10 stars. Getting lasik was a big deal for me, having dealt with poor vision my whole life. I was beyond sick of dealing with contacts and glasses. If you’re in the same boat, I highly recommend this clinic. It’s only natural to feel nervous or scared at first, the idea of having that kind of surgery done on your eyes can be unsettling. A fear of going blind can be real. The doctors here are absolutely amazing and erased any doubt I had. Very engaged and informative with years of experience, they know exactly what they are doing. I felt safe and secure the entire process. Especially during the actual procedure, I knew they wouldn’t let anything bad happen to me. And I was right. I came out having perfect vision. It’s only been a few days having this new eyesight, but I already know It changed my life forever. You don’t realize the freedom of being able to see this well without contacts or glasses, until you actually have it done. I have nothing but good things to say, I’m so thankful for these doctors and anyone else involved with the clinic. ☀️

My husband and I both had our vision corrected by Dr. Whiting. Husband did his surgery 5+ years ago and tried for years to convince me because he loved the results so much. Finally, despite my nerves, I made an appointment and got the procedure all within the same week. Although I was nervous about it, I now wish I would have done this years ago. I could not recommend any person better than Dr. Whiting. I was unable to see things further than half a foot away. I have had to struggle with this since I was 7 years old and my eye site got worse each year. Thousands of dollars had gone to contacts and glasses. I finally did my research and found Whiting Clinic. I had heard of other places but Whiting clinic had stood out to me right away. I went for it and made the call to go in. It has been the best choice I had ever made, they were so kind and caring they treat you like their main priority everytime. From consultation to day of surgery to after and over the phone they continue to care for your needs or answer any of your concerns. Have I mentioned how amazing Dr. Whiting is. I can see without contacts or glasses! I did need to get a readjustment on one eye, even then they still have treated it like a main priority and there care and kindness has not changed as some places have a tendency to do.There price is amazing for all that it covers can not find anything better for the quality and care they give. I can not be more happy with my results and would strongly recommend everyone to Dr. Whiting and his staff at Whiting clinic.

I decided to go with Whiting clinic because 2 of my friends had lasik done by Dr. Whiting and highly recommended him. I was so scared to have the procedure done, but the whole experience was amazing. I wish I had done it years ago. There was very little pain and I could see like I had contacts in within 3 hours of the procedure. It really is a miracle to be able to see without assistance. Dr Whiting was very nice and friendly and even took the time to walk me back to my husband after the surgery. His staff were all very friendly and accommodating as well. Words can not express how thankful I am to everyone at Whiting Clinic.

I just recently had my 3 month post-procedure appointment (LASIK), and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with Whiting Clinic. I was referred to Whiting by several friends, and I could immediately see why. The clinic itself is clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They go above and beyond to make your experience a positive one. It was great to be able to have a free consultation. I was very impressed with the level of testing they did to be sure they knew what option was the best fit for me. The staff/doctors made sure to explain everything and answer all my questions. I purchased a Groupon for my procedure, which saved me several hundred dollars. The procedure itself was super quick and painless. Dr. Whiting was reassuring, and described every step so I knew what to expect. I had a couple hours of discomfort after the procedure, but it quickly resolved, and I could see! One day post-procedure I had better than 20/20 vision, and it's continued to be that way! Amazing! After living for more than 20 years with glasses and contacts, I am free! My vision is better than ever, thanks to Whiting!

Dr. Whiting and his staff run a great clinic, every part of the process was easy, explained clearly, and done in a way that was best for the customer. Their website is easy to navigate with lots of good information. The initial consult was very detailed, the is very clean, and comfortable, going through the appointment they gave me lots of time to ask questions. I especially liked that when presenting me LASIK options rather than going for the surgery that was the most expensive they presented options and gave me pros and cons to both helping me make an informed decision. The actual surgery was amazing, they walked me through every step of the process, made me comfortable, and gave very detailed and clear post op instructions. Dr. Whiting did a great job and I was on the table for about 2 minutes. I came home rested for a bit and now see better than I ever could before. You get what you pay for and when it comes to your vision I want the best and that's what I got. I would tell anyone to go to Whiting Clinic for their vision car.

I had my all laser surgery done a few days ago and was seeing 20/20 the next day! I had a -7 contact prescription previously. The process was very quick and I have no complaints so far. The staff was excellent and Dr. Whiting was professional and reassuring. I had been hesitant for years to entertain the idea of Lasik surgery. Even before I was finished with my initial consultation, I knew that Whiting Clinic was the place for me. Their preparation and communication about the procedure was outstanding. I am amazed at how at ease I felt throughout the day of the procedure. Dr. Whiting and the entire staff exceeded my expectations, and I am so happy that I finally was brave enough to have Lasik. It's been one week since I had the surgery, and I can see just as I could with corrective lenses. The side effects (dry eyes and halos) are minimal, and I was well-prepared by Whiting Staff that I would likely experience these side effects for a short period of time. I highly recommend Whiting Clinc!

I had worn glasses for almost 30 years, and my sister encouraged me to have a lasik consultation at Whiting Clinic after having a great experience there herself in December 2017. From the very beginning, I was very impressed with the clinic and the staff. Everyone was very knowledgeable and professional, everything was very organized, and I left the consultation knowing what to expect for the procedure and recovery process. My procedure could not have gone more smoothly, and I am very satisfied with my experience.

