I love this shop! It’s pretty big and has a huge variety of movies, snacks, Knick knacks, games and friendly workers! Joe helped me find every movie with EASE and was super helpful finding the many movies I wanted. He even checked each one to make sure they weren’t scratched and even buffed them to ensure they would be perfect! I used to go to Zia’s but this shop is way more organized, the staff was way more friendly and actually knew where stuff was and it was cheaper. THEY EVEN HAVE RENTALS AVAILABLE FOR A DOLLAR. Seriously awesome experience, will be back!

It was bigger and better than I thought. With a video game shop connected to it there was plenty to choose from. There's collectable cards(Pokémon, etc.), toys (figurines). I even saw Hot Wheels from when I was a kid. CD's, DVD/Blu-ray, and I even seen 8-tracks. The video game side has most of all the old game systems as well. So if you're looking for some place vintage that you can also amaze your kids, this is a good choice.

If you’re interested in old movies and tv this is your spot. Everything from DVD, VHS,CDs video games, collectible toys it’s a good place to take your date. If I could add one thing is seats, there’s not a sitting spot in the whole place so if you are with someone who loves movies. Be prepared to stand the whole time. I do really enjoy the house of used movies!! I think you’re going to love it also.

I love this place. One of the only places that you can still rent videos. Tons of old and interesting nick-nacks that illicit feelings of nostalgia. Has an awesome video game section where I've personally got a few rare finds. Also, the owner Joe is super chill.

OMG video rental store do still exist!!! love this shop if they do not have the movie ur looking for he can order it. they have record, DVD, vhs, blue-ray, 4k movies/ tv shows, games and game systems, funko pop, and more. Want to watch a movie before you buy np u can rent it from him! owner is old school, staff is very friendly. when my friends come to visit from different states i always take them here and they love it! its a must check out!

Used to only come by every few months, but lately, HoU is one of the very few shops to carry new vinyl for old school rap. Picked up plenty of new albums over the past few visits, which have increased dramatically. Prices are decent and love to hit up the other movies, games, and pop culture items available. Keep bringing that 80s and 90s rap into the shop!

A friend took me here a couple of days ago and I was super impressed with the selection and prices. I purchased 4 DVDs and 7 CD for around $36. Then looked at the receipt when I got home to find out that two movies were rung up incorrectly and I had overpaid by $7. I'll shop here again but will watch the charges carefully.

Can't beat their sales, and if you've got something sitting around, bring it in, you might turn it into something new for you!

This store is so awesome! They have most every kind audio and video entertainment that I can think of (DVDs, VHS tapes, cassettes, 8- track, vinyl, and video games), a huge selection, and great prices! The store is big, and has fun decorations. The staff is friendly even though they were clearly fairly busy the day of our visit. Definitely worth a visit even if you don't live nearby.

This is the best place to sell your games or even trade, they give you a fair price for your games. The staff is amazing and know the store very well. They also have a great selection of video games and systems, cds, DVDs, blue rays, toys, etc.

Excellent selection. I live on the West side of the Valley so I had never been here before. I found a game that goes with a rare guitar controller (that I found at Goodwill) and a DVD movie that I had been searching everywhere for. Only spent about 6 bucks. The prices are amazing. Definitely recommend!

I was like a kid in a candy store got so much stuff that I could have maybe acquired online but it was all there and you don't have to order from several sources and they give you buy 3 get one free on everything in the store! I saved 60 dollars! And got awesome stuff I would not have found anywhere else! If I could give it 6 stars I would!

Really enjoyed shopping here. Lots of nostalgia and everyone is super friendly. I have to put a small buyer beware: the console prices are higher than retail. The special edition switch I just got for $300 is being sold for $350+ there. I understand the store needs to make a profit, but everyone should know what they should pay before buying :) 4 stars because it's above average and a great place to go.

This used entertainment store, setup in an old rental shop, is a bit of a time machine in all the best ways! As someone who ran many movie stores in my previous life, I adored my visit to this store. The used DVD's and Blu-rays are clean, presented well, and meticulously organized. They also offer a good deal of semi-vintage collectibles and toys throughout. You can find CD's, a large vinyl record assortment, and an entire side room filled with used video games and accessories. Bringing my son here was a unique way to show him what it was like when we all went to the local store and rented movies a couple of times a week. And if you want, they will actually rent you movies from their stock as well!! My only issue with the store were the prices. As everything I saw was used, the prices were about what I would expect to see as new stock on a really good online sale. The overstock tables are a big exception here, and there are lots of hot deals to be found on those. Either way, shop around, fill some holes in your collection, and be sure to support this awesome local business!

