This place is fantastic - the staff are super friendly, Dr. Bennett is an amazing doctor, and they don’t keep you waiting around. Dr. Bennett was the first optometrist that actually prescribed a correction for my slight astigmatism in my glasses, which really reduced my headaches. He was also the first optometrist to notice my husband’s high eye pressure and refer him to an ophthalmologist, who performed a brief procedure that alleviated a lot of his eye pain (and future risk of glaucoma). When I wanted to get lasik, Dr. Bennett recommended an amazing ophthalmologist who did a perfect job. I still go to him to get my eyes checked each year, and he somehow manages to make doctors appointments fun. Last time, we tried on sunglasses while my eyes were dilating, and it made my morning. I genuinely can’t think of a better place to go for your eye care.

I had a wonderful experience at Columbus Eyeworks. I'm not sure the name of the staff member who initially brought me into a room and asked me questions but she was amazing. She was very personable and friendly. Dr. Kurt Bennett was training a new optometrist during my visit and he did a great job of helping her along while also double checking that everything was done correctly. Props to Dr. Bennett for handling an adult who acts like a toddler when it comes to eyes. He really made the experience so much less stressful and was a great sport about it. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend him to others looking for a fantastic optometrist. :)

The space is open with high ceilings. The staff is COVID conscious in a good way. My exam was gentle and easy. The optometrists were thorough, professional, yet casual and fun. This is an honest boutique style operation in the most exciting part of the city. I'm glad I chose Columbus Eyeworks

Been going here for years!! The staff is different even with that they are still the one to go to. Every pair of glasses I have gotten I get tons of compliments. I will tell you one thing they are like a well oiled machine- very thorough! From the pre-exam, the exam, to choosing a frame, to fitting, insurance and payment they are very professional and kind! I recommend you stop by here at least once in your eye glass wearing life! Like the song says, " We're still having fun! You're still the one!"

This place is so great! Dr. Bennett is very friendly and personable. He made me feel comfortable and had me laughing! You can tell that he’s very patient-centered and professional while also maintaining a sense of humanity and compassion. The store itself is STUNNING, parking is free in the garage across High Street (remember to get it validated by staff) & being in the short north contributes to a trendy and vibrant vibe. Well I DEFINITELY did NOT have the wonderful experience everyone else seems to have had. On 4/20 I went in for an appointment. I had my exam and picked out frames and sunglasses. I paid $1462.00. I asked if my insurance covered anything and was told this was cost after insurance. On 5/10 I scheduled an appointment to pick up my glasses. On 5/11 I went back to pick up my glasses and only the regular frames were ready, not the sunglasses. This was something I was NOT informed of the day prior on the phone. I tried the glasses on, loved the frames but advised I couldn't see through the lenses well at all. The female employee went into a long explanation about these being progressive lenses and how it takes a couple of days to get used to them. I asked what are progressive lenses, she explained and I said ok, I'll try them. Ryan advised they would call me the next day regarding my sunglasses. I went home & a few hours later called them advising I could not see my computer screen and hated the progressive lenses. They said give it a couple of days and someone would call me about the lenses and my sunglasses. That never happened. Finally, on 5/ 24, I called and said I want these progressive frames corrected-I cant see with them-and I want my money back for the sunglasses. Ryan said the sunglasses cracked during the process & that's why there was a delay & okay, call him before I come in. I called on 5/25, let them know I was on my way and went in for the exchange. He refunded $745 back to my Visa and said the remaining $717 was for my prescription glasses, even after insurance. The frames were $500. This did not sound right to me so I contacted my insurance company on 5/26. They said they have never received a claim from Columbus Eyeworks for my glasses, just for an eye exam. The rep said this is why I am being charged so much out of pocket. She advised Columbus Eyeworks is in network with them and covered. WHAT? I called them back and left a message for Ryan with that information and have yet to receive a callback, or ETA on the frames that were returned for correction. I am highly disappointed with the services and the products. I'm not sure why the office manager has not called me to resolve this situation so we can move forward and be done with it. Bill my insurance, put the corrected lenses in my frames and refund me properly. It seems pretty simple to me. I will update this review with the final outcome of this situation. Ryan called me and said I would be receiving a refund. WELL....woke up this morning to an alert from my HSA. Called them. Columbus Eyeworks charged an ADDITIONAL $106 to my HSA instead of refunding me. They have now put a fraud alert on them so they are no longer able to charge my card. I can't believe this.....It was HSA'S fault. Not Columbus Eyeworks. They DID issue a refund. The staff has been VERY nuce through all of this & Im SURE they will be glad when its all over. LoL

TLDR: trans friendly, kind, and thorough 10/10 highly recommend: Longer Version: I have been going to Columbus Eyeworks now for several months for my eye care needs. When I first needed an appointment early last fall or so, I needed new eye glass prescription and general eye health check up. I was nervous to go to the doctor as trans person, but Dr. Bennet and all his staff was incredibly kind and welcoming (also respectful of my preferred non-legal name and pronouns). I really appreciate how casual but respectful they were about this. Dr. Bennet also seemed to known a bit how testosterone can effect eye health as well - huge plus when I've experienced that a lot of doctors simple don't know about trans health care. He helped me find contacts that work with my dry eyes with astigmatism :) Love them! I am about to reorder more contacts through their office... Dr. Bennet and staff are all friendly, knowledgeable, and professional (not uncomfortably professional though). Location is convenient as I live and work downtown. Office is clean, modern, and feels COVID safe too!