I went to a couple different places for lasik consultations and did a lot of research prior to picking Whiting Clinic. The places I went to were similar in many aspects including the technology, lifetime enhancements, and price. What took Whiting over the top was their customer service and the experience of Dr. Whiting. From the moment I called to make an appointment it was easy to see they make customer service a priority. As nice as it is to be treated well, it's even better knowing the Dr is one of the best in the business. I had the procedure done a week ago today and it was so quick and painless that I came out of it saying "that's it?". I couldn't believe I was already done and yet I could read the clock on the wall. I was pretty clueless when I started the process of having my vision corrected. After the first evaluation and finding out what procedures were recommended for me I couldn't wait to get the procedure done. I went with the PRK and although I am still recovering, the entire process has been a breeze. Every staff member I have encountered was highly professional and friendly. Upon meeting Dr. Whiting on the day of my procedure, any remaining uneasiness I had was put to rest. He is very personable and I highly recommend him to all my friends and family. I am giving Whiting Clinic Lasik all 5 stars because from my first appointment to my procedure was in a matter of 3 weeks. The price was very comparable to everything else I found, but the lifetime 'warranty' on the procedure was my biggest selling point. I was one of the lucky ten percenters to get PRK because of my odd-shaped corneas. Well, I'm writing this 24 hours after surgery and I am impressed. While there is still some aching and burning, it's not nearly as bad as I anticipated. I have the amazing staff at the Whiting Clinic to thank for that. Every single step of the way they have been incredibly welcoming, comforting and informative. Everything about the office and it's staff makes the process much easier than I was expecting. I received my lasik about 22 hours ago and I am happy to say after 15 years of glasses and contacts I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW! The staff was amazing for my consultation and during operation day. They were able to answer all of my questions and are incredibly nice. All of the Doctors are amazing as well. I would thoroughly recommend the Whiting Clinic! After wearing glasses/contacts for 30 years, I finally decided to look into Lasik and like so many others, the only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner. I ended up doing PRK rather than Lasik due to my prescription/astygmatism and was initially nervous about this. The Whiting staff were so accommodating from the point of my initial consult, my many calls to ask further questions about the procedure and recovery to the excellent care and TLC the day of my procedure. The procedure went well, the recovery has been great and the follow-up care excellent. There are no words for being able to see without the use of contacts or glasses. Thank you, Whiting Clinic!

The staff is punctual, the clinic is very clean, they give you a packet with all the information as soon as you walk in, and it's a great experience. I worked for another Lasik company in 2014. They were not as organized and upfront as the Whiting Clinic. It took around 30 minutes for my initial exam at Whiting. At my old Job, they would have you at the clinic for nearly two hours before hitting you with sales pitches. I'm happy with the way Whiting Operates as a Business and my eyes are doing great after getting PRK.

I had my LASIK done about a month ago now and I absolutely love it! I've had glasses since I was in preschool so getting LASIK was a huge life changing moment for me! All of the staff at Whiting are excellent and take very good care of you from the start of the initial consultation to the day of your surgery. I had pretty bad astigmatism so Dr. Whiting said it could take 3-6 months for my eyes to completely heal and so that the cornea can adjust to it's new shape. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service and the surgery. I would recommend to ANY of my family and friends!

They are, without doubt, the best group of eye care professionals I have ever met and I am so very grateful for the tremendous gift they gave me in my LASIK procedure. Where to start?? From everything I've heard I could not understand why there was only one location but I'm glad there is. The feel of the place made me feel comfortable just walking through the door for my consultation. The staff is wonderful! I felt like I was the one and only patient they had that day. The staff did a full examination of my eyes along with a full mapping and I left there with an appointment for the surgery the very next day-not 2 weeks later. Dr. Whiting is very gifted and humble. I decided to go with Whiting Clinic over other LASIK providers because of all the rave reviews, as well as Dr. Whiting's level of experience in the field. I was right in my choice! Whiting Clinic has excellent customer service. Their specialists walk you through every step of the way to help you determine whether or not you are a good candidate for LASIK. They also provide you with detailed instructions on what to do before and after the procedure to ensure your eyes heal properly. During the procedure they will give you numbing drops as well as an oral sedative to help you sleep once you get home or one for anti-anxiety in case of panic during the procedure. I had no issues personally, but they help keep you calm during the procedure. It's only been a little over a week right now, but my eyes are still going strong! Best of all is how attentive Dr. Whiting is! Immediately after my surgery he sent me an email, describing how my eyes will adjust over time and said that if I needed anything I could contact him for help. I've already gone back and forth with him a couple times. He's very responsive!! He actually CARES about his patients, rather than seeing them as mere cash flow. My conclusion: you can't go wrong with Whiting Clinic. Of course it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion with another provider, but I'm confident you will be very satisfied with the level of service here.

Thank you so much Dr. Whiting for doing a great job with my eyes! I was so nervous coming into this but your staff was awesome and made me feel comfortable with everything. Everyone there is so nice from the lady that does the scheduling to you the LASIK surgeon. It's been 21 days today and each day I wake excited to see the world clearly without glasses! If I had to do this all over again, I would still choose Whiting clinic. Dr. Whiting has definitely mastered his craft and runs a smooth operation. Update 1: It's just over two months post LASIK and my vision is stable, I can see great and no irritation. Totally loving it! Update 2: Almost 4 months now and perfect vision (20/15 actually)! I still wake up in the morning surprised at how good my vision is. Supposedly at the 4-6 mo mark is where your vision will stabilize and I feel mine has. Couldn't be happier!

Dr. Whiting and his staff really set the bar high when it comes to LASIK. I'm the type of person that puts a TON of research and thought into decisions like this, especially when it's my eyes and my health. After weeks of research comparing reviews and types of lasers, prices, facilities and two consultations (one at Whiting and one at another major Twin Cities LASIK provider) I chose Whiting and I couldn't be happier with my decision. From my consultation — to my LASIK procedure — to my follow-up appointment, the Whiting staff (including Dr. Whiting himself) were friendly, informative and professional. It's clear a lot of thought was put into the design and operational aspects of the clinic. From the moment you walk in, the friendly staff and beautifully designed informational booklets make you feel well taken care of. The fancy espresso machine, complimentary sodas and cookies are all a bonus. The staff does a great job of explaining exactly what they are doing during the consultation and your procedure. They are friendly and look very professional in their Whiting uniforms. I was very impressed. I was extremely nervous for my procedure and every aspect of the Whiting Clinic made me feel at ease. The different between Whiting and the other large big-box, corporate LASIK center in the Twin Cities was like the difference between a night at the Hyatt and a night at a Motel 8. Seriously. Before my Whiting surgery, I relaxed in my private LASIK suite, waiting for the valium to set in, while sipping hot tea. Dr. Whiting came in to chat and go over exactly what we were going to do. I got to choose the color of the room and the music. During the procedure, Linda's count-down was helpful, while Ingrid's gentle rub on my arm was comforting — almost like I was a nervous child and my mom's comforting touch was right there. After the procedure, I was given a calming eucalyptus cloth which helped eased the senses. As far as eye surgery goes, it was truly a spa-like experience. Comforting and personal. I'm still in awe of how easy a person can regain their eyesight and I know that Whiting is the best place in the state of Minnesota to do it. The state-of-the-art facility, the friendly and professional staff, the price, the lifetime commitment, Dr. Whitings number of procedures performed just can't be beat, anywhere. Once you get it all down on paper, it's just a no-brainer.

