We bought a jukebox recently and have been looking for vintage 45rpm records. We found them here!! Over 200 of them so far. Very reasonably priced, too. Most are 25 or 50 cents. We spent more than three hours looking through the boxes and came away with so many great finds. The workers are cool and the manager was super helpful. If you’re looking for a great place to buy 45s or any kind of vinyl (new or old) you have a good chance of finding it here.

Always something new to look at, and one of the best CD/Record stores in the state. I've been shopping at record head since the 90s and the only reason I only give it 4 of 5 stars is mainly because the musical instrument section is usually pretty lacking, but I understand if people don't sell them stuff it's hard for them to have an amazing inventory. Thank you Record Head for providing us SOMEWHERE to buy our music locally!!!

Record Head is the best vinyl store in the Milwaukee area. Bullseye Records on the East side is a strong second, and Volta Records (formerly the Exclusive Co in Greenfield) is third. Record Head has the best selection in stock, with knowledgeable & helpful owners who can order you anything that is available on vinyl or CD. Their prices are fair, the titles & genres are well organized, and the place is clean & well lit. If you are vinyl hunting in Milwaukee, go here first.

Great selection of all kinds of media, from records to video games. The prices are affordable, and there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to find that obscure album you really want here. Their bargain bin was great in selection, meaning things you would actually want! The store was nice and spacious, and they even sell refurbished equipment at reasonable prices. If you're in the area or willing to drive from Milwaukee, I highly recommend you do! Be sure to set aside an hour for this place!

My lady an I stopped into here to see about some retro games for her Nintendo 64. I've visited this locations numerous of times in my past so I assumed they would have what she wanted. Took tops one to two minutes before we came across the original Mario Kart 🥰🥰🥰. The cashier was super nice an what we paid was very reasonable compared to other places we visited.

I hadn't been here in four or five years, when they had just one rack of used vinyl in the back and mostly sold dvds and electronic equipment. Imagine my surprise when I walked in today to find the best record store in the area. A wide selection of new and used records: rock, jazz, blues, metal. The prices are good, especially for the used records, a few of which are marked play-test guaranteed. The clerks were very friendly and helpful, even when they had several customers at once and seemed to be restocking. I walked out with about twenty records and have my next three trips planned out -- and I really didn't even explore the entire store. This is going to be a new regular stop for me.

Great selection of new and used vinyl. Best in the city. Prices are better than most in the area. The space is large and inviting. Staff friendly and helpful. I'm 55, and this reminds me of being in my teens hanging around in record stores browsing for hours, listening to music. Also a large selection of new and mostly used stereo equipment, cd's, games and musical equipment. I love this place!

This is a real record store. You can ask the staff about the bands on their t-shirts and they can actually tell you about them lol. I've only been once but I saw absolutely no bias towards any kind of genres or mediums/formats, they had of course the good ol' dollar bins, they had used records (which aside from the people is what really gives a record shop character, especially nowadays that you can't smoke indoors lol) but the used records aren't gonna ruin your shirt, they aren't dirty. They have brand-new recently released vinyl & CDs, they also have brand new copies of classics from Thriller/Off The Wall, to NWA/EPMD/KRS One/ATCQ/Eric B. & Rakim, to Guns'N'Roses, to Jimi Hendrix Live, they have Bob Marley records, Johnny Cash, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, The Commodores, they even had the CD of the GTA San Andreas Official Soundtrack which if someone doesn't pick up I'm going back to get myself lol. From everything that I checked out the prices go from 'a steal' & only go up to the reasonable price you'd expect to pay for a brand new record or whatever be the case. Not just a record shop though, they have a wide, unbiased collection NEW VINYL, OLD VINYL, CDs, RECORD PLAYERS, & then as you might expect they also have BAND SHIRTS & other MUSIC T-SHIRTS (for a good price as well), but they also have VIDEO GAMES, HOME SPEAKER SYSTEMS, PA/VENUE MONITORS, GUITARS, DRUMS, & I saw some other little instruments like some KEYBOARDS (it's not a full-blown instrument/music equipment store but they do have a good section of the store dedicated to gtrs/drums/speakers/etc. & someone was actually playing guitar, but like a decent human being, not like the guys you find in guitar center lol). I passed by & said "Oh wow, a real record shop??" & I went in just to check it out but you know how that goes; Of course I got to looking & they had my Gang Starr OOTBY so I had to do it lol. If you want to shop at or check out a record store anywhere in Milwaukee County, I can't say I've seen them all but I've seen most of them & this is the place I'm gonna call my music store from now on. I believe they also advertise on the exterior of the building that they buy records as well but I don't know the full deal with that. Oh & the place has good AC too which was great today lol its spacious & clean & yeah what can I say its a real record shop, you wanna hangout in there. P.S. Thank you very much to the woman in the Chili Peppers shirt, she made me feel right at home lol & I didn't get a chance to exchange names but I will absolutely be back & be bringing my friends with me. The BEST selection of albums in the city. They offer new and used albums. They also have a great selection of cds and DVDs, vintage stereo equipment and tons of video games. They buy and sell. Loved the selections of new records. However none where really organized in a way that was anything baide artist, vs vintage, used, etc. The ukuleles they sell are garbage, but have a lot of good electronic instruments and the 6 guys sitting around the front might be able to help with some of your questions sometimes.

Record Head on greenfield ave is a west allis institution. I have bought many CDs there and when they had the store around the corner that sold the as-is CDs 4/for a dollar. Most of my CD collection is from Record Head W.A. Certainly respect the place and all the people who work there.

