Hard to give a full review that is easy to rate. Dr Graff is excellent and extremely informative He is a great Dr. For the bad part wait times can be extreme (yea he is a surgeon but things can be done to target when you can get in. Heck they have pagers for restaurants that have a big wait so I am sure something could be done to get you into a smaller wait window. It is a crowded office that is like you are part of a cattle call. It is almost impossible to talk to someone on the phone and the Patient Portal is slow without much data. You send a message through the portal since you can't get someone on the phone and so far after 24hrs no response. So follow up is near nill. Hopefully you remember everything to ask when you are there

We were referred to this practice for an eye exam for my adult daughter who has a developmental disability. We had a terrible experience at another national chain (NWV) The staff at this clinic from the front desk all the way through to checking out were professional and accommodating to my daughters needs and very efficient. They were very busy but we felt everything moved along very well. Dr La was wonderful and knowledgeable to conditions specific to the disability. Thank you very much!

I felt like a number. Nothing personal about this place. Doctor spoke as if I was hard of hearing. Never asked if I was and spoke normally to staff. I really liked the gal that took my money (friendliest person there), but why did I have to pay to get an eye glass prescription (?). Then it didn't print so she said she would email it to me. When? I'm still waiting the next day. All in all, not impressed. Thanks for asking.

So far my experience as the daughter of a patient getting ready for eye surgery isn't great because I feel the patient is being taken advantage of with so many appointments before the surgery that will allow them to see again asking for copays each time and pushing above and beyond procedures that the insurance will cover twice now. The other day he was sold a little velcro bag with some eye drops and what appeared to be an eye shield and dark blinds for the eyes after the surgery for $40.00!!! Ridiculous pricing first of all and items we could have gotten for a much cheaper price. I've read good things about the surgeon and the surgery is finally semi soon otherwise I'd pull my parent out of this money hungry place right away. If they ask for more money for co-payment because they want to basically try to sell more items I'm getting involved!

The office personnel were not friendly or helpful. While I was pleased with the outcome of the cataract surgery, I was not pleased with the cumbersome and unfriendly clerical staff, the waiting areas, the dirty restrooms and the unhelpful explanations of my questions. It is very difficult to understand a person with whom you have not visited with prior to negotiating understanding or hearing the words they speak through a mask. One clerical staff person was busy looking at her very long new valentine nails and trying to write with them. She never made eye contact or had time for my questions and concerns. The surgery staff involved with the pre and post operations were very kind, considerate and helpful. Dr. Amacher was most kind and instilled confidence in the successful outcome of the procedure.

I was very disappointed in this facility. I was concerned about being on time on correct date so I called 3 days prior to verify my appointment time being 10am as it had been since January. When I arrived I was told the appointment was for 3pm !! Which meant having to drive home and back later in afternoon which I never would have agreed to. I am absolutely disgusted with this happening especially because I had tried to make sure everything was all set for the appointment. Afternoon apt was OK but also don't like the extra appointment for counseling and pricing on a separate day which means another lost day at work BS....

The appointment went well. Was taken back with 10 minutes of arrival. Everyone had a job and they were performed well. As soon as eyes were slightly dilated, I was put in another room and Dr. Anderson arrived. He checked what he needed. Discussed my macular degeneration and what he found in the exam. Was efficient and knowledgeable. I will go back to him again.

Walked in to the lobby was full of patients waiting for their turn. I was in the waiting room for 30 to 45 minutes longer than my actual appointment time before I got to go in. Good thing that they enforce everyone to wear face mask while they're waiting and all the way until I got out of the building. Despite the long wait in the lobby, everything went smoothly. The assistant and the dr. were very good, took extra time to explain to me of my conditions. It was a relief when I walked out. The front desk staffs were not very friendly , but they did their job.

Being a new to the area I got lost and was late for my appointment. They still honored my appointment and I was escorted to the examining room right away. The ladies that helped me with exams and filling out my information were very helpful and truly caring. When I met Dr. Anderson he was pleasant and very helpful and explained things to me that were a concern. I am very happy to go back and have told my husband that he can now make an appointment with this eye care clinic. 5 stars for sure. Clean and relaxing atmosphere especially at this time.

