As a new patient, came in for my annual eye exam. They are efficient, the doctor asked all my questions, and I didn’t have any issues. I’m a pretty simple case, near sighted, and didn’t need any glasses or changes to my contact lens prescription. If you know what you want and just need to renew your prescriptions, had a great experience.

First impressions were not great. The person who checked me in, greeted their coworker with “hey cripple” while the microphone was on and everyone could hear. Then other staff in the eye glasses area were loudly arguing over politics and subject matter that shouldn’t be a topic at work. Lastly, I was scheduled for a 10:30 appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. I waited until almost 11 before I was finally seen. Don’t schedule appointments and make your patients wait 30 minutes.

I was experiencing flashes in my eye, and ultimately developed a small tear in my retina. The tear was immediately successfully treated after diagnosis and they have been very responsive in the aftermath. I experienced additional flashes afterward and was seen by the first available doctor that morning. Very comforting, answered all my questions.

Ample parking is available. They moved me through my appointment efficiently. One oddity is how the check in desk is not quite big enough and some patients are pulled into an area past the doors leading to the examination rooms. But it is no big deal, just some confusing traffic flow. All the staff were extremely friendly!

I was terrified coming in to have my eyes checked after having uncontrolled diabetes for some time. I was super grateful to see a familiar face checking me in. I once worked with him before for many years. I felt like the assistant was thorough and kind. The Dr. did spend time talking with me about my risks and answered my questions as well. He found no damage and I am on the right track. My eyes had a small prescription that could be covered with little reader glasses (very cost effective). I did not feel like they tried to get me into glasses that I really didn’t need! Thank you-

I love the doctor 😍 for how he was able to help me take a lot of my stress away because the ingrown eye lashes in my left upper eye lid were so frustrating sometimes I had to work on plunking them out for weeks and I was having this problem for at least 30 years. What a miracle. And I What to thank Brittany for all of her hard work in scheduling everything for the surgery, thank you for that reassuring phone call I was still at the hospital with my wife waiting for the return trip home. That was especially sweet, and a great experience with all of the staff, I really appreciate everyone you are assume!!!!!!!!

Very attentive and they worked quickly. They always do a great job. Masks are an issue. None of the customers were wearing N95s, nor many of the staff that I could tell. The masks that were being worn were both not worn correctly and merely, as CNN puts it, facial decorations. Wearing these masks are not preventing the spread of the very contagious omicron.

We could not be more pleased with this incredibly professionally run facility. My wife Madeleine and I have been patients there for at least two years. Both Glaucoma and vision problems requiring surgery have been successfully handled by Dr. McGlynn. The staff is always professional, while maintaining a pleasant and friendly attitude. Dr Holland and his tech were absolutely amazing. Both were very knowledgeable. My experience with the contact department was not nearly as good. Impossible to reach by phone and after leaving 2 messages my calls were not returned for nearly two weeks. The lady we saw acted put out that we brought new insurance with us. For the fitting fee we paid she really did nothing. My daughter had to watch YouTube videos when she got home to figure out how to take the contacts out. Eye dr 5 starts. Contact department 0

Excellent COVID precautions starting with the greeting at the door and ending with a thorough room cleaning. Everyone I met was friendly and courteous. The doctor listened and answered questions and did not rush. He treated my problem that same day which was much appreciated as it was an unscheduled urgent matter.

Eyehealth Northwest is just wonderfull. Dr Chung is very polite, professional and let's not forget punctual. Tammi in the contact department has a wealth of information and insight. Lets not forget Alieena who had to deal with me picking out frames and making awful small talk. My only regret is that I didn't catch the receptionists name to thank them as well because I was checked in and seated so quickly.

The doctor that my daughter sees is lovely. However this time around we waited 40 minutes in the waiting room for the appointment. During covid I have no interest in staying in an enclosed room with a bunch of strangers for that long. Of course there were people coughing and someone with the mask below the nose. They need to improve their process and communication around wait times.

I have had cataract surgery in both eyes over the course of two years through EyeHealth Northwest at the Ambulatory Surgery Center located at Providence Portland Medical Center. Hands down, I wouldn't have had the procedures done anywhere else. My surgeon, Dr. Jordon Lubahn, explained everything simply and thoroughly as to what I could expect. The team of nurses and the anesthesiologist were genuinely caring and concerned about my welfare. I'd like to especially point out one nurse (Jonathan) who initially helped me at intake and was quick with a joke and smile. He sure had a way of eliminating any anxiety I may have had prior to surgery.

I could give a five star if I were not hard of hearing. People a very nice here but I cannot understand the spoken word without seeing the complete full face. Unfortunately they are not able to accommodate this by wearing a clear face shield and lowering or removing the soldi face covering. There are also completely transparent clear face coverings but some people say that they cant breath with them. My doctor wears one and doesn't seem to have any problems...granted the cloth or paper type are more comfortable. I went to the Laser clinic yesterday and had real problem because of my hearing problem and their being unable to accommodate me. Got into the room to have the laser done and had gotten scheduled with the wrong doctor, by then I canceled all further appointments at the EyeHealth til the face coverings are not longer needed of until accommodations mentioned above can be made. options I give above.

