I had my first appointment at Village Eyecare this week, and it was such a pleasure. The office is clean and welcoming, and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I worked with Michel and Amanda, they were terrific! They have a great selection of frames and are very knowledgeable about each brand. Dr. Bradley was very thorough and took her time with my exam, even though they were running behind schedule. Highly recommend!

One of the best experiences while going to an eye exam ever! I was able to schedule my appointment online, received a confirmation of the appointment that was most convenient for me. All of the eye care specialists and my Optometrist were exceptionally knowledgeable and professional. I honestly haven't had glasses in years and the village eyecare team made everything quick and easy. It was much more better than the big box store I had previously went through. I had great help at Village from the very start including the exam and choosing my glasses. I was also very surprised that the glasses came so fast. Everything about the service was wonderful. EDIT: They called me and managed to lower the bill. Adjusted rating to 4* Walked in to a eye-pleasing location and friendly staff. I had a great appointment and had to come back for adjustments but in the end got my contacts correctly adjusted. However, they did not go through what was covered through insurance and I got billed 2 extra exams that my benefits did not cover. I called my insurance provider and they said the additional exams were unnecessary. Make sure to ask for an itemized list before accepting any treatment. If I was told on the spot I would have canceled the appointment. Would not recommend unless you have extra cash you'd like to throw at them.

Fabulous service! I went to have my eyeglass and contact prescription updated. The exam was a pleasant experience and I was able to ask some questions I had about my prescriptions without feeling rushed. Michele at the front was very helpful, she picked out some great frames for me to try out, one of which I ended up deciding to go with. I was very pleased with my experience!

The owner is The example of the best customer service and patient care i have ever encountered. As a doctor and business owner I think of this optometrist as an example to match. I had an eye injury emergency and have never been a patient of this practice before or knew any of the doctors. We googled, found this place and called the number on the website. The owner of the place offered to come meet me at the closest location in 45 min, took care of my emergency, made sure to prescribe proper meds and make me as comfortable as possible. I am the biggest fan for the rest of my life and I will try to make sure I provide similar service to my patients! This review is late by 3 years, but I still think about this practice as an example to follow!

Update to review in Fall 2018: Returned again this year for my annual check up, and the staff was very helpful, the eye doctor listened, offered advice, and overall it was a positive eye exam experience. When I was leaving, the staff helped me work through what was or wasn’t covered by insurance. However later I called to place an order for contacts, and yet again there were issues with getting charged the correct amount. Overall, after 3 visits with Village Eye Care and 3 times having issues with getting charged the right amount, I’m seriously reconsidering my eye doctor. Original review from Fall 2017: This was my first time going to the Wicker Park location, but my second time going to a Village Eyecare location overall. The area was clean, staff was friendly, everything was timely and I had a great appointment, up until the billing. Last year at the Taylor location I wasn't charged correctly, but I assumed that was a one-off thing. However, a similar thing happened here and I ultimately was not charged the correct amount. Highly recommend being familiar with your insurance coverage yourself, and talking through the final statement prior to paying any charges to ensure you're paying the appropriate amount. (Also, would recommend doing this before you have your eyes dilated, so you can actually read the itemized bill.)

To begin, I found Village Eyecare (the Wicker Park location) online and realized how convenient their location was to where I lived. I immediately called to schedule my annual eye exam appointment. The woman who answered my call was very professional, patient, and accommodating. Upon walking into Village Eyecare, I was immediately greeted at the door and asked how I could be helped. Coffee and water were provided, exactly what I needed after a long work day. Right at the time my appointment was to start, a technician took me back to read my current prescription. I was brought back to the waiting area for the doctor to call me back for the rest of my appointment. I really appreciated how the doctor took the time to make sure I had the right prescription. She was very friendly, personable, and made me feel welcomed as a first time patient. When checking out, the staff was not pushy in buying certain products or eyeglasses. Overall, I enjoyed my experience because it was thorough, professional, calm, concise and welcoming. I think that Village Eyecare sets themselves apart from other eye doctors because their clinic looks very chic and clean from the outside and from the inside. They have an amazing staff that really show they care about you and your visit. Excellent place! I have recommended Village Eyecare to my roommates, friends and family and hope that everyone that visits them feels the same way!

I'm a new patient coming from a suburban eye doctor to the city; what a difference! The front desk staff is so friendly, the waiting area is spacious & comfortable to be in, and my appointment ran right on time. The doctor I met with was personable and she made getting my vision right easy! They matched a contact lens price I've been receiving from a different provider and they have a great selection of frames to choose from. I've already recommended four friends to switch over.

I unfortunately had a serious concussion while playing a sport. I had tons of astigmatism/Dryness to the right eye. gladly I found out about the Wicker Park Location. The Staff along with the doctor are incredible. I had poor vision and right away told me I had a solution with contacts. I am so pleased with everyone and their staff, they treat you with so much respect. The prices are reasonable and really worth it. The female doctor will sit down with you and find the best possible way to make you feel good and better about your vision and yourself.

Went here for an annual exam/contact lens fitting and had a great experience. Loved the fact that I was able to try on my new contact lens prescription there, and see what adjustments may be needed before confirming the prescription. Really friendly staff as well. Recommend!

I just moved to Chicago from Texas and I have been in desperate need of a good optometrist. I was researching different facilities around my area and Village Eyecare in Wicker Park was the one that caught my eye (no pun intended). I had such a great experience! The front desk receptionists were very accommodating and friendly. The facility was easy to find and very nice inside. Before seeing my optometrist, I was able to quickly peruse their great selection of fun and stylish selection of eyeglasses from Ray Ban, L.A. Eyeworks, Tom Ford, and other great brands. My appointment was with optometrist, Dr. Koutnik and she was absolutely wonderful. She took her time during my exam and was incredibly helpful. I was able to pick out some super cute glasses with the help of one of the staff members. I will definitely be coming back for all of my future eye care needs. I highly recommend this place!!!

Can't say enough good things about the staff here! I had LASIK a few years ago to correct my -7.5 vision but was still having trouble seeing signs clearly while driving. I scheduled an appointment easily online and saw Dr. Sarai who listened to all of my issues and performed a regular eye exam. He was super friendly and professional and their equipment is really state of the art, I was really impressed. He found I needed a slight correction in each eye so after my exam, Elaine helped me pick out the perfect glasses from l.a. Eyeworks - though it was hard to choose because they have so many great frames. Highly recommend Village Eyecare to anyone in the area - they are the best!

Extremely thorough eye exam and the newest contact lenses available for trial. I wasn't able to complete my dilation at my exam visit due to a schedule conflict, so they helped me schedule a better time for dilation only next month. I really appreciate that flexibility!

Dr. Sarai is very good with children and explained everything so that both my daughter and I understood. I've been to both the Wicker Park and South Loop locations - the doctors and teams at both are great. FYI, they carry different eyeglass frames across their locations, so if you're not finding what you're looking for, you can check out what the other locations have to offer and all offices have access to your prescription details - it's very convenient!
