We had such an amazing experience at Alley Cat ceramics! I picked my daughter up from school early to surprise her with some one on one time and this activity did not disappoint. The owner was amazing, very patient in teaching my daughter techniques and helpful from start to finish. We picked up our ornaments (painted in acrylics) and our nativity scene (painted in glaze). I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their brushes- as a painter myself, I was nervous they would have cheap brushes. They were fired quickly and this will definitely be a tradition. We cannot wait to go back!

A great shop with lots of glazed, molds and supplies on hand. The studio area looks great and they offer classes. The owners were super nice and took the time to give me a tour and answer questions.Different clays available too at a great price.

My boyfriend took me here as a birthday present because he knows I love art and we had the best time! The owners are super sweet and very clearly knowledgeable about pottery. They took the time to walk us through the different types and what they recommend we paint since this was our first time doing something like this. We picked our pieces and then we got to pick 6 colors each. We spent about 2-3 hours just painting in silence because it was so peaceful and therapeutic! Our two pieces were about $32 and some change so this is a very affordable activity. I’m in love with what we painted and we will definitely be back💛

My daughter, 2 granddaughters & I had a delightful experience yesterday at Alleykat Ceramics. They had a wide selection of ceramics & paints to choose from. The ambiance was relaxing, yet festive with Classic Christmas carols playing in the background as we painted & visited. The owners were knowledgeable, helpful, organized and kind. As a special & unexpected treat, my grands got to help feed the ducks that show up & tap on the back door every afternoon. Highly recommend!

The Alleykat staff is always so kind and helpful. They have a large selection of Mayco and Potter's Choice glazes. They have all of the essential tools, and more, that I constantly need to restock. They have varying price point options for those essential tools as well. Ms. Mary always welcomes my kids and helps keep them happy while I shop.

The couple who own/operate this facility are gems! Very knowledgeable about ceramics. They have a great selection of green ware, and if you don’t see what you see looking for, be sure to ask as they have many molds and will pour things for you. They also offer classes!

My son & I wanted to make something special for his speech therapist. After speaking to Mary about my ideas she guided us in the right direction in her studio. I ask Mary to do the wording. No only did she do that she added special items to the piece. We loved how much ❤ she pu into it know how much the piece meant to us. I highly recommend all ages to come visit Mrs. Mary. I have done ceramics since 1971, I stopped for very long time, and just got back into it recently. Mary and her husband are very friendly and knowledgeable. The pieces that they offer are very up to date, and with all the new techniques available make it appealing. The prices are very affordable. I will be taking my first class of the many she offers. They are always helpful even when I run in the door 5 minutes before closing time. I had forgotten how to glaze and Mary gave me instructions (not the same day I came in 5 minutes before closing). I had planned to come home & finish but she said it was fine for me to stay & glaze my items there in their studio. They have a great selection of glazes & prices for firing are very reasonable. Love their Christmas room! Mary & John are both very friendly & make you feel right at home in their business! Wish I had more time to go there & work on m projects!

I went with a friend to purchase some paint one day and Mrs. Mary showed us some techniques on painting pottery and some do’s and no-no’s when painting pottery. They are so friendly and love to share their knowledge of pottery with you. This is the BEST place to go for products and to learn. They are wonderful people and I love going there.

Mrs. Mary was a pleasure to deal with. My wife and I "threw" some pottery for our anniversary. We finally made it back to paint our fired pieces. We brought the kids along and let them pick something out to paint. We all had a great time. One of our kids was having a self inflicted fit because he mixed his paints and couldn't make the colors he wanted. Mrs. Mary took him away from the room and helped him settle down. She freshened up his paints and cleaned up his pottery piece so he could take another go at it. We all left smiling.

My 7 and 4 year old son and I started out dropping off for a family member and turned into a 90 minute painting visit due to weather. We had a great time, Mary and John were fabulous to my kids and they learned about ceramics in the process. Prices were vary reasonable, wide selection of things and it was a great "substitute" activity for us in the process. Highly likely we'll get more from there, go back for another visit, or both.

I started going to Alley Kats Ceramics about 8 months ago. I suffer with social anxiety but Mrs. Mary and Mr John treated me as if i was family and made me feel comfortable and welcome. I’ve attended a couple of classes and found them to be knowledgeable and patient while teaching us new techniques. They offer a vast array of products and will teach you how to use them. Twice a month they hold a ladies night out where we share a potluck meal, socialize with our friends and work on our projects. I plan on bringing my grandchildren to the studio this summer so they can enjoy painting their own projects. I have seen Mary and John interact with other children at the studio and know that my grands will be welcomed as graciously as any adult would be. Thanks Mary and John for a wonderful time every time I visit your studio.

