Really enjoyed date night with my husband during this season kickoff. Spivey Hall is a venue that should be utilized and packed with guests supporting these amazing musical artists! It's a hidden gem that provides exceptional performance, quality acoustics, and every seat is great...right inside of CSU! Get your tickets and support the arts! As an Inspirational-CCM recording artist, I simply love ❤️ it!

A very nice, well-run facility. A real treasure for the Clayton area with a consistently great lineup of performances. Heard a piano concert here. If I'm being extremely picky, I would have liked for the acoustics to have been tuned a bit. A little too much reverb in the room, which slightly muddled the piano and diminishes the lower notes. Would be great for vocals or strings. Not sure if the room can be adjusted based on instrumentation.

This is a magical concert hall. I've only seen acoustic musicians here -- guitar, lute -- and the sound is wonderfully clear. The audience is always respectful and in the intermission you can wander outside by the beautiful Clayton State lake.

Named after its benefactors, who were major real estate developers in the area, Spivey Hall is part of Clayton State University and stands within its Morrow campus next to the perfectly-named Swan Lake. Recognized as a leading concert hall, it receives international audiences thanks to radio and online broadcasts of its regular performances of jazz and classical music. Home to both the Spivey Hall Children’s Choir and Young Artists grouping, no expense was spared on creating this 500-seat auditorium in the early 1990s. This included the construction of the Albert Schweizer 4,400 pipe memorial organ. Manufactured in the Italian city of Padua, it is named after the doctor and Bach lover who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952.

A jewel of a concert hall on the South side of town I live in Atlanta, but have been a season subscriber for over 20 years. They offer excellent classical, jazz and world music concerts. Their pipe organ is worth the trip down, but their entire offerings are consistently excellent.

Spivey hall was beautifully decorated for the holidays! Christmas related decorations everywhere, and one sad little table with a few Hanukkah related items...a menorah with cheap, crooked value-pack candles. The performance was great!! There was no social distancing...

This is a lovely venue and every seat in this small hall is a good one. My husband and I sat on the last of the 16 or so rows and still enjoyed it very much, no regets. I had previously attended events here, so I knew what to expect. The facility is wheelchair accessible, although I don't recall seeing an accessible stall in the main women's restroom. I would call ahead to inquire about where they are located. There were plenty of stalls and the line moved quickly. Although the classic decor seems a bit dated, it is clean and VERY well maintained. Parking is easy, there seems to be plenty of spaces to meet the demand when the event sells out. Our event was well attended, we arrived only 15 minutes before the performance and had no trouble. We opted out of the concert dinning experience so I can't speak of that. Spivey Hall is situated on the lovely campus of Clayton State College and University. I recommend allowing about an hour for campus exploration. A portion of the path around the lake is gravel, but the majority of the paths are well-paved. It is particularly beautiful in the Spring when the ornamental Cherry trees are in bloom. There is also in residence a pair of resident swans and often other water fowl as well, so you do need to be mindful of where you step. This facility is one of the jewels of Clayton County and I would recommend it to all.

Spivey Hall @ Clayton State is one of the perfect acoustical performance centers in the U.S. Center College in KY is another. Hearing music performed in this small concert hall is absolutely a lifetime experience. Your major leading world class musicians want to perform here because each note has incredible clarity and rings true. This Hall is a required experience if you love music. The staff and volunteers make everyone feel welcome. Cost is quite reasonable and there are no bad seats as it is a small venue. Go enjoy.

Hands down the best acoustics of any concert venue in Atlanta. Beautiful location on the Clayton State campus, intimate seating arrangement, not a bad seat in the house. Great concerts by world-class artists, but you can also see inexpensive concerts by college ensembles. If you haven't experienced a concert here, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful venue and performance by Clayton State ensembles. The sense of community among performers and audience members following the performance was beautiful. Highly recommend attending as often as you can to experience the (many free) performances by Clayton State's music and theater programs, and attending the highly regarded Spivey concert series.

I came to see the Clayton Community Band on 12/2/19 as part of a college assignment for my music appreciation class. First and foremost, the venue is GORGEOUS. It's located on a college campus so I was expecting an auditorium. It was nicely decorated to reflect the Holiday season. There was an employee (older caucasian woman with short hair) that was sooooo nice, I wish I would've gotten her name. She assisted with seating and allowed me to borrow her pen. I wasn't able to locate her at the end of the show to return it but if she happens to read this please tell her I said thank you! The show was wonderful. It made me realize that I don't take advantage of these types of events enough. Next year I'll definitely be bringing hubby and the kids. Overall, great experience. Happy Holidays🎄

Spivey Hall is one of THE best music & arts venues in the South. The acoustics are nearly unparalleled and the small space only contributes to the beautiful intimacy of the hall. It also has beautiful artwork in painting and photograph medium in the foyer as well as in the architecture and design.

Simply the best of the best. World-class artists in an intimate space, with perfect acoustics. You can practically reach out and touch the people you'd need to look through binoculars to see at the Symphony, and it all sounds so much better here.

This is a hidden gem. I don't think many people take advantage of the great performances that most of the time are free. This beautiful Hall inside Clayton State University is a classy performance arts venue everyone in the community should support.

Although this school makes me mad, this place melts all the cares away. I love music, and as an audiophile, living anywhere close by. PLEASE MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO STOP HERE AND SEE A CONCERT. #1. The perfomance hall is absolutlely beautiful. #2. The acoustics here is just amazing. #3. The artists who come here are some of the most talented people in the WORLD!
