Gary and crew made my first guitar purchase, a Taylor 214, feel very special. An excellent and eager teacher, Gary increased my guitar IQ by double digits. Such a special, memorable experience!! And I got to pick EXACTLY the guitar I wanted. With the exact sound I wanted. Even among other "identical" models. This is Ancient Rome for Guitars. Long Live Gruhn.

Gruhn guitars was like walking into a palace of guitars. I was in awe at the sheer amount of beautiful, high quality guitars.
These are not cheap, big box store guitars. These are all works of art and excellent quality.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.
It is definitely worth a stop if you are in Nashville. Who knows, you might bump into someone famous. Known musicians are a frequent visit to Gruhn’s.

For anyone who has about having a bad experience at Gruhn Guitars...I can tell you, that was not the experience I had. Every employee I encountered was friendly, upbeat, and helpful. You can pick up and play virtually any instrument you see. 5/5 for me.
Mark Allen Hayes
Second floor selection is worth any drive. The best collection of vintage guitars, I would argue in the world. To hear George discuss his life is hearing guitar history in the making.
Daniel Schimmel
One of my favorite shops in Nashville. I have purchased multiple guitars from them. They always have a great selection and the staff is kind and helpful from the repair team to sales.

I was passing through Nashville on a business trip, so I wanted to stop in at the legendary Gruhn Guitars and see it. I'm not in the market for a guitar right now, but I did want a t-shirt. The friendly guy behind the counter encouraged me to play any guitar in the place, so I went around and played five or six, including a $13,000 Eric Clapton special.
I encourage any musician to drop in and absorb the casual, friendly Gruhn vibe.

A guitar shop that is furnished and operated with love. When I was there, I was warmly welcomed and well looked after. Although I obviously didn't want to/couldn't buy anything, I was allowed to play everything and people were always nice to me. I'm from Germany and had this guitar shop at the top of my Nashville todo list for a reason! I bought a t-shirt and even got a second one as a gift. Thank you and see you next time! Greetings Luca from Berlin.

Visited for the first time and was amazed by the level of customer service! Their selection is vast and of quality products. We also visited the other big name vintage store near by and it was entirely underwhelming beginning with the staff ignoring us for whatever reason?! Bought a beautiful brand new fender Stratocaster American Ultra Luxe. Brittany, Brian, and Corey were very accommodating and just great genuine people. ALL my future musical purchases will be from Gruhn’s Guitars!
David Keith
Gary was patient and knowledgeable, walked me through the purchase of my first Martin guitar like a guy who knows his stuff and cares about making sure the right guitar gets paired up with the right player. Great experience!

I've been selling guitars for the past 7 years and coming here, seeing how the best in the business do it, was a religious experience. Hard to describe the vibe in this place, it's cozy but overwhelming at the same time. Staff is super-friendly, and the selection of course is second to none. If you like nice guitars, you'll like this place.

I was in Nashville for vacation and I wanted to bring a guitar back with me, I wanted to purchase it from a local shop. Grunh's was on of them, I called them ahead to see what they had available. When I walked in, the experience I had is beyond great. I am a beginner but they treated me like any professional player, Cory was the best, he explained me the details of the guitar I was looking at, showed me different options and gave me all the time needed to make my choice. After buying the guitar, he gave me a few goodies, this is a priceless experience!!
Whoever is in Nashville and is thinking of buying a guitar, make sure to go to Gruhn's, you will not regret. If you can't find a guitar there is because you don't need a guitar!!
Thanks
TJ Thompson
They have a great selection and a very large inventory. They even have some left handed guitars, which is a treat for people like me. Normally lefties just look at inventory and wonder what a guitar plays like. At least here we have a few options which is rare. They offer a wide range of guitars and the layout is super organized. The employees are nice, helpful, attentive and not pushy. If you are a local, it's a great place to return often because of inventory constantly changing.

Best guitar store in the USA! Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The descriptions are honest and the guitar maintenance is second to none. Locally owned and operated by a hand picked staff. This is a must see guitar store.
Danny “Colt” Cooper
Mt Ohio brother in law came into town . He found a Taylor Builders edition . He had two guitars he wanted to trade but he did not bring the guitars . He drove back 2 weeks later with his two guitars . Happy transaction he traded two for the Taylor plus some cash as it was. Over $6,000.00 guitar . After the trade he was so happy . Thank the young man at Gruhn .
Gruhn trade in was far superior than Ash in Ohio.

I can’t describe how absolutely blown away I was by my experience at Gruhn Guitars. They are the number one Martin guitar dealer in the country, and their selection of both vintage and new guitars is incredible. They also have a huge variety of fine mandolins, banjos, and dobros. This place is like a dreamland for any musician. It’s the kind of place you only imagined could exist! The staff is unbelievably helpful and friendly and they’ll let you take anything off the shelf and play it! I walked out with a beautiful new Martin D-18 Sinker Mahogany. In a nutshell, it’s the most explosive new instrument I’ve ever played. I also left my 1968 D-28 with them to get some repairs done... George and his staff are so knowledgeable, and I’m content that my valuable instrument is in the best hands possible. If you’re traveling to Nashville, don’t miss a stop in Gruhn’s! This place WAY beats all the other music stores in the area!

Very nice store, the environment was great, no sales pressure, down to earth. Huge selection of guitars, ive been to Sweetwater many times and Gruhns has a larger on floor selection yet. Friendly staff. I will be back without a doubt.

This is truly the guitar player's Mecca! So much history and knowledge and great guitars! We even got the opportunity to visit with George Gruhn on the second floor for quite some time and admire his private collection of rare and prototype guitars.
Got to see artist owned guitars and play some wonderful instruments that were almost 100 years old!
Then got to go to the 3rd level which is the repair shop to see some other treasures!

Glad that I had the chance to visit the store if this authority on vintage guitars! Great collection and superb experience! Will certainly come back to drool and buy a guitar.

Saying nice things about Gruhn is probably about the same as saying that water is wet....but I've never been treated so well by a music instrument dealer in my life. A genuine five star experience!
Werner Sommer
Great vibe in this store!
The salespeople were so chill and so cool! They let you take down any guitar off the wall to play it. Had wonderful conversations with a few of them. Wished I could've chatted (and played) more! Highly recommended if you're in the Nashville area!
Steven Rush
All hail the Temple to all things stringed. Excellent staff on hand in their knowledge and friendliness. Being able to just stroll in, gawk at all 6he amazing instruments, and pick off the wall and play something that may catch your eye, truly a gifted shop and experience. Do Not Miss!!!
Lucy L
Gruhn Guitars is the best music shop in Nashville! We came in for SPBGMA week and enjoyed every minute in the store! The instruments are all so nice and beautiful! The selection is amazing and they let you play any instrument in there! The mandolin section was so fun!