Both my son and I had that had appointments here for our initial exam to establish care as new patients. I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the grounds and the building, which are kept clean and maintained. Within seconds, we were greeted by the medical receptionist, who was very courteous, and were checked in promptly. We were not seated more than 5 or 10 minutes when called for our exams. The optometry assistant brought us back to the exam room and she explained every step of the appointment to us (eye drops to dilate our eyes, etc.) After a very short wait, Dr. Holland arrived. He walked in with a friendly smile and shook our hands. He helped us both feel at ease. He has a good bedside manner and listened to our concerns. He provided quality care and I highly recommend him if you are looking for an ethical, professional, and caring ophthalmologist.

Not quite sure what I think at this point> Made an appointment for my husband because his previous doctor retired so he had to see someone new and we decided this location was easier to get to so why not try it. He was scheduled with Dr. McGlynn. I took my husband and went in with him since he's hard of hearing and will nod even though he doesn't hear everything so I wanted to know what was going on. The nurse/ophthalmologist that did his eye exam was very nice and seemed efficient. No problems with her. Dr. McGlynn was nice and polite but seemed to do his exam quite quickly. My husband has a bump on his eye lid and it's recently gotten bigger and has been bothering him a lot. Dr. McGlynn looked at is (although my husband said it seemed like he had a hard time looking under the eye lid) and said it was a mole and wasn't going through to the eye so to use moisturizing drops and warm compresses to relieve the irritation. That was two days ago. Today his eye was red and hurting bad so I called the office. I left a message with Nadia (sp?) and did receive a call back from her within the two hours that was stated on her voice mail. She was very polite and professional. I told her what was going on and stated he had been using OTC eye moisturizer and compresses but his eye was bothering him even more and asked if there might be prescription drops that might help better than the over the counter ones. She asked me if he was doing the eye lid (I've forgotten the word she used but want to say) scraping or something similar but that could be the wrong terminology she used and using the vitamin E. I told her we were never told anything about either of those by Dr. McGlynn and didn't receive any paperwork when we left stating anything about any aftercare so had only been doing what he said (the moisturizer and compresses). She said she would message Dr. McGlynn and/or his assistant and have one of them call me back asap. This was at just before 2pm that I spoke with Nadia and I didn't hear anything back from anyone the rest of the day. While I do appreciate Nadia helping me schedule the appointment for my husband with the eye lid specialist, I'm not real thrilled that it was Friday afternoon, my first call was Friday morning (yes, late morning, but still morning) and I didn't receive a call back from the doctor or his assistant so my husband has to deal with this pain all weekend when it, quite possibly, could have been avoided with a prescription that included a small amount of numbing agent or something similar to at least get him through until his appointment with the eye lid specialist next Thursday (six days). So the jury is still out on Dr. McGlynn in my opinion. My husband, however, is already talking about possibly wanting to see someone different but did say he would wait until after his March glaucoma appointment for testing with Dr. McGlynn before he decides for sure.

Just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Katrice (sp?) at the optical side of the southeast location. While waiting for my appointment yesterday, I overheard a gentleman behind me who was quite irate with a public utility service; speaking on the phone with their help desk to complain. He was in the clinic to have his lens and frame adjusted. Katrice was very patient and caring; immediately took care of what he needed; and fixed his glasses. Even when the client had many questions afterwards, she made sure his needs were met. Newbies at customer service should learn from Katrice and the way she handled her client. Kudos!

Eyehealth NW has an office both on the West and East sides of Portland, and I absolutely prefer the office East of the Willamette. The West side office is really cramped, and believe me you feel it in the squishing up against walls and tables you have to do whenever you pass another patient or staff member in the halls. The West office is so much roomier the better to accommodate for the truly impressive number of patients both offices see on a daily basis. I mean this place is busy! They do have friendly, yet professional staff, and the doctors are experienced and courteous and certainly not without their share of eccentricity - lol. Before she passed, I used to take my Mom in for appointments, and she had both her cataract surgeries performed by these guys. I remember her physician was kind of old school - a little stiff and formal while still very respectful of her. Mine is definitely more new school with a bit of the laconic cowboy about him... really laid back but genuinely knowledgeable - so thorough and articulate the man is. You got problems with your eyes? Then this is where you want to go.

When they made the appt (with the referral in their hands) for me they made it with a non cornea specialist so now i have to wait another month to see the right Dr. Took me 3 weeks to get in to the first one.

Just a pre surgery check before cataract surgery next week. Very nice. On December 28, 2020 I had a follow-up visit at the 108th and Stark office from last month when I was told the lenses were still okay but needed a YAG laser cleaning. I was also told I have early stage glaucoma and to start taking eye drops. One of the staff, Brittany, was extremely helpful and nice. She even got me a Diet Coke while at her lunch break. 5 star kudos to her.

Kemp was easy to talk to and really showed he cared and made sure I got an appointment with specialist right away to confirm blood clot issue. What a great team!!!!!