Dr Andersen and Dr Perkins and Dr Graff, deserve the highest praise. They are patient, knowledgeable and great bedside manners. They were willing to answer any questions that I had throughout the process. I had cataract surgery on both eyes. While the results are not as stellar as I expected, I realize that other medical conditions. made my outcome different than others. I appreciate their willingness to talk it through with me and set a realistic expectations. I would entrust these doctors with my eye care again. The other feedback I have is on the phone services and getting an appointment and being willing to wait. If you’re patient and willing to give them the time you will be surprised and well taken care of however it can be quite a wait on their busy days and that’s it

I have to admit it is frustrating having to wait several weeks sometimes even a month when you are having an eye issue. But people need to remember that communication is key. Talk to the staff if the issue progress. If you are in pain do not wait. Call back.. I have always had great, helpful friendly service from all front, back and call staff. Thanks peeps. Your doing a great job keep it up. More offices should run like yours. Although you my no be seen as soon as you would like for certain issues the have doctors on call 24/7 if an emergency pops up and the also have someone how will triage any serious problems you are having and get you in quickly. So communicating with the office and keeping them up dated with any changes is key. Dr. Anderson and the entire staff at BDP have kept my eyes very healthy and me happy.

Not my first time to have procedure done at this facility. They need to provide more interaction with patients that are having surgery. No one ever called me to tell me what time surgery was, I had to call twice to find out. Did not appreciate that. No instructions I just showed up. Doctors need to follow up with you after procedure. . You should stay with one Dr. Not be seen by several.

The staff were all kind and efficient. The office was clean and they were taking all necessary precautions to keep their staff and patients safe. Between Dr Berlin and Dr Asota they are the two best eye doctors I've ever seen. Always professional always attentive to your needs. They always mention if you have any issues please call out to them directly. This is a great place to have your eyes looked at as well as having cataract surgery as I had both new implants put in my eyes 6 months ago and I have perfect vision now.

I really like both doctors that I see but staff is sometimes abrupt with me. I waited 50 minutes after my appointment time and that was way too long. One staff member insisted I had diabetes and I do not. It obviously was a mistake but she pressured me for A1C and I do not take the blood sugar as I do not have diabetes. The worst was they charged me $52.00 to get a copy of my prescription. My records are mine and one simply photocopy is not worth $52.00! I am appalled and disgruntled. I have an appointment with retinologist in September but may be looking at changing eye clinics. It just doesn’t balance out to good patient care!

Wonderful experience, had a potentially serious issue and I was new to the area and a new client. They were able to squeeze me in the next day. My appointment was timed accurately and I did not have to wait long. I was given a thorough exam and the results were immediate. While the Dr and staff were quite friendly and competent I have one complaint. I waited 2 months for an appt with a opthalmologist. The nice young Dr was an optometrist. I could have had an appt more quickly with an optometrist elsewhere. In fact I did. But kept this appt to check out possible diseases of the eye. Having headaches for over 2 months. I got no answers. Did not do visual field. And made another appt for that.

Have had two cataract surgeries with lenses implants, eye exams and retina speciality exams. I visit the Mesa office. It’s a very busy place. Front desk people try to make you feel welcome, but it’s a very busy place. I would tell you who my favorite vision specialists are, but quite frankly, I have been very pleased with all of them. This is still my choice for all vision related treatment. This is based on results, prices, and confidence in their ability to provide the best treatment for my needs.

