The service is excellent, and the inventory is impressive! I came to buy an electric guitar for my young son, and the store had everything we needed for a young musician. I liked how customers can try playing the instruments with the amps too. I would definitely come back again!

I'd never heard of Sam Ash, apparently they're from the east coast. 2 steps inside - they already had guitar center beaten. They have everything you need. Piano, keyboard, brass, woodwind, drum, harmonica, recording, the list goes on. All staff were polite, knowledgeable, helpful, and made it a point NOT to senselessly bombard you while you look and shop. Oh, their acoustic room is humidified and triple the size of the competition. 20 years I've been playing I'd never gotten my hands on a Gibson Hummingbird. It was such a pleasure I made sure buddy got a picture of me with it. Sam Ash is now my only place for referral. If you want a quality experience, quality well-trained staff, and merchandise of the highest quality-- Sam Ash. You made a customer for life.

I wanted to get my 1996 Fender Precision bass set up and decided to try Sam Ash after researching the luthier options available in Phoenix. Michael came through in just over one day and made my bass perfect. I will look to them for all my other guitars going forward.

I went to couple of other music stores before going to Sam Ash in the valley and my experience was non-comparable. Almost no one even greeted my when I entered the other stores. Guitar tech Michael was absolutely fantastic! Super friendly even after I kidnapped him for a long time. Helped me to figure out everything and even more! I visited dozens of music stores all around the world so far and Michael was the absolute best so far! I purchased an electric guitar, amplifier, pedal and a hard guitar case. Today is May 14, 2022, I walk in just looking too get information on my banjo and was recommended to Michael in the back with repairs. The guy is beyond awesome, he not only helped me. He gave me great advice and he knew his stuff. He didn't charge ne, though I would have been more then willing to pay him for his time. Also I left out of there with a nice beautiful Hardcase, strap, and some picks. Awesome store, great atmosphere. Definitely worth highly recommend going here.

Walked around but personal conversations were more important Drove by and stopped at Sam Ash. I was sincerely welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. OMG, I love this place. First-time customer. I went there to find a replacement for my 1950's Marathon soprano ukulele which is in bad shape. Now mind you, I only know about three chords, so am not a proficient player, but am very sentimental about my uke. After confirming the diagnosis on my old uke, Michael showed me to the room with all the ukuleles in stock where I could “try them on for size”; I held, tuned and strummed all the soprano ukes there. Michael then patiently and professionally tuned and played my various choices, comparing, and I decided the Lanikai had the best voice for me. Michael certainly demonstrated why he has so many rave reviews – thank you! Rob efficiently checked out my purchase, and I was on my way out. But stopped by to play a REMO 14” Djembe – gorgeous sound; maybe later.

The staff are so helpful and patient and the prices are the best in Arizona. We also went to their Customer Appreciation Day and it was fantastic!! Cynthia Brown greeted me with a true friendly positive manner and, within minutes, had my hard to get component looked up and ordered! Having already run into dead ends or overpriced components online, it was a great relief for me! She let me ramble on talking and she answered any other questions I had! She was also helping my wife with her own questions! The store is set up with nice, playable displays, and everybody was friendly! Great to see the showroom filling up again with lots of gear! Sad to see the turnover in employees. Hope some day the pandemic will be in our rear view mirror and Sam Ash can get back to taking care of employees like they did before the pandemic. Tenure of workers is critical to the long term success of any business, but with a business like Sam Ash, it’s relationships that keep people coming back to you and not the competition. Losing over fifty years of experience and tenure in such a short time period is catastrophic to any single entity. (Let’s hope for a quick end to this awful pandemic!) Way better than Guitar Center for 3 reasons: First, they don't lock up the "higher end" guitars. It's a wonderful experience to be in a trusting environment and NOT have to hunt down a person to ask permission every time. I understand that GC does this due to theft, but why punish the customer? Second, their customer service is helpful yet unobtrusive. Jesus at their Phoenix store was amazing because he answered questions when we needed answers and left us alone to try the guitars. Third, their selection of acoustics was much better than GC's (and the environment was comfortable and relaxed). It was such a great experience that I walked out with a new Taylor yesterday!