I was terrified when i was walking in for procedure. But the team was amazing. Dr. Whiting was kind and knowledgeable. There was a sweet nurse counting down for me and it made all the difference. They really do understand the patients perceptive and act accordingly. This was the best choice of my life. Side note. I had a friend who also got lasik at a different company and her results seems a lot more painful than mine and she wants as happy. I wont name the other facility but it just straightens that his was the right choice and the right doctor.

Dr. Whiting should be everyone's 1st choice when it comes to lasik. Like many others I was extremely nervous coming into my procedure but after arriving and talking with Dr. Whiting and his staff I felt very comfortable. After the procedure I had ZERO issues, I mean nothing at all. The next day driving in for follow up I could see signs farther down the road than my wife with her glasses! I was very anxious the day of surgery but the staff made me very comfortable, they walked me thru step by step about the whole procedure. Where do i even begin...... i did my research and decided Whiting Clinic looked to be the best in the area. I live 3 hours south and came up for my pre exam. From the moment i walked in i felt welcome in a friendly professional environment. There was no pressure after my pre exam to schedule a date (although i did schedule that day and went in with that mind set to the pre exam). The day of surgery staff went over all the details and then I met the man himself, Dr Whiting. One of the nicest doctors I've ever met. He talked me through the procedure and let me know what was going on as it happened. The surgery itself took less than 15 minutes in the room. Only maybe 20 seconds per eye of actual laser. Outside of a little discomfort (eye clamps, no way around a little feeling strange) there was no pain! I was shocked. I couldnt believe it was over so fast. It was a little blurry after but i could already see better. By night time 4 hours after I went to a movie and could see perfect. Today at my follow up i can see at 20/15 vision. Better than perfect! I would recommened Whiting Clinic to anyone. Dont buy into the hype of cheap LASIK ads on the radio. Whiting Clinic has very good rates and the best technology available. Worth every penny to have a top tier doctor do the surgery. My only regret is not doing this procedure sooner! 5/5!!! A+++

I had my LASIK surgery yesterday and I had my follow up visit today and I am seeing20/20. First time in 35 years😃 The staff is so welcoming and patiently answered all my questions. I had a wonderful experience at Whiting Clinic. All of the staff really knows how to put you at ease. I had my consultation on Thursday, surgery Friday morning and had my follow up appointment on Saturday morning. During my consultation, I was told that I had thick and flat corneas, which were perfect for their bladed option. When I had a consultation at a different LASIK provider, they had really pushed the bladeless surgery (which of course is more expensive). Whiting Clinic offers bladeless, and said that if I wanted to have it, I could - but they reassured me that my eyes would be just fine with the bladed procedure. The surgery was very quick. The numbing drops work well, and they do offer you a Valium to relax. On the way home, my eyes felt fine - I had read other reviews saying that their eyes felt like they had sand in them, I felt nothing like that. I had brought a sleep mask with me and put that over the pair of sunglasses that the clinic gave me. Once I arrived home, I took a nap for 4 hours. When I woke up, my eyes felt a little dry, but nothing too uncomfortable. The clinic gives you a little "cheat sheet" to keep track of your eye drops, which I found very helpful. You need to use 2 Rx eye drops for one week, along with moisturizing drops. The following day I had my after-surgery appointment. My eyes had small red spots on them from the instruments that hold the eye open and Dr. Loomis said that they would fade over time. It has been about 3 weeks since I had my surgery and am so happy that I chose Whiting Clinic. My eyes have been dry, but I stare at a computer screen all day and it is very dry in my house, so I have been using a lot of moisturizing drops. My vision is wonderful and not having to wear glasses is great. I highly recommend Whiting Clinic.

I'm 4 weeks into my lasik treatment and I love it. Dr whiting has been very responsive in any questions I have. He even responded to an inquiry I had on general eye health while he was on vacation. I did much Lasik research before arranging a visit. A friend had Lasik performed 10 years ago by Dr. Whiting and said he could not have chosen a finer professional. Whiting Clinic has been one of the best examples of customer service I've ever experienced. I work for a health care system specializing in training and education (including customer service training) and I was so impressed with the entire experience at Whiting Clinic. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by friendly staff, then there is an expresso bar and beverages available while you wait, and during your appointment the staff thoroughly walks you through the entire LASIK procedure (not to mention they ask you if you need anything and mention where the restrooms are anytime you enter a new room). As an educator, I found the informational materials extremely impressive and I left my initial appointment well informed and with clear expectations of the procedure and costs. I even had issues with my prescription (on the pharmacy side, it had nothing to do with the Whiting Clinic) and they were able to work with the pharmacy to fix the issue right away and they even called back later to check on me. Not only is the staff friendly and well trained, but Dr. Whiting is also down to earth and kind hearted.I can't say enough about my experience here and I recommend the Whiting Clinic to anyone interested in corrective eye surgery. A special shout out to Amanda for making the experience even more fun! I laughed throughout our appointment and she made me feel like I was more than just her 15th patient of the day. My vision was just about 20/15 on my follow up appointment (the day after my procedure). That's better than "perfect." The procedure itself was extremely quick. I was clearly nervous during the procedure but Dr. Whiting and his staff were extremely comforting and professional. I can't recommend them enough. Plus you get to sit in an Eames lounge chair while you wait. How cool is that? I typically don't care to write reviews but want to share my experience. I had lasik done about less than a year ago, everything was smooth sailing up until 6 months in I notice my right eye was blurrier than the left, I have slight astigmatism in my right eye as I was told. I called the clinic and was told they'll redo the right eye at no charge! I scheduled a visit and was literally in and out in less than 10 min. Dr. Whiting is very caring, friendly, and he really stands behind his work. Definitely recommend to anyone thinking of getting Lasik!!

