I was highly impressed with Vision Source South Asheville during my first appointment yesterday afternoon. Dr. Haley, Peyton & the operation staff were all amazingly kind & professional! I experienced several traumatic eye issues & corrective surgeries four years ago, but haven’t had my eyes checked in two years - So I greatly appreciate that Dr. Haley & her staff spent the time they required to do a thorough mapping & examination of my eyes to establish a sufficient baseline for comparison with my previous records, as well as generate new prescriptions (far & near, & progressive) for corrective lenses once I’m ready for new glasses. Overall I highly recommend Vision Source South Asheville for anyone seeking optometry services around Asheville, & on a 5 star scale give them 6 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)!!!

Two years ago, I was referred to Dr. Lear by a friend. I had been a long-standing patient in a HUGE vision practice, and never felt like they knew who I was or really cared about my vision health. I was simply a number to them. At first with Dr. Lear, I was skeptical about being charged $49 extra for optional retinal imaging, something I had never heard of and certainly had never seen in my previous vision office. Then when I met with her, she showed me these amazingly clear images of my retinas and thoroughly explained what I was looking at. And she showed me pictures of unhealthy retinas so I could see what she was looking for. She answered my many questions and helped me figure out ways to cope with my frustrating age-related vision impairment (my eyes are healthy, but I have normal vision impairment requiring correction near to far). Between her and her genuinely friendly & knowledgeable staff, I felt seen and heard. I was surprised by the amount of time Dr. Lear spent with me...I didn't feel like she was rushing through my appointment to get to the next patient. Last year after seeing her for the first time and receiving my new glasses, my vision was just not quite right, so Dr. Lear re-examined me and ordered a new pair of lenses that did work for me. This year, Peyton, her Optometric Technician, remembered me and we picked up conversation right away as she went through my history and testing. And once again, Dr. Lear spent lots of time with me, making sure my eyes were healthy. I was reminded all over again why I came to this practice...and I am so happy that I did!

I had an issue with the scheduling at first due to some technical problems. These were promptly addressed and corrected. My appointment went great and was probably one of the best eye doctor trips I've ever experienced. They seem to have the latest and greatest when it comes to test equipment. Having proper imaging done without having to get your eyes dilated is great because it tends to be hard to drive in the state. I didn't feel like the appointment was rushed and Dr. Lear is very good at what she does. She and her staff took time to explain everything that was going on and were able to answer all of my questions. They have a nice selection of frames and lens options available as well. I will definitely be back.

I must have gotten 4 in total after I had replied to the first one. Later that day I got another asking me to pre-register for NEXT year's visit.

Dr. Lear and her staff made me feel very comfortable! They all have the most welcoming and friendly attitudes. Dr. Lear was very thorough with her exam. The staff here are a TREAT! Dr. Lear let me ask all of my eyesight-related and eyesight-adjacent questions; I really appreciated her patience in making sure I understood each part of the eye exam process and what went into finding my prescription. Kelly, Peyton, and Corbyn are the DREAM TEAM! I take glasses shopping very seriously as I wear glasses at every waking moment, and this team was so helpful in letting me try on frames. It was so nice to get their opinions and help with my decision-making process. Kelly was especially helpful in the lens shopping area, making sure I understood the difference between the different lenses and add-ons and even let me try out the different sunglasses lens options in the frame to make sure I was truly happy. I had such a great experience at this office! Very professional and all the staff was so sweet and friendly. I had avoided the eye doctor for five years because I was so terrified of getting my eyes dilated and all that, but I talked to them about it on the phone and they assured me that they would touch my eyes as little as possible and the only uncomfortable part of the exam was the pressure test which was over very quickly. They did everything they could to put my mind at ease and have great deals and packages and will work with you on prices! Definitely recommend :)

This was by far the best experience I have ever had with an eye exam and buying glasses! The doctor and staff are very welcoming and make you at ease through the whole process which is incredible with the state of the art equipment! No eye dilation unless she sees something she needs to take a closer look at and no puff of air in the eye! The in depth look into your eyes is incredible! It's amazing what you can learn just from your eyes! My son and I both had exams done and purchased glasses and contacts. We highly recommend Twenty 20. We have found our home eye place!

I found Dr Aundria Lear by searching for best eye doctor (or something like that). After cataract surgery I could not get new progressive glasses to work. Other offices said I had to get used to them. I paid for an extra eye exam with dr Lear who gave me a correct prescription and I finally had perfect glasses. Now I will go back to Dr Lear for my checkups!

Dr. Lear has been my optometrist for several years now, and I want others to know how amazing she is. My eye exam was thorough, and because she has the newest equipment in the field, I was spared having to have my eyes dilated (ugh, eyedrops!) and the dreaded "puff of air" glaucoma test. Those things have always caused me some stress, and I am glad they're no longer part of the process (unless the initial other tests indicate a need for a closer look, which, thankfully, mine did not). Dr. Lear always takes time to explain to me what she is doing and seeing, and I always feel confident in my results. She is friendly and approachable, and she cares about me as a person...today, when I went for my exam, she even asked about my dog, who was sick last week, which meant I had to reschedule my appointment at the last minute. Her office is lovely...spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. She has a large selection of high-quality frames, and her optician, Leslie, took a lot of time with me, helping me choose a pair that I would like and find comfortable. I will not go to another optometrist...I love Dr. Lear, and I recommend her highly!

My glasses were slipping off of my face so much at work I called to see if they could help. They told me to stop by when I could (even though I didn’t even purchase them at 20 20) and they could try. 5 minutes inside and they realigned my glasses with no charge (I would still call to make sure, before assuming they will do free services). The inside was beautiful and it looks like they have a great selection of eyewear. A+ to the staff, the shop, and the service!

What started out to be just a normal shopping day and lunch with my daughter, turned into me desperately needing an optometrist QQQUICK !!! Since I have never had any eye problems or issues with my eyes, my sudden 'RED' eye totally alarmed me & I knew I needed someone to see me soon. My daughter & her husband see Dr. Lear so since we were in the Asheville area, she suggested I call her and see if she could check me out to see what my problem was. I was amazed when she said I could come right in . . . . . no waiting & she would examine my eye to see what the problem was. I was so very impressed with Dr. Lear and her professionalism & all the modern technology offered at Twenty20, and the fact that she just took me in with no appointment. She took care of my eye issue and I told her before leaving, that if she would have me as a new patient, I SSSOOO wanted to stay with her for all my future vision needs. So, this week I went in for my first eye exam with Dr. Lear and I must say, I was so very impressed with her professionalism, her kind and compassionate personality, her very friendly and professional staff, the newness of the office, and her vast selection of eyeware to choose from. Dr. Aundria Lear is nothing short of a miracle-worker. I went in blind, and I came out with sight. I went in with a glass of water, and I came out with a glass of wine. I went in lame, and I came out running laps around Usain Bolt. Seriously though, Dr. Lear is amazing. My prescription changes from year to year because I'm a full time student and read a lot (or I just burn my eyes out watching Netflix...the world may never know), but she is able to handle whatever optical challenges I throw at her. She hooked me up with some bomb contacts, and I still have some amazing glasses frames from last year. The service is explosively great. If you need an eyeball miracle, she'll hook you up.
