Reviews of Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar

Did a quick pop-in while on family vacation in Seattle. Was warmly welcomed and invited to pull anything down from the walls to play and enter an amp room at my leisure. Love it when shops have this approach! M&M has an excellent selection and a lot of great made for Japanese Market guitars. Didn’t end up buying on my visit but certainly recommend the store based on very positive experience. Wish had a bit more time to spend in the shop but was up against a whale watch reservation.

Mike & Mikes Guitar Bar is amazing! My experience was this. We had an email exchange with Mike about my electric guitar including pictures. I am local so after being invited, I arranged a time to drop past with my guitar. Seth greeted and received the guitar, explained the process, printed the contract and I was all set to browse their wonderful shop full of electric guitar goodness. Even better, they later sold my guitar for full price and I am very satisfied with the contracted rate which they honored with no hidden fees or charges. THANK YOU MIKE & MIKE's!!!

I just ordered an 86 pj 555 from mike and mikes guitar barn and all I can say is I’m impressed! Shipping the bass came over a week earlier than it was supposed to. I also feel like the bass is in even better shape in person than the pictures. Overall I’m impressed and happy and I plan on doing more shopping with these guys soon! Thanks Mike! I’m loving my bass!

Extremely professional! Outstanding service! I purchased my vintage guitar completely online, the communication was excellent, the guitar arrived perfectly packaged with every little detail taken care of. Awesome experience!

The repair shop is the best!! Brought my 50 year old Yamaha 180 in to replace the nut and have it setup and gone through. The guitar has never sounded so good!!! Thanks for your help! I also bought a 96 Fender strat and amp that l'm more than happy with back in 2018. Awesome place 😎 …

Bought a Strat from Mike & Mike online. They took great care in packing and setting up the guitar and were an absolute pleasure to deal with as well as upfront about everything around the guitar. -- Looking forward to my next purchase from them.
Evan Snider
Great selection of high-end guitars. The workers were very nice and gave me recommendations for live music venues in the area.

I was just there accompanying my friend, yet the store was awesome. Lots of guitars I don't know anything about but sure looked incredible. The staff was nice.

Suuuuper super nice spot for guitar players, lovers, and collectors. Massive assortment of beautiful pieces, both acoustic and electric, vintage and custom shop. Awesome vibe here as well, great place to sit back and try out a couple models :)

Great experience, incredibly knowledgeable staff that are enthusiastic to share their wisdom. Walked out incredibly satisfied and honestly in a better mood than when I came in. Bought with confidence thanks to capable staff. Highly recommend whether you're local or visiting

Beautiful space to enjoy some incredibly rare and well taken care of vintage guitars. I was unable to find what i was looking for (a 3leaf audio proton, if you care to ask) but everyone was super helpful and generous with their time. A near mint ‘62 ES-335 dot is truly a sight to behold!

A dojo for the six string samurai, the sensei guided me through the axes on offer and I left with my loins girded with my newest weapon. The acolytes were high in skills and dedication to their craft,I will return each time I visit Seattle
Shopping Bag
Unbelievable selection of vintage and used and new guitars. They have different stuff every other day it seems like. Easy way to drop a lot of money. Also very friendly service, very knowledgeable, and will help with shipping if you live out of state.

Chicago here. From the initial phone contact with Matthew I knew that I would be satisfied with my purchase. He was professional and concerned about my requests. It's really difficult to purchase a $ 3000 amp just on pics and description. This amp sounds heavenly with a nice bloom in gain , no pedals needed never use them anyway.Matthew was honest and reassured me that they have a competent tech if any issues or concerns arose. Mike and Mike also emailed me. So that tells me that everyone is involved in all transactions. As far as shipping is concerned the amp was in bubble wrap tubes and footswitch also in bubble.Surrounding the amp was 1 inch styrofoam rigid panels for extra protection. These guys know how to ship amps. They enjoy their work. And they are American business men And that means a lot these days, right? After having the amp for about 2 weeks it developed a static sound took it to Victoria Amp for repair . I told Mike about this he said let us know what they find and we'll talk with Victoria. Well it needed a couple resistors and a few solder touch ups. When I informed Mike about this ,there was NO RESPONSE about reimbursing me . So I'm kinda disappointed in the after purchase issue that was really not addressed by them. So if you buy from Mike and Mikes make sure you find out what the guarantee and repair policy is !!!

My first purchase will NOT be my last!
You Guys talk-the-talk AND you walk-the-walk. You treat your customers with respect and care - and it shows. A rare and precious thing these days not often seen with on-line sellers.Thank you for doing such a great job packaging - protecting this stunning guitar as it made it's way to it's new home.

