Absolutely the only place I'd go for eye care. The staff at Envision are all incredibly helpful. Dr. Golson and Dr. Bryant are fabulous, caring, and really take the time to make sure you're treated properly with the perfect vision solutions. Also, they carry a variety of beautiful frames, from simple to quirky to glam. They go the extra mile—case in point, Kelci helped me order the perfect lenses online recently!

A+ experience from start to finish. I've worn glasses since I was 18 months (super cute little rubbery things with arms that wind around baby ears) and I've been in and out of optometrists office for as long as I can remember. Everything about this place has been top tier, without making me feel like I was too poor to be there. The appointment process is easy. The receptionists are wonderful. Dr. Bryant was wonderful. I normally wear prisms and when I brought that up he walked me through my old Rx and where I currently am. It's over two months without prisms and my eyes have been fine. Even the dilation process wasn't horrible. But the HERO at Envision is Kelci, the one who puts frames on your face. I gave her a tall order: give me the biggest frames you have. No you don't understand, bigger. She went above and beyond to get me frames I was happy with and then when the frames came in, and I wasn't completely happy with them, she went beyond AGAIN to special order monster-size 80s frames that made my mom take a double take. The whole time, she was delightful, encouraging, and cheerleading this journey. Not once did I feel like I was being ridiculous or needy. And they take insurance! I love my frames, I love my Rx. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get their eyes taken care of.

I've been going to Envision for about 3 years now. I'm very happy with the service and they really do go out of their way to take great care of you. It's a premium practice bur the service is also premium. The prescriptions are much better than my last provider. And they help you find the perfect frames for your preferences, right fit, lifestyle, and budget. It turns out that your frames should center your eyes in the lenses. Now I know! WOW, just WOW!!!! This place is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I had a particular eye wear manufacturer in mind that I wanted and did a Google search to see whom in my area may carry that brand. Asheville was the closest city with businesses that carried them. My search stopped immediately upon reading their Google reviews and calling in and speaking with Ashley to confirm they did in fact carry the brand. Ashley was such a Gem on the phone and set up an appointment for me to meet with one of their Optical Experts. Once I arrived, I was just in Awe of the "feel" of this beautiful business. It is so nice and welcoming. I met with Andrea C. to discuss my needs/desires. Andrea took the time to help me explore various options that may work for me with absolutely no "sales pressure". Thank you to Andrea for your patience and attention to detail. I could not have been more pleased with my experience with this establishment. In addition to annual preventative checkups, Dr. Golson and Dr. Bryant have assisted me when I’ve had pressing issues (I work in a relatively high risk field). I'm became a new patient of Envision. They answered my very first phone call on the first ring. No answering machine with endless menus, no voicemail. They recommended an insurance provider which I ended up going with, and turns out to be the best in the industry. My first visit was remarkable. Very friendly and professional staff. The optometrist actually gave me his business card and direct number! The facility itself is incredible with gorgeous architecture. Communication through email and text was superb. I was fitted with the nicest glasses I've ever owned. Everything was perfect.

My sister gets her eye exam here and told me how amazing they entire office was so I decided to give them a try. They did not disappoint!! Most thorough eye exam I have every had. You won’t find a better staff! Every single person made this the most comfortable experience ever. Cassie was helpful and informed, Kelci made all the right picks when selecting glasses and helped me feel so confident in them, along with Mechal who made sure the fit was perfect and was so helpful! Dr. Folsom is by far the optometrist I’ve ever seen. He walked me through every step, calmed any fears, and was just an overall amazing person!