I am SO impressed with Dr. Whiting. He saved me $1,000 over another clinic that I was considering. The surgery was a piece of cake, I had VERY minimal pain afterwards, and within 4 or 5 hours after surgery, I could see pretty close to perfect. I was worried about having dry eyes afterwards, but I'm only using eye drops 2 or 3 times a day, and it's only been 3 weeks since surgery. I only wish I had done LASIK years ago. The staff was extremely professional, and they went through all of the pros and cons very thoroughly. 3 Month Review: I just had my 3 month checkup and am seeing 20/15 out of each eye. My vision correction is perfect. I do have some side effects though. The most irritating is night driving has become less enjoyable since headlights have a slight starburst effect and hasn't gotten any better. This is also noticeable during daytime once and awhile but primarily at night time. I have a "floater" in my right eye which is "unusual" for a 24 year old. The doctor mentioned this may or may not have been caused by the lasik surgery but there is no way of knowing. I believe it was from the lasik procedure since I started noticing it shortly afterwards. This is a small nuisance, however, as it's primarily only noticeable while working on the computer. I am still using my eye drops in the mornings as it feels like my eyes are somewhat glued shut when I wake up but hardly ever need them besides that. Original Review: I just had my 3 week checkup after my Lasik procedure. I am seeing 20/15 in each eye (I had asked for a 20/10 line but they didn't have one on the projector!). The eye doctor I went to said that the surgeon could not have done a better job! I only had a -1.25 prescription in each eye before Lasik with little to no astigmatism. The procedure was quick and painless. Everyone at Whiting Clinic was very helpful and straight forward. I didn't feel like I had to make a decision on the spot, although I did because I did not want glasses anymore. They recommend to not rub your eyes for a whole month, which sounds difficult, but it isn't that bad. I felt completely fine during the first week with slight blurriness here and there. During my second week, you are suppose to stop using the prescribed eye drops, which I did, but I experienced a fair amount of discomfort in both eyes. I called and they mentioned to keep using the eye drops for another 4 days. After that, I felt great. I had dry eyes but it's clearing up very quickly now. I qualified for the cheapest rate ($595/eye, which isn't bad considering they have the most advanced equipment and experience) and am extremely thrilled with my results currently. I'm glad I went here. They offer a lifetime guarantee as well, so that is a huge plus. I would recommend Dr. Whiting. I'll try to update this after my 3 month checkup also. Just a bonus, they have refreshments for every visit, which was really nice while in the waiting room. Overall: I am satisfied with the outcome but would be more hesitant if I were to do it again since I had a fairly low prescription beforehand. I don't believe there are any better doctors to perform the surgery but the surgery itself is what I'm not 100% confident in. Just thought I would let whoever reads this know how I feel about it after having it done with a low prescription. It is extremely nice not having to worry about glasses/contacts though! Hope that helps. It's also fair to note that i received a $250 bill from the eye doctor I had gone to (that was recommended by Whiting Clinic for the check ups) for my first check up. I called and Whiting Clinic said to ignore it and that they would take care of it...which is extremely professional in my opinion! Pros: 20/15 vision out of each eye No glasses/contacts Cons: Somewhat dry eyes on occasion Slight starburst glow with lights (less enjoyable night driving) Possible "floaters" in eyeball? Possible other complications

I put off lasik thinking it was too expensive, and now that I have it I’m kicking myself for not doing it earlier. Seriously. I see way better than I ever did with my glasses or contacts. I had my LASIK done about two weeks ago, and wow. All I can say is -- LIFE CHANGING. I had such a positive experience at Whiting Clinic and I would recommend it to anyone looking into LASK eye surgery. They are a very well oiled machine, and yet each and every person I came into contact with, from the front desk to Dr. Whiting, were incredibly kind and helpful. It's difficult to find a more experienced surgeon than Dr. Whiting, and I felt so comfortable knowing how much expertise he has. The competitive pricing is the cherry on top. Anyone in the Twin Cities area looking for the best LASIK Clinic -- this is it. Just two things I would like others to know: 1. I had a LASIK consultation at a different clinic before coming to Whiting, and they told me I was not a candidate for the surgery. Yet Whiting told me I was an excellent candidate and now here I am two weeks later with 20/15 vision. I know some people truly are not candidates for LASIK, but I am so glad I went to the trouble of getting a second opinion. Take that for what it is. 2. Do not panic if your vision is not perfect right after the surgery, or even a week or two after the surgery. After reading so many online reviews I felt like something was wrong when my right eye healed much faster than my left. Everyone seems to say vision is perfect the day after the surgery. But be patient and give it time! Because yes, your eyes really will continue getting better even after a few weeks. That has been the case with me, and I would love to save someone else the unnecessary worrying if I can.

This place is awesome and they have this down! From the moment I walked in, everyone who I came in contact with was friendly and helpful. It was like a well-orchestrated dance, with very little wait time throughout the process of consultation and day-of procedure. I didn't have to wait long to get an appointment for my consultation and ended up having LASIK the next morning! They told me everything to expect during the procedure and during recovery at home. It was exactly how everything happened, too! The procedure room is personalized to you with preference of colored lights and music being played. (They can play any kind of music you want.) Having my choice of music allowed for me to concentrate on that during the procedure and feel peaceful. After getting home, I knew that everything that I was feeling was normal because of them telling me ahead of time. I could not have asked for a better experience with LASIK and it was great pricing from a top provider! Whiting Clinic is Great! Just one week ago I sent a request for consultation. Within the hour, I was emailed back with the detailed information I had asked for. My appointment was set up for the next day. The free consultation was fantastic. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and professional. I went from room to room in a very organized fashion as I met with different staff members. At the end I was given the opportunity to schedule my surgery, but there was no pressure to do so. Satisfied with the process and the price so far, I scheduled my surgery just 5 days out. The surgery was quick and painless. Again the staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Whiting talked me through the procedure while it was happening and made it very relaxing. With over 100,000 surgeries he probably could have done it in his sleep. Immediately after the surgery which took no more than a minute per eye, I was seeing better. My vision continued to clear and the next day during my follow up visit they confirmed that I was seeing 20/20. Within 1 week from inquiring, I am now seeing 20/20. Every step in the process was great, especially having Lasik Plus to compare it to. I did a consultation with Lasik Plus and the process was not nearly has slick. The staff was mediocre, scheduling took much longer and they quoted me nearly 2x as much as Whiting Clinic. Lasik Plus also put high pressure on me to book my surgery at the end of the consultation. I highly recommend Whiting Clinic to anyone considering Lasik. Go straight to them and don't bother with LasikPlus.

