These people are the best! Lovely front of office people and friendly informative doctors. Don't be put off by the small location and rooms - My 4th ophthalmologist location in the city and hopefully the last one I'll ever need. The front desk people are very helpful and accommodating and despite some doctor turn overs, both that I've seen have been great.

Thorough, caring, transparent, and efficient. Came here for my first real eye health exam. They were completely transparent with my insurance and emailed me my expected copay a few days before my visit. Checkin process was easy and quick. Dr. Lina Cawog was thorough, provided many options for tests, and they had some new machines that meant there was no need for eye dilation. I will definitely be coming back for future eye visits!

They are open 7 days a week! The staff have been helpful every time I've visited. They have a variety of chic high-end glasses, and many of them are good for low-bridge fit. Unfortunately they can't add nosepads to frames. They take VSP insurance.

Great little spot, really friendly service, easy to book appointments. After booking an appointment, I left a message to please call me back with a confirmation of what my insurance covers and what my out of pocket costs would be for the things I needed done, and they responded promptly with all the information I needed. Then after my exam, when deciding which contact lenses and eyeglasses to buy, they were very transparent about pricing, understood that my insurance didn't cover hardware so I was trying to be conscious of cost, and let me take my time to do a cost comparison with other online sources to feel confident that I was getting the best price through them.

Fantastic experience, incredibly easy to schedule an appointment. Doctor Kavoussi took the time and care to explain everything in depth, assuring me throughout every step of the exam. The process was seamless, and it took next to nothing to get my insurance approved, unlike many places I’ve had experience with. Omayra was also very helpful in suggesting frames for my new glasses. Everyone was very welcoming, and I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for frames

I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 18 months (I am 28 now) so, needless to say, I’ve been to many many optometrists. I wish I was exaggerating when I say my experience at eyes on second is the best I’ve ever had and I am honestly so overjoyed to finally feel like my eyes have a home base. dr shneur made me feel safe, welcome, seen and heard. aside from her extensive knowledge in what truly seems like absolutely everything eye related, she is a joy to be around. her energy is affirming and positive. she is thorough with her explanations and honest with what is going on. they have all the equipment needed to get the job done and their admin staff is great at sending appointment reminders and checking in to make sure you have everything you need for a smooth appointment. I felt and feel so well taken care of at eyes on second. I’ve been singing their praises to everyone because we all deserve this level of intention and regard.

Had an incredible experience here! Eye exam from Dr. Cowag is super speedy and efficient, she explained every step of the process and we just had a great conversation! I'm really glad that I came across Eyes on Second when I needed to make a last-minute eye exam. Dr. Schneur is very nice and performed the exam quickly and thoroughly. This was my first ever eye exam! I arrived a few minutes early and was seen right away. The doctor answered all of my questions, explained what my prescription meant, and was very sweet and extremely knowledgeable. I really appreciated that she was evidence based especially in regards to things like blue blockers. She was honest and helpful! I loved the help in the front with the try on, Covid safety policies are followed but don’t get in the way! I can’t wait to pick up my first ever pair of glasses! They said the turn around time should be about a week. Thank you!!

The optometrist was on time, super nice, and clearly explained what was going to happen with the procedure. Unfortunately, there was a machine malfunction to do my retina exam. I had opted for that over dilation. So I need to go back when my contacts arrive--no big deal. The office staff was very nice and courteous as well. Prior to the appointment they were also clear with what I would need to pay for that my insurance wouldn't, so there weren't any surprises. Looking forward to returning and trying out contacts.

I booked my appointment with Eyes on Second on Zocdoc. When I went to there on the day of my appointment, the receptionist asked me for my information to confirm my identity (name, address, time of appointment) and then requested me to take a seat on the brown chairs near the office doors. The wait time was about 10 minutes, which is not bad. Dr. Lina Cawog had to finish up her appointment with the previous patient. It's been about a decade or so since I've been to any optometrist. I didn't really know what to expect, but Dr. Lina Cawog was very articulate and clear about the steps for the eye exam. I gave her my glasses, she took their prescription down, and during the eye exam, she found that my prescription had changed drastically from the prescription of my glasses. The exam tested both of my eyes through different lenses, one at a time, on the clarity of the letters on the screen. After my eye exam, I had to get a new pair of glasses because my prescription changed drastically since my previous prescription many years ago. The only suggestion I have is for the optical receptionist to ask the patient about the frame price range budget since not everyone has the budget for luxury brand glasses. That would show to me that, in addition to the profit, you are compassionate towards your patients. I ended up purchasing a very expensive pair of frames, but I guess that's fine since I likely won't purchase another pair any time soon. Overall, I had a positive experience at Eyes on Second. I'll be coming back here for my annual eye exams, and I'd recommend anyone to check them out. Oh, and Dr. Cawog was very personable, which made the appointment more enjoyable as well!