Last Saturday my daughter and son in law brought me to Mike and Mike's Guitar Bar.
I've never seen such a beautifully unique collection of guitars and amps in my life.
I felt as though I was at the Smithsonian of Guitars! I loved how they were all displayed with bio cards on each. They crew there couldn't have been nicer to us (considering my 2 year old grandson was in tow) Though I was terrified to just be holding a Martin from the 50s, I actually got to play it ! A must for all guitar enthusiasts!

Probably the nicest music shop I've ever been in. Superb and extensive collection of Fender and Gibson guitars and basses for sale under one roof. Nice selection of acoustics. The place is super cool. Lot of thought went into curating this shop.
Pirzan Turel
Had to write this review as soon as I left their shop. Exceptional guitar techs and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable! In all likelihood, the only place I'm going to trust with my guitar in the future. And as a nice bonus, it's essentially a longue where while waiting I can play guitars I'd love to buy but can't (for now)! 🤤 …

I am a professional gigging blues guitarist and instructor. Last week was my first experience in Mike and Mike's--what a beautiful, well layed out store! Jordan and the guys were extremely polite and helpful, knowledgeable and efficient.
I ended up buying a Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster and the experience was great--smooth as silk. Incredible guitar at a good price, and the staff was very accommodating.
I HIGHLY recommend Mike and Mike's to anyone who might be interested in buying, browsing,or just visiting a a fabulous place. selling or

This shop exceeds all expectations. Seth, and Jesse were absolute professionals in handling the repair of a very valuable (personally) guitar pedal with unique circuitry. Seth took my work order and was more than accommodating with my hectic schedule and explained the repair process clearly.
Once on the bench, Jesse was thoroughly informative of the steps needed and the parts required to complete the repair. Nothing was done without my authorization, which earned my trust entirely.
I had never even met this person and here he was, throwing everything he could at my pedal just to get it running again - which he did. AND CRAZY FAST!
The Guitar Bar has earned a client for life and I recommend them to anyone for both repair and sales. Thanks so much guys, you are awesome!

This place is top notch. I’ve been here quite a few times for purchases and for servicing amps, etc. Everything service wise is great. Always super quick and done really well. Their inventory is amazing and bordering on a museum for a lot of their instruments and accessories. Everyone there is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Hands down my favorite guitar shop.
Matt Rohde
These guys are hands down the best at what they do. Amazing service and professional quality repair work. They rebuilt a 1975 Fender Bronco as a present for my Uncle and it came out better than I could ever have imagined. Best guitar shop in Seattle!!
Ian McDonald
I'm extremely satisfied with my new old guitar and with Mike and Mike's Guitar Bar. I've bought two guitars from Mike's and had two others serviced, and every transaction has been awesome. I've called several times to get advice and ask questions about my purchases, and always had excellent service from a knowledgeable employee. Local pickup is super comfortable and pandemic-sensitive. I will continue to look here first for repairs or purchases in the future.
Michael Pellegrini
They always take good care of me here. I've had two amps repaired here and they always finish well ahead of schedule. The work is top quality, and prices are totally reasonable. Although I've only had amp work done here so far, I'm definitely going to bring in my vintage Les Paul sometime soon. Their inventory of vintage gear is really impressive, and the staff is always super cool and friendly. Can't really say enough about this place - easily one of my favorite guitar stores anywhere.
Andrea Volpato
One of the best vintage music stores of Seattle. Unfortunately it is really expensive to repair stuff.
Francesco Scordamaglia
I bought this 1966 Southern Jumbo a few months back at this joint. These guys know a few Luthiers, local in Seattle. They buy and sell out right or on consignment, mostly online. Love this guitar, pickit up n playit everyday. Its had a pro neck reset, fret job, and bridge work. It belts out those bluezy licks like like no other guitar. Well ballanced mids fer lead, just a unique beautifull tone. I don't need to A/B it or second guess, I will never part ways with it, don't ask. Come and see this shop when ur ready fer this kind of guitar experience. The staff is very nice, and they know what they are doing.
Sage Stevens
If you're looking for a vintage Gibson or Fender, this is your place. If you're looking for Import Fenders (CIJ), this is your place. If you're looking for the occasional oddball guitar from Japan, this can be your place. Not a shredder's delight (check out Diablo's) but they do occasionally end up with ESPs, Jacksons and Ibanez's.
Decent selection of bass guitars too!
Techs are super friendly and helpful.
Prices are reasonable. They know what they've got and what it's valued at.
Make sure to say hey to Moose the Great Dane if you stop by!
Mike Fite
I bought a guitar from these guys about 6 years ago, when they were located in a little garage under a house. Oh my gosh what an absolute treat it is watching these guys grow.
This is quite possibly THE MOST inviting guitar shop I have ever been to. Just beyond excited to share these works of art with everyone. Want to play a $10,000 Gibson? Yeah, not problem for these guys. Just beyond thrilled with these guys.
The asthetic is too notch and is just so cozy. Grab the coolest guitar on the wall, plug in to a rad amp and sit down on a sweet art deco chair and play your heart out.
Everyone was very nice and when they didn't have any gift cards, they mentioned that it was perfectly fine and they'll see me again. I just hate that this place is so far away. If you ever want to do an Oregon location, let me know!

