Dr. Nightingale is always attentive to questions, explains his answers without medical jargon, is friendly and prompt. The staff are on top of scheduling and insurance and also are friendly and prompt. I have not had any serious issues, but the doctor has addressed my age-related concerns. My husband had a great experience with cataract surgery performed by Dr. Nightingale.

Great experience. I was scared about getting cataract surgery but Dr. Nightingale was reassuring and professional. The cataract surgery improved my vision unbelievably. I still wear eyeglasses, but not always. If we fall into a Twilight Zone scenario where I'm the only person left on the planet and have full access to a library but discover my glasses busted in the explosion - won't make any difference to me. I don't have to use glasses to read or use the computer - not anymore. (If this example means nothing to you, just know, your vision is going to improve with his surgery.) Dr. Nightingale remembers me from year-to-year, offers no-nonsense advice about vision, eye health, eyeglasses. (My prescription hasn't changed much since the surgery - another plus.) Definitely go his practice. I believe he was the first surgeon to perform laser cataract surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai on 14th and 1st. That says something, right there.

Dr A Nightengale was fine and the front desk was good. But the assistant was harsh and unpleasant and made it clear that I was not to ask her any questions. Also, I called several times last year to ask about what to use (over the counter) for my dry eyes, and the office was completely unable to help get me through to Dr N and unable to make a recommendation. I finally got this info at this visit but I'm not sure why his office couldn't provide this a year ago.

1/11/23 Dr. Andrew Nightingale performed my cataract surgery 2 years ago. On 1/10 I went in because I thought I had injured my left eye. My vision was very cloudy, but it turned out to be something he could treat. It was a film that sometimes occurs on the replacement lenses. I was so relieved and happy he could fix it. And I'll go back to have my right eye fixed as well. I was originally seen by Dr. Jeffrey Nightingale a wonderful doctor as is Andrew his son. I've been going to this practice for 20 years and I can highly recommend it.

Dr Nightingale discovered lashes growing inward on left eye as possible cause for irritation. I had explained to all I wasn’t therefor check-up but to check on irritation. However, I feel I got a general check up and good sense of eye health. Eyes are still itchy with some crusting in both and irritated skin. Need far more information on upcoming cataract surgery but they won't give it to me until 1 month prior to the surgery date. I'd like to have the information sooner so that I can work with my insurance company to see what the financial commitment will be... I have now called the office twice to request the paperwork in advance. I was told by someone in the administrators office that they would send me a copy of the paperwork so that I would have more information; so far I called twice and so far I have not received anything even after confirming my correct email address. It was not made clear in what time frame they plan to send this to me but I told them I was not interested in waiting for more information until the pre-op- appointment which is in mid- March, 4 months from now. I am not interested in waiting that long is it is it possible to make plans so please get back to me ASAP.

Was absolutely terrified for Lasik but finally caved because I couldn't read signs anymore and had a lot of trouble with contacts because of my astigmatisms so had been walking around fairly blind (lol or so I found out after surgery). Dr. Nightingale did an amazing job; I have 20/20 vision now, recovery was a breeze, I had very minimal blood spots on my eye, and he was very calm throughout everything, which helps immensely if you're also a bit scared. Couldn't recommend him more for Lasik, really great experience.

Dr. Nightingale possesses professional demeanor, speaks at your level, calm and knowledgeable. He explains situations that relays well with the recipient. His staffs are respectful, experienced and moves with ease. Waiting time is expected to a highly in-demand professional but, tolerable. But, after surgery, I got frustrated when I asked for a statement about my vision as part of my employment application, which I f/u 3x but, it was all in vain. Was this too much to ask as part of a customer-patient service? But, whenever they sent the bills, they were all promptly attended.

My first visit (new patient) went as well as I could have hoped for. I was greeted by very pleasant and efficient staff. The appointment went forward on time, in 3 phases (by 3 different persons): measurements then vision check then, after pupil dilation, time with Dr. Nightingale. My questions were answered at each of the three phases, including with respect to possible surgery, and I left with prescriptions. I felt in very good hands. The detailed receipt for FSA purposes for the visit was in my inbox within hours.

I like Dr. Nightingale. I was searching "eye doctor" on Emblem Health website. Of course, I try visit somebody near my place. I start make phone calls. Some doctors works only certain days (very inconvenient), other offices front desk were terrible, "rude" over phone. Finally I discover Andrew B. Nightingale (Emblem Health website, he is listed as Jeffrey Nightingale, just for your knowledge) . On first call to office I got impress, lady put me on hold, 7 mins later she return to me, apologies to keep me on hold, ask me to wait a few more minutes. A few minutes later she answer all my questions, advice me regarding referral and possible fees not cover by my insurance. (Wow, usually other places I received that info regarding "surprise" fees after). From past experience I remember, if receptionist nice, doctor usually terrible, or vice versa. But Dr. Nightingale are exception. Waiting time between registration, test made by staff and contact with doctor were short. Friendly, professional, attentive listener. He help me with my problem. I glad in NYC, in my neighborhood still have so great, "old school" doctor.