They even had my favorite Pandora station playing for my procedure. 9 days postop on a busy Friday afternoon Dr. Erntson fit me in to her schedule to see me because I was concerned with my vision. She took the time to explain everything to me and gave me realistic expectations. Prior to lasik my prescription was -7 and -5.5. Now 14 days post op I am seeing 20/20 on an eye exam but still have trouble with low contrast sensitivity and slightly blurred vision. The good news is that I feel well taken care of at Whiting, which is essential when you are having an operation on your eyes. I also know that if my eyes don’t heal perfectly that enhancement is an option and I also know it is likely that over the next 2 weeks my eyes will continue to improve. I was a bit worried before going in for a lasik consultation due to the severity of my near-sightedness and my astigmatism. The staff and doctors at Whiting Clinic were amazingly welcoming and friendly and I ended up finding out I was a outstanding candidate for lasik due to the thickness of my corneas. It's now exactly 5 hours after my surgery, and my eyes feel great and my vision is phenomenal. The surgery was over on the first so quickly I thought they were still calibrating the laser when they switched to the other eye. It was well worth the cost to have one of the best surgeons in the country and such a pleasant experience—and the cost was much lower than I thought it would be. If you've been thinking of it but holding off on the consultation, do yuself a favor and call.

My Lasik experience was awesome. It was 8 days ago. I never write Google reviews, but I will for this. I want to give you my full experience of it. Dr. Whiting is a pro and walks you through every step of the way. The woman in the room who sat next to me during the procedure was also very calming to help you relax (I wish I remember her name, I was a bit nervous at the time - it's your eyes after all!). She was like having your mom in there with you. The Doctors and staff I met with throughout the process were very helpful, friendly and patient to answer any questions. There was no actual pain in the Lasik process, some pressure feeling that was slightly uncomfortable, but not bad. The laser part itself was totally fine. Each eye was about a minute, so really quick. I will say there were about 2 hours after the procedure when the numbing drops wore off that were very uncomfortable. The burning and stinging is normal and for me only lasted about 2 hours. Your eyes water a lot during this time. Have plenty of kleenex handy during that time. It will pass quickly, don't worry! They aren't kidding when you want to close your eyes and rest for a few hours afterwards. Your eyes are healing. When I woke up the next day (my Lasik was late in the day) it was like HD vision. Everything was crystal clear. I highly recommend Whiting Clinic to my family and friends. I wish I did this years ago. It's really not that bad, go for it. Don't wait. 5 stars all the way!!!

LASIK was the first procedure/surgery that had picked to do myself. I have heard good and bad things about the procedure in itself and I was a bit worried about what could go wrong because its my EYES.... I am SO glad that I went to the consultation. I walked in and everyone was so nice, they made sure I felt right at home. I was a bit shocked in regards to the price but its more so because I had wishful thinking although the amount I paid was COMPLETELY worth it. The day of my LASIK I was a even more scared. The person who helped prep me for it was SUPER helpful, she got my mom in the conversation to ease my nerves. From the moment I walked into Whiting Clinic, I knew I was in good hands. The doctors and staff made sure all my questions were answered and provided me with lots of information. When I found out I would need the PRK procedure (which has a longer, more painful recovery compared to Lasik), they never once pressured me to keep my surgery appointment. Instead, they thoroughly reviewed what I could expect and again answered all my questions. The procedure itself was customized just for me, right down to the color of the lights and the music I chose to play. Dr. Whiting explained each step as he went, while a nurse counted down the seconds- I found this especially helpful. I had such a positive experience at Whiting Clinic. I'd checked out a number of local LASIK providers as part of my research but the decision to have the procedure done at Whiting Clinic made itself. The facilities are top-notch, from the lobby to the room where the procedure is done. The staff are remarkably friendly. You will be provided with clear and unambiguous information, the clinic is transparent about pricing (a bit of Googling will lead you to a discount: hint, they work with the Minnesota Wild), and they're just as good about follow-up care as they are about getting you to the day of your procedure. Just finished my 3-week post-operation exam and I have 20-15 vision. My original prescription was -4.50 and -3.75 so that's quite an improvement. Here's some general comments if you're considering Lasik: Pros: Not having lenses has been fantastic. Considering the cost of contacts and glasses and the pains of having to take them on/off every day/night and having to remember the whole kit on every trip I go on, Lasik was well worth it. The procedure itself was incredibly quick and the results were immediate. It's really crazy how fast they get it over with. Whiting clinic was also incredibly professional with what they did so I'm glad I chose them as I felt very comfortable most of the time I was in the clinic. They also are incredibly informative. They've heard just about every question in the book before so it's nice to know they are ready to answer questions and concerns. The other great thing is that they use the most state of the art technology on the planet. It's comforting knowing they're using the best there is to offer. Cons: While the procedure may be "painless" it is not the most comfortable thing in the world. During the procedure they suction an attachment onto your eye to hold it still (for good reason) and that can honestly be a little scary - however I would say don't let that be your reason for not getting Lasik since statistically there is no legitimate reason to freak out). Another thing to be aware of is that your eyes will be incredibly uncomfortable for the next few hours after your procedure. Which is why they recommend going home and taking a nap! The other downside is that your eyes will be dry and require a lot of attention for the next month or so after your procedure. While I have been relatively fine and comfortable the last several weeks, I know it is common for people to be frustrated with dry-eyes, and inconsistent vision for the couple months following (again, looking long-term this is probably not a reason to not get Lasik). Lastly, be warned that no matter what ads you may see, the procedure really isn't cheap. You are lucky if your procedure costs you less than $3,000 so expect to pay up for the procedure. Whiting versus LasikPlus: I did the free pre-lasik exams with both Whiting and LasikPlus so I could compare the two (and because I found out that LasikPlus was the only clinic my insurance would offer assistance with). On the surface it was readily apparent that Whiting clinic is a lot cleaner, more organized, and better marketed. That played a big role in how comfortable I was with getting the procedure. The other difference was the experience, to which Dr. Whiting has many more procedures behind his back than anyone at LasikPlus - another plus for Whiting (random factoid is that Dr. Whiting performed most of his procedures while working FOR LasikPlus prior to starting his own clinic). One thing that threw me off about LasikPlus was that even though they were the selected provider of my insurance company, BCBS (for which they offered 15% of the exam), my final out-of-pocket expense between Whiting and LasikPlus was suspiciously similar for either clinic. LasikPlus even admitted that they pay BCBS to be the preferred clinic. So essentially they mark up their prices anyway, and with your discount you end up paying just as much there as you would any other clinic. Kind of a sketchy way to do business if you ask me. LasikPlus was also a little more 'pushy' to schedule the exam after I went in for the pre-exam. The deciding factor ended up being a combination of my comfort level with Whiting Clinic, their level of professionalism and honesty, as well as a coupon I found online :) I won't get mush more in depth here. My honest advice? Just go in a free pre-exam and don't feel bad if you don't go through with the procedure. They are pretty non-pressured about it and they will still tell you everything you need to know. Hope this helps your decision!