This is by far the best eye care and vision place around! It has a spa welcoming feel and there is tea. Dr Golson is one of the best!! I have seen him for years now and he keeps a close watch on my macular pigments with his special machines and testing. Over the years I have received more compliments on all my glasses! Truly they are often one of a kind and the staff always helps find the right pair for me. These are some of the glasses I’ve had over the years! Real keepers 😊

First time glasses wearer- after realizing my distance vision was a blur at best- I went to envision and will literally never go anywhere else. Kiss doctor scaries goodbye, I honestly felt like I was at a spa/personalized shopping appointment. The first person I saw was Anna who made me feel so welcomed and oriented, Cassie took me through my exam answering every question I had, Dr. Golson was thorough and gave the most comprehensive care. And the cherry on top was Kelci who hand selected a pair of glasses that were, I am sure, designed for my exact face. This was in April and I still get compliments on my glasses. If you’re debating going here, DO IT.

The store is comfortable and attractive, the staff warm and professional and the frame selection is the best around. I don't have enough words for the quality of care I get at Envision Eyecare. Most especially from Andrea Cantrell who has walked me through becoming a glasses wearer for the first time in my early 50s. Of course the space is gorgeous and the choices are literally art...and endless. But it's the way Andrea and so many other staff show up relationally that takes this experience from merely deeply satisfying to life-enriching. I needed help choosing, learning, discerning something that'd shape my face and support my vision daily. I needed help learning how to care for my glasses (and my eyes) and how to get used to progressives. And, when I goofed up and hurt my glasses--yep, took them off and didn't have them in the case, you all sorted me out with responsive, non-shaming and rapid repair. What an excellent team they are at Envision Eyecare! I was so impressed from the moment I stepped in to the moment I left. I was warmly greeted as soon as I entered, and although both receptionists were busy at the moment, another team member went out of their way to get me settled. Everyone I interacted with was personable, friendly, charismatic, and knowledgeable. Cassie, the ophthalmologist assistant (I'm sorry! I don't think I have that title correct. 😬) was patient, reassuring, and thorough. Dr. Ramos was also very patient and unlike other experiences I've had at other places, when I couldn't read the (seemingly) tiny, blurry letters that I probably should've been able to read, he didn't shame me or make me feel like he didn't believe my vision could really be that bad. 😅 And then superstar Andrea enthusiastically helped me pick out frames and actively participated in my process of narrowing down all my options. She even stayed an hour past closing with me to make sure I settled on the perfect pair for me. I can't wait to go back for my next eye exam! 10 out of 10; would highly recommend.

I purchased my glasses at an online retailer and do not live close to a physical store, so when I needed my glasses adjusted I picked Envision Eyecare and I’m so glad I did! They adjusted my glasses free of charge and were so helpful. I also purchased a product for cleaning my glasses and the woman helping me took time to give me detailed instructions on how to use it. Envision Eyecare deserves 10 stars, but only 5 are available. Traveling out of town, I had an issue with my eye, and I can’t speak highly enough of the entire staff and of my experience. As a walk in, I expected be turned away, for any number of reasons, but I was greeted with the warmest, kindest, most caring experience you could imagine. If I knew the names of those I came in contact with, I would happily thank them individually. Dr. Ramos treated me as if he had cared for me for years, rather meeting me only minutes ago. So my eyes have changed over the years. I chose to work with Dr. Golson at Envision Eyecare to both understand those changes and to make necessary corrections. Two years in we found that I would benefit from prism lenses some of the time. I had no idea how this would work or how it would effect another condition, but went ahead with the plan as I trust his advice. The first prescription was wrong due to testing when my eyes were fatigued and did not work. Dr. Golson and his staff brought me back in, re-tested my eyes and then made new lenses that works like magic. These lenses are amazing, and when I need them, my vision locks in like a laser. It’s really quite extraordinary. I chose this eye clinic because of the relaxed artsy vibe and the doctor’s reputation, and I return for the personal service, professional level of skill, and friendliness of the staff. It doesn’t get any better than that. Oh, and the frames are really great too.

I went to Envision with an incredibly painful eye injury after having gone urgent care. The urgent care center said there was nothing to do for the pain but Dr Bryant immediately treated me with a multi prong approach that relieved my pain and helped my eye to heal more quickly. He is a wonderful practitioner and the entire office staff is warm and caring. I can’t recommend them highly enough!!!

