What an awesome guitar shop! Really friendly staff (“Bubba” and Howie especially), an incredible selection of Gibson Custom shop Les Paul guitars and other gear. Pretty neat to see some vintage items in there as well. I would highly recommend Fuller’s!

I've bought guitars from a lot of places but coming into Fuller and talking with Eric has always been such a rewarding experience. I'm the proud owner of a 2nd Taylor guitar...this time a 12 string 362ce to add to my 814ce. I always leave here with a finely tuned and beautiful piece of equipment and a ton of knowledge which is important to me when spending a lot of money. There's no doubt when I leave that I've made a great buying decision. Eric is always patient with me answering all my dumb questions and allowing me to come on multiple occasions to try out everything I want to ensure I'm comfortable walking out with the best option for my needs and as a happy customer when I finally pull the trigger. They also give me great knowledge and help on guitars I've bought elsewhere before I found out about Fuller. 5 stars all day! The pic reps both Taylor guitars Eric helped me choose. Both amazing!

My favorite place to visit down in Houston. First place I took my Dad when visiting from Connecticut and got him a beautiful Fender American Pro II Precision Bass! Perfectly setup with a Jamerson signature flat wounds. The staff are old school guitar guys who know their stuff and will help you find exactly what you’re looking for and unlike the big box stores… they don’t lock up their high end Taylor’s, Gibsons, Custom Shops, etc. Lastly, they carry everything the other places don’t. Never know what might show up around there.

Came to Fullers looking for a high end guitar. I’ve been shopping for a while, but have struggled to find one a like. I’m from out of town, so I wasn’t planning to buy anything but just trial things so I knew what I wanted going forward. The staff was super friendly and let my try anything I wanted. The first guitar I played was a red Candy Apple Tele CS and it sounded special. I proceeded to try half a dozen other guitars, but nothing sounded or felt like the Tele, and I ended up pulling the trigger. I’ve been to guitar shops where the staff acts annoyed every time you want to try a guitar, and that was the opposite here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They also had an incredible selection of high end guitars, so I was able to try everything next to each other. Super excited to get this thing home and play this beauty, and I’ll definitely be coming back to Fullers when I’m in town!

5 star experience here. They have some rare/old guitars. I was able to play a pre-war Martin D-18. The staff are very friendly. Got to see a first year Telecaster and Stratocaster. Amazing Definitely a place to go visit.

After ordering a number of guitars online, only to return them, I decided to hit every guitar store in Houston (and more than a few pawn shops) to find what I was looking for. I came to Fullers 3 times over the course of two weeks, and every time my experience was the same: staff that are more than happy to let you pick up and play whatever you want for as long as you want, there to answer your questions without pushing you into buying anything. Not only was their guitar selection quality but it was a great place to hang out. Thanks to Eric and John for their patience in helping me to pick out the perfect guitar, by checkout I was proud to give this place my business. They even re-strung it for me. I waited a month to write this review in case the magic wore off… not gonna happen. Kudos Fuller’s, I’ll be back.

Fuller's is Houston's best guitar shop, hands down. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I have brought a few guitars in for minor repair and set-up in the past. I have always been satisfied. This time around, I brought in my 65 Jaguar. It needed some major work done on the fretboard, a re-fret, a new nut, and a pot replacement. Yano did a fantastic job! He brought my guitar back to life! If you have any repairs or custom work required on your instrument, Yano is your guy. He is the best in town.

Just bought my dream guitar from here. The owner of the store personally responded to my emails and Yano was freaking awesome to just talk about all things guitar (I asked all kinds of questions surrounding fret length, best practices, pickups, straps, etc). He answered all my questions and really made me feel comfortable considering I am not a pro at all. I will be going back soon for suggestions on a few different things and hopefully, when I get better, I can get my next dream guitar from here.

I have been to Fuller twice in last year. This is without a doubt the best guitar store I have ever been. Great service, great salesman. I have bought two guitars and both times the prices were fair and they threw in quite a bit of merchandise with my purchase. The guy that helped me (unusual name) was phenomenal. I have gone to Fuller's many times over the years. I can count on one thing every time, exceptional service and a selection that cannot be beat. If you are looking for a quality guitar Fuller's is the place. Eric and the entire staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a knowledge that you will not find in any of the chain stores. I can truthfully say they are the best. I drop in whenever I am in the area just to see there is anything new I just have to have. I was recently in the market for a Martin D-15. Unfortunately there were none available at my local shops and I was loathe to buy one from a large chain. Ironically, I decided to check with Amazon since I know they oftentimes deal directly with exactly the sort of shop I was looking for. When I saw that my guitar might come from Fuller, I did my research and they seemed to be a business that truly cared about guitars. I took the leap and I can't tell you how happy I am to not have been let down. My guitar arrived this afternoon, packed tight and safe. It had retained the tuning, and it is clear they did not phone in the setup. The next time I am in the market for a new instrument I will be going straight to them.

