Once again, my visit with Dr Tham was conducted in a professional and courteous manner. Her staff welcomed me to the office and ensured that my COVID status was checked, and initial eye checks were done in an efficient manner. There was a small wait time after them while I waited for Dr Tham, but it was not excessive and acceptable. Dr Tham reviewed my current conditions with me, examined my eyes and we discussed my ongoing treatment plan. I value Dr Tham as a physician and continue to receive excellent care from her. I have been seeing her for almost a year, and have seen a lot of improvement while under her care.

I've been a patient for Dr. Vivien Tham for over 7 years and by far she is the best, caring, and very friendly Eye Doctor to date. Every visit she checks my eyes to make sure nothing unusual happens, gives me options, and is very informative and detailed on how to take care of my eyes. Her patient waiting room is clean and comfortable, her equipment is the latest modern technology, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially Jackie, Angel, and Cora. I'm very lucky to have Dr. Vivien Tham as an eye doctor.

My experience with Dr. Tham started with a referral from an optometrist. I was told that I had cataracts and needed to have surgery to remove them and correct my eyesight. New lens for my eyes were required to correct my vision. My visit to Dr. Tham’s office was very welcoming. The staff very nice and helpful. Meeting Dr. Tham was a great experience. She was very professional and nice explaining in terms that I could understand what was happening to my eyes and what was needed to correct them. The place of surgery was clean with helpful people. Dr.Tham explained what was happening at each stage of the surgery. When I fully recovered I could not believe how great my eyesight was. I saw things that I could not see before and realized what I had missed out on. Thanks to Dr. Tham I can still see great after 5 years both near and far. Dr. Tham is a great doctor and a caring person. Dr. Tham also gives of her personal time to help others who are struggling and in need of eye care . Thank you Dr. Tham

I was referred to Dr. Vivien Tham by another Ophthalmologist because of a bad inflammation of my left eye. Dr. Tham was very professional, personable & very knowledgeable. I underwent eye tests, blood tests, an allergy test, and a chest xray so that doctor could determine my diagnosis & what kind of medications was right for me. I am so grateful to have her as my eye specialist because she's so patient with me when I have questions. I also had a vision test done to get my prescription for new glasses. Lastly, she has a friendly & very helpful staff who treats you like family. I highly recommend Dr. Tham because she's "one in a million", I'd say. My eyes feel great & appear more clear...Mahalo Dr. Tham! 😊

Upon my first visit and scare that brought me to see Dr. Tham. The staff was very warmly, Dr. Tham was more than the same. She was always honest and gave knowledge to what my warranted visit was. It was a wonderful experience. My vision is now 20/20. Colors are vivid and brightness has greatly improved. Driving at night is no longer a problem as I can see signs from a distance. My golf game has also improved because I can now stay focused on the ball while hitting, and tracking the ball in flight is a pleasure again. In fact, I’m now the ball spotter for my group. The cataract surgery was a quick procedure all done with the accuracy of a laser. There was no pain, and recovery is less than a week. For me, I was able to see clearly with 20/20 vision about 3 days after the surgery. My experience with Pacific Vision Institute was absolutely wonderful. Dr Vivien Tham will explain the entire procedure to you from beginning to recovery. Her professional staff will also assist you with the details, such as the location of the Surgery Center, payment, what to wear, etc. I highly recommend Dr Tham if you’re considering cataract surgery. You’ll be very happy with the results.

We were referred to Dr. Tham from another ophthalmologist because of her expertise in treating inflammation. She was extremely thorough in ordering a variety of tests to determine the cause of the inflammation in my husband’s eye, which was so severe that he had lost vision in that eye. We were desperate to get it back. My husband had a rare and aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and had been on several types of new treatments for the cancer. The doctors weren’t sure if the cancer had metastasized to my husband’s eye or if the inflammation had been caused by one of the treatments. From the beginning, Dr. Tham was compassionate and patient in answering our many questions and concerns. Without a doubt, she went above-and-beyond as she researched the cancer as well as treatments my husband had been on, reached out to our specialist/oncologist at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and even contacted teaching staff at the university she had attended. Dr. Tham provides excellent care. She has the latest technology in her office and her entire staff are friendly and professional. I continue to see Dr. Tham for my own ophthalmologic needs and highly recommend her.

Dr. Tham and her staff are very friendly and promptly arranged for me to come in for my emergency red eye issue on the same day I called! They sent me home with a couple of steroid drops to pick up from the pharmacy. Apparently, I was reacting to the steroid drops so had to make an emergency call to her on a Sunday. She was kind enough to take my call and sent me back to the pharmacy for two other eye drops and these eased my eye irritation immediately! I appreciate her and her staff for taking care of me when I needed their expertise most!

Dr Tham's staff is kind and attentive while performing preliminary tests and documentation that will inform Dr Tham's thorough evaluation. Even short waits in Dr Tham's office are relaxing occasions, but don't worry as they plan and schedule to optimize your time. Dr. Tham uses the most modern analysis equipment, and her new medical building is one of the nicest on Oahu.

The clinic is inside the one of the newer medical buildings. You have free 1 hour parking with a validation. The parking space is much wider than the older buildings. The office is quite open, with plenty of chairs in the waiting area. The appointment time was not short because our eyes have to be dilated for the full exam and it takes a while. The ladies in the office are very friendly and they explained the process of how the diagnostic machines that took picture of the nerves in the back of the eye worked. The picture was very cool. You can ask them to show you. Dr. Tham is very nice. She gave us her full attention, took the time to explain everything and listen to our concerns. We also brought some dry eye drops from the clinic. It was one of our best purchase. It really helps smooth out my dry eye. Overall a great experience for a doctor’s office visit. I would recommend her to my friends. Oh, remember to bring sunglasses. Everything is quite bright when your'e outside in the sun.

I have uveitis, an auto-immune disease. Dr. Tham treated the condition which results in cataracts and when it was time for the cataract surgery, she spent the time explaining the choices to me including the costs and benefits of laser vs traditional surgery & the various lenses available. Overall I am very satisfied with the outcome.

My uncle had a really bad eye infection and went to 3 or 4 different eye doctors and it was not getting any better. We took him to see Dr. Tham base on a recommendation of a family friend. She spend over two hours with my uncle going through the treatment histories. After a few weeks of treatment. My uncle eye is doing so much better. The Doctor sure knows her stuff. Dr. Tham is also a very caring and professional. You know, it is very hard to find doctors who care enough to spend the extra time explaining an old man and treating complicated cases that other doctors don't want to deal with. Highly recommend. 😊