I called and spoke with Greg in the repair shop about a buzzing noise coming from my Martin HD-35. I thought it could possibly be a loose brace. Though they are too busy to take on general repair work, he told me since I bought the guitar from Gruhn, he'd make time for a customer and I should come on by. When I came in, Greg looked thoroughly at all the bracing inside the guitar, which looked great, and after a while he figured out the buzzing was actually just a loose nut and washer on my rear strap button/output jack! Super simple, but in order to get at those pieces you have to unscrew and remove the outer (only visible) piece from that button/jack, so all I did was make sure that outer piece was tight, didn't think to check behind it. Since there was nothing to take care of inside the guitar, there was no charge, and he checked the neck and anything else that may need adjustment in terms of setup while he had the guitar on hand. Fortunately, he said everything looked 100% perfect. I definitely felt like a valued customer on my visit, as I did when I bought the guitar a few years ago.
About that visit a few years ago, I forget the gentleman's name (he was tall, haha) [Edit: Yes it was Rob! Thank you, it's been a few years], but I told him I was ready to by an acoustic guitar, likely a Martin but I was open to other options, and not only did he pick out several guitars for me to try, but when he took the (my) pre-owned HD-35 off the wall, he noticed immediately it had 12 gauge strings on it, and he preferred 13s for that rich Martin sound. He took a few minutes and put 13s on it for my test drive. And of course, his effort paid off and I bought it. I wasn't a famous Nashville artist or writer, I wasn't shopping in the $10,000 price range, but I felt like he cared that I was in there shopping with him. I'd be back a lot more often if I could afford to be!
Jered Golladay
50+ years in business, they've got the experience to help find the instrument you've been looking for. Gruhn's has an incredible selection of acoustic guitars to choose from.
Jim Kremer
Worked with Kyle Harmon for this online purchase he was amazing!

Very Professional. Highly Recommend Gruhn Guit's
Marc Burrows
I could not be happier with my purchase through Gruhn Guitars!! I cannot express how grateful I am for their care and customer service and respect for high quality instruments, and saving me from having to deal with Guitar Cntr. Rob at Gruhn's hooked me up with my first Martin and I'm very proud of it. Thank you Gruhn Guitars!!
Ben Martin
Great selection of high end used and vintage guitars. They are happy to let you freely walk the store playing whatever you want. Great experience.
Alex Poteet
I was fortunate enough to work with Gary Scott(world class guitar-picker, songwriter and human being) on the purchase of two fine Martin Guitars. We talked about what I was needing, what instruments might work and Gary came back on two separate occasions with instruments in hand that absolutely kill. Once the instruments were picked out I have to say the luthiers and techs at Gruhn made sure these Martins were in absolute perfect condition for professional use. Thanks George, Gary and all youse guys at the Gruhn's!
COOPER NORMAN
Gruhn's guitar knowledge doesn't end with interesting conversations ... they mix and match that knowlege when ordering inventory ... like Martin Custom Shop guitar versions you won't find anywhere else. Stunning instruments like the sinker mahogany 0000-18 with Adirondack spruce top ... most likely only at Gruhn's Guitars.
Rebekah Clevenger
Really great place! Unique & special guitars that you'd never in your dreams get to see in person here!
Derek Buckley
Excellent selection, friendly and helpful staff!!! Well taken care of, whether you buy a guitar, strings, swag, or just looking.
Scott Elder
Bought this wonderful Les Paul! Great selection and knowledgeable staff. They mixed safety protocols nicely with customer service. Two other places down the street lost out because they made me feel uncomfortable and unwanted.
Kevin Funkhouser
Friendly sales staff and amazing guitar selection. I would highly recommend if you are in Nashville.
Stephen's Music Room
Very cool guitar store. George Gruhn has been selling guitars for decades and is a very interesting guy. We got to meet him, see his snakes and see some remarkable guitars...... Must go there if you play guitar and visit Nashville
Dennis Johnson
I could have spent my entire day in this store. The Vintage Bass Guitars are some of the best I've seen in my 45 years of playing.
Steve Bryan
Great place for personal service to find the perfect guitar for you. Gary Scott is a super guy to work with, whether you're a novice or a pro.
Elizabeth Weyer
I had such a great full on experience here! I had been looking for years for the right guitar for me and I found it here. Customer service was a portion of why I chose the Taylor guitar that I did. When I was trying some out Kyle suggested to me to plug them into an amp to see how they really sound. I knew I wanted to purchase from here, because of how well they take care of their guitars (constant necessary upkeep, climate controlled, etc.). I was able to put the guitar I wanted on hold for a couple of days. When I came back to purchase, Gary took great care of me at the register, was very informative on bringing it back if I had any questions or issues along the way. THANK YOU for a great experience. To say I’m excited about my new Taylor guitar from you guys is an understatement!

I've visited MANY guitar shops in my life, but Gruhn Guitars will be the highlight of them all. While I was visiting Nashville I asked a local which guitar shop to visit... Gruhn was the place. We walk in the door and immediately I sense the the humidity in the air. GOOD SIGN! That means they take acoustic care serious. We were immediately welcomed by helpful professional staff. The guy with the beard, can't remember his name, was AWESOME. He shows me around and asks me what I'd like to see. I told him, "I'm a Martin guy. I'd like to see a pre war Martin. Do you have one I can see?" I told the guy I didn't have the money to walk away with one, but it's been my dream to play one. He points me to a pre owned wall and lets me be. I see MANY MANY fine guitars, but no pre war guitars. He comes back and ask me how I'm doing, and I tell him that his collection is amazing, but no pre war guitars. He looks and me a second and says, I've got something in the vault I'll bring out and let you play. After being gone 2 minutes he comes out and hands me the real deal. I beauty of a Pre War Martin. And it's spectacular. He tells me to sit down and play it. So I do and it's butter. OH MY GOSH. He looks actually thrilled to let me experience this moment. I ask him the price and he chuckles and says $100,000. Wowsa. He let my kid play it too. We will never forget the way Gruhn made us feel that day. They have awesome stuff folks. Even stuff I can afford. ;) GO THERE!

1/27/22 UPDATE: I decided to give them another shot based on a conversation via email that I had with them. I went back in the store without letting them know it was me that left us review and had a totally different experience. It was honestly one of the best guitar sports store experiences I have ever had. I think the associate's name was Brian. Ended up walking out of there with a beautiful new Taylor.
So I'm changing my 2 star review to a 5 star review.

I had such high hopes with this place. I was fully ready, with cash in had to purchase a Martin today. I drove about an hour to get there for a specific guitar i saw on their website. However, not a single employee asked to help. There were several employees and 2 customers but not a word, not a welcome and not even a thanks for coming as I walked out. I just didn't feel good about giving my business to a place that didn't even acknowledge me.
Mike Keesee
Amazing selection of Guitars and C.F. Martin Guitars. Really nice, clean store, friendly staff. Must visit if in Nashville, TN

I gotta give a shoutout to Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, TN. Namely Greg Voros and the crew of luthiers that did me righteous in doing a complete setup on my new guitar. They did a truss rod adjustment, customized the bridge saddle height, filed the nut slots and get this…they removed the bridge and reglued it using hide glue. All of this at no additional charge. Greg Voros and crew went above and beyond to take care me and make sure that my new guitar was set up correctly and issues corrected before I left TN.
THANK YOU GREG! THANK YOU DAVID!
Scott Sperry
This is the definitive guitar store in Nashville. The staff are experts, the selection vast. He’ll, just come in for an hour and listen to people play!
Chris Johnson
Great instruments. Friendly, knowledgeable people. You won't regret a visit.
Jessica Horney
Loved watching my hubby walk around the store drooling over all the guitars. He didn't play any, but he said he was afraid he wouldn't want to put them down. It was a good visit and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Pat Zelenka - Red Ridge Entertainment Artist
Well worth the trip from Michigan. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Big selection. Highly recommended.

