I hadn’t been to the eye doctor since the start of the pandemic. I was embarrassed, to say the least, at how bad I felt my vision had gotten. But Dr. Barnes was so kind, genuine and patient with me. She explained things thoroughly and made me feel that she had my best interest in mind. The staff in the office were equally caring, explained all information necessary, and provided me with great customer service. The facility itself is beautiful with up to date frames, decor, and technology. I’m so happy to have lucked up and found an eye doctor that cares about my overall health! Love this place!

I am from Chicago, I have been traveling for work for 2 weeks, and on the road for 2 more. I ran out of contacts in the middle of my trip and realized my prescription was expired. I found Vision Corner on Zoc Doc, and went in the middle of my conference. The team could not have made the experience more seamless. I was in and out, after a very thorough exam! January 2023 - I went to Vision Corner for my annual eye exam. I was promptly buzzed in for my appointment by the employee at the front desk. The door system made the offer feel intimate and secure in a busy area near Galleria. After explaining I was there for my first appointment I was triaged by one of the young women with three standard tests and a comprehensive photo scan of my eyes which was later reviewed with me in detail by Dr. Sophia Barnes. After triage, I was invited to explore frames while I waited for Dr. Barnes. There is a variety of brands for frames and all of the items were easily accessible for me to try on. By the time I narrowed down my frame selection to a top three, the doctor was ready for me. I have been wearing glasses for 18 years. This was the best eye exam. Dr.Barnes took her time and explained the tests and what they were checking for before proceeding. She does a great job of making you feel comfortable throughout the exam. The best part was at the end of the appointment she was able to show me my prescription and test it with signs from a distance. I was surprised and delighted by how thorough this trip to the eye doctor was. After the exam I selected a frame and went through my insurance options before ordering. I highly recommend Vision Corner! It's a local business with a compassionate doctor and an awesome staff! I can't wait to pick up my new glasses 👍

This was my first time coming here, the minute I walked in the atmosphere was very welcoming. The lady at the front desk greeted me immediately and we began my eye exam. Dr.Barnes was amazing and very thorough throughout the entire process! She made me aware that I have a slight astigmatism which I was not aware of. I like the atmosphere of this place. Looks like they have good working relationship there. We usually go by the reviews from google And let me tell you, they didn’t fail us. Ms. Sophia was kind, approachable and very detail-oriented. I never had an eye doctor as thorough as her. She was very helpful and answers all my questions. Also, the lady who helped us find the right glasses was sweet, kind and is very patient as well. I just didn’t get her name but she is worth mentioning here. Im glad to found our go-to clinic! If you're looking to **support local business,** get your eye needs met here! The staff at Vision Corner was so friendly and knowledgeable, I could have mistaken my appointment for a spa day! Dr. Barnes definitely knows what she's doing and I learned so much more about my eyes through her working with me. The tests were modern and clean, and I opted for the machine that replaces dilation. It was great! I didn't catch staffers' names but they were all so kind and helpful to finding a pair of glasses that matched my style and were in my budget. I have a very wonky prescription and I felt safe that Dr. Barnes took all the measures to make sure I'm taken care of. I'm eager to get my glasses in and expect them to be great quality :)

My whole experience at Vision Corner was great! I was greeted warmly and immediately assisted at the front desk. I didn’t wait too long before I was given a couple of vision tests then taken to the room to see the optometrist. Dr. Barnes greeted me very friendly and was very easy to talk to. She listened to any concerns I had, made suggestions, and addressed any questions I had for her. She explained what she saw on my results in a way I could understand and gave me two different options for prescriptions based on what preference I had. Afterwards, the optician assisted me in picking out frames and explaining costs of lenses and the frames I chose. While I couldn’t afford any lenses/frames at the moment I definitely will come back for my next appointment.

Don't know how to say this elegantly but you know how at your local chain eye doctor you may be waiting for your appointment with like 4 other people in the waiting area and you know there are patients in the back and people are walking around looking at glasses and people at the counter checking in/out, doesn't it feel like you're more in a store, than a doctor's office? Vision Corner is the complete opposite, it was quiet, felt like a more intimate experience with the staff, only a few patients at one time (I did go on a Monday at 4pm). Highly recommend if you are looking for an all around better experience at the eye doctor :)

