I started researching various memory care options for my dad and quickly became overwhelmed with this important and difficult decision, especially considering COVID restrictions. I contacted Kathy and she was a joy to work with in navigating this process. She was very familiar with all the facilities and had many insights which one cannot garner from reading the marketing materials alone. Plus, she made me aware of several options which I was not aware of and had not considered. She also had quick access to any complaints filed against a home and followed up with the director to understand the nature/resolution of any issue. She put together spreadsheets comparing costs, amenities and openings. But more importantly, I really felt like I had a friend/family member helping me work through this process. Kathy spent time chatting with me to understand what we wanted for our dad who had Alzheimer's. I felt Kathy really cared about us as a family and did her best to find the options she felt fit our budget and priorities best. Working with her gave me extreme peace of mind. Sadly, my elderly father fell and broke his hip at home with an aid present and passed away before moving to the memory care facility which Kathy and I had selected. I would definitely recommend giving Kathy a call to let her assist you through the process of selecting the best residential option for you or a loved one in your senior years.

We are so thankful for Kathy Johnson at Senior Care Authority. She was so wonderful to work with. My Husband was caring for his father with dementia and we realized it was time to start looking into moving him out of his home. We had so many questions and knew nothing about the next steps. Kathy met with us and gave us so many options and talked about everything we needed to know to help with his future care. She was so caring towards our feelings and helped us find the perfect place for him. He is in such a wonderful place and so well cared. Kathy was a God-send for me and my family. After contacting her and following her guidance and knowledge of the situation, my Mom was safely moved into a care facility that is perfect for her. Kathy told me it would take a week or so to get this done and I was overwhelmed. Not knowing anything about the process, where to start let alone where to look, my stress level was definitely on high. But, as Kathy had said, at the end of the next week I had a couple of visits and was able to make a decision for my Mom. Kathy was attentive to our concerns, well versed in the options and timely in her service to me and my family. If I were to talk with any of my friends that were looking for help in their search for assisted living for a family member I would definitely recommend Kathy to help. Matt and Kathy Johnson are very knowledgeable about senior housing issues and options. Trying to find appropriate and affordable housing for seniors is daunting, but they know how to narrow down the search taking everything into account: health, personality, family support, and present and future finances. Matt helped us find an amazing place for my in-laws that included the possibility for memory care. We mostly worked with Matt, and he was so kind and enthusiastic to help with everything. I was fortunate enough to be referred to Senior Care Authority when a change in health and circumstances for both of my parents suddenly arose at the same time. I was trying to navigate finding an appropriate and safe place for them to live following a change in their health, care and needs. Kathy helped my family so much with getting my father set up at Waterford Estates in Brooklyn Park with his own apartment in the independent living side. During this pandemic it was getting harder and harder for him to do the stairs in my split level house and we kept putting it off finding him someplace perfect for him, but Kathy found the best place for him! She did almost all the research, contact, and even called whoever was needed if I had a question and couldn't call on my own. I run a home daycare out of my home and making phone calls is one of the hardest things to do with kids around. She helped me immensely with taking everything off my shoulders. I would recommend Senior Care Authority 100x over!!

Senior Care Authority in an amazing asset for finding the best senior housing for your family members that may need it. Kathy is very knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. She provided us detailed information about various places and the services that each place offers now, and also helped us think about planning for needs that will probably come up in the near future. She picked us up and took us on tours of our top choices. We ended up finding a great place for my mom and afterwards, she kept checking in to see if we needed anything. She was also able to give us additional referrals to various businesses for things that are necessary or helpful for elderly care. I would recommend you call Senior Care Authority first thing if you are helping your parents or older family members because they will save you a lot of time and provide you with great information. When I started my search I had no idea this type of service existed and I feel lucky to have met Kathy at a meeting; she definitely made this process a lot easier. She was very patient and truly wanted to help us make the best choice for our situation. Thank you, Kathy!

Kathy was very helpful in assisting our family to find a senior living option for our parents. Her initial interview with us as a family allowed plenty of time for her to hear from both mom and dad. She then let them direct the search with her support. She picked my parents up and drove them to tours. She made graphs to show comparisons between facilities. She would then gather us together to help my parents and I process. There was no pressure at all. I could tell my parents bonded with her and trusted her as she walked with us through this transition . This has been a great experience for our family.

She was available to attend care conference meetings, to write letters, to help with long-term care insurance, to coordinate communication, etc. etc. This is a service all seniors should know about and use!!