Checked out some guitars and amps... played on two guitars and amps. I prefer Fender Strats but the price is enough to scare one away... far away. I couldn't find what I was looking for as far as amplifiers go, but then again I wasn't asked if i needed help with anything...kinda left to wander around like a tourist LOL.. so I went to the other side of the store to check out PA systems, mics and stuff and again found myself wandering around wondering who was going to offer some assistance...didn't happen. Mike in repairs TOTALLY hooked it up! He adjusted the truss rod on my Fender Jazz Bass, levelled some of my frets, got my action just right, cleaned up the fretboard, restrung and intonated it. Turnaround time was fast! All the work was great, done quickly, and to my amazement it was affordable! I just ordered a new pickup for my other bass. Going to have it installed at Sam Ash. If you need any work done to your guitar or bass I highly recommend Mike.

Art, the manager of the Glendale store, is wonderful, and he really knows the Taylor guitar line. Turns out that Robert Taylor himself went to this store and set up an entire wall of his instruments there. Check it out if you love Taylor guitars like I do; this is my third one. I would give it a 3.5 star rating - partly due to the pandemic. Pleasant sales people offered to assist if I needed it. (That's nice, even if I didn't need the help right then). The store was clean. The store was also very light on product inventory (due to the current state of EVERYTHING) - which is understandable, but still disappointing. I would like to be able to SEE and TRY OUT more guitars and basses in person than they have in store available - rather than just order it online and hope it's what I like (and maybe have to RETURN IT). perhaps one day again, that will be possible.

I went to Sam Ash to trade my like new Fender Twin Tone Master for a new Fender Blues Deluxe. The sales guy was very friendly and helpful. He unboxed the Blues Deluxe and set me up to play it. I knew in 2 minutes it was what I wanted. We agreed upon a price and that I would return at noon the next day with my trade in to complete the deal. He said he was off the next day but would leave all the info with another guy. I arrived at the agreed upon time and they said I should talk to Mr. Rodrigez. Another very nice sales person. For some reason he knew nothing about the deal and had to call the sales guy at home. I should have had the deal all printed out and signed so I wouldn’t have had to wait for 45 minutes. Very poor communication. I am 75 years old and can only look around for so long. I am not upset with Sam Ash for the poor communication. They will be my go to store from this point on instead of Guitar Center for many reasons which I will not enumerate. They always give better trade in deals which you can tell because they always have more used equipment on hand. Secondly, they made a deal with me sight unseen. Of course my Tone Master was like new. Guitar Center wouldn’t even talk to me or give me an idea what they could do. So I love my new amp. Thanks to Sam Ash for making me a happy guitarist.

We stayed there for over an hour trying out different guitars and making our decision. He was very helpful and patient with us, and was not pressuring us to buy at all. I was looking for a fake book I wanted replaced. They didn't have it but ordered it for me and it showed up on my doorstep like 3 days later. I also went in there one time to get my bass electric bass looked at because it was making a crackling sound. The repair guy took something on it apart, put it properly back together. When I asked him what I owed, he said it just needed a part tightened; not to worry about it. I thanked him and slipped him a $5 and told him, well let me buy you a drink. I've only had good experiences at Sam Ashe.

I took my acoustic guitar to the Phoenix Sam Ash store to have the strings replaced. I also have an electric guitar that I had purchased used from a private party. It wasn’t quite right so I spoke with Michael Strenn, Senior Department Manager about the issues I was having with it. I returned home and received a call that my acoustic guitar was ready to pick up! Wow! I didn’t expect such a quick turnaround! Before leaving the house to pick up my acoustic guitar I tried to make the adjustments on my electric guitar that Michael had suggested. I was running out of time to get back to the store before they closed. Long story, short I asked Michael if I was making the adjustments correctly and he confirmed that I was. I had the electric guitar with me so he took a few minutes to look at what I was doing. He said I nearly had it and he made a few professional tweaks to finish my job. My Fender Squire sounds great now! Thanks Michael for taking a few minutes to help me out and explaining what you were doing and why. My guitar sounds great and I learned a lot about it. You have a customer for life.