Trip to Gruhn guitars was an event . Took a 1968 Gibson es335 in for an appraisal . I was with 2 non musician types that couldn't understand why I hauled a guitar all the way from Atlanta and why we had to go across town . I told them this place is totally legit - real rock star types come here . We walk through the door and there is Tommy Shaw from Styx . SEE!!! I told you . Great experience and solid appraisal - THANKS !!!!
Josh Imes
Amazing guitar shop! We were in town to try out some vintage instruments to buy. Gruhn's not only has it all, but everyone there was so kind to us. Kyle Harmon not only took time out of his busy schedule to show us around, he let us try whatever we wanted, and was extremely knowledgeable about everything we picked up. This shop is a must see for any music lover!
Roberson540
Brian helped me, he was super sweet/helpful. The guitar shop owners in Louisville told me to pilgrimage here while I was in Nashville. Got the feeling that a guitar is always being played in this building and that’s pretty cool considering the special inventory they have.
Thomas Castle
Iconic guitar store with incredible selection and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Tim Edwards
Very nice and friendly staff. Lots of guitars and string instruments.
Peggy Fleming
I have been playing acoustic guitars for 45+ years and have dealt with a lot of vendors and guitar stores. Never in all that time have have I had such a pleasurable experience as with Gruhn guitars and the sales person, Gary. I wanted a Martin HD28 and he said they had 3 on hand. When I asked if he could play all 3 and select the one he thought sounded best he replied, “no problem”. I purchased the one he recommended and it’s fantastic. I can’t rate Gruhn guitars high enough, their operation is off the charts. By the way, I’m Jim not Peggy.😄
Christian Butera
Fantastic place. Really cool things. Beautiful guitars. The staff is super kind. George was really nice to talk with us for a while too. I really enjoy this place! Thank you all for being great.
Speed Professor
I received personal assistance while there. They had a good selection of new Martins and some other used guitars. I just wish they had better mandolins.
Grant Parker
I have been a fan since 2019, upon my first visit. Every human being there serves a purpose of virtue in the never ending human quest to understand and express music through an instrument.
Their professionalism and experience/understanding of the inner and outer workings of every instrument in their store is of the gold standard if not beyond.
I myself have been having a tough experience with a guitar I recently purchased that quite frankly represents a personal commitment of mine to rekindle the flame of my career from the embers of a fire long gone cold. Mr. Greg Voros spoke to me personally after I reached out to the Gruhn Tech Department, and immediately confirmed my level of regard and confidence in the quality of workmanship and genius that lay within the Gruhn family. I am ever thankful that I experienced the concerning experiences with my instruments that I have, as it gave me the opportunity to share a moment with such a prolific individual. I am ever grateful, and cannot wait for my next opportunity to work with ANYONE at Gruhn Guitar once more.
Benjamin Quay Bradley
Talk about customer service. I've never dealt with a company this good and wanting to make things perfect for the buyer. Recently bought a guitar that had a small issue with it. When I reached out to Corey to let him know, it was unbelievable the response and their desire to make it right. I will definitely only buy acoustics from Gruhn here on out. They are out of this world good guys.
Tony Pureheart
Great staff, great inventory! Only place that you can lay your hands on that many Martin guitars to compare and pick out your perfect guitar. I spent 3 hours playing everything I wanted before choosing my D-35. Worth the drive to find my dream guitar. Thank you to everyone there.
Mike Moore
I had a amazing experience! Staff is amazing! selection of merchandise on point! Cory was extremely helpful with the purchase of my new Martin D41! He also helped me find a high end left handed Les Paul for my son which they are working on now and we hope to be able to purchase soon! Looking forward to more business in the near future!
elizabeth blankenship
This is the best place you could ever go for your music needs!! You will not be disappointed.
The staff is amazing and I would give them 10 stars if possible. All the staff is super knowledgeable and willing to help you find the best instrument suited for you. This means a lot. Shout out to Kyle for being so patient and helping me find my new guitar. Thank you guys. I will definitely recommend you to others and be a future customer.