My experience with Envision Eye Care in one word: *INCREDIBLE* :'). As someone who has worn glasses for nearly 26 years and contacts for 22 years; I have visited/been a patient with my fair share of optometry businesses. My experiences have been mixed over time and between a few states/several cities. The staff at Envision Eye Care are absolutely amazing. Mekayla, Cassie, Dr. Ramos, Alex, and Kelci were very kind to offer a generous amount of time and energy to me as a new patient with Envision Eye Care. I felt guided, informed, and genuinely cared for with every step and each point of contact. It was such a smooth, streamlined process that I really, really appreciate and had not experienced to this extent before today. The exam/contact fitting was the most comprehensive that I have *ever* experienced (in 26 years!). The cost of everything from exam to frames to lenses, etc., etc. is more than reasonable and much less than I anticipated. Also, they take BCBS; some local providers have changed this as of 1/2022. Dr. Ramos, Cassie, and Kelci are really knowledgeable in their respective positions at Envision Eye Care. The staff seems to work really well together as a collective, I felt a lot of synergistic energy. I don't want to leave anyone out(!) in my review; every staff member gave me an uplifting vibe. These three individuals were the staff that worked with me the most. Envision Eye Care has more than earned my business for a lifetime (as long as I'm in the 828). I would (and will) recommend them to anyone. My experience was *so* top notch that I felt compelled to write this review immediately after my appointment. Thank you, Envision Eye Care. Y'all are beyond amazing, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. :')

What an amazing experience! I can't say enough wonderful things about my visits. From the eye-exam, to selecting my glasses (first time eye-glass wearer), to coming back to get some UVA/UVB/HEV blocking sunglasses...everyone is so kind and professional. I even went back to pick out some awesome sunglasses (and brought my husband with me to also pick out a pair). I’ve been going to Envision for at least 5 years. I find the staff to be professional, helpful, thorough, courteous, and customer oriented. I had a particularly excellent interaction with Andrea. She saw I wasn’t pleased with a purchase due to insurance restrictions. They did their best to correct the situation within the constraints of coverage. After several weeks of trying to work out the situation, Andrea took it upon herself to use the lenses that made sense and totally recreated the prescription and sunglasses clips that went with them at no additional cost to me. They came out perfect! This is where you want to get your frames. I've worn glasses most of my life. Obviously I've been through a lot of optics. There are plenty of so-so frame selections. This is not those places. I was impressed by their selection of IC! Berlin. Their frames have earned a special place in my heart (and my wardrobe) because they can be disassembled and reassembled completely with no tools. These frames (and other tool free frames) are exceedingly difficult to find, at in my experience.

As soon as I entered, I realized this was not your average eye care facility. I received personal attention immediately. I was fortunate to work with Stephanie, who was terrific. Envision is the best optometrist office in town for so many reasons!! I've been going there for years because they have the most interesting glasses selection and the folks are so nice. But today I had the most above-and-beyond experience there! Long story short- they're the nicest people in the world, they're understanding about disability and mental health issues, and they're actively queer friendly (not just lip service or a pride month thing). Shoutout to Dyana for facilitating the best eye doctor visit I've ever had! If you want the long story, read on. When I updated my paperwork the day before, I included that I prefer they/them pronouns now, but wasn't really expecting any change. But during eye exam, Dr. Bryant was kind and patient as always, and he also made sure to use the correct pronouns without ever making a big deal out of it! I didn't even have to tell anyone directly that I'm trans! That may not seem like a huge deal, but I've never had a doctor's office get my pronouns right with no fuss. It's incredibly considerate and respectful. When I got to the optical specialist, I had to admit that last time I was there I was having a manic response as a side effect of a new medicine. I had bought 3 pairs of glasses: my favorite every day pair that I love, a wild gold pair that I took home and never wore because they aren't my style, and a pair of sunglasses that I left there and never picked up for *three years* because I was manic and then so embarrassed. Dyana was super empathetic about it, and Christine and Stephanie figured everything out for me. First, they credited me for the gold frames (three years later!) because they understood that mental health stuff can be wild. THEN they managed to find the sunglasses tucked away somewhere because Stephanie didn't feel right about not saving them (so kind!). When they brought them out, Dyana asked if I liked them still and encouraged me to be honest. I admitted that I probably wouldn't wear them because they were not the right gender or style for me, so they credited me for those too!!! Even though I kept telling them that I understood if they couldn't do anything! I still can't believe it. Y'all, these folks are the best. If you're not absolutely wild about your optometrists, switch to them.