The building was clean, and moving patients between checking in, seeing the Doctor, choosing frames, and paying was seemless. Each of their Team Members proved to be knowledgeable and professional. I was a little wary when I saw how small the shop was, but it was a wonderful visit! Dr Cawog was very informative and efficient, and explained everything I needed to know, not to mention how kind she was. The staff was helpful and had my insurance information ready to go when I was looking at frames and helped me pick a pair that really fit my face. Obviously, they do try to upsell on the lenses, but they weren't pushy when I said I couldn't afford it either.

I wish I was updated a bit sooner to avoid the miscommunication. Original Review: Quite disappointed by their service. Had two great appointments with Dr. Seema Amin, she was great, I'd love to see her again in future, but it takes them eternity to replace my lenses, I was told that since they'll get my new lenses it would take them about two days to replace them, but it's a 3rd week and each time I call, I'm told to wait for several more days.

I really appreciate the care with which they approach their practice and that they thoroughly explain everything they are doing throughout each visit. their customer service is amazing. i arrived 30 min late due to the the first snow in NYC slowing everything down, and they were still able to accommodate me that day. and they were patient with me as i tried on frame after frame. they've also done very well with being very conscious of the spread of covid. they made sure they cleaned every frame i tried on before placing it back on the shelf. and i definitely appreciate how they kindly reminded a patient to make sure his mask was covering his mouth and nose.

So happy a colleague from a neighboring office in my building referred me here! From start to finish, my experience was top notch. It was super easy to make an appointment (all online! And availability the same day sometimes!) and I got an immediate response via email from the receptionist confirming my visit and asking for my insurance info. She was very professional and knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest technologies and recommendations for contacts. Eyes on Second was good but my review focus is on Dr. Cawog. She was very caring, detailed oriented, cheerful while at the same time professional. My cheap mask broke and she gave me a KN95 mask. She went over every single detail of my eye issue history. I did not even know that cleaning our glasses lenses with our shirts could damage the coat protection on the lenses. She even explained what the numbers on the contact lenses boxes meant. She was very energetic and cheerful. I would strongly recommend her. However, if you are a person who perceive likes on Facebook or Instagram more important than your own health then that is not a place for you. The waiting line of patients was long, so your appointment is likely to be late. Well, when someone does a great job that is expected. It will take longer than 30 mins if your problem is more complex or you ask questions. I am glad my take longer. I left with all my questions answered and learned things I haven’t learned before. Be inquisitive, she will answer all your questions like she answered mine. Happy consultation with her.

I had a few questions that they promptly answered. The dr was kind, explained everything and I paid the same amount that they told me in the email. The person who helped me wasnt salesy like most eye drs are, I previously went to an eye dr closer to my work that I paid out of pocket for and the quality of care was sub-par to eyes on second. Have already recommended them to a co-worker. Also whatever eye dialation they use you dont need sunglasses after. Pleasantly surprised. could go back to work. It was fast but they checked a lot.

I first got my eyes checked here May 20th 2020. The visit was good but since i was unable to pull down my mask everything was foggy. Which leads to my next problem i recieved the completely wrong perscription for my glasses and contacts. On June 10th my glasses finally came in and when i put them on instantly I knew something was very wrong. I told the gentalmen in the front they felt off and he said my eyes needed to adjust. (which i understood) but hours passed and my eyes never adjusted i couldnt see anything at all. The next day i made an appointment with Dr. Cawog and she saved me. She allowed me to take off my mask for the exam and kept hers on. She then found the prescription i recieved was completely incorrect. She took her time helping me and was in no rush at all. Now finally my new contact prescription came in and I headed to pick them up and this is what has prompted me to write this review. The front staff has no idea what is going on but they do it with a smile at least. I was handed my contacts not marked and was told here you go. Then i asked, is the script is exactly the same? Knowing it was not and she said YUP. Then the only front staff member that actually knows what shes doing says no they are different. I'm unsure how to spell her name she a young african american woman and is so amazing! (okema) i probably didn't spell that right so i apologize. But if it wasnt for her i'd be back once again with another issue. The three stars is solely for location, the one front staff member that knows whats going on, and Dr. Cawog.

This is definitely a 5 star rated Optician. I have been to several different eye doctor (been wearing glasses since I was a pre-teen), and the even though I have moved to a different state Dr. Shiyan is the only doctor I would trust with my vision! They work with me and my schedule knowing full well that if I’m in NYC it’s only for a short period of time, and when my glasses are completed they mail them directly to my house. The staff works with me and is great at giving advice on looks and styles for all of my moods (they actually picked out my favorite pair of cat eye sunglasses)! They have also been patient in working with me to find the right pair of contacts for my stigmatism, since the brand I previously wore is no longer available. My whole family goes to this optometrist. Plus I love supporting small businesses!