This was my first time there. My wife had previously been there to purchase a power supply for my keyboard. And she was excited to take me there to look around. All we needed was a headphone jack adapter which was easy to find. I thought the store would of been bigger from the way my wife described it. But the store was awesome except when we found what we had came there for and wanted to pay. No one was available to help us. There was an employee on the phone and she seemed to take forever helping whoever was on the phone. So we looked around to see who could help us but everone who was there seemed to ignore us as if we weren't there. So finally we went back to the sevrice counter and waited a little longer for the employee to finish on the phone and she apologized for our wait and helped cash us out. That was the only issue lack of customer service. But overall I will ve going back to purchase another keyboard as to mine is older and I want something a little better.

Upon my first visit to the Phoenix Sam Ash, I was quite satisfied. Of course they have a large drum section like many other locations around the country, but they actually have a decent guitar room which is not the norm for many if the the other locations that I have been to. This was my first time shopping at Sam Ash, normally I had gone to Guitar Center or ordered direct from Sweetwater. I have to say, I am very impressed with their customer service and inventory. I was trying to decide which guitar I wanted out of three with all of them hanging high up on the wall requiring assistance to get. The sales rep was extremely patient and accommodating as I went back and forth playing each guitar. When asked how I was doing, I mentioned I really liked one of the guitars but it had some issues and needed to be adjusted. The rep didn’t hesitate, he pulled out his tools and start adjusting the guitar for me, not once but three times as I tried it in between each one providing feedback. I ended up spending a little over an hour in the store and I was able to pick up a quality setup guitar and a new chorus pedal. The rep cleaned and restrung the guitar for me while I jammed on a different guitar demoing effects pedals. Overall great experience, I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality inventory and customer service. Next time I need some new gear I will absolutely be going back!

Who Evers is managing that store needs to go over training again, and better their staff, to Greet , ask show and closed with a smile and delivering great customer service. I traded in three used electric guitars. I dealt with Sam with the trade in. Sam was great to deal with and came up with a good offer. I decided to look at their acoustic guitars and eventually settled on a Taylor. Sam, Kyle and Michael were all amazing to deal with! No rush, no pushy sales techniques just good, sound advice with an attitude of helpfulness as I wound my way to my decision. I found a Taylor that I really liked and made it mine. This was my second new guitar purchase at Sam Ash in Glendale, AZ. This location is awesome to deal with and the only place I’ll shop at. The customer service and selection puts Sam Ash over the top as the best music instrument store in AZ. I definitely recommend Sam Ash when making a musical instrument purchase. I’m headed there again today to pick up a ukulele for my daughter!

Sam Ash is a great store with helpful employees and reasonable prices. My only complaint is their selection of drums, guitars and amps seems to get smaller all the time. They have a fair number of Gibson Les Pauls and Fender guitars, but they were very limited on things like mid range Ibanez’s, Schecters, Jacksons, and Charvels. It’s hard to purchase guitars and amps in the $1000 price range if you can’t try them first and it seems like the local guitar center and Sam Ash locations are lacking in inventory.

Went in to buy a guitar the other day and found pretty much the exact one I wanted (color and everything) on they're "used items" wall. It was a cream fender strat for almost half the price of a regular one if it was brand new. Not only was the price so good but they set up the guitar for me for free (made sure the frets had no buzzing, adjusted the bridge and action, etc.) The dudes who helped me out there were a guy named Michael and another guy named Jake. Both SUPER nice guys who had a lot of knowledge and really knew what they were doing. This was my first time purchasing at a Sam Ash store and I will definitely be going here instead of guitar center from now on.

