Reviews of Anchorage Guitar Central
Great service. Wonderful staff. Gave me a good deal on my son's guitar from when he was 7. He's graduating tomorrow.
This is the absolute best guitar shop I have ever been to. I went in to get an estimate on how much my guitar is worth, and he was so friendly and helpful. Only $65 for a restring and neck adjustment. I will be coming back. I'm so satisfied with the service. Thank you so much.
Extremely kind and helpful staff. I went in for the first time today and the environment was warm and welcoming. Got a ukulele and am headed back soon to get some repairs done on my guitar. Can’t recommend these folks enough!
Wow! Hands down the best customer service I have ever had. I don't usually take time to review places, but the folks here deserve it! Will was more than accommodating, answered all of my questions over the phone and in person, and hooked me up to work within my budget. I was blown away. Didn't try and up-sell at all, and made sure I got what I needed for the best price. I will definitely be coming back here, even after the big "Guitar Center" opens up in town.
You want string experts who love music and know their stuff, this is the place. Very personable, won't try to pressure sales or upcharge you. There's always some great deals to be found and great conversation to be had. I'm new in town and very much a beginner on my instrument, but I already feel at home here.
I stopped in just to get a few guitar picks. I'm new to guitar so I was looking through the books to find something to help me learn. I talked to Will and he was excellent and obviously knew what he was doing. I ended up getting the picks, a book of chords, and he was nice enough to write down a couple of youtuber names for me to watch and learn. I've been to shops where you're looked down on because you're not an expert. This IS NOT one of those places. And, oh my gosh! The guitar eye candy there was awesome! One day I'll upgrade to a "nice" guitar and these people will be the ones to sell it to me.
I was looking for a small travel instrument to take with me on trips. After calling and speaking with Will who was extremely knowledgeable, I settled on a Baby Taylor. Just a few days letter, I received a wonderful instrument that had been carefully packed and was ready to play. I would strongly recommend purchasing from Anchirage Guitat Center!
Worth getting to know everyone and look around. One of those home-grown Alaska shops that seems to have exactly what you need, when you need it.
I ordered a custom jaguar body and neck from Warmoth, as well as the hardware and electronics needed from various places to make a guitar. Once it all arrived, I called Guitar Central to see if they would put it together for me, they said no problem. From what seemed to be a straight forward guitar build ended up being a nightmare to put together. Things didn't fit right and had to be routed, electronics didn't reach and weren't up to snuff. Also, me being an amateur when it comes to building a guitar, didn't know exactly how much went into putting something like this together. After all was said and done, Will the technician got it put together and sounding beautiful, and I know more work was put into it than I was charged for. Thanks to Will, I now have the guitar of my dreams and couldnt be more happy. If you're looking for great customer service and knowledgable staff, go to Guitar Central and talk to Will.
Will was great! He took a lot of time to educate us about guitars and the various makes and models. He even tuned up a guitar and gave us a wonderful demo. We will definately be back!
Great store the best deal ever, they beat on line by quite a bit. They have all my business. By the way my Grescth and Fender amp are making me practice all the time thanks again
Great knowlegable staff, beautiful guitars and instruments. A house of worship for the musically inclined.
Petr Bucinsky is an amazing human encyclopedia on musical instruments and art... and a luthier to boot. His store is a wonderland of vintage and new instruments and the customer service and support is excellent. As a new arrival to Alaska, Petr's Violin and Guitar has become my go-to place in Anchorage for everything musical and more!
Great local guitar shop. If you want a Taylor acoustic, PRS, or Fender electric, this shop is superb with a large selection of high end guitars.
Great place with some of the most unique guitars I've ever seen in a store! A definite stop for any guitar player!
Wonderful string instruments. Great service and really felt like I could have just sat there played music all day.
Has the best service in any guitar shop I’ve ever been to. I felt inclined to write a review which I never do.
When I was a kid I used to go in here all the time to stare at the anniversary gold strat and I would sit for hours just browsing and asking questions ,the owner would put up with me drooling and dreaming of playing those guitars ,he even fitted my charvel with a whammy bar and I had no money ,he just gave the tremolo arm to me ,those are the things that stay with Lil musicians for a lifetime ,was just reminiscing and thinking about that old place
Thank U for putting up with me
The Lil musician who’s a
