I've been near sighted for almost 40 years and have seen a handful of providers. Dr. Petrou explained things about contact lenses and eye dilation that no one else has ever taken the time to tell me. Her passion for providing excellent eye care really came through. The staff runs like a well oiled machine and the office is conveniently located. I'm glad to have found my new eye doctor.

Dr. Petrou is the best optometrist I have ever seen. (no pun intended!) Her attention to detail and willingness to explain anything about eyes and eye health are unparalleled. Every year when I see her she has already reviewed my history and knows the details about me that are important to my care. I will state that the designer frames and premium lenses available from the opticians in her office can be pricey but I think the value for the cost is often justified. I have not yet had any purchased frames break (or break beyond repair) from them due to their high quality. I have had minor repairs or adjustments made to some frames within a year or two of purchase and it has never been an issue or inconvenience. I do wear several frames and two different prescriptions based upon activity due to my strong nearsightedness so my frames tend to wear less. I have once had one frame re-lensed because I liked the frame so much and it was not available for purchase anymore, just another testament to the quality of the product.

Dr Petrou did a very thorough eye exam and has the most up to date equipment. She spent a lot of time explaining everything. I have new insurance so i was able to see Dr Petrou and the office is near my home and open late two days to accommodate people's work schedules. My prior insurance optometrist did a very quick eye exam and i saw different optometrists over the years. I was able to make appointment and get in immediately. I arrived 20 minutes late and I was still able to see the doctor unlike at Ascension where you cannot be more than 5 minutes late. I recommend getting a complete medical eye exam here.

Just had my 6th complete eye exam at Petrou Eye Care. I continue to be impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff. The frame selection and assistance with styling is impeccable! Dr. Petrou has cared for my family and I for over 10 years. Her exams are thorough and she has always taken the time to educate us on better eye care. My contact fittings have always been right on. When it came time to have my vision correction eye surgery, she was compassionate and took her time explaining the procedure and making sure my eyes were suitable for the surgery. I have complete confidence in her and strongly recommend her to family, friends and patients.

I couldn’t ask for a better eye doctor. I had a very scary situation with one of my eyes and Dr. Petrou helped me through the entire process. I now see her every 6 months for follow up and she always makes me feel extremely comfortable and well cared for. I never feel rushed and she always takes the time to answer my questions and make sure I understand everything that is going on. She is very skilled and experienced. I would highly recommend this doctor to one of my family members.

Dr. Petrou and her staff are the best of the best. I have worn glasses or contacts all my life so getting really good vision care matters to me. They consistently have the best frames available in the entire Milwaukee area, and the staff is friendly and eager to help you find a pair. I don't have my husband sending me selfies from his eye appointment to help him narrow his selections down because the staff is on trend and they can take care of it. Dr. Petrou is also extremely thorough, friendly, and helps explain things in a way that makes sense to patients. I recently had to go in for a series of appointments, and Dr. Petrou was great at explaining things to me in a way that was honest but also didn't freak me out. I don't think we'll ever go anywhere else, even though it's a 25 minute drive for us. Worth it!

Amazing staff and service! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Dr. Petrou gives a very comprehensive exam explaining each step of the way. If you want a "drive-thru" experience, this is not the place for you. Your eyes deserve the best care and this is where to get that service. Dr. Petrou specializes in low-vision and is always up on the latest treatments and options for clients. She lets you know what to do for good eye health. You will not be disappointed. If you do need glasses, you don't just pick them up, you have an appointment to make sure fit is perfect. They do an outstanding job and have taken excellent care of me and my family!

The good: Dr. Petrou did an excellent job examining my 4 year old. The bad: We picked Dr. Petrou due to her good reviews and the fact that she is covered by our insurance (in network). We scheduled a basic checkup, and Dr. Petrou determined that she wanted to check our son's eyes further, but had run out of the eye drops to do the dilation, so asked us to make a follow up appointment. After the follow up appointment her staff gave us a bill for both visits. We were never warned that the services rendered were outside of a "normal" visit, and upon asking about the charges, were were told that the services were a medical code that wasn't covered by our insurance. They were inflexible on the charges and didn't provide further information to justify why our "basic" appointment fell into this category. I have had my eyes dilated by optometrists before and have never been charged for this type of appointment. TLDR: Good with kids, not transparent about billing. They didn't seem to understand that not warning people about services being outside of insurance coverage is a problem.

I had the most thorough eye exam with Petrou Eye Care, with all my questions answered right away. The office and staff make you feel immediately comfortable and the service is excellent. I received excellent personalized attention during my exam and while I was picking out my glasses. They also have a great selection of frames, it was impossible for me to pick just one pair! I have been to several optical offices and this was by far the best service, price and overall experience I have ever had.

I've had a number of eye problems over the years that various eye doctors had either misdiagnosed or overlooked completely. At Petrou Eye Care I received the most thorough eye exam of my life. Dr. Petrou encouraged me to ask questions about my vision health and provided a wealth of information. I wan't rushed in and out the door like so many other places. Instead, during my exam I felt like I was her only patient, that she genuinely cared about improving the quality of my vision --and she did. With the contacts and glasses I got from Petrou Eye Care my eyes feel better, and I can see better than I have in years.

Friendly service, great selection of frames. My first experience with a true eye exam and Dr. Petrou took the time to answer all of my curiosities of the exam. In my lifetime, I have had 3 concussions. Dr. Petrou took that into consideration and recommended lenses that would help relieve some side effects I have had from them.. HOW COOL IS THAT???? Who knew? I loved that attention to detail. Thank You

Came here for the first time this week for a routine eye exam and contact fitting. The entire staff was kind, patient and super accommodating. It had been a while since I'd had an eye exam and I didn't budget enough time for a follow up appointment, but Christina went out of her way to make sure I could get what I needed in one appointment. Not to mention, they have a great selection of glasses, much more modern than what I can usually find in person. Would recommend to anyone!

Easily the most thorough and comprehensive eye exam I've had in 20 years. My copay is the same here as it is anywhere else, and while they do carry a higher line of frames (which after my deductible I did pay probably $75-$100 more than I would elsewhere) I have never been happier with my glasses. Matt was extremely helpful in picking out frames, and I do not have an issue paying for premium service. It will not be the cheapest option, but I think it is the best in the area.

I am a person who hates doctors and hate them because I always feel rushed and therefore I don't want to ask questions in fear of "keeping them too long". I had my eyes checked at Petrou Eye Care and Dr. Tina had taken the time to explain EVERYTHING and even went over why I never had gotten a good fit or why they were so uncomfortable for years! I learned so much in that ONE visit than I had from different doctors over the last 15 years. Now I have comfortable contacts and no fear of the eye doctor ever again! By far the best experience I have ever had and I would recommend her to all of my friends and family.