This is an outstanding guitar shop. Just a wonderful selection of new guitars for every budget. Some real gems that are used as well. The salespeople are very knowledgeable. I told him I was interested in a semi-hollow electric under $1200.00 and I loved the two that were handed to me. I was super pleased to get to play some of the nicer guitars even though I told the salesperson they were outside my budget. I've visited guitar shops all over the country and their inventory rivaled any big city's. I plan to give them my business anytime I'm in Houston.

Unbeatable Guitar Shop My brother was looking for an acoustic guitar. We went to a few music stores but Fuller had the goods, the service and extensive knowledge. Eric in the Acoustic guitar department provided more information about Taylor Acoustic guitars than I got on a tour of the factory! I even worked at Collings Guitars in Austin a couple of years, doing odd things and I was learning loads of info from Eric in the hour he spent with us. He knows acoustic guitars like no one else. The staff is so nice. They are unbeatable. I also played the best strat I've ever played there - a custom shop strat. I've been to many music stores - having lived in Austin for 7 years as a gigging and regionally touring guitarist, then San Diego and now I play professionally in Zurich, Switzerland, but I've never been to a shop like Fullers. Exceptional.

The most notable thing about this shop from the moment I walked in for the first time was the staff's passion for music and for customer service. I was assisted by Ethan and Eric, both of whom knew the answer to every question I asked them. Eric is probably the most knowledgeable guitarist you will ever meet, and also one of the nicest. If you are considering buying a guitar, you would be a fool to visit any other shop in Houston.

This is a local business with quality, well experienced people. If you know what you want, you'll be in and out fast. If you want to browse, you'll be left in peace. And if you need an education, you'll find a wealth of knowledge and eagerness to help. They will explain the variety of gear, but don't focus on the upsell. If you know what you want but they don't have it stocked, they'll get it. They also ship gear anywhere, so they are a local store with national reach. The folks who helped me showed amazing customer service, and respect for players of all skill levels. Every other customer coming and going seemed genuinely happy to be there. Honestly, compared to shopping at other national chain guitar stores, this place knocks it out of the park.

My daughter wanted to go there for her 16th birthday to check out the EVH Frankie guitar. The guy who helped us was super cool, and very helpful. My daughter bought the EVH guitar picks, and when he found out it was her birthday, he gave her a key chain and a couple picks, it made her day! It is hard to find that kind of human kindness and helpfulness in today's world. It is over a hour drive for us from where we live, but It is worth it and we will definitely be back to buy her guitar there. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. Good selection of guitars (was pleasantly surprised to see Collings guitars), but the staff were a bit rude. Younger employee was pushy, older employee just started blasting one of the amps right next to me while I was trying out a guitar. No warning. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on their people skills because I'm sure they're good folks, but they need to be more aware of their customers.

I recently traveled out of state to visit family in Texas and was curious about the selection of guitars they had compared to what was around my home. Based on their website the selection was notable, and they had a few that others didn't. Enough to warrant a stop by. The staff was extremely helpful, no pressure to buy, even though we were there a little after they closed. The best part is they saved me from getting a 1700 guitar that was more than needed and hooked me up with one that had killer appeal and great sound for what i wanted. Next time I need gear I may wait until I go back down to Texas

I went to Fuller's today for their end of year sale, and was immediately helped by Brian, the Gretsch rep that was visiting the store. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, and introduced us to Eric Hesson from Fullers. Eric was just as helpful and attentive, and between the two, answered every question we had about the different Gretsch models. I was leaning towards a specific model, but both Eric and Brian weren't pushy at any point, and let me try out anything I wanted. They've got a huge selection of new/ used amps too, so I was able to play the guitars on my exact amp to really get the full experience. Eric really had a great balance of coming around when we needed, and letting us have time to ourselves to talk/play. Ultimately, it was a great purchasing experience! fthe staff and awesome selection that sold me. They hooked me up with a bunch of great extras that was just the cherry on top of my new hot rod! I would highly recommend Fullers for your next guitar purchase!