I had a high prescription and got to the point where contacts were not tolerated by my eyes any further and I didn't feel glasses were a long term solution. While you’re waiting they offer you coffee, tea, cookies, etc. Everyone was so nice and informative, especially Amanda when explaining how and when to use my eye drops. You could really tell she loves what she does. Nice clean facility. Staff are very friendly and helpful. At the consultation I was given a packet of information that thoroughly answered my questions. After scheduling the procedure I had called several times with more questions and the front desk staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. The actual procedure was uncomfortable but it does not last long at all. Afterwards I was feeling nauseated and Dr. Whiting personally attended to me bringing me out to the lobby and getting me a glass of water and further talking with me to make absolutely sure I was OK. I had the bladed Lasik procedure done on both eyes yesterday by Dr. Whiting. Everything about this clinic is worth 5 stars plus more. The staff is so helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. The clinic itself seems more like a fancy hotel than a medical building. The calmness and reassurance from the staff leading up to the procedure made me feel much more at ease because I was pretty nervous. I also love that you have your own suite to wait in instead of being in the waiting room. The procedure itself is extremely fast and there was no pain. I took a mild sedative which helped calm my nerves but it isn't necessary. It felt a little uncomfortable when the suction ring was put on the eye but it only lasted a few seconds but as I said, no pain at all just slight pressure. Dr. Whiting and the nurses talked to me the entire time telling me what was happening. The song that started playing as soon as my procedure started, wasn't even over by the time the whole procedure was finished.... that's how fast it goes! I could see perfect as soon as I sat up from the procedure bed even though things were a little foggy. I went home and had slight stinging in my eyes about an hour after the surgery but I took a 3 hour nap and as soon as I woke up, all the stinging was gone! Today, my eyes are dry and my right eye is foggy but they said this is very normal. It feels very much like when your contacts are dry. I went in for my post op exam this morning and am seeing 20/20 out of both eyes. My left feels much better and is seeing 20/20 while my right eye is more dry and foggy and seeing 20/25. They said this is normal and your eyes take time to adjust over the healing time which can be up to 3-6 months. This can mean the strength in the eyes can vary for a period of time as well so one day you may see 20/20 in one eye and the next it could be 20/25. The only symptoms I'm having are feeling like I am wearing dry contacts and a little bit of fog in my right eye but the wetting drops have helped. I also see halo's from lights but this is normal as well for the first few months they said. It was a great feeling donating my glasses and throwing away my contacts yesterday! If you are thinking about having Lasik done, don't wait any longer! Whiting Clinic will make your experience very well worth it. Even though your vision may not seem "perfect" right away, it is a relief to be able to wake up and see clear and know that the healing process will make your vision even stronger in the coming weeks. I'm going to be honest here because I used google reviews to pick my place. I am 24 and have not been able to see without aid since I was six years old. I knew of LASIK for years but have not had the money to do so. The financing plan offered by the Whiting Clinic changed my life. For less than 100 dollars a month I was able to get my vision back completely. I would have given all I had to achieve this kind of sight. I was nervous initially, since people only tell you the horror stories and as a law student and kickboxing enthusiast my eyesight was my livelihood. However, I immediately felt comfortable walking into the clinic. First, the place is spotless. Cleanliness is a huge indicator of work ethic for me and this place exceeded all my expectations. The staff could tell I was nervous and did everything they could to help me make a decision. Most importantly, the staff allowed ME to make a decision. I did not feel coerced into getting a procedure, and therefore I did not just feel like a regular patient. For my age, the staff treated me with the utmost respect and patience. I went in for my consultation, and was scheduled the next day. During that time I called the clinic 5 times with questions and with each call I was received with the utmost professionalism and kindness. The morning of my procedure I was visibly nervous but each staff member I encountered did everything he or she could to help me. I also was able to meet with Dr. Whiting himself before my surgery to check in and answer any questions. It was wonderful being able to meet the person who would change my life. The procedure itself was scary experience, but all surgeries are. However, during the surgery the staff and Dr. Whiting kept telling me what was going on second by second and that helped me get through it. One of the staff members even kept a hand on my arm when I was beginning to tense up, which is an act of kindness I have not experienced before at a doctor's clinic. I was relieved to have that kind of compassion in a confusing moment. However, the procedure itself lasted under two minutes. I woke up and was able to see for the first time in my life. I was so overwhelmed with joy I cried. Even then, the staff shared my enthusiasm and did not make me feel uncomfortable for showing that emotion. The photo I attached is me the next day with absolutely no pain or discomfort ( although the smile is goofy). Most importantly, I have my sight! Yesterday was five weeks since my Lasik procedure with Dr. Whiting. The end result is amazing! I now have awesome 20/15 vision in both eyes and complete freedom from wearing glasses. Back in December I was at work and having issues with my glasses as they would always feel crooked. I went to the eye doctor to have them adjust them only to make them worse. After fourteen years of dealing with glasses not feeling comfortable and the cost of new glasses and contacts every two years I just decided out of no where to contact the Whiting Clinic. I filled out an online form from the website and about 20 minutes later I got a call to see if I wanted to come in for the free consultation. I went in and the staff was beyond helpful and friendly. I was told I was a great candidate for the procedure and so I scheduled my surgery at that time. I'll be honest I was still extremely nervous and even the morning of my procedure I thought about canceling and not going through with it. I'm really glad I followed through and didn't back out!! The procedure was absolutely painless and over so fast I still can't believe it. As a matter of fact after they did the first eye I said "Is that eye done already?" and sure enough they were prepping for the second eye. The only discomfort I felt was for about an hour after I got home and the numbing drops wore off. I laid down to take the 4-6 hour nap and for about the first hour it felt like someone was holding a ripe onion right under each eye. Before I knew it I had fallen asleep. I woke up a couple of hours later and that burning sensation was gone and I felt no discomfort. My vision was already good enough that I could see things I couldn't have before without glasses. The first week of recovery was really the hardest part of the whole experience for me. That's mostly just from the regiment of having to do all the eye drops and sleeping with the protective glasses at night. I did have a little bit of corneal haze in my left eye for about two weeks but that finally went away over time as they said it would. I did notice it took my eyes a little while in the morning to adjust and focus while working at a computer. But that was only really during the first two weeks for me. At this point I'm just using wetting drops as needed and that is becoming less and less almost daily now. The best part of this is now having better vision then I have ever had. I don't think I saw this well even when I was a kid let alone in my mid thirties. There have been a few times that I actually went to take my glasses off just to realize I don't have to worry about that anymore. I love being able to work around the house and do activities now without having to switch from glasses to contacts and back again. I know the thought of Lasik is scary. It's a tough decision when you are considering surgery on your eyes. But sometimes the best rewards in life require a little bit of risk and a leap of faith. Dr. Whiting is amazing and I can't thank him enough for giving me the freedom away from wearing glasses. I highly recommend the Whiting Clinic and their staff.

