Reviews of Denver Botanic Gardens
Heather Mires
Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens I have been to! The gardens are stunning, unique and very well maintained throughout the year. The staff and volunteers are extremely kind and helpful. They also have delicious food and drinks that you can enjoy inside the garden. I also highly recommend the Halloween and Holiday light shows they have in the fall and winter. A lovely place to visit anytime of year!
Tracy Sung
Such a beautiful, peaceful place to stroll around! We came here around 10:30am and it was already bustling. There's plenty of free parking and if you bought a ticket online, you can skip the ticket booth. We enjoyed seeing the different flowers, the Japanese pavilion and the bonsai trees. Absolutely a gem of a place and you can really feel the love and care poured into these gardens. Highly recommend a visit!
Emilie Denton
Absolutely stunning. The Gardens are well maintained, lots of wildlife living here. I went towards the end of the season and it was still breathtaking so I cannot image what it looks like when everything first springs. Highly recommend making sure you make time to go into the greenhouse! Family friendly experience!

First timers and we (my children and I) LOVED it! This place is huge and we didn't get to see everything because it was very hot out. We stayed for about 2 hours and had so much fun and saw so much beauty!!! There is indoor areas and a small art museum. They even have a library and a small art shop. They have a Cafe and everyone is so kind. We had a picnic and yes you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks.
Aubrey Glaze
Parking is easy, staff is super friendly! You can purchase tickets online for easy check in when you arrive. Cute gift shop and a few different spots for a coffee or a bite to eat. Very nice to walk through and enjoy the many different garden, plants and flowers. Beautiful place!
Lauren Nelson
I absolutely loved my visit to the gardens! I grabbed a delicious latte from one of the cafes and enjoyed walking around. I was in a time crunch, and I was still able to view the majority of the gardens in under an hour. I would recommend an hour and a half or two hours if you want to take your time, or if you have children. There were many different sections of the garden, each unique and beautiful. Next time I'm in Denver I will definitely be going again!
Rick Spiegel
Awesome botanical gardens. Easy access to most areas. Many volunteers pruning and caring for the grounds. Very well kept areas. The Lilly ponds are fabulous. The only disappointment was the science pyramid was closed for some technical issue and never reopened. We were told to return in an hour and when we did it was still closed off. This was of major interest to us. Hopefully the next trip to Denver we will return to visit the science pyramid and visit the vortex. Overall it was several hours of relaxation.
Elaine Lee
We came in early spring so there were not too many blooms. The tropical plants were amazing. The science pyramid was good for kids. The landscaping is beautiful. I especially enjoyed the moongates and their description. It was very picturesque even without everything in bloom

I absolutely love Denver Botanic Gardens! The architecture in the park combined with the different plants and flowers is stunning. It is one of my favorite places to photograph in Denver. They have several different wedding spots, and are true pros at helping you set everything up for the day! If you love plants, color and landscape design this is a great place for your wedding!
Abby Jones
Beautiful! Unique! Well maintained! Perfect for everyone! There is so much to see and enjoy. You can easily tour in an hour or really spend time taking in everything and spend several hours. Family friendly. Great restaurant inside as well, you can also picnic there. I would highly recommend!
Blair Grylls
This place is beautiful! They've done an excellent job decorating everything. If you actually look closely at the lights on the trees, they are put up so well and thoroughly. They clearly took a lot of care and time putting everything up and it shows! The walk itself is not too long but it's about the same length as any other light walks we've done. They have a bunch of different sections too which were all completely different from the other sections. So it made for a lot of variety in the lights. We didn't get any so I could not speak to the quality, however they were selling what looked to be hot coco and maybe even apple cider there as well. They also had a store and bathrooms, both which were indoors where you could also step inside and warm up if you're too cold. I would recommend Blossom of Lights to anyone of any age. Absolutely worth the price as well!

Always a peaceful place to spend an afternoon enjoying nature in all its glory. Serenity emanates from the Denver Botanic Gardens and I have found it to be a perfect place to unwind, take a stroll, read a book, or just sit and think. So many magical types of plant life exist in one space. I love exploring. Also, since it’s addition, I have continually applauded the truly perfect placement of a Dale Chihuly glass sculpture. Bravo!
Huong Dang
One of my favorite places in Denver! I love strolling through the various flora, desert, and tropic. They have two restaurants that are equally delicious. However, the lines can be long and winding on the weekends. The annual membership is so worth it if you live in Denver For $65, I can take another person in every time I go, and I also get three guest passes to give out at any time of the year. The light show during the winter holidays was magnificent, and I look forward to going again this year.
Jackie Becker
The lily pond was absolutely stunning! It’s best around mid-late July, so I recommend that time of year.
The rest of the garden is also lovely. It’s less of a rose bushes and tulip lanes type garden, and more beautiful manicuring and full green plants type garden. Parking is extremely easy, and the garden is quite wheelchair friendly.
Joaquin Muñoz
This might be my new favorite place in denver. An amazing collection of plants both outside and in doors. Was super excited to be in the conservatory and see all of the tropical plants as well as to wander the grounds and enjoy the changing of the leaves. Such a beautiful and calming place in the middle of the city. Visit spend time and relax!
Kimberly Rae
What a wonderful place to explore and reset. I love having our membership to have an amazing place to find new discoveries with my guys, decompress with my sister, or bring friends & family to see so many plants they've never seen before.
It's a peaceful gem in the middle of the city with so many wonders. The tropical discovery took my sister & I back home to our island. The bonsai garden lit up my oldest, who is obsessed with japan. My youngest loved watching the fish & birds in the coy pond. Then I was able to get a treasure trove of amazing seeds super affordable to bring pieces of this magical place to Loveland to share with people not wanting to fight i-25 to Denver.
You have got to experience this breathtaking place! I promise you'll find at least one thing you'll love or will give you wonder.🌺🏵🌻🌼🌷🍀🍁🌹

