We’ve been going to this optical shop for 6+ years and I will never go anywhere else. Friendly, funny, talented staff — both the optometrists who do the exams and the opticians who give fantastic recommendations for glasses. Always on time, helpful, and they help you find something that works for your budget and with your insurance. Plus, their welcoming committee is the sweetest bull dog ever! Love supporting this family owned and operated business.

Been going here since 1990. Dr. Goldberg is terrific and very honest. The staff is attentive and friendly. Evan Goldberg, Dr. Goldberg's son, is a hoot and highly knowledgeable. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Just the best in the city

I can't recommend Evan and his team highly enough. They really excel at customer service. They helped me pick out a pair of glasses I loved (Lindbergs, which I get many compliments on and got at a very reasonable price). Once the glasses arrived, he texted and was kind enough to wait a few minutes after they closed so I could get them. I noticed the glasses didn't fit quite right and they ordered a new frame and took care of everything. Their cute dog is just an added bonus!

Just went here for the first time today, and it was excellent. The doctor is calm and thorough, the staff is friendly and was nice about the two reschedules I needed, and the owner, Evan, even helped me pick out my new favorite pair of glasses! Their pricing was very reasonable and the space itself is beautiful - they have a great selection of glasses and you can tell everyone working there is genuinely happy to be there. Couldn’t recommend more highly (there’s even an adorable bulldog named Toad!) Thanks, A Brighter Image!

I recently switched to this business for my eye exams, and I decided to look for a new pair of glasses here. I was so impressed with the amazing service I received. The employee was so helpful in bringing me options to try on, giving opinions on what they thought worked with my face and the look I was going for, not rushing me at all, and seeming truly invested in helping me find a great pair of glasses. I felt really comfortable and at ease and found a pair I'm very happy about. The price was quite steep for me, but it's been about 7 years since I bought a pair of glasses, so it was worth it. And the top-notch customer service and broad range of options certainly helped.

Life changing! After visiting another optometrist who left me with glasses I despised and whose quality of care lacked, I found A Brighter Image. Dr. Goldberg and his staff saw me at my appointment time and assisted me in finding eye glass frames. They did not even have to dilate my eyes! What made my experience life changing is how they advised me regarding progressive lenses after my last experience at another clinic. Dr. Goldberg and his staff were able to adequately assess my complaints with my current lenses and make adjustments to the new lenses. I have worn my new progressive glasses consistently since I received them. I am no longer searching for a circle on the lens or moving my head around in order to read. Dr. Goldberg and his staff have changed my world and my view of prescription glasses.

You can count on the folks at A Brighter Image for a great product and great (not to mention friendly) service! They helped me from start to finish with my special eyeglass needs, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the result. I'm very light sensitive and get migraines from bright indoor light, and they put together a combination of filters for me that have almost completely eliminated my light-triggered migraines. I used to be able to tolerate about 2 hours under indoor lighting, and now I can handle 6-7 under even the worst conditions, and have no problems at all under normal indoor lighting. All this, and I constantly get compliments for how great they look! Personally, I love a unique frame, but they have everything from wild to traditional and can definitely accommodate your preferred look.

The real deal- I agree with the reviewer who wrote "Old School Customer Service." I've been going to Brighter Image for years and will always recommend them. Great optometrists-warm friendly and professional staff. They make getting new glasses fun! And the frame selection is huge. Ramiro and Evan are amazing, hilarious, and honest.

While this place is on the more expensive side, I found it to be well worth the money. I had extensive issues with my insurance over the time I was looking at frames. A Brighter Image was very patient and helpful at helping resolve the issue and troubleshoot it with me. I trusted Evan's honest judgement helping me select a frame and was very knowledgeable about what I was covered for. I'm happy with my new glasses and will likely come back when I need a new pair if I'm still in town.

These guys spend quality time helping you find the right glasses, and they don't pressure you to buy a pair the way other optical shops do. Their selection is extremely eclectic, and they'll tell you whether frames work or don't. For long time customers, they'll cut you a deal on frames or lenses in a way that rewards loyalty. I don't go anywhere else.

The BEST eyeglass store in all of DC- Not only is the selection extraordinary, but the service is hands down the best in the city. When purchasing prescription eye glasses, I have learned quality matters. Not just the quality of the glasses, but of the exam and the knowledge of the staff. Have been buying annual eye glasses at this store for 3 years. They have good prices, process insurance quickly and have good selection. My favorite pair so far is rimless Lindberg. They are also great at bending the frames to match my ears and nose.

Very helpful and knowledgeable. They have very friendly staff who take the time to make sure you get the right, quality frame and will happily adjust everything as often as needed. It's NOT the cheapest place, nor do they have warehouse-like selection, but if you have the insurance or means, it's a very good place to get an exam and some glasses!

This business and their spectacular staff were, not only lifesavers, but a welcomed breath of fresh air on, what otherwise, would have been a dreadful day. not only was the specialist assisting me able to repair my broken frames, but he also re-aligned and cleaned my glasses--all free of charge(as a walk-in no less)! Even on a post-winter-storm busy Monday morning, the entire office was filled with a welcoming energy. My 8 minute experience, was without a doubt, the highlight of my day.

No point in having great frames, if they don't sit correctly. The two brothers were so kind to patiently adjust my frames during a visit to DC, even though we haven't been customers for years (moved to Memphis). Stellar service!

My family and I are all customers. Sometimes we stop by just to say "hello" to Evan Goldberg and Beans (Evan's bulldog)--it's that kind of a shop. I credit Evan for picking out edgy eyewear and keeping us looking good (small pun). After all, if one wears glasses, why wear something dull? And it's one-stop shopping. You can have your eyes tested, too. The optometrists there are excellent-- Dr. Goldberg found an anomaly in my iris and recommended a specialist. Turns out it was something that needs to be tracked. Thank you, Team Goldberg!
