The installation of our new garage door and opener from Hicklin was professionally done and they did an excellent job. They were efficient and detailed. We did need a quick follow up for a minor adjustment but Cody was here the next day and took care of it and explained what he did and why. I had a fantastic experience with Hicklin garage door! They worked with my schedule and were able to have my door installed before initially scheduled as a result of my old door kicking the bucket prior to the install date. The installation team worked very did diligently to ensure that it was put in properly and I have no doubt that it will be in great working order for many years to come. They took time to answer any possible questions that I had. Took time to explain how to oil it every season to ensure a good working order. I will never use another garage door company as long as I am in Des Moines Iowa. I will refer all of my friends and family to Hicklin door.

Very quick to get service scheduled when I called, same day service was available. Cody was the technician that came to look at our garage door. I explained what had occurred and he explained most likely what and why it failed. Cody then explained what he would do to repair/replace what part of the door that failed, along with the cost. He was very quick to get the failed spring out and replaced, he made sure the door opened/closed without issue and then told me the best times and way to grease the wheels and spring on the door. Given the fast response, warranty and cost of service, I’d highly recommend Hicklin if you have any garage door/opener repairs.

Hicklin Garage Door Service has always been top notch with me over the past few years and usually there the same or next day. This time, Joshua came out to install a new opener in our garage as the old one had failed after 20 years. He inspected the old unit and found a sensor out of line. Fixed it, tuned and lubed the door and it’s good as new - and $300 less than what the new unit would have been! They’ll definitely get my business in the future. We've always had good luck with Hicklin and will continue to use them. Last week in the middle of the blizzard the spring on our large garage door broke. Called Hicklin after hours and still got a live person who set up a next day appointment. Installer arrived at 0800 the next morning and had it replaced within an hour in subzero temps. We were asked if it was an emergency and we had one car out so it was no problem to wait and avoid an emergency call out. Hicklin’s sent out a text with the work order number assigned and reminders the next morning that we would be called by the service tech a half hour before arrival at our home. Jake did just that and at 1:30pm he was at the job site starting the repairs to our door. Jake was thorough and quick and did provide advice on how to maintain the complete door system to extend the life. The repair was completed and tested in one hour. One of our torsion spring cables broke last night. I called Hicklin Door Services today at 8:14am, today and their technician arrived at 9:36am. River was fantastic! He is conscientious, experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. He reviewed our issue and was able to point out a related issue that I was unaware of. He was super-quick in replacing the torsion spring cables, rollers and tightening the drive chain. He tested the operation thoroughly and had me test it as well. He took the time to explain a potential issue that could arise with the opener drive - due to one of the torsion spring cables breaking and putting a lot of weight on the drive motor and drive gear. He went over everything again before he left. Pricing is quite reasonable. This is our second interaction with Hicklin Door Services and they are our one-stop call for anything with our garage door! Highly recommended!!

Tech (Josh) was very knowledgeable and friendly. Garage door had gotten wedged and broken beyond repair. He was able to manipulate the broken pieces to get the door serviceable until the replacement can be installed. After the service was completed a hummingbird flew into the garage and would not leave. He caught it with his bare hands and after closing the newly serviced door, safely released it. Incredible service.

Garage spring broke last night. Called two companies in the morning. Hicklan could come the same day. River, the technician, arrived at 9:30. I was quite irritated when the price expectations I was given on the phone were not correct. River offered a solution that ‘made things right’ and cleared it with his supervisor promptly and courteously. He worked very quickly, answered several questions and even offered helpful tips for maintenance, which I appreciated. His performance completely changed my initial opinion of the company. Customer service has practically disappeared so when you run across an outstanding performer, it is so refreshing and appreciated. Hope this guy get a big cash bonus!

I called Hicklin to replace a torsion spring at 10:42 and they had a window available from 11-1. Ryan was the primary technician and he did an awesome job explaining my options. I honestly don't think he could have done a better job. He upsold me and I felt good about it. Overall, the cost seemed a bit expensive, but I haven't had this done for 5 years(different house)and not sure if that repair was an apples to apples comparison to the current situation.

She said she could get someone sent out way today. Brandon over in less than an hour. He quickly replaced the spring and was able to save our cables. Best service you can find for everything related to garage door repair and maintenance! I needed a quick fix for a snapped tension spring on my townhome’s garage door. I used Hicklin for previous maintenance and repair on the home when I lived in it, and trust them to take care of my home now that someone else is renting it. Hicklin installed my garage door a few years back. The estimate guy was very knowledgeable and told me my old opener was still running strong despite being well over 20yrs old. I was quite happy with the work. Fast forward to the 2020 deracho storm. My door was wrecked just like every other door facing that way. I called Hicklin again and they were able to refer to the previous install and ordered a replacement immediately. When the install happened, the fellas showed me some miniscule dings on the edges of a couple of the the panels inside the garage. I would not have noticed them. We have used this company for years; great service! We ordered a new door; due to covid it took 6 weeks which was no big deal. We weren't going anywhere! Crew seemed a little frustrated upon arrival, but that slowly went away as it was a pretty easy swap out the old install the new in the same place. *My only hitch in this was the sales person told us he sold us a door equivalent in R value to our wood door. And as cold as our garage is now, there is no way. But it is pretty, and works great!

