Reviews of Descanso Gardens
The Awesome Jade H (邊渡友次子)
The visit was on a free day so there were many people, especially in areas with beautiful gardens or architecture.
Overall, a beautiful place to visit.
There's a gift shop that has many succulents for sale that are reasonably priced.
The dining area is beautiful and interesting.
There are many open areas with beautiful and calm space.
Was I wrong or I heard cicadas singing! They're beautiful!
The bathrooms inside the garden are clean and well maintained.

What a beautiful magical place. So many places where you can sit and just listen to nature without hearing the sound of cars passing by or too many people. I would recommend to wear tennis shoes as there is a lot of walking to do here. Kids will enjoy it here as there is ponds and a lake with fish. A very beautiful lookout by the lake. I highly recommend to take a weekend trip here arrive early as it will probably take you half a day or more to walk around comfortably all around.

Received a recommendation to visit Descanso Gardens while visiting the La Cañada area as they went to see the Enchanted Forest of Lights. However, I came during the day to see the botanical garden. It was a Thursday afternoon , but there was plenty of parking available and the grounds weren't crowded at all.
There were about 10 distinct areas that represented areas of California, North America, and Japan. All the areas, plants, flowers, trees, and water features were well maintained and properly cared for. There were many different paths that all connected so you were able to pick your own journey at your own pace. It took a little longer than an hour to casually walk through all the areas. The Gardens were a perfect place to sit, relax, and interact with nature. I enjoyed seeing everything during the day, but would also like to come back to see the Enchanted light feature.
This place is amazing. You really do feel at peace when walking around this garden. The parking was free but entrance cost $15 for adults and children under five are free. We spent an hour walking around and we only covered half of the park. We got train tickets and that was pretty fun.

Such a beautiful location. The tulips were so amazing. It is so nice to see people walking the grounds enjoying Gods creations. It’s family friendly and handicapped accessible. They have a little shop and snack cafe. You can even have your wedding here. If you want to get out and enjoy a beautiful day ten out of ten totally recommend.

I love visiting this garden, I've been here three times now and it amazes me everyime. They have a nice trail to hike on. Lots of beautiful views, flowers, trees and so much more. I think my favorite time to go is during fall because that's when they have the light show at night. That's a must see if you haven't yet. If your a student you get a discount and you can also get a membership if you like to walk/hike often there.

Gorgeous magical place with a ton of flowers in blossom. April is definitely one of the best months to visit with so many trees and flowers in full blossom! Very easy to buy tickets online and skip the line, love the park layout with both exotic flowers and California native plants. Will be coming here again and again.

What an amazing gem!
Everyone should pay a visit especially during the spring!!
I will highly recommend getting the tickets on line and skip the line at the box office and go straight to the check in.
Also I saw people holding drinks (wine mostly) when wandering around inside. I should definitely do that next time.

The gardens are beautiful! I highly recommend coming here if you're interested in marveling at the flowers, roses and way more! The Rose Garden has to be the best part of it. Ticket prices as of when I'm writing this are $15 for an adult, $11 for a student w/ ID or senior, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children under 6. These prices can change, and you can check it at Descanso's website. Parking is free, and it's very easy to drive in. If you decide not to buy advance tickets online, you'll have to wait in a mediocrely long line, sometimes longer. I highly suggest buying tickets online as you can walk right into the Visitor Center and up to the ticket agents in the front ready to scan your ticket. You can also re-enter when you leave for a short-period of time, just make sure to ask the agent first so they remember you. It takes about 2-3 hours to look around all see all the parts of the garden, so make sure to bring some snacks, water, and comfortable shoes. There's also decent cell service in the area, so you should be able to call for help if you're in trouble or need help. Also, it shouldn't be that easy to get lost as there are many signs around the entire garden guiding you by saying what is in what direction, how long it'll take to walk there, and if it's moderate to steep terrain or not. Anyway, it was a great time. Definitely recommend visiting.

This is a group of well organized gardens. The cost is very affordable with free parking. Plenty of spots in their big parking lot. The place is great for all ages: kids, teens, adults, seniors... It's perfect to take your family or out of state friends to visit for half or the whole day.

Loved Enchanted Forest! The lights, music, and fog (in one of the areas) made the entire place look magical. My favorite parts were definitely the flower lights and the firefly lights. The staff were all super nice too :)
