I feel so fortunate to have a Cuban tres and a Cuban cuatro custom made by Manuel Delgado. As the author of Arsenio Rodriguez and the Transnational Flows of Latin Music (2006), I spent more than 10 years learning Arsenio Rodriguez's tres playing on a not-to-well-modified tres I made myself. Fast forward to 2022, and Manuel's customized tres sounds so beautiful, authentic, and natural under the hands to pick out montunos. Delgado Guitars takes great care of its customers from first contact til when your guitar is shipped and arrives to you. Thank you, Manuel! It's an honor to have two instruments from the legendary Delgado family!

I have never left a google review ever, but I just had the best experience with Manuel and the team at Delgado. As a young female guitar player I am used to a very condescending and confusing experience at guitar shops and this couldn’t have been further from my experience with Delgado. Manuel walked me through the problem I was having with my bridge pins and re-stringing and actually had me do the majority of it with his guidance and some very helpful tips and tricks. It’s not often I leave a guitar shop feeling empowered and also like I had made a new friend and l can happily say I will be recommending Delgado to all of my friends, especially other female players.

**If you’re looking for a family owned guitar shop that’s overflowing with experience and heart, look no further.** At first impression I was already overjoyed with Manuel and Tyler’s costumer service. I vowed to come back again, regardless of the final product, based on their warm personalities and the history of the store. After receiving my guitar today, only a week or two after bringing it in, I am in absolute amazement with the final product. Manuel went above and beyond to make sure my guitar was in better shape than it has EVER been. Not only does is play perfectly (he fixed the action and stings to my exact liking), but he also made sure to stain the damaged area- it looks beautiful! He ended up having to create a completely new head stock from scratch and it’s just gorgeous y’all. He even detailed it a bit- so kind and purely out of the goodness of his heart. All of this for a more than reasonable price. They also never once made me feel like my guitar was less important for being less expensive or because I am a newer guitar player. That’s special. They are special. Let them make you and your guitar feel special! Guitar: Epiphone Casino Break to the headstock after being repaired the first time (by someone else but the same point of break) with improper glue making it very complicated.

Brought my Guild acoustic bass to Delgado Guitars with a broken truss rod. Learning to play bass, bought used a couple years ago elsewhere, and didn’t realize it was broken until recently. Really appreciated talking to Manuel and getting the pros and cons of “fix or not”. Felt confident I was leaving the instrument in good hands after deciding to go for the fix. Not an easy repair, and in my opinion, really hard to fix well and match finish etc after pulling up fretboard. I really appreciated that not only did Delgado Guitars replace the truss rod, they upgraded the neck with additional stiffeners. I wanted to repair it right, keep this instrument for the long haul and Delgado Guitars made it better than it was originally from a structural standpoint. Outstanding job on the finish as well. Thanks for breathing new life into this instrument. Excellent workmanship and very fair price. I’d recommend to anybody who wants to ensure a great repair in caring hands. Thank you Manuel and team!

Manuel restored the voice of my Santa Cruz F Model acoustic. The guitar had been re-fretted years ago with larger frets and the voice began to change thereafter. It's difficult to describe what about the tone had changed, but everything began to sound flatter, less woody, and the chord intonation lost its accuracy and color. Manuel treated my guitar like a doctor treats a patient. He was diligent and thorough, paying attention to all of the intricacies in the build of the guitar that gave it its voice. He contacted the Santa Cruz company and had them send him the original fret wire. When he called me to pick it up, I played it and almost teared up.The qualities of the tone have been restored. Manuel, thank you for your commitment to excellence. You've helped bring the smile back to my playing.

Excellent experience with Delgado Guitars. I am always hesitant leaving my bass guitars in the hands of others - I made the trek from Louisville to Nashville because I read great things about this company. Manuel was very nice and explained in detail what his plans were on getting rid of some fret buzz I had going on. He leveled/crowned/polished the frets and did a complete setup on both guitars at a reasonable price= NO MORE FRET BUZZ!! Thank you very much Manuel!

What a privilege to have had Delgado Guitars work on an acoustic guitar of mine. I brought in an Everett guitar in need of a setup, some bridge work repair, and a pickup installed. They accommodated me by squeezing me in so I'd have the guitar in time for an out of town show. The setup and repair work were terrific, but the pickup signal level during the show was not what it needed to be. I called the shop to explain the situation, brought the guitar back, and they did not hesitate to look into the issue and make the necessary correction. I inherited some instruments from a family elder, and when passing through Nashville decided to have some of them repaired and set up. I got a word of mouth referral from an old friend to go talk with Manuel at his shop. He repaired a 100+ year old Whyte Laydie banjo, and talked me out of spending extra on a new head. He set up two guitars and they play so effortlessly now. A professional musician friend back here in the Seattle area, marveled at the quality of the work done with set ups. He also reworked an old mountain dulcimer, which is now pure joy. I'm saving up for my next trip to Nashville and hoping to score one of Manuel's special creations, a Delgado guitar. Thank you, Manuel, for your expertise, craftmanship, not up-selling me (actually doing the opposite:), and kindness. Manuel and his cohorts are truly a class act, with all the quality and expertise you would expect of a top-level luthier and guitar shop going back 3 generations. Tyler in the front of house is a master of the customer experience. I wouldn't take my Martins anywhere else! They've done a neck reset on each for me (HD-28V and 000-17SM) and the difference was stunning. One of these days I'm going to get a Delgado Bass.

I came in looking for a good classical. Manuel took time out of his busy schedule to put three guitars in front of me to try out. None of them was exactly what I wanted but I came back later and found a C9 parlor which was exactly what I wanted. I played it for a month now and it just gets better and better! You won’t meet nicer people than Manwell and his staff at Delgago Guitars!