I've been shopping and buying music equipment at Sam Ash for several years now. Almost always they have had what I wanted; if they didn't have it, they ordered it immediately and I have had it within a week. I have been extremely satisfied with them. Now they have allowed West Valley jazz musicians and singers to come in for two hours on Sunday afternoons and play; most of the time using equipment that can be found at the store. It is exciting for the musicians who end up buying much of the equipment that is used as well as other people who see the instruments being played and realize that they, too can buy the same equipment. I would recommend Sam Ash for any music equipment you might want; their sales people will know what you want and give you the best deal you can ask for.

I haven’t been to a guitar store in awhile. I already have a few, but I needed something smaller that I could take on trips. The staff at Ash were at my service right away. They showed me the available options, were very honest about the +/- of each option and quickly answered all my questions. I tried a few models, but once I held and played the Martin LXK2 Little, OGM I couldn’t put it down. For the price, it’s a solid amazing instrument. Well crafted as you would expect, but also made of materials that will help in various environments for any traveler. I must also thank Ash for honoring veterans! If you visit an Ash Music store, you will have awesome service and you just might find another perfect instrument to add to your collection.

I don't often leave reviews, but I definitely feel prompted after a visit I made yesterday to Sam Ash. Sam helped me get a work order put together for my jumbo body acoustic for some minor work. He provided great information about their luthier whom they refer to as The Wizard. I thought it was funny but it also provides great comfort knowing they have a very well established guitar tech at their store and not just some kid enthusiast. Sam offered feedback on the strings I liked and suggested a small change, assuring me I would like the sound. After poking around a bit I decided to buy another guitar as well and he put on new strings (the ones he reccommended) and they were great. Also hooked me up with a humidifier for my new acoustic. He was able to handle myself and a friend and deal with several other guests as well all while giving us his attention. It was personal, personable, and a great experience. I wish I had purchased my last guitar from Sam Ash but from here on out I will certainly be a loyal patron to this establishment. Thanks Sam!

Helpful with questions about gear(especially Sam), and always more than happy to pull a guitar off the wall to let you play it. The luthier (Phil) is extremely quick and knows his stuff. I am an older person who is trying to play the guitar. Again. I was looking for a guitar suited to someone with smaller hands. My brother and I first visited a large store not too far from Sam Ash. They had an impressive inventory, but the store seemed somewhat impersonal. I don't like it when sales people at constantly at your heel, but I don't know if I would have been able to pick out who at the store was an employee. I got a little discouraged, but we headed over to Sam Ash. What a difference! Sam F warmly greeted us when we walked through the door. We told him what we were looking for. He led the way, and the guitar was not exactly what I was hoping for. Sam suggested another model, and the minute I held it in my hands and heard the tone, I knew I found my guitar. the staff has always been helpful each time i visit they let me retune the guitars to the way I play I have got three guitars my latest purchase was a case for my resonator guitar with a respectful staff and great service you can.t go wrong I will continue to be a patron of Sam Ash Music edit- just purchase a Epiphone Hummingbird this was like the one I had in my teenage years but without the pick-up bult in it fell off the wall and got busted so I found out that Sam Ash had a hummingbird so I called them up and Art check to see if they did and so I went down to the store and there it was so I tune it up to my tuning that I use got a case and you guess it went home with me I have been a patron for a long time never had a bad experience the staff has always help when i need it and been respectful when it wasn't needed the service is beyond the call of duty and always there when needed and I have been a satisfied customer. Loved this store. Large inventory and size of a guitar center, and although it's a chain as well it has a the feel of a local hometown music store. The staff was more approachable and helpful than the chain stores near where I live in the East Valley. I browsed for a long time; there was so much to see and they have alot of good used equipment too. They have that in spots specific to used inventory so that was nice instead of randomly mixed in the general inventory. Good sale prices and competitive prices.

