Arizona Eye Specialists is an awesome place! The staff was friendly and helpful. Dr Janousek answered all my questions and he explained thing clearly. I was also very impressed with Karen who helped me pick out frames. I've been to other offices where it is mass production...rush rush rush. Not at Arizona Eye Specialists. They were wonderful. :-)

Dr. Sarah Maki has done both of my cataract surgeries. She is highly skilled and professional. She takes time to answer all your questions and explain your condition & anticipated surgery. I was an office manager for an ophthalmologist for many years, and I'm very critical of how I'm treated in any doctor's office. Her staff is cheerful and heloful, and you are not kept waiting to see Dr. Maki. At no time during or after surgery did I suffer any pain or discomfort. When my husband is ready for cataract surgery, he will definitely be going to Dr. Maki. I think she's awesome, and I highly recommend her!

This was my first visit to Arizona Eye Specialists and they were terrific. They were right on time for my appointment and took care of me right away. The receptionist (sorry I failed to get her name) was so very pleasant and informative. The eye exam was very thorough and extremely informative. the Doctor answered all of my questions and made sure that I understood and was comfortable with all of the information. I highly recommend them for any eye care needs.

Update: Still awesome. I love this office. The receptionist is friendly and helpful. The techs are great and good at their jobs. And the doctor is fantastic. Unlike other optometrists I've seen, they're not just about selling you glasses. The doctor focused primarily on my eye health and how to best help my dry eye and allergies. I love this place. Sending my husband here, and will keep coming back. Original review: Wasn't happy with the eye dr I've seen previously. He doesn't communicate very well, the new techs in his office are incompetent (don't know what type of appt you're there for and what tests to do), etc etc. The worst part was that he acted like a jealous boyfriend when he found out I had done an eye exam somewhere else. He literally said he doesn't trust anyone else's eye prescriptions. So... time to look for a new eye doc. I tried Dr Janousek @ AZ Eye Specialists. They're great. The office staff are friendly and good at what they do. The doctor is very knowledgeable, communicates what he's doing, what he's seeing, and what the options are. And best of all, they're not pushy about selling glasses. They just seem honestly concerned with getting you the right options for your eyes. I'm happy I switched, and will be back for my next check up.

This was a first time appointment for an annual eye exam. The scheduling process was very easy and I was able to secure a timely appointment. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Their compliance with the covid requirements was very good, requiring social distancing, wearing of masks, availability of hand sanitizer, use of new pens and disinfecting of used pens, very nice environment and waiting room area. Procedural room was very clean and equipment was wiped down after use. The ophthalmologist, Dr. Janousek, was very cordial and knowledgeable and entertained and answered all of my questions in lay persons terms. I would highly recommend this practice.

I am very impressed with this physician. Dr. Maki ordered some additional eye drops for my glaucoma my last visit. During this visit, she asked how expensive it was. I told her the monthly copay was $47, so she switched me to a generic version with a $0 copay. I have been very impressed at every visit.

I have been satisfied with my visits so far. The wait was longer this visit, but once the examination started, everything progressed in a timely manner. The person who assists with the glasses even replaced the nose pads, tightened the screws, and provided me with a phone number and address to fix another issue with my glasses. Everyone--the office staff, medical staff, the doctor himself, and Stephanie at the lens and eyewear department--all seemed to know what they were doing. That's pretty rare these days. They were all very pleasant people, too. We will see how our glasses come back, but so far so good! Would recommend!

I am happy to say that I have had cataracts removed from both eyes now. My dry eye situation got worse but everyone is different and Dr Maki explained that that can also be corrected. I got concerned as friends who had talked about their surgeries made it sound like everything would be fine upon leaving surgery. Not so! It takes time for the swelling to go down and the eye drops to do their job. In the end things went as planned, everybody was fantastic and caring and it's good to know I can put it out of my mind now. Stay tuned as an eyelid lift has been recommended and I will review that too. Thanx to everyone at AZ Eye Specialists and the surgery center in Scottsdale.

I was experiencing eye discomfort and called with concern to discuss a course of immediate treatment. I requested a check of my eye pressure. They were kind enough to schedule me for an appointment later that afternoon. Upon arrival, I was taken back and received my pressure check by a very friendly and competent tech named Jill. After my pressure was deemed to be within the normal range, I was then taken to be examined by Dr. Janousek. He, too, was very friendly and competent. He determined that my left eye had iritis and suggested that I resume using my Prednisolone drops. He suggested a 4 week regimen and sent me on my way. I was already scheduled to see my regular doctor, Dr. Maki, in May for a follow-up.