The waiting room was way to crowded. A lot of older people. I’m sure it was hard for them. Some with disabilities. Like myself. I stood in line at first which seemed like ages. But since I did my paperwork ahead of time online I was called back right away. Some people didn’t and we’re using laptops. Which probably was hard for some. The woman I saw at first seemed impatient and kept yawning. She apologized. But if I didn’t do things the way she asked she’d get snappy. Rude mostly. She should appreciate her job more. I felt she had a hard day. But just not professional. At a place I feel should be. The women after that were nicer and the woman after that. The doctor,Dr.Anderson was very nice. He explained what he was doing from one thing to the next. After he was done he was courteous. But I left without a prescription for glasses. Just because mine are old and scratched up. I don’t need a new prescription my eyes are fine. But I forgot and I’m hoping I’ll get one without cost.

I was diagnosed with cataracts last year, just as Covid-19 shut down all elective surgery. I was so concerned about not having the surgery in a timely manner last year and was honestly pretty tense when I arrived. The people (staff) here are so kind, compassionate and willing to listen that I immediately relaxed. Each step of the process was orderly, less concerning than ever (no air puff in my eyes for the glaucoma test!) and in a lovely facility. Each part of the exam completed, Dr Anderson came in to explain my results. I DON'T NEED TO HAVE CATARACT SURGERY YET. Also, there's no sign of macular degeneration (familial concerns). I don't even need to get new glasses. What am amazing visit! I enjoyed my experience and know what to watch for in case I have any problems. My only suggestion: a controlled pruning of the trees near the entrance would make your name more visible.

I have been a patient here for >3 years. Dr. Anderson is great. He thoroughly explains findings and procedures. He has a dry wit and invariably his appointments are enjoyable. Cataract surgery was by Dr. Perkins. Never thought I would ever say it was an enjoyable experience! He and the OR crew are outstanding!

The receptionists, technicians,and Dr. Anderson were great. Explained everything and did all the exams for my glaucoma. I felt the waiting area was a bit crowed, although they screened everyone when they entered and gave every one a medical grade mask and everyone un the area did cover their nose and mouth. I feel that those who are able to wait in their cars and don't have mobility problems should do so until called into exam room.

Dr. Amacher performed intra ocular lens replacement in both of my eyes at the BDP Mesa surgical center.. The first step in the process was pre-op exams with Dr. Nappi, a BDP optometrist in the Scottsdale office. Dr. Nappi exudes confidence and optimism and my general impression is that he is man who truly loves his work. I also had a pre-op exam with Dr. Graff, the retina specialist in the Mesa office. Dr. Graff was especially friendly and upbeat. Dr. Amacher's surgery on both of my eyes was flawless. Every person in the surgical center made me feel comfortable and confident. Dr. Nappi is also doing my post-op exams. Every person I have encountered at the two locations has been extremely kind and helpful. The team approach to patient care involving BDP providers gives the surgeons confidence and consistency in patient pre- and post-op reports. My experiences at BDP have been great.

This center provides excellent care and pays a lot of attention to detail. They are very well organized. My wait time at each station was less than two minutes and very much surprised me. I thought for sure when I walked into the office and saw all the waiting patients that I would be there for two hours but was out in 45 minutes. While the waiting area is often crowded and not necessarily socially distant the customer service is outstanding. They’ve implemented a new policy where you have to put on a new mask when you enter, well as someone who suffers from severe OCD, in order to avoid having an anxiety attack, I would have to wash my hands and pick the mask myself rather than having an employee hand it to me. When I explained this to the woman at the front desk (I believe her name is Nicole) she told me that she would open a brand new box of masks for me so I would be comfortable. Then after the appointment I went to reschedule and pay but there was an issue with the system I guess and the gentleman assisting me (Jahlique) was so patient and apologetic. He was friendly and helpful. I wound up having to step out of line so other patients could check out while they tried to figure out what was wrong, but after each person he helped, he went back and checked to see if they had fixed the problem. I’d like to point out that he was by himself up there as his partner was on lunch and the line of people waiting to check out just kept growing. He stayed calm, professional, and cheerful throughout the entire ordeal.