Great little store! Had records, CDs, instruments, t shirts. My son bought a little bass amp and cord for under $70! The staff was fairly friendly. They did tell us they could answer any questions, from behind their counters. So, the only thing that would have made it a better experience was if the staff would have been a little more proactively helpful.

The only record shop I go to in the area! I'm only going in for vinyl but they have an array of different electronics, guitars, video games, dvds/cds, and more! The vinyl section is primarily the back area of the store and they have a lot to offer in all conditions! They make great deals on anything you're willing to sell. They're also willing to search for anything you have a hard time finding it.

Oh man this is like a microcosm of all entertainment media. Ya got records, ya got games, ya got your audio equipment, and ya got instruments. I really like their record selection actually. It's the first time I've seen that many Replacements albums in one store.

Am one of those people who still use movies on dvd. The discounts on movies and very deep and reg prices are excellent compared to otjer stores. We get guitar strings dvd's games controllers and used items that are ALWAYS in very good shape. I have bought at least 30-40 movie dvds there and never got a bad one...same goes for used games and controllers. Great place to browse on a rainy day. I love going there...also the staff are crazy nice and knowledgeable. .

Awesome selection of used games, movies, CDs and vinyl records. I'm brand new to collecting vinyl and I found a lot of really fascinating options here. I collect mostly metal and pop vinyl, and I found some great records for really great prices. A lot of the classic metal artists (Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc.) are in a separation section than the rock and pop vinyl, so keep that in mind while searching through the records. If you're into collecting old games, you've got a lot of outstanding options here. My brother found some can't be beat pricing on a number of used games and some hard to find ones too. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection and the variety of consoles. Dad liked the DVD selection. They do sell Blu Rays, but my dad looked at DVDs since the pricing was good. Lots of older, more obscure titles were in their selection. I was surprised to see that they also sell instruments here. I didn't really check them out this visit (first time here), but it looked like they had a few guitars and keyboards and some orchestra string instruments. Next time I come back here I'll have to check out the instruments since I've been in the market for a good bass guitar. We will definitely be back again. Considering this my main place for collecting vinyl and finding those hard to find games.

The staff here was very knowledgeable in musical instruments. I was looking for a beginner guitar/amp for my son and had pretty much no idea where to start. The guy behind the counter really helped me pick out something that was nice, but, still incredibly affordable. I got everything that I needed for him(guitar, amp, cords picks, etc.) for under $200! Would definitely recommend their store, and will be shopping there again.

This place has more of a hipster vibe to it. Because they got a lot of old music. If you're a pink floyd or Beatles fan you'll for sure find The merchandise here. If you're looking for any retro video game systems this is the place. If you have a thing for instruments or maybe want to replace or repair any, this is your place. The customer service is pretty good, but the only thing about it is that, they over explain a little too much. But overall this is the place.

I had an amazing experience with an awsome employee and customers! Couldnt stop laughing with them. Then i found out while checking out that my brand new game was only selling for 20$ in every store and i was kinda bummed out because i paid 60$ and unintentionally i mentioned how i need diapers and gas so i said it dont matter ill take the 20$ its something and because i really needed it and the price dropped everywhere anyways and out of the generosity of the cashier's heart he added 5$ for me and that may not be alot to some of yall but when a lot has been going on and you feel stuck, people being nice means a lot and makes you wanna keep going. 10/10 As a video gamer and overall skittish person in general, this place is one of my all time favorites. If you want to get write to business and buy some awesomely priced CDs, games, or consoles, the employees understand and will send you on your merry way. If you're open to talking, stutter or no, they will openly accept your words and thoughts. As a buyer, this is a hit or miss music store. You can find many cds and musical instruments but all are at a different price range depending on condition, artist, year, and style. Most things seem to be used. I have found many cds for an affordable amount but some things are overpriced. As a seller, I haven't had an awful experience either. I would say sell things that you think has value but not at a collector's level. All buyers have been great except one who usually works the video gaming area. As I showed him items he would just say "no" instead of explaining why as other buyers within the store do. Didn't even attempt to touch the items I wanted to sell. How can you inspect without even holding an item someone wants to sell? Store also is open on odd days. Other than that it is quite good.

These guys are Fantastic ! I was in desperate need of a new laptop so I just happened to call Record Head... I got service that was above and beyond. They took the time to show me all my options explain them to perfection and let me make my decision with no pressure at all...I was so impressed with the computer staff they are extremely knowledgeable plus they also do repair on laptops here. Because of the wonderful sales and service I received here I will be back for many more items that I saw in the store. I cant say enough about this place. I think it is the best place in milwaukee to buy records, electronics, etc. The staff and owner are just great. Went in one day to get them to extract some stuff off of a hard drive I had and they did it no fuss for free in 15 minutes. They guys just rock!!! A super awesome place! Had the best experience at Record Head. I have been going to record head for a very long time, and this last experience did not dissapoint. I have bought many thing from Record Head, but have never sold. I brought in some music equipment to sell and was suprised that I was given a decent amount. Unlike Music Go Round where they buy for bottom dollar, Record Head gave me a decent amount in cash. Will continue to go back to this store, and recommend it to anyone in the area. Huge selection of music equipment, movies, music, computer equipment, and a few odd suprises!

Stopped in to get a large monitor to use with a very old laptop (vintage 2003) that has, expensive to replace, autocad software installed on it. They found a really nice, used, 3 year-old, 28" monitor. Extremely impressed with Bill's expertise using the ancient XP Professional OS and the way he got everything working together. Price for the monitor was VERY reasonable given what they are going for online. Absolutely highest recommendation possible for these guys.