I went around end of Spring and enjoyed every part of the gardens. The cactus room, bonsai garden, and herb area were so wonderful. All the water fountains and ponds gave the place a peaceful, beautiful vibe. I recommend checking out the cafe as well.
Brayden Ainzuain
Just wow! Beautiful botanical garden. I was so impressed by the diversity of the flora. I loved the cactus room. The little paths around the grounds were so nice. I took plenty of breaks at the different benches they had. The water features and bodies were so peaceful! I really recommend everyone to visit and take their time :)
Kenneth Sims
Highly recommend this place for a beautiful walk through luscious gardens of beautiful flowers and colors. The membership is worth it if you live nearby and enjoy walks. The gardens are less crowded than the parks most days. The events are great too. Try and catch and music events they have
Caroline Whittemore
We first arrived at about 10:00 and the parking was completely full. Because we bought the city pass we didn’t have to get any tickets or anything. I don’t remember exactly what happened but we had to call them and the employee was very friendly and helped us. We came back at around 12 and were able to find a parking space. It was well worth the wait, a humid tropical greenhouse and many colorful flowers. It was very accommodating for people in wheelchairs and all the signs also had a translation in Spanish. If you do visit be sure to bring sunscreen, water, and good walking shoes. The gift shop was also nice (didn’t get any pictures, it was very crowded) perfect place for pictures, a date, or just a place to go with the family. Also warning there’s a ton of bees
Jennifer Stenger
What a beautiful place. Worth a day trip if your visiting. So much to see. A membership would be in order if you lived here. A great date night/day spot!! The cafe, the Hive, has great iced coffee and pizza. Some areas could use more floral diversification but they are renovating multiple areas. I will return
Kinsey Streib
Beautiful place for a fall wedding! The Woodland Mosaic area of the Denver Botanic Gardens was the perfect intimate setting for our Halloween morning wedding. The fall leaves were colorful, and the morning light filtered perfectly through the green solarium windows. We were able to have our ceremony in the solarium, then mingle for cocktail hour in the space outside while our caterers flipped the solarium space for our lunch reception. Macey was great to work with! I would definitely recommend the Gardens to any bride.
Joshua Kaminski
The best thing I did in Denver.
Highly recommend this space. One of the most diverse and beautiful gardens in the world! Large space, make sure to walk around it all. It should take a few hours.
Dita Desiana
Clean and nice garden with varieties of flora. Tickets for non member are reasonable ($15 for adults, $11.50 for senior and $11 for children). We went there at summer so it was hot but there are quite a lot of shades. They have educational building, green house, amphitheater, ponds and restaurants inside. There's children garden but you have to purchase separate tickets, but it looks like a fun place for children.
Alisa Berton
I haven’t been to the botanical gardens in years and I was pleasantly surprised. The moved away from flowers and now have beautiful plants. These gardens were absolutely stunning. There is a house that over looks the herb garden and i’m sure in the summer they leave their windows open to get a hint of the fragrant species. We saw a baby duckling and a baby bunny in the vegetation. Still had some beautiful flowers but the real beauty was in the plant all along.
Mark Stenstrom
Beautiful and meticulously maintained, the Denver Botanic Gardens on York Street is a great place to visit. For plant enthusiasts or those that love the outdoors, they have 24 acres of gardens of all varieties. They even have a very large indoor tropical conservatory that is fun to explore.
They do have on site food/restaurant and events are held at the gardens year round and hold classes as well with events listed online.
Masks are encouraged in indoor spaces.
Most gardens and facilities are wheelchair or stroller accessible but not all.
Tickets should be purchased online prior to arrival. There is ample free parking in the parking garage.
Katerin Ortega
I loved my time spent at the Denver Botanic Gardens. There was a great diversity of flowers and grass; such amazing views. The food that was in the gardens was also spectacular! I would definitely recommend to anyone who comes to Denver to visit it and try out the food that's located inside the gardens; I didn't' try the restaurant that's close to the entrance, but the other place is worth it!
Calvin S
Absolutely amazing! This is undoubtedly the BEST botanical gardens I have ever visited. It is huge, so be prepared to walk and spend at least half of your day here. If you are looking for a place to take pictures, this is also a good place for that as there are many options.
Mitch Williams
One on the nicest gardens you will find. Lots of gardens that cover a wide variety of US climates. Well maintained. Signs (directional) need to be a little better. The water lilies and lotus were some of the best I’ve seen
Adam Kaplan
5 stars for the tropical exhibit alone. They have a nice variety of gardens. The Chihuly was beautiful. Parking across the street was plentiful, go around the block to enter the garage. Don't bother with the small lot just across from the entrance.
Moon Jung Lee
The best time to go to the botanical gardens? May - October. And of course, December for the lights at night! Every summer I go and I get some amazing pictures of the plants and flowers that they exhibit! It’s a nice escape from the city if that’s what you’re looking for!
Htoo Myat
This is a must-visit place when you visit Denver. It may be smaller in size compared to other cities but this is probably the most action-packed botanical garden per square feet. Not only the outdoor displays and walking tour area but also has a great greenhouse with beautiful tropical plants. And there is so much to discover. It's great even just to take a stroll around peacefully on your own. If you're visiting the town, you must check out this place, if you live in Denver, you should probably get a membership. This is a great place to just hang out like your personal garden in the city. The area itself is also pretty nice with a park next door that you can explore when you're out of the gardens.
Kymberly Botelho
The Denver Botanic Gardens are so beautiful. The Lilly pads are my favorite. My children love to explore the Science Pyramid and Children’s Garden. And they met an adorable cat named Uzi (not sure if they are apart of the grounds or a neighborhood cat)
The Botanic Gardens has a wonderful program called Summer Low Sensory Mornings that offer families with sensory issues to attend at no cost.
lynda whitlow
I love this place so much. Had not been in quite some time, used to be a member, think will again soon. Spent around 4 hours there today resting, looking at the plant life and having some yummy eats. Got a bath bomb on way out from the gift shop. It's such an amazing place if ever been even when it is crowded.
Nicholas C
You'll get the most out of the Denver Botanical Gardens around this time of year as everything is in full bloom and the winter days (hopefully) are behind us during the year. My favorite section was the Japanese garden, however I only wish they would open up the Japanese tea house for the crowd's viewing pleasure, as it compliments the bonsai area very well. Also, the cacti blossoms were really something this season!
An Pham
This place was very beautiful! There were so many different plants I'd never seen before, and honestly at first glance I thought they were fake! The setup was very nice, and you can easily get from one exhibit to another. Special shout outs to the bonsai garden and the Japanese garden!
Crystal Ware
Beautiful and well-maintained gardens. Love visiting year-round. It's much larger than you might think - expect to spend a couple of hours meandering the paths. Lots of seating options throughout the garden.
John LastName
A few things my wife and I do when visiting other cities, 1)look for the best donuts, 2)look for the best croissant 3) find the best park, and visit the local botanical gardens..... especially if they participate with the affiliate program with our own Louis Ginter (Richmond). So, we've seen plenty of botanical gardens, and this one was excellent.
Lo Wood
So strange to me that it took so long for me to walk around this magical place. I hope to be back during all seasons and experience more of their events. It was fun seeing people taking care of the water plants! Also worth going inside to the art museum
Tracy Bertapelle
If you love gardens and love gardening you're going to love the botanic gardens. Every time I go I enjoy every minute of it even if it's pouring rain on a free day. I don't care if I'm soaking wet to the Bone it was awesome!! 🥰👍 …
Sheraz Ahmed (Your Sir Jee)
Denver Botanic Gardens our first experience to visit any Garden, really try his was great experience to see beautiful nature in a small area with plenty of different plants well organized. There was much to see specially who are more closer to nature and who are planting flowers and plants at home and also very useful for students for related subjects.
Really this was nice and wonderful experience, we possibly will visit in Houston too.
Michelle Ellis
Blossoms of Light is my new favorite holiday light experience in Denver! The displays were absolutely stunning - it felt like walking through a wonderland. 10/10 would highly recommend making this an annual Christmas tradition.
Ron
Very beautiful! Reasonable price for the value you get. So many things to see in a huge space. Loved the esthetic of the garden and how clean it is. So many colors and different shapes of plants, bushes and trees. Tons of pictures you can take :). Super recommended.
Big Mickey
Jaw dropping incredible and easily top five botanical gardens in the entire United States. Cannot recommend enough. You have to buy tickets online, same day is possible. Be prepared, sunscreen and something to fix your dropped jaw.
Pepe Dawgg
Wouldve given 5 stars if so many of the attractions werent closed or looked a bit derelict, but the ones that were open were so beautiful!
I especially loved seeing some of my houseplants in a more natural habitat. So big and beautiful and amazing.
Ryan Province
The best Botanical Gardens I've been to in the country - by far. Extremely well laid out, many unique sections to merandor through. Easy to follow a loop to view all the areas, while still having many hidden nooks to relax and find privacy to appreciate the beauty. Hard to imagine this is in the middle of the city, for they mask the external sites with trees quite well. Absolutely adored the reflections off the ponds and the general viewscapes that seemed to be in every direction. It was hard to put the camera down. Highly recommend for all occasions - dates, little kids, friends, photography, weddings, just go. Extremely affordable for a lifetime memory.
Scott Dykstra
I have never seen the winter lights and lived in Colorado most my life. It is super nice event. They have a single path setup to walk through. Which is nice since it is dark and easy to get lost. I will definitely go again.
Joseph Vaudreuil
Went for the Botanical Light Show, loved it. Some of the lights were automated and fantastic to view. The walkthrough light tunnel was really cool as was the field of lights at the end. They really jam pack the place with lights and it's quite magical and entirely secular, a true celebration of the season.
Lindsey Itamoto
Very beautiful , efficient layout of the gardens. A lot to see. Dedicate at least 1.5 hours to enjoy and experience everything. A beautiful brunch or lunch spot. Lots of flora, plants from all over the world to see .
We visited during October and the garden was putting on a Halloween themed exhibit. A lot of effort and care by the Garden Staff.
Would love to visit again in the summer or spring time.
Christopher Gorrie
Incredible botanical gardens! One of the best I’ve ever been to. This is an extensive installation that is impressive and breathtaking. Truly one of my favorite places in Denver, these gardens are well-curated, -arranged, and -kept.
Visiting here was a complete joy and I truly hope to come again — it is very large and you can’t take it all in in a single two-hour stroll.
Kim Woodrum
What a nice place. Even in the Winter. We are going to come back for the Christmas Lights. We got a glance of it todY as they are working to place all the lights... and lovely music. Water falls. So beautiful. Such diversity in the plants.
Kacie Morgan
A beautiful array of plants from many areas, definitely worth at least a trip, better to visit during the spring/summer months as most of the displays are outdoors. Pathways are fairly narrow and not fully maintained.
Joshua Knight
Gorgeous plants any time of year, helpful staff, sanctuary, place of rest. We went on the free day in November and it was not too busy in the afternoon. We had a delightful time there even though many of the plants were dormant. You could go into the tropical zone to warm up or to feel nice humidity and gorgeous blooming plants. See some cacti in the air and zone. See your gorgeous pond in the Japanese soon. See a nice Jewish and Christian garden. See my pictures. They have composting and recyclable baskets on site. They have a map that you can take a picture of the QR code and then get a nicer map right on your phone. However, we just liked to work
Dana Parcher
The Blossoms of Light was a wonderful winter experience. Around every corner was a new view of a different kind of decoration. I loved the timed lights at the very end the best! Definitely a great family fun experience!
Karen Vizcarra
This wonderful place has a fair entry price of $15 per adult on site. Make sure to bring a hat and wear sunscreen during the hottest hours because it’s a long walk. Most spaces are wheelchair accessible.
Mikayla Robertson
Woodland Mosaic at Denver Botanic Gardens is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding! It’s gorgeous, the colors and lighting are amazing, and your photos will be amazing. Also, it’s very accessible for guests who may need assistance.

Had an amazing time at the Botanical Garden. The pear salad was amazing as well. Multiple gardens to see and have piece of peace in Denver. Great for a date or even a little solo self love trip.

Review is for the light show “Blossoms of Lights”. Awesome light show throughout the botanical garden. Easy parking on the opposite side of road. Light show has a one-way guided path very easy to follow. Must see for the winter months !
Dallas Dresco
This place was breathtaking!! I am so happy I got to add this as one of my stops visiting Colorado. I recommend everyone goes. So many things to see and experience as the property is HUGE!!
Kallee Brownlee
I have a membership here and go all the time. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful. I love doing my work here and then taking a break to walk around. Some days are much busier than others. The Japanese Garden is my favorite area.
M Payler
This year’s Blossom of Lights is surprisingly different than past years - even the pathway is different in its direction. But no fear - it’s beautiful with grand holiday light vistas around every corner. Your favorites are still here but the joy of surprise is delightful and a true present to all of Denver and Colorado…and a great place to take guests to really show off the beauty of our urban paradise. Cheers!
Holly
Several nice indoor things to see in the winter including a high rainforest environment, small cactus area with a lot of different little cactus 🌵, plant related art exhibit with a really neat exhibit about history of cultivated species, and a kids-orinented enclosure. Looks like a well maintained as varied establishment and I am looking forward to seeing during the growing season sometime.
Cameron Rankin
Today was my first time at the DBG and it was jaw dropping. The incredible diversity of the plants in this garden are a true testament to the beauty and fragility of the planet. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Denver area especially if you haven't been before. The Hive Garden Bistro also has the best Chai Latte and Sweet Potato Fries in the area so make sure to go get em hot on a cool day
Kevin and Christine Baissac-Hayden
A beautiful, peaceful place! The food is also good. The space is diverse, but it's not too big, you can easily do it in a couple of hours! It is wheelchair friendly and parking is free!
Kevin Saavedra
Yo, this place rules!!
The gardens are so well-maintained and laid out to draw your interest multiple places (so many places, in fact, that I had choice paralysis). There's a great gallery space too, which featured some really cool art.
I don't think there's any bad time of the day to come, either. There's so much shade and plenty of places to sit and relax.
The one exhibit that I thought was lackluster was the science pyramid, which has a distinctly 90s vibe and needs a complete revamp considering it's a focal point of the gardens.
It took us about 3 hours to walk the garden. York and 7th is a good place to park.
Kelly Lindsey
The DBG is absolutely gorgeous. They have an impressive variety of plants, well manicured grounds, gorgeous architecture, and you may even get to see a rabbit or two! Cannot recommend enough!
Kathleen Catherine
We are trying to go every season to see how the gardens look during each phase. This is a great place for homeschooling families, even in the winter there is so much to learn and see. I have two in elementary, one in middle, and one in high school and they all had an enjoyable and educational time.
Jeane Elam
I can’t share my most beautiful pictures because I can’t have people stealing such gorgeous shots. This place is so beautiful. We went nice and early in the morning and it was so relaxing to walk through. I highly recommend!
Jeffrey Stembridge
Totally Outstanding. The Nurseries are all around kept up with, heaps of natural life living here. I went towards the finish of the time and it was all the while stunning so I can't picture what it resembles when all that first springs. Strongly prescribe ensuring you make time to go into the nursery!
Saraii LM
Love going here for both warm seasons and holiday seasons. It’s beautiful, peaceful, you get to learn, and have fun. If you haven’t done the Blossoms of Light event for the Christmas lights, you need to. It’s wonderful and I’ll keep visiting every time I need a little nature and photography fix:)
Mark Girard
Beautiful gardens! There were weddings so we couldn't see one of the indoor gardens. These were taken kn September. Late summer and still had tons of flowers. I bet it's even better in spring. Can't wait to go again. Perfect for dates, family picnics and solo reading spots.
d kondora
Went to Celebrate Earth Day which also was a Free Day. Very popular for families on a Free Day. Parking was Very Limited. The gardens and walking paths were Well Kept. Hoped to see the Famous Corpse Plant, but it was in the Green House and out of sight because it only blooms every 7 years.
Abdulaziz
Great place to spend a couple of hours. Beautiful plants, trees, flowers,...
Overall peaceful place to visit. Tickets has to be purchased online and cost $15 for the adult.
Zack Hintz
Beautiful gardens both outdoor and an indoor exhibit as well! Just about everything under the sun they have growing there. I was able to see chocolate grow, papaya trees, strawberry guava, and more from the inside exhibit we toured. Outside were luscious gardens full of flowers, trees, and other plants! There's several ponds throughout the gardens with some gorgeous water fountains, and each pond seemed to be connected by small cannals, keeping the flow of water circulating! In the ponds were some beautiful water lillys, a few ducks, and as many koi carp / gold fish as you could count! There's also an herb garden, which is a delight to walk through, each plant more refreshing smelling than the last! All in all it's a pretty wonderful facility and I'd recommend it to both locals or anyone touring the area!
Matthew Sosa
It's very beautiful and they have a wide variety of plants. I went in the winter, but they have indoor tropical gardens with amazing plants. The science pyramid is full of interactive displays.
Rachel W
A great way to spend your time. I enjoyed the Japanese garden. We saw so many animals just doing their thing. I would be glad to visit again.
Jessica Krueger
Very beautiful and wide variety of plants and flowers. The treehouse room was awesome! Give yourself a few hours to truly embrace and enjoy these gardens
Megan Hinrichs
This was a beautiful place, spent 6 hours here and could have spent more. Very serene and lots of variety of life. Seems like a great spot for anyone to enjoy.
Rafael Linares
This place is Amazing!! It was absolutely beautiful and the workers were so incredibly nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're looking to host an outdoor event. 😊 …
Jess Hughes (saxyjess)
This is a great place to learn about such a wide variety of plants, both new and familiar, with stunning landscapes for photos. Parking was free and easy, and tickets were available at the door as well as online. Each section is beautifully and uniquely landscaped to showcase not only the plants themselves but also the climates where they thrive. All of the informational signs are printed side by side with English and Spanish, and they can teach you about the ecosystems and environments these plants come from. The Conservation Garden was especially interesting, and the Cactus and Succulent House offers hundreds of fascinating specimens of all shapes and sizes. Since I came in the spring everything was in bloom, and the Steppe and Iris Gardens were especially beautiful. The tropical conservatory was a huge highlight for me, featuring beautiful banana trees, huge calatheas, many varieties of pothos and philodendron, as well as some fruiting trees like guava, coffee, and cacao! The multi-level structure inside allows you so many incredible views, and the elevator ensures they’re accessible to everyone. There’s so much to see here, from the educational science pyramid to the featured art in the galleries, it’s definitely worth the trip.
Rae
WOW PLANT GIRL BLOWN AWAY!! This place is huge and has so much to look at and basically every plant girls dream! There were so many flowers in bloom and even had artwork to look at as well. I’m from FL where majority of the Chihuly artwork is located, so it was great to see that all the way over here! One more thing, they have a Japanese Garden and I highly recommend checking it out, I’d include those pics but I don’t want to spoil it!!
Tarabori
One of the most special places in Denver. If you love plants, the earth or just nature in general, this is a MUST go for all ages. The tropical part is awesome with a tree house like view! 10/10 would recommend to anyone really! (Great coffee and the coffee shop Cafe too!)
Rodica Mihalis
Another must experience if you are in Denver at If Must have experience if in Denver at Christmas time. Tickets must be purchased in advance online as they are timed. The first group enters the gardens at 4:30 pm and the Botanical Gardens close at 2:30 pm, so don’t arrive more than 10 minutes in advance. If you do, there is a great Coffee shop, The Cooper Door, where you could have a great coffee or a delicious non caffeinated Mochica latte.
Jencie Anthony
Absolutely beautiful! Although it’s fall and some plants haven’t survived, everything about this place is wondrous! The leaves changing color only added to the experience. The best part was the tropical greenhouse! Definitely a great place to spend some time.
Reid Thomas
Exhibits were absolutely stunning and the whole experience was a definite do again!
Parking was easy in the lot across the street.
The only thing I would suggest is adding music to the entire exhibit instead of the entrance & the end. That would really add to the excitement & entertainment. Really great job!
Jennie Day
I enjoyed the visit and look forward to a future visit when EVERYTHING is in bloom. Still plenty to enjoy and see. A few water features, early spring blooms and tropical plants in the atrium were a delight.
Edward Bean
What’s not to love about gorgeous gardens, flowers, plants and trees that you don’t have to water, weed or pamper? Denver Botanic Gardens is an idyllic setting that offers something for everyone, young and old, master gardener or those like myself with a less than green thumb.
The DBG is easy to get to and offers ample parking right across the street. Once inside the walls there are lots of options. You can duck inside the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory or stay outside and enjoy the incredible variety of plantings along the paths and walkways. There are also two places to grab a bite to eat with good food.
Chris Rogus
This is unquestionably my favorite botanic garden I have ever been to (and I've been to a bunch in the USA). It has a wide range of very beautifully curated biomes, of sorts, and is incredibly artistic. The cafe is very nice as well, and even in mid july, the weather is so fantastic for such a sunny day!
Sarah Craig
Such a beautiful area in the city! Loved all the different exhibits and how you can walk through so many different types of landscapes and plants.
Brooke Carlton Heinsohn
Big fan. 🧚🏽
This garden feels more like a breathtaking community center~ equipped with an interactive educational facility & a giant field that doubles as an event space.
The water lily display was immaculate! If you’re lucky, you’ll see turtles swimming under the lily pads. The black water creates a reflective pool that merges city with nature.
There is an extensive bonsai tree exhibit with native Colorado species. Don’t even get me started on the smell of the pine trees!! Rejuvenating for the soul.