Bought a 2003 Fender Jaguar 62 reissue from these guys. It was a lot of money and I was concerned about the "real" condition of the guitar. Well I can tell you I was not disappointed. They described this guitar exceedingly accurate-as a matter of fact the guitar was received in better condition than described and I am very very anal about my guitars. I live in Orlando and I was concerned about shipping it across the US but these guys did one outstanding job ensuring it was packed well. I would without a doubt do business with them again. A++++ for professionalism, honesty, and integrity.

Absolute legends run this store absolute legends!
I’d been trying to buy a specific guitar for a couple of years and I’d been runaround by other guitar stores that took my money but did not send the item. I found Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar on google and their reviews were much better than any others I’d seen after two years of searching through sites worldwide, so it tipped me over the edge to splurge and send my money overseas for the guitar. The guitar arrived ahead of time and in the perfect condition that it was described. I couldn’t be any happier with the service I received. Mike was fantastic in informing me about what was happening with the guitar.
I would strongly recommend checking these guys out if you’re in the market for a great guitar and great service!
These guys have mad my life that much better I cannot believe I finally got this guitar!
Wallace Brown
Took in my new Squier jaguar for a set up which it really needed. Decided to take it here as this place is known to handle offsets well. Over the years I’ve used many shops for setups and feel I got my money’s worth about half the time. Once I plugged in the jaguar after I got it back I was completely blown away by how well it plays. So very happy with it and it’s incredible what a proper setup can do. Some real joy.
Teralie Kimes
I was absolutely blown away when my husband and I walked in. The selection of high end and classic guitars is amazing! Mike and Mikes makes guitar center look like Kmart! Of you are looking for that special guitar, then you have found your place right here! The guys are super friendly and knowledgeable! We highly recommend you coming here for your next Guitar!
Gray Sutherland
I can’t say enough good things about this place. I had a bunch of guitars that needed work, and now they all play fantastically. Really friendly guys here, but perhaps importantly, they are really serious about taking care of your instruments. I currently have no intention of using any other techs to work on my guitars.
Patrick Flood
Haven't even seen their showroom since my first experience has been during this lockdown madness. I've gotten a guitar and an amp serviced, and I couldn't be happier. Great service, turnaround time, friendly communication, big thumbs up!! Rock on...
Brennan Hussey
Excellent service. The guitar I purchased on-line was exactly as represented. I felt like I got a good deal on the price. I worked with both Mike and Jordon and both were terrific.
Nathan R.
Wow, a guitar haven of awesoness and an assortment of classic guitars. The workers are extremely nice and helpful. Play any guitar you want to play!!!

I'm so happy that I bought a guitar from Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar in Seattle. Just received my 2006 Gibson Les Paul Custom "Black Beauty" . It was exactly as they advertised it to be ,and the layers of Bubble wrap protected it on the Fed Ex journey . Can't thank you guys enough for the excellent buying experience !

Great folks. Great guitars. Great setups. Great shop. Always walk away feeling confident my gear is ticking like a clock.

The guys at Mike & Mike's are super. I had a stubborn problem on my Jaguar and they were patient and good-humored about it when I brought it back a couple of times. The set-up they did on my Jaguar is AWESOME. They installed Mastery bridges on both my Jaguar and Jazzmaster, and those are such a huge improvement over the stock bridges. The guys are a great source of information. And they aren't just snobby vintage guys. They provided really helpful advice to a buddy of mine who wanted to buy his daughter a starter level Telecaster.