Dr. Anderson answered all my questions & solved a problem I have had with my left eye for 4 years and provided a solution to make it better! That is something my previous eye specialist could not do. Parking can be rough as a lot of patients are seen here. However there must have been around 30 people in the waiting room and I was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time which I thought was exceptional. As I was thinking these people are all ahead of me and I'm going to be here a couple hours before I'm seen, that was not the case. The staff was very friendly knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Alison Kitzerow has a great personality she's very friendly yet professional. I did not feel rushed she took the time to answer all of my questions regarding cataracts and cataract surgery. My right eye was worse than my left eye in regard to the cataracts. Alison gave me the option of waiting 6 months to a year to see how my left eye was going to progress or I could proceed with having cataract surgery on my right eye and waiting for my left to worsen before having cataract surgery on it. I decided to wait a year and have them both done at the same time. Allison also explained different lens implants and which one would probably benefit me the best for my vision. I mentioned I was a little apprehensive about having the cataract surgery. Allison informed me that LASIK is the most safest surgery there is and cataract surgery is the second most safest surgery. She also reminded me it is surgery and with any surgery there could be unforseen complications. I had Lasik in the past so her answer has put my mind at ease regarding the cataract surgery. My visit at Barnett Delaney Perkins eye center has been very positive I would recommend anyone considering cataract surgery to schedule appointment with him you won't be disappointed.

I have to start by admitting I am not usually enticed by large medical practices of any kind. There is often what I would call a, "fast food", philosophy to how these businesses work. Get the patients in and out through our doors, bill the insurance, have a nice life. However, I had a change of heart in November when my optometrist found a cataract in my left eye. They referred me to Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center and even stated that they would take their children if required. So, I went, and it has remarkable ever since I entered their care. Everyone is courteous and caring, and I have yet to meet an employee with a negative disposition. The eye care professionals are very knowledgeable and thorough. My optometrist, Dr. Stephens is awesome. He actually found a cataract in my right eye as well. He has done an incredible job keeping me informed and collecting the necessary measurements of my cornea to help ensure my surgery is successful. I am thankful that I listened to my optometrist, and I am blessed to have found such an amazing eye care center.

Went in for routine eye exam, paid my 20.00 copay they did the same eye exams that I get at optometrist every year but after taking 3 hours at check out they asked if I wanted a copy of my prescription and I said yes. She then proceeded to tell me that it would be 52.00 if I wanted a copy. I said no not paying that but because they billed under medical not Eyemed I have to pay for the script. Well I walked out cause I have never had to pay extra to get my prescription for my glasses. I will not be going back to them again unless emergency with my eyes

It is simply amazing to not have to wear contacts anymore! I did my follow up appointments with Dr. Kitzerow. Nothing but good things to say about her; she is awesome!

Dr Rabinowitz is one of those rare doctors that still see you as a human, with care, that listen, explain, and help you understand patiently and in detail what your condition is, how to best help manage it, what your options are, your risks and benefits in a caring, thoughtful way. I am so grateful for Dr Graff, Jose, and the awesome staff at Barnett, Delaney Perkins. I came in to his office after having an eye stroke in my left eye. I had never heard of an eye stroke. All I could think was I will be blind in my left eye forever from my research there were no guarantees I could get my eyesight back. Then I called Barnett, Delaney Perkins and I met Dr Graff he had an opening for an eye study for my condition. I was of course apprehensive but dr. Graff explained the benefits and risks and I was excited that this would be a perfect fit for my condition. All I can say is the improvement has been way beyond belief. I am still only 1/4 through the eye study and am getting better each treatment. Thank you Dr Graff for doing these studies I am proof that you are making a big difference and helping others in the future!!!

