Dr Leader and his staff at New Orleans Eye Specialist have been some of the best I have come across in the medical profession. I have been a patient of Dr Leader for almost 20 years. I can honestly say his actions toward my eyesight have always been meticulous. He listens, observes and is very patient making sure any instructions he gives are understood. The office atmosphere lets you know that everyone seems to know their job and work for the patients. Very good doctor, great staff, and Highly recommended.

Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes after your confirmed appointment. The Doctors are really good, but the office is not managed well. Today I waiting 45 minutes from my appointment time before being called. I checked with a girl that had her preliminary & drops and her appointment was 10 minutes after mine.

I extremely enjoyed my visit with Dr. Hendricks. He come in washed his hands, and started a conversation with me. We talked about current events, and I felt as if we had known each other for a long time. He actively listened to me, and what led up to me arriving at his office. He did his exam, and found the problem very quickly. Dr. Hendricks explained how the problem occurred, and how to prevent future problems from occurring. He was very easy to talk to, and I see myself returning for future eye care.

I highly recommend this practice and especially Dr Balkan. It was easy to make an appointment, the wait time wasn’t too long and their appointment reminders were helpful. Dr Balkan was a perfect mixture of kind, straight forward and professional. He is great at listening and answering questions.

Your gentle touch, compassionate, listening heart is so healing and put me at ease. Every step of the way you whispered what was coming next and there were no surprises. One of the most comforting actions was holding my hand during the surgery. For each of you this is not a job but it is a ministry bringing hope and healing. Dr Balkan has been taking care of our daughters for many years, since my 12yr old was 4yrs old. My children love going to see Dr Balkan. He plays with the kids while checking their eyes and he listens to everything that they have to say. He explains anything that I need to know and addresses any concerns that i may have. I have sent several friends there and they have all told me that he has taken good care of their children.

Dr Hendericks is an extremely knowledgeable and very patient opthamolgist. His practice is centered around providing individualized care to each patient. Both he and his staff are genuinely concerned about being certain that his clients are well informed regarding their visual diagnosis as well their course of treatment. Dr Balkan was great. Staff at reception desk didn’t give me prescription for new glasses and when I called to get emailed I was told it would be done in a few minutes at 11am. At 2 pm I called again and what I don’t like is you can’t talk to anyone. You are told auto that you will be called back by the end of the day. I never received email or call back. Problem because it was a Friday so now I have to wait until Monday. I hope new glasses will be ready on time for school.

Dr. Leader is kind and patient. The rest of the staff worked with me to find glasses that would not exacerbate my migraine pain. I highly recommend this facility.