This place is always an enjoyable experience. The plant varieties are just incredible. The only downside is the amount of weddings. Some of the best areas are closed for private events, yet the admission price doesn't reflect the change in exhibit availability. The last time I came, there was 6 weddings. Today, there was 2.
If 12% of the areas are closed for private events, why is there not a 12% discount?
Kaeli Rich
It was beautiful. There's flowers and plants all over. It feels as if you are walking through a flower jungle. There's both indoor & outdoor flower areas. A truly gorgeous place to walk around.
Ian Davis
Gorgeous botanical garden offering a diverse selection of plants from a variety of climates. Particularly loved the rainforest section, and the bio dome looked so cool
Maren Olsen
Absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend coming here as a stop in your Denver trip, even if you live here. The scenery is breath taking. They work super hard to keep up on it all. Great place to take photos. Bring a digital camera, or a power bank for your phone! I can guarantee you'll get some stunning shots of the flora here. I've included a few of my own!
Dasha Motsar
Recommend to visit botanical garden if you first time in Denver or live here it’s a cool garden with different outdoor plants and different varieties of ponds. Also they have live music and cafe to eat outdoor.

The Denver Botanical Garden is a place that I'll come back to. I was blown away by the beautiful plants and flowers. The color combinations that are placed together are beyond words. If you're in Denver, go to the botanical garden!
Dizzy Duzz
Enchanting holiday display that winds you through a colorful fantasy of holiday cheer.
Tropical water feature indoors allows you to warm yourself along the way.
Cannot wait to see it now, in Spring, when the huge array of plants and flowers are in bloom.
Plenty of parking in a well lit parking garage. Gift shop and bistro on site as well. Beautiful pavilions and fountains provide great spaces to read a book and relax inside a tranquil oasis in the midde of the Denver metro.
Dizzy Duzz Denver Botanic Gardens!!
Gloria B
Absolutely beautiful gardens great for pictures and overall vibes. Highly recommend the visit if you are in the Denver area.
Liv R
Year round, there are always great reasons to visit the Denver Botanic Gardens! Seeing everything bloom in the spring and summer is beautiful. The entire garden smells great, and there’s an area focused on just herbs and smells much stronger (in the most pleasant way!). You can easily spend too much time here, whether it’s sitting on one of the many benches to read a book, or checking out interactive areas. During the winter, the Blossoms of Light event lets you see the space in a completely different way and they do not hold back on their lights!
The food and beverage options are fresh and reasonably priced. The gift shop has some of the coolest home and garden pieces making it hard to resist leaving without something from the shop. You can also rent one of the indoor areas for private events!
Ruby Davila
It was our first time! Originally, I am from Texas and came to colorado to visit. We were at another location, and it was recommended we visit. 10/10!!! I got tickets for York street; it did not disappoint! Spent about an hour to an hour and a half, so you do get your tickets worth. The views are phenomenal, like no other.
Suelen
These gardens are gorgeous and lovely. Make sure to purchase tickets in advance and visit it in the morning to avoid huge crowds!
Katherine Stuber
If this bunny doesn't make you love botanical gardens, I don't even know why you're reading these reviews. One of my favorite gardens I have ever toured. Gorgeous and educational, approachable size, coffee shop and library on site, and oh yeah, nearly tame bunnies. Go!
Emily Paul
The Denver Gardens blow other arboretums out of the water. So spacious, beautiful, and flooded with colors. The indoor plant area was particularly beautiful and flourishing. Would recommend to anyone visiting the city.
Jimmy Blann
The respect of plant life, ((WOW)) it's really educational about our life and our surroundings being singular. We all have something to offer this planet. Life. I challenge you to plant a flower
Danielle Nicole
Came for the Blossoms of light and it was awesome! Just wish they sold alcohol. The loaded hot chocolate was delicious though. Great job on coordinating the Light colors and making the path clear to follow
psych_nurse mama
Perfect afternoon spent with my son and his school friend. The children 's garden has meaningful activities and please to explore and create. We can't wait to come back!
Tater Tot
Went for Blossoms of Lights. Amazing peaceful and stress free atmosphere. Took us about 45 mins to get through the path. So beautiful!!! Definitely a must see! Light show at the end.
Omar GG
It was a wonderful experience. I loved it and I will definitely come back with my family. Usually they are not busy on the weekends between 5 and 7pm.
Brinn Garcia-Mcghee
Wow 🤩 so lovely (even in early spring). I loved the landscape, water features and especially the impressive greenhouse. It’s nice they have yearly memberships, otherwise it’s a little pricey. …
Amber Blanco
This was beautiful place to visit with a bunch of walking trails and the Cafe was great to eat at as well. We enjoyed it very much.
Kae Zenisek
Absolutely beautiful. So many paths to follow and every plant you could imagine. Sadly I missed little stinky's bloom by a few hours.
Gabriel Phoenix
A wonderfully diverse, expansive gardenscape meticulously manicured to perfection. There are so many unique biospheres to enjoy it feels like you’re walking around the globe in an afternoon. Recommended!
Eugenia P.
“A piece of summer in the winter” I visited on June 2021, just forgot to post photos.
I was so enjoyed and excited of this visit.
So many bright colors, patterns and good vibes.
Eli Sprague
This was wayyyy better than I expected! Absolutely loved it! I was hesitant for $15/person but it’s a huge campus and post fact think it was worth it.
We probably spent 2-3 hours here
Kathleen Sapiro
We got married at the botanical gardens on October 31st 2021. We were a little worried about the weather as we booked the Woodland Mosaic. So glad we did this booking! It was a little chilly, but Blaine set us up with a wonderful heating option. I was comfortable in my dress the entire time from ceremony to reception and so were our guests! Danae and staff We're so refined and experienced! They were there for me the entire time even through some of the pictures. SPOT ON AMAZING!!!
Kaitlyn Holeman
One of the best outdoor wedding venues in Denver! Tons of great photo opps, great vendor team, and a nice variety of options for ceremonies here.
Tylee
Absolutely a must whether you live in Denver or are just visiting. The admission prices are budget friendly and you get to see so much! I’ve lived in Denver for many years and haven’t gotten to come here before but I wish I had come sooner. Such a refreshing place considering all of the craziness that’s happening today. Great place for the whole family to go and find some peace. The scenery is absolutely amazing, I can’t even describe how beautiful it all was.
Todd Sproule
A truly delightful place to wander around to enjoyo the well tended gardens and exhibits. This was a high-light of my visit to Denver!
Betty NvK
We visited the Denver Botanic Gardens in june 2022. It is an incredible experience, so many beautiful plants and flowers and there are many things to learn! An absolute "must see" if you visit Denver!