The staff is amazing, friendly, funny all the while being fast but paid very careful attention to detail. They made me feel safe and that I was in good hands. From Nicole at the reception desk to Nicole the technician to another technician who photographed the interior of my eye to Sophia the Dr.'s assistant and Ainsley at checkout all were polite, professional and extremely competent at their jobs. And last but not least was Dr. Anderson. My exam was very thorough and provided me with the information I needed to be able to schedule my cataract surgery. Everyone including Dr. Anderson made me feel very comfortable and let me know what was happening step by step. Fully satisfied with Barnet Dulaney Perkins for several years now and schedule with and see Dr. Jared Anderson who I consider tops. Great continuity and truly thorough in the examination so that I have decision making tool at hand to make good judgments as to what my next steps might be. Straight-shooting and direct answers to questions. Several recommendations... advise the patient in advance what information you'd like them to bring with them. Last lab work? Medication list? Whatever else you ask the day of the exam that can be answered in advance by the patient and provided on the day of the exam. Make it more accurate. ALSO... have the bright IT folks figure a way to combine or eliminate the myriad of questions that lawyers ONLY THINK they need answered!! Filling out forms on the e-notepad not an enjoyable experience...and like most web sites with minute printing... do you really expect folks to be reading that carefully and thoroughly just before they're being called to the exam room? Overkill, I believe!! All in all...we'll see you next year!!

The doctors are absolutely fabulous! Please be aware of the consulting office staff. They are supposed to inform you of any charges for your surgery. I was well-informed on my right eye what I had to pay and paid it upfront. When I showed up for my second eye surgery I was hit up with an I owe them $1790. None of this was ever discussed with me upfront. I have been back and talked to them since. They have admitted to me they missed a “step” in their office procedures. I should’ve had a consult with someone there, signed all the paperwork, and paid the money upfront, this never happened. Terrible business procedures. When I showed up for my surgery, apprehensive as could be, I was hit up with that at that moment. Horrible office staff. But the doctors are tremendous !!!

My review is mainly for my doctor Rabinowitz after my previous doctor neglected my glaucoma and end up loosing 90% of my vision on my left eye, the day I was referred to him my eye pressure over 50 and with a extreme allergic reacción to the medicine, I arrive to the clinic where he waited for me after his regular hours and did the necessary that day and schedule for surgery (shunt implant) within two days savings my eye globe and bringing the pressure down...unfortunately the damage was already done to the optical nerve but nothing he could do other than save the little vision I had and still have after 12 years. Pressure is currently 11 after 12 years without the need of eye drops. Excellent doctor!!

I am elated that I went to Barnett Delaney Perkins and met with Dr. Sipperly. I had initially come in to discuss and proceed with getting a floaters only vitrectomy for terrible floaters in my field of vision. I did however have other issues. Double vision and light sensitivity. After going to countless specialists, Dr. Sipperly instantly found issues with cataracts in the eyes. I’m now being seen for corrective surgery and I’m very happy to be on the path to better vision. From what I’ve experienced, he’s a great doctor.

Doctors seem to be top notch. They speak frankly and to the point. They provide you with the facts, and make a recommendation, but leave the decisions to you (which at my age and health, I like). The only reason for a 4 and not a 5, is there office staff and appointment rigidity. At an older age, a trip to the potty and set you back a few minutes. I think we all understand. But, when you show up on-time, but not 10 minutes before, and you get pushed to another day because you weren't there for the "Pre-Appointment" time, I think that is bad business. Ultimately it was a good health visit for me, but only after going back twice because I have a little incontinence delays. I do think they should remember who one of their major demographics is here in Arizona - the seniors.

Dr. Atodaria is knowledgable, direct, gentle in his demeanor and friendly. How to make him smile: If he gives you directives on what to do to take care of your eyes, do it. When you come back in and things are improving because you did your part as the patient to help yourself then he will smile and be overjoyed for you. Actually he smiles all the time regardless. I just wanted to say that because he does get happy and relieved when you've done your part. He really is very nice. Also he has great oral hygiene and breath. Ok, ok, that's not what you expected to hear. But seriously, when checking your eyes they have to lean in close. It's important, people! You do NOT want someone in your face like that who smokes or eats fish for lunch. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience. The only drawback at Barnett Dulaney Perkins Eye Center is that its overly crowded with patients. If the doctor wants to see you in six weeks your next appointment will be in at least two months or more. As I've said before, they could open two more offices, spread out the clients.