This is the place for all your ceramic needs. We drove from Picayune to visit the store with little more than just an idea of what we wanted. Everyone there was extremely helpful and took the time to not only get us moving in the right direction but to also provide instruction so that the finished product would look fantastic. Mrs. Mary (Owner) has tremendous knowledge of ceramics and was able to provide input on what colors would show up as well as explaining the techniques to my daughter so that she would understand how to achieve the desired look. My entire family not only got to spend some quality time doing a project for my father-in-law but we all gained a better understanding from speaking with Mrs. Mary about how the process works and we will definitely be return customers.

We found Alleykat while we were visiting family in Long Beach, MS. My daughter and myself painted items to have some fun for her birthday, the whole experience was just wonderful. Mrs. Mary and all the staff were so welcoming and kind. We had a great time and plan to visit again next time we are in Gulfport. My favorite part was our tour in her Christmas room, she has beautiful pottery and the prices are extremely reasonable. I only wish I lived closer!!

I highly recommend AlleyKat. I went in to pick up a base to my husband's grandmother's ceramic Christmas tree and came out with new friends! Mary took the time to give me a tour of their shop, which includes their own Christmas room. I can't wait to take my 3 grandchildren there one Saturday to paint Christmas ornaments.

Came to this place for their witch shoe class. Very helpful and friendly owners! The atmosphere is great too, very welcoming. It's a great thing to go do with a friend or even a mother/daughter day. I love this place! The shop is loaded with a large selection of ceramic pieces you can finish for home or gifts. It seems there is always something new happening (check out the cute witches shoes). Take in a few wine bottles and turn them into serving trays. The owners, Mary & John, are so friendly and helpful and such nice people! "Southern Hospitality" served here.

This shop is a ceramic lovers dream stop! I hadn't done ceramics in 30 years when I found this shop and made a trip down from Hattiesburg two months ago. The owners were wonderful. I ordered a bunch of greenware and made arrangements to come back and get it. Mary even made a point to help and save me a trip down. Then when I did go back to work on glazing, my sitter was sick and could not keep my 2 year old. They allowed me to set up a play pen in the paint room and bring her along. Of course, being a two year old, it didn't last a long time, but they were so patient with her and with me as I tried to keep her happy long enough to finish my project, lol. Naturally they asked me to keep an eye on what she was touching, why wouldn't they? After all, it IS a ceramic shop with fragile items on every shelf. I wouldn't want a two year old running around in my ceramic shop. Will I take her there again, absolutely, but not when I want to work on a project there until she is old enough to do her own. Maybe next year, lol. I couldn't ask for a more pleasant couple to work with. Mary offers great suggestions on projects, and John went out of his way to explain the differences in glazes, firings, stoneware, and ceramics. I have been back a few times since and they have my business from now on. Definately worth the drive from Hattiesburg, actually, Moselle. Besides, we LOVE the AlleyKat sign! LOL

Came here with my daughter who is 9 and my best friend and her two boys 3 and 7. Saw the reviews before to see if they allowed us to come in and paint and also with kids. Saw only 1 bad review, 1 4 star review, and then the rest are 5 stars. I don't know what happened to cause the 1 star but I did call alot to ask questions about what they do, if appointment needed which you don't at all walkins welcome. Was told to allow 2+ hrs to paint and they do close at 4:30. Very knowledgeable on how to paint and show you how beforehand. Was very patient with us and even myself when I couldn't make my mind up on a stone paint I wanted for a mug I spent just myself picking the paint going back and forth like 10 mins. Didn't know beforehand bc I've never done this before for food based it takes like a day to cook the mugs I wanted to do and they start them in the morning. I knew baking was required but didn't know that long just wanted to say this to give you a heads up. She even let me buy a painted mug that was made that I was making mine just like since I was here on vacation seeing my friend and leaving town in two days and not open when it would have been done to have when I go home for my husband's bday. Very grateful for that 🙏🙌. I'm saying that part bc it was something I didn't think to ask and plan for beforehand as it was a last minute thing we decided to do. My best friend is picking it up and when I see her will get them from her. Worked well with us and the kids. My daughter said I what to come back when we come back this way I said for sure. I so wish we had a place like this near us so I could do it more. Lots of prices very cheap. Was expecting to spend $60+ on just 2 pieces but I spent 58 on 4 pieces.

AlleyKat Ceramics is VERY CLEAN for a full-service ceramic studio. Many ceramic stores are dusty from the bisque and greenware, cluttered, and more of a hang-out than a business. Alleykat Ceramics is none of that, while still maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment. This is the best ceramic studio I've seen in the area and at least out to Texas. I travel through this area frequently and thoroughly enjoyed visiting this studio. I will definitely be going back when I'm in town.

I had the most wonderful morning with Mary and John today! These two are so knowledgeable and are absolutely friendly and just great to interact and visit with. I picked out and painted two cute pieces, and I can’t wait to go back for my next project. I am a 29 year-old mom of three that was looking for a fun hobby, and I believe I found it! I can’t recommend this studio enough! What a treat!
