The doctors are great but the front desk staff not so much. I made two appointments for the both of us. I made the appointments at the beginning of last month. I gave the lady information for the both of us and answered questions for the both of us. We show up today, only my wife was scheduled. The women at the front desk were like "oh well". The did offer to work one of us in but it could have been a 2 hour wait. We had to pass because I was part of services at my synagogue tonight. My wife said she was mad about it and one of the women got angry at her for being angry!

Stopped in for assistance with my glasses - a nose pad broke while on vacation so found them via a Google search when we stopped in Asheville. Stopped in the next morning with no appointment and they fit in my repair and had me back on the road in 15 minutes! - Both nose pads replaced and glasses fully cleaned by one of their techs. And they wouldn't accept any payment! Kudos and Many Thanks!!! to Tunnel Vision. Great folks!

EXCELLENT customer experience. Bryant suggested an excellent frame. I wanted the lenses tinted a specific color. I provided a swatch, and when I picked them up, Tammy had NAILED IT! I am very happy and extremely relieved. Staff are friendly and professional. Dr. William Teague was great and was able to determine what the other doctors were getting wrong with my other glasses. This had been my first experience at Tunnel Vision (in the past I had strictly gone through Walmart), and let me tell you, there is no comparison!!! Every staff member I came in contact with was so sweet and helpful. Dr. Newton was very nice, and professional!! I was able to feel comfortable through the whole process! It is on the higher end when it comes to pricing, but it is so worth it!!! A beautiful selection of high quality glasses and after picking and ordering the frames I liked, it was only a two week wait to receive them!! (Considering the back log caused by the pandemic, I found this to be fairly fast). I highly recommend to those in search of a new optometrist or eye wear!!! Thank you Tunnel Vision ❤️

Dr Newton is extremely thorough. And he has been my doctor there for nearly 20 years. I appreciate the consistency. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The glasses are more expensive than some of the bargain places but very good quality. Lots of frame choices and replacement lens warranty. To me it’s worth the extra to get good quality and good help.

Tunnel Vision went the extra mile to assist my 85 year old parents in selecting frames for their new prescriptions. My parents had previously gotten overwhelmed in the eye glass frame department following their eye exam and left without ordering anything. I called the office and explained what had happened and asked to schedule an appointment when I could accompany them back to the office. The gentleman that assisted us was very nice and it appeared he had been informed that my parents might require a little different attention given their prior experience. We succeeded in ordering frames for both parents! It seems like everything gets harder as we all get older. It's nice that Tunnel Vision understands this and helped make one task a little easier for my parents.

Friendly staff, and Dr. Newton got me a very comfortable fit of contact lenses in no time. He seemed to really understand my eye weakness. Tunnel Vision is great! Dr. Newton and his staff are professional, kind and accommodating. I recently had an eye infection and needed to be seen as soon as possible. They were able to get me on the schedule the same day I called and I was prescribed antibiotics! What a relief! They are the best in town! The office is clean and neat. During Covid, everything is more complicated but they are doing their best to reduce risks - they came outside (with a mask on of course) to my car to deliver my contacts. Service with a smile!! Great place! My first eye exam in 20+ years and I was very happy with Dr. Newton and Amanda, the optician that helped me. They are an off-brand store, no Oakley or Gucci frames. I initially wanted athletic glasses with transition lenses that I could use more often, but they had nothing like that, so I ended up with smart-looking glasses that I’ll only use part-time. Also, they are extremely expensive. The quality seems good, but unknown frames over $300 + lenses with a $160 coating is nuts. I did it once. We’ll see how these work out.

Tunnel Vision's staff have always been so friendly and go out of their way to tell me what to expect cost-wise as well as honesty regarding which frames look best vs not. Dr, Newton has helped my vision (just slightly needed) with contacts and glasses. He knows what to ask/how to test my vision to find the exact strength. Tunnel Vision has more of a small town/friendly atmosphere compared to other larger eye offices in Asheville while still maintaining a large array of frames, care, equipment and flexibility with appointments.

I had an eye emergency after my puppy stepped on my eye. It was the weekend. I got a call back from on call doc and was seen that same afternoon for what was a scratched cornea. I had my annual eye exam yesterday. I signed in then waited in my car for only a few minutes before I was called on my cell phone to come inside. My exam went smoothly and in a timely manner. While I did not need to get new glasses or lenses, they did help adjust one pair of glasses for me and fixed another pair. It was a very good experience.

Doctors were great and it was a clean facility. Other than that, I think the glasses selection are terrible. Overall I am unhappy with my purchase and wished I had gone with my gut instead of listen to the technician telling me they look good. I was validated when everyone in my family told me how I felt the day I walked out. I feel like a jabroni and am already looking at another pair elsewhere. This is my fault and I take accountability for how much of a clown I look like. I should have gone with my gut when the technician had me try on a pair of glasses that were pretty much straight from the set of Harry Potter and looked at me serious. I swear I thought it was a joke at first. NOPE.

Certainly what I consider to be some very unfair, psycho reviews of Tunnel Vision lately. I've been a customer for 15 years and have never experienced anything but helpful staff, great doctors, the glasses I wanted in a variety of styles. Can't say much about the pricing, as most of that is what options you choose on the lenses, but they had what I wanted, when I wanted them, and I've experienced no trouble whatsoever.

