If I could give Dr. Shawn and Nurse Kerry a million stars I would. They are both amazing beautiful people that care about the patient 100%. I called Kerry to discuss the possibility of my mom going into their home when she's discharged from the hospital. They came to the hospital to evaluate my mom. They were honest and upfront. I really appreciated that. Unfortunately my mom is not a candidate for their care home. They even discussed what options I have to proceed with my mom's care. I would highly recommend them for anyone that loves their family member. They truly care about the patient and their family.

There are no words to express the gratitude I have for the care provided to my father by the TLC family. Prior to TLC my father was in at least three "memory care units" where lots of promises were made regarding the patient centered care that would be provided and the expertise of handling any difficult behavioral problems that come with progression of altzheimer's. As a nurse practitioner I thought I had done my due diligence with researching the facilities. I was wrong. With the covid shutdown in March 2020, many of the facilities housing elderly took advantage of the fact that families could no longer check on loved ones physically and a lot of negligence occurred. My father was moved three times during this time as I tried to find the best care. What did Tender Loving Care provided that these other facilities did not?
1. As with any patient with dementia, moving them to a new facility can be very difficult. The transition can cause them to progress in the dementia and not recover. It can increase behavioral disturbances during the adjustment period. My father was already having issues with agitation when needing to have his brief changed/bathing so the staff already had their hands full when he came over. Dr. McGivney and Kerri were amazing and worked very closely with me to make changes to his medication regimen to reduce the behavioral disturbances to allow the staff to care for my father. In addition, the staff is highly trained to learn how to communicate with the resident in a way that does not increase the agitation. Once he was stable, the doctor would reassess with the goal of reducing medications as needed depending on dad's response. There is not one facility out there that I know that would spend this individualized attention with a patient. The staff is watching the resident daily and reporting back to Kerri and Dr. McGivney on medication response.
2. The staff truly got to know my father and what he liked. When they asked for the list of things he liked they actually used that information to learn how to get him to engage with the community. I would come in to visit and he would be in his "office" writing for work. He would be at the desk reading the newspaper while staff was also sitting with him engaged with acitivities. Staff found out he liked to organize and clean, they would have him helping them and encouraging him, meeting him at his level . This was the biggest differences between TLC and other institutions. My father felt safe, happy , and content here.
3. The amazing backyard/courtyard for the residents. Lots of natural light inside the house. Previous facilities promised he could freely walk outside in the locked outdoor courtyard yet at each facility I would find out from my father they were all locked and huge alarm would go off thus my Dad not wanting to go out. He loved being outside and this was the reason I had chosen those facilities !! At TLC, it was truly open and unlocked so residents could freely go outside in the backyard. This is so critical especially with the COVID shutdown that residents can get fresh air and sunshine.
4. Maintain all the COVID precautions.
5. I could go on and on with all the little things the staff did to let me know how much they cared for my father but there is n't enough space here.
Thank you TLC for everything

My mom’s last months were spent at TLCSR. She was treated with kindness and dignity. She would mention that the staff “is always checking in to see if I want or need anything.” When her dementia worsened, the staff remained thoughtful, patient, and caring. Dr. Shawn McGivney and RN Kerry were dedicated to her physical and mental well-being. This home was a blessing to us. I will be forever grateful.

When we realized that we could no longer take care of our mom without giving up our own lives, I started looking at reviews and found Tender Loving Care. The doctor went to the hospital where my mom was and talked to her and we felt their facility would be the right place for her. Little did we know how the staff there would become my mom's new family in Las Vegas, since we are all located so far away, and that they would fall in love with her and call her "Momma" and even prayed over her before she passed away. You can't buy the kind of love they gave her and how they shed tears along with us in the end. The doctor and staff went so far beyond what we expected in care and valuing what we wanted for our mom. There is no way we can ever thank them enough except to let others know that this place is a home full of love and not just a facility. Thank God for this place.