Such a beautiful place. We had a lot of fun walking around and checking out all the beautiful plant. I especially loved the tropical plants enclosure.

Gopika Raveendran
The best place to relax, unwind & be amidst nature. The Park is a big one but it's definitely worth it...went recently And enjoyed every bit of it..Lots Of families come there to enjoy. The park is well maintained. Truly worth a visit.

The place is well constructed and well maintained
Amazing place for hangout with friends or family
Lot of greenery a lovely amphitheater and venue for concerts , can find here.we took the annual membership for 90$.Can’t wait to go back!
Luis Daniel
Certainly worth the price of admission. Can get very crowded. Also make sure to bring your own refreshments or snacks, there isn't much to buy here.
Dr. Greg Garrison
Love this place! Go during summer to see the beautiful plants kind of goes dormant in winter/fall but still pleasant to walk the gardens! Plenty of free parking in a garage
Definitely worth checking out if visiting Denver
Japanese Garden is my favorite but all of the gardens has its own charm! Just opened art studio next store and they have places to eat on premise with all recyclable biodegradable plates and cups for the environmentalist out there!
Andy G
I go a couple times a year. Come out for spring and you'll get to see everything coming out. Summer is full color. And they have events that are interesting most recently was the holiday lights.
Lina Nandy
These gardens were stunning. So many beautiful spots and different types of gardens (tropical, Victorian, romantic, etc).
Ashley Robertson
The Christmas light festival was incredible and so thoroughly decorated! The music-synchronized displays were hypnotic
Max Goldberg
Beautiful and relaxing place, definitely worth the admission price. You can easily spend a few hours wandering the gardens and exploring various paths. Made a bunny friend too :)
Katrina
yes to a membership! just renewed mine. love going to brunch here. if you live walking distance to the garden, paying extra for the cheeseman gate entrance is a another yes!!!
Daniel Han
Beautiful, scenic and large area. The ticket price for guests is definitely worth it for the value that you get, especially if you like plants, gardens, etc.! I walked around for 2 hours and still didn’t get to look at everything I wanted to. Highly recommend visiting if you’re visiting Denver. There is parking across the street, and they also have a restaurant inside (albeit a bit pricey).
Marisa Martinez
This is definitely my favorite botanical garden I’ve been to! Everything is kept up nicely, the food is a great value for your money, and there’s so much to see! My boyfriend and I spent 3.5 hours here. Can’t wait to come back on my next trip to Denver!
Gina Renee
Great place to causally walk and observe the amazing plants. Love the art area as well!
Michael Snyder (Emphatik)
Absolutely wonderful!! I love botanical gardens and this is one of the best ones I have been to. Make sure to walk all the paths and go in all the buildings!
Jennifer Barish
Just moved to Colorado and had to come here! The first place we went was in the tropical... area lol. SO COOL!! This is one of the best kept and most beautiful garden I've been to. There are so many little paths you can take to really immerse yourself into the scenery. I will absolutely be back to explore more.
Pamela Smith
Great place sooo... beautiful there is beauty around every corner in this place great exercise while enjoying all mother nature has to offer. So many plants and flowers and trees!!
Calarrow
Great selection of plants here, even in the late summer! Will definitely be back in the spring to see even more blooming flowers! Definitely check out the indoor gigantic plant section and their bonsai collection! A horticultural dream
Ava Deleski
Gorgeous, vast gardens with a multitude of species, colors, shapes, etc. Many branching paths lead to enclaves, gazebos, fountains, and even small lakes + a restaurant thrown in! Amazing place for a family walk, a date, a friend or anything else really.
Luis “Mr.Kopriti” Glinos
It was a beautiful place to visit, probably in the summer is even better as a lot of the flora was dying due to the winter cold coming in. Also a lot of the plants and trees don't have any indication as to what they are and that leaves you guessing what it is. Used the city pass for admission and it was very affordable.
Ashesh Sharma
Blossom of lights so well organized!! Each section had a different color and decoration theme. Although the zoo lights still feel more magical.
Adrianne Wagner MA, NCC
An oasis in the city- acres of beautifully manicured and curated experiences! You can also visit the inside galleries for featured artists. Ursula Von Rydingsvard was so interesting and complex in her work and story- a powerful exhibition!
Serina Forsythe
Since moving to the Denver area, I've loved visiting the Botanic Gardens. I plan on bringing family whenever they come to visit, no matter the season, as this is definitely a year -round garden which changes with the seasons. Simply gorgeous, and different every time.
Vamsi Kanamaluru
Must visit for any nature lover! This is one of the better botanical gardens I've seen, with a great variety of plants, shrubs and trees. The tropical conservatory is a highlight. Plan for at least 2 hours to see all of it.
Rushi
Visited this garden during summer of 2022 and it was so peaceful and beautiful. They have some nice restaurants and food options as well. I really enjoy my time here.
Holly Elizabeth Girouard
Great place to take the in-laws. We got lucky and went on a free day. Gorgeous every time of the year.
April Roy
Beautiful gardens. Huge collection of blooming lily pads. Grounds are expansive. Well worth the trip.
Nicole Worsham
Gorgeous! A nice way to spend the afternoon with a wide variety of plants and flowers from all over.
Casey Levine Bigger
Beautiful public gardens, highly recommend visiting!
The reservation process is easy and online and you can get tickets for every half hour. We went at 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday and it wasn't extremely crowded. They even had two events going with certain areas cordoned off but it didn't reduce access to any of the important areas.
There are a ton of diverse spaces from the inside greenhouses to the indoor exhibit with a treehouse and extremely tall tropical plants, to outdoor nooks and hiding places for kids and flowers galore. The garden is handled perfectly so that there's enough in bloom or soon to bloom this time of year.
The parking garage is very convenient and directly across the street, we had no issues finding parking. They have a cafe where you can get food and beverages and everything looked tasty.
Wildlife like ducks, rabbits, frogs, news, dragonflies etc can be seen while you're there and make it even more memorable. Many millions of dollars of endowments and fundraising have made this place a gem to visit.
Drew Guttadore
Recently spent an afternoon here after a 25 year gap! Wow it's extraordinary! Lots to see, weddings going on, nice little restaurant to gather a nibble or a cold drink on a hot day. I recommend the popsicles
Nikole Young
This was a wonderful experience. You can walk around for hours just taking in the atmosphere and exploring the gardens. A must see if in Denver. I was surprised at expansive the grounds were.
Sharon Doyle
The Denver Botanic Gardens was fabulous. We went at 10am on a Saturday and it was crowded but not too crowded. There were many varieties of gardens and they were all fantastic. The flowers were in full bloom and there was every brilliant color imaginable. There were also some indoor gardens too. The reflecting pools were so relaxing and serene. There was a nice outdoor restaurant with a shaded patio called the Hive and the food was good. We walked around for 3 hours. There was plenty of shade outside in the form of big trees and pavilions. They also has plenty of benches to sit on. It was a WONDERFUL day.
Elizabeth Parra
Massive botanical gardens! Themed sections in such a way that makes this a fun learning experience. Gorgeous areas, clean restrooms, and overall very well taken care of. Kids enjoyed the kids gardens just as much as the bigger garden.
Maggie Jones
Spent a good 3 or 4 hours going through and looking over the garden, despite the succulent and cactus house and science area being closed temporarily. The price for a ticket is very affordable and the trip is so worth it. We managed to go unknowingly on the day of the Rose show, which was a wonderful surprise! They had signs posted with other events happening soon. The resturuant inside was excellent and not insanely priced and the gift shop has tons of unique, nonstandard items that were quite fascinating. All the staff we spoke to were very nice
Anna Raymond
Absolutely beautiful! The conservatory was amazing. We enjoyed this experience very much! The art exhibit was a huge bonus and very cool. Something for everyone young and old.
Stephanie Zimmerman
I have been enjoying introducing friends and family members to these beautiful gardens for almost 15 years now!! Each time we visit, it is a different experience, but all worthwhile. The beauty you will see obviously varies according to the time of season, but it is always breathtaking... a definite must.
The gallery on my most recent visit (7/17/21) was impressive. The room full of Dali pieces from 1968 and then again a series from 1971 were incredible. I can’t stop thinking about them…
Deborah Bernstein
Only came in town to visit, so I definitely will be coming back here during summer time to see everything flourished and grown. So beautiful here
Meghan Murray
Blossom of lights was simply gorgeous! What a way to spend a December night. Highly recommend!
Allo Cagps
Nested in city of Denver a beautiful, peaceful gardens. Limited parkings available across the main entrance. At the moment you need the buy tickets online in advance to come in. They have 2 eatery (offshots and the hive). And they do offer member and military discounts on both cafe. Offshots offer sandwiches while the hive offer pizza, burger and selection of coffee. It's beautiful place to unwind and relax. The water Lily and lotus water garden are beautiful. The selection of tropical plants and flower at tropical gardens quite impressive. Overall good place to visit when you are in Denver.
Tony Hicks
Absolutely beautiful. The entire facility is top notch. The tropical Conservatory is really cool. According to staff (and other reviews) July and August are the best months to visit. It was still quite impressive in mid October. Staff and gardeners were quick to answer questions and everyone seemed to enjoy just strolling around or relaxing and taking a break.
Annabelle Ioffe
We had a great time. All beautiful plants and trees. One of the best part is that there were so many ducks! 3 or 4 adults and 2 smaller ones. They were so cute to watch! The pizza, salad and fries at the Hive were really good. Overall really good experience.
Nawal Yousef
Really enjoyed my time here,so relaxing and beautiful. I could've easily spent the entire day here. I really enjoyed the bonsai section, and there are many opportunities for pictures. I will certainly return!!
Brian Pooley
I absolutely love this place! It is a beautiful retreat right in the middle of the city! It is well cared for and the folks working here are very friendly! Only complaint is parking, they need more parking for those busy days!
As for the actual garden/grounds, I only wish that it was even larger! Don't get me wrong it is a good size, I just love it so much that I think it needs more acreage for more plant/landscape variety.
Again, I love it here. If you haven't been, go!
Jonathan Posthuma
Incredibly beautiful. Great variety of plants and well maintained gardens.
Sarah Hager
I very much enjoyed walking around the gardens. I LOVED the bonsai trees. They have so many creative and beautiful takes on them.
The waterfall / statue with the lily pads was also beautiful and enough cannot be said about the incredibly size of the plants in the rain forest area. It was truly incredibly to see.
I did go at a bad time of year. October, when everything is dying and it was still a really great experience.
marcus veazey
Beautiful beautiful Park. Plenty of parking areas thanks to the parking deck. Bring a water bottle, some comfortable shoes and allow between 2-4 hours so the whole park can be explored. Well thought out designs, architecture and flows all throughout the park. The attention to detail is top notch, well manicured grounds and all the plants were in great shape. A plethora of plants and structures to see and marvel at.
William Knall
We had a wonderful time at the Denver Botanical Garden. An extraordinary experience. The children really loved the Children's garden and the restaurant for a strawberry lemonade. We're definitely going back
pepper sanchez
Noches Iluminadas was a fun night with family and friends! Celebrating the lives and souls of our departed loved ones...so many beautiful altar displays and ghoulish folk dancers to fill the night! Thanks Botanic Gardens! Always a fun event...looking forward to Christmas now!
Adele Newton
We love this place! When we went last we got to see something cool. This flower only blooms every few years. Highly recommend!
