What a fantastic practice this is. Friendly, professional and expertly trained staff. A top notch group of doctors to handle any eye care issue. Dr Roger Newsom has been my doctor for better than 20 years now. I trust him implicitly. I highly recommend him or any of the doctors to give you expert care.

I was impressed with the overall flow of the office staff. There was little wait time and every employee that I interacted with was professional yet personable. I felt completely comfortable with Dr. Newsom and trusted his guidance and skill. I am 10 days out from cataract surgery of my right eye and it could not have gone better. A big shout out to Suzanne, Dr. Newsom’s surgical coordinator, who went above and beyond to help get me through some unforeseen obstacles. Jamie, in the Norfolk office, also made such a difference when I encountered another issue. I highly recommend Dr. Newsom and his team at Tidewater Eye Centers/CVP Physicians.

Everyone from the front desk through my basic eye exam to seeing Dr Newsom, greeted me with a smile. Dr Newsome listen to my request and addressed my concern and provided me with some sample drops. He wanted me to explore the sample before providing a prescription and spending any money unnecessarily. Highly recommend their office!

Dr. Newsom and his staff at Tidewater Eye are very professional and very efficient. Each staff member and Dr. Newsome explain clearly and concisely what they are doing and why they are doing it. In addition, Dr. Newsom is a very skilled surgeon! He removed my Cataracs and raised my eyelids 8 years ago and restored my vision. I now see better than when I was in high school. That was 65 years ago! Miraculous!

I had been having trouble with my eyes for several years. I had seen an ophthalmologist in Roanoke and was on a 3 month return visit schedule saying they were watching for glaucoma. I had seen one since moving to Suffolk that also missed the diagnosis. I visited Dr Newsom last year, he removed the cataracts in both eye and I see almost perfectly. The clarity of his explanations, his examinations and the surgical procedures he performed are unsurpassed. I highly recommend him