The staff at TLC was very loving to my mother while she live there. Dr. Mcgivney was able to diagnose some things with my mom that other doctors had not and moving her there increased the quality of her life for her last little while on this earth. They are very engaging and have activities that are scheduled daily and I really like that it's more of a home-like setting and they have dinner around the dinner table together and are able to interact in the kitchen while the staff Cooks, it makes it seem much more like a home instead of a hospital setting. I highly recommend this place if you have a loved one that is in need of this type of care.

Dr. Shawn is AMAZING! The doctor actually towers above ALL his peers and is a master of the nuances of elderly care. With my 85 year old aunt he patiently absorbed massive amounts of complex interrelated behavior, pinpointed issues, and succinctly suggested practical & appropriate treatment. He spends extra time and effort whereas other physicians practice minimalistic interaction which often results in hollow findings and shallow treatment plans. He has an integrated 360 degree perspective with a solid understand of business and how things work. In the elderly care space he is a shinning beacon in the sea of graft. If you seek the best care for your loved see Dr. Shawn - I HIGHLY recommend his services!

I cannot say enough good things about Tender Loving Care Senior Residence - they deserve a million stars. For the last 24 years I have been in the Army and have not been able to spend much time with my father. He has been battling Parkinson's Disease over the same time period. I recently retired to Las Vegas and wanted to move him close. From the moment I walked into this place I could tell it was special. So special I actually paid for several weeks to reserve a room until I could get my Dad to Las Vegas. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO TAKE THE BEST CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONE LOOK NO FURTHER! Words cannot express how great this place is. Dr. Sean Mcgivney MD is one of the best doctors I have ever met. Kerry Mcgivney RN is one of the best nurses I have ever met as well. The staff and caregivers are second to none. Their team had my father in the best shape and spirits I had seen him in years. Somehow they managed to get all of his bed sores healed. My Dad loved the food. As his Parkinson's progressed he became delusional but the staff was always kind and able to comfort him. This was particularly difficult with the viral pandemic. TLC did allow us to visit but made certain it was safe for the residents and staff. I really cannot say enough positive things about this place. To be honest I do not understand how they have so many staff and provide such good care for such a low price. They are truly amazing. I have nothing negative to say about this place - they are the best - once you meet Dr. Mcgivney and Nurse Mcgivney you will understand. This place is amazing. They were very supportive when my father passed away last month. Great place and even greater people. No need to look further.

Tender Loving Care Senior Residence (TLCSR) has served our family twice in the past three years. The directors (one M.D. and one R.N.) manage an exemplary residence for seniors that offers competent, continuous care to loved ones with varied conditions and needs. The directors and their staff are experienced, skillful, and patient. When my very independent aunt in her 80s needed placement in a facility, I was troubled by the choices that were available to our family. I was unable to find one that I felt could and would adequately meet her needs. I reached out to a hospice facility and was referred to Dr. McGivney. I was comforted by the pristine condition of the premises, the presence of the physician and nurse, the pleasant staff, and the content residents. I was relieved to find an opening upon her release from rehabilitation care. My aunt was comfortable and confident in their capable care. Later, my father (in his 90s) required the same living arrangements, and we were pleased that we were able to obtain a space for him thereafter. He was well-cared for, well-fed, and encouraged daily by his experience there. The directors and staff arranged for a particular chair for him that made him happy and comfortable. During the present pandemic, TLCSR instituted precautionary standards and practices that protected our loved ones from harm. My father was very close to all his caretakers, who are indeed tender and loving.

I count my lucky stars every day that I found TLC for my mother. All the caregivers at TLC are professional, kind, friendly, and capable and treat the residents with dignity and respect as if they were one of their own family members. Dr. Shawn and Kerry are outstanding. The home is beautiful and kept spotless. You can have complete confidence that your loved one will be cared for by the best team. I am SO grateful for TLC.

Dr McGiveny gave me hope when no one else would. Helped me navigate care placement for my husband.
