Park Slope Eye was welcoming. The gentleman at the front desk was super calm and polite. Dr. Lin was super knowledgeable and professional. He used what seemed like every possible test to make absolutely sure my daughters diagnoses and prescription were accurate which I really appreciate. Hands down way better service and actual care in my daughters eyes then my normal optical.

I’ve been going to Park Slope Eye since they opened in 2008. In this time, Dr. Bazan has been consistently friendly and professional, always taking the time to show me what’s going on with me eyes, and to walk me through the available solutions, including the newest options to hit the market. Additionally, in times when there have been issue with contact lens availability on the manufacturers’ end, he and his front desk (thank you, Aaron!) have gone to great lengths to help fill in the gaps and to make sure I have what I need. I highly recommend Park Slope Eye.

I thought I had a contact stuck in my eye. Eyes were irritated, tried not to panic - Googled the closest eye doctor in the neighborhood with the best reviews. Ran to this office like wildfire. It was my first time at Park Slope Eye, after explaining the issue while wondering if this was the end of my eye - they got things set up quickly. In less than 10 minutes I was in the back being treated by what can be described as the most charming optometrist I've ever met in my life. Dr. Bazan answered all of my questions, looked into my eye - saw the problem was a pesky eye lash (and that there was no contact in sight) and was done in less than 15 minutes with it all. I scheduled my yearly visit with Park Slope Eye then and there. My eye is as good as new after that visit. Definitely a must go for all eye related emergencies and needs. 10/10 service, efficiency, kindness, and charm.

Quick summary: quality care and cost effective. Small, local optometrist who is detailed, knowledgeable, and caring. Dr. Bazan was quick to recognize I had more developed eye conditions and wanted to make sure I was seeing an opthamologist specialist (which I was). He knew without me needing to tell him which reassured me of his qualifications and knowledge of the eye. Remembered my discussions with him even though they occurred the prior year (good note taking I presume). His office has invested and utilizes new, high-end technology to make exams more efficient and advanced. I especially appreciate how quickly they're able to check my vision insurance benefits without much effort on my part and that they never pressure me to purchase glasses from them. Although I do purchase my contact lenses from them even if their prices are slightly higher than online retailers because I'd pay a premium to keep quality, local doctors in the area.

I'd highly recommend this place for any parent with babies. We've been here twice for my almost two year old. First time was with Dr. Bazan for the InfantSEE program. Dr. Bazan was very professional and patient. We were so surprised to get such great quality and thorough exam for free, and felt satisfied with the test results. Few weeks ago my toddler started to blink his eyes often so we came here again, and this time we met Dr. Lin who was also very patient and knowledgeable. He used various tests to make sure my boy didn't have any infections, and reminded us of my boy's possible near-sightedness in the future. He also tried so hard to calm and bond with my boy. My boy didn't cry at all during either visit!

I just left my first appointment with Dr. Bazan, I was feeling stressed about being out in COVID world, worried about some changes with my 50+ year old eyes, and frustrated for the past few years of balancing needing readers with my lifelong nearsightedness. Dr Bazan's calm, kind, and knowledgeable demeanor put me immediately at ease. I was able to book my appointment the day before online, and received clear directions via text and email about how appointments were being handled with the pandemic situation. I arrived at my appointment time, and the optician ran me through a series of tests before I was seen by the Doctor, who discussed the causes for the changes in my vision, adjusted my prescription, and fitted me with a trial pair of contacts -- which are absolutely wonderful so far. I've been wearing glasses and contacts for 47ish years, and this was by far my best experience with a doctor. Walking away with a clear understanding of the health of my eyes is so important, especially as I get older. I look forward to being a patient here for many years to come. EDIT 11/2/2022: Three years in with Dr. Bazan and still the best eye doc ever. The office atmosphere is so friendly yet efficient and Dr. Bazan's excitement and fascination with his work is contagious. The email-centric scheduling and communication is exactly right for me, too. I look forward to many more years with Dr. Bazan as my eye doc!

I was reminded of my appointment frequently leading up to it and knew exactly what to bring. The appointment was for my 3 year old son so I was nervous about the experience being relaxed enough for him to be calm and it was incredibly calming. The office was clean and organized and everyone was friendly. There was little waiting and everything was explained clearly to me and my son. My husband and I will be moving to this eye doctor as well. Cant say enough positive things about this visit!!

Park Slope Eye is fantastic. I was able to get an appointment as well as new glasses and contacts on short notice. The doctor appeared knowledgeable and the facility well kept, and they had stylish frames available extending from great deals to the more expensive side. But in particular the 5 star rating is because of Aaron, who mans their front desk and handles customer experience - he is super prompt in responding to emails, very professional, thorough and organized, and just great at customer service. I took forever to choose my frames and he didn’t pressure me at all and also didn’t push things on me. I really appreciate that and the excellent customer experience. I rarely bother leaving reviews but Park Slope Eye is great.