Very positive experience! Hailey and the team were super engaging and just pleasant overall - it genuinely feels like they have a happy little work family. It's Covid so it's an extra process to try on glasses since they all need to be wiped down before and after being tried on and Hailey was so patient as I tried on a literal Mt Everest of opticals. Let's be real it's a very serious business picking out the perfect pair of specks, got to make sure they match who you want to be for the following year. Ended up it was a lot of fun to go on that journey with the Tunnel Vision crew as Hailey and I took great care in analyzing each pair I tried on. Though the journey was a mix of twists and turns of almost winners and who-was-I-kidding washouts we finally landed on the perfect pair! It was such a great experience that my husband upon hearing my raving reviews stopped by later in the week to pick out some prescription sunglasses for himself, and guess what, enjoyed himself just as much as I did. I mean that's 2 for 2. Sounds to me the odds are good you'll have a great experience here as well!

Wonderful customer service. Was vacationing in Asheville a few weeks ago when I accidentally bent my glass frame quite badly out of shape. I looked in Yelp and found Tunnel Vision which had good reviews. I went into their very busy store but didn’t have to wait long. Grace served me and was very gracious. She took my glasses, worked on them for about ten minutes, and returned them to me in perfect condition. When I asked how much, she told me that there was no charge! This in spite of the fact that i didn’t purchase the glasses there nor was I a regular customer. Wow! Thank you very much Grace and Tunnel Vision. Wishing you lots of success. Dr. Newton is very knowledgable and has taken care of all our eye problems. He spends all the time necessary to answer any questions and make you completely comfortable. It is a very busy office. There can be a little wait time, but you can be sure you will be given their complete attention when it is your turn. They do take walk-ins which can disrupt the schedule at times. I'm just glad to know that I will be seen if I have an immediate problem even if it may take a little while.

Several years back I developed an eye condition which frankly has contributed more than a bit of anxiety to obtaining my eye exams. Today, I had my appointment at Tunnel Vision in order to obtain an eye exam. The office is light and bright and the personnel reflect same. Friendly, kind , organized and competent. All. Christy, at the front desk, greets you smiling providing paperwork before the exam. The lovely lady with her at the desk, though on the phone, took time to smile and waved hello. Moving on to Mariah, for the initial work was a great place to start. She is funny and her humor puts one immediately at ease. Next up, I visited Dr. Newton. He was a researched choice as I am an RN by trade carefully choosing my practitioners. I found him extremely thorough in his examination of my eyes carefully continuing through the exam clearly trying to render my best vision possible. He is friendly, soft spoken and calm helping you feel that way too. I was impressed and glad I'd made the decision to see him. My first encounter with with the practice was with Denise as I'd come in a few days before to choose frames. A joy and very good at her job. Her complete explanation of my glasses/lens options and the benefits of the various choices was very helpful. Today, I saw Anna to complete the order of my new glasses. She was careful to secure all the info she needed to secure my best foray into progressive lens. My glasses ordered, I sought her help in the repair of my only pair of glasses which had been the victim of a very serious accident rendering them basically "dangling by a thread." Only the brave would have considered them anything else but fully terminal. Anna, knowing I had no other pair and it would be a bit of time before my new glasses would be ready...came to the rescue (thank you also optical department magician)...I know you were back there behind the scenes. You were intrepid to even attempt to resurrect them~ so badly damaged they were. If you need an optometrist. look no further! I have worn glasses for over 25 years and have had many exams. Dr. Newton is excellent. You will be pleased. While it goes without saying the eye examination is vital to the best outcome, at the end of the day, it's the whole group you will encounter before you leave with your glasses. This group is a joy. One does not always find competence and expertise coupled with such real desire to help you in a kind and joyful manner. You'll find that at Tunnel Vision. Go there. Update: March 20, 2018. Got glasses. Slight issue with bi-focal function. Stated my concerns to Ginger. She listened carefully, actually heard what I was saying and pro-acted in every possible way to achieve my very best result. Picked up lens re-adjustment. Voila...I can see! The real mark of a business is the handling of things that don't go according to specs. These folks rule. I'll end where I ended the first part of the review: Go there!

I was translating for one of my husbands friends .he had gotten hit in the eye,had no insurance.The lady that answered the phone never once judged me or was short at all. She was so sweet and helpful. She got me a appt. That same day. When i arrived i was not looked down in for having to speak Spanish.she repeatably told me how that she apreciated me being there for him... The assistant never looked down on us for speaking another language and was very helpful. The doc came in the room. Spoke the best spanish he could he helped us out. He did not do anything that was unnecessary.. He then said that we could come to him any time they had an emergency. And that the self pay was the cheapest we would find.(and trust me it was) Very very nice people... So pleased i never once felt like i didnt belong there...

Asheville Peeps, Tired of shady eye doctors in Asheville? Go see Tunnel Vision- Highly Recommend... Let me tell you that Asheville is full of shady eye doctors and I have been the victim of two of them. Tunnel Vision actually cares and is very welcoming and you feel like family. I never got the "I'm being cheated" feeling like I did at other establishments. The Doctor was very good and I think this he got my prescription correct. The lady who helped me with my frames, We will call her "Southern Peach" as she just relocated from Georgia, was very sweet and kind. She did not blink an eye when I mentioned my "husband" (yup we are gay) and even referred to him later so the whole place seemed gay friendly. The manager was equality as awesome and was training Southern Peach very professionally with empathy. Must be a great place to work! Also honorable mention to the lady with the European accent! She was also very helpful and reminds me of a young Sofia Loren. There is zero attitude here! Just sweet people trying to help you! Avoid these two places: Eye on Merrimon ( oh they closed so you don't have to worry) but they closed two weeks after I received my glasses that were not correct and since they closed I could not get any remedy Envision Eyecare: Bad Attitudes, Overpriced and wont fix any issues that you report with the prescription not being right! Avoid them!

After several awful experience at Asheville Eye Associates, this place was a breath of fresh air! My son is disabled and needed to have his special glasses molded to his head. Even though the glasses were purchased at AEA, Tunnel Vision agreed to mold them for us.