Could this place be cooler? No is the answer, it's the coolest. And to top it off the staff was extremely nice and helpful and the entire feel of the shop is warm and welcoming.
Zach Cohen
Great people, nice clean classy guitar store. Well lit and a wonderful selection. Mr. Gruhn was very friendly, down to earth and extremely knowledgeable
Danielle Muscato
The legendary Gruhn Guitars. What else can I say? Incredible selection of high-end new, vintage, and acoustic guitars and basses. They have jazz boxes and ukuleles and do repairs and of course, famously, appraisals as well. Everyone here is SO GREAT to talk to, respectful and helpful and kind. Special thanks to Chloe for getting me in last-minute (during covid-19 they are requiring appointments for the showroom). I only had to wait about an hour. Love this place. I go every time I'm in Nashville.
Niko Mikelis
They had some of the best guitars I think I've ever seen. Friendly staff and and very clean and organized store
Justen Taylor
After months of research I decided to make the 8 hour drive to Music City USA to purchase my “forever” guitar! I knew of a few places to visit but had Gruhn Guitars at the top of my list. I scheduled an appointment and when I arrived I was overwhelmed(in a good way). The selection at Gruhn is unmatched by far!! The salesman, Gary, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating! After playing several guitars that I’d been researching, one finally spoke to me! I could not be more pleased with my shopping/purchase experience at Gruhn Guitars. I have bought guitars all over the country at shops big and small. This was without a shadow of a doubt the best guitar shopping experience I’ve ever had! Thank You!!! I WILL be back soon!!!
Edward Sobek
Amazing guitar selection. If you play, stop in and check it out. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Awesome store!!! A must see if you are in Nashville.
Alan Grey
A great guitar shop with many other acoustic, string instruments. Bought a mandolin here and Kyle took a great amount of time and detailed focus to make sure everything was exactly what I wanted. I plan to return to buy a new banjo there sometime soon.
Lisa Kerns
My husband and I visited Gruhns a couple of days ago and really enjoyed the visit. There are some amazing guitars and other pieces. Staff is knowledgeable and nice. Brian asked us if we needed anything and was kind enough to give us a tour of the place that included a trip to the second floor not accessible to public, which was cool to get to see some extra special pieces. Thanks to Brian for making our first experience at Gruhns even cooler.
Dale Gleason
I was suggested to stop in and see George by my father. Probably 4 decades since my Dad first visited the store. It’s great to see a gifted person working. Stringed instruments are a constant source of enrichment. Great place to get your hands on one!
Rick Brooks
A truly great guitar store for players and collectors. I saw and held a very rare 1952 Fender Esquire today, and learned about its history from one of the very knowledgeable staff. This is a must visit for serious guitarists!
Snake lover7
I spoke with Greg about fixing an instrument and he could not have been nicer. He took the time and had patience to answer all of my questions that I had. He was extremely knowledgable. I have visited the store a few times and the staff have always been very welcoming and friendly. The selection of high quality instruments is world class. I highly recommend Gruhns and will continue to do business with them in the future.
Tim Propersi
Gruhn Guitars is a legendary Guitar shop in Nashville. If you love Guitars, you will love this place. Ask for George!
Steve Poorman
My wife and I visited Gruhn Guitars this week for the first time. I must say that I don't ever remember having a better customer service experience in my life, not to mention that I was in the same room with so many great guitars. The staff was exceptionally gracious, personable, and made me feel completely at ease by inviting me to play any guitar that I desired. Please support this business. They are a great American Institution and 50 years of success is no small matter. Thank you George Gruhn and staff.
al stewart
I have bought quite a few guitars from these fine folks at Gruhn. Without a doubt this is the best store with the best staff. If I need anything done to one of my beautiful Martin’s Gruhn has the only people I trust to do anything to my guitars. Simply put, they are the best and they sell and service the best period.
Tom Wright
I can't praise the shop enough. I went in yesterday with the intent of buying a "keeper". I played many Martin's (10) and settled on a D18 sinker and wow what an axe! What was even better was the hospitality and total experience at Gruhn. Joe and Rob were outstanding. They answered all my questions, suggested things and just are overall great guys! It has always been my dream to buy a top notch guitar from Gruhn and I m so glad I was able to finally make that happen. They carry nothing but quality items and I wont buy another guitar from anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and come on down, you won t regret it!
Jacob Spencer
Really good shop if you are looking for acoustics (they had tons of Martin's and Taylor's and some boutique brands) it is somewhat limited as far as electrics go, but the staff was superb and the guitars were outstanding and all in tune. Overall, I would recommend this shop to anyone, especially acoustic players.
Jeff Herriman
Found an extradinary guitar and did not want to bring home on the airplane. People at Gruhn said no problem. They packed the guitar. loosend strings, packet the head stock inside the case, packet the whole case in bubble wrap and shipped it very economically! My guitar was home and waiting form me in the same condition as I left it at the store. The inventory is extensive and the staff is extremely knowlegable. This is the most professional store I have visited!
Tamas Szoradi
We had a great experience at visiting and buying a vintage Fender Stratocaster at Gruhn Guitars. The staff (Corey was taking care of me) was extremely friendly and helpful. Inquiring about a guitar and reserving it for a month until I could come by to try it out was very smooth and not complicated at all. Corey even arranged us to meet George in person and got our book signed by him! Taken together, if you love guitars/basses/mandolins/banjos etc. you must visit this place.
Junetta Erickson
Every time we go in, Gruhn makes our experience amazing! Most recently Kyle helped us he was so patient and kind. Everyone really listens to you and is so knowledgeable on their products!
Kimberly Shimpo
A must see. Fantastic!
David Squires
My wife and I visited Gruhn Guitars last week and I was able to play three different Taylor guitar models at my leisure. Corey, a store salesman, was very helpful and even allowed me to play each guitar through a Fishman acoustic amplifier in a room off the showroom floor. I couldn't ask for a better way to evaluate an acoustic guitar.
The number of available acoustic and electric guitars there was exceptional and Corey was very knowledgeable and friendly.
This store is worth a visit and highly recommended.
Mike Ickes
Heaven for any guitar player. I probably spent 5 hours here, played $100,000 worth of different guitars, and asked the staff a lot of questions. Everyone working there was pleasant, passionate about guitars and not at all pushy to make a sale.
I left, visited 6 other guitar shops in Nashville, came back, played a few guitars head to head in a sound booth, and ended up buying the perfect instrument for me (and not the brand I set out expecting to buy either! ). Six months later still very happy with the purchase and I wouldn't have got there without the patience and experience of the staff. Any time I'm back in Nashville I will be here again.

It's true, George Gruhn has some of the finest guitars in the business. I think that most people know that.
What they might not know is that he also has some exceptionally fine people working for him as well. After a two year long quest, looking for the perfect "cannon" of a guitar, it was Billy Jackson that brought me back to Gruhn Guitars.
Billy has an uncanny knack for putting the right guitar into the right player's hands. Two years ago he led me to what I thought could be the perfect Custom Shop configuration. I took two years too long, playing a lot of incomparable instruments, and was disappointed to find that the particular model I had come to feel was the "one" was no longer being manufactured.
When I came back to Billy, he led me to what I assumed would be an unlikely substitute, but like magic, it happened. Billy, through his experience, professionalism, his courtesy, his ability to make the customer feel comfortable and not to mention a great set of ears, matched my criteria to the perfect guitar. A guitar that was not only a "bad boy guitar," but also a piece of history that could be passed down. It wasn't a rushed process. He set me up in a room, gave me time to become enthralled with what he already knew was a good fit and then closed the deal.
I couldn't be happier. The last few days with my new instrument have solidified the fact that this shop knows what they're doing when it comes to quality. Regardless, Billy was the most important part of the equation. When people feel welcome, respected, and are attended to, they'll spend their money. Billy delivers this level of service whether a customer is looking for an entry level guitar or an heirloom.
Thanks again, Billy.

I had a great first experience at Gruhn's. Billy was very helpful and attentive with helping me pick out a new guitar with no pressure or off-handed sales tactics - just good conversation with some Nashville lore tied in. The showroom is astounding and I was able to play a few dream guitars before wrapping up my purchase. Rob closed the deal and Billy tied up the loose ends like a pro. I can't wait to play my new sinker!

Absolutely great store!!!! As a 20 year old Musician, I feel that this store has some of the most essential instruments needed to play all genres of music! Went with my dad and mom there over winter break, but did not get to meet the legendary George Gruhn. The vast variety of the guitars is fantastic. My dad kept looking at an original 1962 ES - 335 and we both fantasized about being able to afford it! They have a huge variety of acoustic guitars. Their Les Paul variety is in the range of the 70s and reissues. Definitely coming back to this store and probably buying a special guitar for my dad. Also hoping to meet George there one day. Great Job Guys!!!! Thank you for your great service
Ed Rowe
Awesome buying experience. Kyle was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable. We spent several hours selecting the perfect instrument. Highly recommended.

Nice shop! Laid out beautifully, lots of gear.