Felicia Murrell
Absolutely magical place. If you are feeling down, make this a place to visit. The flowers and the wonder of nature is sure to lift your spirit.
Kathleen Vigil
It was beautiful 😍. We'll have to come back in warmer weather! But the decorations were nice too! …
Narine Harut
This is one of the best Botanic Gardens in US, I am glad I had chance to see it when I visited Denver, got tickets online, it was easy, garden was beautifully designed and decorated, so many beautiful flowers and plants, different types of gardens, best Conservatory and more...
Highly recommend for everyone who will visit Denver
Alex Guidera
Beautifully kept grounds. Plenty of space to wander and discover. I will be back
Christina ODonnell
Absolutely beautiful. It goes on forever and covers many different flora and fauna. You can spend a whole day here and still not see everything! Highly recommend!!
Michael Taylor
It was one best places I went to visit on my trip to Denver Colorado. It was so big, it is hard to see everything! I need to go again to see more of the garden.I plan to go see the garden in September 13-17,21 1of theses days during that week. I went there on 9/15/2021. I found all the places i did not see when i was there the last week in July 2021.
Malexanimating Channel
Visited from Texas for my birthday week...I LOVED IT! I didn't think I would spend all day there. But I'm so glad we did. There is so much to see. And I left feeling I didn't REALLY see everything! The staff at the gift shop was super sweet. And staff throughout the garden were just as nice, sweet and helpful too. The food was delicious. I hope to be back for the following summer. Thanks from the Flores Family.❤️
Daniel Araki
Visiting from out of town and was immensely pleased with my experience. The gardens are large, well kept, and staff was very friendly.
There is a good variety of plants to enjoy, and informative plaques to read. The space is wonderful and there is various quiet areas for contemplation. Will definitely be back!
Margs Musson
Last night was a great night for the lights!!! The limited tickets really helped to make the experience more enjoyable. My favorite part was the water globes.
Ethan - MyLifeStartsNowGO!!
The coolest place right in the middle of Denver. You’d never know it was there and once inside, you’d never know you’re in a big city. Beautiful flowers, plants, trees etc. So peaceful. Loved the Bonsai garden.
James Ong
Worth going to. Huge place and lots of nice plants to see.
James Porter
Not a ton of shade when it's hot and sunny but the variety in the gardens is great! Gorgeous space in the middle of the city. From an herb garden to roses, Japanese gardens etc. Well worth spending a few hours here.
Brittany McKenzie
Truly spectacular. I wish some of the buildings were open but they weren't because of covid. It's a very large place, be prepared for a lot of walking. It did get a bit crowded, despite the fact that there are "timed entry" tickets. There were a few "road blocks" because of this where the paths were small and you had to go back the way you came because of people that are stopped. Definitely set aside a good chunk of time, wear good shoes, and bring sunscreen.
RJ
My wife and I visited for the second time. The first time was in the winter for an orchid show and everything outdoors was dormant. The weather was in the upper 80s, so we spent only about 4 hours here. If you want to walk on every available foot path at a leisurely pace and have some food in the middle, you could spend 5 or 6 hours here. There is shade here and there however much of the gardens are in the open sunshine, so be prepared to create your own shade if that is of concern to you. There were a lot of people there and the parking was close to capacity, yet we could still see and enjoy whatever we wanted. The only time the crowd was an issue was the lines for food and getting a table to eat. Beware that you need to purchase your tickets online and be able to print your tickets or show them on a smartphone. You cannot use cash or a credit card and buy tickets onsite. Perhaps when we get past COVID this will change, but for now this is the setup.
The salad (The Pollinator Salad) is from the outside Cafe called The Hive. It has smoked salmon ($16) and was quite good. We each has this salad, with 2 glasses of tea and 15% tip and our bill was just under $50.
If we like flowers and a peaceful leisurely stroll through them, we will enjoy this place.
Virginia Moore
The gardens are beautiful, but small. A lot of their plants are poorly kept in that they are not pruned and portions are not well-organized. Also, there are very few signs to tell you what plants you are looking at. Information is definitely lacking.
Britney Fuqua
This place is so much fun. A beautiful place to get some easy excercise. They have a main entrance which is miles of beautiful botanicals and across the road is the childrens area. The childrens area is really nice, they have a vegetable garden and a nice kiddie stream for children to walk through. It is very easy to spend hours here. Bring comfy shoes and plenty of water. Plan to spend a whole day.
Erika (EC Allen)
A beautiful place to walk around! Most plants are well marked, and it is a great variety. There are great plaques on plant stewardship and conservation, as well as fun facts. Just bring a hat! There are a lot of unshaded areas.
Bill Clugston
Fascinating botanical garden that displays the diverse biomes of the state of Colorado. Beautiful water displays that morph in to alpine desert displays. And if you want more than Colorado there are Japanese water gardens and tropical rain forests.
Ample parking is available with small restaurants on the grounds.
Candace Bradam
We are members of the botanical gardens and stopped by the Denver location on a vacation for a morning filler. The parking was difficult at first as the lot it leads you to is very small and was full by 9:30 am but once we circled back around and found the garage entrance it was easy. We went in mid-may and the blooms were just gorgeous. The greenhouses were still closed. This garden is laid out very well and the park was busy but never felt crowded. We spent about 1 1/2 hours here.
Sarah Walsh
We spent our first day in Denver at the Gardens and loved every moment of it! So many awesome things to see and a great price! I highly recommend checking it out!
Mohamed Badaoui Najjar
To say the botanical gardens were a great all-round entertainment would be an understatement. We started at the art galleries where we had an amazing food/ plant art Dali and Sloan collections. We then tired the amazing gardens, the orangery, the evergreens display, the tropical enclosure. An absolute must visit for all the family
James Percival
Absolutely stunned by how many varieties of pants they have. Could seriously spend all day in here. Great place to relax and enjoy some peaceful beautiful plants. Extremely impressed with the depth and variety of specimens.
Mercedes
Very gorgeous place. Perfect for a day date. You could easily walk through the gardens and have a great conversation. The greenhouse was my favorite part. Don’t miss the gallery, it’s in the greenhouse building. Can be pretty busy and some areas were a bit underwhelming. Worth the price. Come early since parking is always full. Park on the street in the neighborhoods next to it and walk.
Walker Braddock
We came for Ghosts in the Gardens storytelling last week. We visited today to enjoy Halloween decorations, and we'll be back tonight for Glow at the Gardens. We really enjoy all of the special events, and it's great to spend a day every month or so to see how the gardens change through the seasons. Membership is definitely worth the price.
Rich James
Amazing gardens and ponds. Well worth the admission price. We lasted about 2.5 hours walking around on a 90 degree day - would have liked to stay longer!
Melanie Dugan
Besides for it being a hot summer. The gardens were Gorgeous!
Esmeralda Ramos
It was absolutely gorgeous. My fiance, friend and I watched an owl perched on top of a tree for a few minutes before he swooped down nearly just six feet above us! The bonsai trees were one of my favorite parts.
Krystyna Ruzhytska
I just want to thank the staff at the gardens for the most beautiful wedding! I broke my foot and they were so accommodating! For how beautiful it is, the price beat all the other venues we looked at! If you are thinking of having your wedding here, do it! You wont regret it!
Todd
The grounds are expansive..from koi ponds to traveling bonsai trees..cafés...intimate hidden gardens...to a multi storied green house.
A gorgeous and true gem of the city of Denver.
Stacy Weiss
Beautiful gardens, incredibly friendly staff, fantastic exhibits. Wonderful experience to share with my teenage daughter. So glad I went, and will go again for other exhibits and just to walk the serene and peaceful walkways. Amazing getaway.
Chris Smith
Tranquil. Varied, interesting and beautifully maintained. Great restaurants. Well worth a visit.
Jane Hadley
This is a wonderful, impressive, enjoyable place to visit. We also had a healthy and tasty lunch at the Off Shoots Cafe (I think that's what it's called). Don't miss this if you are visiting Denver. They have plants and flowers and trees of every description, beautifully maintained and presented. We spent 2.5 hours walking the grounds and then had lunch.
Ana Torres
The perfect place for a long walk while enjoying the beauty of all the gardens
L Ree
One of my favorite places ever! It’s absolutely beautiful.
Jimmy Zhang
Their hours are pretty limited in the winter and there’s not much to see outdoors, but the tropical plant section is still gorgeous and worth a stop!
Denby Gardiner
The Gardens hardly needs my endorsement, but I wanted to leave a review regarding our wedding last weekend. If you are considering, book them now. Andrew made our day so easy and seamless. We wanted a laid back day surrounded by beauty, and I cannot think of a better place than the Gardens. They work so well with their vendors and we truly did not have a single hiccup. I feel like we owe them our lives.
Sylvia Cortez
Great place to spend the afternoon. Beautiful!!!! Lots to see and do.
Megan Pillis
I never knew I liked Botanic Gardens until this was included in our city pass. You could easily spend all day wondering around this place. Beautiful, shady, nice staff, awesome place. Now I try to go to all botanical gardens if in the area.
Vienna Manzanares
I’ve lived in the Denver area my whole life . So when I say this Is the best place, I mean it! It is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is well kept and lively. It’s huge too so you can spend a good amount of time there. The price is very reasonable so taking the family or a group is doable. They have two different food areas, lots of seating, and indoor and outdoor areas. The staff is very nice and it’s clear they put a lot of care into maintaining the environment. I can’t recommend this place enough! I can’t wait to return!
Tyson W
Amazing gardens! Green and color everywhere. I felt like I was in another world. Very beautiful and fragrant. 100% reccomend for those that can appreciate nature.
Eric Muller
Great botanic gardens, lots to look at. Parking is convenient and free. Admission price is reasonable.
Nick Groh
Absolutely beautiful. Wandered in here on a vacation and we didn't want to wander back out. Very expansive gardens and the separation of areas leads to unique environments throughout. Internal tropic conservatory was not huge, but was almost equally as impressive as the exterior.
Lauren R.
Beautiful and well kept grounds. Tons and tons of flowers and plants, along with lots of trails and pathways leading to benches and plenty of areas to sit in the shade. Tickets were reasonably priced along with a few options to dine and grab a bit to eat. Great experience.
Adriana Maldonado
Such a beautiful place to take my little one to see all the different plants! Seen a few squirrels and nice frozen over fountains also went into the dome where there was some hands on interactive games. Super fun!
Dylan Olson
Such a beautiful and peaceful place. Smells amazing and you can learn a lot.
Edward Miller
Blossoms of Light was spectacular! Beautiful grounds and nice flow to wander through the holiday lights. 10/10 do it again!
Samantha Chamkha
With responsible mask wearing in place, Denver Botanical Gardens was a pleasant visit. Flowers in their late season preparing for winter.
Tak C Hung (Sammy)
A lot of beautiful plants to see, very thoughtful place, they do think about handicap person. That is A++++.
Ews
A beautiful garden that worth a stroll.. I think I got student discount.. but the admission is affordable.. check it out if you got time.. I did this garden in about 90 mins
Pistachio Q
A beautiful and well organized garden. A place to connect with the nature and a good place to chill with family. Would strongly recommend to pay a visit here when you visit Denver.
Nathan K
Awesome area to explore for a few hours, plus there's a great park across the street. Not very crowded when we went on a Monday afternoon and very clean. It does get hot inside the dome, fortunately lots of shade in the outdoor areas. Would recommend!