I was very happy to meet Dr. Lubhan for the first time. I appreciated his holistic approach and friendly conversation as part of the exam process. The one thing that was slightly disconcerting was that the tech said my pressures were on the high side. I felt like I should be rather concerned. However, when I asked the ophthalmologist about my pressures, he said they were "great!" If I had forgotten to ask him, I'd still be worrying...All in all, an excellent visit.

Before my appointment, I spoke on the phone with Aimee who was very helpful in explaining the options for laser vision correction. After some testing and consultations with Dr. Kim I found out I was eligible for Lasik and everyone helped me to get my procedure scheduled quickly. The procedure itself was quick and easy. Dr. Kim took excellent care of me during my follow-up visits and after 10 days my vision had already improved to 20/15! I had my vision corrected using Lasik by Dr. Kemp at EyeHealth NW. My vision is great and the service I recieved was great as well. I appreciated the screening process to ensure I was a good candidate for the procedure and the full explanation of the procedure and what to expect. I was treated well by all the staff from the folks greeting you at the clinic, to Amy (wrong spelling) who facilitated the whole process to the various clinitians testing my eyes before and after to Dr. Kemp who performed the surgery. It went exactly how he described, any anxiety about it was minimized, there was very little discomfort and most of all my vision is great.

I've had great service at Eye Health Northwest. When my longtime opthamologist's physicians group was not included in my vision plan for LASIK and I wanted to explore the possibility of permanently correcting my eyesight, I asked that doctor for a referral within the plan and he recommended Dr. Saulson at EHNW. While I was generally a good candidate for LASIK, Dr. Saulson never pushed it. In fact, he recommended waiting because at my age (mid 40s) I was at a point where I would start needing help for reading and LASIK to correct distance vision would take some options off the table and possibly hasten the need for lenses for reading. I considered all that but eventually decided to have LASIK correction on both eyes and haven't regretted it at all. It's been 1.5 years since my surgery and I have better than 20/20 vision still don't need reading glasses (but I know it's coming). Aimee Russell, the staff and Dr. Saulson were very good at explaining the whole process and alleviating stress about the procedure. The post-procedure care was very good, with the doctor calling personally late afternoon/early evening on the day of my surgery to see how I was doing. The checkups over the next weeks/months made sure that everything was healing as expected. The waiting room for all the doctors was always busy but I never waited more than 30 minutes and once I was brought back to the room there was usually just a wait of 10 minutes or so. Pretty average or on the better side of average based on my experience with eye doctors. I would recommend Dr. Saulson for LASIK to anyone considering it.

I have been a patient at Eye Health Northwest since the early 1980's. Originally I was a very near-sighted contact lens wearer with a strong astigmatism prescription. When I reached my mid-forties my eyes began to dry a bit and contact lenses became more uncomfortable to wear. I was faced with getting my first pair of bifocal glasses. With my strong prescription I was looking at a good chunk of money going out of my pocket. It was suggested that I would be a good candidate to check into Lasik surgery. I was nervous but the staff there was able to answer my questions. It was recommended that I see Dr. Kemp since he had more experience than some of the other doctors. His professional treatment put me more at ease about the procedure. I chose to have my dominant eye corrected for distance and my non-dominant eye left slightly near-sighted for reading. This worked perfectly for me and the results speak for themselves. It has been twelve years since my surgery and my distance vision is 20/15 and my reading vision is also 20/15. My eyes remain completely healthy with no signs of cataracts or other problems. It is still amazing to me that I was able to go from being a person that began wearing glasses at age five to someone that has needed no correction for the past 12 years. Dr. Kemp has performed the PRK surgery on my son and Lasik on my two daughters. They have all had similar results. Sight is very precious and I am very lucky to have found Dr. Kemp and the staff at EyeHealth Northwest.

I would give five stars to the doctors who do the exams here. They write very accurate prescriptions. But whatever you do, DO NOT get your contact lenses or eyeglasses made by this company. You may never get your hands on them. Order from Costco instead. The staff was not interested in the story, but here is the sad tale, in case you really want to know. Contacts needed for work ordered on the 23rd of 1 month. The 23rd of another month arrives; there has been no phone call. Contact lens department message says they cannot reliably return calls. 60 Mile round trip drive to the office, in person, to inquire. Was told only ONE person works in the contact lens department, and that person is not in. The following week, receive a phone call, from the only phone number they make public. Told that the contacts ARE in the office I drove to. Another 60 Mile round trip drive to that office. No, the contacts are not in that office. Told to keep driving. 😡 I make it a habit not to lose my temper with people trying to do their jobs. I finally spoke in a loud voice. A phone call was made. To a number that they keep private. Contacts located! More driving required. And they cost almost twice what they cost at Costco. If you have insurance, use your benefit at Costco. It will go twice as far.

I am so happy and relieved to be a patient here. I have a regular yearly check up, but they are very good at responding to crises". I recently got an eye infection and they responded so quickly in spite of a filled waiting room. They quickly got me in, completed an exam and called in a prescription that was at the pharmacy of my choice, ready when I got there. The infection was horrid looking and painful, but it was cleared up quickly with the antibiotics within a week. My Dr. was not there that day I called, but another ophthalmologist saw me who was excellent.