Since I can't leave another Google review, I am borrowing my friends phone! I cannot begin to express my love of Gruhn Guitars! The people are some of the most incredible you will ever meet! They are kind knowledgeable and always have a smile on their face (even under the masks) every one has great dispositions! In my opinion, you will not find anyone more knowledgeable than these guys trust me on that! There are years of history throughout this building and every item has a story! It's always the highlight of my trip to Nashville! This is a favorite among all guitar players and well me and all I do is set up drums lol! Stop by you will not be disappointed! Grab yourself some gear and a new Gruhn t-shirt. Pictures can't do them justice! The trippy accidental black light design is incredible! Thank you so much for everything! It was a pleasure being shown around! I can't wait for my next visit and with any good luck hear more stories next time! I absolutely love this place! You guys are amazing <3!

I recently sold a very high dollar vintage guitar through Gruhn Guitars in Nasvhille, TN...and I couldn't be happier with the results.
After a long time debating to sell this vintage les paul, I decided to start talking with people in the industry...various collectors and vintage guitar dealers across the world. What I found was that with a guitar like this...everyone wants it...and many are not to be trusted.
The private collectors were hesitant to buy directly from me.. and rightfully so. There are many counterfeits and no one wants to get burned. Those guitar collectors that were offering to purchase directly from me had very low offers.
I've known Gruhn Guitars since I was a kid and so naturally they were one of the first vintage guitar dealers I spoke to...but certainly not the last. Some cash offer dealers were low balling. Others have a reputation of saying they can sell it for a very high dollar...only to keep lowering the price after they have it in their shop.
The range in value estimates I received from guitar dealers and collectors was a difference of $120,000.
I kept the people at Gruhn in the loop on my thinking. They were patient with me...answered all my questions. And never changed their opinions just to get the guitar. They were straight shooters the whole way.
After a few months of research...I chose to sell my vintage les paul burst through Gruhn Guitars. I did not feel comfortable shipping it. So I bought a plane ticket from California to Nashville to hand deliver it.
When I arrived, Joe Spann met me and verified I had a true burst. Then while a tech looked over all the details, I was treated with great hospitality by George.
After the tech had a few hours with the guitar, they were able to set a higher price for the guitar than previously estimated.
It is worth noting that this all happened through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Though the demand for such a high valued guitar had softened...Gruhn never came to me with an offer lower than the price set. This was a promise I received from them before I ever made a decision to sell through them.
They stuck to their word.
They sold the guitar for the price set.
I ended up netting way more selling through Gruhn than I could have on my own or through most other dealers.
And perhaps most importantly...I chose to trust Gruhn Guitars with an incredibly valuable guitar...and they never violated that trust...they have since earned more trust through how they do business.

George creates some of the best Custom Shop Martins out there at a great price. Snagged a 21 Series and love it. Everyone was great to work with. This is a legendary shop for good reason and they live up to it.
Lenny Arnold
Of course it was fabulous. Very nice people along with a beautiful store. I didn't see much in the line of amplifiers but the acoustics were plentiful. Prices were good for what I saw there. I currently am playing a Blues King acoustic that a friend got from there. Set up was amazing.
David Taylor
They are the iconic Nashville guitar store and yet still make novices feel comfortable and welcome. They have a world class inventory of vintage and new instruments including some that would interest the most discerning collectors. If you can't make it in, order online and they ship anywhere, otherwise make an appointment (during COVID) and go check it out!

We were in Nashville on other business, and blew off some other organized fun to go play "guitar tourists." Our first stop was Gruhn Guitars. The selection was great, and the staff had a, "feel free to play anything" attitude. It was a good visit and well worth the trip.
Blue Blood41
Gruhn guitars has the best selection of any guitar shop I’ve been in. I purchased a Martin 0000-28 custom and I could not be any happier. Any guitar purchases I make going forward will be from Gruhn guitars for sure. Highly recommend!
Matthew Ellis
I’m an out-of-towner from west Texas. This was my second time to visit Gruhn, and I left with a wonderful Martin 000-18. Not only is there selection stellar, but their staff is second to none. Gary helped me pick out the right guitar, kept bringing me model after model to try out, and then gave me a blind listening demo so I could actually pick with my ears instead of my eyes and $$. In the end, I left with an amazing guitar. I felt incredibly valued as a customer and will happily spend my $ here in the future. Well done, fellas.
Brendan Clark
Joe Spann in the appraisal team was simply brilliant. He replied to emails very promptly and was able to offer details and clarification on a vintage Fender instrument that others had struggled to. He came through with a well written, detailed appraisal and valuation. It is understandable why Gruhn Guitars is the international benchmark.
Thanks again.
Scott Cooper
In from out of town and my son loves guitars so we stopped by. Wonderful displays of many types of guitars and staff was not afraid to let my son play a few of them. Wonderful wall of company history that should not be missed. Nice stop in town that is not your normal tourist stop.

This place is incredible. We stopped by while visiting Nashville for a festival, and ended up coming into Gruhn guitar four different times.
The selection is really hard to believe- even when you see it. I purchased a new Beard Reso guitar (Dobro) and couldn’t be happier with it.
Make sure you talk to George Gruhn and see the collection of instruments on the second floor. You won’t regret it!

I'm from Wisconsin and have relatives in Gallatin Tenn. Whenever we visit we make a trip to Nashville. This Store is Historic all around the U.S, It's awesome! nice guitars and basses. The first time I visited, I bought an acoustic guitar case strings and pics! Now I can't pass this place up when I'm in Tenn! Great staff! Thank you all! If your a musician or want to be, I highly recommend it! I doubt you'll be disappointed!😉

We stopped at Gruhn Guitars In late January on our trip south to Florida for the winter. I wanted to check out their Martin guitars and I was in for a real treat! The store carried a huge selection of Martins, both new and vintage. The store staff let me browse and play anything I wanted and answered every question I had. Rob Ruff worked with me, answering questions, checking specs, and suggesting various guitars to play. I focused in on a Martin 000-28 for my next guitar but was not ready to buy while we were on our trip. Rob suggested that when we returned home from Florida, they could ship a brand new guitar to me in MIchigan. After returning home, Rob called me to tell me they had just received a 000-28 that day and it could be sent to me. The brand new 000-28 is with me now and I love it! Rob followed through on every detail for me and I could not be happier with my purchase and all of the people at Gruhn Guitars!!
Gruhn Guitars is a first class store with a great selection and staff. I highly recommend this store and Martin guitars.