My eye appointment was quick and painless! It was very easy to schedule online (you know us millennials, we hate having to doing anything over the phone!). The staff and doctor were also very responsive via email, even before and after a holiday weekend. I also really appreciated that they didn't seem to overbook. I didn't have to wait long for my appointment and I didn't feel rushed by the doctor. They have top of the line tech - no more dilating your eyes and being useless for the rest of the day! Lastly, the doctor was very generous in providing a 10-day trial of contacts at no extra cost. I have tried two different eye doctors in Brooklyn and I will definitely keep going to Park Slope Eye.

He was really welcoming and attentive to my five year old. It was his first time getting an eye examination and he was a little nervous. I had such a great experience here - I had a very last minute urgent issue, they were able to find the time, when I arrived the front desk got me all set up, and the doctor was so patient and professional in calming me down, fixing the issue, and made sure the prescription was covered by my insurance. Really quick, seamless check up. The online booking was really easy and my check up went very smooth. Checking in with the person at the front desk was really easy. I was in and out super fast. Dr. Bazan was really clear, knowledgeable and walked me through everything I needed to understand to get the best recommended contacts / glasses lenses that suited me. A big plus...No drops for the glaucoma test— woo hoo—only high tech equipment is used making all the tests quick, painless, and insanely accurate. No high pressure sales either. He also explains various options. 2. For the past two years, my eye exam has shown that my reading glasses are slightly out of date with my prescription, but not so much as to warrant spending the money on new lenses. He's always endorsed my decision to put off spending more money. 3. The team in the front of the office is friendly and remarkably efficient. They had a wonderful selection of glasses and were able to help me pick out the best frame for my face. The location is very trendy and doesn't really feel like a doctor's office, especially in the waiting area, so that's a fun and different experience. Also they gave me free coffee. Coffee is life. My husband and I wear progressives and my 3 (now adult) kids wear both glasses and contacts. We also have sunglasses, computer glasses, and reading glasses among us. I've always had trouble with glasses, a particularly hard time adjusting to progressive lenses, even picking out the right frames. Dr Bazan and his staff have been incredibly patient in helping me get it right. It was a great relief to find a practice that took as much time as necessary during the exam, and was patient enough during fitting (and occasional refitting.) I have a favorite story about service. Several years ago I found out I was leaving for Spain just before a set of new glasses and sunglasses were ready. Dr Bazan took the address of my hotel and had them shipped to me overnight. We had a few comedic days during which the Spanish postal service refused to deliver them - I still don't know why - and I was on and off the phone with PS Eye until we tracked them down and were finally able to prove the package's innocence. The best part was the amount of laughter during this little adventure. Excellent care, great service and lovely people!

I’ve been trying to make my myopia gradually better every visit, rather than worse, and he’s been totally helpful and supportive! He’s the only eye doctor I’ve ever had who is actually trying to make my eyes improve rather than just sell me stronger and stronger glasses. He’s also just got a great vibe, very fun to be around, and he even makes videos online talking about the science of our eyes -that’s how I found him! He’s really trying to help people! The front desk staff are also very friendly and are people rather than salesmen. They’ve never pressured me to buy anything and their prices for exams are very reasonable, and they take most insurance. Mine is underwritten by VSP so they definitely take that. They also don’t make you fill out any paperwork or wait very long at all. It’s very painless! You just get pictures taken of your eyes with their state of the art machines (no dilation! :) ) while you wait, then when you’re done the doctor is ready for you! Easy! They and the doctor are also very quick to reply via email if you ever want to ask them anything. There’s even a referral credit where if you refer a friend you get $25 off and so do they, and there’s no limit on how many people you can refer! I’ve been telling all my coworkers to go there! I know I sound like a shill, but after going to eye doctors since the second grade and it being lame every time, this experience is SO REFRESHING!!!

There was no single thing about my visit that was not perfect. The front-desk experience was pleasant but in no way cloying. The exam was done in a very efficient but very informative way. Dr. Bazan took time to explain the various scans of my eyes and my options for corrective lenses. I was hoping to get contact lenses for a fairly complicated prescription (myopia + astigmatism + reading correction) and Dr. Bazan was able to fit me for my prescription during my exam. So far, the prescription and fit have worked out far better than I ever expected, but if something changes, I've got Dr. Bazan's email and can let him know that I need to change something. I've been to dozens of optometrists and ophthalmologists, and this was hands-down my best experience.

So first of all I've only been here all of seven minutes - haven't met the doctor and I LOVE it in here. The attendant are like in regular clothes, it's place and very trendy and they even have art from local artist up on the walls for sale. I mean the place is just awesome. I feel calm in here and it smells like jasmine or sage or some of those earthy calming scents. It's not 1:21pm, I was in the office for less then an hour and feel amazing. Dr. Bazan is everything!! He answered all of my question (I had a few concerning dry eyes) he explained everything he was doing as he went along and the office has all of this fancy technology that making looking at your eyes more convenient and transparent AND he gave me a discount for being a little late, contacts to try and since I walked in with glasses he gave me a case so I wouldn't scratch mine. How nicer can the eye doctor get. Plus they is food. Like tea, candy, popcorn all those of stuff. This places awesome!!

