I had a wonderful experience with NYC retina. My optometrist referred me to NYC Retina when she discovered a tear in my retina, and they were able to schedule an appointment the very next morning. After a couple of procedures, my retina has been repaired. At all times throughout this process, I felt very well cared for, and very confident about the advice I received. Dr Feistmann explained everything clearly about the options available to me, and gave me as much of his time as I needed to make an informed decision. At all times Dr Feistmann was considerate of my concerns, taking time to address all of my questions. I had complete confidence in Dr Feistmann's ability to perform the necessary procedures, and the successful outcome is proof that my confidence was well-founded. In addition, the full team at NYC Retina were caring, thoughtful, organized, and supportive, making what would otherwise have been a very anxiety-inducing experience much more bearable. I highly recommend Dr Feistmann ! I learned I had a detached retina a week before Thanksgiving and was told to get it treated promptly. I spent a weekend scrambling to get care in advance of the holiday and was given Dr Feistmann's name by my optometrist. He returned my call on a Sunday, which was amazing by itself, and then reached out to the optometrist for photos to assess my situation. By Sunday night we had an appt booked for Tuesday, and by Tuesday evening after a thorough exam and discussion of treatment options,we were in Dr Feistmann's private operating room. Thus my retina was successfully reattached and more serious problems avoided. Dr Feistmann is an excellent, caring and patient professional and I am happy to recommend him.

I highly recommend Dr. Feistmann and the NY Retina Staff. I receive a shot in my eye every other week without pain or downtime. Dr. Feistmannf and the staff are caring and empathetic. Before being treated by Dr. Feistman, I had very painful treatment from two different doctors from very well-respected optometrist clinics. Both doctors dismissed my concerns with demeaning and condescending attitudes. I am grateful for Dr. Feistmann and the staff at NY Retina.

I am a mother of an adult son who suffers from Diabetic Macular Oedema. Due to his diabetic complications, my son was slowly losing his gift of sight. I felt devastated as a mother. Dr. Jonathan A. Feistmann, a God sent, was a referral from another doctor who my son originally saw for his cataract removal in both eyes. That doctor told my son he could not have his cataracts surgically removed because his eyes were in such poor health. When my son and I went to see Dr. Feistmann for the first time, my son had to be tested to establish where he stood with his established Diabetic Macular Oedema. I sat in on his 1st testing and was taken aback when one of the technicians held 4 fingers in front of him and asked him how many fingers was, she is holding up. My son questioned, “you’re holding fingers in front of me”? He could not see them! My son also had difficulty reading the large size letters shown on the screen. I did not know the severity of my son’s eyesight until that day. I was truly afraid for him. And if I was afraid, my son was twice as afraid. When we sat down with Dr. Feistmann, he educated my son and myself about what was Diabetic Macular Oedema. He also explained that in order to have the chance to save his eyesight he would need intensive eye injection therapy in both eyes. My son could not fathom ever allowing any doctor to inject anything into his eyes. My son said he would think about it, but time was of the essence. Dr. Feistmann did not give up. He was always available for questions, education and encouragement to help my son realize the importance of starting the therapy which he so desperately needed. To my great relief, my son finally conceded to the intensive eye injection therapy. It was all due to Dr. Feistmann’s patience and open line of communication. I watched my son developed courage and trust in Dr. Feistmann and his ability to help him. We are now at a year milestone since my son and Dr. Feistmann have traveled the good road to healthier eyes. It’s still an ongoing process but I can say with all honesty and gratitude that if it were not for Dr. Feistmann’s dedication and care, my son would not have been able to receive his first cataract removal surgery. He is now preparing to have his second cataract removal. My son’s eyes are much healthier since that first day we walked into Dr Fieistmann’s office. I give all the kudos and accolades to him. As a mother watching my son’s eyesight improve and have a better quality of life it has given me a deep respect for Dr. Feistmann and his ability as a knowledgeable doctor. I will be forever grateful but most of all I know my son feels the same way too. Dr. Feistmann comes highly recommended. He is extraordinary in his chosen profession.

If you're looking at reviews to decide on whether to go to this practice, don't even hesitate for one second to go here! Dr. Feistmann and really every single person in that office are simply the best and the nicest. I had a scary emergency retinal tear and this office fit me in last minute. Dr. Feistmann explained everything in a calm, direct manner keeping expectations realistic. I wish every doctor had this manner. The Dr. also called me back on a Sunday within 5 minutes of leaving a message with the service at the office when I was nervous about something after the laser surgery. I mean who does that?? Everyone in the office is just lovely and professional. I feel really lucky to have found NYC Retina to take care of my eyes for life.

I can’t thank Dr.Feistmann enough for the incredible surgery and care he performed on my eye! I had a retina detachment and he performed emergency surgery on the same day I saw him. He is , not only a great surgeon, but also a really straightforward caring person. He and his team have been wonderful trying to make me feel comfortable and trying to accommodate me every time … He saved my eye and I will be always grateful for what he has done! Had complications following Cataract surgery. Dr.Feistmann was recommended to me but I first saw 2 other doctors but felt most confident with Dr Feistmann. I made the right choice. Not only did he do an excellent repair but was very kind and available. Made me feel like I was not alone.He does not just come across as a doctor but also as a caring human .

Dr. Feistmann is an extraordinary medical professional. He is a skillful diagnostician and a confident snd competent surgeon. While these qualities alone would make him a terrific choice to handle a significant retina problem, what sets Dr. Feistmann apart is his unparalleled and truly unbelievable responsiveness and availability. I had a retinal tear that turned into a detachment. This was an objectively terrifying experience, as I was in actual danger of losing my vision. But I wasn’t terrified because I trusted my doctor and could text him with questions, concerns, and worries, no matter the time or day of the week. Have you ever had a doctor you could text on a Sunday evening? Having this level of communication with your doctor completely transforms the experience of going through a scary medical situation. My surgery was easy and successful and I have had no complications since. I am supremely grateful to Dr. Feistmann.
