I'm on vacation in North Carolina, from Canada. I was having severe pain in my eye 4 weeks after cataract surgery back home. They were able to fit me in the very next day after calling. Every person I dealt with was very friendly and polite. The technician was very thorough and Dr. Fritz was also thorough and knowledgable! He was able to sort out my issues and I greatly appreciated all they did for me. I absolutely would recommend them!

Just switched to this practice, it’s a relief to find one that doesn’t make you feel like you’re a number, where everyone on staff is attentive, thorough and specific in their communication. The technician I had was the best I’ve ever had, making sure to set my expectations on everything she was about to do and what I should feel. The physician I saw was excellent — also very thorough, very clear communicator, very “present” so you know she’s busy but you’re the 100% focus while she’s seeing you. I feel like I’m in very good hands.

Dr. Joseph performed corneal transplant surgery on both of my eyes with excellent results. I now see clearly. Prior to surgery I was looking through a fog all the time. The staff at Carolina Opthalmology is very attentive to their work and all of them have great personalities.

The Dr , Dr Sithi is very beautiful and smarter than Memaws moon pie ,Sheldon ! She was very thorough and so kind ! It was as if I went to Disney World and Snow White checked my eyes ! If you would like to find a medical practice where you are treated with respect, dignity and compassion from the time you walk through the door to the time you leave; please go to Carolina Ophthalmology for your Eye Care. Dr. Fritz and all of the other medical practitioners are highly skilled in their area of expertise. They also take the time to listen to their patients’ concerns. I never felt as though I was being rushed through an appointment or politely dismissed because my Doctor or his assistant were bound by a patient quota per hour. I wish that more medical practices would follow Carolina Ophthalmology’s practice model. If Other medical practices followed suit, I’m sure there would be fewer complaints and more compliments.

I saw Dr Fritz for blepharitis in January and again in Feb for a recheck. (I had an earlier follow up but I had to postpone.) Before January, I had never been there, but a friend highly recommended the office. When I called with what I thought was probably an eye infection that had been bothering me for a couple of weeks, the person scheduling got me in pretty quickly. I found them to be very pleasant and professional. Dr Fritz was very pleasant to work with and he explained everything to me in both visits. I've already made another appointment for my eye exam. I highly recommend Dr Fritz as well as the office. Even though they're short staffed due to covid, the employees at the front desk were so pleasant and smiling, you would never know that they were short staffed!

I was referred by my PC to this office because of their excellent reputation. My first visit was with Dr.Fritz. He is an expert in his field & with my glaucoma and cataract problems he has referred me to Dr. Duggan, the Glaucoma Specialist for my combo surgery. I have my appointment scheduled for July.. I have been to many Opthamologist's over the years while living in S. FL and I have to agree with my PC that these doctors are the absolute best in North Carolina.

Carolina Ophthalmology is a friendly, and very professional practice. This was my second visit, and I hope to make it my eye care home. The staff could not be more kind, and they called me back at my appointment time. I was in and out after some tests in less than an hour. While visiting family in Lake Lure I started seeing floaters. Knowing that could mean a detached retina, I immediately checked for a specialist in the area. My first call was to Carolina Ophthalmology. I explained my situation and Rita, the receptionist, immediately made me an appointment for that day, even giving me step by step driving directions. When I got to the Skyland office, I was taken right on time. Dr. Fritz did a very thorough exam and explained what happened to my eye. Nothing as bad as I was imagining, and told me it should clear up soon. Thank you all for your professionalism .