I had a very positive experience with Envision Eyecare. I have had many eye exams and been treated by many different eyecare providers, having moved around a lot. This was among the best experiences I've had. I made an appointment because I was experiencing flashes of light and eye spots/floaters and was concerned about possible retina detachment. The staff and Dr. Bryant were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean and it had welcoming and comfortable spaces and decor. I feel I got very thorough, expert care and diagnosis, and Dr. Bryant did a great job explaining what was going on to me. I also felt he and the staff took their time with me and listened. When I've gone to other eye and medical appointments, I usually have felt like I'm being rushed through, and sometimes not listened to. I would highly recommend Dr. Bryant and Envision Eyecare. I'm glad to have found them since moving back to Asheville.

The whole experience at Envision Eyecare was different than any I have had in my life. My typical experience has been: Eye exam followed by browsing the optical floor looking for glasses I liked (typically the samo samo frame with possibly a different color). I was very surprised when an optical assistant appeared in my examining room even before being released and who then subsequently escorted me to the floor to assist in the frame search. She assisted me while I looked over the frames in the store but she also picked out several suggestions of her own for me to try. Here is my strong advice: LET THEM GIVE YOU THEIR SUGGESTIONS!! I would NEVER have picked out the frames she selected for me to try but omg I LOVE them so much more than any frames I have ever had! It’s like she intuitively knew the limits of my comfort zone while at the same time, seemed keenly aware of what would look best on me. When my glasses came in they inspect everything (the correct prescription, the frame, the lens fit, everything). I get so many compliments on my glasses! The prescription is perfect, the sweet spot in my progressives, also perfect with a significant viewing range. Honestly, I was nervous while waiting for them to be made because I was afraid I wouldn’t like them after all but as soon as I got them my fears were gone. A lot of reviews talked about the cost and I will admit that they were a little higher than I’ve paid in the past. But I will never hesitate to use them again because the service you receive from this company is far superior to anything else I have ever gotten from any other place. In fact I like them so much I went back for a spare pair which I love equally as much. Hands down you will not be disappointed. (And if something isn’t right, they spare little to make sure you’re happy.) I can count on one hand the reviews I have left in my life. This is one I wanted to be sure got in because they deserve unlimited kudos. They really are the best. Thank you to the entire staff at Envision for making my experience an awesome one (AND for my awesome glasses and sunglasses!) I’ll definitely be back.