Update to my review before: staff has been a lot more friendly and helpful last few times I’ve been there. Prices are still iffy at times but I’ve actually found some really good deals. Changed m my rating to a solid 4 from a 3. This place used to be okay. Couple reasons why I’m leaving 3 stars. I’d leave 2.5 if I could though. Their inventory is just EVERYWHERE. Physically everywhere. Which I know some people won’t mind and usually I don’t, cause sometimes that means I can do some digging and find some gold, but I’m less inclined to dig due to the next reason. Their prices are pretty high on certain things. Saw a couple video games I’d been shopping around for, they wanted over $80 for one, when I can find (and did in fact buy) it off eBay for $45 (sold comps are anywhere from $45-65) Can’t say that’s the case for all of their stuff, just an observation of a few things I had been looking for and had done my research on prices for those things. Staff isn’t too friendly. Kinda stand off ish. I think all those things combined won’t stop me from coming in, but definitely not my first stop if looking for anything movies, music or games. The Z place or man with books would be a better first bet as customer service and prices are typically better there than here.

If you don't have cable like me then this place is the perfect place to go, they have just about every movie you can think of and if they don't have what your looking for they will order it for you and call you when it arrives. This store will sell you digital codes that are expired, won't return them and doesn't remove them from the shelf even if they know that they are expired this one was 2019 and he said "they still work" funny last time it didn't so.... Kinda rude staff, no masks and EVERYONE was sneezing. I love this store but will be wary in all future purchases. I won't be ripped off twice.

Fantastic store for new and used vinyl, used CD's, cassettes, video games, movies, and a host of other collectibles. I mostly check out the CD's, cassettes, and video games. I've gotten a few video games, a number of reasonable priced used CD's and some cassettes. The CD's are all in good condition and just in case they happily buff CD's for free if there are some scratches. The video game section is also fantastic. I can be a nerd for old sports games and they have a section of old sports games for $1 a piece. Great stuff. I love stopping by to add to my music and video game collection when I'm in the area. The owner and employees are also very friendly. Thanks!

My all time favorite movie store. Great prices. Great employees. We had a miscommunication renting a movie and got charger the full price. The manager was very respectful and took care of the problem immediately. Highly recommend. Wont go anywhere else.

This place is awesome! Takes me back to being a kid.. The 1 dollar rentals are a really good deal. Not only do they rent brand new games and movies they also have a wide variety of cds vinyls toys etc.. Found a dope poster of Michael Jordan for only 10 bucks! Would recommend this place to anyone. If you haven't been you need to go!

The staff here is always great. I love that they have the "Buy 3, get the 4th free on everything" deal. They don't always have the best selection of used records and I don't know how well they check them before they put them out for sale. That's the only reason they don't get 5 stars. I frequent the place often and will continue to do so. Dig long enough and you'll find a gem or two.

The employees here are very nice and friendly, certainly a pleasure to deal with. I found it hard to get a good deal on non-movie/music items when buying just one. They want you buying multiple items, and the "get one free" is where they build in the discount. Items on the wall and in the displays (e.g. action figures, collectibles) are not very well organized, so if you are looking for a specific interest you'll have to search the entire store. All that being said, I gave four stars for the overall experience, and plan on going back!

My son and I go here for ALL our video game needs. Anything from Atari to XBox One! Great selection and great prices. The staff is always helpful and friendly. You can rent or buy which is pretty rare these days. This place is by far one of my favorite places and I secretly love to come without my children too!

This store is awesome. Everything is neatly organized and alphabetized. The staff is really helpful and courteous. I purchased a box set TV shows. The young lady behind the counter inspected every DVD case to ensure that the DVD was inside. Upon inspection, one dvd was missing and she replaced it immediately. This is professionalism I will continue to do my business here.

Amazing used movies, music, games, memorabilia, 8 tracks, old nostalgic and new movies. Such friendly service with a few locations. You can rent things for 1$ a day or buy them if you like it. They offered to order in any item I want, and helped me purchase 4 very old comic books from the 80s for under 25$. Hard to find items AND new movies music and games... they have a constant customer in me.

This is a great place to look for gifts for anyone! They have a lot of older misc toys, music, movies, board games, pops, and much more. Trish is absolutely awesome! She is currently helping me fix a save issue on a game I bought elsewhere. I think that is really cool! If your lucky you can catch her wearing her elf ears! So I come here all the time with my son, love this place usually. The last two times have been kind of irritating though. The first time was just bad customer service but that’s whatever. This time though the two employees at the cashier area weren’t wearing any masks whatsoever. It’s just irresponsible and rude. We have to wear ours as customers for their health so why aren’t they doing the same? Still love the store & items inside I just don’t appreciate the lack of respect for others health.

Huge selection of CD, DVD, blue ray, vinyl, and games. From retro to current of eveything, card games and so much more you could get lost in here with all the have. I did doc a star due to pricing some of the prices are amazing, but some are not so enticing since some major stores are selling some movies for example at half the price they ask for here. Other than that this is an amazing place to visit and find your next nights adventure.

The House of Used Movie and Games is convient location easily seen from the road. I go in looking for movies that are not well known by the public and 8 out of ten times they have had it. If not then are willing to order it. Customer service is very good. Always greeted with a smile. More than willing to help find what looking for. Never felt like I had to wait very long in line. Like the fact that you can get something that just became available on DVD the same week it comes out and you pay a just a dollar for the day. If you get that same movie on Saturday you rent for 2 days for just a dollar. Since I discovered this place I have recommend it to friends and they have never been dissatisfied.

