I am extremely impressed with how thorough Dr. Jackson and the entire team at Eyes on Canal are. They are very friendly and their communication is top notch. My first experience was because I had an emergency and they made sure to see same day, thankfully nothing was wrong - but, Dr. Jackson made me feel so comfortable and completely taken care of that I decided to make her my primary eye doc! I ended up with an eye infection and needed a place to go quickly. Despite the fact that they were booked, Dr. Jackson found space for me on her schedule. She was able to make a swift diagnosis and get me treated quickly. I had to leave town for a family vacation and she even went out of the way to recommend someone for me to visit on vacation. I would highly recommend Dr. Jackson. She was caring and competent and stuck with me till the end when my eye infection completely healed.

Wonderful customer service from the second I walked into the store. I went in to have my lenses switched into a new frame and it took less than five minutes not to mention they did it for free! The staff is super nice, and I'd recommend giving them your business if you're looking for any kind of eyeglass repair or optical services!

This office has the best customer service!!! I am traveling and forgot to pack my contacts. I had my eye doctor fax over a copy of my prescription and the Eye on Canal has me a set waiting for pick up. The girl at the front desk answers the phone and responds to email in a timely manner and is very friendly. So thankful for excellent customer service on such a short notice!!

It's not the easiest to get an appointment but it is 100% worth it. Everyone is incredibly helpful, nice and efficient. Dr. Jackson is knowledgable, patient and she was able to address things that are key to my health. I would strongly recommend Eyes on Canal. This little eye shop is small, personal, very friendly and professional. I had the pleasure of getting examined by Dr DiLeo who is filling in for Dr Jackson (who I haven’t seen yet) who is on maternity leave. If u need an eye exam while dr Jackson is gone-don’t hesitate!!! He is the best. Takes his time and gets it right! Got a wonderful updated script and I can see again! Trust these reviews. Spot on!

Eyes on canal St. Charged me.$700.00 for the type of glasses that I requested. When I realized that I couldn't read in those glasses, I went back to their Optometrist, she gave me a 6:30 a.m appointment. After sharing with her my concerns. She checked my glasses,said that she followed my prescription. That I should follow up with.my Optometrist. Upon my next eye appointment at Ochsner, my Optometrist checked those glasses and said that.Eyes on Canal St. Had completely cut the sight out of the glasses. So now I have a $700.00 pair of glasses that is of no use to me. I bought those glasses with funds left me by my Deceased mother !! I think that this was an awful thing to do to a senior citizen...

Didn’t actually see the doctor, just leaving a review to let others know they stopped taking Medicaid Aetna Better Health (they accept others) at the beginning of 2022. The location looks nice and I’m sure the doc is great based on reviews.

I was really Dr Monique first client. At that time the staff was small. Now my last experience not happy at all. OK I purchased a MK frame for my glasses cost me over 200 dollars. So my screw came out of my glasses and I brought them back to be repaired with the screw. They were not able to repair them, so they got another pair of the shelf and inserted my lenses. I promise its probably haven’t even a good month. So Monday when I got home I notice that one of the lenses was gone. Brought them back today and I have to pay 80 dollars for the lenses and I glasses want be ready until 2 weeks.I don’t agree with this because you guys had just put those lenses in which may not have been inserted right and you may have costed me that additional 80 dollars. They forgot how they couldn’t even fix my other glasses and I brought them back the screw as well. I’m not a happy camper and addressing the issue with my Insurance Company

Just moved to Mid-City and needed a new eye doctor. Everything about my experience here was exceptional. Everyone is great and really friendly. Taylor and Dr. Jackson were very thorough and explained everything they were doing. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase new glasses with them but I'm glad I did. Farid had me howling with laughter while he fitted me for new frames. I should mention they also work quickly, I did the exam and the new frames in about an hour.