I've been wearing glasses/contacts since 7 and this is by far the best practice I've dealt with. Highly recommended.

Great experience for my 4 year old and I. The space is comfortable and casual and the staff is great. They are clearly experienced with children - treated my daughter very well. She was with me the whole time and it was easy to get through paperwork (even for our first visit) and pre-exam measurements. She loved the tiny popcorn machine and free snack. The doctor was super nice and very friendly. My daughter and I both had our exams with her and she explained everything very well. I had a good sense of what was covered and why. They also have a machine which gives you the option to avoid being dilated. There is a small fee, but well worth not being able to see well with kids in tow. The cool part was having the doctor review the imaging results of the inside of my eye with my daughter - this thing should be in a museum.

They also use newer technology - like this cool eye scanning machine - that alleviates some of the issues of going to the eye doctor (like being dilated). This is my favorite doctor to go to. They do all of their patient treatment using cutting edge technology and they take the time to explain and point out what all the machines do. You're also allowed to view diagnostic photos of the back of your eyeball. (Gross! Cool!) I'm a relatively new patient of Park Slope Eye (since November '18) and have had weekly vision therapy appointments for the past five months. I can't thank Dr. Rima Bakhru, Aaron, Sixto & Kevin enough for their guidance, patience and help. Dr. Bakhru, Sixto & Kevin dramatically decreased my esotropia & double vision issues through these appointments. (It's worth noting most VT specialists in the city are out of network and fully out of pocket. Not the case with PSE.) Aaron is a gem and SAINT managing the front of the office, ensuring everything gets billed through insurance so my out of pocket is as minimal as possible. If I have a question it's usually answered, thoroughly, within hours. Ultimately, I was RX'ed glasses full time; I kept the same frames I bought at Warby Parker 10 years ago. There was no pressure to purchase in-house. And, because I'm brand new at this "wearing glasses daily thing", I scratched the lenses to a point past repair less than two weeks after picking them up. I emailed Dr. Bakhru who looped in Yasmin, and my replacement lenses were ordered that day (and under warranty, might I add.) At this point, it should be clear how much I adore this place and the staff. ...I don't think I can recommend this practice enough.

I've been wearing glasses since I was three years old and the doctors here have been a Godsend. I wear a -12.5 prescription and after wearing crap contacts for the past 5 years that make me see halos around lights at night (and being told that's the best on the market for my prescription), they finally got me contacts that actually fit my eyes really well. They have all the latest technology and really care about my eye health. They take the time to explain it all and for the first time ever I didn't leave the eye doctor frustrated by a lack of support for my high prescription. They're easy to get an appointment and have always run on time for me (I don't love that you can't call) but they are actually fast on email. They're also a pediatric office and you can take your kid as early as 6 months, which I will do considering my eye history. So happy to have finally found an office that I look forward to going to.

I had my first ever eye exam at Park Slope Eye in 2010. Dr. Bazan was terrific - he has a great sense of humor and he explained everything so patiently. When it was time to choose frames for my first glasses, I was overwhelmed by the choices. But Yasmin was amazing - in less than five minutes she found frames that fit me so perfectly I think it's possible that I look better with glasses than without them. Oh, yeah, and I see better, too. Flash forward five years and a move across the country, and my beloved frames are twisted and one of the temples cracked by an errant toddler. I looked all over town for replacements, but they just weren't to be found. Finally I sent a desperate email to the store - could they help? Yasmin to the rescue! She found a pair of the frames (which had been discontinued, but she found a set in a warehouse somewhere) and shipped them out to me this week. Thanks, Park Slope Eye. You guys earn every one of your stars on Google and Yelp.

Selection of glasses: Good. Fair amount of both standard and hip options although not the very latest. Doctors: received two very different diagnoses from last year to the next for my son. Last year the doctor stated he has sight disparity and needed glasses in spite of not having more than one symptom. This year a different doctor said his sight was perfect. Front desk: Friendly, if a bit impatient and dismissive. Everyone seems rushed and in a slightly bad mood. Coming back?: I wouldn’t mind coming back for myself, but I definitely won’t take my son there again. There’s very little patience for children demonstrated across the board.

Dr. Adam showed great concern when I was prescribed a medication to treat Lyme Disease that could have caused potential damage to my eye sight. He provided a baseline eye exam to track any side effects the medication could have caused. Incredible experience, which ended up being one of the best of my life. Went in for an eye exam, and decided to try the EnChroma glasses (which enables some colorblind people to see colors normally). I am colorblind, and for the first time in my life, I experienced shades of colors that I had never ever seen. I don't know if you've ever watched Youtube videos about people trying these glasses for the first time, but that's what happened: tears of joy, just pure joy and awe.