My go-to store for guitars, ukulele's and supplies. I've been shopping here a long time, and have never had any of the customer service issues mentioned by other reviewers. I've bought a lot of guitars here over the last 4 years and felt I was treated fairly on all pertinent issues. They clearly want to make you feel comfortable in the store and let you try lots of instruments without pushing any too hard. When they know you like a guitar or uke, then you might hear a sales pitch, but not before. I've played some very high end acoustics there, guitars I would never dream of buying, and not been encouraged to spend money I didn't have. I find the staff to be relaxed, easy to talk to and knowledgeable about the instruments. Since I only play acoustic, I can't speak to the electric side of the store. If you are interested in guitars, stop in play some at this store. The Taylor, Martin and Gibson selections are the best you will find in the city and possibly in the state.

I’ve been here a few times. Had one of my guitars set up, bought a flight case and strings frequently. I gotta say, it would be extremely reassuring to the customer if when asked about a part or item the store employee would actually search inventory. I was looking for a pedal and immediately the answer was no, I don’t know what that is... word. Who would’ve known that every employee there has an entire inventory checklist buried in their head. You must work during alllll of the open hours to know exactly what’s in the store at all times. Their customer service could use a little help.

Brought my Gibson SG in to have a setup done by Jim and now it plays even better than it did when I first bought it. I am a very happy customer! I play ukulele and had been shopping at Fuller’s guitar for months looking at this sweet little Lanakai. Mother’s Day was coming up and my husband purchased it for me. I was so happy! The sound was as beautiful as the instrument itself! My delight turned to heartbreak that evening however, as there was a moment I was caught off guard and dropped it from nearly shoulder height onto a concrete floor. It was a pretty sickening sight! It still sounded great, but the pristine beauty was lost! That Monday, I brought it back in to Fuller’s for repair. We went with a simple repair since as beautiful as it was, it didn’t make sense to go the expensive route. Yano called this morning to say that it was ready for pick-up. He said that although the damage might still be very noticeable, he would do what he could to stop the cracks from spreading. I tried to upload the picture so you could see but they won't upload! Honestly, you would have to look very hard to notice the damage. Thanks to Eric in sales and Yano for the beautiful repair! Awesome job!

I hung out there for a long time when I first got back into playing. They have a great stock of acoustics and are/were (it's been a while since I have stopped in) a Guild dealer. They had a great selection of Taylor, Martin, Guild, and Epiphone Masterbilt acoustics. They also have a great selection of Fender, Epiphone, Gibson, Guild, Jackson, and Gretch guitars. Have always loved Fuller's Guitars ever since I moved to Houston 17 (?!) years ago. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and carry a wonderful selection. The reason I am just now writing… My wife and three young boys bought me my dream guitar this past Christmas. A total surprise. When they wheeled out a large box in wrapping paper Christmas morning I thought, “a tent!”. Pretty sure my wife has a video of me slowly tearing off the paper and seeing a guitar box! What?! I could not believe it. Fast forward two months. I noticed a crack on one of the lower ribs of the guitar. [Sinking feeling.] I reached out to Yano at Fuller’s (via Instagram) and he immediately responded that he would take care of it. I dropped it off on a Tuesday and got it back two days later. In the meantime, Yano sent me probably 15 shots of the repair process. (He should be a photographer if this guitar thing doesn’t work out! Haha.) Thank you, Yano! Long story, short. Support local. Fuller's is a fine store to be sure; purchased this J-45 Custom spec (Fuller's spec) a few weeks ago from them. Great team worked to make sure I was satisfied and well taken care of throughout the transaction... trustworthy, i would say. The best part: this guitar is especially handsome and sounds great... Howie called it "a canon" and this is pretty close! i have a number of higher end acoustics from most of the usual suspects and this one is right up there near the top! Beautiful separation of tones and really striking overtones when lightly finger strummed. Red spruce looks and sounds very sweet. I really love this guitar! One thing... I didn't care much for the tusq bridge pins that came with it... they looked like tiddly winks to me... hahaha. Upgraded to black dot, bone pins and for my taste this really refined the instrument's look. I think you will be happy if you work with these guys on your next axe purchase!
