Tom SimsAs a former healthcare administrator I know what I am looking at and I am ready to be critical when it is called for.
But my wife’s experience (and mine) at the Marmet Center was very positive overall. The facility itself was well kept and clean. The staff, including nurses, nurse aides, therapists and office staff were friendly and caring and competent.
I know that a lot of facilities these days have staff shortages, but the people at the Marmet Center still worked to meet patient needs. Occasional delays are understandable.
The current administrator, Shawn Farley, is new to this facility. I observed him every day interacting with patients, staff, and family members like myself. He would even personally take food trays to patients. Surprised, I asked him about this and he told me he wanted the opportunity to meet and get to know every patient in his care. He said “all of them are in my care under my license.”
I was pleased with the care my wife received at the Marmet Center.

Eugene ChandlerI visited my mother at the facility this week and I was wowed by the care she was taken care of. The social worker went above and beyond to help me. The CNAs and Nurses were polite and professional and not only cared for my mother but knew my mother if that makes sense. I highly recommend this beautiful facility.
