Music Record Shop is an absolute gem. As someone who places orders online, their customer service is incredible. I receive communication from them regularly and when I need to contact them with questions, they reply very promptly. Their selection is wonderful. Always on top of new releases, and they have a massive selection of older albums. Their prices are great and more often than not, the lowest I can find. They're incredibly accommodating with shipping as I'm in Canada. Every employee I've interacted with has been super helpful and friendly. It's great to be able to have a store that truly appreciates you as a customer. There are lots and lots of options for you as a consumer, both physical and online, big stores and small, but I promise you that if you give Music Record Shop a spin, you won't be disappointed.

I've been ordering through Music Record Shop before I even knew it buying outer jacket sleeves off Ebay they were the best I had ever used I cant got any other way. So after not being able to find them on Ebay i remembered saving the paper just went to the site. Then before I knew it I was virtually digging. They've got some of the best selection's around If you're looking for it and cant find it honestly they might have it. The customer service is out of this world anytime I had a question they've had an answer along with being quick to responding. Along with going above and beyond to make things work! They respect an take pride in music and I love that about a nice shop such as theirs. Makes me feel like I'm going to my local shop. My first visit to MRS was when their shop was in the Grove. It has been fun to see them grow and expand their selection. The locust shop is great. It's close to a number of music venues. Close to breweries, BBQ and other great food. I always find something - or some recording always finds me when I visit MRS. My kids and I have several record stores we hit in STL. MRS has become one of our favorites. The prices are fair - and we often find deals. The staff here is friendlier than most other stores and certainly knowledgeable of a multitude of musical styles and what's happening in the local music scene. Highly recommend.

Have bought many records from this store! Always fast shipping. Love their Charity signed record program. Money from each signed record they sell is given to charity. Always great customer service. Highly recommend their inner and outer sleeves nice to be able to pick them up when I need them instead of ordering and shipping. Also recommend browsing their bargain bins, can normally find At least a few decent records for 2-4 bucks each. Some of the best jazz selection I’ve seen in STL. Customer service is also great.

Shopped in this store many times. It's a cool store with a unique selection (a pretty decent amount of horror punk titles, for example). I also picked up an autographed Bouncing Souls album, which was very cool. Even cooler, I think they have those signed/sold for charity. The staff is good, met the owner and he's great guy...recommend this store to anyone who loves vinyl

I went in looking for a pretty specific list of artists/albums and, to my surprise, they didn't have a single piece by any of them - Talking Heads, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash. There were 3 people working but none of them asked if they could help me with anything. I walked out after about 10 minutes empty handed and disappointed.

Hands down the best place in the St Louis area to buy vinyl! Great atmosphere! The staff is beyond courteous and the selection is top notch. They can special order almost anything you want if it's not in stock. There aren't many shops that stock limited color vinyl but this store takes the initiative to get those in versus the plain old black vinyl versions.There is always a good chance I find something there that piques my interest. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Hands down the best store around. Not just for their friendliness, which is first rate, they go the extra mile to help their customers. Not just for their selection of music, so many genres, and they know their stuff, so if you need help finding something they've got you covered. No these things make for a great business, but Music Record Shop elevates their game to a different level. Their always trying to make your next interaction even better, it's the personal touch turned up to 10. They also at times have live band performances, artist signings, give aways, and more. This is a business like no other, I cannot recommend them enough.

Visited this place for the first time today. They have a good selection of vinyl and a wide variety of genre. Compared to the other big vinyl shops in town, their prices are excellent on the used stuff. Used Records were in better condition than you can usually find elsewhere. Store was clean and very well organized. Employees were very friendly and helpful as well. Will definitely be going back.

Awesome music store. It is located downtown but luckily it has its own parking. I saw Sir Sly perform an acoustic set there, which was great. I love Music Record Shop! I used to buy my vinyl elsewhere but the staff, selection and awesome location has me shopping exclusively at Music Record Shop. The run specials all the time, have in store listening parties and in store performances as well. The website is great as too, very user friendly with lots of great content.

Top notch. Go here on a Sunday to park for free and peruse some of the best new and used selection in town. I found plenty of good stuff in the bargain bins, too- and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you are a record collector with $50-200 burning a hole in your pocket on a Sunday, this place is a paradise you must visit. They carry a lot of good records you don't often find outside of the internet for such a reasonable cost, too. I'll put them in the holy trinity of St. Louis music stores, along with Vintage Vinyl and Record Exchange. You needn't bother elsewhere (until you get to St. Charles).

This is one of my favorite new record stores in St. Louis. If you love hunting for vinyl, this is a great place with a great selections, plenty of gems discovered every time I go in. Been here, loved it. Only reason prices seem "high" is because the audiophile vinyls (180g) cost more. Such as the Music On Vinyl ones run $35-$40+ & then special releases typically cost more well (thank the labels for that). I come here often & will continue to do so. They have very few CDs & cassettes so do not come here thinking that's what they sell; records-only for the most part.

I have shopped at every record store in St. Louis, and I absolutely think that Music Record Shop is the best of all of them. The guys behind the counter are clearly music lovers and there's not a shred of snobbery or elitism to be found in the place. Mark, the owner, will go out of his way to find a record for you if you don't see it in the crates. They host tons of events that bring together local businesses, restaurants, breweries, and concert venues. I just can't say enough good things - this is now the only local record shop I visit.

I used to buy from them on eBay for hard to find and rare collectible vinyl... but not anymore. I about flipped when I found their little shop of gems. Gone are the days of playing guessing games with Import vinyl and Ltd Edition reissues on colored vinyl which, half of what I have bought online from other sellers would not be as described. With this place, I know what I am getting: Rare Imports most other stores don't carry; Ltd. Edition Colored Vinyl, Picture Discs, Box Sets, Rare Re-issues of great albums; and to top it off, the owners are very nice and bring a personalized, excellent customer service you don't get at the big record stores. Yesterday was my 3rd trek there since they opened, and walked out with 3 excellent LP's that, I can't find in other stores and eventually have to pay extra when I get them online. And one thing I've learned about buying Colored Vinyl LP's online - sometimes the color is regular black vinyl. You pay extra for that, too. Awesome to finally have a store like Music Record Shop nearby!

On black friday I was looking for a limited edition cassette that some stores were offering. Most of the stores were already sold out, or they just didn't know whether they had it or not. I emailed the owner asking if there were any cassettes left. He emailed me back within an hour saying that he had the cassette AND they pulled it from the shelf and put it on the side for me, I didn't even ask them to, it was all them. They were super cool about it and awesome guys. I would 100% recommend this place, they really do care about what you are looking for and take the time to make sure that you are satisfied. I can't thank them enough, I love the cassette, and I couldn't be happier with hoe everything turned out thanks to them!

The only recommendation i'd have is to bring in a little more rap/hip hop selection but this seems to be a problem for record shops as a whole... not just this shop in particular.