I purchased a bass recently through Steven in guitars and had an adjustment made by Michael. I also bought a couple of books, 24 Italian arias, and some vocal/piano jazz book of standards from Jose. Customer service seems to be a top priority. The employees are always friendly and want to make sure that you're happy with your purchase. Great experience !!! I love to mess around with all the drums when i am in the store. I bought a used Yamaha DTXpress Electric drum set that wasn't functioning perfectly. Yamaha customer service found my problem, i needed a new stereo cord. I called the store to see if the employee agreed with Yamaha, Steve in drums said he agreed it sounded like the problem. He said to bring my drum module in to test it before spending money on something that may not solve my problem. So I brought in my module, tested it with a new cord, that was the problem, so I got a new cord for $12. Now I have a perfectly functioning drum set thanks to Yamaha customer service and Steve from drums at Sam Ash. Then Steve went on lunch and I had a few more questions about some stuff and Eddie did his best to answer my questions. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful employees at Sam Ash !!! The good people at Sam Ash in Glendale went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive experience. They took in my various instruments for store credit towards a bass trombone located in the Manhattan Sam Ash and had the instrument shipped to their store. Update: The guitar work is incredible, but regrettably, I will not be entering a Sam Ash Store ever again. When I went to pick up my guitar, I was told to either wear a mask, or show my medical document. The mandates have been lifted, but Sam Ash Management takes joy in making customers and employees miserable. There is an extreme disregard to humanity and privacy that is ignored by private and publicly traded businesses across the United States. Management can feel free to abuse their employees and customers, but I refuse to participate in America's new false religion. I thought we'd moved on from the 1930s, but I guess some want a little taste of what this is like. I wish the wonderful employees at Sam Ash the best, but there are plenty of less abusive alternatives that will not treat us like subjects. I recently had an 80s Carvin guitar repaired (switch replacement) and set up. The guitar plays and sounds beautifully. The people in the store are very courteous, and the pricing of instruments are very reasonable. I couldn’t ask for better service! Update: more guitar upgrades and repair done throughout the year. Outstanding work and service! Update: We bought a Tascam multitrack recorder and the the team helped us choose the best recorder for my projects.

The guys in the guitar department are really wonderful. Shout out to Sam in particular who has gone above and beyond helping me find a guitar and an amp that suit my tone. I went in over a month ago to start looking and asked for something with humbuckers. He put a beautiful Charvel So Cal Mod 2 in my hands and I couldn't get my mind off of it even though I originally assumed I'd end up buying a strat. I saved up some money and went back last week to buy it. Worth every penny. Now he's helping me find an amp by letting me wander around the store and plug in to what they've got so I can experiment a little. I'd encourage other first time amp buyers to visit Sam and ask for his help. Reading about amps online all day gets you nowhere. Just bring your guitar in and start trying them out. I don't know about the guitar guys, but all the employees in the drum department are very helpful. They are always willing to help me find anything, and seem very knowledgeable about all the products. They always make sure I have information on clinics or any deals going on in the store. They even send me signed cards with extra discounts. Much rather shop here than guitar center, where it is very obvious the employees only care about commission. UPDATE: It seems like over the last year the staff has gone downhill, at least in the drum department. Most of the things that caused me to rate them so highly seem to have gone away. Most of the drum guys don't seem to know much about drums, I've even had to go behind the counter to get the correct drum sticks because the employee couldn't find them. The other thing that has caused me to rate them less is that one of their main promotions is to give $10 gift cards with purchases. However, the gift cards expire quickly and they will not take them after they expire. I wasn't too happy about this considering it was supposed to be their way of getting me back in the door, and for a regular shopper who spends a lot of money there.

I primarily deal with Michael, Steven, Art , Sam and Mike in the Guitar Section and their on-site luthier Phil, but I haven't ever had a bad experience with any employee that I have met. I can't say enough good things about Sam Ash. They operate like a family oriented music store should.