I'm new to guitar playing and took my classical here to get it restrung. Mike was nice enough to take me into the shop and show me how it's done. Speedy service and a lovely staff. Highly recommended for all guitar needs.
Gordy B
Very informative staff. They have always been able to help me.
They have a surprising selection of hard to find guitars They do repairs and they'll even help you sell your old guitar if it's in good condition.
Willie Deuel
Mike and Mike's is a guitar player's dream. If you can't find something to love here, you're not looking. Staff is friendly and helpful. I love this place.
Chris Kaufman
Bought a guitar on e-bay that is just fantastic, and extremely well set-up and fairly priced. Love the guitar and the faithful description, which made it sound as good as the used SG w/Wolfetone re-wound pickups is. Got me reading their blog as well. Great transaction and looks like a great shop.
RockNRoller
I got to tell you all these guys are great. If I lived in Seattle I'd probably be in the shop a couple of times a week to see what's new or just to play, drool and torture. I recently got an all-original 1987 Gibson ES335 Blonde Dot Reissue w/Tim Shaw pups and as perfect as it looked in the pics, it was just seemed flawless in my hands, like it was cradled whenever it was out of the case.
Nary a mark or even a string mark on the headstock (which looks new with little or no aging on the logo) and it doesn't even have pick marks on the finish (what a score) and no wear on the back of the neck). Not an unplayed case queen, it shows some fret wear with lots of rmeat for re-crowning if I choose to later on which this tells me that the original owner did pull it out and play it, but I'm guessing he never let another soul touch it - great for me (I'll do the same)! Also not a single dead spot on the fingerboard and surprisingly good original tuners. I love this guitar and it's part of a large Gibson family now and those pickups sound indescribably great, actually better than any of my patent sticker T Tops if you can dig that...
Also I want to point out how nice they were on the phone and after some negotiating on my part they were able to make me a deal I couldn't refuse and also obliged on my special shipping and delivery instructions to here in Memphis. It was very well packed in the original case and had some temporary cushioning inside the case to ensure it didn't move around in there and plenty of bubble-wrap in all the right places.
To go a step further I would like to point out that they went out of their way to follow up on the purchase to make sure I was completely satisfied. Also pointing out that the set-up was pretty spot on and although I always tweak my own setups to taste, I won't on this one until I change the strings. I still need to call them back and let them know how much me and my brother, Jeff, love it. We've both been playing since the 70s and know out sh**. I've been looking at their stuff for quite a while now and will continue to do so. Thanks 'Mom and Pop' from my and my brother (the actual owner)!!!
Michael Hutchins
Stopped by to pick up a couple pieces of hardware for a custom build I'm working on. Great service, awesome selection of vintage dream guitars (Jags and Jazzmasters especially) and parts.
Brett McCormick
Super friendly and helpful people that work there. They have an amazing collection of vintage guitars and amps. I'm definitely going back!
David Delmar
Sold a vintage Gretsch on consignment here. These guys are so knowledgeable both on the instruments and the marketplace. Experience could not have gone better. I would be totally confident buying and selling other instruments here.
Thomas Broughton
I wish I lived in Seattle so I could waltz into their shop - instead I purchased an amp from these guys on Reverb . C o m and they came through big time. It's obvious they take pride in the equipment that they sell and aren't just trying to turn stuff - they know their sh&$! I will be doing business again with them soon enough!
Connor O'Brien
In the last couple of months, Ben set up my beloved '80s Telecaster I've been playing for nearly 30 of my 40 years and it's maybe the sweetest setup I've ever had. Just as importantly, I've picked up two guitars from them: I was lucky to grab a 1981 Greco LP Black Beauty that is just such a beautiful axe I'm jealous of myself for getting to play it- when I hit the distortion and instant Mick Jones of The Clash vibes came, I knew I had to have it. The other axe is a '90s Fernandes Strat that was super affordable, has a neck that just cruises, and has become my favorite couch-jammer. Look: I've never quite felt at home in guitar stores because as much as I truly love all the awesome guitar heroes of the world, I come more from the punk and post-punk school of guitar playing, and I've always felt uncomfortable walking into a place trying to get comfortable playing my chordal riffs to test out an instrument while some dude tries to show off by erupting "Eruption" 20 feet away at full-volume, getting the notes but totally missing the point. The staff at Mike & Mike's couldn't be more casually helpful, and no hard sales pitch- when I said I wanted Gibson vibes in a certain price range, they made several great suggestions, didn't try to upsell me, and I walked away with a great axe. They keep it very approachable, it's a super well-curated selection, they're very honest and descriptive about the condition of their stock (I've stalked guitars out on Reverb and then gone in to look at them), and it's clear they just love really beautiful "player's" guitars at every price point- there's hardly an instrument I've strummed here that I didn't wish I could take home. I've stood behind a bar for most of 2 decades and I feel like they've nailed a kind of stylized neighborhood bar vibe with the mid-century living room set-up, so I appreciate the name as well. I pretty much can't heap enough praise on what y'all are doing, and I look forward to spending my disposable income with ya!