Dr Kitzerow was running an hour late as the kind front office staff advised her patients. I was not seen by Dr until 2 hours later. The assistant ran all the tests that I felt the Dr should have done. I saw the Dr for no more than 5 minutes .She seemed condesending and in a hurry. She offered no connection with me as a patient . I was very concerned about my diagnosis prior to seeing her. Fortunately my eyes are healthy and I can have the conditioned watched over time. So, I have been waiting for my safety glasses since I’ve ordered them back around November 25. I understand they take time; however, their excuses and empty promises have been getting worse. I’ve been told, the individual who processed the initial claim was, “new”, I will be getting my glasses before Christmas, shortly after Christmas, before the new year, right after new year and now I’ve been told the lab will not mail them to their optical department until January 8. What’s even worse, when trying to get a hold of a manager with their corporate office is nearly impossible. I’ve been given numbers for the corporate office; but, the only options are #1 provider, #2 scheduling or #3 billing. None of these departments seem to know who is in charge or how to forward my call. Next step, BBB UPDATE: Since my review, I was contacted by, Brent. Regional Manager for the southwest optical division. I have to say, he turned things 180• around of my impression of the department in question. It is unfortunate that I had to write a review of this nature to actually receive some help. However, Brent has been nothing but more than professional and empathetic in this matter. He went above and beyond to make things right and is assisting in expeditiously solving this matter. He has made me feel like a valued customer and not just another number to their business. The unfortunate lack of customer service skills as well as complacency of others should not b a reflection of a business as a whole. He is definitely someone the company needs to keep around, challenge and promote!!! My rating for this company has changed from a “1” star to “5” stars because he single handily assisted in solving his matter. I will also like to commend, Ciara at the Highley and Southern optical department for being amazing and supportive in this matter. You are tested by staff and only see the Doctor at the end of all your tests .My time with the doctor was only around 10 minutes. My eyes were in good condition. I was disappointed here. For the past 2 years, I’ve been to four doctors trying to keep up with what’s going on with my vision. I arrived to the hustle-bustle and was not welcomed at the front desk by a beautiful young woman who apparently did not want to talk with me. It was crowded and hectic in the office. The employees all seemed like there was someone cracking a whip over their heads to hurry up, “very efficient”. I brought a list of old prescriptions I’d had over the past several years and wanted to compare with how my eyes were now.The prescriptions were written by optometrists and an ophthalmologist. The Technician would not look at the list. She said, “You need to go to the internet to educate yourself”. She could have simply told me that ophthalmologists use a different number system than do optometrists. Eventually I saw the nice doctor who said I need cataract surgery. 18 months ago I didn’t need cataract surgery. Unfortunately I can’t do that right now; I’m a caretaker 24/7. Just need to get by with better glasses for the next six months. I went home and studied on the internet about eyes and prescriptions. Then I went back to the office asked for my records. Received a cold reception but I got the records! The records said my options had been explained to me in depth, what? I sought another opinion elsewhere. They kindly transcripted the BDP numbers to optometrist language so I could compare with old prescriptions. And the BDP numbers did not make sense. But I feel like I dare not go back to talk with anyone there. Just to know for sure, I ordered online glasses using the prescription I was given by BDP. Vision is sharper, but the astigmatism sure enough is way off. Some mistake there. Mostly my complaints are about the front end treatment at the office, not about the doctors. Now- you get out of here and go educate yourself!

I was not happy with my last visit, I thought It was a waste of my time. I paid $190 for the same thing I knew that my stigmatism was bad and could not be fixed, but I was under the assumption they could improve it a little bit from what was said. So I paid for nothing. For my glaucoma, I had stints put in and now my pressure is worst than before I had them put in. I would like to know how you will resolve these issues. I wanted the cataracts surgery to be for being able to see close like before when I could read fine print. Now I can't read anything close I am not a happy camper. The only thing different now is I can see farther than before which is opposite of what we had discussed. I told them I wanted the same vision abilities that I came in with but now it is reversed.