My dad and I, after years of planning, decided to go on a guitar roadtrip to Nashville from NC. We figured we would try and hit every guitar shop in town. Gruhn Guitars by far was our favorite shops in the area and the selection and quality of guitars they had was beyond our expectations. My mouth literally dropped when I saw some of the basses they had in stock. The fact you can actually put your hands on something and try it out made the experience even better. I decided to surprise my dad and bought him a Taylor 224ce-k, because what's a guitar roadtrip without getting a new guitar? The staff were very friendly and even encourage you to try something out if you want. They have sound proof rooms where you can plug into a few amps and jam out a little. Truly a great guitar shop. Thanks to all the staff who helped us out!
connor thomas
The best guitar shop in the world! As soon as I walked in the door everyone was super nice and welcoming! I had the best experience of my life here! Thank you Gruhn Guitar’s!
Donna Russell
The service I received at Gruhn's last week was second to none! I came in to buy some strings and hope that someone would talk to me about how to string my mandolin without breaking the strings (it had just happened twice). The service manager was kind enough to teach me how, let me video tape him doing it, and he strung and serviced my Collings! I am so glad I chose to buy my mandolin at Gruhn. First class instruments and first class service!!
Naomi Harper
My family enjoyed trying out the instruments. There's 3 guitar players in my family and they all found something they loved to play! We'll definitely be back next time we are in the area!
Scott Dohrmann
Huge selection of guitars. Acoustics mainly. Lots of Martins, and actually really good prices on new Martins. Of course there are some very high priced, collectible guitars but also affordable working-musician guitars. They beat any available online price on a Martin I bought from them a while back without any dickering! Quality stuff throughout the store. Friendly, attentive but not pushy staff. This place is world-famous, and rightfully so, but most of all it's a great place to buy a quality instrument at a fair price.
Devin Holmes
This place gets a lot of hype. Yes they have a lot of guitars, but it honestly seemed like a Martin outlet store (but full price or higher). I went in expecting to see walls of vintage and rare guitars and I was disappointed to find that there were 4-5 new Martin guitars for every old guitar in the store. I only gave it three stars because it’s far better than any Guitar Center.
Jeff Davidek
If you like guitars, Nashville & Gruhn's are a special combination. You just have to go. I've never seen so many great instruments in one place. The staff was friendly and laid back. No pressure or pretense at all. They allowed me to try whichever guitars and amps that I wanted. Found a great guitar. Delivery went perfectly. Highly recommend.
Judy Fuller
My husband and I spent yesterday morning at Gruhn’s. Glen led us to the perfect guitar. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. The entire experience was a memory of a great birthday.... and my husband left with a new love... a McPherson work of art! Thank you to Gruhn Guitars and to Glen. Fantastic inventory and customer service with a Capital C.
Brandon Calano
Unbelievable customer service! The team at Gruhn's Guitars goes above and beyond to get you exactly what you need. They have competitive prices, a massive selection of guitars, and everyone who works there is so friendly. I will be a customer for life. Thanks!
Robert Lapp
I've been to this store a number of times and recently had a guitar appraised. There was an issue with the appraisal that I brought to their attention and they handled it in a surprisingly professional manner that deepened my respect for the store and the people who operate it. George Gruhn and his store have the reputaion they do for a reason, they've earned it. I highly recommend stopping in if you're on the hunt for your dream guitar or just want to see, hear, and smell beautiful and/or historic stringed instruments.
Terry Nichols
Met Mr. Gruhn himself!! Awesome store with unlimited guitars and banjos!! A must see!!
Sarah Navey
Cool shop. Lots of expensive guitars!
Robert Cook
Excellent exterior and good place to visit.
Brett Wolff
After a recent poor experience at a store local to me, I wanted to leave a review of a truly great store. I was in town for work, and I stopped by GG on my way home. I was SO glad i did. I was shocked to find so many fine instruments (new and vintage) available to play. The staff was friendly but low pressure which was EXACTLY what I wanted. I asked a few questions, which they answered thoroughly. I am looking forward to my next trip after I have saved up a little cash.
Stephane Prunet
I went by Gruhn Guitars upon arriving in Nashville, almost hesitantly, having peered at the Gruhn book and knowing these guys towering reputation in the world of stringed instruments. OMG. I was treated to an amazing tour of the place, including some of Mr Gruhn’s collection, up to the repair floor where I got to see the luthiers at work. I saw and heard the most amazing instruments of my whole life, and met the nicest, friendliest and most passionate people I met in a guitar store (and I have been to some...). Thank you Nathan, thank you Mr Gruhn, this was a unique experience that left an indelible mark and a huge smile on my face. I’ll never forget this visit and the incredible welcome I was lucky to receive.
Joe Crowley, II
Friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating staff! Excellent guitar selection!
Chuck Millar
This has been one of the most fantastic experiences ever. This is the only place to go for a new to used or vintage instrument. They instruments are top of thier class and so is their service!
Eddie Karp
First visit to Gruhn Guitars, although I've been hearing and reading about it for decades. I'm a New Yorker who sadly lost a similar Holy Grail type guitar shop when Mandolin Brothers closed after the passing of Stan Jay. It was wonderful to hang, chat with the friendly, knowledgeable staff, and play a number of great instruments. I'm still pining for the OM 21 that blew me away !!! Maybe down the road if I can avoid hell at home! Hot chicken at Hattie B's as suggested was great too!
Adam Weiss
Legendary spot, very friendly staff, absolutely amazing collection of very rare and unique instruments but also custom shops and quite affordable high ends. Not only did we get service and info about guitars but also a tip where to get hush puppies. Thanks for the amazing experience
Jeff Hitchcock
Brought my Taylor in for maintenance on February 2021 this year. Recently had same issues so took it back today (June 4, 2021). I met employee Tony today, he evaluated the situation, and remedied my problems within 15 minutes. Such a wonderful guy. We need more of him in this world. Otherwise there is a mixed bag of folks working there. Half are friendly and the other half don't seem to really care. Sincerely, Jeff
Cody Mullen
What a first experience! This place is amazing. Anyone who wants to be blown away from a selection of high end guitars needs to come see this place. And while you're at it, make sure you speak with Billy. He's an absolute pleasure to talk with and definitely knows his stuff about guitars!
GretschBeastFan
Went to Gruhn's for the first time for my birthday today, my wife took me on a weekend birthday trip, the big 50th, to buy a Martin D-42. The place is just amazing, and as a guitar player it's honestly a bit overwhelming, you could easily spend the entire afternoon just browsing the incredible variety of guitars, dobros, banjo's, etc.
Thanks so much to Glen who responded to all my emails quickly, providing any information, answering any questions, same way with the few phone calls I made with questions.
Just a great experience, and great people.
I also did a lot of shopping around, and no one beat their price. Really felt comfortable buying from a family run business that's been around for years verses the big box guitar stores, not a knock, just an opinion.
Awesome experience, and the best birthday present ever-thanks again to Glen, great guy.
BJ FitzGerald
For any musician, there are certain shops that are Mecca’s; simply the best at what they do. Gruhn Guitars is one of them. Every one of the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, letting me try different guitars and amps. Had I not already bought a superb guitar from Dan Strain, I would’ve walked out with vintage beauty. In short: go. It’s the best shop in Nashville, and that’s saying something.
Greg B. Cornett
I recently made a guitar purchase from Gruhn Guitars. I have purchased more than one instrument from them over the years, and have always been treated fairly. Glen took care of me from start to finish; he provided excellent service and insight.
Greg Poulos
I purchased a mandolin from Gruhn in 2005 and then another in 2012.
This week I visited their new showroom and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I went in looking to play 2 of their high end vintage Martins that I saw on their website and Billy took me upstairs to the 2nd floor where all the goodies are. We grabbed the 2 guitars I was looking for and he grabbed a third that he thought I would like, too. I was given a private room to play in and then I was left alone to play to my heart's content.
I didn't purchase anything that day but they made me a very fair offer on the guitar I was interested in.
Absolutely no pressure to buy and they made me feel very welcome to play anything in the store for as long as I wanted to.
Sean Strickland
I didn't see Gruhn but I fealt his presence
Tyler Bone
If you like cool and unusual guitars this is an awesome place to go! My dad and I went here a couple years ago and had a great time. If I’m ever back in Nashville I’ll be sure to stop by again
Jude Panfil
Absolutely magnificent. George is an asset to this town and has the best selection of fretted instruments you could ask for. Great staff, great music, and you might just see some notable acoustic instrument playing individuals around, it attracts the best of the best.
David Walker
From the selection of inventory to the people working here- this place is superior, elite, and supreme to all other guitar stores. The staff is also incredibly hospitable and welcoming. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.
Kenny James
I live in San Diego where finding a good mandolin is next to impossible. I have been to Gruhn Guitars in Nashville before,
and somehow knew that if I was going to find the right mandolin, that it would be there. I do not fly, so I made the road trip
To Nashville.
I ended up finding the mandolin I wanted, and had one with me that I brought to put on consignment. The mandolin I brought with me, needed a new nut, and the pre-owned mandolin I purchased, needed a new saddle.
It turned out that Greg Voros, who I am told oversees the repair department, came to speak with me about the repairs.
This was very special to me because Greg is a very intelligent and discerning man who was obviously very busy.
I had already been informed by his department that repair orders were backed up for six months, but in our conversation
when he learned that I traveled from San Diego, he promised to have the repairs complete in four days and at no charge to me.
What made my visit to Gruhn Guitars great, was not just finding the right instrument but the whole professional experience.
I know this sounds cliche, but I was truly made to feel special. I think the employees feel special to work there and want to work there… at least that’s the impression I got.
Dr Dirt
went here in september (the 11th i think) while in town for a conference.. walked from downtown, and was quite sweaty 🥵... i was welcome by the staff who told me to feel free to play anything.. i didnt want to drip on the instruments, so i didnt, just looked... What an inventory! thanks for the hospitality, it was a highlight of nashville...
Kim Limberg
Son found just the right guitar, Taylor GS mini Koa plus. Awesome tone! Great customer support from Cody!