EDIT: Dr. Jackson saw my review while she was on leave and personally called me and resolved the issue less than 24 hours after my post. Changing my rating from 1 star to 4 stars, and I'll definitely give Eyes on Canal another shot (once Dr. Jackson is back, of course) after such great service. Boy, did I pick the absolute worst eye doctor to go to after my longtime eye doctor passed recently. Save yourself a lot of trouble and pick a different place. It's almost guaranteed to be better than Eyes on Canal. Dr. Dileo may seem like a nice old man on the surface, but he is terrible. He somehow gave me a worse prescription that also gave me a headache, but he immediately brushed off my concerns, refusing to even acknowledge them. Dr. Dileo decides what you're seeing and feeling, not you. He also forgot to do several simple things during the exam itself, which, in hindsight, should have been concerning about whether he's up to the job. But don't worry, Dr. Dileo graciously agreed to see me a second time THREE WEEKS after my initial visit. Of course, I'm almost out of contacts now (I wasn't expecting ; but hey, why should I expect to be able to see clearly after going to Eyes on Canal? They certainly do not care. They got my copay and milked my insurance for money, so they're laughing all the way to the bank. Seriously, find a different place.

I’m not big on making reviews, but I felt like my recent experience warrants a review to let everyone know of the wonderful this place is. The whole staff goes above and beyond from start to finish, from scheduling your appointment to picking up glasses and contacts. Ashley is absolutely wonderful! I’ve called twice with questions that she needed to get back to me about, and she either called or texted me with the answer to my questions. They are very accommodating and ensure you’re completely satisfied before you walk out the door.

Have used them the last three years and always been pleased. This year, my vision insurance has a different lab and they were a nightmare for Eyes on Canal to deal with. Jennifer, the optician at Eyes never gave up, and literally started giving me daily updates on my glasses. She went above and beyond to make sure I knew she was doing everything she could to get my glasses processed and back to them and me. The exams are also always thorough and you never wait long. Great selection to, and perfect part of city.

I had the most delightful experience this morning with Dr. Monique Jackson at Eyes on Canal. I experienced Dr. Jackson to be very knowledgeable in her field as we worked through my appointment. She had the most modern technology in an optometrist's office that I've experienced. Dr. Jackson let me know what was going on and why at every step and she was also aware of my needs throughout the appointment at the same time. I'm satisfied with the outcome of my appointment and confident in Dr. Jackson's assessment of my health AND I was able to purchase new glasses as well as new lenses for my sunglasses at Eyes on Canal. The best prescription I've ever received. Dr. Jackson did all the usual tests plus a few I'd never done before. I think this made all the difference. For the first time my glasses feel like my eyes, if that makes sense. My grandmother just got a new pair of glasses, but after trying mine on and being able to see way better, she is reconsidering her own doctor! Go here you won't regret it! Pleasant, thorough, yay!

One of the best eye exam and eye glasses-shopping experiences my daughter and I ever had. It was a windy day and I was doing yard work and got something in my eye. I rinsed it with water but it didnt seem to go away. Since it's Caronavirus stay at home order time, I didnt know if I could get an eye doctor and knew I would have to be close to people if I went to a doctor. I called my usual eye doctor place by Clearview Shopping Center but i had just missed them because they closed at noon, due to shorter hours because of Caronavirus restrictions. The eye pain was bad all night so i didnt think i should wait to find a doctor and felt it was important that I get treated that day and not wait until the next day. I had anxiety but told myself: take care of yourself! It's your all-important eyes after all.. i googled eye doctors and found Eyes on Canal street. I called and spoke to Bobbi. She was nice. Since it was an emergency she said she would contact the doctor and try to get me an appt that same day. She was very accommodating. 45 minutes later Bobbi called me and said she had gotten me an appt. for later in the afternoon. I was very happy. The location was great - just a short bike ride from my house. Bobbi at the desk greeted me warmly. I did the paper work. It didnt take long. Dr. Madison Hayes came out and took me in and was gentle and explained everything she was doing so that I could feel more comfortable and have less anxiety with my eyes going through the tests. I was so concerned but thank goodness my delicate retina had not been scratched by whatever was in my eye. After probing my eyes Dr. Madison Hayes got the particle out of my eye fast and skillfully with some kind of thin stick looking thing! It was a great ljttle device! It did the trick! It was great how Dr. Madison Hayes did that! The particle had been way up in my eye. But now gone! I was so relieved! Then she gave me free samples of real good natural eye drops to take home. I was so glad I didnt have to go out and buy eye drops. As soon as that particle was out of my eye I felt immediately better and had no more pain. And the eye drops were terrific and soothing when I got home and put them in. And Dr. Madison Hayes and the office contact you very soon to make sure you are doing okay. It was a very pleasant experience and I got my concerning eye emergency fully taken care of. And although they were attentive and careful, they got me out of there fast! So I could go home and attend to things and my afternoon wasnt eaten up by the appointment. All the way around I felt great. Eyes on Canal St is a very reliable eye doctor place in convenient mid-city and they are accomodating and care about the patient. I recommend Eyes on Canal St. highly. They made going to a new eye doctor with big concern for my eye a very reassuring, easy, effective, and pleasant experience. Brenda Du Faur