So far this has been the coolest botanic gardens that I’ve been to. Right inside the gate the dermatologist association were hanging out sunscreen samples (great work!) This place is massive and takes a few hours to enjoy. Lots of interesting and beautiful plants. My favorite was the Japanese/Bonsai garden.
Tabitha Thomas
What an honorable experience! I was humbled by the vast amount of gardens you could visit. All the staff on hand were helpful and fairly educated on the going on in the garden. The bug wildlife was pleasant and inviting. I was so pleased to see bees busy at work, dragonflies racing across the sticks, and hungry koi at the water's edge near the bridge by the Japanese garden. A majority of the plants and flowers had labels with their correct name. The gift shop had a fairly large variety of items up for purchase. I lack 5 stars because during the day there were in total: 4/Wedding celebrations. A large Selection of the gardens had been blocked off due to this fact. I digress. This was an educational and incredible adventure and I certainly expect to go again In the future.

The Dali exhibit was beautiful. The collection was on loan from my hometown so it was special to see where I live now. It was a beautiful spring day and many species were in bloom. I can't wait to return later this year to see everything in its full glory.
Kid friendly, covid compliant, kind people everywhere. Definitely a must see in Denver. Flowers and art, what more do you need? :)
Irving
The usual botanic garden with thousands of different plants and several areas with different themes. Perfect for an afternoon walk.
However, entry is a slow and inefficient hassle. For some reason they don't sell tickets on the site and they make you go to their badly designed website to purchase them online. Also it's pretty expensive considering what you get. Paying 15USD per person was definitely way too much
Dan Perkins
A relaxing way to spend the day! The gardens are beautiful and provide a great diversity of plant life from tropical plants in the greenhouse to succulents. Walking around beautiful paths and ponds with ample opportunity to sit and reflect, this space is an affordable way to spend the afternoon in Denver. This hidden gem in Denver is a great place to spend the day with your brother. Can't wait to go back!
Meghan Weston
Very pretty! No mask required outdoors (but encouraged). The greenhouse was absolutely gorgeous! Give yourself at least 1.5 hours to walk through (maybe more).
Darya Jackson
Excellent botanical garden, only second to St Louis. Fabulous water features, Café and gift shop. A wedding ceremony was taking place in a cordoned-off section of the garden during my visit. Somehow it felt disrespectful towards both the wedding guests and the garden visitors. Perhaps after the hours would have been a better choice for the wedding.

Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the best botanic(al) gardens I've ever been. Definitely, all of plants and flowers were very well taken care of. This place has tons of gardens outdoor and indoor. My favorite part of this garden was that I could find skeletons.
I went to this garden in mid October 2021 so Halloween was close. I had so much fun to take pictures of them. Also, there were lots of sculptures that I loved so much. And there are several water garden which have many beautiful water lilies.
The garden shop was selling beautiful things so you might want to check out. I highly recommend you to visit this place. Nice place to take amazing photos.