Saturday I was in Berry Hill on a business inspection. Being from Chattanooga and having had little time for anything but work this year, I decided to take my wife and make it a mini-outing. Gruhn Guitars happens to be close to the job site, so I decided to stop and check it out. So glad I did! Although I am not in the market for new instruments, already having too many I cannot play, we spent a very enjoyable hour browsing. My wife, who was less than thrilled about stopping, thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the beautiful instruments. We had never seen a $16,500 banjo! There are tons of instruments, from high end Gibson electrics to Martin acoustics to ukeleles to mandolins to banjos to some things I had never seen. Mostly it's high end and vintage/collectible, but there are lower end instruments as well. And on the few things whose prices were familiar to me, the prices were the same as Amazon or Guitar Center or Sweetwater - amazing for an independent brick and mortar! When we were there, there were people from Ohio and from Florida specifically to visit Gruhn's!
Even though we were obviously not buying anything (no way am I picking up or trying out a $4,000 Martin or $2,500 vintage Beard resonator or $16,000 vintage Gibson banjo!) the staff was unfailingly friendly, not pushy but informative when we asked questions. Admittedly we've made only one visit and only met two employees, but it's difficult to imagine what one would have to do to make those two rude. We ended up happily dropping fifty bucks (tee shirt, hat, Golden Gate thumb picks.) They did have lots of instruments I could afford (and wanted!) so it's probably just as well we are in Chattanooga. Were Gruhn local to me I'd have to stop in often to see their amazing selection and there's no telling how many instruments I'd end up buying with no need, no time, and no talent!
Highly recommended. This is a store with enough unique instruments to tempt the collector or recording/performance artists, but also with enough used and reasonably priced equipment for the novice. And if you're like me, just spend an hour or so enjoying seeing the instruments and maybe buy a shirt or hat or some of their many, many picks or straps or other accessories. You won't be sorry.
Darwin Alberto
Fantastic selection. Friendly, professional staff.
Visiting the store was a treat, resulting in my first purchase there. My second purchase was basically online with some texting included; that was just as efficient and seamless as being there in person. Very highly recommend!
Kahna Wentzel
Hands down the best guitar shop I have ever been to. We walked in and were just charmed to be in the building. Everything from the logo of the hand drawn mouse, to the special Vintage Guitar on the wall next to it sitting an article of where it was actually featured. The guitars, the ambience, the staff, we loved it all. We came from Houston and this topped my list of "to-do's" and we will be back. As a matter of fact, we will be in Nashville for Metallica next month and will be visiting this awesome shop. Keep it classy, Gruhn! We know you do!!!!
Justin Pennington
Cory was patient and very helpful when helping me find an electric guitar! He was extremely helpful but still gave me space to try out different guitars on my own. Couldn't be happier!
John Paul Jones
I visited twice—2011 and 2012—and both times I was treated with respect and good cheer. During my second visit I was considering buying a style of guitar (archtop) that I didn't 100 percent want; I was trying to stick to my budget in buying a vintage Gibson acoustic. The salesperson let me play a few guitars to my heart's content; and in discussing what I really wanted, he suggested I save up my money and buy what I wanted and to not settle. Think about that: a salesperson NOT pressuring you to buy something! I walked away knowing that one day I would do as he suggested.
Yesterday, that's exactly what I did: I purchased my dream guitar—from Gruhn, over the phone. Living in NYC, their prices were actually lower for the same guitars in the same condition I was looking at here in the city—and I did not have to pay NYC tax either, which means it was that much more cheaper to purchase from Gruhn! The phone purchase could not have been any easier to do, and the salesperson was thorough, kind, and as helpful as could be.
If you're serious about buying a guitar, and are respectful, you'll get that respect back thricefold. I cannot recommend Gruhn highly enough—I would love to know which guitar shops in the USA are better. Doubt there could be many, if any.
Brian Stemetzki
I recently took a guitar setup class from Greg Voros (master repairman and repair shop manager at Gruhn Guitars) at Nazareth Guitar Institute in PA. Greg is a great teacher and a master repairman. He took individual time with me to assist me in learning how to set up my guitars the correct way. He teaches to setup guitars in a logical, methodical way and gets great results every time.
Lynn Smith
Fantastic place. An iconic business in Nashville. If you are a musician you must visit this place. Tons of beautiful guitars, mandolins, banjos, etc. No fiddles however- one needs to go to the Violin Shop for those.
vwbeetle72jellybeen
It's pretty cool to sit down with a new (or classic) guitar with your daughter, start noodling around, and have a staff member come by and tell you, "Oh, hey, that Taylor guitar you're playing? Yeah, Taylor Swift just bought that exact model from us 'bout 3 weekends ago. She loved how it sounded and looked and had to have it." It'was almost $5,000! They gave us free picks and stickers and encouraged us to come back on our next vacation. Fantastic selection, very nice layout, and plenty of benches for you to sit down and play your next instrument.
Matt Habit
Gruhn Guitars is the place to go if you are looking for a Taylor or Martin. They have a ton of them. Great selection and the staff know everything. Ask for Lin, he will take great care of you.
Greg Robinson
I bought a new martin D18 there the salesman Billy Jackson was great he treated me better then any salesman has ever treated me at any guitar shop! He made my experience awsome! I highly recommend gruhn guitars very awesome shop and great sales staff.
Kathy Reed
I have to give a shout out to Billy Jackson, who was incredibly helpful in my choosing to purchase a guitar at Gruhn! He made the process so easy, and was a delight to work withafter drooling over a particular model one day, I called back the next day....asked for Billy, and he must have seen caller ID, because he answered the phone with "Hello, Ms. Kathy--I have your guitar ready for you!" No hello, no howdy-do! Made me smile, and sealed the deal! He added strap buttons exactly as I requested, packed it with extreme care, and shipped it exactly when he said he would--and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Go see Billy if you get a chance--and please give him a big ol' hug for ME!!!
Edward Cognazzo
If you looking for the most variety of acoustic. Archtop. Electric & non-electric (always an old Deangelico), banjos, electric 6 string, bass guitars and vintage guitar & dass amplifiers, this is the place. Mr. Grunt advise me that the price offer was $500 less that identical one sold. That was good enough explanation and I got a 2007 Gibson electric reverse Flying V. The look and sound is awesome. Thank You Gruhn GUITARS.
Pub Germ (Pubgerm)
The gentleman behind the counter was very personable, and very welcoming. The one other guy there asked us what we were looking for, and ignored my fiance's response " my dad told us about this shop and he wanted to come here" apparently souvenirs aren't applicable as sales to that guy.