Sam Ash has a wind instrument department which sets them apart from Guitar Center. As I am a trumpet and trombone player, I go to Sam Ash often for my horn accessories. Overall, I enjoy going there and sales staff is always cordial and helpful.

There's a choir major working in the strings section of the store who is absolutely amazing. If you are renting or buying an instrument this is the place to go. She explained all of the purchase/rental options, cut us a break on merch, and even gave us a tutorial as she hooked us up. They have the best new/used options and prices for stringed instruments in the valley. I canceled my rental at another store and went with sam ash as a result of their service. No pressure, great prices, expertise, and HOURS are 4 big reasons not to go anywhere else.

I like Sam Ash. I bought my very first drum kit from Sam Ash way back in 2004. I’ve chosen them over stores like Guitar Center since then. My experience today was not an enjoyable one, however. I was recently gifted an electronic drum kit, and had an issue with the fitting of the snare pad. I initially called a handful of times to check if it would even be worth the trip. No one answered the phone. So, I made the trip into the heart of Glendale to confer with the drum experts at Sam Ash. I was greeted by Justin, and he proceeded to examine my pad. During his initial inspection of the issue he was quick to infer that this issue was somehow a product of my meddling. This was an off-putting comment, but easily laughed off. He helped me the best he could without possibly voiding my manufacturer’s warranty. When he wasn’t able to resolve the issue he proceeded to insult the kit. That was the comment that bothered me. This was a gift, and I don’t appreciate the condescending comments that came with my requests for assistance. I was able to resolve the issue myself when I got home, and now the kit is working fantastically! I still support Sam Ash, but I am upset enough by the interaction to let Sam Ash know about it. Other than today, 5 stars.

We had a GREAT time at the Tuesday night Guitar Jam at Sam Ash in Glendale this week. A couple of really accomplished guitarists and a bassist showed up to play, and my 13-year old daughter, who has been taking drum lessons for a year now, was able to drum for them. This was my first visit to a Sam Ash store. It was located in Glendale, AZ. To my right, a greeter welcomed me to the store and pointed out the way to the guitar section of the store. To my left was a stage where three people were playing jazz and a few others sat in folding chairs to watch and listen. First impression: WOW! Upbeat and fun! The store was HUGE with all kinds of instruments for sale and racks of sheet music and books throughout. Walking to the "acoustic corner" of the store, customers were playing on guitars and keyboards. Music filled the air. It was energizing! Then I met Sam (whose middle name in Ash). How's that for "destiny?" Sam was a good listener and he showed me several instruments that might meet my needs. It didn't take long to find a wonderful Yamaha acoustic guitar in my price range and the coolest soft shell case. Sam summoned a tall manager over to authorize a 10% discount on my next purchase. (I won't review my impression of him because it will detract from my story.) Sam offered to carry my purchase to the car. He gave me his card and offered further assistance whenever needed. Sam made my first visit to the store a joy and a memorable one! Thank you, Sam!

I would have had a 5 star experience except for - they are understaffed by 2 people. 3 of us waited and waited at the check out counter. At least 5 minutes even after we called for someone. I went in for the install of strap buttons and a new string. When I got home the new string had not been put on. I had to go back; a long ride from my house. The Store was well stocked, they seem to have everything. Except enough sales people.