The Denver Botanic Gardens is a stunning display of nature's beauty. The well-manicured grounds boast a diverse array of plants from all over the world, arranged in intricate and picturesque displays. From the lush rainforest exhibit to the peaceful Japanese Garden, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and offer a variety of educational programs for visitors of all ages. Whether you're a lifelong gardener or simply looking to spend a relaxing afternoon surrounded by nature, the Denver Botanic Gardens is a must-visit destination.
Victoria Lopez
This was another place I did not research before visiting. Wanted to go and pass sometime while visiting in Denver. Unfortunately, my friend and I thought it would be a good idea to visit during the winter. A majority of the plants were dried or dead so we didn’t get to see much, our fault due to our poor planning. They had lights around the plants, but we went during the day so we weren’t able to see the beauty of the lights in the garden. However, we did go inside the tropical area of the garden and that turned it around a little for us. It was nice a seeing the beauty of nature and climbing up that treehouse. We also explored the tiny art exhibit inside and passed the time away from the cold air. Would love to come visit in the spring, but if you’re planning on going for the winter I would advice against it. Unless you want to see frozen ponds and dried up plants.
Dylan
You could spend a week here and not see everything. The artist galleries were beautiful and the tropical garden is a must see for any plant lover. Friendly wildlife everywhere.
Robin Watenpaugh
Lovely. The Japanese garden was beautiful. Grounds well maintained. Extra bonus was the Van Gogh flower exhibit in the new Botanical garden bldg.
Blake Hensley
This should be on your must visit list for your trip to Denver. Obviously only during warmer months afters plants have leafed out. Food is good inside. You'll probably spend an hour or two wondering around. Try not to go during the middle of the day as the Colorado sun in summer will melt you.
Ryan Long
Definitely up there on the rankings of botanical gardens I would say Madison Botanical Gardens are comparable if not better. Sonenberg gardens in upstate NY is also quite nice. Truly loved the gardens. I hope you will enjoy my recommendations!
Samantha Nicholas
I love the Denver Botanic Gardens. Summer or winter it's a great place to go and spend a few hours. Most recently I went for the Blossoms of Light (Jan 2021) and it was stunning. They had a very clear path to follow, the lights were gorgeous and it was so easy to walk through it all. I got through in about 40 minutes but I also didn't stop a lot to take photos or anything. I was surprised at how busy it was as it was very rare no one was in front or behind me. The lights were awesome and they had so many different styles for each area, definitely kept me entertained. Some of the lights were synced to music and that was fun. Definitely worth it and so pretty! They also had their little Cafe open for I assume hot chocolate and maybe some snacks, again, I didn't stop but it was nice to see it!
Summer: the botanic gardens are so fun to spend some time walking around, breathing in the fresh air and flowery scents. I've been twice, once on a vacation before I moved to Denver with a friend and once when I moved here with my mom. Each time it took about 2 hours to walk every trail and see it all. Both times I went more in the morning around 9 or 10 before the day got hot. Around 10 it does start to get busy but with all the trails and how big the gardens are it's pretty easy to maintain space or get away. Parking is free and there's so much of it! I definitely recommend going at least once and if you want a peaceful place to come frequently that's outdoors, the botanic gardens is the perfect place!
Lee Mitchel
Its beautiful here. Always. I try to come every year, to honor my mother who felt like its her second home. 40 years she's a member of African violets society. Meetings, conferences, etc.💜🦋 …
Esther shafer
Love all the gardens and the fall fun all around!!
Richard ONeil
It is an incredible evening walking and seeing the Festival of Lights... I recommend this for everyone to come and see it is amazing. My grandson loved this evening so did the entire family it took an hour to walk the site.
Pick a night and go you will not be disappointed.
Hannah R
Gorgeous spaces with so much to see. Great indoor space, lots of shade, and a great place for a stroll or an educational experience. Could’ve easily spent all day there if we had the time.
Becky Comstock
Their "blossoms of light" experience is very beautiful. I have yet to see the gardens in summer months, but if you're looking to get out & see some light displays & don't mind the cold this is a good place to start!
Jason Nelke
My favorite place to visit in the city. The Denver Botanic Gardens are always a beautiful sight, any time of the year.
Adam Cauble
We love the gardens, and visit often. Had our wedding reception there. Very nice spaces of different size depending on guest count. Professional staff helped get it all organized. 10/10!
David Saxon
Went by today and it was a bit busy, but not so much we couldn't find a spots here and there to have some quiet. Aside from a few side trails, everything was easily accessible with a single wide stroller.
Almost everything was in bloom and most of the typical attractions were open so long as you arrived by before 5 PM. Main facilities and most other attractions are open later.
They don't require masks if you are vaccinated but request one be worn if you are not. The Bistro was open, and the food was good. Things did seem a bit pricey, especially some items in the gift shop, but it typically goes to a good cause.
We'll be going back more often now that we're members. Even though it's been hot, we found plenty of shady spots to rest and some buildings are climate controlled. Worth a visit, or two, since there is so much to see!
Amanda
Inexpensive beautiful way to spend the morning or afternoon! Well worth the $10/ea. Be sure to purchase your timed entry beforehand! We had breakfast at Offshoots then wandered the gardens.
David Gardner
Magical beautiful.and utterly unique.
Acres of plants trees flowers herbs etc...
I would HIGHLY recommend that if you are in the area...visit this place. Not just for tourists. A must see for locals and travelers alike.
JEMS
Better in the spring time but has enough inside to enjoy in the winter
J B
Absolutely beautiful. Huge area and a lot to do.
Hank Zane
Stopped by during early spring, plants were not yet in bloom but it was enjoyable to wander the grounds and various habitats. Admission to the gallery was included but there were a few buildings still closed. Not sure about now, this was in early April. Worth a stop, as well as the general university / city center vibe of the neighborhood.
Jasmine Goldenstein
AMAZING! the place is very big and so so worth it. There are spots for learning center and they have some greenhouses that I swear you'll see the biggest birds of paradise ever. Truely incredible. Next time I'm in town I would go here time and time again!
Kent Beaber
Totally a not to miss spot Gem. Not only are the Gardens spectacular the new exhibits inside have been fabulous! As a local my favorite is all of the extras - The Yoga in that setting is special especially with the great the teachers they have, and concerts and seasonal events make being a member a no brainer if you live here
Meghan Montalvo
I haven't been here for at least 10 years and wow! There are a lot of little side paths to explore. Gardens vary from forest, xeroscape, grasslands, oriental, traditional/English, etc. I spent almost 2 hours walking, minimal resting, and still didn't cover everything. I feel my money was well spent and would like to visit during all the different seasons!
Brittany Hanna
It was so wonderful. There were a lot of people but that was no bother to us. The fountains were all beautiful. I love the glass sculpture that was left from Chihuly. We saw some cute little frogs in the ponds so have your kids watch out for those. One thing I'd advise is bring your own lunch as the Cafe line was long. Additionally if you are going to take small children, please hold them to a high standard of respect for the plants, flowers, animals and other guests. I saw four small kids terrorizing the little ducks. Do not let them do that in a nature sanctuary.
I do not like how there are not maps so you don't know if your missing something! Pull up Google maps satellite to watch the paths and make sure you are seeing everything.
If the temperature is going to be above 80 I would not recommend. We spent about an hour and we were about ready to pass out. Bring lots of water, wear hats, sunscreen, sunglasses and bring an umbrella for shade. I think this is a very great thing to do. I would probably go later in the day maybe to catch a smaller crowd. We had 11 am tickets and it was packed. Parking takes patience!!!!
Taylor Ackerman
Lovely botanic garden that is well worth a visit!
J.M. Serrano
By far, this is one of the best Denver locations for tourists. It is an absolutely beautiful site ripe for the best Instagram, Pinterest, and wedding photos. If any couple asks for date suggestions, this is always my number one place. Want to be inspired, enlightened, or bring out your inner poet and creativity? Everyone in Denver owes it upon themselves to go to this place. Tickets are not that expensive for the fantastic experience. I would even encourage everyone to get a year-long subscription. One would be contributing out to the gardens directly, and it comes with the perk of being able walking in whenever they want. Even under COVID, it is the perfect excuse to get out of the house and almost escape to a peaceful utopia. Bring a book or meditate! The food is a bit expensive but very delicious!
Not only is it excellent in the summer, I highly encourage you to go here during Christmas as well. The lights on all the trees are a wonder to behold. To be honest, it feels very magical. Truly the most romantic place in Denver
Miranda Brooks
wouldve given 5 but didnt like the halloween decor, I get it but its prettier without. Lots of places to sit ans enjoy, beautiful, unexpected Chihuly sculpture
Bianca Lee-Bingham
It was a very beautiful garden. They have 2 art exhibits that they just opened in their new building. It was great to see them. My favorite gardens were the romantic and Japanese gardens. It was a no-touch entry, easy parking, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. You must at least stop in the gift shop, it's gorgeous and has a lot of special pieces within it!
Christopher Holder
Always a beautiful place to walk around and see everything!!!
Mika McGinness
Absolutely beautiful gardens with nice paths and occasional sitting areas. The grounds were absolutely stunning. Give yourself at least 2 hours to explore.
Cesar
Such a lovely place there’s so much to see,I recommend you bring an umbrella or hat on a summer day. Also bring your own food because the Hive Garden Bistro gets pretty long lines and service was slow.
Kelsie R.
The Children's Garden open again! I don't think a lot of folks know about it because it was pretty empty over there while the main Garden was packed. Beautiful as always. Worth the visit. Don't forget if you are a student there's a discount on membership.
Karly Keppel
We stopped by on a whim while we were in Denver. The online booking is simple and fast to use.
Ticketing process was also very quick and easy. The ticket agent was helpful and enthusiastic.
The grounds themselves are huge and beautiful. It's pretty crazy how many different things can grow in Colorado and there were a ton of blooms and bees. The buildings were closed (bummer, as I wanted to see the succulent/cactus house!), but overall there was a lot to see and enjoy.
There were two art galleries open in the main building which were nice to stop and take a look at.
Gift shop had a bunch of cute things, but we just grabbed a magnet for our collection. Was expecting plants for sale, which they did seem to have had a pickup for an online sale that we missed.
We did not try the cafe within the gardens, but we did stop by Copper Door attached to the main building which was also fun and delicious.
Ahmed Abdullah
Very pleasant experience. Not as large as Bronx botanic garden but very lovely place. They have different themes and sections where you can enjoy different types of plants , flowers , lawns, etc. great place for a date and for pictures. I was lucky enough to go during Covid times so the crowd wasn’t so heavy. You get to see more things freely. Very neat garden. I would definitely go again.
Parker
This place was very cool! Just recently costumed Denver with some friends and decided to check this place out. It was very peaceful and a great way to start one of our mornings. The gardens are great for all ages and I will say are much bigger than I ever would have thought, even the birds eye view on google maps does not give justice to the size of the gardens. The gardens also had some indoor art exhibits that were quite intriguing. The gift should also has a lot to offer as far as souvenirs go. I would highly recommend, especially for the price!
Sandy Merriam
Enjoying the gardens! They are beautiful. Entry price is very reasonable and you can spend the entire day if you want. Very friendly staff.
Kelly Schroer
I am a plant nut. Visiting the gardens was beautiful and inspirational. I wish I can grow poppies where I live in zone 7B but I think they hate the humidity. I could of stayed ALL day, but the workers do need to go home eventually. LoL Great memories, I will definitely go back when I am in town.
Elijah Johnsen
Place was super cool I loved the bamboo area.
Kyle Bennison
Beautiful and quiet. A great way to spend a nice day and well-worth the $15 entry fee. Features plants and flowers from all over the world.
Cade Nicholson
Absolutely loved my experience here! It is such a large gardens we spent quite a while here taking photographs. I'm not a botanist or anything but I actually really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back! It's great for taking kids too.
Keith Reeser
Very well maintained and plenty of paths to keep you busy with sights to take in. Loved it.
Derek Reinhard
Nice day out, though most indoor venues are closed. Great variety and presentation of many plants and climes. Interestingly, they also had an exhibit of plant related art by Salvator Dali.
Jessica Graham
The Denver Botanic Gardens are a must if you are in the area! Ive been to several and this one may just be my favorite! The grounds are massive so give yourself at least a few hours. The plants are all stunning and well taken care of too. I went in August and had a blast, they had a covered parking garage too!
Racheal Smith
Make sure you are prepared to walk cause it is huge... Very beautiful
Laurie Michalewicz
Very disappointing, I understand that the Garden was setting up for their holiday events but so many of the garden areas were blocked off, in particular the more beautiful areas. Maybe they should give a heads up when so many areas closed. Also a lot of extension cords laying along pathways, could be a very serious tripping hazard.
dusan babic
I had the most pleasant time in there... Nice, beautiful and peaceful place in whole Denver...
Ideal for walking, but also the parties or weddings! Hope I'm gonna see it again soon!
elliott morgan
You will not be disappointed. We go multiple times throughout the year. The christmas lights are awesome, summer is beautiful! Highly recommend the membership pass.
Shamsul Alam
Amazingly beautiful, lightful, and friendly place! 😍 …
Veronica Winters
I wish we could get the tickets to the Christmas lights show. The garden in winter is different from the summer one of course. Nothing blooms but the layout and arrangements make it pretty. I think it wouldn't hurt to have Christmas lights on during the day too because there are no flowers to look at....
Rob Frye
Delightful free-entrance day. Slightly chilly, beautiful sun. We were mostly outdoors, did not go in the very large conservatory -- the place is much larger than I remembered from my childhood.
James Langston (Lango)
If you enjoy wondering around outdoors and looking at nature, then this place is pretty nice. To go with the plants, etc., they also have a few nice sculptures, ponds and other photo ops.
As of 10/2020, you must buy your entrance tickets ONLINE and show them the tickets either on your mobile device or printed paper.
Vannessa Parker
this place was just so beautiful, pictures don't do it justice. I enjoyed the scenery and the peacefulness of it. I wish I was a local because I would practically be here every day! nice place to just get away from everything for awhile, very peaceful. I also went into their little shop before leaving and got a really cute dish to put jewlery in! ✨
Ben Stark
Beautiful garden, and a very fun experience. Only complaint is that the tropical garden is closed due to COVID-19. Other than that I had a great time walking around the gardens. They even had a fish pond there which was really cool to see.
Donna Cucinotta
Beautiful Japanese garden! Nice afternoon exploring.
Kim Kaye
Cute place to have a walk! Was a bit sad that other places in there was closed due to covid. I wish they could have mentioned that before purchasing tickets. Overall, would love to check this place out again when they re-open everything.
Samantha L
Absolutely beautiful place. We went at the end of winter, while a lot of plants were still coming back to life, and half of the indoor buildings closed and it was still an incredible place. Definitely recommend going, but probably better off during spring and summer.
Vladimir Zasypkin
Awesome place to visit. Beautiful in all ways. Every plant is well maintained. Fun mini trails that go through exhibits. Lots to see. Can easily spend hours here.
ALLISON GROVES
The Blossoms of Light is spectacular, as always! Over 1,000,000 lights! New, exciting changes every year. Get tickets online and early as they are selling out
Lia Guttman
This place is really really beautiful, make sure to get there when there's good weather and no private events...they charge the same, no matter if parts of the place are unaccessible fue to private events ($15 dollars).
Shreaf Khattab
Love this place, always instills a sense of calm no matter what kind of day you are having before you get there. Highly recommend coming to this beautiful place. It's a great place for a picnic.
Phillip Cave
Holiday lights galore artfully strung to enchant everyone that passes through; the premier Holiday event of the year!
Joseph Rosenfeldt
My daughter and I had an awesome visit. Hopefully Tropical exhibit will open soon. Other than that, Willy Wonkas Nature Factory yeah!
Chris Ferri
This place is crazy great. The flowers, water gardens, urban gardens, the Beehive Cafe with excellent food, the Bonsai garden, and the Japannese garden with koi and a friendly bunny. We loved wandering around. There is so much to see. The variety of flowers alone is gargantuan. If you don't come here you are missing out. This place is good for the body and soul.
Gregory Smith
Our first visit to this place on a perfect fall day. Everywhere you looked, there were plants and flowers and trees of all varieties that were lovely and fascinating. We walked and walked and still could not take it all in. Well worth an afternoon or a whole day.
Donnie Darko
Fantastic! Such a wonderful complex! Went for a day trip, spent almost three hours just getting lost in the wonder! Highly recommend, especially on a beautiful day!
Anna Marie
We came on Dec 14. It was obviously cold and a lot of stuff was dead, but it was still worth the money. I especially Ikeda the tropical gardens and the cacti exhibit.
Dave Martin
We were in town visiting some friends in Denver and this was a great attraction to visit. The grounds were beautiful and the trees were blooming in their fall colors. Lots of beauty here and very overwhelming.
Zach Langsley Norman
An absolutely serene botanical bliss. The layout is remarkable in its ability to totally contain unique zones that feel both expansive and compact. The variety of plants is endlessly fascinating.
Diane T
A little boring indoors besides the last exhibit featuring a beautiful, black artist (my favs below). It is so tranquil. There's a waterfall and so many places to sit and enjoy the scenery(added a pic of that too). A lovely family trip. 🥰 …
Mariano Martinez
All I can say is incredible!
Linda Doucet Owen
Beautiful place. Was alot closed so it only took an hour to walk around, also some of the garden was closed off for private events, so even more cut off. Would give 3 for that, but i liked how they set up their gardens and that the labeled about 60% of the plants with their full latin genius name and common.
Fearsome hero
An incredible, magical and breathtaking place. A must-see for an out of state visitor like myself. It's absolutely huge, you will need the better part of of a day if you want to enjoy everything. Its amazing to see all the different types of gardens they had in the middle of Denver. I walked around and photographed as much as I could. About 3 - 4 hours and 250+ photos later, and I could have stayed another 3 hours. Great place for a date, family trip, or spending time by yourself.
Visited and photographed in May 2018