Summary: Whiting Clinic was an amazing experience from my first interaction with the front desk and every single person afterwards. I went into Whiting Clinic for a free consultation to test my thoughts that I'd be too uncomfortable to do LASIK. I'm very nervous about my eyes, but always wanted to at least ask about it. The tech I worked with, Tegan (or Teagan, not sure of spelling) was absolutely phenomenal. She was very patient with the large volume of questions, she seemed to genuinely care about my concerns and answered them all honestly. She even picked up on some of my interests to talk about so it helped me feel more at ease. Not once did I feel like they were trying to sell me on something rather than informing me of the decision I had to make. The office fielded a few phone calls of questions and even faxed my prescription eye drops to my pharmacy when I lost the paper copy from the time I had gone in. My procedure went off without a hitch, Dr. Whiting was very informative and helped me feel at ease by answering last minute questions. My entire time of surgery was under 4 minutes. I walked out 5 minutes later and could see. The majority of time (30 minutes) was a prep conversation detailing what to expect and how to manage my healing process. Again it was very informative and helpful. I'd make the same choice again 100 out of 100 times. My vision is 20/15 now and the recovery is going great. Thank you so much for everything you guys did to make my experience here a great one. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

UPDATE: Since writing this original review I have received follow up from Dr. Whiting's clinic with apologies to the lapses in my care. Admittedly I found their apologies sincere and feel that they are in earnest attempting to rectify my ophthalmological condition. At my recent appointment I met with the clinic manager, a different optometrist and Dr. Whiting himself; who all apologized and re-emphasized their dedication to my eye care. I am pleased with this closer attention to my healthcare & patient satisfaction, although still not thrilled that it took so long. There is still no significant improvement in my vision or dry eyes, but we do have a new strategy for treatment (optic drops), with the possibility of surgical adjustment in the future. Please note that I understood the potential for and do accept the side effects of this procedure, but it is the quality of care that drives my review. Given this recent change in approach to my follow up care I have increased my rating from 1/5 to 3/5, with the hopes that this trend of care continues, and that issues with dry eyes and visual acuity resolve in the near future. ORIGINAL: As a physician my perception of patient care are high and personal. I met Dr. Whiting once 5 mins before my surgery and never saw him before or after. My surgery felt rushed, was painful and left me feeling most unimportant. I have now been struggling with dry eyes & blurry vision for about 6 mths now post-op, despite regular follow up with their optometrist (who do a bulk of the patient care) . This is not the experience I had hoped for and this is not how I would treat my patients. I am really, truly disappointed.

First let me just tell you about the type of person I am. I am the type of person who needs to look up everything about any procedure. The good, the bad, the worst, the 1% of the 1% worst. I was very nervous to get Lasik. I saw so many horrible stories from people all over YouTube, Facebook, FDA, etc. People claiming Lasik is a scam, and that it's just not worth the risk. When I went in for my consultation, I was blown away by the professionalism of the staff. Everyone was nice, calming, professional, clear and caring. It was great. When I went in for my surgery 2 weeks later, they re-checked everything, answered last minute questions, and told me exactly what was going to happen. When Dr. Whiting walked into the room, you could tell that his passion for excellence and people drives his methods. He was absolutely fantastic. The whole procedure is scary. But it's only mentally scary. If you can simply move past the fear of surgery, you'll be fine, I guarantee it. They will offer you Valium or Benadryl (I took the Valium) and after 20 minutes you go into the laser room. Dr. Whiting will look at your eyes again, and then you move onto the table. The assistants will douse your eyes in numbing drops, and the procedure will begin. After a minute or two, everything is done. You'll sit up, see the clock which is crystal clear, and then you can head home. Take a 2 hour nap when you get home, and presto. Excellent vision. I haven't had any issues, and it's been 5 months. If you're considering it and are a good candidate, then do it. If you're already convinced, and "shopping around", stop immedialy and go to Dr. Whiting.