I ended up really needing a new pair of contacts and was able to book an appointment the same day which was super convenient. Amazing service and frame selection!! Review Update: I religiously purchase my lenses and frames at Vision Corner every year. This year in particular, they not only spent a considerable amount of time helping me choose the perfect frames, but also covered my previous frames at the tail end of the warranty period (repaired them like new). In addition, they assisted me with an frame adjustment and nose bridge pads on a frame purchased two years prior. They also adjusted the prescription to my current lenses after I decided the original prescription was not going to work. Needless to say, I'm more than pleased with my current lenses and the effort Vision Corner's team put towards making sure I was 100% satisfied with my selection. Had an opportunity to get my annual exam and visit Vision Corner, booked online very straightforward and easy booking, arrived and was checked in quickly and was offered a water, was surprised by the use of imaging technology to see a rendered image of my eye to check for any potential issues. Dr. Barnes was very knowledgeable and because of the technology I was able to get my prescription for glasses and contacts within an hour on a busy work day. There was almost zero wait time. I absolutely appreciate that they still practice social distancing and wearing masks (June 2021). Dr. Barnes and staff were great. Going to an eye doctor during quarantine is stressful in itself, but Dr. Barnes and staff made me super comfortable. There was also an issue with my insurance and they got it cleared right up. I received new contacts that are more comfortable than my old sets, as well as a new pair of glasses. The lady that helped me with my glasses (I'm so sorry, I can't remember her name) was the best! we went through about 50 pairs of glasses until I was settled on a pair and she was so patient with me. I’ve never met a more thorough doctor in my life. She is absolutely amazing! I had an unfortunate matter with my eye that impaired me for days. My first doctor was super inefficient and the prescription was not affective. Dr Barnes was gentle with my seriously swollen eye and found a foreign body that could’ve really blinded me has I not found her sooner. My cornea was damaged and she helped me get it to 100%. Her team is structurally sound and THEY CLEAN CONSISTENTLY! Lol wipes for everyone. I felt safe and well cared for to the point I got my glasses there as well. Only to find out that my oldest prescription was so far off target. Her new recommendation balances my vision and also protects my eye. I would DEFINITELY recommend her to anyone I come across. I came in once after the dog chewed my frames, they got me a replacement for $25. They fit me with contacts and adjusted me on the spot for my astigmatism. TL;DR- The service at this place is great! They made me feel safe and the team is very professional. Dr. Barnes and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! I have no time to visit the doc on weekdays so it was very helpful they they had hours on Saturday. They enforced masks, temperature checks, and various other measures to keep hygiene to the max in these COVID times. They have this really cool machine that looks into your eyes and takes pictures which eliminates the need for dilation (they even sent me the pictures after the visit). Dr. Barnes was the one who checked my eyes and was very attentive, compassionate, and informative. (She even called me back after my visit to answer one of my questions she did not have the answer to during our encounter, take note!, this is a mark of an eye doc that cares a lot about her patients :). Po was incredibly helpful with explaining my insurance and costs after my exam and helped me go through some frames that would fit my face type. ALL in ALL this was a 5/5 experience and I can't wait to schedule my wife to be cared for by the Vision Corner team.

I do not remember the name of the nurse or tech who did all my tests before seeing the doctor, but he was very nice and helped immensely. I just recently moved to the states from Europe and wasn’t sure about the process of getting glasses or contact lenses over here. On top of that I hadn’t had my eyes checked for about 5 years, so really needed to update my glasses as well as my contact lenses. I got an appointment within 24h, which was ideal. Additionally this place is within my insurance (VSP) network, which helped with all pricing very well. When I arrived two lovely gentlemen helped me fill out my patient forms and explained the process very well to me. The glasses and contact lens exam was smooth and super accurate. The highlight of my visit was choosing new glasses though. I rarely ever wear my glasses and usually get the standard ones, because I am not sure which ones fit my face and features, but here a dedicated and very professional lady gave a fantastic consultation including current trends as well as colours and shapes of glasses that fit my face and features. We looked at glasses in different price categories and at no point in time I felt like she was trying to sell me the most expensive one, but the one I liked the most and that suited me the most. We went through a variety of different glasses and she did not rush through them, but let me take all the time I needed. It felt like a fashion fitting for glasses, I could tell she really enjoys her work and is good at it, which resulted in me actually being excited about wearing my new glasses! So overall very positive experience with a standout glasses consultation. Big thank you!

Had my first visit with Vision Corner with new insurance and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. I did have to wait quite a bit as my appointment was scheduled at 2 PM and I didn't get to see the doctor until maybe 2:45 PM. It took about an hour and 45 minutes to complete a checkup/eye exam and fit for new contacts. A bit longer than I'm used to but I had a pleasant experience overall. The location is a bit tough but being near the Galleria is tough for all businesses. They had great COVID-19 protocols with the doors locked for everyone unless you had an appointment. Also, they had hand sanitizer placed all around the office which was nice.

