I was in rehab for 10 months had a lot of problems but the staff and faculty help me through it. OT and PT is the best and thinks outside the box making it easier for me to get better. The nurses and LNA work really hard with the residents even though there understaffed. Some people think that they should have full-service 24\7 but it isn't a one on one 24\7 place. They do their best but you are just one of 125 . Business Dept. and Social Services are the best help me out a lot couldn't live with out them cannot thank them some much for all they did to get me home. The food was good but industrial not all people like it. I like my time there the employees i enjoyed from custodial to maintain,nursing and office workers. With out them I wouldn't be home today. A made some new friends at the same time. Thanks again

Thank goodness if I wasn’t working here, I was probably dead. It is the safest place , super professional , anti bully , anti work place violence and highly highly educated staffing and colleagues. Completely super kind and sensitive to people and students. Very generous and rich in supplies . There are no such thing as gang team here against you even if you were to make worse mistakes ! Wow. It’s phenomenon. No one ever heard of or seen. Good for them and the best wishes. Safest place for resident and employment. So safe you don’t even probably need a fire escape ever.

After reading such disparaging reviews I was quite concerned about how the stay of my sister who has many needs would be in this rehab center . Rest assured the staff from Janitor to caseworker was top notch !!!!! Doctors, Nurses, cafeteria staff, PT staff and the daily clean - lift - direct and give uplifting advice and words to the patient staff!! (You know who you are ). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ! There are always ups and downs we are not all perfect but I believe you all do the best you can in a very tough situation. Recovering from complete hip surgery at UVM Medical Center, l came to Burlington Health and Rehabilitation Center and l found the staff to be highly professional and compassionate. My mobility was understandably limited as my core and pelvic muscles were twisted from overcompensating for years with severe degenerative osteoarthritis. Within days, l was issued three physical therapists with each three scheduled visits every day ! The therapists were not only knowledgeable , but exceedingly gentle adapting the therapy protocol both with sufficient explanation and application. They supplied all needed devices in a timely fashion to supplement the therapy for me and speed recovery. I received wonderful personal attention at Burlington Health and Rehab and l had the sense that the staff at all levels not only cared about me and my recovery, but they also were completely willing to go the "second mile" to assure my complete comfort and recovery. In conclusion, l would give the Burlington Health and Rehabilitation Center the highest rating for both (1) the competence and professionalism of the staff and (2) the setting: In particular, l was impressed with the degree of knowledge and competence demonstrated whenever l was curious about the reasoning behind certain therapies or approaches to pain management. At every level, l was struck with the genuine care and professionalism shown by the staff. The setting for Burlington Health and Rehabilitation is nestled in a quiet and beautiful spot in Burlington. Rooms and hallways are kept in impeccable condition. In addition, the food is varied and delicious. It would not be an exaggeration to say the menu was comparable to a 5-star restaurant. Because recovery is dependent upon good, healthful food in a balanced diet, this additional aspect of delicious food was a bonus! If you are looking for a great place to recover from major surgery, Burlington Health and Rehabilitation is the place for you.

My sister-in-lawwas there for more than three weeks. The staff was lovely and attentive. However for rehabilitation nutritionist a factor and the food was horrendous. I had to bring much healthy supplemental food for because even after two weeks I hospital (where food was good, nutritious and sufficient) my sister-in-law lost 10 pounds which wasn’t needed in fact counter therapeutic. I experienced the meals on many occasions and they were not even warm when appropriate, stingy servings and , tasteless etc. can’t be tgat difficult to incorporate nutritional therapy along with the rest. Even many of tge staff agreed the food sucked - others just didn’t comment. Huh? Do complete rehab - much is good - nutrition fails.

My time working at Burlington Health and Rehab opened my eyes to the beauty of working in a rehab/nursing facility. You get to work with such resilient and courageous patients and residents who work so hard to strengthen and break new bounds both physically and mentally. The staff are dedicated to being creative and thoughtful when engaging with the patients/residents. From the Maintence staff’s ability to save the day and adapt to the buildings needs, to dietary’s commitment to providing individualized menus for those in the building. Administration and the Nurse Unit managers are committed to meeting the needs of those in the building and continues to strive for greatness. The admissions department’s dedication to working with the IDT team to not only manage the beds but find the most desirable arrangements for the patient/resident is such an incredible asset to the building. The Therapy department at Burlington Health and Rehab works tirelessly to help both short and long term residents meet their goals and provide support throughout the patients/residents journey. Although I may be bias with saying this as the previous social service director, the social service department truly dedicated itself to advocating for the residents/patients needs and working with those in the building and community to help achieve the patients/residents desired outcome in life. When my time came where i found I needed to move out of state, I was grateful to be in a company that was not only understanding of this, but made it so easy to transfer to another facility out of state within the company. I am so grateful to work for genesis and the time I spent working at BH&R.

To all of the dedicated staff at Burlington Health and Rehab Center, I am 83 years old. In April I broke my hip in 2 places, after my stay at the hospital I was fortunate enough to spend a month with all the members at Burlington Health and Rehab Center. I am very grateful to fall into the hands of such professional, caring and attentive workers at your facility. I was comfortable in my room during the stay. The room was routinly cleaned and the food was delicious... as good as any restaurant :) From the bottom of my heart I am so greatful for all of the workers of this organization, for their kind hearts, "golden" hands and their determination to bring each patient "back on their feet". My mother spent a little over a month at BH&R this May and June (2013). She arrived there from the hospital (FAHC) in a great deal of pain, confused and not in a good mood. She had no appetite, no interest in anything and all she wanted to do is sleep. The Superwomen at BH&R drew her out. They were so patient and gentle with my mom, nothing made them upset, they helped her with toileting, dressing, feeding, and made friends with her. It was a true pleasure to arrive at my mom's room visiting and finding her engaged in talking with the kind caregivers. She was asking them about their families, telling them about her children, nobody heard I was in the room, it was obvious that they were nice to her not because of my presence, but because they are decent and kind souls. The place was clean, comfortable, with sitting areas, nice bathing facilities, and pleasant dining areas. Because of the painkillers she had to take, my mom's appetite was awful, she didn't like any of the meals offered to her, but it wasn't the cooks' fault, everything looked quite tasty. Everyone was patient with me too. I'm ashamed to say that at first I wanted to take my mom home, she felt so miserable, but how glad I am that I was talked out of that foolish plan by one of the social workers. It was a great relief for me to know my mom was well taken care of and I could concentrate on the rest of my life during her recovery.