I have guitar made in Guitar company of america.
Pretty vintage.
Made by Dixie michell.
She seems to have worked Gruhn guitars a long time ago.
I met the guitar at a small small music shop in Japan.
I fell in love at first sight.
It is my treasure.
I want to go to Nashville someday with my guitar.
Leo Grant
Gruhn’s has an expansive one-holer with natural reverb and no neighborly shame. Also, it has nice guitars.
Ryan David Rhea
Fantastic customer service! Tommy is great. He was patient, helpful and I ended up buying a guitar even though I didn't plan on buying anything that day. lol We even got to tour the upstairs collection of really amazing stuff. Great experience overall.
Peter Adams
Rob Ruff and the sales staff were wonderful! Very honest and the Gibson guitar I purchased from them was exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend them!
Michael Marshall
I was like a kid in the candy store and could not pick which way to look . It was like all your dreams coming true. The guy at the front counter saw my face and tolerated my babbling and was cool as a cucumber and invited me to look, touch and play what I wanted . I spent $20 Grand and did not walk out with a single guitar! I am so deprived in Australia for a shop like this and have decided it is better to save up and fly to Nashville the music city and feel like I am in music heaven! Only in America !
Paul Abell
Probably not much I can say here that most musicians don't already know... This is a fantastic store that has a great heritage. While I tend to like the older facility better, I always drop in for a visit when in Nashville.
Alfie Buxton
Went there last year. Very friendly staff and incredible instruments for sale. Been to guitar shops in several countries and cities and this is still my favourite!
Matthew Burke
Dropped in to see what was around. Gruhn is amazing, awesome selection. Corey and Brian were super helpful. Will be back!
Giovanni Botta
This is a great store. Great space, amazing selection and very helpful and friendly staff. I didn’t make a purchase but if I was in the market for a vintage guitar this would be the place.
Sam Rajan
Great selection of guitars and staff were friendly. Enjoyed visiting here in my trip to Nashville!
D Grubba
Great guitar shop. Wish I lived closer but I am guessing that I would own 2-3 more Martin guitars if I did. If you are a guitarist at any level you should visit Gruhn!
Vintage Bibliophile
This place is AMAZING! Vintage to new guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukeleles... As well as accessories. The environment is so appealing, the people are friendly and knowledgeable. It is a tad bit difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair, but I'm not taking away for that.
John Cooper
Awesome place guys were very helpful. The guy was very understanding with the fact that I was new to guitars and really walked me through what I should be looking at for my price range . even let me try my dream guitar that there’s no way I could afford!
gary titi
Nice selection of guitars, all well tuned and ready to play. Very accommodating staff.
Richard Seate
Flew to Nashville to look at a Musicman bass they had listed on their website. Was greeted by Keith when I arrived. The bass was exactly as described. Keith took me to a private room, turned on an amp, and said "go crazy with it" and left. We discussed price and quickly came to reasonable number for both of us. After paying, Keith said don't worry about flying back with it, I'll ship it to you and you'll have it in three days. Great buying experience and I will be going back.
MrDotRedcoat
A special place indeed for guitar lovers. Not every major brand but all the key players. Friendly and welcoming staff too. I was encouraged and trusted to play even some high value instruments.
Gatheringskies
Nice store filled with Vintage gems. I've tried a 63 Gibson Firebird on an Ampeg amp. (reissue). Told the seller I wouldn't be buy it, but I just had to try it! He gladly let me in the sound room with a smile. The mini humbuckers sounded like nothing I've ever played before! ;)
Nice assortment of acoustic and banjo as well. Great store if you're in the market for a collector's item. Knowledgeable staff that lets you pickup any item you're drooling on.

The go to place for vintage guitars and amps. Inventory varies as most, if not all, instruments are used. Gruhn has a rock solid reputation for selling authentic vintage gear. A must stop for any guitar player!
Liz VanO
Love Gruhn! Every time I come into town I have to stop here! Wonderful selection to browse and play around with. Such great staff, so accommodating, friendly, and generous.
Andy Lamb
I am in heaven when in here. Just wish I could afford the one I really want.
Sean Higgins
Holy top notch guitar store!!Beautiful instruments with prices I saw from $650 to $12000...staff is awesome and you are welcome to play any guitar,,,which is not the case in most stores with high end gear....A must to visit if you want the best.. top brands, custom brands, just incredible...
Dave Philpott
The store is spotless and the staff cordial, but if you're going there to pick up and fondle lots cool stuff without any real intention to purchase that day (aka Guitar Ctr), that just isn't going to happen easily here. Nope, this a top notch "boutique", really. A place to go find something if you already generally know what you want (i.e a vintage or premium priced instrument). That wasn't me today. I was just a guitar playing hacker/tourist with a couple hrs to kill and figured I'd do it at Gruhn's. Now properly educated, I spent about 30 mins browsing some nice stuff, bought a t-shirt, some picks, and left.
neil rushton
Must have got them on a bad day ! Brit living in NW Arkansas we looked a little hot as we had walk 2 miles to get to the shop ! Nether of the staff I said hi to were very friendly didn’t ask if we needed help so off we went 😬🇬🇧🇺🇸 shame as all the reviews look great …