After hearing many friends, family members, and colleagues rave about Lasik eye surgery, I finally looked into it this summer. I called around and checked out numerous websites for pricing and related information, and ultimately chose Whiting Eye Clinic because, not only did they have a great reputation online, but their pricing, including lifetime corrections, was competitive with other companies and they had a summer groupon available to further reduce the cost. I had also visited Whiting Clinic before when I took my aunt in for her Lasik procedure a few years before. The initial consultation was quick, easy, and painless. I couldn't believe how kind and friendly the staff at Whiting Clinic are. My numerous questions were answered and the information video provided more information I didn't even realize I needed. There was absolutely no pressure to schedule my Lasik procedure, but I was determined to have Lasik and they happened to have one appointment available the very next day. It should also be noted that I am the world's biggest wuss when it comes to any sort of medical procedure. Generally speaking, I would opt out of absolutely anything that wasn't essential to keeping me alive; I had just had it with glasses. On the day of the procedure, I brought along a friend (as you are not able to drive yourself home afterward). You get to "customize" the Lasik room for the time during your procedure -- things like what music was playing and what color the lighting was. This was probably the hardest part of the entire experience -- I wasn't entirely sure what music I wanted. After turning that in to the front desk staff, my friend and I waited in the waiting room for a few minutes and then were brought into a smaller, private room. It wasn't until then that I realized I was a tad bit nervous about the procedure, but was able to opt for some anxiety-reducing meds and then was perfectly fine after that. After getting some drops put in, talking about post-op care, and meeting with Dr. Whiting, it was already time for the procedure. Once I entered the procedure room, Dr. Whiting checked my eyes and then I was led over to the chair. Dr. Whiting and the others in the room explained everything that was going to happen (and that had also been covered the day previously in the information video). I took a look at the clock across the room from me because others had mentioned in their review how cool it was to see that after the procedure. At this point, it was still quite blurry. I laid back, numbing drops were put in, and then the first eye was taped open. Something was then placed inside to keep it still, and then the apparatus for cutting the corneal flap was put on my eye. I felt the slightest pinch on the first eye, but there really wasn't any pain with it. It sounds like an electric hair trimmer also. One thing I wasn't expecting was for everything to go black after that. I could see two red dots and a green dot. Dr. Whiting reminded me to look at the green dot. I could hear the laser and there's a slight smell, but nothing terrible. Very quickly, the flap was put back down, and drops or some sort of liquid was placed on my eyeball. I closed that eye and they did the second one. The second one was no big deal after having done it once. Before I realized it, everything was done. It honestly felt like it had been maybe two minutes since I'd sat down in the chair. When I sat up, I could already see the clock across the room clearly! Dr. Whiting checked my eyes again and handed me some super snazzy sunglasses before leading me back out to the waiting area where my friend was. Recovery wasn't bad at all. I could see SO clearly by the time I woke up from my required nap. I was able to drive myself to my appointment the next morning. Be prepared to put in tons of eyedrops for a week afterwards and then a few drops a day for awhile after that. I just went in recently for my 3-month check up and am able to see better than 20/20. I'm so glad I took the leap and got Lasik at Whiting Clinic. 10/10 would recommend!

I never thought lasik would be an option for me, due to my high prescription. I had heard there were great advances in lasik, and had all of my friend who had it done rave about it, so i thought I would give it a try. I did extensive research. I wanted only the best to be working on my eyes, and that is what lead me to Dr. Whiting. From the second I walked into my first consultation I felt comfortable. The building is very clean and modern, yet inviting. The staff is so knowledgeable, and can answer any questions or concerns. They did a thorough check and exam, and said I would be a great candidate. I scheduled my procedure for the next week. During that week, my nerves grew, and I became very anxious. The day of my appointment, I voiced my concerns and fears, and they were so comforting, and really talked through it with me, reassured me that everyone is a little nervous, and that it would be fine. Then it was time. They got me all set up and ready, and before I had an opportunity to freak out, it was done. There was a nurse next to me, telling me what was going on the whole time, and how much longer it would be (just a matter of seconds). The entire thing was painless and easy. Today I went into my followup and am seeing perfect. I can't say enough good things about this place! Totally thrilled about everything. It is truly a miracle! I had PRK surgery about three years ago. They provide you tons of useful information and spell out exactly what the recovery is like. It’s definitely not a cake walk recovering from PRK, which has a longer recovery time than normal lasik but in the end I have 20/15 vision and never have dry eyes. Whiting is the best!

Dr. Whiting performed mono-lasik on me just a little over 10 years ago. There has not been one moment that I have regretted or have had any issues with my vision. I can see extremely clearly both far away and I can easily read my cell phone without any cheater glasses or contacts. When I first had the mono-vision procedure, I went up to Northern MN (summer time) a week afterwards. After it got dark, I looked up at the sky and I literally cried because I had NEVER seen the Milky Way as sharp and as clearly as I did then (and now) in my life - even better than seeing it on TV! I was so stunned and amazed that I stood there looking up for 2 hours! The only issue that I have is when I watch a 3D movie without making both eyes 20/20. My non-dominate eye needs to see clearly (20/20) for 3D to be effective. Again, it has been a little over 10 years for me and every single day I wake up and go to bed free of any glasses or contacts and it is all because of Dr. Whiting, his clinic, staff and that he really knows what he is doing!

Can't say enough. Dr Krassin was helpful, encouraging, careful and understanding. The staff is positive upbeat and knowledgeable. All together this was an incredible experience for something that can be a bit off putting at times. I started with 20/200 left and 20/400 right and one day after have 20/15 that will stay 20/15 or at worst level out to 20/20. That is a modern miracle of science. The procedure took about 5 minutes total for both eyes. They did everything they could to make me comfortable and talked me through the whole procedure before, during and after. Dr Krassin is the real deal. I know it's the Whiting clinic and he's the big name but Dr Krassin did a fantastic job and his support staff rocked. Thanks everyone at whiting clinic! One of the best investments I've ever made. For the first time in 16 years I can wake up and just see. Incredible.

extremely polite and helpfull staff. Laura M. did her very best to help me over the phone with the explicit knowledge that i was unlikely to become their customer due to distance. This facility offers both Lasik and PRK although it appears they have an unfortunately strong preference to do Lasik. If you do any action (contact) sports or extreme physical activity (competitively run in marathons or longer races) or spend time in Antarctica or the Arctic or in northern Alaska Lasik is a Bad Idea and PRK is a much better choice. More effort needs to be applied in screening patients away from Lasik as necessary towards PRK. PRK has a more painful recovery and requires several days taken off work but the lifetime complication rate is lower.