Where do I start with Eyes on Canal? When I think about any establishment in the medical field, I want that perfect mix of professionalism and rapport. Eyes on Canal nails this. Dr. Jackson has a way with people from ages 5 to 105, and it just makes the experience that much more easy to stomach. Switching gears and talking about their selection of eyewear, I was pleasantly surprised at the high end frame brands they offer, while keeping prices really fair. Did you know that Costa makes optical frames? They do! And I freaking love mine! Hopefully I only need the eye doctor for a once a year check up, but I'm really happy to have found them! Thanks guys!

Is it weird that I actually LOOK FORWARD to going to the eye doctor now? Getting an eye exam used to be a chore at best, and a frightening experience at worst. I'm so glad I discovered Dr. Jackson's clinic, because keeping up with my yearly exams is going to be easy as pumpkin pie in October. She and her staff have a way of putting you at ease and making you feel like they really care about you. The machine that lets them look at your vascular system without using the dilation drops was a game changer.

Due to heredity, I have been seeing eye doctors for over 30 years, which means I have been through my fair share of crappy eye doctors/offices where it is all about how much they can make off of you and your insurance. Eyes on Canal THOROUGHLY impressed me: 1. I was a little early for an 8am appt. and was greeted by Faby who let me right in 2. When Michelle arrived she was just as peasant & did not treat me as if I was in a doctors office with a "here is your clipboard of paperwork, blah, blah, blah" nonsense you get at so many other places 2. Dr. Jackson is EXTREMELY personable, I felt like I had been seeing her for years 3. Taylor was sweet and again extremely personable 4. I finished up with Dr. Jackson making suggestions regarding my contacts (ya see I have -8.75 in one eye and -9.00 in the other) 5. When I went to place my eyeglass and contact order I was again assisted by Fabyana who for the VERY 1st time EVER asked me to describe my normal activities so she could ensure what type of lenses she ordered would wok for me. She described the options and knowing I had two different insurance policies advised which one had more coverage for the glasses and which one had more coverage for contacts. This blew me away!!! Again, I have been many places and NEVER experienced this before. OH and they have a Patient Portal that I was signed up on and asked to send them a pic of my current contacts when I couldn't remember what brand of contacts I had switched to last year. I was contacted the next day to follow up and I called again to talk over my options again before I placed the contact order. You see no contacts come in -8.75, I have to either stay with -8.50 or increase the eye to -9.00. Talking me through this decision is what really impacted me the most. They understood how hesitant I was to have my strong eye impacted negatively by whatever option I chose. Service...it goes A LONG WAY and Eyes on Canal is SERVICE DONE RIGHT! Looooved my experience with Dr. Monique Jackson! I reviewed her on the internet before I made my appt. All the reviews that I read is true! Plus, she is super cute and genuienly sweet & nice. The office is updated, modern and new. Located right on Canal St. Close to the street car line. Right next to a coffeeshop. You have to look close though otherwise you will miss them. They are working on upgrading the landscaping and a bigger sign. They had a good selection of quality frames from BeBe to Swarovsky, Guess and much more. I was very pleased and very happy when I left. I also liked that her husband was there to meet and greet the clients. He was very nice as well. Cute couple. Love the tEam work! I can't wait for you all to experience their work. 😀😉🤗🤗🤗

A few days ago I had a interaction with one of the employees that works at Eyes on Canal. I was so upset I decided to share my experience on here with a rating of 1 out of 5 stars. I expressed my frustration and thought that was the end of it. Well, I was shocked to see that the owner and Dr. reached out to say sorry and she was so sweet and sincere. I literally had a change of heart. The power of Love and Kindness can cure all things, even a upset customer. Shout out to You Dr, and I had to share the story because it made me look back at myself and realize that by holding on to that emotion of anger, I was blocking out my happiness. When you apologized it instantly made me smile and let go of that anger. Let this be a lesson to us all, #alwaysgettingbetter!