There is something about the atmosphere and people at Envision Eyecare that have made the stressful ordeal of going to the eye doctor way easier than any other office I've been to before. A few weeks ago I accidentally broke my frames, and called Envision to see if they could fit me in ASAP. They scheduled me in for the next day, and as soon as I hung up the phone, they immediately called me back to say there was a cancellation the day of and had a spot open for me! Thank you! From that, my experience was superb. The assistant was patient and conversational and answered my questions, and Dr. Bryant helped me with the exam- he is by far the nicest eye doctor I've had. I have been coming to Envision Eye Care for almost 3 years and it has always been a pleasant experience. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed by the amazing front desk staff but also the beautiful and homey environment. The doctors here are amazing and easy to talk with. I have been blessed to have Doctor Bryant these past years, he is kind, easy to talk to, and extremely informative. I feel bad saying he is a bit of a nerd when it comes to your eye health, but isn’t that what we want? It made me realize about how much he actually cares about his patients eye health and not just getting you in and out. Dr. Bryant always remembers me and without looking at a chart always ask how I am doing with a condition I have that is concerning with my eye health. The frames here are not the prices you will see at Walmart or even lens crafters, but I truly believe “you get what you pay for”. I am difficult when it comes to frames, and whomever I work with always takes the extra time to ensure I leave satisfied. Stephanie is amazing and will bring 20 frames that she feels will look great on me. Narrowing it down we are able to find the right fit for my face and my needs. The entire staff is amazing, the establishment is clean and taking all the proper COVID protocols and the doctors are great, friendly and interactive in the practice. I’ve been coming here for years, and I’m really happy with the care (and my glasses!). I used to go to Tunnel Vision—years ago—and I often felt frustrated with their customer service, wait times, etc. Most of the staff at Envision has been there for a super long time—it doesn’t seem like they have much turnover, which is always a good sign. I do feel like it’s a bit pricey, and like they try to upsell a lot of extras… but as someone who’s been in glasses since childhood, I do know how important it is to take good care of your eyes. Just know that you can find many of the products they sell at lower prices online. Their contact lens program is amazing btw. Also, they have a new line of super affordable frames! If you have vision insurance you can get a great pair of glasses for a couple hundred dollars, even if you are blind like me and also get some bells & whistles like blue blockers and transitions. Definitely recommend.

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. Liz Moore appeared like a fairy godmother for spectacles. It was 6pm and I was weary and fair warning: I am picky. Most glasses frames I either loathe or am "meh" about. I'd been to several places. Liz got it immediately and did this amazing thing: she brought over a box of chosen frames that she opened and we went through them without it feeling overwhelming, and all the design "noise" was eradicated. She is perceptive, smart, and fun. Really knows her stuff. Everyone else there was amazing as well - Christine is lovely. The other important thing was that I have a complex prescription and good glasses are, quite simply, an investment. They worked with me on payment and I had some time to pay the balance, which I really appreciated. So the customer service is the PERFECT blend of attentive but not all-over-you-invasive, the frames and payment options are customer-focused, and the environment (which matters a lot to me) was lovely, lighting was AWESOME. Basically, this place is heaven for the glasses shopping-weary, which is how I came to them. I can be a difficult patient. I'm very curious and always ask too many questions. The team here is incredible! Dr. Golson is the best optometrist I've ever encountered. Im very picky with Dr.s as the difference between an OK Dr. and an exceptional one is magnitudes apart. I find the exceptional one's difficult to find. He takes time to explain to me the nuances of my prescription, and helped me to understand the options (and their tradeoffs) when trying to turn that difficult prescription into contacts. Is It's clear that you're getting a full eye health examination along with your vision adjustment. Christine was amazing and helped me pick out glasses that I loved more than I would have guessed. They were also cheaper than I was expecting too! She was clear and upfront about pricing, while having an eye for style that I desperately needed. Never felt rushed or pushed into any purchases. Several months ago I lost my glasses. I decided to go to Envision Eye Care on Charlotte Street to get replace since several people had recommended them. I instantly liked my new glasses but it took about a month before I realized I forgot I was wearing them and didn't keep taking them off and putting them who knows where, like I did the other pair. Given the nature of my complaint, Envision took me in on short notice, and the exam resulted in a referral to a local eye surgeon for laser treatment the next morning. The surgeon said that 90% of eye doctors would have missed the retinal tear that Dr. Bryant of Envision Eyecare spotted; and had Dr. B missed it, the condition could have progressed to a far more serious condition. This speaks highly of the level of skill at Envision Eyecare! The staff was very professional and friendly as well, made me feel most welcome, never had to wait long, etc. I'd give 'em 6 out of 5 stars if I could.