My experience was awesome. Coming from the customer service field I couldn't have felt better about the decision I made. I had called another company locally and they couldn't get me on the schedule for like a week so I called Hicklin. We have had Hicklin perform a couple of different things for us. A few years back we needed to replace one of the motors in the garage door and opted to replace them both (we have two doors). They gave us a coupon for further work and honored that even though it had been quite some time. When we had them come replace the actual doors (they were dented when we moved in but we'd planned on replacing them anyways with more energy efficient models when we bought the house) they showed up on time and the price was reasonable for what we wanted. Now, a few months on I can honestly say we're still very happy with the fit and finish of the doors and how well they work - both in motion and the added insulation when they're closed.

Recently built a new home and wanted great looking and high quality garage doors on our home. We got just that. The quality is clearly superior to the builder grade doors a lot of new homes use. Unlike other doors, these look as great on the inside as they do on the outside, they are insulated well, which is great for our heated garage, and the price was more than fair. Additionally, the techs that installed our garage doors took the time to explain the features, were extremely professional and very friendly. Overall experience was good. Salesman was very knowledgeable and personable. I did feel slightly pressured to purchase a top of the line door, but he's a salesman, it's his job. I never heard back about the status of the door or to set up installation, I had to call and ask if the door was ready. Installation crew was great. They got the door up quickly and were hilarious to talk to. They left the door a bit smudged and dirty, but I think they may have felt that my wife and I were rushing them because we kept hanging around. The door seems to be of good quality and is very attractive in appearance. However, about a month after installation, I've noticed it is getting louder as it goes up and down. Also, my new door opener now makes a loud clicking sound as it raises the door. I did not purchase the opener from them, but they did install it with the new door.

I called on a Thursday to make an appt for someone to come out and replace my broken garage door springs. My garage door would not open. They got me in their schedule for the next day on Friday. They said between 10 am - 12 pm. I asked if someone could call me when they were on their way so I could leave work and meet them there. My schedule is busy so I can't just wait around at home. Ryan called me at 9:55 am and said he would be there at 10:20 am so I met him out there. He was prompt, kind, and knowledgeable and took his time explaining things and answering questions. He told me the job would take 1/2 hour and it did exactly that. He got my garage door working and thanked me for my business. That is one important thing lots of businesses forget to do. I made the call to Hicklin at 4:15 pm about my broken garage door opener. It is 13 years old and had been operating very loud lately so I knew it was close to death. Called first thing this morning because springs broke on door overnight. The repair guy (Ryan) was here about 10:45. It was fixed fast and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We've had Greg and Kieran out (can't remember the name of the tech who did the springs) recently, and a big measure of a quality company (for me) is someone who doesn't talk down to me or dumb things down purely because I'm female. I have never once felt belittled or condescended to; quite the opposite in fact. I pride myself on problem-solving and being handy, and I like to know how things work, and they always go over the problem and repair thoroughly and don't jerk me around with vague numbers or explanations. Kieran in particular has been a pleasure to work with; he is the kind of employee every company should strive to attract and I hope his boss sees this and gives him a serious bonus! We had a great experience with Hicklin and their team. Our door looks good, helping with the energy efficiency of our home, and the cost was half of the major garage door installers in DSM. We have an older home and the job was not that big, but Hicklin was responsive throughout the entire process. Other companies that I got a quote from was a challenge in that I felt like I had to badger them to get out to look at things and get us a quote. The only thing that they did not handle was the trim around the opening, which was fine because it was communicated up front, but I had to make other arrangements. Also, their product line (Garaga), I was sold on after doing some research and seeing a product demo video which describes what makes Garaga different than the rest. The three point moisture/air seal between each door panel is impressive and makes total sense from an energy efficiency standpoint.

We had them come out because the spring on our door broke. I called and they were out later that day. I had noticed wires on the sides had begun to fray as well. As I had Darryl inspect the door, I asked about the opener as we had to get really close to the door to open it lately. The opener was over 20 years old. We had a couple bad rollers, bad brackets (rusting) and our insulation at the bottom wasn't flush. He gave a reasonable quote for all of it. We decided to have him take care of all of the issues rather than having to have them come back out. Fortunately we were his last appointment of the day. Darryl was incredibly friendly, honest, and showed me everything that he was replacing. While it was more than we had planned since we hadn't planned on a new opener, it was reasonably priced and well done.

We had a weird situation where someone (not from our household) accidentally crashed into and destroyed our garage. We chose Hicklin garage to replace it. Bc it was a car accident situation, we had to get an estimate for the person's insurance company to approve. Hicklin was great helping navigate this weird "middle man" issue, and even spoke directly with the claims people and faxed them paperwork so that I wasn't attempting to do these things. Additionally, we live in a townhouse, so of course the association required we have an odd sized, specific color garage door to match the other homes, and it had to be special ordered. It arrived earlier than they'd estimated, so that was a pleasant surprise. Even though we weren't the ones paying, I felt the prices were completely reasonable, and the customer service was absolutely stellar.

Boy was I wrong! They came at 9 am. The tech was great! He replaced the two springs in no time. The tech said they don’t really work with Ryobi openers so he wasn’t able to reprogram it to the new springs. I didn’t mind since we can do it ourselves. He came back within 10 minutes to reprogram it since his manager told him how to. The tech went above and beyond! The customer service from everyone I spoke to was fantastic! The cost was similar to what I researched online. I would definitely recommend this company to everyone.

Hicklin Doors is a FANTASTIC company. I first called them a few years ago when I was walking out of the door and hit the garage opener but the door jammed and came off track.
