Sarah ChernatinskiI have a little history with the Old Courthouse Museum as we had our wedding reception there several years ago. It is a stunning venue and the staff was so great to work with. If you are looking for a wedding or reception venue, I would recommend checking it out. Well worth it!
Today we went back through just because we like the building. We parked in the side lot near the back courtyard. They have so many exhibits there but walking through the building itself is always a great experience!
Side note* to the gal in the gift shop working your first day, you did great! Thank you for your help!
Yohi SivakumaranWonderful place to visit! A three story building with collections, conference halls, etc. very good architecture… very nice collections, especially with the makeup and hairdressing sets which was used in 1930s.. Most important free entrance… Fantastic gift shop! Enjoyed very much…
David SerafinI absolutely loved the wood work and the floors are amazing. They just don't build structures like these anymore. The staff was great, the gentleman in the gift shop informed us about other museum so we check that one out too
C RenaissancemanIf you like local history, this is a must see. Free entrance, street parking, lots to see within the old courthouse. Easily spend a few hours here. Multiple storied structure. Would recommend.
Michael MillerTop notch museum that is FREE! Beautiful building to begin with. There are great displays to get visitors more familiar with Sioux Falls. During my visit there were some wonderful temporary exhibits. Wish there was better parking, but you sure can't beat FREE!

Lindsay SaylesFREE....but if you enjoy your experience they have a donation box. We definitely donated. The building itself is just beautiful to see, and there are several interesting exhibits throughout. They have a car Teddy Roosevelt rode in a parade in the city, a tree that got pierced by a steel girder during a 1932 tornado, an old school voting machine that you can operate, and more. Stop in for a little South Dakota history. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Kit kArchitecture is neat, the old staircase is cool and the ballroom with the balcony is lovely. I particular enjoyed viewing the indigenous section and artifacts. Everything else is kinda meh.

Luba SThe museum is also the venue for the weddings! Admission is free. No online reservations are required. My favorite section was the “dolls and toys collection”. The exhibits are on the first and the second floors of the old courthouse in Sioux Falls downtown