First time I visited I had purchased an acoustic, was easy to find which guitar I wanted. They make it easy to decide, specially if your like me I don’t know all details. Thanks also to employee Steven for helping me with which guitar to choose. Came back the second time and was treated well. This time I had to return the guitar unfortunately for reasons but had no issues what’s so ever, after purchased powered woofers EV ZLX 15’s for my DJing. They had it in stock (w/ covers). I walked out with the speakers but more importantly had great customer service. They do not try to sell you stuff, they actually take time to listen and converse with what you are looking for. I recommend coming here if you want good experience. Will be making future purchases instead of going to the GuitarCenter which is closer to me, al well! Ordered a guitar from the online retailer and was damaged. However, going into an actual location you definitely get treated like a good customer even if you are just buying a cheap guitar like I was. I work in sales so I empathize with having to spend 30 minutes with a customer that has an issue that's not even your fault and it's something cheap anyway. Anyways, the guitar manager idk his name but he was helpful was able to find the guitar and get a transfer from another retail location. I would definitely make the drive to shop at this location even though I live in Tempe. It's also a big freaking store I guess it was a Safeway. Just shop here - if you dont you are dumb

I made a hour trip today to Sam Ash in Phx and left with some amazing gear and a wonderful experience. Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable. My salesman cleaned up some minor fret issue with my new Tele, and did a small set up with new strings. Then he setup my daughters ukulele and when I was looking at the Boss Katana he advised me about the special they we’re having in they 100 watt model for only 80 more. It’s a good thing I don’t like to close or I would always be broke. Amazing store and amazing staff.

My first time there was really nice. I was immediately greeted with a smile and a hello from a Gentleman who was manning the front counter as I entered the store. I love to wander and browse, so I just picked a direction and started poking my nose into everything. I knew they had what I wanted there, so there was no rush and I wanted to explore. All the sales staff were very nice and they didnt pester me, which was nice. They could see that I was just lokking around and let me do so, but made sure to keep an eye on me in case they were needed. Several time when I lingered on something, I was asked if they could take the guitar down or explain something about the amp I was looking at. But it was quick and courteous and they were obviously letting me do my thing at my own pace. Eventually I went over and bought what I came in for and got gently teased for walking by it 6 times , and how I must have walked about 5 miles in the store lol. Super good bunch of people there and the store was nice an clean and loaded with interesting stuff. They even had some cellos , which really tickled me.

I had not been into a SAMASH store for 20 years, I moved to the East Valley and my only options have been online or Guitar Center. Most musicians know that the GC folks can be not so friendly, or have limited options when it comes to drums. I just happened to be on the West Side of town for family function and popped in. I was surprised and amazed at the drum selection, they even price matched some of the drum heads and accessories I had on my Amazon wish list, so I was able to grab them on the spot. The two (2) staff members really seemed to appreciate the customers walking through the front door, which was refreshing, as compared to GC. Sucks that I live an hour away, otherwise I'd be popping in much more often.

We have been getting advice and shopping at the 43rd Ave and cactus location for 15 years. Although there has been a few issues with people who probably should have never worked there in the past it seems as though all the employees like their careers now. Andrea has been thebone I look to when needing to know what works for our venue and what doesn’t. She always gives options on price ranges and equipment available in store and what can be ordered. The items can always be bought online, it is nice to see, touch, play and get advice. I’d say “take the time and visit this store!”

Went there in the search of an accordion for my father with dementia. My dad still likes to try to control the conversation even though his disability greatly limits his communication. Regardless they were extremely helpful and picked up quickly on my dad's condition. They didn't have the type of accordion (travel size with keys) he was looking for in-store, but they found the last one in stock across all there stores and had it shipped to him in less than a week. Once again I’ve left feeling certain that my money went to equipment that will make me happy for years to come. I bought my first real guitar rig from Sam Ash when I was 16, it was an Epiphpne Riviera semi hollow body electric guitar, a line 6 spiderIV 20 watt amp, and a ZOOM multieffects guitar processor. Now at 25 I used all of my own money to get a Gibson ES335, an Orange 50 watt crush RT, and the Line 6 Helix. I was helped from the moment I walked in and this older gentleman named Sam ( go figure ) gave me as much time, advice, help, and patience that I needed. He must’ve went through 10 different guitars from the Gibson Les Paul traditional and jr, Gretch streamline, Fender Tele with different pick ups, and I finally ended up with the Gibson ES335 after 2 days of shopping. Then it came to finding the right amp with an FX loop. He never once came off as annoyed, he genuinely seemed to love his job. Thanks Sam. Would recommend Sam Ash Music store off 43rd avenue and cactus any day to anyone.