I chose Columbus Eyeworks based on their location & excellent Google reviews and they didn't disappoint. They go beyond the typical eye doctor experience by having an extremely friendly staff and I enjoyed how quirky Dr Bennet is. It feels like you actually get a little of authenticity and pieces of everyone's real personality instead of a stale 'doctor visit' experience. Also very speedy; no waiting around in the office which deserves major kudos. The only thing I'd challenge them on is what else could they offer to make the patient experience even better? For example, online scheduling? More education around your eyes and how screentime affects them? Those memorable pieces make a difference.

Called and was given an appointment the next day. When I arrived, I was helped promptly, Doctor Hickey was courteous, and answered all my questions as the exam went on (as this was my first exam ever, I had kind of a lot). Lastly, when cluelessly trying to pick out frames, the wonderful Carla lead me around, make a ton of suggestions, and help me figure out what did and didn't work on me. I had a wonderful experience, and will definitely go back for my yearly exams. Update: Went back in around a week later to pick up my glasses and Carla again was a wonderful help, making adjustments on the spot, and just generally helping me get used to how I was wanting to wear my new glasses. The entire process from calling for an appointment, to finally picking up my glasses was an amazing, painless process, and I don't plan on going anywhere else for my exams/glasses.

I had a great experience at Columbus Eyeworks and Dr. Koch is a fantastic eye doctor! I ordered contacts that I’ve been wearing for over 6 months and I have never been able to see so well!! I have been wearing contacts for 21 years and every single eye doctor had been giving me way too strong prescriptions, but not Dr. Koch! I always had eye sensitivities, red, irritated, dry eyes, and extremely uncomfortable contact wear... But now I forget that I’m even wearing contacts and have accidentally slept in them a couple times (which I never was able to even do before). One morning I even woke up and tried putting a new contact over yesterday’s contact! I could keep going on, but I think you get the point.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Koch for a few years now and I think he's great. Besides doing the examination, he also listens to what you have to say and can make adjustments or suggestions accordingly. The frames selection is very good. From conservative to completely unique, with lots inbetween. I wanted something that would stand out a bit but not be completely out there. Their selection made that easy. Also, they even special ordered a frame for me that I liked but they didn't have in stock. The front staff are all very nice and knowledgeable. I've interacted with a number of them over the last few years and they are all very easy to work with. They won't push to upsell you something you don't want or need. So no unnecessary pressure. They will help you out however they can.

Just had my eye exam earlier this evening, and I can't recommend this place enough. Everyone is ridiculously friendly. Dr. Koch went the extra mile to get my prescription to 20/20, and Todd Snyder helped me pick out a couple of frames in my price range that I would have otherwise overlooked. I unfortunately had some issues with my insurance -- my exam was in-network but the frames / lenses weren't; however, even then, Todd spent about 15 minutes working with me to deliver a detailed quote and estimate roughly how much it would cost if I shopped around at other locations. Fantastic service all around. Even if I can't get my prescription filled at Columbus Eyeworks with my new insurance provider going forward, I will absolutely go back on a yearly basis for the eye exam. Thank you!

Beautiful glasses, frequently get complements on every pair that I have purchased there. More importantly, the docs are thorough and knowledgeable. Dr. Koch has helped my family identify some minor and in some cases serious vision issues that were missed by others. Dr. Hickey is just as amazing. You can buy a pair of Prada frames many places, so I come here for eye care from intelligent, thoughtful, and respectful professionals.

I've been going to Columbus Eyeworks for a couple years now. I have terrible eyesight and they are always very patient with me during the vision test. I have never seen Dr. Koch, always see Dr. Hickey or previously the female doctor who was there a few years ago. The staff is friendly, very knowledgeable. I agree with one of the other posters that sometimes you have to wait a little bit when you have an appointment, but the place is always busy, and I don't mind. The doctor isn't rushed when he's treating you, he takes the time to answer any questions, Dr. Hickey is extremely friendly and chats while he's doing your exam so it doesn't feel like a sterile eye appointment. I have recommended Columbus Eyeworks to everyone I know and will continue to do so. Thank you to the team at Columbus Eyeworks for the awesome service.

Great experience! There wasn't anyone else in the office when i went in so I had instantaneous service. The Dr. was all business and got me through the exam pretty quick. I spent way more than I intended to when I woke up this morning but it's not the offices fault I like nice things. Come with me if you want to live but more importantly, I'll be back!

I have been going here for 4 years. They are amazing at suggesting great glasses styles for my face. Even if they weren't styles I would have picked, they ended up looking great on me and I would get all sorts of compliments. Their frames are expensive because they carry high end brands. I have never regretted paying extra for glasses and sunglasses because they last twice as long as discount frames. The only time I had to go back to have my frames adjusted were after I was in a car accident. The glasses flew off my face and were only a little bit bent. and are on my face ALL THE TIME.
