day and the day areas are really great for all age kids. They also have a new tactile play area that kids love.
Celina Robles
We totally loved seeing all the beautiful animals, we bought a family pass that gives us discounts on the food drinks and special events that will happen and it is worth the $89 for 3 family members. I highly recommend this for families, group events, birthday parties, dates, etc
Cat 3
33 well-utilized acres with a good variety of animals. The layout is east to navigate and there are plenty of nicely designed areas to get good views of everything. Nice park areas for the kids, plenty of bathroom stops. Would definitely recommend!
Brandy smith
So much fun need a better map the map did not help us
Kirsten Machamer
Nice small local zoo that I would say is perfect for younger audiences. The animals are well cared for and the staff/care givers are friendly and knowledgeable. We can easily spend just a morning or afternoon there. We like going when it first opens as I feel the animals are the most active. Some areas could use some updating and it appears the organization is moving forward on projects.
Eryn M
My kid had a blast, nice size, wasn't disappointed.
Bill Beavers
Nice visit with low attendance partly because of covid and partly incoming rain. No vending, reptiles or train but the animals were presenting. So it was a fun visit. Remodel additions make viewing some animals much better than ever.
Cassie R
Beautiful and very clean. Animals had very nice and roomy enclosures.
Shelly Summerville
Enjoyed being here for Kids With Disabilities Day. The kids could feed some of the animals & pet some of the animals. Nice trip with family.
Meagan Jones Moore
The zoo is awesome and seems to always be renovating to make life for the animals the best as possible. One interesting thing about the Little Rock Zoo is that a lot of the animals they have are geriatric and the staff takes awesome care of them. The staff is also great about educating guests on the various animals located at the zoo and answering any questions you may have.
Joy Turner
Very enjoyable for the kids!
S
I thought it was a pretty nice zoo, don't know why so many complaints. I didn't see too much construction and only a couple of exhibits were closed.
Angel V. Pincay Valentin
It is an excellent place to share with the family, a clean place, well organized, the bathrooms are super clean, comfortable to walk and parking near the entrance.
William C
This Zoo is amazing. Yes it is a smaller zoo (33 acres) but has a wonderful selection of animals. The zoo is clean and employees and friendly and helpful.
Marian Jarman
We went to see the light party!
Cynthia Easterly
Even though some things we're closed due to construction. Still a great way to spend a few hours on the weekend.
Kayla Gluck
Reservations are required to enter. Fairly priced. We are from out of town. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and there were maybe 15 cars in parking lot. Signs state that masks need to be worn at all time. We had no issue. But they don't enforce it at all inside the park. Everyone we ran into had their mask off their face. Made us feel a tad uncomfortable.
Nice little zoo! The gorillas, chimps and orangutans were all putting on a show when we arrived.
Some of the park is under construction so it made it hard to get around. If we visit Little Rock again we'd be back!
Melissa Moore
They pick a day that it was very hot 🔥 🥵 and not many of the animals were in mooded because of the heat, this dollar day wasn't a good day. 😑
Angela Barker
Hot! Way too hot to visit during summer months. None of the “misters” were in use. A lot of the exhibits are still closed due to covid. The train was a total joke. It lasted an entire 2 minutes flying around with no tour info. The exhibits were nice.
becky robinson
Early morning is going well he best time. All the animals were out
James Foster
We love the zoo and go often. We've seen several of the animals up close and the flowers/greenery are very well maintained. The train ride is not very interesting - we'd love to see it go around the entire park, or a further distance, so you could see animals while riding the train.
Stephan Payne
What a Wonderful day at the zoo! Took my neice and Sister and we had the Best time. The Temperature was a high of 64F and overcast. All the animals were enjoying the nice weather too. None of them were hiding or laying around, they were all out and active. One of the best times we have had at any zoo in many years. Thank You Little Rock Zoo and keep up the hard work!
Brian Fletcher
Love the zoo as Always
angela kane
Love the Zoo. Thanks for being here.
STephanie
I love the Zoo! I am disappointed though that there were no giraffes, the water displays were all empty inside the exhibits. And I feel you could find use for some empty spaces around the zoo. I think you have plenty of places where elephant ear plants, tulips, gladiolus and hyacinths could be planted to beautify the zoo. And feel that what water exhibits you do have need to have grass carps placed in them to help clean up some of them. And by all means more Koi fish.
Amber Smith
This place is very nice and clean. Animal's appear to be well taken care of. They do have vendors set up with hotdogs and things like that. If you wish to have a meal, you have to order in advance. You will also need to make reservations before going. Reasonable prices. Overall an enjoyable experience
Darren Godfrey
Great place my kids had fun
Destinee Lyons
My biggest complaint is that several exhibits were closed for various reasons. Prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed everything we got to see. Most importantly the animals looked well cared for!
Sonya Ford
Had lots of Fun here. Enjoyed it very much.
Neil Richardson
Definitely not the best zoo only because it's small!
Brian Shepherd
It was nice except the weather was hot so lots of animals hid out that day. The train was not running that day and that was a disappointment, but there was hardly anyone there so that was nice being able to move between the exhibits and actually seeing the Animals. Had a wonderful day with my mother son and wife.
Michael Smith
We love the zoo, our family of four have been members for over a decade. They do a nice job updating the enclosures and putting enrichment items out for the animals. My biggest concern is the lack of new animals, the giraffes are gone no hippos to be seen. Not to say they never get new ones (like the Ringtails and Alpacas). It is a small zoo that is land locked, similar to the fair grounds, so they have to be attentive to figure out new exhibits. I would love to see more animals and less playground equipment personally. Still a solid 4 star for me and worth a visit especially if you have young children.
Page McDonald
Thank you to The Little Rock Zoo for Lawson and Sherwood Elementary Family Night!! The kids had an amazing night of fun and learning about the animals.
W. K. M
Very fun day at the zoo! Fun place to walk around. Could definitely use more animals tho! Cafe was dissapointing! Only chips and drinks!

The weather was nice. Not too crowded. Most of the animals were out and about. We went in around 9 am stayed until 2. We ate lunch at the cafe. It is a great place to spend the day with the kids. Nice play areas. Just a few habitats were under construction.