At 50 years old I decided to take up creating electronic music as a hobby, the staff at Sam Ash has been great in helping me set up my gear. My only wish is that there were more than one store in the valley and that they opened at 9:00 on Sunday :) This is one instance where I'm happy a physical shop is still available as I can't play with a keyboard online nor can I listen to monitors. So instead of using Sam Ash as a test facility....I also buy most everything I need at their store to support them.

July 28, 2018 was the first ever time I stepped foot into a Sam Ash Music Store. I was searching for a specific practice pad, and guitar gift ideas for my daughter. I recently moved from another state where Sam Ash locations did not exist. Previously, I shopped at a Wisconsin based family owned store (White House of Music), and of course Guitar Center which boasted a pretty good selection of stuff. However, GC's customer service was hit or miss, and more recently a miss. This didn't bother me as much simply because I typically shop knowing exactly what I need. SAM ASH EXPERIENCE My first experience with Sam Ash was pretty good. I was greeted upon walking in. As I made my way to the acoustic guitar room I was greeted by another employee who offered help (even though he was already busy - that's impressive). The drum salesman was on lunch/dinner break, so one of the employees from the pro-audio department helped. I had a product held behind the drum counter... Interesting side note here: I had called a few days earlier to see if they carried an Offworld Percussion practice pad, a piece that is rather rare to see on shelves, but of really nice quality. The salesman checked, said they had only one left. Since it was mid week I wasn't able to come by immediately, but he offered to set it aside through Saturday. Quite frankly that was a very nice gesture... I didn't ask, it was offered. As a customer, that made me feel good. Anyway, the pro-audio employee (a lady, I forgot her name) admitted she didn't know a ton of drum stuff, but offered to help as best she could. And she did. She rung everything up, and set me up to receive a $10 gift certificate for making my first purchase. I walked away happy, and I'm sure I'll be walking back in for more in the future. Other notables: GREAT SELECTION (There's so much out there for any music store to carry, but Sam Ash in Glendale AZ had an impressive selection) CLEAN STORE (I didn't inspect everything like a weirdo, but certain things make an impact... first impression is that these employees take care of their store.) EXCITING/INVITING LAYOUT (They even had a stage set up immediately to the left when entering. That's just cool!)

I went in to buy my 6 year old daughter a guitar for her guitar class and everyone was really friendly except the guitar salesman. I went around 7:45 pm and I guess the guys shift ended at 8 cause he was really annoyed with every question I asked him. Great store but bad salesperson.

Great selection of all kinds of instruments, knowledgeable staff, and prices comparable with guitar center and Amazon. Ukuleles are entry level, not much mid level but they do have a couple top of the line Kalas, but no Kamakas.. The do have Taylor and Martin guitars in stock. High end Gibson and Fender electric guitars, and they even have marching baritones. Don't know much about the repair staff, but I paid for the 2-year guitar set-up and it was ready by the next day. When I need something I go here because I know they'll have it. Why is this so hard to find in such a big city??? Low G string for a ukulele, no prob. Sheet music for Cats, they've probably got that too.

I went in looking for a amplifier and a guitar upgrade. A man named Michael helped me out. He was highly informative and helpful. I didnt feel pressured into getting something i didnt want or needed. Also the guitar i purchased, a Gibson SG special faded, was on the wall and he noticed a chip on the side. He could have sold me the guitar I wouldnt have noticed til much later after the purchase. So he ordered a brand new one. I thought that was cool. So these guys have my business. I highly recommend checking them out. They're better than any guitar center I have been to in the valley. I went in with about 300$ for a 88 key keyboard and they did not have any in stock. I found one of there floor models that was 330$ and they offered it to me for 290.
