There are only 5 stars but I'd rate Downtown Vision 20/15 would see again 😎 Dr. Chun and Mia manage to be both easygoing and professional, which sounds simple in theory but is difficult to accomplish nowadays. Got my eye exam, glasses, and now contacts here. And make sure you ask about the feathers and copper wire in the picture frame next to the exam chair.

Dr. Chun & his wife Mia are great! Friendly and professional they gave me an eye exam and ordered my new glasses. About 5 days later they text me my glasses were ready. Dr. Chun took the time to adjust my new frames to fit best.

Dr. Chun and Mia are very nice and professional. I renewed my glasses prescription for nearsightedness/ astigmatism, today and I'm confident that I couldn't have gotten more accurate results. I even got my glasses same day, all in less than an hour. And I saved $75!

Went to Downtown Vision for a routine eye exam, and would highly recommend Dr. Chun. He explains everything very clearly for you, and even engages you to better appreciate what the various aspects of an eye exam consist of. He was very honest and never tried to sell anything. One of the best experiences I've had with an optometrist.

I have been wearing glasses for nearly twenty years. Went here after moving from another city for an eye exam that I was very behind on and to get some new glasses made. Dr. Chun gave me what was easily the MOST THOROUGH eye exam I have ever received by far. He was also extremely friendly and supportive the entire time and explained every step better than any eye doctor I have ever had. And this is coming from someone who has a phobia for anything having to do with my eyes. They also got my new glasses made super quickly and made sure I was happy with them before I left the store. If you need an eye exam or new glasses, this is a no brainer. Go here!

Went for a routine eye exam, and they are so nice and helpful. Everything was clearly explained to me, and Dr Chun even helped my husband adjust his glasses despite him not getting them there. Super responsive and friendly.

That was the most comfortable eye exam I've had in years. Dr. Jonathan Chun, a people person, made this experience unforgettable. I wish my last eye doctor was as nice and informative as Dr. Chun is. I would highly recommend Downtown Vision Hawaii. Friendly atmosphere, safe environment, and clean. Great for the busy folk in Downtown Honolulu. Easy Breezy check-in process. The BEST!

Dr. Chun and his team are an absolute pleasure to work with. Originally I was only looking to have my nosepads replaced - Dr. Chun personally took care of it, in less than five minutes. Didn't need to drop my glasses and come back later! Dr. Chun is very thorough, as he asked what model of the frames I had to ensure it would be done that afternoon. He was the only one in downtown that asked me this during any of my calls. While I was there I wanted to see if I could buy ear socks from him (the silicone tips that sit behind your ears, making glasses more comfortable to wear). What made my experience so exceptional was that although he didn't have any spares in stock, he ordered them for me from their distributor. Oakley didn't even do that for me when I asked them to! While waiting for them to come in, he gave me updates regarding its whereabouts, and saved me the trouble of visiting when he was sent tips for the wrong model. He even gave them to me for no additional charge! I will definitely be visiting again to buy prescription sunglasses, thank you Dr. Chun!

Excellent experience. I already had an eye glass prescription but wanted contacts. Unfortunately I do not have eye insurance, though. After calling all over the island I found Downtown Vision. They quoted me a very fair price for the contacts exam and the actual experience was top notch. Friendly staff, clean and modern facilities and good prices. I don't know what else you could ask for. Will be returning for all future appointments!

Dr Chun is amazing! I was on vacation in Hawaii and I had cellulitis in my right eyelid. He was patient, caring and went above and beyond to help me get better. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness and his help! He is a truly great doctor who cares deeply for his patients. I recommend him if you're in Honolulu. You won't find a better eye doctor.

Lost my glasses in the ocean today 5/13/2021 (I know I should've taken them off before playing in the waves, I dont need salt on the wound) and I searched and called every optometrist in the Waikiki area. They all said that it would be impossible to get glasses before my vacation ends on the 17th. That wasn't the case for Downtown vision, they were able to work with my insurance and get me into a new pair today in under 2 hours. Not to mention how this was a case of extraordinary luck that they had the lenses in stock. I am so thankful for Dr. Chun and his assistant for this. 10/10 highly recommend!

My glasses broke due to my clumsiness. I decide to check on the closest optometrist near me, and I find Dr. Chun and Downtown vision. I walked in, and before you know it, my glasses were fixed. Although Makalapa Clinic was not able to give me the service I needed, being Downtown sure has its benefits! Dr. Chun was very polite and professional. I got a discount on the repair of my glasses and just doing as Doctor Chun told me to leave a good review!

Dr. Chun may not have literally saved my life, but it sure felt like he did (and he very possibly saved my vision). I walked into Downtown Vision without an appointment thinking I had something stuck in my eye that would take a couple of minutes to dispose of. Dr. Chun immediately saw me, and after examining my eye informed me that I had a dangerous infection spreading across my left pupil. He gave me a prescription to fill on the spot with detailed instructions as well as his personal phone number for any questions that might come up. Since then, I’ve seen him numerous times to follow up, including several walk-in visits that can’t have been particularly convenient for him. He always saw me as soon as possible and gave me his undivided attention. Dr. Chun and his wife, Mia, have been nothing but gracious, generous, and supportive throughout this whole nightmarish episode. Dr. Chun’s patience and commitment to care are truly unparalleled—I knew that he really cared about what happened to me and wanted to help, and that made all the difference. Oh, and did I mention he fixed my glasses for free during one visit when he noticed one of the arms was broken? Dr. Chun and Mia are as kind and caring a medical team as you will ever find—you would be lucky to cross paths with them, and I highly recommend you walk in their door ASAP for any sort of eye issue that might come up.

Dr. Chun and his wife were very helpful. I have a wrinkle on both eyes that he is monitoring. I was able to see the picture of the wrinkles on both eyes. It’s comforting for him to say not to worry and we’ll keep an eye on it since it’s just starting. Love the machines he has to check everything. Also have a nice selection of frames.

These people are so welcoming and gracious, and always take the time to help me, free of charge. Very happy with the care and service I received at Downtown Vision today! Everything from scheduling, to the office to the interactions with Mia and Dr. Chun were superb. The eye exam was excellent. Dr. Chun patiently explained everything that happened during the exam, his findings and what lens or contact options would be helpful for me. The technology and equipment used during the exam is pretty cool as well. I especially enjoyed the dynamic eye chart!