Very nice place . The Denver Botanic Gardens is a public botanical garden located in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. The 23-acre (93,000 m2) park contains a conservatory, a variety of theme gardens and a sunken amphitheater, which hosts various concerts in the summer.
Lasalle Pinnock
Had a great time here with my family! Very beautiful gardens with lots of variety! Can't wait to go back!
Ethan Anderson
Amazing gardens with a ton of variety. Many different themed areas (arid, montane, alpine, etc). The herb and vegetable gardens are great, with some unusual varieties. Lots of bunnies, hummingbirds, and insects if you look for them. The gift shop is well-curated, and the profits all go to the gardens. The gardens are large, it takes at least a couple of hours to see all at a reasonable pace.
Delainey Flaherty
Absolutely lovely. I do not know it it would provide anything to kids (the kids center is closed currently) but if you are interested in plants and/or beautiful scenery it is completely worth it. I would recommend going in the morning or afternoon so it is not ridiculously hot.
Zoe Meek
Absolutely loved every second of it. First time and won't be the last. I will say, take your time. A lot of people gather around the water areas so its a bit tricky if you want pictures. Everything else however, totally open!
Jenni Jane
Wonderful place beautiful no surprise there was a wedding there and unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy that space but I will be going back. Went in the winter and enjoyed the tropical areas indoors I can’t wait to see the grounds next time!
snaggybeans Smith (Miller)
Such a lovely place to visit! Will be back to see Fall and Spring blooms! 🤩 …
Diego Nicholas
Totally beautiful place! 😀 Some many amazing plants and sculptures! I highly recommend it! …
Shel Mulry
Just beautiful in October! Some changes were under construction so places were blocked off. Otherwise it was a nice stroll amongst gorgeous flora and flowers!
josh langsdorf
Very beautiful place. Plan to spend at least two hours here walking around if you want to see everything.
Kettering
A very well thought out design with plenty of space to explore. There are ponds, water falls, streams, art pieces, and of course, plants! Many places to sit and relax throughout.
I recommend it!
Rikki
Absolutely stunning! I only got to see a few of the gardens but I was blown away by the beauty. Well worth a visit, give yourself at least an hour or two to see everything. If you are a local, I would highly recommend getting a membership. It's a perfect date spot and even has a nice cafe in the middle of the property.
Zack Abdo
This Botanical Garden is very well laid out, the facilities are all exceptionally clean and there are plenty of maps to help you find your orientation.
Lost of exotic plants and cool gardenscapes to experience.
Matthew Romanelli
The Denver Botanic Gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. We went late in the afternoon on a weekday and it was quite empty and we really enjoyed the relaxing environment in the gardens. It's definitely worth spending an hour or two if you're in Denver.
Noor Saba
Nice , but not as good as I expected from google pics ...good for kids and families..water food drinks available, make sure you have sunblock and hats 🧢 with you ..if you going on summer...little shade …
Isaiah Hernandez
Was a very nice place to relax and enjoy. Was beautifully put together.
Chris Sotraidis
One of the best botanical gardens I've been to. Very helpful staff, very well curated gardens, and I love the additional art in the garden. Every part is worth seeing. Pretty busy, so I recommend going when it's less so.
Hunter G
LOVE this place. They sporadically have free admission days and it is absolutely worth it. The plethora of plants is astounding. Bring a book, crossword and journal and find a comforting and tranquil bench from which to enjoy the pleasantries of this magnificent curated garden! Be careful not to wonder off and get lost, this place is HUGE!
Jean Rene Duras
$15 entrance fee for non members, Buy your ticket online prior to your visit!!!!!!!! It's E. ticket only, and the web site is extremely frustrating to deal with, from your phone, in front the park entrance. You must register get a confirmation email, buy your ticket with a CC # no Paypal accepted, and keep your confirmation # because like everyone in front of me, we never got our E ticket on email. I would give it 5 stars because it is a fabulous and relaxing place , but some parts of the park were closed for private events , the spectacular looking main greenhouse was closed to the public, same with the pyramid building and smaller pavilion like the tea house, It was October and the vegetation was beautifully over grown and luscious with that fall feel, it's a great place to discover.
Iman Khayambashi
This place was so beautiful and amazing. I love this place. Also the volunteer employees were really nice and helpful. I needed a wheelchair and one of the volunteer employees brought it for me. Thanks to management team.
William DeWitt
This is a very beautiful place to visit with such a diverse collection of plants and flowers! It is also great to see so many Honey bees and hummingbirds around.
Andrew Garner
This place is great! It's very relaxing to stroll the grounds and check out plants and wildlife. They do a fantastic job of having things to see all year round. Plenty of indoor and outdoor activities.
Brian Bum Hutzel
Amazing how big this place is. We enjoy the plants and exotic flowers. This place has a vast array of collections. Beautiful facility, would love to go when all of it is open. Walked around for about 2 hours and still don't think we saw everything. Got some great ideas for our collections at home. We visit Denver almost every year.... this will now be an annual stop for us.
erin atencio
Just one of the best places in Denver. Beautiful, educational, serene, inspirational and great food. Found my new favorite spot pipsqueak pond
Misty
I loved this place and a person could spend days here walking the grounds. There is great food. Tons of place to sit by the water. All kinds of trails to walk. Art work. Its educational, and most of all the plants and floors are absolutely beautiful.
Yesenia López
Such a beautiful place to visit, definitely recommend checking it out. You have to but your tickets online ahead of time tho we tried going one day and they were sold out.
Mici Ouar
One of the biggest botanic gardens I have been to, the best one too. All kinds of flowers and trees, such beautiful colorful gardens. A wonderful experience.
Kelley Zamzow
Went in June when blooms are stunning also did the Bloasom of lights which fun with friends and family! Great experience!
Isabella Osborne
This is a very nice place to spend the day. There's so many beautiful plants and pools as well as some cool stuff for kids. I especially like the Japanese garden. It just was so peaceful. The Greenhouse area is also really cool. The plants in there are wild! Five stars!
Tamara Gordon
This is positively the best botanical garden I've been to in the world. And I've been to a lot!!!!
It has architecture, plants, water, asian influence. My favorite of course in a garden is Chihuly!!!!!
cynthia Hensley
We spent 2 hours here and could have been about another hour more. All inside buildings are closed due to Covid. Gorgeous place.
Mike Boldry
Well worth the money as it’s fairly cheap anyways. I spent hours here. Great place for a photoshoot if you’re into that type of thing. Make sure to check out the tropical greenhouse!!! One of the coolest things I’ve seen.. ever!
Nat Bianca
I loved it! More than what I could ever imagine. Such a beautiful place. Well kept and clean. The flowers smell amazing. I enjoyed walking around and seeing the view. I appreciate it for being there.
Dolores M
Beautifully curated. Very picturesque. Expansive—be prepared to spend >2 hours here if you’re a plant lover like I am! I can picture all the beautiful events that could be held here. There’s a little something for everyone. The map is well labeled and at $12, very affordable. I visited during the Human Nature display and the map helped guide me through the gardens.
Morgen Cvetko
I absolutely love this place! We went on a free day so it was kind of busy but worth it!! There is a lot of walking so wear comfy shoes. We went when it had just recently snowed so a lot was covered, but it just makes me want to go back.
The cafe was amazing and the staff was very helpful. They are also super into recycling and protecting their little slice of paradise so if you visit be mindful of your footprint
DeWitt Harrison
The Gardens are always a nice little getaway from city stress, at least as long as you don't need to travel on I-25 to get there.
With the current timed entry system, it never felt crowded and distancing was easy. So was parking!
The fact that all the buildings were closed didn't seem like that big of a sacrifice. But minus one star.
I definitely recommend supporting this institution now by purchasing an entry ticket.
Update: After our 2-plus year long, pandemic "Chinese fire drill" exercise, the Gardens are even more enjoyable. Be sure to catch the holiday exhibit Blossoms of Light. (See photos.)
Maddi Armstrong
Absolutely love everything about this place. I could spend a whole day walking around this garden. Such beautiful plants and flowers. A must visit for everyone! Plus they have free days once a month!
lily dam
This place is beautiful. Lots of different types of flowers and bushes and trees and landscapes... The like! A nice stroll through a rose garden, a herbal garden, an oriental garden, etc
Cassandra Garrity
This place is amazing! Even though a number of enclosures were off limit due to Covid, there was still plenty to enjoy. Kudos to the staff for putting a safe plan in places for us to still enjoy the gardens!

Beautiful place, friendly staff. A nice change from the cold of winter. Wish they had some items in the gift shop that weren't astronomically priced.

Simply gorgeous. The grounds are amazing, well-kept, and stunning. We were there for 2 hours before we had to leave to catch a flight, and didn't even come close to seeing everything.
Rachel Courtney
Gorgeous place! Wonderful to walk around in even when it is super packed. Bring sunscreen and/or a parasol for the unshaded areas. The gardens have different exhibits so a repeat trip will never be the same.
Mike
Cool place but a lot was closed while we were there.
Daniel Martinez
The gardens were fantastic. Everything was so beautiful! And the educational additions were a wonderful touch. We spent over 4 hours here, and still felt like we could spend 4 hours more. We would highly recommended this place for any kind of outing.

Well worth a trip. We spent almost a whole day there, and you'll need to if you're going to explore every bit of this incredibly well maintained and thought out garden.

Such a great trip, the plants are so pretty this time of year! Be advised reservations must be made prior and on Saturday they get booked up quick but I completely understand the precautions and felt very safe overall.

My wife dragged me in kicking; once in the garden it wasn’t so bad. Matter of fact, it was great. Lots of indoor and outdoor plants. The gardens also has a store and restaurant on the grounds. In the end, it was a wonderful experience.

Love coming here on nice days. It's a fun walk plus you get to see tons of plants both native to colorado, and out of state exotic species. They host events as well as weddings.

Beautiful place with gorgeous flowers! My only complaint is lack of bathrooms around the gardens. But, I still highly recommend!

I absolutely love this place. It is such a beautiful and serene place to enjoy a date or even a morning stroll. They rotate the plants on display, so you can always find something new, and the teas in their cafe are to die for.

Lovely place to stroll around and admire nature's beauty. Many paths to take, don't try to do them all. Very friendly help at the information desk. Cafe available for food and drinks. Enjoyable way to spend a morning or afternoon, or even all day.
Jay Finesilver
Good visit to see the holiday lights. Crowded but well staffed and organized . It was cold the night I went and the place was still packed. I didn't love all the lights and to me, it seemed expensive too. All in all a ton of tourists and locals.
Sheik Nixon
Wonderful experience plants from all over the world. I suggest going in the spring time it's BEAUTIFUL

Love the gardens. Very beautiful to visit. My favorite is the bonsai trees, the lotus pond, lilies, and the kids area. Also a great place to get a lot of walking in amongst the beautiful flowers.

Went to the Blossoms of Light event late Wednesday; our admission time was just after the rain turned to snow and covered all the branches and evergreen trees, which made it even more spectacular than the already great experience!

Impressive place with awesome gardens, beautiful flowers, amazing ponds. Loved the oriental and tropical gardens, also the desert one. Nice happy lovely staff, always with a smile. Jeremiah Salzberg
Amazing botanical gardens, really interesting conservatory and we saw the orchid show while there. Great place for every age.
Evan Broscious
During the winter plus covid, these gardens have little to offer. Many of the plants are dead and only a few indoor areas are available for viewing. I'm sure in other times these gardens would be beautiful though!
Courtney Saad
We could have spent an entire day here! The flowers are in a large range of varieties, colors, climates, and beauty!! There is a place to eat I side, we had dinner reservations so we didn’t eat here, but everyone there seemed to be enjoying their food. I imagine the pricing is a tad high as it normally is for places like this but I again did not get food from here so I cannot recall. The gift shop was also beautiful with many garden accessories for anyone who loves that sort of thing!
Amir El Yordi
We visited the gardens for the Blossom of light show this season. It’s Amazing!!! don’t miss it if you are in Denver.
J Clerc
Beautiful gardens, well maintained, lots to see. Would be 5 stars except the map could be clearer and there's so many little paths going off every which way that it's so hard to make sure you see everything. Spent 3 hours and still felt like we missed parts.
Eduardo Cardenas
The tropical rainforest is breathtaking.
If you have spare time in Denver this is a interesting place to visit.
Alex Ferrence
It was very cheap to enter (12.50 a person) and I had a great time. Tons of different exhibits, biomes, and areas. Lots of nice flowers to look at as well as succulents and lily pads and other water plants. Very beautiful sights, I loved it the whole way through!
Amy Blaze
Really beautiful experience. Exotic plants and flowers and grounds are kept up well.
Brandi Hill
BEAUTIFUL! I'm sure it is much more exciting outside of winter time, but wow! The tropical garden is always my favorite and it was fully blooming indoors!
Cannot wait to see this place another time and enjoy the outdoor beauty.
Thanks for being open on Christmas Eve to help make our Christmas vacation a little more special!
James Harris
Love it here, been coming here since I was a kid. Very inspirational for an environmental charity I am trying to create and build in my life cleaning the environment. Quit and peaceful.