My experience at Envision EyeCare has been nothing less than absolutely phenomenal. I have gotten to meet a majority of the staff as I went on a bit of a quest to get the proper prescription in my glasses. I received my initial prescription from another office, but found their frame selection to be different from my own personal style. I ended up venturing into their sister store Framed before it closed down due to the building it occupied being sold. Denine and Allie helped me initially, guiding me on my frame selection and helping me special order a pair of SALT frames to try out. They kindly sent them to Envision for me to have them filled as I was deciding between pairs. Once I arrived at Envision, I knew I was in great hands. Everyone was so friendly, cheering me on to try something a little bit out of my comfort zone that still suited me perfectly. I finally decided on my frames and it was time to fill the prescription for my lenses! The first time, the prism from the other office’s prescription were too intense, so they removed them and just had the base prescription filled. When that ended up being not quite right, Christine recommended I get a refraction. Dr. Bryant is a prescription wizard and had me seeing a clear 20/20 by the end of the appointment. So I had my lenses refilled with the new prescription done at the Envision Office. It is like night and day. I can see clearly now, the blur is gone! They were so kind and helpful and went above and beyond to correct the inaccurate prescription that was given to me by the other office. They re-lensed my frames twice at no additional cost to me. Just incredible! (They do great adjustments, too!) Christine also worked out a payment plan to fit my budget. Christine, Stephanie, Allie, Denine, Jen, Nadia, Dr. B, and Dr. G all GENUINELY care about their patients. They want to make sure you can see perfectly and that you are jubilant when you walk out of their office with your sweet and stylish new frames! I cannot thank the staff at Envision EyeCare enough. When I moved to Asheville several years ago, one of my key priorities was to find medical care that rivaled what I was accustomed to in Boston MA. The standard had been set high in Massachusetts and I was a bit dubious that I could find the same quality of service here in Asheville. Of particular concern to me was my eye care. As a designer and visual problem solver, my ability to see well is directly connected to who I am, what I do, and to the income that I produce. Proper eye care is doubly important to me as I also have a genetic predisposition to glaucoma. Fortunately, a trusted friend recommended that I check out Envision Eye care on Charlotte St. That was over six years ago. Since then, I have experienced what I believe to be the best eye care possible from Dr Larry Golson, his associates and staff. Each member of his team is well trained, personable, and engaging. Recently I had an issue with a particular kind of lens that was specified for a new pair of glasses. For some reason my eyes did not adjust well to the change. While visiting from out of town, I needed a replacement nose pad because one had gone missing. This place was closest to my b&b, plus had very good reviews. I was greeted on entering, as were 2 or 3 others who came in while I was there. Staff was very attentive to everyone. When I arrived, I entered a lovely office - the nicest office I'd been in. I am an optician living in South Carolina, but my mother and brother live in Asheville. I have had two outstanding experiences with Envision, through them. Although my mother generally gets her eyeglasses from my practice, she had an emergency and needed some optical assistance right away. I called Envision and asked them if they would be able to perform the specific assistance she needed, and they did not hesitate. When she went in to see them, she raved about how friendly they were, helping her out with no questions asked, even though she obviously was not their patient. She liked the experience so much, she has since gone back to purchase glasses there, even though as a family member I can get her special deals at my practice. When my brother called me one day in a panic because he had over worn his two week contacts and was experiencing severe pain, and my OD (our own aunt!) was unable to call him in medication without seeing him, I immediately recommended Envision. Dr. Golson was able to work him in that day, and diagnosed his corneal ulcer. He even called and asked to speak to my OD to explain his findings, as she was the only OD my brother had ever seen. I worked directly with his staff to make sure Dr. Golson had his records, and they sent over a report when they were done. I have worked in optical for 9 years, and was incredibly impressed at the amount of customer service and care my family received.