I'd never even heard of this place until this week. I went here for vinyl, so I was a little disappointed. They had a decent selection of older used vinyls. Not much recent used albums. Nonetheless I did end up finding a few. I looked around at the movies real quick, they had a pretty good selection and a decent amount of games. Nice place but I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

I've been coming here for a few years now, I'll pop in occasionally and most of the time I will find something that I've been looking for that I couldn't find elsewhere. Almost always I'll leave with a purchase that's how often I find something I want here. The horror collection is where I usually flock to as soon as I come in, then the games. Good selection and better prices than alot of other stores that are similar. I'll come here over Bookman's any day. I've never had a issue with returns, or the quality of the merchandise I've bought but to avoid any issue or get mad and put out a bad review people should just check the quality of the discs before walking out, to make sure it's up to your personal standards, it's not that hard. Overall I've always recommended The House Of Used to people.

There are countless vintage nerd regalia and old movies. They have a good selection of vintage game consoles. They do not have a lot of switch games. The switch games they do have are marked down only a couple of dollars. They have dirt cheap game rentals though. Would definitely visit again.

Nice store. I bought a ps4 controller and the left stick has drift. I have no doubt they would have provided service, but I was from out of town. It was Limited edition star wars controller and they should test their stuff before selling it. I tested it on a computer when I got home easily enough. I had to replace the axis resistors on the analog stick to fix it, and I think for that, I should have paid a lower price. Really cool store though.

Love the idea of bringing back the movie rental store. They also have music (cd's, vinyl album's) for sale at a reasonable price and you can purchase or rent the movies reasonably also. The staff are reallly great and friendly. They could have a better system with which to find what you are looking for though.

Very good for renting games & movies - only a dollar a day. And if you decide you want to buy the game or movie, you don't have to go back to the store - your card is charged the cost of the game/movie. They have a pretty good variety also.

Wow this place is cool! I have always been a fan of pawn shops and "trading" stores. I was born in the 90s and I love all the pop culture from the 80s and 90s. This place is the embodiment of that culture and to top it all off they have customer service that goes above and beyond. They saved me from paying extra money on a device I didnt acrually need, and they gave me several recommendations for service repairs and related items. I also got to meet the owner whis name is Joe. He is a very friendly and hardworking man whom despite being very busy, he was very helpful and met all my needs as a customer. This is my first experience at this store I am already loyal to The House of Used. I consider the service and atmosphere far better than one if their larger competitors(Zia Records). If you like things like older video games, records, posters, and collectibles than this is the place for you.

They have a good selection but there's no way I can give it 5 stars just because the music is so loud. It's not just too loud. It's ear ringing, splitting headache loud. And it's not even good music. It's lame music like Styx and Foreigner. That and they aren't open on Sundays.

I've only been there to sell DVDs but, they are the only ones so far to actual pay out fair prices for movies. I travel from West phoenix whenever I have music or movies to sell. A fabulous selection vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs along with gaming collectibles and accessories for many different gaming platforms. You can rent movies or purchase just about any title you can come up with. If they do not have it in stock they will find it for you with prices that can't be beat. If you have a hard to find item on your list this is the place to visit. Helpful and courteous staff are available to assist you in any way possible. The variety of items they carry in stock is mind-boggling and much too vast to be listed here. I can only recommend you go visit them and be blown away by the treasures you will find.

Great! I went here once a few months ago to look for a specific Pokémon card being sure to find it since it wasn't that rare of a card and my friend got one from there. After she recommended me I drove for over an hour and a half to get there and they didn't even have it after spending 20 minutes looking through them all. Charming place selling (and renting most things; for a dollar a day!) movies, music in all formats, video games, and misc games and collectibles. Staff is usually very friendly and pleasant. The merchandise is sometimes a little pricy for used materials but they have sales all the time. I was a longtime Zia fan, but THOU has a certain passion-project heart to it that won me over quickly. Since I have lived nearby, my family visited regularly, sometimes with intent and sometimes just to browse, and it’s always been something to look forward to.

First of all the owner is very cool he carries a variety of movies that are hard to find or you can't find on Netflix or Hulu. Plus they have a lot of other things like vinyl records, lunch boxes and other random things that are just kind of cool. also you can rent a movie whether it's an entire season box set or a single movie for a dollar at night. And if you don't return it then you own it for the price that the movie was, not a bad deal. It is just a fun place to visit.

Meh. There is no doubt a lot of inventory however it's bland. This shop is hit or miss. If you compare it to its Arizona rivals it's not much of a competition. Zia or Bookmans have a better inventory. I do think the staff at House of Used are nicer than Zia & Bookmans staff. The owner works in the store which is a nice touch. You can rent from these guys too. I'd rather rent from a shop than a machine inside a Walmart any day. This store isn't new but it is still young. I am excited to see what it develops into over the years.