Vision Corner is by far the best I’ve been to. In a COVID world they are very cautious and clean, which I appreciate. It didn’t take long at all to go through all the eye test (about 4-5), they were very thorough and talk you through each machine and what it does. Then I met Dr. Sophia Barnes, one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever met! She genuinely cares and wants to get to know her patients. She, as well, is very thorough. She doesn’t cut any corners, explains what each test result means (which is something no other doctor has done before), and makes sure you get the exact and most perfect prescription you can. After that, I went to pick out new frames. I can’t remember the name of the women who helped me, but she was AWESOME! She started pulling out frames left and right and told me exactly what looked good and what didn’t. You can tell she has been doing this for a while. I ended up finding the PERFECT frames for me, thanks to her! Due to COVID it does take a while for your glasses to be ready but that’s to be expected anywhere! I highly recommend going to Vision Corner. You will not be disappointed!

The place is totally worth the time and investment in yourself. No one is trying to upsell or treat each patient like one of many. From the moment I was allowed in ( they have safety protocol in place during pandemic) until the moment I left, there was an inviting feeling that eased anxiety. If you're looking for someone to do more than a quick eye exam then come here! EXCELLENT CARE and friendly staff. After so many years going to different optometrists, Dr. Barnes is the first to thoroughly assess the health of my entire eye/eyelids (and diagnose other issues that were causing my "dry/itchy eyes"). She also adjusted my prescription which has significantly helped me feel less strained. She focuses on high quality (and not quantity) care so please "see" for yourself. :)

This modification ended my headaches and squinting. Finding a good, attentive and interested optometrist is essential to good vision. I highly recommend this place. Additionally, Vision Corner glasses and fulfillment of the prescriptions are correct. I purchased a pair of "backup" glasses from Costco and will never do that again. The glasses are not comfortable. There was no guidance in my selection, which is now apparent that I chose something that did not fit my face. And, the lenses of my glasses are not as clear and accurate as my glasses from Vision Corner. There is a distinct difference between my Vision Corner glasses and my cheaper ones. The frame selections are very chic. The doctors and staff are very dedicated to making sure every customer has the right prescription and lense for their needs. I had some questions about the prescription I was given and Dr Barnes spent 45 minutes or more with me to answer every questions, address every concern and educate me on my prescription. Vision Corner is a top notch place and I highly recommend it. I have gone there for my vision exams and those of my family for years. They have always been professional, knowledgeable and up to date with the latest technology. What I didn’t know is that they also handle medical issues with the eye. This week, I lacerated my cornea. It was very painful and I knew I had to seek attention. I was en route to urgent care when my husband told me to head to Vision Corner. I never knew they could handle a medical emergency like that! They got me in immediately and with their quick response and expert knowledge, I avoided a more disastrous scenario with my eye. They have the appropriate equipment there on site (which most of the time urgent care does not have the right eye equipment!) and they were so caring and gracious. I saw them two more days and they really took the time to make sure I healed in full. They take insurance so I just had to pay my copay and follow up fees so I avoided more expensive ER costs. I wanted to review and share this so everyone knows if you have an eye injury, 1) please seek medical attention as the eye will get worse and there can be scary ramifications if you try and treat yourself. I could have lost my vision. And 2) go to Vision Corner. You will be in the best hands, they are so easy and kind and make the entire process a comfortable and easy one. They are fantastic!

Dr. Barnes and her staff took excellent care of my son and I during our recent visits to Vision Corner. Initially, I scheduled an appointment for myself and brought my son along. After the exam, Dr. Barnes informed me that I am far-sighted and have astigmatism. She explained that astigmatism is normally hereditary and asked if she could do a preliminary exam on my son at no cost. The preliminary numbers showed that my son also has astigmatism. We then made arrangements to bring him in the following day for a full eye exam. It was confirmed that my son also has a stigmatism. I am very appreciative to Dr. Barnes for taking good care of me, but more importantly, for uncovering my son's need as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

The wait times are long. They don't put the prices on the glasses so you don't know how much you're paying beforehand or if you can afford them. Once you decide on your dream pair of glasses, you find out that they cost an arm and a leg but by then its too late because you've already fallen in love with them. She went over my medical history and recommended for me to try daily contacts because of my allergies and the amount of time I spent in front of a computer screen.
